In this video tutorial, we will make a bubble generator. This is a very funny homemade product, especially if you have small children at home.
To begin with, let's take the bottles for soap bubbles themselves. From them we only need rings through which the bubbles are inflated. Eight of these samples will be enough for us.
In one of the covers from them, you need to make 8 holes around the entire circumference. Now we pass the rings into these holes. The next step we need is absolutely any motor that will turn this structure. Cut a rail of a certain length and make a hole in its upper part. We will fix the motor in it.
The next step is to take steel wire, bend it as shown on the roller and fix it on the rack using self-tapping screws.

Let's make a homemade fan.

Now we need a fan that will continuously blow on the rings and launch soap bubbles. For this purpose, you could have taken a regular cooler, but to be honest, it spins slowly, so we'd better make a homemade fan. To do this, cut out the contour of the fan blade on paper. Let's circle it on plastic bottle slightly tilted and cut out. Naturally, we need two such blanks.

Next, cut out from plastic card a small workpiece, we make a hole in the center and glue the blades along the edges. Now we put this structure on the motor shaft and then, using hot glue, we attach it to the base of the wire.

Final assembly.

At the next stage, we need to take a container, in the center of which we will fix the rack.

Now, with the help of hot glue, we will place this carousel on the shaft of the main motor.

The next step is to connect the entire structure to the power supply. For example, you can have two old phone chargers and connect to one motor and the other to the other.

The recipe for a solution for soap bubbles at home.

Now all that remains is to make a solution according to the recipe and pour it into a container, then connect the structure to the power supply. Let's now see what we got. For 1 liter of water, 70 grams of any detergent, which is applied to dishes and 2 tablespoons of glycerin. For the best effect, let the solution stand for one day. If children have access to the solution at home and in other conditions, then it is better to take not a detergent, but a shampoo.

In principle, where do we start ... But where?

From a shopping trip.
We need the following things:

  • Bubbles in cans with blower 8 pieces (3 bucks for 8 pieces)
  • Hot melt glue - 11mm. Need 1 stick (a few cents)
  • RC model servo (4 bucks used)
  • A food box - I have 17 * 10 * 7 cm (l-w-h) the price is about 3 bucks.
  • Computer fan, but more powerful (price from 3 to 10 bucks)
  • Power supply unit with outputs 12V and 1.5V

In addition to these things, of course, we will need screwdrivers, a soldering iron, rosin-tin, a couple of wires, electrical tape ... Such a plan is elementary.

How to do it yourself?

Step 1. We take soap bubbles, turn off the lids, pull out the molds for blowing bubbles, put aside 8 pieces, I tried 4 - it turned out that this was not enough.


After that, we drill 8 holes in one of the lids, evenly stick the molds there (with the same protrusion from the lid) and fill it with hot melt glue. (we heat it with matches - it melts - we fill in the cork with our forms for 15 minutes) As it cools down - it sticks - we fasten it with small screws to point 2.

Step 2. Servo. Perhaps this is the most specific detail. I left it with a radio-controlled car, the same is in helicopters and other radio-controlled models (not toys).
It is needed to slowly rotate the molds for blowing bubbles.
Initially, it does not rotate, but rotates 180 degrees.
In order for it to rotate:
We disassemble it.
We file down the stopper on the gear with a file (you can see it).
We tear out the resistor twist (3 legs to the board).
We see the engine - we cut the paths with a clerical blade (two of them are fat there) from the motor to the board with electronics, we solder 2 wires to the motor.
We collect.
We have on our hands a slowly rotating engine, with a carousel made of forms for blowing soap bubbles.
The servo will power between 1.2 and 2 volts.
Next, we take a couple of screws and nuts and fasten the servo to step 3.

Step 3. Food container. With a soldering iron we make two holes for the servo, in the center along the width of the box, and at the highest point of the box (but so that the "blades" almost touch the bottom) At this point, the servo will try to overturn the box with its weight, this is normal - when we pour liquid for bubbles - the effect disappears.

Step 4. We take Powerful fan, and just screw it to the same side of the food container, after making the holes with a soldering iron.
I additionally strengthened it with glands, which can be cut from drywall profiles or borrowed from children's designer iron.

Step 5. Power supply, the servo needs 1.2 volts, and the fan needs 12 volts. You can buy a Chinese regulated power supply, there are 1.5 volts for the servo and 12 volts for the fan output, take them out and connect them.
But you can make the power supply yourself.
Transformer 220/12 volts, diode bridge, capacitor ...
I connect the fan to 12 volts, without any.
I connect the servo drive through an adjustable voltage regulator to the LM 317 (the price on the market is 2-3 bucks, a ready-made scarf - 2 pins in, 2 out).

Generator assembly

To get started, take a belt for money and use them to connect the motor from the player to the roller of the three-stage gearbox. Such a mechanism will transfer rotation to a special receiving roller. Fill the gap between the discs with a little glue. Place six plastic bubble bottle loops evenly onto the disc. Now, during the rotation of the disc with the roller, these loops will be immersed in the container with the solution. The hinges will blow large bubbles as they pass the fan.

The fan must be powered by 12 volts and the motor must be 5 volts. For stationary power, a computer power supply is required. Paper clips can be used as the axles of the reducer rollers. And the mechanism is better made of cardboard. To prevent abrasion of paper parts, wrap tape around them. Such a device will be quite enough to arrange a real foam show of soap bubbles.
