The history of the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque
The construction of the Lyalya-Tulpan Mosque began in 1989 according to the project of the architect V.V.Davlyatshin. Construction ended nine years later. Donations from believers and funds allocated by the government of Bashkortostan were used to build the mosque.
The architect began to work on the project back in the days of the Soviet Union. First, the administration of Ufa allocated a place for a building in a beautiful park located on the banks of the Belaya River. The architect decided to create a tulip-shaped mosque. This is how the name of the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque appeared.
On the sides of the main entrance to the mosque-madrasah there are two octahedral minarets, each 53 meters high. From such a tower, the muezzin calls Muslims to prayer. The minarets of the Ufa mosque look like unblown tulip buds, and the main building of the mosque looks like a fully opened flower.
All guests who come to Ufa must visit this beautiful building. The interior decoration of the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque is wonderful: stained-glass windows, majolica, floral ornaments, many carved details, etc. The prayer hall can accommodate up to 300 men, and 200 women are located on the balconies of the mosque. The walls of the main building inside are decorated with serpentine and marble, the floor is ceramic tiles, it is covered with carpets. The Lyalya-Tyulpan mosque-madrasah is located in the northern part of Ufa, at the entrance to Chernikovka. But the mosque's two tall white minarets, crowned with red tulip buds, are visible from different points of the city.

The architectural design of the mosque is based on the desire to show one of the main symbols of the Muslim world - the bud of a spring tulip that has not yet blossomed. The beautiful and at the same time austere and modern building "Lyalya-Tulpan" appeared in Ufa in 1998. The construction took almost ten years.
The building consists of three floors, on the uppermost there is a prayer hall for 500 people, and a balcony for women is located separately according to Muslim canons. It can accommodate about 200 people. Entrances to prayer halls are different for men and women.
The prayer hall has a carpeted floor and elaborate stained-glass windows. The walls of the mosque are covered with marble.
"Lyalya-Tulpan" is not only a mosque, but also a modern Muslim educational center. Under one roof there is a madrasah (a specialized school with educational classes), a hostel for students, a conference room and a canteen.

After passing through a "theological seminary" at a large mosque, children enter a higher educational institution. The fairly spacious building has a prayer hall for three hundred people, classrooms with a capacity for one hundred people each, a meeting room, a dining room, a dormitory and decorative balconies that can accommodate up to two hundred people at a time.

The architect of the mosque is Vakil Davlyatshin. The project was based on the symbol of the coming spring, a blooming tulip (which since ancient times has been a symbol of the Turkic peoples), and the minarets personify its two buds.
Like two unopened buds, the minarets rise above the fully blossoming "Lyalya-Tulpan" flower among a dense forest on the northern outskirts of Ufa. The mosque is a stone 3-storey building with dimensions 50x50x21 m. The basis of the architectural composition is the image of a blooming tulip. Two octahedral tulip-shaped minarets, 53 m high, are located on either side of the main entrance. The entrance to the mosque is on the third floor level, where there is a lobby and a prayer hall (with a capacity for 300 worshipers) with a balcony for women (for 200 people).
The prayer hall is decorated in an oriental style: the floral ornament on the walls and stained-glass windows symbolizes the flowers of the trees of paradise. The walls of the mosque are faced with marble and serpentine. The floor is tiled with ceramic tiles and carpeted, the windows have colored stained-glass windows. Unique project

The architect proposed a complex intersection of triangular shapes in white and red. The originality of the building delights and amazes with its lightness and grace.
Interior decoration
Every day, from the minaret, the muezzin calls the faithful to prayer together. This call is heard far beyond the mosque.
The building itself is three-level. The upper floor is occupied by a prayer hall for men, which can accommodate up to 500 people. According to Muslim canons, women are not allowed to enter the prayer hall. They have balconies that can accommodate 200 people. Entrances for men and women to the building are separate.
The prayer hall in the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque impresses with its artistic decoration. The walls, faced with serpentine and marble, are painted with floral ornaments, traditional for Muslim religious institutions. The windows are decorated with painted stained-glass windows, symbolizing flowers blooming on the trees of paradise. The ceiling is decorated with graceful crystal chandeliers.
Shoe cabinets are installed at the entrance. After all, you need to go barefoot to the prayer hall. The tiled floors have soft carpets that are pleasant to walk on barefoot.
On the second and first floors there are guest rooms, a dining room, classrooms for pupils mastering the basics of Islam, religious disciplines and the main Muslim source of knowledge - the Koran. There is also a hall where nikah (wedding ceremony), the naming ceremony and muhtasibat meetings are held. There is a conference room in "Lyalya-Tulpan". In general, the mosque can accommodate up to a thousand believers at a time.
