What kind of glue to glue cardboard to cardboard and other materials. How to glue wood to wood? The choice of glue and the rules for its use What glue to glue thick paper to the board

One of most popular materials in construction and many other manufacturing industries, wood is. Therefore, it is often necessary to glue wooden parts with the aim of obtaining For this, a wide range of different compositions is offered, thanks to which there is no easier task than gluing wood to wood.

Types of glue

Of all the varieties of glue that differ in their composition and characteristics, it is necessary to choose the one suitable for solving the corresponding task in order to obtain perfect result.

  • quickly and efficiently glues wood, leaving virtually no traces. But when exposed to water, as well as low and high temperatures, it partially loses its properties.
  • "Moment" - universal waterproof glue for gluing wood and not only. It is also effective for gluing other materials to wood. Provides instant grip.
  • for wood does not lose its properties under the influence of high temperatures, does not dry out or crumble. Therefore, it is most often used in carpentry.
  • characterized by increased adhesion when gluing hard wood. Provides full adhesion 20 hours after application. Not afraid of moisture, resistant to high temperatures and long-term loads.
  • Casein glue has the same characteristics as polyurethane glue. The disadvantage is its ability to change the color of the glued wood.
  • suitable for all types of wood, dries completely after 24 hours and leaves no residue.

Which composition to choose

When deciding how to glue wood to wood, it is worth considering the versatility of using the adhesive. Some types are only suitable for working with a certain type wood, others are capable of gluing absolutely different breeds wood.

It has great importance and what specific goals need to be achieved, for example, glue broken wooden objects or complete facade work... The composition of the adhesive and its quality play an important role in this.

Household recipes

There are many recipes for how to make high-quality wood glue with your own hands. To do this, you can purchase ready-made casein in powder form or get it at home. Put low-fat milk for souring in warm place... When it is fermented, filter with cheesecloth and rinse the casein remaining as a result of this process in water and boil to remove fat. Then lay it out on paper, dry well and mix with borax (1 part borax to 10 parts casein) until the consistency of the dough. Dilute the resulting mass with water (2 parts) and apply the resulting glue immediately, since it hardens after 2 hours.

General rules for gluing

There are rules for gluing wooden parts, which must be observed regardless of which adhesive is chosen.

First you need to thoroughly clean the surface. This can be done using sandpaper or a file. After that, dry the parts and thin layer apply the adhesive with a brush and rub in gently. All surfaces intended for connection are lubricated with glue, then they are tightly pressed against each other using a press or in another way until the composition is completely solidified.

When working with any glue, mandatory observance of precautions is required, since even the most innocuous composition can sometimes cause a severe allergic reaction. Therefore, the gluing of wood must be carried out with rubber gloves. If the glue does get on the skin, you need to gently wipe it off and thoroughly wash the affected area with soap. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with running water.

If you thoroughly figure out how to glue wood to wood, and strictly follow the instructions for using the adhesive, then the junction of the parts can be much stronger than the wood itself.

Plywood is a building material, active use which is required by the production of furniture, packaging and even the automotive industry. The manufacture of this multilayer material is wood veneer conifers... Result - robust construction, which can be fastened with screws, nails and bolts, but the most convenient option is the glue.

Plywood laying methods

How to glue plywood to plywood? The most environmentally friendly is water based glue. It is completely odorless and can be diluted with water and used instead of a primer. Such styling requires additional fastening, and long drying is considered the main disadvantage.

Glue, which is based on a solvent, dries a little less - 3-5 days. In this case, you must first soak concrete screed special primer. The downside is the pungent odor.

How to glue plywood to plywood and save time? This desire can be satisfied as much as possible by using it dries for about 24 hours and does not need dowel-nails.

How to choose plywood glue

Deciding how better plywood to plywood, depends on the type of connection and further operating conditions. The process can be represented self-assembly plywood screed or carry additional function, for example, to strengthen the structure.

If you plan to use uncoated plywood, you can purchase any glue. The main requirement is a dry and clean surface. It is better to use a roller or brush to apply the compound to both glued surfaces. Then you can reinforce the plywood connection with nails, screws or clamps. Finally, remove the excess mixture.

How to glue plywood to plywood if solid sheets are to be used? You just need to cover the surfaces with the mixture, and then press them with temporary dowel nails.

It is not recommended to glue the laminated surface covered with a film, therefore, before applying the epoxy composition, the sheets must be cleaned sandpaper.

How to glue plywood to plywood, so as not to disturb the texture of the material and not cause color change, but at the same time to obtain a structure of high strength? For internal works PVA glue is ideal, and for outdoor - phenol or

The level of reliability of the connection is influenced not only by the applied mixture, but also by strict adherence to the recommendations, since if the latter are violated, the properties of the glue may not be fully revealed.

The composition of the glue

Almost any glue for gluing plywood is based on the following components:

  • main adhesive ingredient;
  • solvent;
  • filler, which is usually used as wood dust or flour;
  • additives, on which the rate of solidification and maximum adhesion directly depend;
  • plasticizer;
  • antiseptic.

The hardener is usually some kind of acid or ammonium chloride, and resistance to wetting is guaranteed by the presence of tannins (formalin, copper salts, etc.).

Adhesive requirements

Plywood glue should have the following positive qualities:

  • reliable fastening of materials;
  • ease of use in everyday life;
  • good moisture resistance;
  • not susceptibility to the destructive effects of bacteria and fungi.

It is equally important that the adhesive does not destroy the wood veneer or change its color.

Which glue is better: "KS" or "Tarbicol"?

When deciding how to glue plywood to plywood, people most often opt for "KS" or "Tabrikola".

A little more detail about their properties and features:

The influence of the plywood grade on the choice of adhesive

The brand of suitable glue for plywood directly depends on the level of required strength and on how high the humidity is in the room in which the structure is planned to be used.

What glue to glue plywood to plywood, if ready product will be in a well-ventilated area? PVA, protein or synthetic is well suited.

If you plan to make country furniture, which will be located both indoors and outdoors, it is better to use one of the synthetic compounds.

After the choice was made in favor of moisture resistant material for indoor space, you need to determine how to glue the plywood to the plywood. Reviews indicate that it is better to make the connection with compounds based on the use of uncoated sheets makes it possible to glue plywood with any type of glue.

How much glue is needed to lay plywood on a concrete surface?

The amount of consumption depends on the number of irregularities, the presence or absence of porosity and the quality of the screed. You should proceed from the recommended consumption of 1.2-1.5 kg / m 2, but do not forget that the plywood should be laid on the base without voids. Only an even pressing of the plywood to the base can ensure optimal distribution of the adhesive over the entire surface.

Tools and materials required for work

Before you start working with plywood, you should stock up on the following tools:

  • foam roller;
  • clamps;
  • hammer.

You also need to prepare the necessary materials:

  • blanks;
  • sanding paper;
  • nails.

Plywood gluing sequence

Before getting started, you need to figure out how to glue plywood to plywood. The instruction below reveals in as much detail all the subtleties of this process:

  1. initially plywood sheets must be cleaned of dust and various kinds of contamination. To remove the laminated layer, you will need
  2. Then the plywood should be thoroughly dried.
  3. It is recommended to use a roller to distribute the adhesive to obtain an even layer.
  4. Now you need to press the plywood parts together with clamps. It is recommended to remove the protruding excess with a knife and rags.
  5. If there are great details, then they will need to be connected with nails.
  6. Finally, when the glue mass is completely dry, the product must be released from the clamps.

Plywood scraps coffee table

Much has been said about how to glue plywood to plywood, but how can you make something useful from this material?

After various renovation works a lot of plywood scraps remain, which are simply sent to the trash can.

But it is precisely these pieces that are ideal, for example, to create an unusual and beautiful coffee table.

List of materials and tools required for work:

  • a whole piece of thick cardboard small size for a template;
  • many pieces of plywood of the same thickness, of which the main structure will be composed;
  • moisture resistant adhesive for wooden surfaces;
  • jigsaw;
  • pencil;
  • vice;
  • a circular saw;
  • Sander;

Plywood bonding: a practical example

How to quickly make plywood table? First, you need to make a paper template for cutting out the legs of the product. Coffee table will look good on openwork or curved legs.

Have to take big leaf paper and draw legs on it at a scale of 1: 1. When transferring a drawing to cardboard, remember that finished structure should sit on symmetrical legs.

After completing work with the template, you can proceed to gluing the plywood pieces. The manufacture of the structure must be carried out so that the shape resembles the future legs of the table. The gluing of every 2 pieces must be accompanied by the removal of excess mortar and tight squeezing of the plywood pieces. At the end of the work, the legs should be placed on flat surface, attach a template over them and trace its outline with a pencil. To trim excess construction, you will need a jigsaw. A tabletop should be placed on top of the product and the parts should be connected together.

"Nairit" - This is a special kind of neoprene rubber with long molecular chains, specially developed back in Soviet times in Armenia *. This brand of rubber was named "Nairit". Now "nairite" is called all adhesives made on the basis of nairite rubber, i.e. rubber with long molecular chains. When these molecules are joined together, the seam retains flexibility, which is very good for making and repairing shoes. If you take glue "88" - it has a very hard glue line. And at "Nairit" the seam is soft, elastic, flexible, it does not break under loads, vibrations, keeps gluing. For shoes - perfect option! On our website you can buy a variety of Nairit glue - "Nairit shoe".

* "Nairit" plant Is one of the oldest chemical enterprises in Armenia. "Nairit" as a synthetic rubber plant "Glavkauchuk" named after CM. Kirov, was founded in 1936. The enterprise produced the demanded by the national economy chemical composition- calcium carbide. Since 1940, the plant has become a monopoly producer of chloroprene rubber. Until the end of the 1980s, the plant occupied 10-12% of the world market for synthetic rubber.

3. Rubber glue is a solution of synthetic rubber in gasoline. Previously, for the manufacture of this glue, only natural natural rubber was used, extracted from the sap of the South American hevea tree, but now its synthetic counterparts are used.

Rubber adhesives that you can buy on our website - "Rubber" and "Latka"- used for gluing products that are not under heavy load.

"Rubber" glueis an inexpensive adhesive for non-critical connections. It is used for gluing rubber products that are not under heavy stress. "Rubber" glue is very popular with tanners: details of leather jackets and other products, before stitching, are first baited on rubber glue, and then they are stitched. It is elastic and can be easily torn. Remains of glue are removed from the material simply with gasoline.

Glue "Latka" for bicycle patches it is used to "bait" patches, which then still need to be vulcanized.

Also, rubber adhesives are used for gluing cardboard, paper, photographs.

Gluing method these three groups have almost the same. Before bonding, almost any surface to be bonded must be sanded and degreased. First, you need to apply the glue, wait until the solvent evaporates so that only the rubber layer remains, and then press the glued surfaces and hold them under load for some time.

Mode of application:

Apply an even layer of glue to the cleaned and degreased surface, dry until the stickiness disappears completely.

For responsible gluing, it is recommended to apply a second layer of glue after 10-15 minutes. after the first, also dry. The strength of the connection will increase by 1.5-2 times if the 2nd layer is heated to t ° = 50-60 ° C.

Press firmly for 30 seconds. Strength is critical, not duration of pressure. The product can be used after 1 hour. The final strength is reached after 24 hours.

For polychloroprene adhesives, it is recommended to press down as hard as possible on the parts to be bonded. This is due to the fact that these adhesives are based on short molecules, and the stronger the mechanical effect on the glued surface, the better these molecules adhere to each other, i.e. better adhesion. There is also a recommendation - to warm up the seam, or heat it up. This is also done to improve the adhesion of the bonded surfaces.

The composition of adhesivesthat you can buy on our website, no substances harmful to the body are included, called precursors, which is confirmed by the certificates of the adhesive manufacturers. At the request of wholesale buyers, we enclose a photocopy of these certificates in the product packaging.

4. Adhesives based on cyanoacrylate, or "super-glues"

Cyanoacrylate is an organic substance, the molecules of which have the ability to very quickly combine with each other (polymerize). Super adhesives, or cyanoacrylate adhesives, cure in 1–2 minutes and provide a very strong bond.

Cyanoacrylate polymerizes when exposed to moisture in the air. Therefore, if you want the glue to harden faster, and the air is very dry, it is recommended to breathe in the place of gluing.

Also, glue based on cyanoacrylate accelerates polymerization under the influence of pressure. If, for example, you drop cyanoacrylate glue on any surface, the drop will remain liquid for a long time.

General instructions for use cyanoacrylate adhesives:

1. The surfaces to be glued must be dry and clean. If necessary, clean from paint, dust, degrease.

2. Apply glue to one of the surfaces to be bonded.

3. Press the surfaces tightly and hold for 1–2 minutes.

Colorcyanoacrylate adhesives - transparent.

Super adhesives are suitable for bonding the most various materials: metals, ceramics, porcelain, glass, precious stones, rubber, rubber, most plastics, elastomers, cardboard, paper, porous materials, PVC. Used for gluing any wood materials... Suitable for MDF, chipboard, wood, plywood. They are used in the manufacture and repair of furniture.

By consistency super adhesives that you find on our website can be divided into 2 groups:

Ordinary, liquid cyanoacrylate adhesives

"Super Moment", "Akfix 702", "Elephant",

"505", "Cyanopan E", "Cyanopan ME",

"Alteco 110", "Fixator 505"

· Super adhesives - " gel", "Slow", thick cyanoacrylate adhesives. They do not spread, do not absorb as quickly as conventional super adhesives, they are convenient to use on vertical, uneven, porous surfaces.

"Akfix 705", "Akfix 705 with activator",

"Super Moment Gel", "Alteco Gel", "Fixer Gel"

When working with such adhesives, special precautionary measures:

1. If in the process of working with glue your fingers accidentally stick together - do not try to break them! Carefully and slowly separate them with a round object (such as a pen). After a while, the sebum will itself reject the remnants of the glue.

2. If glue gets into your eyes, you need to urgently rinse them. large quantity water and consult a doctor. If any glue gets inside, make sure Airways are free. Cyanoacrylate polymerizes (hardens) instantly in the mouth, making it virtually impossible to swallow. The saliva will gradually separate all the solid product.

4. Keep the adhesive out of the reach of children!

5. Epoxy adhesives

On our website you can find two-component epoxy adhesives creating super-durable, hard surface, which after solidification does not shrink, does not deform. After hardening, it can be drilled, sharpened. The adhesives are waterproof, non-flammable.

Metal, plastic, rubber, wood, ceramics, glass, crystals, stones and jewelry (bijouterie) are glued together.

Two-component epoxy glue "Alteko 5 min" transparent for glass, ceramics, porcelain, crystal, crystals, jewelry, bijouterie.

Epoxy glue two-component "Alteco 4 min" black for metal, plastic, rubber, wood, stone, ceramics, glass.

There are other types of epoxy glue :

· in bottles in sets with a hardener: "Khimkontakt-Epoxy" 200 g, 100 g, 70 g.

· in iron cans 900 g and 3 kg with or without PEPA hardener.

· epoxy adhesive for universal use and for steel in syringes for easy mixing,

· cold welding (all of them are made on the basis of epoxy resin)

In addition to all of the above adhesives, there are also other types of adhesives available:

Canned adhesives

· PVA glue

· Glue "Dragon" universal polymer

Adhesive for patches

Wallpaper glue

In everyday life or at work, people are often faced with the need to glue paper to cardboard. This situation is familiar. office workers, lovers of arts and crafts (modeling from cardboard, scrapbooking, applique or quilling), as well as most parents with children preschool age or schoolchildren. How to glue the cardboard, or what kind of glue to glue the paper to it is not an idle question, especially considering the different density of these two materials and the weighty thickness of the cardboard. Not every glue can glue paper and cardboard so that this connection is reliable and looks aesthetically pleasing!

What properties should glue for gluing cardboard and paper have?

Before deciding what is better to glue cardboard and paper, you need to find out what characteristic properties must have such an adhesive composition. For the adhesive bond between cardboard and paper to be strong enough, the adhesive must be:

  • medium consistency (not thick and not liquid), so that it can be evenly distributed over the surface to be glued, while thinner paper should not warp from excess moisture;
  • without a strong unpleasant odor;
  • environmentally friendly and non-toxic;
  • colorless when dry, so that a yellow tint does not appear at the bonding site, which spoils appearance;
  • convenient and comfortable to use.

The adhesive composition for cardboard and paper must have good adhesion to porous materials, and when hardened, form a flexible glue line. It is best to choose a ready-to-use adhesive that can be applied with a dispenser or brush.

What glue to glue cardboard to paper

On the modern market there is big choice adhesives that can be used to glue paper to cardboard. Each of them satisfies most of the properties required for gluing cardboard and paper, but has some disadvantages:

  • silicate glue gives strong, but not enough elastic seam;
  • dry glue stick does not warp thin paper, but has low adhesion;
  • PVA stationery glue contains a large number of water;
  • transparent grades of polyurethane glue form a neat elastic seam, do not warp the paper, but have a high cost;
  • gum arabic, which is the gum of dried acacia juice of some varieties, is not ready for use;
  • flour or starch paste must also be prepared before use.

The most convenient, inexpensive and reliable glue that can be used to glue paper to cardboard neatly and aesthetically is PVA glue made on the basis of a polyvinyl acetate dispersion. Only for this purpose, you need to choose not the clerical option, but its other types, for example:

  • universal glue PVA-MB;
  • universal KU or KU-27;
  • super PVA glue "Moment";
  • PVA wallpaper glue and some other varieties with a lower water content.

It is PVA glue that is the most common and popular for gluing paper and cardboard.

How to properly glue paper to cardboard with PVA glue

In order to glue the paper to the cardboard as smoothly as possible with PVA glue, you must:

  1. apply a thin layer of glue to one of the surfaces to be glued;
  2. gently lay their friend on top of another, and smooth out with your hand, removing air from under the paper;
  3. put the product to be glued under the press for 15 minutes;
  4. let the glue dry for 24 hours.

For neat gluing of cardboard and paper, buy high-quality glue from trusted manufacturers - such as our company ChMP "Concord"!

Wooden products have been valued at all times, so many craftsmen love this material. Making small models requires care and accuracy. Fasteners are not used in such cases, because they often spoil the appearance. And how to glue wood to wood? Modern manufacturers offer a wide range of products that will qualitatively connect the named parts.

When creating wooden structures, gluing is the most crucial stage. Even the most experienced craftsmen sometimes they make mistakes that become the cause of great disappointment. Because of this, the workpieces become spoiled, and all the work must be redone.

What is better to use for gluing?

Today there are many adhesive materials that are used for carpentry needs:

  • polyurethane compounds;
  • contact adhesive;
  • different types of PVA adhesives;
  • epoxy resin.

Each master always has several of the presented substances in stock. So how to glue wood to wood? Suitable option choose, paying attention to certain features of the future project:

  • tree features;
  • the conditions in which the product will be used;
  • the degree of load that will fall on the seam.

Features of the glue

When choosing a glue, you should also pay attention to its composition. It must be resistant to temperature changes, water and light. The most popular today include the following:

  • "BF";
  • PVA for wood;
  • industrial glue for working with wooden surfaces.

Glue "BF" is used by many wood craftsmen due to the minimal drying time. The composition is not afraid of corrosion, decay. It is resistant to oil, gasoline, water.

PVA for wood is a non-toxic, cheap and practical substance that can reliably glue wood parts together. Their final adhesion occurs after 24 hours.

Industrial adhesives waterproof, capable of holding together various types of wood. At the final stage of work, this composition does not spoil the working tools.

Many are interested in the best way to glue wood to wood. BF series glue allows you to reliably connect different kinds surfaces. Today, such modifications of the adhesive are popular: BF-2 and BF-4. The first one is used for interior work, the second - for exterior.

A high-quality connection can be achieved by applying two layers:

  • the first - primer - should dry out within 1 hour;
  • the second - final - dries up within a short period of time.

How to glue wood to wood

Before you start gluing wooden parts, you need to prepare the surface:

  1. Bonded areas of wood should be cleaned of dust and dirt. To do this, walk over the surface with a file or sandpaper. It must be sanded to a uniform state.
  2. The wood glue should be applied in a thin layer to both surfaces. In this case, it should be rubbed in a little. An exception is the connection of wooden surfaces with polyurethane glue. It is applied only to one surface, and the second is slightly moistened with water.
  3. The adhesive layer must be uniform, in the required amount, since an excess of a substance does not improve the quality of the connection, but only contributes to an irrational consumption of material. In addition, the surfaces are smeared with excess, and this adds work to the master at the stage of finishing the wooden product.
  4. The parts are connected and installed under the press for a certain time, which is indicated by the manufacturer on the package.

The most reliable gluing of wooden parts when connecting a tongue and groove. In this case, only the groove walls and the spike cheeks are lubricated. This connection is very reliable and durable.

The adhesive should be applied as described above. After all, having missed the hangers, you will not improve the gluing quality. In this case, the surplus will only come through, which will have to be removed in the future.

How to apply glue

The main rule for applying glue to the surface of a tree is its uniform distribution, and squeezing the substance out of the tube does not contribute to this. How to glue wood correctly?

For uniform application the substance should be smeared. Often a brush with stiff bristles is used for this purpose. But experienced experts recommend using toothbrush... In it, the bristles are of optimal rigidity and will be able to evenly and accurately distribute the composition over the surface.

Surface preparation: degreasing

Many experts claim that when gluing wooden elements it is not required to degrease the surface. But with oily woods, such a procedure will not be superfluous. This can be done with white spirit.

It is also necessary to degrease the surfaces when gluing dissimilar elements, for example, with plastic, glass. In this case, only one surface is degreased.

Do the clamps guarantee a good grip?

The strength of the connection directly depends on the accuracy of fitting the parts and the quality of their processing with glue. The amount of clamping force is practically not important here, so it is not necessary to tighten the clamps too much. A sign of good contact pressure is a small amount of adhesive bleed through.

Clamps are rarely used by experts. Wood craftsmen who make small items use scotch tape or masking tape to tighten. With well-fitting seams, this is enough.

Cleaning the surface from dried glue

It seems that the main thing is to decide how to glue wood to wood. But it is important that this process is neat. All excess must be removed when the glue has completely hardened or immediately after application. By deciding to sand the surface of the damp wood ahead of time, you can get an even greater aesthetic defect. And already hardened glue can be cut off with a chisel or cleaned by grinding, movements along the fibers.

Final stage

On the the final stage making any wooden structure held decorative trim products. But first you should check if there are any stained spots on the product. After all, traces of dried glue will show through under the layer of decorative material.
