Slate

Requirements for temporary fences
Normative acts that directly regulate the need for a temporary barrier and how it should be are also the standards of the Soviet era (with subsequent changes):
- The norms and rules adopted in 1985, which are called the "Organization construction industry" (abbreviated to indicate them as SNiP 0.01.01-85).
- Entered into force in the second half of 1979, the interstate standard “Inventory fencing of construction sites and sites for the production of construction and installation works. Specifications" (its abbreviation is GOST 23407-78 group Zh07).
So, according to the requirements of part two of paragraph 1.3 of the above building codes and regulations of 85, it is impossible to start building an object (or even part of it) before the construction site fencing is made.
All requirements for technological moments such structures are enshrined in the above GOST. Let's dwell on them in detail:
- the fence must comply with approved samples;
- the fence must have gates and wickets so that transport and workers can move freely;
- the fence must be “design” (assemble and disassemble) with elements (parts, fasteners, etc.) of the same sample;
- the height of the structure, pillars, the slope of the canopies, etc. must comply with the specified parameters;
- panels should be rectangular;
- the length of the panels and the distance between the racks must comply with the specified GOST standards (respectively, in meters from 1.2 to 2, and the racks - no more than 6);
- the degree of "sparseness" between the details of the panel fabric of the fence (except for the mesh) must be observed - 80-100 mm;
- there should be no gaps in the flooring of the sidewalk more than 5 mm;
- protective visors should be deployed in the right direction and cover people walking there with a margin, and also so that water can flow freely over them;
- on the sidewalk it is impossible to leave for the passage of people less than 1.2 meters;
- the railings must be attached to the visor of the fence or to its upper edge and have a barrier strip from the roadway at a height of 0.5 and 1.1 m;
- the structure must be arranged in such a way that it can be repaired, cleaned, but at the same time, so that it is durable;
- the presence of a slope of the terrain should not be a threat to the fence;
- care must be taken that it does not rust or rot;
- the fence needs to be painted in a certain way;
- it should not contain potentially traumatic parts ( sharp corners, hooks, etc.);
- the fence must be stable - withstand a certain weight falling on it (at least 200 kilograms per square centimeter) or wind force, as well as the weight of snow;
- it must be reliable - the materials used for its manufacture must comply with regulatory requirements, and their manufacturers to accompany them with certificates of quality conformity;
- the fence must be guaranteed to be in operation for at least 10 years, and if these are sidewalk decking panels, then at least 5.
Types of fences
The same rule divides barriers according to their intended purpose into:
- signal, that is, those that clearly and unambiguously indicate to everyone and everyone that construction work is underway in such a place;
- protective- they protect people from possible dangers;
- security, which are designed to prevent the appearance of strangers on the construction site.
The purpose of installing security fences is that strangers should not enter the construction site, so they are not much different from a conventional fence that encloses any industrial facility or residential building.
Protective ones are designed to protect people from injury, which may well take place, given the nature of the work performed. Therefore, the most common type of temporary fencing here is facade mesh, which does a good job of “catching” everything that can fall from scaffolding (remnants of materials, garbage, tools, and even workers) when falling.
The task of signaling is a visual designation of the construction site, warning people about a possible danger. Suitable for this special warning tape(similar to the police), which is stretched between pins fixed in the ground.
By design, the following types should be distinguished:
- rack-mount;
- panel, which in turn can be sparse (for example, grid) or solid;
- a combination of the first two.

The situation is similar with chain-link fences: their advantages (cheapness and ease of installation) are suppressed by the requirements of GOST.
