Do-it-yourself wardrobe bed. Modern beds in the wall - convenience and practicality in one product Do-it-yourself bed lifting to the wall

In spite of big choice finished furniture, many people spend a lot of time and energy looking for a suitable cabinet or bed. Through the "sieve of doubts" various models are sifted, differing from each other in design, color and size, but nothing fits. This is exactly the problem faced by a user of our site with a nickname avamonster, and homemade bed became for him an excellent way out of the "furniture impasse". In this article, we make a bed together with our user!

Review of lifting bed models.
- What tools and materials are needed to make a bed.
- Operating procedure.

DIY bed

avamonster FORUMHOUSE user

I need a transforming bed in my house, which can be quickly and easily put into a closet against the wall. When folded, the front of such a bed should be completely identical to the "front" of a conventional wardrobe. Therefore, there should not be any protruding handles, protruding legs, etc. outside. Such a bed should not take up much space. When unfolded, the "transformer" should turn into a fully functional bed designed for comfortable sleep, and not a guest "crib".

Shoveling the Internet, reviewing dozens of bed layouts and sketches and visiting several furniture stores, the forum user could not find a model that would fully satisfy his needs. Namely:

  • We need a transformer for standard size mattress 1600x2000x150 mm, like a normal sofa; The height of the unfolded bed should not exceed 45-55 cm;
  • The width of the transforming bed is equal to: the width of the mattress (1600 mm) plus the thickness of the side walls of the cabinet, made of chipboard. That is, approximately 1632 mm. The depth of the bed is equal to the depth of the cabinet - 450 mm. In the unfolded state, the length of the bed should not exceed 2100-2200 mm;
  • In the open position, the folding bed should fit well into the interior of the apartment, and not look like the simplest analogue of a "folding bed". Should be easily and quickly removed;
  • The unfolded bed should not take up much space in the house and impede free movement around the room, opening of adjacent wardrobes, cupboards, drawers, etc .;
  • Safety: the bed should not have sharp corners that you can hit with your foot, hidden cavities and crevices where pets or small children can climb. The gas lift or the springs of the opening mechanism should not be located near the head of the sleeper;
  • "Humane" price tag.

We present a selection of photos of those folding beds that the forum member looked at, as well as give his comments on why this or that model did not suit him.

A quick glance at this picture is enough to understand that this is not a simple wardrobe, but a wardrobe into which they have managed to build a "folding bed". It would be better not to build in - the slots are visible from below and from above, and the handles are very inconveniently located.

This lifting model when folded is no different from a regular wardrobe, but once it is unfolded, the bed blocks access to cabinets and drawers. This means that it must constantly be removed and lowered, which is very inconvenient.

Option of a wardrobe bed with sliding doors. This model does not take up much space, and when folded is indistinguishable from a standard cabinet. The main disadvantage is great depth"Transformer" - 80 cm. You will have to sleep, practically lying with your head and shoulders in the closet. Not everyone will like it. So this "guest" option was also dropped.

A typical model that you can often see in stores. Avamonster was not satisfied with the fact that, instead of springs or a gas lift, the bed is removed using a counterweight. When it leans back, you can see that the bottoms are similar to the legs of a "clamshell". And the price exceeds 40 thousand rubles.

Another common option. Avamonster's main claims to this folding bed are that the legs stick out like "antennae" from above, and when open, the mattress lies inside the bed frame. Passing next to such a bed, you can accidentally hit your foot on it sharp corner... A block with springs hangs next to the head, and by the "tram" handles you can immediately determine that this is not an ordinary cabinet, but a "transformer".

avamonster FORUMHOUSE user

All the models that I saw in the store had a construct: "a box made of chipboard or plywood, into which a mattress is simply inserted." It didn't suit me. I happened to be in the USA, where I saw another construct: the frame is "inside" the base under the mattress, and the mattress itself is slightly wider than the base. The springs or gas lift are located under the mattress, and not stick out in front of the face. It seems to me that this option is safer and easier to use.

There is also an option with a double bed-caterpillar, but such "transformers" are expensive and do not often catch your eye.

Finding a ready-made foldable sleeping place were not crowned with success, but a negative result is also a result. As a result of his ordeals, avamonster finally decided on the list of requirements for the product and therefore decided to assemble the bed himself.

Another interesting option is this "two in one" option, but this "DIY your own double bed" project is much more difficult to implement at home.

Material required for assembling a transforming bed

Looking ahead, let's say that the forum user managed to assemble a double bed, which is no different and even surpasses industrial or custom-made samples. The width of the "transformer" is 1640 mm, the length in the unfolded state is 2130 mm, the height is 500 mm.

According to avamonster, sketchup helped him achieve the success of the project and do everything right the first time, without numerous alterations and changes. Having spent three months studying the program from "0", having sat over the drawings and dimensions, the forum member sketched virtual models of the crib and diagrams of its nodes that can be twisted on the monitor screen (see pictures).

This approach allowed us to avoid many mistakes. Indeed, many novice craftsmen often forget the main building proverb: "measure seven times, cut once." An attempt to immediately translate everything "into metal", without plans, drawings and competent calculation of several options, leads to damage to the material due to constant changes in the design of the product.

The DIY bed is made from simple materials and does not require special tools for its manufacture.

What you need to make a product

  • Chipboard sheets - 1580x995x16 mm. Sawing to size, and edging of the ends of the slabs was done "on the side". It took 12 thousand rubles;

  • Custom springs for lifting mechanism... Those. spring parameters: rod diameter - 4 mm, outer diameter - 36 mm, number of turns - 30. Spring length with hooks - 18 cm. Stretching stroke - 21 cm. Applied force -55 kg. Spring parameters that depend on the "shoulder" of the lever and total weight beds, the forum member calculated in a special calculator. A set of 5 parts cost avamonster 3.5 thousand rubles;

  • DIY bed frame - shaped tube with dimensions 4x2 cm. The wall thickness of the frame tube is 2 mm. In total, 18 meters of such a pipe were purchased. The pipe was cut to size into elements on the spot so that it could be taken home in a regular "passenger car". It took another 1.5 thousand rubles;

avamonster

Because I do not have welding machine, then I had to drill holes in the pipes for the fastening bolts. This made the task of assembling the wardrobe bed much more difficult. The best way- to cook it all myself or to have it done in a locksmith's workshop to order, otherwise I also had to clean the pipes from rust. I pasted over the surfaces of all visible metal parts of the pipes with a film imitating wood.

  • Hardware. The DIY bed was assembled with bolts, nuts and screws. A homemade frame for strength and rigidity was twisted into corners for M6 bolts. All bolted connections were also calculated for the shear load. For all the necessary fasteners, the member of the forum spent another 4 thousand rubles.

How to assemble a transforming bed yourself: the main steps

The base for the mattress (chipboard sheets) was screwed to a homemade frame with special drilled screws. Such self-tapping screws have a "drill" at the end: the chipboard should be passed with a large diameter, steel - with a smaller one, and already at the finish a recess under the head of the self-tapping screw is countersunk in the wood. Thus, in one step, the chipboard board is attracted to metal frame without preliminary drilling.

The structure of the frame is designed so that the soft mattress is the widest part of the crib. In this case, it is impossible to hit the hard edge of the frame with your foot.

It is not always possible to equip your home the first time. Sometimes you have to make repairs in the apartment for years in order to achieve the desired result. It is very difficult to create comfort and coziness in small rooms. small apartments... The solution to the issue may be completely unexpected - this is a bed in the wall or in a closet, which can make a room not only functional, but also beautiful. A bed built into the wall is very popular in apartments where there is a lack of free space.

Like any other furniture, the folding bed has its advantages and disadvantages.

  1. Saving useful space- the main task of the built-in bed. When assembled, the furniture looks like a wardrobe, and at night it is converted into a comfortable sleeping place;
  2. Variety of models - furniture designers have come up with several styles and types of similar models. It is easy to find an option in the old classic design or high-tech style. The surface of the product on the outside is sometimes decorated with mirrors, which visually increase the volume of the room. This is very good for small rooms;
  3. Functionality of the product - at the base of the berth, special partitions serve as supports, which, when the bed is raised, are transformed into shelves;
  4. With the built-in bed, you can change the interior of the room by disassembling and assembling the sleeping place.

Along with the advantages, there are several disadvantages of the product:

  1. High cost - this is due to the installation of expensive lifting mechanisms in the design of furniture. The price of a bed is made up of several factors: material of the product frame, upholstery, mattress, installed lifting mechanisms;
  2. The need for daily transformation of the bed;
  3. Unreliable lifting mechanism in low quality models. Some owners of such furniture have a fear that the bed may collect at the most inopportune moment - when a person is sleeping;
  4. On folding furniture, unlike stationary ones, you cannot sit down at any moment. To rest, you have to disassemble it.

Views

Bed, retractable into the wall, or wardrobe outward appearance is no different from a regular wardrobe. Handles are placed on the bottom of the bed base and decorated to match the surrounding furniture.

There are two types of built-in products available in the furniture industry:

  • Horizontal;
  • Vertical.

The first option provides single and one-and-a-half models. The dimensions of the berth are made smaller than the total size of the bed so that there is space in the upper part for the shelves. They are used to store various things. Vertical lifting beds are wider than horizontal ones. Considering the length and weight of the product, the model is mounted to the wall of the room. The wall must be strong and reliable to support the weight of the structure. Walls of drywall sheets and aerated concrete will not fit. Modern ways production allows you to create different options design of furniture products.

By design, the following types of folding beds are distinguished:

  • Bed with a vertical lifting mechanism, built into the wardrobe with the headboard to the wall;
  • Built-in bed with horizontal mechanism, side to the wall;
  • Wardrobe-bed with sliding halves that cover the assembled bed.

By the type of bed, built-in beds are:

  • Single beds - differ in a narrow mattress, within 80-90 x 180-200 cm;
  • Lorries are wider, they can comfortably accommodate an adult or two children. Dimensions range from 120-140 x 180-200 cm;
  • Double - options offering a full berth 160-180 x 190-200 cm wide. You can choose an option that consists of two halves 70-95 cm wide;
  • Three-bedroom - are a two-level structure with an upper bed of 70-90 cm and a lower bed 120-160 cm;
  • Bunk - most often installed in children's rooms. The width of the products ranges from 80-120 cm, the length varies from 150 to 200 cm.

All of them are equipped with a spring or foam mattress. The frame of the furniture is made of fibreboard medium density (MDF) or laminated chipboard (chipboard). Usage natural wood in lifting products increases the total mass of the structure, and therefore requires the installation of reinforced lifting mechanisms, which affects the cost of furniture.

Folding bed

This kind upholstered furniture is in great demand. The main requirement is the usability of the product. Folding beds within a small room help create the image of a bedroom combined with a living room or children's room.

The strength of such products is their ability to simultaneously create comfort and save space. Furniture can be folded and disassembled, relieving the interior from congestion. The folding bed type can be vertical or horizontal. A stowed bed makes room for other activities.

In appearance, the folding design is completely different. In stores you can see how budget options, and quite expensive copies. If the furniture is still not within the power to buy different reasons, then it is easy to do it yourself. It should only be properly prepared required material and fixtures. For installation, the walls must be reliable and durable, made of a material that can withstand heavy loads. Can not be used as a base for installing a folding bed, walls or plasterboard partitions, as well as light wooden walls.

Built in wardrobe

Beds built into wardrobes are divided according to the size of the berth into:

  • Double;
  • Single;
  • Lorries.

Sometimes two beds are installed, built into the body of a furniture set. In small rooms, a wardrobe with a bed on lifting devices... The cabinet doors move apart, the bed drops, while the headboard remains inside the cabinet by only three tens of centimeters, which does not interfere at all. The main disadvantage of this design is that the opening of the cabinet sash blocks the adjacent furniture. This is very inconvenient, because if you need to take something from the shelf, you will need to raise the bed again and close the wardrobe.

To avoid this, they came up with one trick - a wardrobe with triple doors, each of which has its own guide. All doors sliding along the rails are moved to one extreme position, opening the bed for use and the section for linen or things. This design it is advisable to install in small rooms. However, open cabinet doors do not always look aesthetically pleasing.

Equally interesting will be the built-in bed model in the wardrobe. The result is a practical and versatile building. During the day it can be used as furniture for relaxation, and at night you can sleep on a full double bed. It is convenient to place such furniture in the living room and hall.

There is always not enough space in the children's room for games. With age, the baby needs more and more free space. Folding bed in the wall or closet or a bed built into the closet is the only find for loving parents. On the back of the bed base, you can securely attach photographs of children or any paintings. After raising the base and placing it in a vertical position, the decorated surface of the imaginary wall will open.

If two kids live in an apartment, it doesn't matter, you can safely install two built-in beds at once so that you get a bunk model. In the lower tier, you can mount drawers for linen, and in the design of the stairs leading to the upper bed, provide secret cabinets. It will be convenient if the lifting mechanism is fixed on the side of the bed, then it is easier to open it.

Hidden

Use in the interior of the apartment hidden structure is considered the most effective and convenient method of solving the shortage square meters... Modern standard beds occupy almost the entire area of the room. Because of this, there is nowhere to install other furniture, and there is simply no place for everyday pastime. A hidden bed solves this problem.

The sleeping place very quickly hides in a special recess in the wall. Moreover, when assembled, it almost does not differ from the surface of the entire wall or cabinet. The outer side of the hidden furniture is matched to the tone and quality of the surrounding material. Next to the bed furniture wall will be no different, but will look like a single whole. Designers have developed many practical ideas for creating hidden furniture. For example, when it rises, the bed turns into a shallow closet with shelves. Or an option when the bottom of the product with outside fixed large mirror, which in an upright state increases the space of the room.

On the surface of the furniture, you can apply a drawing or fix an original picture. They will serve as part of the interior decor of the room.

Transformer

The transformable bed, which can be folded into a wall or a wardrobe, includes two types of furniture - a functional wardrobe and a comfortable sleeping place. When assembled, the bed does not bother anyone and is invisible. If necessary, the structure is lowered and a sleeping bed opens, where you can relax. In addition, storage boxes are often added to the design of the bed.

There are bed models in which, when raised, the bottom is transformed into a storage system. Here shelves can be folded back, hanger holders can be pulled out. After folding, things on the hanger are neatly folded into a niche under the mattress.

The built-in transforming bed is a good decision use of free space in apartments with a small living area. Stopping at the choice of this type of furniture, before purchasing it, you should carefully study the types of transformable furniture products from various manufacturers.

Types of mechanisms

Furniture production does not stand still and is constantly developing. Popular models become obsolete over time and are replaced by new ones, which are also gaining wide popularity. Beds built into the walls and wardrobes have not given up their position for many years and remain in demand. They gained their fame thanks to special mechanisms that allow them to be lifted vertically without special efforts.

The lifting device is an important element in the construction of the transforming bed. Thanks to these modules, the entire structure, which weighs several tens of kilograms, can be easily lifted and turned into a vertical fragment of a cabinet or wall. Several lifting devices are shared:

  • Manual method;
  • Spring mechanism;
  • Gaslift.

The first option is the cheapest, but also the most capricious, requiring periodic adjustment and some effort when lifting furniture product... The mechanism does not contain additional springs and shock absorbers; lifting is carried out entirely by hand.

The second method is less laborious. In the spring version, there are already special shock absorbers in the form of coil springs, which allow you to raise the bed base without much effort.

Coiled springs are made of durable carbon steel wire... The service life of such mechanisms reaches 70 years, and this is with the daily transformation of furniture. The only drawback of the device is the appearance of noise during operation. Springs can stretch over time and need to be replaced.

The third option is the most convenient and difficult. The operation of the module is based on the action of piston devices filled with compressed air... When changing the position of the folding bed, the lifting mechanism smoothly changes the position of the furniture. At the same time, you do not need to make any special efforts, the device will do everything by itself. The gas lift is the most expensive of all types of devices today.

There are device models equipped with electric drive with remote control... This is a great way to transform furniture for people with disabilities or those who appreciate everything technogenic.

Think about which piece of furniture takes up the most space in the room? That's right, it is, of course.

This problem is especially acute in tight spaces and many decide to buy a folding sofa. But you must admit that no sofa in the world can fully replace a real bed.

It is for such cases that folding beds have been developed. As you may have guessed from the title of the article, today we will talk about how a folding bed is made with our own hands.

Video presentation - a wonderful 3-in-1 folding bed with your own hands

Do-it-yourself vanishing bed

Yes, that's what they call her sometimes. In most cases, such a bed is placed in a closet and is intended to save you free space.

There are two types of such products, and before we figure out how to make a folding bed with our own hands, we will consider the drawings and all that, it is necessary to understand all the intricacies of the design:

What does the folding bed-drawings consist of?

Let's look together at what a do-it-yourself folding bed will consist of, the drawings for which are presented in this article. Perhaps the most important element can be called a mattress.

Fortunately, such a bed is able to "take" almost everything known varieties mattresses, but it is better, of course, to choose an orthopedic model for yourself.

Also, the bed will have special mechanisms designed to raise or lower the structure. Their quality will directly depend on the effort with which you will fold the bed into a niche. If it is high, then the model practically takes its original position.

Today there are three types of mechanisms:

  1. Mechanical.
  2. On springs.
  3. On gas shock absorbers.

Folding bed - starting construction

If you have planned a folding bed with your own hands and you will place it rationally, then during the day it will not take up space at all. Let's consider the main stages of its manufacture.

First step.

We decide what we need for work: a frame, a lifting mechanism and, accordingly, a bed.

Second phase.

You should start with a frame, or box. It can be in the form of both a detail and a separate object of room design. When choosing the material for the box, remember that your efforts will be made to lift it, following the bed. That is why the wall to which the entire structure will be attached must be built of concrete in order to withstand such a load.

Stage three.

We fasten the box to the wall, based on the upper horizontal and the pivot axis of the structure. In this case, the thickness of the walls located vertically is usually 2.5 centimeters, and horizontally - from 1.5 to 2.5 centimeters.

Stage four.

What does the box actually consist of? From two main parts: skirting boards and shelves for an emphasis. Regarding the back wall, it is not at all necessary to do it. Well, unless you want to give your bed some kind of completeness, or something. If we want us to get a high-quality folding bed with our own hands, then we need to use only chipboard.

Stage five.

All parts are fastened with self-tapping screws located 25 centimeters apart. The back wall (if any) is pushed up to the box even before we fix it. You need to put the box on a flat floor.

Stage six.

We calculate the dimensions of our box. This process will be influenced by several factors at once: the size of the mattress and the bed itself, the thickness of the back, and so on.

Stage seven.

To make the bed, we need two side boards, two backs and a headboard. Sturdy straps can be used to secure the mattress to the bed. For the rest of the parts, mounting corners are used.

Stage eight, concluding.

We connect the bed with the box by means of a lifting mechanism. We recommend that you don't reinvent the wheel and get yourself a factory-fitted gas-spring hoist. This detail will allow you to fix the structure in almost any position you need.

So, we examined how a folding bed is made with our own hands, the drawings are also given in the article, it remains only to give you a few concluding tips. So, a base from an old bed is perfect for a box - this will save you time and energy.

But before assembly, you should consult with professionals, so that your design does not crumble soon.

In any home, there is a piece of furniture that takes up the most space, of course, this is a bed. It is especially difficult for the owners of small apartments, so many of them prefer folding sofas... But, in fact, no sofa can fully replace a comfortable spacious bed. It is for such cases that the folding mechanisms... Today we will talk about how a folding bed is made with our own hands.

Do you need this kind of furniture?

Lack of living space is a problem for many modern families. V small rooms it is necessary to place the entire set of furniture, without which in ordinary life not enough. A do-it-yourself foldable bed made at home can help save space and improve sleep quality. Of course, it is easier to visit the nearest furniture salon and buy it there, but why spend extra money, because you can do everything yourself? The work process does not imply any special difficulties, it is enough to be able to handle a certain tool, and necessary components and fittings can be purchased at the market or in a specialized store. Like any other piece of furniture, this bed has its pros and cons.

Advantages:

  • Saving time, efforts of the hostess and free space. The assembled upholstery does not accumulate dust.
  • Aesthetics. A large berth is perfectly disguised when assembled under a chest of drawers or wardrobe.

Disadvantages:

  • Difficulty in transportation to another place.
  • You will have to spend your own on making free time and strength.

What are folding beds?

Basically, such furniture is placed in cabinets, because it is intended to save free space. Before we look at how a folding bed is made with our own hands, drawings and diagrams, we should figure out what such structures are:

  1. Vertical beds. As a rule, they are placed in special niches in the wall. If desired, the furniture can be hidden with colorful original photowall-paper. Such models are suitable for everyone, regardless of weight, height, age. They can be single or double.
  2. Horizontal models. This design assumes that the left or right side of the bed will be located near the wall instead of the headboard.

Important! More often, such options are used in children's rooms, because babies do not need too much space to sleep. This model is much easier to open than the vertical one.

What materials are needed for the job?

Before you make your own folding bed, buy everything necessary materials... Below we provide an approximate list, which you can change depending on the situation.

You will need:

  • For the manufacture of the frame wooden bar section 40 by 40.
  • Edged boards for crossbeams.
  • Furniture panels for the manufacture of sides and backs.
  • Plywood sheets.
  • Legs.
  • For attaching the bed to the wall with hinges.
  • Mattress.
  • Folding mechanism.

Main components

A special role is played by the mechanism for the folding bed with your own hands, as well as the mattress. In fact, such a piece of furniture is able to accept almost any type of mattress, but it is better, of course, to purchase an orthopedic model. The mechanism for raising and lowering the structure, of course, is its most important component. The quality of this detail determines how simple and easy it will be for you to hide the bed in a niche.

Important! If you give preference to the high option, then it will practically independently occupy its original position.

On this moment there are three options for folding mechanisms:

  • Mechanical.
  • On gas shock absorbers.
  • On springs.

Self-assembly of a folding bed

If you have planned folding bed do it yourself, then subject to its rational placement, you can save a lot of space in the daytime, because it will practically not take up space.

For assembly, you will need a frame, a lifting mechanism, a bed. Make the bed according to this step-by-step scheme:

  • We start with the wireframe. It can be made in the form of a cabinet or any other piece of furniture that matches design decoration premises.

Important! When choosing material for the box, remember that you will have to lift it after the main structure. And the wall to which you decide to attach the product must be concrete, capable of withstanding such a huge load.

  • Attach the box to the wall using the repeat pins and the upper horizontal of the structure. The thickness of the walls located vertically should be 2.5 cm, and those that are horizontal should be 1.5-2.5 cm.
  • The frame will consist of a plinth and a persistent shelf. The back wall can be omitted. If you think that in your case it is necessary, then use the chipboard plates.
  • Attach all parts with self-tapping screws, and they should be located at a distance of 25 cm from each other. Move back wall to the box until it is secured. It must be installed on a flat floor.
  • Calculate the dimensions of the case, taking into account the dimensions of the mattress, the bed itself, the thickness of the back.
  • Take two side boards, a headboard, and two backs to make a bed. Secure the mattress to the bed with strong straps. The rest of the parts can be mounted with mounting angles.
  • Connect the bed to the box using a lifting mechanism.

Important! It is better to give preference to the factory-made gas spring version, so that you can fix the bed in the wall with your own hands in any position.

Making a wardrobe bed with your own hands is quite simple if you correctly approach this issue, pick up good drawings and equip the bedroom with modern, multifunctional furniture. And how exactly to do this, we will talk in our material.

Structurally, the transformer bed wardrobe can be divided into two types:

  • Horizontal;
  • Vertical.

Each wardrobe bed has its own characteristics and advantages, so be guided by your own wishes and requirements. Plus, do not forget whether this or that transformer design will allow it to fit favorably in your bedroom.

Regardless of the location option, each transformer bed, combined with a wardrobe, includes three elements:

  • Cabinet box. It is quite possible to do it yourself;
  • Bed. Sleeping place. The bed can be double, lorry or single. Many people prefer to buy a ready-made stock;
  • Bed lift. The system that is responsible for raising and lowering the bed into the cabinet. Here it is better not to invent, but to buy a ready-made, high-quality and efficient mechanism.

Box

For the box, you can use wooden planks or high quality chipboard. Based on the drawings, you can easily independently be able to make a full-fledged transformer bed-wardrobe into your own bedroom.

  1. Choose a wall where the bed is placed with a wardrobe, at least 2 bricks thick.
  2. If the material is chipboard, the slabs are not particularly light, so be sure to reinforce the vertical walls on which the movable part of the bed will be held.
  3. The box is the main, supporting component of the entire transformer, therefore, you should not save on the reliability and strength of the materials used.
  4. Having assembled a frame of three walls, you can start choosing a bed and a lifting mechanism.

Lifting mechanisms

The transformer will require lifting mechanisms, which will greatly simplify the process of turning the cabinet into a bed and vice versa.

Today the range of lifts is represented by a wide selection, where you can find:

  • The simplest garage curtains;
  • Solid axes;
  • Trunnions with bearings;
  • Hydraulic drives;
  • Electrical devices, etc.

In order for a double bed to rise and fall easily enough, sometimes you just need to fix the lifts. But here you should focus on the fact that the lifting and fixing of the berth are carried out without effort. For these purposes, experts advise using:

  • Counterweights;
  • Gas shock absorbers;
  • Coiled spring blocks.

Among all the options presented, gas shock absorbers are the most versatile, reliable and modern. Plus, they simplify the process of transforming furniture as much as possible, since they take on the main load.

Bed

Assembling a transformer in the form of a bed with a wardrobe, Special attention should be given to a sleeping place. We noted that the stock can be purchased ready-made, thereby avoiding a rather laborious process for its manufacture.

But if you want to make furniture in the bedroom completely with your own hands, developed drawings and chose a photo as an example of the ultimate goal, then try to build a bed yourself.

Many people make a bed for a transformer based on factory-type frames with orthopedic properties. For this, manufacturers use metal profiles, curved canvas slats and an orthopedic mattress.

What kind of transformer bed can you make?

  1. The frame of a bed or bed is constructed from boards, wooden blocks, based on prepared drawings. The skeleton will determine the dimensions of the future bed, its dimensions. Please note that it must fit inside the cabinet, otherwise it will no longer be a transformer.
  2. Buy a ready-made orthopedic mattress. Moreover, first a mattress is purchased, and on its basis, calculations of the size of the future bed-wardrobe are made. No other way. Otherwise, you may simply not guess, then everything will have to be redone all over again.
  3. Instead of bent slats, boards fixed flat across the width of the bed with a gap of about 1 centimeter between them are suitable. Or you can install several boards on the edges, and fix on top chipboard sheet or plywood of sufficient thickness. Both design options will have approximately the same weight and strength level.
  4. A wall can act as a headboard, that is, you will sleep with your head as if inside a cabinet. If the bed is installed horizontally, then you can come up with something individually for yourself, so that there is something to lean on with the back of your head.

A finished bed will cost at least 20 thousand rubles, and the price of a homemade bed can be about 5 thousand. The choice is yours.

Cupboard

In addition to the fact that the bed will be hidden in the closet, it can be used on direct appointment... This is especially true for horizontally placed beds, where top part cabinet will be completely free to accommodate shelves, hangers, drawers there.

If you like more vertical arrangement, where the bed is laid up, then the transformer cabinet can be made into two sections or more, where:

  • The first will be completely dedicated to the bed;
