How to create a flower garden in the country. Beautiful design and decoration of flower beds and flower beds in the country

Decorate your dacha with a flower bed "like in a magazine" - why not? But before you go shopping for expensive materials, take a look around. In any country house, there are definitely items that should have been landfilled for a long time. Here they are for you.

Old furniture, shoes, drawers, and even sawn wood can be a great base for a future flower bed. You just need to connect your imagination, and the result will be brilliant! In any case, a neighbor in the country will definitely not have this.

We invite you to look for a suitable option among our tips.

1. Use tapeworm plants

Many summer residents prefer to use the so-called tapeworm to decorate their plots - a single plant that sets the tone for the entire flower bed. If a we are talking about large area, be it a square or a park, then a tree or shrub usually acts as a tapeworm there. As for the flower bed, in this case it would be appropriate to use plants that take the form of a dense bush (socket). The tapeworm should look good from all sides, because in most cases it is planted in the center of the flower bed, at the entrance to the house, at the turn of the garden path. An excellent backdrop for a tapeworm will be a lawn or other well-groomed area.

As a tapeworm, you can use marsh iris, Rogersia, peonies, daylilies, park roses. On a large plot, the role of a tapeworm will be perfectly played by hawthorn or lilac. In flowerbeds, tapeworms should not be tall, therefore, in landscape design, mallows or delphiniums are rarely used for this role - on open area these tall plants may look disproportionate.

It is important that the tapeworm should please the eye throughout the season. Therefore, when choosing a plant, it is important to consider not only the flowering time, but also the decorative effect of the leaves. For example, irises and daylilies, even after flowering, are able to decorate a flower bed thanks to their long beautiful leaves.

2. Try to create a flower arrangement

If you are a happy owner of a large plot, you can try to create an array on it - a large flower arrangement. It will become a real highlight of your garden. As a rule, flowers are planted in large clearings, away from the paths. Often, such landings are appropriate where it is necessary to decorate a corner or wall zone.

As a rule, plants of one, two or three colors are used in arrays.

When creating an array, landscape designers recommend observing tiering - starting with tall plants(they will be in the background) and gradually reduce their height. For the first (highest) tier, mallow, delphinium, tall lilies are brilliant. For low plants, cosmea or lily of the valley loosestrife will be a suitable background. The lowest tier should stand out with something - either its graphics or color.

3. Car tires - a classic country fashion

A good service in the design of the site can be done by old car tires, which seem to be not needed, but it’s a pity to throw them away. With a certain amount of imagination, they can be used to create original flower beds to the envy of the neighbors.

Car tires are good because they can be placed anywhere on the site, in a different order. You can paint them either in one or in different colors, hang tires on trees or put one on top of the other, beat it differently. But before you begin to form a flower bed, wash the tires from dirt, degrease with acetone, and only then start painting.

4. Flower beds made of stones - a durable and budget option

Homemade flower beds made of stones are very popular. Probably because this "good" in the country is always enough. In addition, if you lay the stones correctly, such flower beds will be durable and stylish.

5. A flower bed of bottles - an old idea in a new way

In many dachas, you can also see flower beds built from plastic and glass bottles. Maybe it's not fashionable anymore. But why should the good go to waste? And even if such a flower bed does not look as chic as, for example, made of stone, it has other advantages. Such a flower bed, if necessary, is easy to repair. And when you get bored, you can generally remove it or redo it. And you can create an original vertical composition.

You need to form a flower bed from bottles filled with earth (not empty). So they will be more stable.

6. Wooden flower beds - what is now in trend

good solution in country design there will be wooden flower beds, and they can be both horizontal and vertical. You can also organize a flower bed in the trunk of an old dry tree, if you have one on the site. If there is no tree, but a good stump remains from it, then you can use it.

And if you are from construction or finishing works there are a lot of wooden bars left, you can make a wonderful fence for a flower garden from them.

7. Do you always follow the rules? Round flower bed - your option

Round flower beds are a real decoration of any gardens and plots. True, there is one nuance here: in order for your flower bed to really decorate, and not look like an incomprehensible spot, you need to plant flowers according to certain rules: high - in the center, then medium, and at the edges - undersized.

If you have good taste, you can try planting flowers of the same height, but it is important to pay attention to their color.

8. Don't like when the land is empty? Break the flower beds under the trees

As for the flower bed around the tree, making it is not as easy as it seems at first glance. First, you need to consider how compatible (if any) the tree and the plants that you plan to plant under it are. There are trees - birch, willow, Walnut, maple, pine, which can not stand any vegetation next to them. They will fight the "aliens" to the end for nutrients and moisture, and then the plants will not have a chance to grow in this flower bed. But under such trees you can sow lawn grass.

And here fruit trees- apple and pear, as well as mountain ash, linden and oak - will always be glad to new "neighbors". Under them, you can safely create a flower bed. True, only those plants that love shade are suitable for her - lily of the valley, lungwort, snowdrop, fern, violet, bulbous. Lovers of the sun run the risk of withering under wide crowns.

Flowerbed in trunk circle do so. Be careful not to damage root system tree, remove the top layer of soil. The bottom of the dug groove is covered with a non-woven material that will protect the root system of plants and restrain its growth. Coming from suitable material(pebbles, broken brick and crushed stone) form a drainage layer 10 cm thick. Instead of soil around the tree trunk, a mixture of compost, soddy soil and peat is laid with the addition of complex mineral fertilizers.

Before planting flowers, the flower bed must be moistened. Free lots cover with sawdust or wood chips. Stones (bricks) are laid out along the edges of the flower bed or a border made of other materials is arranged. It will not only protect the soil from leaching during watering, but also give the flower bed an additional zest.

It is not at all necessary that the flower bed under the tree be round. If you want, you can make it asymmetrical. And there are no strict requirements for the arrangement of flowers. The only thing to consider is that tall flowers are planted closer to the tree trunk.

9. Rabatka - for lovers of clarity and order

Most often, flowers in such flower beds have approximately the same height. And if, when making a rabatka, you must strictly adhere to the rule of the same height, then you can easily experiment with the color of plants.

Among all the flower beds, the rabatka is distinguished precisely by geometric rigor. Such is the decorative specificity of the flower bed. In the discount, you can notice the repetition of colors, shades and shapes. How complex the composition will be depends on the designer's imagination, as well as on the area allotted for creating a flower bed. The easiest option is to make a bed with a couple of stripes of flowers. bright flowers can be staggered. In order to create a delightful visual effect, you can plant flowers in whole sections of various shapes.

Mixborders are often called discounts, but this is wrong. On the one hand, they are really similar - mixborders are also long and narrow, like ridges, they are often used to decorate paths. But on the other hand, the discount is a more strict flower bed. It was created to emphasize with its clarity and accuracy how well-groomed the garden is. As for mixborders, they are very close to natural nature and therefore ideal for creating a landscape style, thanks to their smooth lines and colorful shades.

flower vase

Well, at the end of the selection, I propose to go to the page with materials on ideas with flower beds, vases and jugs -

The blooming garden is especially beautiful, so we try to extend the time of admiring it. To do this, we arrange long-term flower beds in the garden and in the country. And we specially select flowers there that delight us from April to November.

The landscape will become luxurious from the community of early and late species. After all, the flowering period itself is short, then we will close the dried buds with blooming newcomers.

perennials

The decoration will facilitate care: they sprout and grow here for several years. Although we correct their growth, remove dried leaves and weeds. But we do not need to sow seeds every year, grow and plant capricious seedlings.

Decorating spring flower beds

  • These are primroses: blueberries, snowdrops, hyacinths, crocuses. And by June, daffodils, tulips, lilies and hazel grouse will make the garden bright and festive.
  • Closer to the edge we will plant blueberries, muscari, further - multi-colored tall varieties. Beautiful flower garden, combining small and large bulbous plants.
  • By summer, irises will bloom. Designers say that flower beds in the country house with irises are beautiful in an independent flower bed. In this case, it is better to plant them in different varieties and shades.
  • Spring islands of tulips, daffodils gracefully frame delicate and fragrant hyacinths.
  • Beautiful Moorish lawn with bright patches of tulips and sunny daffodils.
  • Noble lilies effectively coexist with summer flowers.

Advice! Avoid dense planting of bulbs: they will need a place to grow. In the meantime, we will cover the free land with sawdust.

Flowerbeds from summer varieties

In the photo - a riot of colors in a summer flowerbed

  • Perennials propagate by roots, cuttings, seeds, bulbs.
  • For a flower bed, we will select several varieties, the buds of which appear alternately until the cold weather. For example, lilies, pelargoniums, followed by foxglove, catnip.
  • Rich primrose buds of various shades majestically frame the flower garden and create a unique color palette.
  • The undersized perennial primrose blooms first and surprises us with its fresh emerald greens until frost. Therefore, the flower bed along cottage path would benefit from this vibrant border plant.

  • Aristocratic roses colorfully coexist with white, burgundy or pink phlox, blooming at the same time. The showiness of a rose will be exquisitely greened by yarrow or lavender. The game of contrasts only emphasizes the individuality of each plant.
  • Delphinium is remarkable in that it blooms a second time, if we cut off the dried buds and some branches and fertilize the ground. Then for 4 years it smells sweet in one place, delighting with luxurious shades, and undersized perennials emphasize its beauty.

  • Globular clusters of ornamental onions, garden chamomile, rich lilies and the majestic delphinium will perfectly decorate the landscape. They are especially beautiful when planted in groups.

  • Bluebells, violets, styloid phloxes, oxalis and euphorbia grow rapidly and this inhibits the growth of their neighbors. Therefore, we will limit their territory with a curb tape.

Autumn flowers

  • In autumn, colorful asters reign, then September (Alpine asters) and, finally, chrysanthemums.
  • The diversity of asters delights: from delicate white, pink, lilac to rich and bright purple, burgundy.
  • chrysanthemums different varieties, sizes and shades bloom until frost.

  • Hosts surprise original form, emerald embossed greenery and amazing endurance. Heat, cold, drought, shade do not harm them.

Trouble-free annuals

Growing through seedlings will bring flowering closer. And renting a diesel generator for a summer residence is useful and not expensive, but we will grow not only flower seedlings, but also vegetable seedlings in a greenhouse, and buying it costs a lot.

Advice! We choose varieties that are hardy to cold, drought, then neither late nor early frosts will harm them, and they will not dry out from skipping watering.

The price of seeds is minimal. We will not buy bags with a mixture of seeds of different types, but of the same color: white, red, pink or blue. low views drowned out high, and comfortable conditions various.

For neat low flower beds

species name Description Growing instructions
Nemophila New for us low (25 cm) graceful plant with openwork greenery.

Its frost-resistant 3 varieties are especially popular: with bright blue petals, white with blue dots and dark with a white frame.

We will sow nemophila in May, and a month and a half later we will delight our guests with its wonderful novelty.
Limnantes Douglas Charming, but still a rare guest of our landscapes.

Lovely and elegant small buds of sunny yellow color.

We will sow it in May, and in a month the bushes will already be strewn with "suns".
Phloxes Abundantly flowering, with a long flowering period.

Inflorescences are simple (any shades) or white-red star-shaped adorn half-meter or dwarf bushes.

especially beautiful terry varieties growing in decorative baskets.

Prefers south side.

Eschsolzia Poppy sun-loving Eschsholzia bloom only for 1 day, and immediately new bright buds with simple or double petals appear. It blooms a month after sowing and flaunts among the greenery for 2 months.

We can sow in sandy soil until June.

Pansies Their best mixtures are Rococo with wavy multi-colored flowers or Pure crystals with amazing yellow, blue or snow-white petals without dark dots. We will sow them in partial shade in May.

We also sow in the middle of summer: then, having overwintered, they will bloom in the spring.

For lush flower beds

High flowering plants decorate comfortable, but typical country houses from block containers. They will give a characteristic originality.

Conclusion

A self-made flower bed will open up the freedom of creativity and experimentation, when buds of different types beautifully renew the landscape throughout the season. Unusual configurations of flowering islands in the garden, on the lawns and in the yard are interesting. Bright colors petals will fill us with joy and life-giving energy.

For successful result we learn about the requirements of the plants we have chosen: the place and time of their planting, flowering, soil preferences. And after watching the video in this article, we will become even more competent in this matter.

Which of the owners suburban area I would not like to decorate it with a beautiful, elegant and constantly blooming flower bed? Almost everyone. After all, you want the site to be beautiful and pleasing to the eye. However, the arrangement of a flower bed is actually not so quick and easy: here you need to take into account different nuances(selection of plants, features of their flowering, color combinations, design schemes and much more).

Annual flowers for a simple flower bed

First of all, when organizing a simple flower bed, you should pay attention to the fact that all ornamental plants have a variety of life forms. There are those that need to be sown every year anew. There are biennials that bloom only in the second year of life. There are also perennial plants, blooming brighter and more magnificent every year.

If you plant plants from seeds for a simple and beautiful flower bed, then only annual plants will be able to bloom this year. Some of them begin to bloom only after 13 - 15 weeks. These species include late asters, high marigolds, verbena, salvia, petunia, lobelia.

These flowers can only be grown through seedlings, while other annuals can be safely planted immediately in the ground.

For example:

  • dahlias;
  • marigold;
  • matthiola;
  • calendula;
  • nastrutium;
  • Phlox Drummond
  • escholzia;
  • cornflower.

The above plants can be sown in early or mid-May, and you can observe their beautiful flowering as early as July-August. decorative annual plants appears only in the second half of summer.

It is worth noting that growing flowers through seedlings significantly accelerates the timing of their flowering. And planting ready-made sprouts in a flower bed is somewhat more pleasant than waiting for seedlings.

Creating a flower garden

To create a harmonious and beautiful flower garden plants should be planted in groups: high ones are left for the background, low ones for the foreground.

There are two most simple ways flower bed design:

  1. White-pink gamma. For such a scheme, you can use pink, white lavater, pink cosmea, placing them in groups in the background. Closer to the center place white and pink zinnias. In the foreground, Godetia will also look good. The edges of the flower garden for a more accurate design can be edged with allisum. Also a good highlight of such a flower garden will be a cornflower.
  2. Annual flowers are reddish-orange. Here scarlet amaranth with groups will come into the background decorative sunflowers. You can also add groups of yellow and red zinnias,. While the zinnias are growing, the eschollia will look good between them. You can also add red and yellow asters, a little marigold, and undersized marigolds will be a great border for the edge of the flower bed.

Flower bed layout

Before organizing a simple flower bed, you should carefully plan what and how to plant, in what order and colors. And for this, a couple of tips will come in handy.

  • Absolutely all flowers move their heads following the sun. And therefore, if the review opens on the flowerbed from north side, then most day the flowers will be turned away from you. It is recommended to plant flowers in such a flower bed that do not follow the sun so clearly. These include: marigolds, zinnias, irises, lupins, buzulnik Rocket, delphinium.
  • If the site for the flower bed is located along the fence, through which people passing through can admire your flowers, then make a choice in advance: the flower bed should please you or passers-by.
  • When sowing seeds, a sufficient distance should be left between different groups of plants. It’s better at the end of June that the flower bed will look a little empty, but in July you won’t have to free some plants from others, more aggressive and sprawling.
  • When planning a flower bed, careful attention should always be paid to the height of the selected plants, which is usually indicated on the seed packaging. You also need to follow the recommendations for the distance between them. If shoots are too frequent, they can be carefully dug up and transplanted. However, some plants do not tolerate this procedure very well.
  • If you decide to collect seeds from flowers that have a certain shade, then do not be lazy and mark the selected plant in advance, immediately after flowering begins. Since the next weekend the flowers may fade and get lost among the "comrades" painted in a different color scheme.
  • For long-term flowering of annuals and perennial flowers, it is necessary from time to time to remove already faded inflorescences, as well as fruits and ovaries. In this way, you can maintain the decorativeness of your flower bed.
  • Do not sow seeds of the same species in too large an area. When its flowering time passes, you can get a very unsightly, empty area, which can greatly disrupt the holistic look of a simple flower bed.
  • It is impossible not to note the curious property of some flowers, for example, escholcia, the buds of which close in cloudy weather. And the tricolor bindweed closes with the onset of the second half of the day. But mattiola, on the contrary, opens up and begins to smell sweet only in the evening and at night.

How to organize continuous flowering

The most decorative look can be obtained by achieving harmonious combination annuals and perennials. This combination will allow your flower bed to bloom almost continuously from the beginning of May until the onset of frost.

The use of perennial flowers has a number of undoubted advantages. They need to be grown and planted only once every few years. Such plants do not require overly careful care, but every year they delight more and more. lush bloom. Perennials are easy to grow from seeds that you can collect yourself or can be purchased at a nearby store.

If you planned to organize a flower bed continuous flowering, then be sure to use bearded irises and lupins. Already in June, your flower garden will be shrouded and very beautiful flowers iris, sparkling among the green foliage. Shade-tolerant and picky Turkish carnation, as well as red and bright lychnis, will pick up the flowering baton. Long-blooming and powerful foxglove and light, delicate butterflies escholzia will bloom almost simultaneously.

Flower bed in the shade: which plants to choose (video)

Poppy, nastrutium, salvia, kosmeya, cornflower, calendula, marigolds, dahlias, gladioli and lilies bloom in the Yule. At the end of August, magnificent asters will gladly take over the flowering round dance.

Flowerbed design schemes

picking up various plants By combining them, you can create an almost infinite number of variations of a simple but very effective flower bed. But if you are new to this business, it will be easier to use already ready-made options and simple circuits creating flower beds.

  1. Central flower bed - this scheme is the easiest to organize a flower garden. It is made up of circles. The center is filled with cannes with dark leaves, which are the soloists of the whole composition, then green-leaved cannes are planted in a circle around the border, the third row is decorative leafy gnafalium and the snapdragon completes this parade.
  2. Viennese flower. To create such an option, it will be necessary to organize a six-leaf flower in a flower bed, the center of which will be white levkoy, the border for which will be alpine forget-me-nots. The outer edge is well organized with islands of viola, zinnia, primrose.
  3. A fancy pattern is a round flower bed that is decorated large quantity wave-like elements, decorated with colorful, sun-loving perennials. In the center of such a flower bed, you can place a squat hamerops, which has a beautiful crown of fan leaves. Its shadow will be a good background for dahlia zinnia, and the coleus will act as a contrast. Fancy curls can be created using begonias and pelargoniums, which will look very impressive against the backdrop of lawn grass.

The proposed schemes are just a few of the many options. Or maybe you already have your creative ideas for the design of a beautiful flower bed - amazing decoration your site?

Bright spots of flower beds and flower beds on the site are not only a way to decorate the site. They perfectly distract attention from some problem areas. By the way, this can also be guided when choosing a place. We will talk further about how to make flower beds and flower beds with your own hands in the country, in the courtyard of a private house. This is not an easy task, of course, but it does not require knowledge of higher mathematics.

What are

First of all, let's find out what is the difference between flower beds and flower beds. The flowerbed has clear boundaries and shape: circle, oval, square. Most often, it is separated from the rest of the site and raised above it. This kind landscape design we most often observe in parks, on the streets.

This is a flower bed. It has a clear, strictly defined shape and geometrically correctly arranged plants.

A flower garden is any place for planting plants of an arbitrary shape. It happens with a fence, and sometimes without. Flower boxes hanging on a fence or a wall are a flower garden, plants planted in old galoshes are also a flower spot on a lawn and a ribbon along the path are all flower beds.

The terms have been sorted out a bit. Now about what they are. They are distinguished primarily by the time of flowering:

According to the type of planted plants, there are annuals, perennials, and there are mixed ones. In some, only one type of plant is planted. They are called monoflowers or monoflowers.

They are raised, they are also called high, they are multi-tiered. Their device consists of several stages: first of all, a fence is built, then the earth is poured into the finished form and plants are planted.

With theory, let's move on to practice. We start with where you can make flower beds and flower beds with your own hands.

Where to do

When the yard is spacious it's just fine. Find the most viewed place and set up a flower garden there. What to do if the whole territory has already been developed, but you want to plant flowers? You can always find a place. For example, near your house, the area is concreted or lined with slabs, stone, etc. At the wall of the house, you can make an excellent raised or even multi-tiered flower bed with your own hands. And no need to break the cover. A fence made of brick or stone is built right on it. It is advisable to put them on the solution, and then cover them from the inside with waterproofing impregnation (bituminous mastic) so that when watering, water does not flow onto the track. Then you can fill the soil and plant flowers.

Break flower beds along the fences. This is a common way to decorate, for example, a long driveway to the house. But this can also be done in different ways. Here, as well as near, a high flower bed looks better.

High flower bed from boards. The construction will be inexpensive, and the view is solid

You can break a flower bed in front of the gate. Street beds must be durable. Therefore, stone fences are usually used for their execution: just in case. If desired, you can make longline flower beds. They are more difficult to build, but much more attractive than flat ones.

Street multi-tiered (multi-level) flowerbed of complex shape

Even if the yard is surrounded by walls on all sides, you can still find a place for flowers: Hang on the walls, in pots or in the form of a flowering wall, put a rack, etc. Flower beds in the courtyard of a private house with your own hands can be made from everything and everywhere. It is only important not to make a mistake with the style: it must match the design of all buildings. Some ideas in the photo gallery.

You don't need a lot of space and can be moved. Portable flower bed is convenient

You can make a flower garden in the country near the tree. They already belong to the category of garden. Don't want it to be banal? Come up with an interesting fence.

What and how to make a fence

The most common fence for a flower bed is brick, wild stone, boulders. You can make a building out of brick in a strict "ceremonial" manner. Boulders and wild stone are already more intimate, non-standard fences.

Since they have a decent weight, a foundation is often made under a brick or stone fence for a flower bed. Not if one or two rows fit, but if there are four or more rows. If the device is on a concreted platform, you can do without a foundation at all, but if a flower bed is broken on a lawn or soil, then it is advisable to do it.

It is not even necessary to fasten two rows of stone or brick with mortar. They can simply be laid out one on top of the other, covered from the inside and covered with earth. Brick beds made in this way will often have to be corrected: bricks can “move out” from their place

First of all, the sod is removed on the marked area. If you plan to make a high flower bed, dig a groove along the perimeter, about 20 cm deep, and 5-10 cm wider than the planned fence in width. This ditch is filled with crushed stone, rammed, spilled with a liquid cement-sand mortar. For 1 part of M400 cement, 4-5 parts of pure sand are taken, mixed and poured with water to a state of sour cream. Crushed stone is shed with this semi-liquid solution. When the concrete sets - you have to wait a few days - you can lay out the border for the flower beds.

How to make a brick or stone border

DIY flowerbeds and flower beds made in a stone and brick fence are the most expensive in the device, but also the most durable. They will last for several years with no problems.

Stones or bricks are placed on cement-sand mortar, like that, which was poured over crushed stone, but thicker. There should not be much mortar between the bricks - 5-8 mm. If you put cobblestones or natural stone, it’s easier to first fold them “dry” by choosing the sizes, and then shift them with a solution.

A few ideas on how to arrange stone borders for flower beds and flower beds in the photo gallery below.

This is a border for a cobblestone flower bed. The technique used is different - a roller is formed from a semi-dry solution, small stones are stuck into it

If you don’t need to raise the plantings so much, and you only want to mark the boundaries of the area planted with flowers, but you are afraid that if you just dig in the brick, it will fall, then you can dig a trench, fill it with rubble, and insert limestone into the rubble (stone sawn into plates , it can be found in the section selling materials for exterior finish at home) or standing to put bricks. Spill a liquid cement-sand mortar around the installed elements of the fence. After two or three days, when the concrete sets, you can continue to work: fill in the fertile soil, but you can’t load the curb or step on it for about a month: it takes so much time for it to gain strength.

By the same principle, you can make a frame for a flower bed with your own hands from slate or tiles cut into strips. A flower bed can be made from metal or asbestos slate. There are trimmings left after the roofing device - use them. Here's what might work.

They take a flexible thick wire and fasten the wire to the flat side of the pieces of wood with staples from a construction stapler or bent nails. The easiest way to fence a flower bed with boards. For support, you will need several bars - not very thick, but wide. Approx 50*150mm and edged board 20 mm thick. Choose its width yourself so that several pieces installed on the edge will give you the required height.

Impregnate the wood with protective impregnations, when it dries, you can begin work. First install the support bars. They can be sharpened at one end and carefully hammered in without damaging the upper surface (place a piece of a bar and hit it), or you can dig a hole about 50 cm deep, install a beam in it, bury and compact the earth around. Bars are installed in increments of 1-1.5 meters, depending on how wide the flower garden will be. The wider and higher it is, the greater the mass will have to be kept, therefore, supports are more often placed.

Boards are nailed to the exposed supports. They can be stuffed from the inside and then support bars will be visible, but it is possible from the outside. In the second option, only a wall of boards will be visible. The joints of the boards should fall on the bars.
