Partitions "Knauf": technical characteristics, device, drawings, installation technology. Installation of Knauf drywall - from the choice of materials to installation

What is the Knauf system, its advantages. The materials used in the kit are in accordance with GOSTs. Tips for the installation of various systems. Video examples of systems from a global manufacturer.

Knauf wall cladding system

Drywall finishing material is widely used in renovation work... They align walls and ceilings, create arches, partitions. To get the job done right, you need to adhere to the rules. To facilitate the work, global manufacturers produce complexes.

The Knauf system is the most widely used wall cladding.

Peculiarities

Working with KNAUF gypsum plasterboards practically does not differ from the installation of other gypsum boards. However, the manufacturer releases necessary components to create a plasterboard surface. All materials assembled in a wall cladding kit are called a system. This simplifies the work, because all components are manufactured for each other. There is no need to think about the installation of non-standard additional elements.

Pros of using technology

The KNAUF complex includes all the necessary elements for cladding a wall or creating a partition. This has advantages:

Each structure has its own purpose: ordinary partitions, double cladding, and so on.

Types of gypsum boards used in KNAUF systems

The GKL kit for wall cladding has the following types of sheets:

  1. Drywall gray - thickness from 9.5 mm. used in rooms with moderate humidity.
  2. Green moisture resistant sheet - systems with such sheets are used in wet rooms.
  3. Green with red lettering, combined - a combination of moisture resistant and fireproof materials.

Wall cladding with systems is carried out according to 2 methods: frame (metal crate from profiles) and frameless (gluing sheets on an adhesive composition).

Knauf installation technology: drywall, walls and partitions

Knauf installation technology is not much different from the generally accepted work of wall cladding and the creation of partitions.

When assembling a structure, you must adhere to some rules:

  1. drywall sheets are fixed on a metal, wooden frame from the center or from the corner. This is done so that the fox does not deform. Screws NK 11 are used for fixation.
  2. To create a strong joint between the sheets, they are mounted close to each other, leaving no gap.
  3. GKL is mounted so that there are no cruciform seams. Sheets on the surface must be shifted.
  4. For application frameless way it is necessary to choose sheets of 12.5 mm.
  5. PERLFIX glue is used for gluing sheets. After gluing, the craftsman has 10 minutes to align the sheet on the surface.
  6. When laying thermal insulation material for fastening the gypsum board to the frame base, 35 mm screws are included in the kit for wooden base and 25 mm for metal profiles.
  7. Knauf profile is cut with metal scissors.
  8. A sound insulation tape is applied to the guide profiles before fixing.
  9. For good sound insulation, it is necessary to retreat at least 50 mm from the rough wall to the guide.
  10. If a Knauf system partition is created, with a room height of 2.80 m door leaf should be 90 cm wide and weigh up to 25 kg.

Knowing these rules, the assembled assembly will be a solid, rigid structure.

On what surfaces is cladding acceptable?

Knauf design is applicable in various areas: walls, ceilings, floors.

Frameless method applicable for concrete, brick walls... When installing the system in this way, it is necessary to select the correct primer.

The frame method is used if the room is damp, the walls tend to get damp, there is a desire to improve sound insulation and thermal insulation with the help of additional material.

  • there are kits for creating false ceilings;
  • kits for work in the attic - fastening from the side of the rafters.

GKL KNAUF kits are mounted on various surfaces. Each of which has its own requirements and the implementation of certain rules.

How much does the cladding cost

Knauf produces a large number of complexes applied to different surfaces with various configurations. Price policy depends not only on the complexity of the system itself (the suspended ceiling has a large number of components), but also on the materials (gypsum board 9.5mm or 12.5 mm).

Refractory gypsum board has the highest cost among all sheets, and double sheathing with sheets is much more expensive than installation in one layer.

How effective is Knauf drywall / walls / partitions technology: heat consumption rates

Knauf sets use heat, - soundproof materials according to GOST 9573-96, 21880-94, 10499-95, as well as materials included in the "List polymer materials and structures approved for use in construction by the Ministry of Health of the USSR "- M. 1985. sanitary standards RF legislation.

To maintain the norms of heat consumption in a room, Knauf systems have materials, the calculation of which is carried out individually for each case (dry but cold rooms, wet rooms).

The heat-insulating layer is laid only in frame base... It is impossible to apply insulation in a frameless method.

Plasterboard wall cladding: is it possible for yourself

For the installation of the GKL system, detailed instructions are included in each kit, so it is not necessary to call the wizard. However, we must not forget that the GCR sheet has its own weight and at certain installation works it won't be easy to lift it alone with glue or on the ceiling.

Experts know the intricacies of working with various systems, this gives a guarantee not to make mistakes and get a solid durable structure.

Knauf is a global manufacturer of mixtures, profiles and drywall sheets, widely used in various installation and repair work. Knauf systems allow you to reduce the time for the purchase of materials, to make it easier for yourself to do it yourself, to prevent mistakes that will subsequently affect the entire structure.

Useful video

One of the most technologically advanced and cost-effective solutions for construction or apartment renovation is the installation of gypsum board sheets. With their help, you can easily correct all wall defects, achieving perfect flat surface... The efficiency of the gypsum board in the manufacture decorative elements, arches or boxes has been proven by numerous design incarnations. Among the total producers plasterboard material the German company stands out favorably Knauf, whose products meet all international standards. The components used in production do not contain any toxic elements and do not have a harmful effect on human health.

General information

Gypsum plasterboard is a three-layer structure consisting of two outer layers made of cardboard and internal from gypsum mix . Depending on its composition drywall Knauf and its price are divided into:

  • usual(GKL);
  • moisture resistant(GKLV);
  • fireproof(GKLO);
  • moisture resistant with increased resistance to open fire (GKLVO).

The types of sheets can be easily determined by their external features: moisture resistant varieties have green color cardboard, a ordinarygrey.

The technological composition of the first type differs from others in the presence of antifungal and hydrophobic additives, as well as special cardboard.

By appointment GCR are divided into three types:

  • arched- thickness 6.5 mm;
  • ceiling- thickness 8 mm;
  • wall- from 10 mm thick.

In addition, sheets can have different types longitudinal edge, which Knauf drywall installation technology uses for the subsequent filler joints.

The dimensions of the rectangular material are from 2000 to 4000 mm in length and 600 or 1200 mm in width.

Preparing for the installation of gypsum board

The preparatory stage includes an assessment of the working surface for installation and choice the necessary tool ... The company's specialists advise to prepare:

  • utility knife, grader or round cutter;
  • , ironer and grinder;
  • stirring attachment and solution container;
  • building level, marking cord and tape measure;
  • screwdriver, square;
  • scissors for metal;
  • Knauf Fugenfuller putty;
  • self-tapping screws, suspensions;
  • galvanized profile or timber.

Inspection of the surface is carried out in order to determine the material of the walls and their operating conditions. After that, a specific choice of gypsum board and consumables is made.

Highlights of Knauf drywall installation technology

Depending on the type of structure, as well as its purpose, gypsum plasterboards can be attached both on glue and on a metal or wooden frame... It must be said right away that wood is not the most the best choice, especially in objects with high humidity.

The use of glue for fastening is permissible for wall unevenness that does not exceed 4 mm. In other cases, it is recommended to use a galvanized profile.

Option for installing gypsum board using glue

For an average room, you need to prepare about 30 kg dry adhesive mixture Knauf perlfix... She will provide reliable fastening without unnecessary constructions, average the price of a mix for Knauf drywall285 RUB per package 30 kg. Fastening technique sheets are as follows:

  • pour the mixture into a container with water and stir;
  • cut sheets to size;
  • apply ready-made glue to the reverse side of the sheet with stamps with a pitch of 350 mm;
  • press the sheet against the wall and level it.

Important! The mixture begins to harden after 10 minutes. During this period of time, the slabs should be leveled using a rubber hammer and a bar.

Installation of gypsum board on a metal frame

This drywall installation technology from Knauf company allows you to carry out high-quality insulation and soundproofing of walls. After taking measurements, the process goes the points:

  • cut the starting UD profile to size;
  • attach the UD-profile to the ceiling and floor with dowels in increments of at least 1 m;
  • install straight hangers for attaching the CD-profile to the wall, not forgetting to put a soundproof tape; step not less than 1.5 m;
  • install the CD-profile with a step of 600 mm and fix it with screws with straight hangers and a starting profile;
  • install the sheet insulation and fix it to the frame with self-tapping screws with a pitch of 250 mm.

Important! To improve the sound insulation performance, it is recommended to attach a special self-adhesive tape to the UD-profile. The caps of the self-tapping screws must be recessed into the mass of the plate; here it is advisable to use a special bit for a screwdriver with a limiter.

Average price of Knauf drywall sheets in the construction market

The cost of gypsum board is primarily influenced by its type and parameters. For example, the average prices for different kinds material:

  • ceiling 1200x2500x9.5 mm - 250 rubles / sheet;
  • wall 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 290 rubles / sheet;
  • arched 1200x2500x6 mm - 570 rubles / sheet;
  • GKLV 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 350 rubles / sheet;
  • GKLO 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 400 rubles / sheet.

When buying, you should think over and calculate in advance total material, profile elements and fasteners. This will make it possible to organize a bulk purchase, which will make the price of Knauf drywall sheets somewhat lower.

conclusions

  1. Application technique in construction gypsum plasterboards has a significant advantage - here there are no so-called "wet" processes, which are associated with the preparation and application of a significant amount of plaster.
  2. The installation technology is quite within the power of any novice builder and does not have special secrets, the purchase of a set of tools does not require significant financial investments.
  3. Thus, for little money and with minimal labor costs, we get smooth and aesthetic walls, plus the ability to embody the most daring architectural delights.

If you decide to make repairs in the apartment, correcting the unevenness of the walls and ceiling, insulating the room, creating an elegant design with various multi-level structures and lighting, then you definitely need to pay attention to such material as drywall. It makes it possible to create new look your apartment, and, which is very important, with your own hands. It is a pleasure to work with it, even a beginner with no experience in construction can handle it. One more important advantage- all this will cost quite cheaply compared to other types of finishes. But when you go to the store, you see many types of drywall sheets from different manufacturers. Namely, the quality, durability and reliability of the repair largely depends on the choice of gypsum board. Plasterboard Knauf- a good option, acceptable at a price that will pay off with a long service life. In this article you will find information about the products of this manufacturer and, most importantly, how to build, observing the Knauf technology, plasterboard walls and partitions as well suspended ceilings from the gypsum board of this manufacturer.

Knauf requirements for the frame of walls and ceilings

Knauf provides a huge part of the construction market. It produces many types of drywall, profiles, various building mixtures, thermal insulation materials. Therefore, it would be nice to buy all this in a set. This will simplify and speed up the work, increase the reliability of the structure. If it is not possible to purchase a kit, then you need to take care of the proper quality of materials purchased separately, so that their characteristics are as close as possible to Knauf's products.

The basic requirements that are necessary for the long service life of Knauf drywall are as follows:

  • It is necessary to carry out installation using Knauf GKVL. This prevents damage to the material when the frame profile freezes.
  • To prevent deformation or sagging of the frame under the mass of gypsum board, long profiles should be installed in a staggered manner
  • For fastening, special Knauf screws or LN9 screws are used, you can also use a plasterboard cutter
  • Docking of sheets is prohibited above the doorway, this is done so that vibration and the weight of the door itself does not damage the connection of the sheets
  • After assembling the frame, it is imperative to protect its surface with thermal insulation tape to protect it from freezing

Under the guidance of these rules, following all Knauf's instructions and recommendations for installing drywall, you will achieve the best result, and the repair will not have to be updated for many years to come.

Installation of drywall using Knauf technology

Installation of plasterboard Knauf sheets does not differ much from working with gypsum boards of other manufacturers. The difference is that Knauf produces almost everything you need for plasterboard wall and ceiling cladding, and all this is a complete system, which will simplify and improve the work, because all parts fit perfectly to each other, you do not need to suffer with non-standard fasteners and others troubles.

Technology of wall cladding and installation of drywall partitions Knauf

Under the gypsum board Knauf Wall prepare in the same way as for other brands. First, they are cleaned of the remnants of past repairs (old wallpaper, frame elements). The surface is primed, treated with special compounds to protect against corrosion. If there are cracks in the wall, they must be repaired with plaster.

Instructions for installing Knauf drywall on walls and when creating partitions:

  1. A plan of the frame is thought out, a crate is created on it - first vertical guides, then horizontal ones. The more horizontal, the greater the strength and rigidity of the structure. The frame is mounted from a galvanized steel profile, it is desirable that it also be Knauf stamps... But you can also use wooden blocks to create a frame;
  2. The frame is of two types: static and hinged. The first is attached directly to the wall, because of this it is considered more reliable, and the second is attached to specially designed suspensions. This takes up space in your apartment, but it can be very convenient for hiding communications;
  3. The voids between the profile are filled mineral wool or other similar material for better thermal insulation and protection from external noise;
  4. If you want to cut a sheet, use a hacksaw to mark over the entire surface of the sheet, and then gently break off. The ends are treated with a primer;
  5. Drywall is attached to the profile either with Knauf screws or self-tapping screws. The step should not be more than 25 centimeters, according to the calculation, there are 8 self-tapping screws for each sheet;
  6. A special tape is glued to the seams of joining the sheets, which is then covered with plaster;
  7. From fine finishing drywall only needs a primer, then you can lay on it decorative tiles or stick wallpaper.

Knauf drywall mounting technology on the ceiling

The assembly of the frame for Knauf drywall is made in several ways, depending on design features the ceiling and the room itself. Used for this and wooden beams, and a metal profile. Five types of structures are most often used:

  • "System 111". It is used for wooden blocks. The frame is biaxial. The material is wood conifers, humidity not more than 12%, otherwise, after drying, the frame will be strongly deformed
  • P 112. It is made of a metal profile Knauf, also biaxial
  • П 113. The same frame as the previous one, but executed in one axis. For these two types, the usual galvanized profile for ceilings is used.
  • П 131. A significant difference from the others - the profile is fastened not to the ceiling, but to the walls. Should provide even greater rigidity, therefore, a reinforced Knauf profile designed for the creation of drywall partition systems
  • P 19. A complex multi-level structure is a striking representative of architectural and decorative ceilings

Data-lazy-type = "image" data-src = "https://remontcap.ru/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/04-77-600x338..jpg 600w, https://remontcap.ru/ wp-content / uploads / 2017/10 / 04-77-600x338-300x169.jpg 300w "sizes =" (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px ">

Installation timber frame happens in several ways:

  • By means of direct suspension or quick suspension. Applying the second one, you need to change the side of the attachment in turn
  • Directly to the ceiling with self-tapping screws

The frame made of a metal profile is mounted with multilevel hangers. P 113 is used where there will be heavy ceilings, therefore, the material for it is wall profile, and the distance between the dowels should be no more than 30 cm.

You will significantly reduce the time spent on repairs and save energy if you follow some of the tips and recommendations:

  • Fastening the sheets should start from the corner or from the center in order to protect the sheet from deformation and cracks
  • The edge of the sheet must be chamfered with a drywall plane. But for different types under different angles(45 or 22.5)

Knauf's technology for installing drywall provides for sealing joints using a special tape:

  1. First, the seam is filled with putty;
  2. Then laying the tape for the seams;
  3. Covering the tape with a thin layer of putty.

Also, a special Knauf separating tape is installed between the gypsum board sheet and the outer corner.

German Knauf firm has long been considered the European and world building standard, and the set of measures, which in our country is called European-quality renovation, is based on the achievements, materials and technologies obtained thanks to the developments of this particular company.

Without going too deep into historical digressions and amendments, just for the sake of interest, I would like to note that this company, which began as a family business in Bavaria, presents its products in almost 40 countries around the world. And the total number of enterprises of this corporation of "monsters" (in a good and business context) has long crossed the mark of 200. But now let's leave the historical and statistical calculations and move on to more practical things- technologies.

Basic principles of technology and policy

Thanks to its principles, mixed with German quality, the company quickly became a leader: they reckon with it and listen to its opinion all over the world. It is not for nothing that Knauf has practically no full-fledged competitors in the world market.

This success is based on two basic principles:

  • Offer the consumer only proven and high-quality materials;
  • Carry out the process of repair and construction strictly in accordance with the declared technologies. For this purpose, on the basis of specially created training centers plasterboard craftsmen are trained.

The company meticulously pays attention to all the little things. Considering that they, as such, cannot be - everything is important.

Let's start from the basics

Installation instructions for Knauf drywall begins with coverage of the selection of materials and tools. It is clear that the company tried to declare its products, but as they say, it has the right to do so.

  1. Plasterboard sheets of four main types:
  • Plasterboard ordinary sheets, are intended for interior decoration of premises for which there are no special requirements: living rooms, classrooms, offices;
  • Moisture resistant gypsum plasterboard, which has a direct road to bathrooms, kitchens and others indoor spaces where is present high humidity;
  • Fireproof drywall, or special, is used to hide heating routes in rooms, as well as to hide electrical wiring, especially lines leading to common wiring;
  • Combined fire and moisture resistant sheet... It does not need additional explanation and introduction.

For your information! For the convenience of sellers and buyers, each drywall sheet has its own color and its own marking. V household use the most demanded and frequently purchased are ordinary gypsum plasterboards and moisture-resistant gypsum plasterboards, sheet thickness 12.5 mm on the walls, and 9 mm on the ceiling

  1. Metal profiles. Their purpose is to construct a frame on a ceiling or wall in order to install plasterboard sheets in one plane. At the same time, it is allowed, and sometimes encouraged, the creation multilevel structures on the ceiling according to individual projects, as well as the construction of built-in furniture, niches, supporting or zoning structures. Here, the leading profiles are also of four types:
  • Ceiling CD profile is used to create lathing on the ceiling;
  • Guide ceiling UD profile, the profile with which a single (base) level is established for the entire ceiling structure, is placed along the perimeter of the walls as close to the ceiling as possible (if it is not about raster variations, with a deliberate lowering of the ceiling level);
  • Rack CW profile, similar to the ceiling CD. It is from him that the jamb of the wall sheathing is formed, he also takes an active part in the creation of built-in niches, false walls, partitions;
  • Guide for CW profile UW profile. Analogue of UD with application in wall structures, the directions of application are the same as for CW.

  1. Connecting and extension elements, mounting options:
  • Suspension and direct, and universal, and difficult to replace 120 mm. This is a really worthwhile invention, intended for fixing profiles to stationary walls and ceilings, installation is done with self-tapping screws for metal, protruding parts are bent inward. By the way, the suspension is the leader in terms of the number of popular names;
  • Extension for ceiling profiles CD-60. The main purpose is to cover the entire length of the room.

For your information! Knauf drywall installation technology involves the use of exclusively "native" parts described in this subsection.

Well, for fans of pure experiments, we inform you, of course, technologies exist and they must be observed. And for practitioners - everything that is described in this paragraph is perfectly replaced by fragments of the UD-27 profile. The only thing that will be technologically more difficult to replace is a direct suspension.

  • One-level connector, crab type, cross-piece for connecting ceiling profiles CD. In this design, the overlay occurs on the main CD profile, and the side profiles are represented by cuttings of the required length;

  • Two-level ceiling connecting element. The purpose of this structure is to join the battens when approaching the profile near a natural obstacle. T-shaped connection;
  • Suspension for raster and hinged structures designed to significantly lower the ceiling level. Gift of raster designs. One suspension can support up to 25 kg of ceiling weight.
  1. Putties and primers. Everything is simple here, despite the variety of specimens presented, all of them can be grouped. And then we get the following:
  • Alpha gypsum based joint filler, with and without additives;

  • Starting putty for finishing plasterboard surfaces;
  • Finishing putty, used for the final finishing of the same surfaces, the main difference from the previous putty is the size of the fractions;
  • Primer deep penetration Knauf. The purpose of the application is the impregnation of the material with leveling the layer and preparation for painting or finishing with wallpaper, tiles or decorative tiles.
  1. Tools. A lot of attention was paid to this point and there is no special need to list the entire set, but in order to refresh memories, we recall that there are tools:
  • Mandatory - their set is easy to calculate independently, based on the operations for which they will be used. Namely, cutting and cutting drywall sheets, cutting metal profiles, joining profiles and hanging drywall sheets and their fragments onto the crate;
  • Additional - this is the so-called professional appendix, which will allow you to carry out without problems drywall works provided that these works relate to your professional activity... In this case, you will need:
  • Strut lift, which allows you to do the work with your own hands without helpers;
  • Laser level for "zeroing" the surface level;
  • Screppprofile is not an essential tool, but it allows you to connect profiles to each other without self-tapping screws, it can also be used to connect any soft metal products, for example, when working with galvanized;
  • A profile cutter is a master's tool, the purpose of which is to punch a hole in a structure for laying an electrical wire;

  • Roughing and edging planers, designed exclusively for working with drywall, one removes pieces of cardboard that are obtained when cutting the material, the second prepares the butting edge for joining at angles at 45 degrees;
  • A needle roller is a tool for applying defects to a plasterboard sheet in order to give the surface a curved shape. It is used when working with the "wet" method.

Alphonse and Karl Knauf are siblings. Both received the education of a mining engineer and, by the nature of their activities, were especially interested in natural material- plaster. Having studied its properties, they decided to use them in order to speed up, reduce the cost and improve the quality of some construction processes.

The implementation of their project fell on the time of the economic crisis. As if time itself helped the future tycoons of the construction industry. In 1932 they founded Reinische Gipsindustri und Bergwerxunternemen.

By collecting Required documents and having received an indulgence to develop a gypsum mine in Schengen, the brothers opened a plant in the city of Perl. There they began to produce dry mortars based on natural gypsum for plastering surfaces.

In 1949, in the city of Iphofen, which is located in Northern Bavaria, the Knaufs established a plant for the production building mixtures based on gypsum. The headquarters of Knauf is also located here. In 1958, they opened the first plasterboard plant.

During the German economic boom, the company developed rapidly and from a relatively small enterprise turned into a family with subsidiaries around the world. In 1993 they start their activities in Russia. A lot of enterprises equipped with modern equipment are opening across the country, where a single production technology and quality standard are used.

Knauf products

But Knauf does not rest on its laurels, the company develops new projects, offers the consumer:

  • palette of related products. The assortment is expanding due to specialized tools, metal profiles, development of new materials;
  • building mixtures not only based on gypsum, but also other innovative compositions;
  • special courses are held where theoretical training is carried out. Those wishing to acquire practical skills in construction and design.

Knauf enterprises produce high-quality finishing materials:

  • gypsum fiber sheets;
  • tongue-and-groove gypsum boards;
  • dry gypsum and cement mixtures;
  • primers, other compositions for interior finishing, ready for quick use;
  • construction chemistry;
  • metal profiles;
  • drywall sheets.

We will dwell on the last two groups of products and tell you what drywall and Knauf profile are, about production characteristics, dimensions and installation.

Varieties of Knauf drywall

The products manufactured by this manufacturer are used to perform work on interior decoration"Dry" method. It is practical and fast. Drywall sheet is classified by properties:

  • ordinary, some builders also call it standard,
  • moisture resistant,
  • refractory.

Plasterboard

A sheet of ordinary (standard) drywall is used in rooms where natural temperature conditions and normal humidity are maintained. They can be veneered interior walls residential premises, offices, enterprises.

Standard sheets differ in appearance from other types in color scheme- have grey colour and blue markings. They are not expensive and are used much more frequently than others.

Having studied its characteristics, we talked about them in detail in the article "", we can state that such a sheet:

  • not dangerous for people and the environment;
  • helps to radically change the space and interior of the room. With the help of such a sheet, a partition, an arch, a fireplace are quickly erected;
  • it is perfectly revetted with any finishing materials: plaster, tiles, wallpaper, paint, stone;
  • it is easy to cut and takes the required configuration.

When you plan to make repairs in your home and change the contours of its premises, you can use the Knauf drywall sheets below for the walls:

Moisture resistant gypsum board

Sheets moisture resistant drywall should be used where high humidity is expected or the room is poorly ventilated. The technical characteristics of the sheet make it possible to install additional partitions, ennoble the walls:

  • in the shower, bathroom;
  • in pools and saunas;
  • in toilets;
  • in sanitary facilities.

For these works, it is better to use the Knauf sheets shown in the table below:

The color of the leaf is green and has blue markings.

Fire-resistant gypsum plasterboard sheets are used where there is an elevated temperature and it is necessary to strictly observe the measures for fire safety... The technical characteristics of the named finishing material indicate that they can:

  • cladding the walls of wooden buildings;
  • to carry out installation in home boilers, furnaces, sanitary facilities of enterprises;
  • ennoble fireplaces;
  • sheathe the walls of the evacuation exits.

For these purposes, Knauf offers the following sheets:

It differs from other types of GKLO pink and red markings.

Now that you know what types of drywall there are, its dimensions, specifications, insignia, you can proceed to the next section and find out how the sheets are mounted to a vertical surface.

Elements of the metal frame

All metal profiles at Knauf factories are manufactured according to the conditions TU 1121-012-04001508-2011... These are elements of a certain length, made of steel strip by the method of cold rolling on modern roll forming machines. They are covered with a galvanized coating to protect against aggressive environmental influences.

With the help of such structures, a frame for cladding is assembled, it is they who serve as a rigid base, on which gypsum plasterboards are then laid.

Profiles have standard length: 2750, 3000, 4000, 4500 mm. But at the request and agreement with the customer, their height can vary from 500 to 6000 mm.

Cutting and assembling metal products is carried out using specialized tools such as electric shears, cutters, a hacksaw for metal or other devices.

The frame requires the following structures:

  • rack profile. By outward appearance similar to the letter "C" and acts as the vertical racks of the future frame. It is assembled together with a guide rail. You can learn about its geometric dimensions from the article "";
  • guide profile. This part is U-shaped. In the frame, it functions as a guide for the rack profile and serves for the installation of jumpers.
  • ceiling guide profile. It has the shape of the letter P. It is needed in the frame as a guide for ceiling profile and for mounting a lintel over the opening;
  • ceiling profile. It is presented in the form of a C-shaped long piece and performs the function vertical rack frame. To mount it to the wall, a straight hanger is used, which can be fixed with screws;
  • screws and dowels are used as fasteners, which are described in detail in the article "";

Installation of gypsum board on walls using Knauf technology

Knauf gypsum plasterboards are quite popular material in the Russian construction market. The technology of their installation has a significant advantage over other facing building materials.

The absence of so-called wet processes during operation significantly reduces the time and installation becomes easier. With minimal labor and money costs, a perfectly flat surface is achieved.

The designers had a unique opportunity to realize their most daring projects. And the technology of stacking sheets is so simple that a person who is far from construction can do it.

It is worth remembering that installation work should be carried out under normal humidity and temperature conditions.

Methods for installing drywall on walls

You need to know that GCR can be installed in two ways, each of them has its own technical differences:

  • frameless method. In this version, the sheet is simply glued to the base. But you should know that the area to be treated must be very even and always clean;
  • using a frame. It can be presented in the form of a structure made of lumber and metal. Wooden one will cost a little less, but it is not so easy to use and not durable. But the metal set of Knauf profiles is widely known and popular among professionals and amateurs. All parts are produced at the drywall manufacturing plant and have a relatively low price.

We will dwell on this technique in more detail, reveal its technical aspects and give recommendations from the manufacturer.

By Knauf technology the whole process should include the following steps:

  1. Frame preparation;
  2. Installing it;
  3. Sheathing of the frame with sheets;

Installation work should begin before the installation of a clean floor, provided that the wiring of sanitary, technical and electrical systems. Temperature regime not less than +10 ° С and humidity should be normal, these are mandatory requirements according to SNiP 23-02-2003... If winter time- the building must be heated.

This technology makes it possible to insulate a room without problems, improve sound insulation in it, lay and hide communications, create various structural elements.

Required tools for installation

Each specialist has a certain minimum of tools and devices. We recommend you standard set, which you cannot do without:

  • building level, plumb line, hydro level;
  • screwdriver, puncher;
  • scissors for metal, electric shears, grinder;
  • assembly knife;
  • simple pencil;
  • roulette;
  • a thread;
  • sealing tape.

Installation of a metal frame on the walls

This profile is more durable and reliable. All its varieties are produced in industrial enterprises Knauf and meet the standards. The installation process undergoes quality control at all stages of work: first after installing the frame, then after laying the drywall, then - the arrangement of joints and seams.

  1. Let's carry out the markings on the floor surface, and then transfer it to the ceiling and walls. In order to make the installation error-free, experts recommend marking the attachment points of the rack-mount profiles, the type and thickness of the gypsum board.
  2. On the rack and guide profiles adjacent to the enclosing structural elements, it is necessary to stick a sealing tape or apply a special sealant composition. Install the guide profiles according to the markings and then screw them to the horizontal surfaces of the floor and ceiling. The step should not exceed 1000 mm, and there should be at least 3 fasteners per profile.
  3. According to the marking marks, fix the straight hangers to the wall using the appropriate dowels. Step no more than 1500 mm. To weaken the “sound bridges”, insert sealing tape between them.
  4. Install the profiles in the guides and fix them with screws. Interfering ends of the hangers should be bent or cut off.

Plasterboard laying on a metal frame

This technology is as follows:

  1. We start working from the corner with a step for screws of 250 mm. They should be no closer than 15 mm from the edge of the transverse end, and 10 mm from the longitudinal end. If you are going to have a double cladding of the surface, it is allowed to increase the step by 3 times. It is better to start from the corner of the largest wall of the room.
  2. Plasterboard on the walls is laid in the vertical direction and in whole sheets. Small fragments are filled in later. If there is a difference between the heights of the wall and the gypsum board, and the latter is less than the first, then segments of the guide profile are added to the horizontal joints and then the gypsum board is sheathed.

Docking of sheets is done in a staggered manner. Avoid joints at window pillars or where a drywall doorway is. As a result, a crack will necessarily appear in this place. It is better to pre-install the intermediate profile and additionally fix the sheet.

The caps of self-tapping screws or screws should be well sunk into the surface by 1 mm or more. After puttying, there will be no grooves on the surface.

Moments that must not be forgotten when installing gypsum board on walls

Do not forget to leave a gap of 10-15 mm in height between the gypsum board and the floor, and 5 mm in the abutment to the ceiling. Subsequently, it will be closed with a putty solution and will be glued with a separating tape, the edges of which will then be carefully cut off.

The outer mating corners can be reinforced with a protective perforated corner. finishing it will completely fill up.

Where the sheet is mated with door or window frames, decorate its edges with decorative platbands when you make the finishing.

For moisture-resistant plasterboard sheets, screws with a sharper cone head are used. The step is not more than 300 mm.

If there is a need to hang a hundred either on the wall, then know that with a weight of no more than 10-15 kg per 1 running meter wall surface, it can be fixed using special anchor bolts for gypsum board or dowels for gypsum board anywhere. It may not be heavy openwork shelves, cornices, paintings, sconces or others. lighting... But if you plan to exploit kitchen cabinets, then additional embedded parts must be installed in the places of future fastening. Specialists should take care of this during the installation process. metal frame.

As soon as your walls have received a new outfit, you should start puttingty, processing the joints and places where the caps of the screws are located.
But we will talk about this in the article, which will be called ";".
