Protection logs from ultraviolet folk remedies. The best protection of wood from moisture and decay

Wood has been used as a building material for over a hundred years. It is she who is preferred to be used for the construction of baths, houses, cottages. It is the most environmentally friendly, safe and warm material with low thermal conductivity. And also in wood, an aesthetically attractive appearance is also valued. Therefore, it is often used as a decorative element for the implementation of exterior and interior decoration of the log house. But service life wooden material can be reduced due to atmospheric influence on it. After all, moisture, insects, precipitation, wind, sunlight, fungus and fire are dangerous for the strength and other characteristics of wood. And in order to prolong the service life of this building material, it is necessary to provide him with reliable and timely protection.

The main causes of the destruction of wood according to scientific developments

Wood is alive natural material containing a certain percentage of moisture. The amount of moisture varies depending on the ambient temperature, air humidity and other weather conditions. Water has a strong influence on the structure of wood: on a cloudy, rainy day, it swells, and on the contrary, it dries out in summer. From these constant changes, the strength of the structure suffers greatly. Therefore, wood must be protected from moisture.

A photo: proper storage lumber in a stack.

Saving wooden material from water, it is not necessary to finish (cover) it with a film, oilcloth. After all, wood must breathe and a violation of air exchange will lead to the formation of an even more serious problem - damage to the wooden material by fungus or mold. And they, in turn, will provoke the development of putrefactive processes, which will lead in the near future to the complete destruction of the entire structure.

How to deal with atmospheric influence on wood material

The condition of wood directly depends on the natural conditions in which it is located. From ultraviolet, moisture, the structure of wood is destroyed, its shade and density change. Biological agents and insects destroy strength characteristics material. Wood for carpenter beetles is both food and shelter. They, being in the structure of the tree, destroy its strength, making many holes (moves) in it. Precipitation, temperature changes lead to rotting of wood. The first signs of the appearance of putrefactive processes in a wooden material are the formation of fungi and mold on its surface.

To ensure the wood is properly and reliable protection must be periodically treated with protective compounds. Best of all, antiseptic agents cope with the appearance of microorganisms, insects. And to prevent the penetration of moisture into the wood structure, film-forming, water-repellent compounds should be used: varnishes, paints, etc.

In the modern construction market there are a large number of complex tools. They perform a protective function, thanks to the fungicides included in the composition and decorative.

Opinions of experts on the protection of wood from biological agents

Helps protect wood from biological agents and various insects Yaroslavl decorative antiseptic PREMIA. This tool has a large number of positive reviews among developers and builders. It is intended to ensure the protection of wood from atmospheric phenomena and biological contamination for 7 years, as well as to decorative finishes. It also prevents the influence of sunlight on the wooden material, delaying ultraviolet radiation in the outer layer. The PREMIA decorative antiseptic can be used both inside and outside the premises.

It has an environmentally friendly composition, with a minimum content of solvents. It includes highly effective fungicides that protect wood from blue stain, fungus, mold, woodworms. And they are also able to eliminate the already begun damage to the material by biological agents.

This tool is able to improve the decorative characteristics of the wooden material, giving it a shade of any type of wood after application, thanks to the alkyd varnish and pigments included in the composition. Antiseptic PREMIA emphasizes the structure of wood, uniformly tones it. This composition is easy to apply, well absorbed into the structure of the material and dries quickly (after 24 hours after application). After processing, a breathable coating is formed on the surface of the wooden material, through which you can see the pattern of the unique wood structure.

One of the best decorative antiseptics at the same time, designed for processing log cabins of houses, baths and others. wooden structures is a decorative Bystrolak from the Yaroslavl Paints company. The basis of its safe and economical composition is alkyd varnish, pigments, fungicides. It can be used both for outdoor work (painting benches, fences, window frames, etc.) and indoors (applied to doors, walls, furniture).

The resulting layer of varnish dries very quickly, at an air temperature of +20 it may take only 5 hours. Quick varnish is resistant to negative impact atmospheric phenomena. He is not afraid of the sun's rays, precipitation, temperature changes. After applying Bystrolak, the surface of the wood acquires a beautiful, glossy sheen. And the structure of the material under the resulting layer is not hidden, but emphasized and stands out favorably. There are 9 shades in the palette of this tool that imitate various types of wood (ash, rosewood, golden oak, walnut, pine, Oregon, mahogany, teak, mountain ash).

Protective decorative compositions for finishing coating and protecting a wooden structure, there are many means. But all of them are either high cost or low quality. In terms of quality and price, I consider Neomid Biocolor Ultra to be the best. This domestic company has been tested for years, consumers appreciate the funds for their environmental friendliness and efficiency.

Biocolor Ultra is made on an alkyd basis. It provides the wooden material with reliable protection against atmospheric phenomena, cracking, mold formation, rot, and insects. It contains microwax, which provides elasticity to the resulting coating and additional water-resistant characteristics. This decorative agent also protects wood from sunlight, prevents its fading, due to the presence of a UV filter in the composition.

Biocolor Ultra can be used indoors and outdoors. It does not affect the structure of wood, only emphasizes its beauty. It is easily applied on a wooden surface, a semi-gloss, translucent layer is formed. Color palette decorative composition consists of 9 shades, including colorless. But it can be tinted with special pastes.

To extend the life of wood products and give them an attractive appearance, various means are used. The choice of a suitable tool will depend on what result you need to get - this is the first condition. The second condition is the condition in which the product was originally (high-quality or not high-quality). But in any case, it is necessary to use special antiseptic and protective equipment, which will help in protecting against any influences environment.
These include:

  • Primers.
  • Impregnation.
  • Lacquers or paints.
  • Solutions.

All this must be done so that the wood does not deteriorate during operation, especially if the products are not indoors.

Now - in more detail.
Fight against future surface damage.
To do this, we use disinfectant solutions, which are a colorless (sometimes with a slight amber or greenish tint) fungicidal solution that prevents wood decay. Such preparations are made on the basis of water or white spirit.

Solutions of the first group are environmentally friendly and not expensive. But over time, they are simply washed out with water, so it is better not to use them for processing. wooden elements, which are in direct contact with the soil and even more so with moisture.
By modern technologies to protect structures immersed in the ground or in water, for example: sleepers, piles, the lower parts of wooden fences, etc., special products based on acrylic are intended.

If the wood is already affected by the fungus, then the entire surface is thoroughly cleaned and treated with special preparations with a high content of active substances that can “kill” the fungus or mold.
The folk method is bitumen (resin) dissolved in gasoline or the usual processing of technical oil. Proven over a short period of time.
There are also antiseptics that have an additional insecticidal effect. Such compositions, in addition to protecting against mold, fungi and blue stain, also destroy or prevent the appearance of bark beetles, barbels, grinder beetles and other insects and worms (shashel).

We provide protection for wooden surfaces
.

After treatment with fungicides, the tree must be protected from further destruction. For this, special varnishes and azures are used. Such products are effective against fungal infection, damage from ultraviolet rays (UV-A and UV-B) and precipitation.
Suppose you have garden furniture or a fence, a bench or a wooden bridge are in the open air and therefore they must be treated with any product that is on sale. It may not be expensive either.
Well, if you have not done this before, and the surface has already turned black, then you need to:

But all these methods are intended more for prevention than for the treatment of wood. If the wood is "sick", then there are, in principle, no means to treat it - this is my subjective opinion.
If the wooden surface has not been treated with an antiseptic, then at a temperature of +25 ° C and an air humidity of 70%, mold will inevitably appear on it. Wood-staining fungi (blue) affect the outer young layers of the tree. The fungus develops from the inside - and until the color comes to the surface, the material appears healthy. Then wood-destroying mushrooms already appear (the most dangerous disease- brown rot).

It follows from this that this does not happen, it is necessary to process the wooden surface of any product on time. Moreover, now in the construction industry a lot of various means are used.
And one more thing - these materials not only protect, but also increase the aesthetic qualities: after drying, the impregnations create a matte, and varnishes - a glossy surface. Transparent or tinted. Some hide the base completely - they are used to mask wood that has turned gray in the sun.
From a practical point of view, tinted materials are preferable: the main protection against UV rays is performed by the coloring pigments included in their composition. They are the ones who receive the sun. The service life of such coatings in our conditions is about 10 years.

Also have modern facility("ognebio") for the comprehensive protection of wood from fire and the spread of flame, which makes it a hardly flammable material and at the same time retains the texture and does not interfere with the breathing of wood. With this tool, you need to process roof devices (rafters, beams, trusses, maurlats).

Among the materials for dacha construction the tree was and remains one of the most popular. Wood retains heat well, does not interfere with air exchange, is easy to process, environmentally impeccable, etc. It is also important that in Russia there is more than enough of it. At the same time, the tree is very vulnerable: it is afraid of fire, it is destroyed under the influence of the environment, the vital activity of insects, and it is prone to mold. Significantly longer service life wooden products and structures is impossible without ensuring reliable protection of wood from the effects of the above factors.

In order for the house to retain its appearance for as long as possible, and its structures not to be adversely affected by the environment and biological pests, use specialized wood protection products.

Regardless of the size of the structure, the outer surfaces need the most protection: the foundation and plinth (they are usually made of brick or concrete), the facade and the roof. For protection wooden walls and giving them an attractive look using special formulations. Their range on the market is huge. And to understand this diversity, you should start by defining the desired result. We list the most important parameters of protective compositions.

Appearance

If it is planned to preserve the wood pattern, then azure is used, impregnation, varnishes or oils. (They also allow you to ennoble its appearance). Typically, manufacturers offer a choice of about 10 ready-made shades. You should also pay attention to the degree of gloss - depending on it, the surface will turn out to be glossy or matte.

Wherein type of wood usually does not affect the choice of coverage. Rocks that are difficult to process (very valuable) are not used for facades.

Completely paint over the surface paints and enamels. When using machine tinting, almost any color becomes available to the consumer - from black to bright orange. The main thing is to clarify whether it is suitable for facades (that is, whether it is resistant to UV rays).

Price

The cost of a can, as a rule, directly depends on the quality of the coating received. The better the product, the more expensive it is. However, unreasonably expensive compositions do not stay on the market for a long time. There are three price categories:

  • budget materials (economy class) - Senezh, Aquatex, Texturol, Pinotex, etc.;
  • general consumer (middle class) - Belinka, Tikkurila;
  • professional (premium class) - brands Ace, Dulux, Johnestones, Teknos, Woodworks.

If the cost budget materials does not exceed 100 rubles. per 1 kg, then in the middle class it ranges from 200 to 300 rubles, and in the premium class it starts from (c) 350 rubles. Respectively, average term paint services (at proper preparation basics) looks something like this: 1–3 years; 5–6 years; 10–12 years old. When choosing materials (especially imported ones), you should carefully read the instructions and ask the sellers.

Consumption

When choosing a composition, the calculation should be carried out, starting not from the price of the can, but from the amount of paint that will go to 1 sq. m, since the consumption of different materials can differ quite significantly. Accurately calculate the required amount of composition for wood, since it is necessary to take into account several factors at once - the degree of absorption, relief, qualification of the master, etc.). On banks, only the average expense is indicated, the actual one will be more. Therefore, if the construction site is located at a considerable distance from the store, it is better to buy a product with a margin.

Paints of different price categories they also have different hiding power (the ability to completely and evenly change the color of the base). If a bright shade is used, saving on paint can result in the need to apply more layers, which will ultimately increase the cost of the coating.

And one more nuance: Russian manufacturers paint is often sold and produced "by weight" - in kilograms, while European ones are traditionally measured in liters, and Americans - in gallons and quarts. Therefore, when calculating, it should be taken into account that 1 kg of the composition is not equal to 1 l (density is 1.2–1.4 kg / l).

Environmental friendliness

If for interior work it is desirable to use odorless compositions, then for facades such a condition is not so important. In any case, various oils can be classified as environmentally friendly (mainly due to their natural origin). Note that some of the manufacturers indicate on the packaging all the components that make up the product so that consumers know exactly how they process the walls of their homes.

Acrylic compositions on the water based considered the most environmentally friendly. They dry noticeably faster than organic paints, do not have a pungent odor, but have not yet been widely used, mainly due to relatively high prices and the absence of a “consumer habit”.

The most "harmful" are oil and alkyd materials. Their use without means of protection can cause allergies and other negative reactions, but the habit that has taken root in our minds automatically leads to their next purchase and, accordingly, to “baiting” the masters.

Translucent formulations

Leaving the structure of the wood visible, they serve to protect and decorate like new, newly erected buildings (that is, a good, clean, previously uncoated base: rounded logs, new lining etc.), as well as updating existing coatings. However, it should be taken into account that different breeds wood shade of such material manifests itself in different ways.

Translucent compositions have protective properties much more than paint. Firstly, the content of coloring pigments in them is an order of magnitude smaller, which allows them to be much better absorbed into the tree, protecting it from atmospheric influences “from the inside”; secondly, they contain much more special additives (fungicides, etc.) that prevent rotting and destruction of wood.

Impregnation and varnishes, thanks to the content of antiseptics, protect wood from fungi, UV rays and precipitation (snow and rain). After drying, the impregnations are matte, and the varnishes are glossy, transparent or tinted in some cases, in order to “mask” wood that has turned gray in the sun or repaint old coatings, the base is completely hidden. If the surface will be subjected to increased loads, yacht varnish is used.

From a practical point of view, tinted materials are preferable: the main protection against ultraviolet radiation is performed by the coloring pigments included in their composition. It is they who "take over" the "blow" of UV rays. They are usually made from minerals, so the color remains pristine for a long time.

For full protection, one layer is enough, but it is better to apply two. Firstly, when applying one layer, it is easy to miss small areas of the surface, which later become a source of destruction - unpainted wood “blackens” the very next year. Secondly, due to the different absorbency over the entire area of the wood, differences in gloss may occur. And one more thing: if the tree is non-uniform in terms of absorbent properties (and this happens due to different cuts), then stains may occur when the first layer of colored impregnation is applied, so it is better to take a colorless composition for the first layer.

The service life of such materials in climatic conditions central Russia - approximately 10 years. It is possible, of course, some color change on the sunny side in five years, but this will not affect the protection of the tree.

Antiseptics are a colorless (sometimes with a faint amber or greenish tinge) fungicidal solution that prevents decay. The main task of such materials is to soak into the tree as deeply as possible, so they always have a very liquid consistency. Among them there are compounds designed to prevent the appearance of fungi and mold - they are applied only to a clean tree.

If the base has already undergone a fungal attack, then all areas of damage are cleaned to the maximum and special compounds with a large number of active substances are used, in particular those that are able to whiten the surface that has changed its color.

fire retardant materials. When heated, they swell like foam, preventing the fire from reaching the wall. However, they are able to resist no more than 15 minutes. It should be understood that these compounds do not protect the tree from fire by 100% and will not be saved from deliberate arson, but the fallen cigarette butt will most likely go out without causing a fire. Since fire-retardant materials are not a finishing layer, they are coated with paints, varnishes or impregnations, which, in turn, do not always have "non-combustible" properties. Therefore, it is worth remembering that careful handling of fire will protect the tree much more reliably than any impregnation. If the risk of fire is still high enough, then it is better to insure the house against fire than to rely on a flame retardant.

Oils prepared using natural oils so they can penetrate deeper into the wood. After treatment with oils, the surface becomes matte or with a silky sheen (in this case, the pattern of the structure becomes more saturated, as if wet).

Systems are a combination of a primer applied to bare wood and a film-forming material applied as a top coat. In rare cases, there is also a sublayer - an intermediate "link". It is advisable to use systemically products from one manufacturer, otherwise the sad consequences in the form of delamination and other troubles will not take long.

Therefore, we remind you once again: before buying a protective composition, you should carefully read the instructions for use not only on the bank, but also on the manufacturer's website.

Both the primer and the film-forming material are tinted, while the first provides protection against fungi, and the second - from ultraviolet rays (due to the added pigments), rain and mechanical influences (abrasion). The film-forming material is more like a transparent paint. Unlike varnish, it conducts water vapor better and is more elastic. However, UV rays "burn out" the coating, especially on the sunny side. Therefore, after 5 years (in the Moscow region), it should be restored, that is, a couple more layers should be applied.

Paints and enamels

Paint is needed when you want to completely hide the base. Change the old paintwork or hide the defects of clean fresh wood. Such compositions are made on a water basis or on solvents (oil, alkyd); and be universal or intended for outdoor use.

Tasks similar coverage– adhere well to the wood, creating an opaque one-color film (its thickness in multilayer systems – primer + two layers of paint – is about 100 microns). The sun burns out about 10 microns per year, which is the thickness of a human hair, so a 100 micron film will thin over 10 years and must be renewed periodically.

As a general rule, exterior-only woodwork paints are very expensive, as they must have good flexibility combined with weather resistance, wood adhesion, and tear strength. For example, House & Trim Stain (Ace, USA) costs 500 rubles. per quart (0.95 l); Cuprinol Landscape Shades - 1605 rubles. for 2.5 liters. Also noteworthy is the Nordica Eco paint by the Finnish concern Teknos. The water-soluble paint produced using a unique technology creates a durable glossy coating with a self-cleaning facade effect.

For wood, many out of habit buy universal paints, but they should not be trusted too much. If the description indicates that the composition is suitable for concrete, metal, wood, brick, plaster, drywall, etc., then, most likely, for the sake of versatility, some useful properties had to be sacrificed. In particular, such as adhesion to each specific surface, resistance to fading and peeling, etc.

Domestic products on solvents have the corresponding designations: MA-15 - oil and PF-115 - pentaphthalic (alkyd) paint (from the consumer's point of view, this is the same as MA-15, but a little better). The first number - "1" - means that the paint is used for outdoor work. The obvious "plus" of these materials is their cheapness (their cost fluctuates around 80 rubles / kg). As for quality, some paints are produced in accordance with GOST, others - in accordance with TU ( specifications). And therefore, with the same names, they have different consumer properties.

If quality is more important, you need to take a product made according to GOST, but if funds are limited (you need to meet the estimate) or the building is of no value (temporary hut, utility block, toilet), a product that meets the specifications is enough.

The range of imported (produced in Russia using foreign technologies) paints is wider, and you need to focus on the manufacturer's instructions. The following brands are most widely represented in Russia: Caparol, Dufa, Dulux, Johnestones, Sadolin, Sikkens, Teknos. there are quite good Turkish ones - Marshall, American ones - Ace, Sherwin Williams.

Primers

The primer sticks to the surface better than the paint, therefore, the finish coat adheres to it better than on bare wood. In addition, there are compounds specially designed for the treatment of resinous rocks, in order to prevent the action of the resin on the paint layer (for example, Dulux Aluminum Wood Primer costing 580 rubles per 1 liter).

Unfortunately, traditionally, paint is considered as an independent material, thinking something like this: “Why do we need a primer if good paint lies down and lasts a long time, and if it doesn’t, then it’s bad.” The question is, why then do manufacturers develop and produce primers? They are used if they want to get a high-quality result, in particular, when performing particularly important work or if the base is in poor condition. Usually one primer coat is enough at a cost comparable to an extra coat of paint.

Surface preparation

In most cases, the cause of premature failure paintwork– Incorrect or incomplete preparation. Although there is nothing tricky in it - you need to remove everything that is weakly holding and rinse (dedust) the base. However, this procedure requires a significant investment of effort and time, often it is even more laborious than the painting itself.

The peeling coating is cleaned with a scraper, a drill with a nozzle, a grinder or a special chemical agent. In some places, the rotten tree is removed (closing the “wound” with putty). It is not out of place to go over a well-adhering paint with a scraper - it can only look normal, and fly off with a husk at the slightest pressure. The durable parts of the coating are sanded along the edges (at the joints) and wiped with a rag. If the paint is strong, it is enough to wash it.

Coating Compatibility

One rule should be remembered: if paints on an organic solvent (alkyd or oil) fall on any old coating, then water-based paints are applied either on clean wood or using a special primer (this is stated in the instructions for use), because most of the "water-based materials » "not friends" with the old oil paints. There are also formulations with wax additives. They can only be repainted after a certain time has passed (about two years later, when the wax has burned out).

Impregnations are usually universal and compatible with most finishing materials. However, it is better to preprocess small plot. If within one or two hours the incompatibility does not manifest itself as swelling, bubbles do not appear, and the newly applied composition does not collect in the form of droplets or reach for the brush in stripes, then everything is in order - you can paint.

Treatment

Surfaces that will be in direct contact with the ground are treated with antiseptics by partial (for example, poles are placed in a barrel and poured with a composition) or full immersion (with an exposure of about 1 minute per millimeter of thickness). If this is not possible, apply two layers with a brush, and the second one is started when the first one has already been absorbed, but has not yet dried out.

In other cases, take a brush or a low-pressure sprayer with a crevice nozzle. And in no case do they use a roller, since it will not make it possible to saturate the surface, but will only spray the impregnation.

If the base has already undergone a fungal infection, then all large “growths” are mechanically cleaned off, after which “heavy artillery” is used - special compositions with a large number of active substances.

As for the paint, you should work with it in dry, clear weather, as rain can wash off the dry layer. Scorching sun, on the contrary, leads to a very rapid drying of the paint, which affects the convenience of work and may be the cause of the "wrinkling" of the coating. That is, it is desirable to paint the south side of the house either early in the morning, or already in the evening. With a strong wind, dust rises, settling on the coating and sticking to it, which looks very ugly. For application, it is best to use a brush, especially for the first layer. She “rubs” the composition into the wood, and it is thus deeply impregnated, making the system more reliable and longer lasting. If there are many layers, for greater uniformity, it can be applied with a sprayer. Special attention are given to ends that are much more porous and, therefore, more absorbent. They are covered with a large number of layers, as this is one of the most vulnerable places in wood.

WOOD PROTECTION OVERVIEW

Protective azure for wood in the form of a cream (Remmers, Germany).

PURPOSE: outdoor work - protection wooden buildings from blue and dampness, and the creation decorative surface. The product is suitable for processing shutters, balconies, roof overhangs, high-quality solid fences, pergolas, arbors, carports, facade cladding.

PROPERTIES: The secret of Aidol Holzschutz-Creme is its creamy consistency, which is due to the presence of an innovative component in its composition - a water-oil emulsion. Its mechanism of action differs from that of gel glazes on the market. The latter, falling on the surface of the wood, on a short time become fluid, spread over the surface, after which they return to the gel-like state again and their penetration into the wood is limited by the residence time in the fluid state. Aidol

Holzschutz-Creme, on the other hand, spreads during self-distribution (liquefaction) and penetrates deep into the wood structure (along the fibers by 2 cm; into painted wood by 3-4 mm, into unpainted wood - up to 7 mm), leaving no streaks, spots and gaps. Thanks to this, even a beginner who picks up a brush for the first time can easily cope with surfaces of any complexity. The creamy state of the product makes it possible to treat vertical and overhead surfaces, as well as saves a lot of time and money by reducing the number of layers required for high-quality processing.

Aidol Holzschutz-Creme does not form hard deposits, but despite this, thin layer it turns out strong enough - it does not crack, does not break and does not need to be sanded. The product has been awarded the RAL-Protection of Wood quality mark, which indicates an official assessment of its effectiveness against pests and an official assessment of safety for health and the environment when used as directed. Aidol Holzschutz-Creme is available in 6 color solutions under noble breeds of a tree.

APPLICATION: Aidol Holzschutz-Creme is ready to use and does not require stirring. The surface to be treated must be dry and clean. The cream is applied with a soft brush along the direction of the fibers. For rough wood, one brush stroke is sufficient, for planed wood, two are required. Approximately 12 hours later, after the first layer has completely dried, a second one is applied.

RESTRICTIONS: Colorless Aidol Holzschutz-Creme should not be used on surfaces directly exposed to the weather (such as roof eaves). In this case, it is advisable to use this product only as a primer. Contact of processed objects with the ground surface is also unacceptable. The product is not suitable for protecting surfaces in direct contact with food products and fodder, as well as for the treatment of beehives, greenhouses and saunas.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: it is recommended to work with Aidol Holzschutz-Creme with gloves; waste water or soil is unacceptable, since its components are detrimental to organisms living in water.

Means for repairing and decorating wooden surfaces (Chromos Svetlost, Croatia).

The Chromos Svetlost enterprise dates back to 1956. The plant produces a wide range of paints and varnishes - enamels, primers, alkyd-based varnishes, nitrocellulose paints and varnishes, wood protection products and azure varnishes, facade acrylic and silicate paints, materials for the automotive industry and road markings. Since 2008, the company's products have been presented in Russia.

PURPOSE: outdoor and interior work– processing of any wooden surfaces – windows, doors, garden and home furniture, repair small defects- scratches, chips.

PROPERTIES: composition based on alkyd resins, with the addition of UV-resistant pigments and water-repellent components, it forms a transparent coating that emphasizes the natural structure of the wood and gives it a silky sheen. The lacquer film reliably protects the wood not only from atmospheric precipitation and sunlight, but even from small mechanical influences.

The release of the product in a small spray bottle makes Lazurit Lak convenient for home use, which does not require professional skills. However, standard precautions are necessary because the product contains organic solvents and has a synthetic smell.

APPLICATION: to renew with Lazurit Lak coating, the surface is lightly sanded and dusted, old oil or nitro paints are completely removed. The balloon is thoroughly shaken and directed to the surface from a distance of 20-30 cm. To avoid streaks, the product is applied in a thin, even layer. Usually two or three layers of Lazurit Lak are sufficient with an intermediate drying time of 2-4 hours. Surfaces not intended for processing, but accidentally stained, are cleaned with a solvent or white spirit.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: contact with mucous membranes should be avoided, and the room where work is being carried out should be thoroughly ventilated.

Protective impregnation for wood (Sadolin, Estonia).

PURPOSE: outdoor work - protection of wood products and structures: walls, window frames, balcony and stair railings, decorative elements, pieces of furniture (especially garden), etc. Suitable for decorative finishing of both sawn and planed wood of any kind of wood.

PROPERTIES: the product provides reliable preventive protection of a healthy tree, protecting it from the appearance of fungus, mold, insects and blue stain. The composition penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood and allows you to achieve the highest possible result at a low cost of processing. So, for a full-fledged service for 5 years in the Moscow region, one primer layer of Protex Base and two layers of Protex Wood Protector are enough, creating a noble matte finish.

If you want more "gloss", the range includes Protex Lacquered Wood Protector. The finely porous coating formed after drying protects the wood from atmospheric influences and at the same time allows it to "breathe", gives a noble shade to the wood and emphasizes its natural structure. The presence of special pigments in the formulation protects the material from ultraviolet rays and, consequently, from fading in the sun. It should be noted that the entire series of Protex impregnations is intended only for outdoor use. Varnishes are provided for interior work in the series.

APPLICATION: the base must be dry and clean. Impregnation is thoroughly mixed. The surface is treated with a sprayer in two or three layers. To obtain a uniformly painted surface, 20-30 minutes after application, the impregnation residues are removed with a rag.

Antiseptic primer for wood protection (Belinka Belles, Slovenia).

PURPOSE: outdoor and indoor work - impregnation of wooden surfaces in the open air or in wet rooms- baths, saunas, summer showers, basements (except steam rooms).

PROPERTIES: in nature, wood has breathability, it is thanks to it that the temperature and humidity are constant in wooden houses - that is, wood itself regulates the microclimate of the room. Impregnant is a new product in the Belinka range based on alkyd resins and water, containing effective biocides. It is easily absorbed into the wood and “works” inside it, protecting the new tree from decay, blue stain and pests, while not changing the permeability of the material and allowing the tree to “breathe”.

The agent is difficult to wash out with water, which allows it to be successfully used on facades and in wet rooms. Impregnation is used only for the prevention of a “healthy” tree and must be covered with decorative glaze or other top coat. Indoors, the new series includes Interier, Interier Sauna, and for outdoor work - Exterier.

APPLICATION: the product is thoroughly mixed before use. Undiluted product is applied with a brush, roller, as well as by dipping or pouring on dry and clean wood.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: when working, protect the eyes and skin of the hands and thoroughly ventilate the room. The product may cause an allergic reaction. The product is highly toxic to aquatic organisms - avoid contact with open water.

Wood protection system (Teknos, Finland).

The largest private enterprise in Finland - the Teknos concern - was founded in 1948. On the this moment it occupies about 40% of the coatings market in Finland, being one of the leaders in the production of industrial and general construction paints in Scandinavian countries. The company pays special attention to research, as well as the development and mastering of modern chemical technologies.

In the assortment for the protection of facades there is a whole line of Woodex materials. It presents two systems - solvent-borne, more suitable for woodex facade treatment with Woodex Kyllaste impregnation, and water-borne, more environmentally friendly Woodex Aqua and Woodex KyllasteAqua.

PURPOSE: external processing wooden walls, cornices, doors, window casings, fences, pillars, verandas, areas under canopies, above-water parts of berths. Woodex Kyllaste can be used as an independent preservative. wooden buildings for a period of about half a year.

PROPERTIES: The system includes two products: Woodex Kyllaste antiseptic primer and Woodex finishing agent. It is this combination that provides the wood with reliable protection and durability of the coating (approximately 5–7 years, subject to the application technology).

Transparent impregnation Woodex Kyllaste is based on naphthenes, which partially replace linseed oil. Therefore, it does not form a surface film and the wood appears dry immediately after treatment. The tool is presented in three colors: colorless is used to protect untreated wooden surfaces, green is intended for those places that will be in contact with the ground or water (piers, boats, poles and stairs), brown - where the coating will be subjected to heavy wear, for example , on stairs, terraces and piers.

Naturally, the structure of the wood remains visible in both cases. The composition contains substances that prevent rotting and mold development, has water repellency. For finishing Woodex is a thixotropic transparent antiseptic based on alkyd with the addition of modified linseed and fish oils. The tool is easy to apply, it is deeply absorbed into the surface of the wood, leaving its pattern visible.

Its main "duties" are to provide protection from atmospheric influences and protect against UV rays, which is made possible due to the presence of expensive pigments in the composition.

APPLICATION: Woodex Kyllaste is applied to a clean, dry base with a brush, paint brush, sprayer or by dipping for 0.25-2 hours in a container with a product. After 1-2 hours after treatment, the excess is removed with a dry rag.

After 10–20 hours, the surface is treated with a brush with tinted Woodex (undiluted or diluted by 10% with Teknosolv 1621 or Woodex Kyllaste thinner). Further, to obtain a translucent saturated color, you can limit yourself to two layers of undiluted Woodex, applied with a brush, brush or spray, and to make the coating opaque, a third layer is required.

Hard-to-wash antiseptic for wood operated in high humidity conditions (Lakra Sintez, Moscow).

PURPOSE: exterior and interior works - processing of plinths, facades, internal walls houses, parts of fences, fences, greenhouses, hydraulic structures, playgrounds, garden furniture and other wooden structures operated in high humidity.

In the spring of 2008, a new series of wood protection products “Healthy Home” appeared in the assortment of Lakra Sintez. It presents Ognebio products that combine two functions - protecting wood from fire and biodegradation: Bleach is designed to destroy fungal infections and remove “traces” of mold and blue; "Anti-mold" is effective for processing freshly sawn timber during transportation, as well as processing wood that will not come into contact with water; "Bio" is used in conditions of high humidity.

PROPERTIES: A hard-to-wash antiseptic based on chromium, copper and boron compounds, suitable for wood that is used in difficult conditions, for example, in contact with soil, condensation and atmospheric moisture. The antiseptic penetrates deeply into the wood structure, chemically binds to it and then does not release harmful compounds into the environment.

The product extends the life of wood by two to five times, not only destroying mold, rot, blue stain fungi, but also preventing their further appearance, and also protects against insect pests).

When using it, the wood is painted in a greenish-brown color of varying intensity, which does not prevent subsequent painting and gluing of the treated surfaces. The term of bioprotective activity with double application is 25 years, with the absorption of the finished solution of 175–200 kg / cu. m - up to 45 years.

APPLICATION: on a dry, clean surface, not treated with film-forming and water-repellent materials with a brush or sprayer in two or three layers. Processing by short-term immersion in a bath with a solution is possible. After applying the product and until it is completely fixed, do not allow contact with water in order to exclude the possibility of washing it out.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: when working, use overalls and tools personal protection well ventilate the room.

Means for the destruction of mold and fungus on any surfaces ("NPP Rogneda", Russia).

PURPOSE: internal and external works - the destruction of fungus, mold, algae, mosses and lichens on any surfaces (brick, concrete, plaster, wood, cardboard, drywall, ceramic tile etc.); preventive treatment of porous substrates from primary and re-infection, including before staining.

PROPERTIES: first of all, it is pleasant to work with (since it does not contain chlorine and does not smell when applied), but at the same time it is a very effective antiseptic. It is equally good for both preventive treatment of new buildings and for the destruction of a highly developed fungal infection, not only during construction and repair work, but also in everyday life, for example, for cleaning tiles or for processing walls before wallpapering.

Contains active antiseptic components. Without changing its decorative properties, it is easily absorbed and penetrates deeply into any material, effectively destroying both spores and advanced forms of bioinjuries.

The only thing he cannot do is bleach surfaces that have darkened as a result of the action of microorganisms. For this purpose, you should use the compositions "Hoarfrost No. 1" and "Hoarfrost No. 2". Since the composition is highly soluble in water, during preventive treatment it should be “overlapped” with a waterproof coating. It can be different colors, for example, water-dispersion paints series "Dali" or textural compositions such as "Aquatex" or "Aquatex Extra". Such a "complex" will provide reliable protection for 6-7 years.

ECO-FRIENDLY: the product does not contain chlorine, the coating does not emit substances that are harmful to human health and the environment.

APPLICATION: the base is cleaned of loose fungi and mold, washed with water and dried. With a deep lesion, the damaged material is removed to a healthy layer. The antiseptic is applied at a composition and surface temperature of at least +5 ° C with a consumption of 1 liter per 4–20 sq.m. (to destroy the infection) or 1 liter per 10–20 sq.m. (for prevention). In case of severe infection, the treatment should be repeated after four to six hours. After 1–2 days, the remnants of the products of biodefeats are brushed off and washed off with water.

To ensure long-term protection (especially when used outdoors), the surface should be additionally (if it was washed with water) treated with an antiseptic at a rate of 1 liter per 10–20 sq.m. and cover with appropriate protective and decorative material.

Table. Wood preservatives

The latest developments of scientists in the fight against wood pests are associated with the introduction into the affected areas of the so-called beneficial insects- entomophages. The principle of such protection is that such a "green landing" in the process of its growth eats a harmful insect without causing damage to the tree itself. So, to combat the bark beetle-typographer, such an entomophage as the anteater is used. One such representative in his life is able to destroy about 10-20 insects and practically exterminate the population of harmful insects in the territory entrusted to him.

Wooden house protective equipment

However, although this method of protection is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than the use of special preparations, it will take at least six months to wait for its results. Therefore, for a zealous owner, it makes sense to use one of the special prophylactic agents, both against insects and for protection from ultraviolet rays, with Neomid impregnation.

Initially, this product was developed for use in industrial areas, but having received high praise from experts and proving its effectiveness and safety since 2005, it has become available to a wide range of consumers.

Advantages of means of protection and prevention of Neomid

Neomid products are favorably distinguished by both an extensive range of protection products and the availability of a modern research base that allows you to control the quality of drugs. In addition, it is worth adding to the advantages of the brand such indicators as:

  • Affordability along with high quality for a wide range of the population.
  • The products have passed not only the test of time, but also received the approval of experts.
  • The product is available both in the form of a ready-to-use mixture and in a concentrated form, which makes it possible to store it compactly indoors without taking up extra space.
  • Attractive and comfortable, modern packaging.
  • The preparations are presented as means of complex protection against different types biodefeat, and flame retardant mixtures.

Preserves the appearance of Neomid impregnation

Despite the fact that Neomid impregnators are primarily intended for the initial treatment of wood, their use for restoring color and protecting against ultraviolet radiation is also very effective. So, the Neomid Biocolor Classic brand is perfect for this, which has a deep penetrating effect and helps prevent tarnishing. natural color wood. Its translucent - glazing composition not only protects the surface, but also emphasizes the wood structure, forming a semi-matt protective layer.

Application of Neomid impregnation on the surface

To apply the composition, it is necessary to prepare the surface to be treated in a certain way. Clean it from dirt, grease, resin, fungus or mold. Remove (if any) the old paint, and treat the contaminated cleaned areas with the Neomid 500 antiseptic. After that, the composition must be mixed well, and in the case of treatment with a spray gun, the preparation can be diluted up to 10% with white spirit.

Surface treatment with a wood preservative can be done either with a sprayer or with a brush or roller. To highlight the brighter structure of the tree, it is recommended to sand the surface after the first layer has dried, and apply the next layer only the next day. When working with this product, open flames should not be allowed in the treated area, as the drug may ignite.
