How to grow a nectarine from a seed. How to grow a peach from a stone at home: three effective ways

The prospect of growing a beautiful and rare plant for its place attracts many gardeners. But not every one of them is sure that a heat-loving tree can take root somewhere other than the southern latitudes. A beautifully flowering and fragrant tree is worth trying to grow it from a seed. If done correctly, you can get a strong and fairly stable plant. Growing heat-loving plants from seeds is more preferable than buying ready-made seedlings grown in nursery greenhouse conditions. They are more viable and bear fruit better.

Choose the most juicy, delicious and ripe fruits. It is better if these are varieties that grow well and bear fruit in our country. At least, they are more preferable than peaches growing in distant hot countries.

After choosing several perfectly healthy fruits, for example, 10-20 pieces, free the bones. The more seeds, the higher the chances of getting several plants, among which you can choose the strongest and most resilient. Take only whole bones. It is not uncommon for peaches when the fruit contains a cracked stone, from which it is easy to extract the kernel. It is better to refuse such seed, because very often such a seed occurs in plants supersaturated with nitrates, which will adversely affect the future seedling.

To grow a peach from a seed, take whole seeds, soak them in settled water at room temperature 5-7 days before planting. Water should be changed daily at the same time. Then dry the bones and remove the kernels from them. Unfortunately, nothing better than just cracking a bone with a hammer has been invented, so you need to act very carefully, because only intact kernels are suitable for planting.

Having taken out the kernels, they should immediately be planted in open ground, to a depth of 6-8 cm. It is better to do this on open space, stepping back from nearby trees and bushes by at least 4 meters. The soil for planting should be well fertilized, it should be loose and soft. It is best to plant peaches in the fall so that the plant gives strong shoots and the emerging seedlings can overwinter. Some of the plants self-reject and by spring only the strongest and healthiest will survive.

In the spring, the intensive formation of the root system begins, so the plant requires abundant watering. With positive temperatures, peach seedlings need to be watered daily. We should not forget about feeding.

The stem begins to develop a little later than the roots. At this time, the trees are very vulnerable to disease, so they need to be sprayed regularly. by special means against garden pests.

At good care over the summer, the seedling grows up to 1-1.5 meters high, gives a lot of side branches. It is best to start forming the crown when the tree reaches 60-80 cm in height. To do this, cut off the top of the plant and the weakest branches. But the main pruning is done only next spring, when the tree is already stronger. At the same time, a crown is also formed and all branches that are weak and frozen over the winter are cut off. On a young trunk, the thickest and most correctly located branches are left. This spring, the tree can be transplanted to a permanent place.

Within 3-4 years of life, the trees need to be insulated for the winter. Then they will get stronger and will be able to tolerate the winter cold well.

A peach tree grown from a stone will begin to bear fruit already in 3-4 years. In our climate, it will produce a crop for 10-12 years, after which the number of fruits will begin to decrease.

Be sure to try growing a peach from a seed if you have such a desire. The example of many gardeners convinces that even such a heat-loving tree can be grown in summer cottages and gardens, if you approach the issue correctly and take into account all the features of planting a seedling.

The mysterious nectarine tree, whose fruits look like peaches, still raises questions from breeders about its origin.

Some say that it is a hybrid between common peach and Chinese plum. Others think it's just a mutation. But the fruit tastes more like a peach. Is it possible to grow such a tree yourself from a seed?

Description of the nectarine tree and the procedure for growing it from the stone

"Nectarine" means nectar, which indicates the high content of sugary substances in the plant. Nectarine and peach trees are similar to each other, as is the technology of their cultivation.

Nectarine is a large tree, reaching 5-7 m in height. It begins to bloom even before the first leaves appear on it. A tree covered with pink flowers looks very unusual. The formation of fruits occurs on one-year-old branches. The fruits are greenish-yellow, up to 4 cm in diameter.

The tree is warm. Only with an abundance of warm and sunny days you can get sweet, fully ripened fruits. Nectarine can withstand low winter temperatures, but already at t -22 ° C, flower buds are damaged.

Breeders are working on the creation of frost-resistant varieties, and for now we will try to grow nectarine from the stone at home.

There are people who want to quickly see the grown fruit tree and get a harvest. They will buy a seedling and in 3-5 years they will start to get delicious fruits. But there are those who want to go through the whole thorny path of growing a tree from start to finish. For example, start with a bone, below we will give instructions on how to do this:

Important: Bones are best taken from late-ripening local crops. They have higher germination and better varietal qualities.

We looked at the main steps and figured out how to grow a nectarine from a large but hard seed.

Nectarine: planting and care

If you plan to grow a plant at home, then it is better to plant a seedling in a deep pot or tub, because. The root system of the nectarine goes deep into the soil. IN warm summer the tub can be taken out into the street, in a cool place - left in a greenhouse or a spacious room in a well-lit place. But the best nectarine will be in the fresh air.

The soil should be nutritious and loose, well pass water and air. It can be a soil mixture of soddy soil, leaf humus, peat and coarse sand. We plant the plant in the spring.

How to plant a nectarine so that it grows quickly? It is very simple - after digging a small hole in a pot and watering it with water, we plant small plant. Usually, the growth per season is 15 cm, i.e. the nectarine grows as fast as the peach.

Important: Nectarine is a fast-growing tree, already for 3 years it begins to bear fruit and proper care gives up to 25 fruits. They are sweet, aromatic and juicy. Well separated from the bone.

There are also undersized varieties for room culture: they grow slowly, and their height is up to 1.5 m. Their common name is patio nectarines: Nectarella or Lord Napier, White, Pineapple. They do not take up much space, they begin to bear fruit in 3 years.

How to care for a tree?

Criteria that you can completely focus on are the requirements for caring for a peach tree. They are similar to nectarines in many ways. Consider how to grow a nectarine:

Possible problems

How to grow a nectarine and avoid problems? Unfortunately, this is not always possible. Sometimes in room conditions a small nectarine seedling refuses to take root. What could be the reasons?

The rules are simple, they apply to most seedlings. Just don't leave the nectarine unattended.

We figured out the rules for planting and caring for a nectarine hybrid. Now try to grow this fruit tree yourself.

If you do everything right, you will soon enjoy delicious yellow-pink fruits and treat your relatives. Try it and you will succeed!

Gardeners are very inquisitive people. Not more than a hundred years ago middle lane Russia grew a few orchards with apples and cherries of folk selection. Most modern varieties appeared within a single generation.

The technology of growing cherries and apricots has already been mastered, winter-hardy varieties these trees. Gardeners did not calm down on this. Growing a peach from a stone at home, getting fruits in the conditions of central Russia is the dream of many gardeners. How to do it right and what you can count on, this is our story.

Reproduction with bones

IN Lately growing passion for growing southern exotic trees at home. The beginning was laid by Pavlovian lemons, which successfully bore fruit on the northern windowsills.

Over time, tangerines, grapefruits, and oranges joined the lemons. Then it was the turn of coffee, feijoa, papaya and pineapple. Peaches grow much closer to the middle lane than these exotics, which do well in the house. Why not try to breed a peach at home.

Important! Of course, there are no special varieties of indoor peaches.

Although this is a low plant, it is still a tree. Therefore, it will not be possible to grow it in a pot. However, growing peaches through seedlings grown from seeds planted in pots is a very promising occupation.

Rules for choosing the right planting material

For successful breeding plants, you need to know which bones to choose. Fruits bought in the store are not suitable for this event:

  • fruits are brought from very warm countries(Turkey, China, Italy) and trees from them will not be able to acclimatize in Russia;
  • fruits are harvested at the stage of technical ripeness for long-term transportation, the nucleoli in them are not mature;
  • fruits are processed chemicals to extend the storage time, because of them the bones become brittle and often crack.

You can grow a peach from any fruit. But in the garden, the seedling will die due to the local climate unsuitable for it.

Important! For breeding peach bone buy fruits grown in Russia. And the closer they grow peaches to the place of future landing, the better.

Growing a fruit-bearing peach from a stone at home is laborious, but very interesting process. Such trees are best adapted to local conditions.

If you manage to get winter-hardy peach pits early varieties then success is guaranteed. To such varieties growing in southern regions Russia without shelter, and in the Moscow region with shelter, include:

  1. Kyiv early - a low tree of 3 meters in height. Distinctive feature varieties - quick recovery from frost damage. Fruits weighing 80-90 g ripen in early August, have greenish-white flesh.
  2. Pushkin early - the tree grows up to 6 m in height. Fruits weighing 100–120 g ripen at the end of August and have greenish-creamy flesh.
  3. Redhaven - an old American variety reaches a height of 5 m. At the end of August, large fruits weighing 140–160 g ripen with an orange-yellow core and pink stains in the center.

Seeds of these varieties are best suited for growing in the central regions of Russia. Reproduction by bones does not repeat varietal features parent plant, but the seedlings are the most adapted to local climatic conditions.

Landing

How to grow a peach from a seed at home is not an easy question. The stone germinates reluctantly, only 25% of the planted seeds will give seedlings. To still get seedlings, you must follow certain rules:

  • completely clear the seed from the pulp of the fruit;
  • soak for 10 days before planting. In the last two days, it is advisable to add a growth stimulator to the water.

The nucleolus will germinate only after overwintering, so the pot with plantings should be buried in the garden. Best time for landing - the end of October or the beginning of November. If this is not possible, you can put the pot in a cold cellar or in the refrigerator. In this case, you need to check the moisture content of the soil.

Important! The peach is undemanding to the soil, any prepared land is suitable.

Naturally, it should be loose. The seed is planted at a depth of 6-8 cm.

After 3-4 months, sprouts appear from the seeds. It is important that the air temperature does not change abruptly. You can not take the seedlings out of the refrigerator and put them on a sunny window. Tender sprouts will quickly die from such drastic changes. Seedlings are kept in a cold place, gradually accustoming to heat.

Such difficulties do not arise if the seedlings grow in the garden. Tempering takes place naturally.

You can grow a seedling from a seed in a room. Before planting, the seeds should lie in the refrigerator for 6-8 days. The pot is covered with glass or plastic bag. If condensation occurs, ventilate it.

Germination begins with the development and growth of the root. Therefore, seedlings from peach pits will have to wait several months. After germination, the polyethylene cover can be removed.

The disadvantage of this method of obtaining germinated seeds is that the grown plants will be less adapted to an unsuitable climate due to the lack of hardening.

Experienced gardeners use a different method of growing seedlings:

  • the bones are soaked for two weeks;
  • open them, opening the shell;
  • the nucleoli are again soaked for two days;
  • swollen nucleoli are sown to a depth of 3–4 cm.

With this method, faster and more friendly shoots are achieved from planted nucleoli.

How to germinate a peach seed, what method to use, lovers of garden exotics decide based on their capabilities and conditions.

Care of seedlings at home

For peach summer young tree from a stone on the windowsill can grow in height more than a meter. The main thing is to create for him good conditions for development:

  • sufficient illumination;
  • timely watering;
  • abundant top dressing;
  • correct temperature;
  • effective pruning.

Important! Peach is a plant with a pronounced dormant period. IN winter months He does not need lighting and top dressing.

It is only required to monitor the moderate moisture content of the soil in the pot and keep the sleeping tree in a cool room at a temperature of + 2-4 ° C. Only when the buds swell, the plant needs to provide intensive care.

The southern plant needs good lighting. If seedlings appeared in the house before April, they will need additional lighting. LED lamp consume little electricity and emit a spectrum of light suitable for plants.

IN young age the tree is very moisture-loving. Watering is carried out as the soil dries with warm water.

For fertilizer use a complex mineral fertilizer with trace elements such as Agricola, as the plant is demanding on the presence of trace elements such as copper. Seedlings need fertilizing only from the second year of life.

Foliar feeding is preferred. For this, an effective solution is prepared, which contains all the main elements of top dressing and trace elements. Take and mix:

  • 5 g of soda ash;
  • 1 g of boric acid;
  • 2 g blue vitriol;
  • a drop of iodine;
  • potassium permanganate crystal;
  • liter of water.

Spraying is repeated twice a month. Top dressing is done 2 times a month until September. In September, the tree begins to prepare for the winter season.

Important! The temperature of keeping young seedlings in spring should correspond to + 10-15 ° C, after flowering and before harvesting fruits + 18-25 ° C.

Starting from the second year of life, young seedlings begin to form with pruning. Caring for them is impossible without creating the correct goblet crown and adjusting the height of the tree. Flowering takes place on the side branches, so vigorous shoots are pruned annually.

Is it possible to grow a peach tree at home? Only if there is a greenhouse, winter Garden or insulated loggia. In the room suitable conditions impossible to create. Therefore, at the age of one year they are planted in the garden.

Transplant to the ground

In the first year, the young seedling grows to 1–1.5 m in height. In September, seedlings of grown trees are planted in the garden.

How to plant a peach so that it grows actively in the garden? The place should be well lit by the sun, closed from strong winds. The distance between peach trees 3-4 meters. The same amount should be up to trees and buildings growing nearby.

A landing hole is dug in advance with a diameter of 1 m and the same depth. A bucket of humus or manure, several buckets of water are brought in for planting. Seedlings are planted on a mound of fertile land, fall asleep and rammed. Water again after planting.

A young tree is tied to a peg driven in nearby, trunk circle mulch with organic matter.

Important! Not all varieties are self-pollinating plants, so you need to plant at least 3-4 plants nearby.

In the first years of life, a peach grown from seedlings must be especially carefully prepared for winter: cover the near-stem circle with a thick layer of mulch, tie the stem with building insulation, and wrap it with burlap.

The tree can suffer from fungal diseases and other infections:

  • scab
  • leaf curl;
  • fruit rot;
  • clasteropsoriasis;
  • moniliosis.

In addition, it can suffer from garden pests: aphids, scale insects, spider mite and fruit moths.

To prevent all these troubles, you need to know how to properly do prevention for a peach. In spring and autumn, a tree is regularly formed, carrying out sanitary and rejuvenating pruning. Do preventive treatment with fungicides.

Peach is a fast-growing plant. Perhaps already 2-3 years after planting in the garden, it can bear the first fruits.

Conclusion

Is it possible to plant a peach orchard in central Russia? How to grow a fruiting peach from a seed? Everyone can plant a bone, but not everyone can grow a tree. Only a patient and attentive gardener can grow a peach grove in central Russia.

The nectarine came to Europe from China, where it has been cultivated for many thousands of years. The plant was brought by Marco Polo in the 14th century. In our time, varieties have appeared with large fruits, in the Mediterranean countries this crop is grown on an industrial scale. The plant has good resistant qualities, the fruits have great amount vitamins and beneficial trace elements. In Russia, special cold-resistant varieties are cultivated; they perfectly tolerate winters even in the middle lane.

Selection and preparation of seed

For growing nectarine from the stone, it is recommended to choose the fruits of late-ripening plants that developed in the same area, so that the "continuity of generations" is preserved, then the quality of the fruits will not suffer. The bones must be free from damage and any defects.

The method of growing nectarine from the stone contains positive and negative sides. The plant will inevitably lose varietal characteristics. Reason: Seeds can only be set with the help of cross-pollination, they are not transferred to 100% of all the characteristics of the parent tree. Fruits appear only after 3-4 years, and a plant grown in this way is more resistant to negative environmental phenomena.

How to germinate and plant a seed?

Nectarine unusual tree, many scientists believe that this is a fruitful result of crossing peach and plum. The taste of nectarine, indeed, is more like a peach. To grow a nectarine from a stone, you should take only ripe fruits (even a little overripe), they can be found in any market. This fruit ripens in Russia in the second half of summer. It is best for a nectarine variety to have the following characteristics:

  • was undersized;
  • early in time;
  • self-pollinated.

Very good varieties nectarines that feel great in the middle lane:

  • Kyiv;
  • minion early;
  • Krasnodar;
  • pineapple.

"Kyiv"

"Krasnodar"

Before planting begins, the fruit should be carefully inspected for mold or any damage. For greater fidelity, it is best to take several fruits. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  • the bone is taken out and washed in running water;
  • dry planting material follows in the room;
  • a couple of days before planting, the bone should be put in a jar of water;
  • it is recommended to add growth stimulants to the container.

There are complex methods that can be conditionally divided into three types:

  • chill;
  • high-speed;
  • hot.

The first is considered certified: the bones are placed in a pot to a depth of 10 cm, then placed in a cool place (basement, cellar, refrigerator). The task is very simple: to keep the soil in a state of high humidity. The bone will begin to germinate in five months. It is important to remember that there should not be sudden changes temperatures, the plant does not like it very much. Indoor temperature should not exceed +10 degrees, if the seed has sprouted, then you can raise the temperature to +20 degrees.

hot method sprouting more dynamic. Bones are placed in the refrigerator for a week, after which they can be planted in pots. Next, the pots are placed in a room that is well lit.

The container can be covered with PVC film, then there will be a greenhouse effect. Condensation will form, once a day the jar should be opened so that fresh oxygen enters.

Slots should be present at the bottom of the pot so that air exchange takes place in the soil. At first, the roots of the future tree sprout from the bone, only then, after 6-7 weeks, the first sprouts will appear. It is important to remember that the bone must be in a humid environment, but the soil must not rot, that is, there must be air exchange. For this reason, drainage must be present at the bottom of the pot.

There is a more efficient way, for this, the seed should be carefully removed from the shell. It should be placed in a humid environment and wait for it to swell. After a couple of days, the bone can be installed in the ground to a depth of no more than five centimeters. To make the plant develop faster, you can create a small "greenhouse effect" for the plant.

Where nectarine seedlings (and any others) are located, there must be a full-fledged air exchange, without which the normal development of plants is impossible. Must also be present artificial lighting. The temperature during the cold months should be around +4 degrees Celsius. In the spring, seedlings should be placed in a room where the temperature should be around +15 degrees.

seedling care

Fruits begin to form on the tree when it reaches two years of age. In diameter, they can reach five centimeters. Nectarine tolerates quite well low temperatures, but in order for the fruits to be juicy and tasty, the plant needs a lot of sunlight. Artificial light also promotes fruit ripening, so the culture can be grown in tubs at home.

If you plant a nectarine at home, then first of all it is worth considering: how to trim correctly so that the crown is formed correctly. It largely depends on what parameters the tree will have, how well it will bear fruit.

There are many other factors that can affect the development of a plant. There are cases when a seedling simply stops growing for unknown reasons, this culture is rather capricious. The main mistakes can be the following:

  • improper observance of landing dates;
  • the variety is not suitable for the area;
  • stunted root system, does not allow the plant to develop.

There are also irrational moments when everything seems to be done correctly, but the plant still withers and even dies. With nectarine, such unpredictable incidents are possible, a similar fact should be taken into account.

How and when to transplant a tree?

Nectarine transplantation should be done taking into account all agrotechnical regulations. The plant is quite capricious and demanding, so compliance with all norms will not be superfluous. The seedling should grow at least 45 cm, with such growth it is already possible to make the first pruning, not the subject of crown decoration. Without fail, deformed and dried branches should be cut.

When transplanting, it is best to use organic fertilizers, also often young plants are treated with drugs protective property"Ridomil" and "Thiovit". It is important on what soils the culture will grow. The soil should not be loamy or sandy, it should not be waterlogged or waterlogged. A soil that has a pH value of 6 is best suited. The ideal soil is one that is rich in humus, well ventilated and moisture permeable. Drainage from fine gravel is poured at the bottom of the hole. The root system will be based on it. After planting is completed, the plant is well watered with warm water.

root system nectarine is developed (even in a young plant), so it is better to choose a container for planting a seedling or a stone “with a margin”. If you grow nectarine at home, you will need barrels or tubs with a volume of 60 liters. At the same time, it should be understood that in greenhouse conditions the plant will not be as tall as if it were cultivated in the fresh air.

Reproduction in the fall of nectarines occurs with the help of grafting (budding), with such work, all the specifics of the variety are normally preserved. If the soil is swampy or waterlogged, then it is best to use cherry plum or plum as a stock. It should be borne in mind that these cultures do not always ideally coincide with all varieties of nectarines. Good rootstocks for nectarine are also almonds and peach.

Breeding on suburban area fruit crops. How to grow a nectarine at home from a seed to collect annually bountiful harvest: for this, you should follow the rules for storing and germinating seeds.

Description of the nectarine tree

Nectarine trees are very beautiful and useful at their summer cottage. Nectarine fruits are famous for their taste, the tree brings a stable harvest every year.

Nectarine is a vigorous plant, reaching a height of up to 7 m, its crown grows up to 4 m in diameter. Flowering is happening in early spring, even before the leaves open.

Previously, it was believed that nectarine grows only in the southern regions and countries, but over time and the development of selection has become possible cultivation cultures even in central Russia, where there are humid and cold climatic conditions.

Growing Features

To grow a nectarine from a seed at home, you first need to select the planting material correctly. The surest way to select seeds is to select fruits on the tree, they must be ripe, undamaged, large. It is required to carefully separate the nectarine bone from the soft part of the fruit. Several seeds are required, they are laid out on a newspaper or paper and left to dry in direct sunlight, which will take 3-4 hours.

Now you should carefully evaluate the condition of the seeds, for this they are examined on both sides for chips, breaks or other defects. Remove all spoiled bones, and soak the good ones in clean water for 4 days, the water is changed every 12 hours so that it does not stagnate.

Germination

Each seed must go through a process of exposure to cold and moisture, as in natural conditions. At home, this is called stratification, when the seed is about 2.5 months in an artificially created humid environment.

In order to germinate a seed, stratification must be carried out correctly; before starting it, be sure to select a disinfecting fungicide to avoid mold from staying seeds in an airtight package or pot.

Seeds are distributed into several equal parts so as not to stratify them in one container. Organization of the process is an important point.

  1. Prepare an airtight package, you can also stratify the seeds in a pot, which is filled with moistened soil and covered with cling film.
  2. Choose a substrate for storing seeds - sawdust, sand, soil.
  3. Moisten the substrate.
  4. Apply a fungicide such as "Oxyquinoline" at the dosage indicated on the package.
  5. Place the containers in a cold room or refrigerator at temperatures up to +5 °C.

Landing nuances

If you are thinking about how to grow a nectarine from a stone, you must first decide what time of the year is best to plant in the ground. Growing nectarine from the stone can be done at any time of the year. Mandatory conditions for planting in open ground:

  • plant a tree away from already grown crops by 4 m;
  • growing the plant should be in conditions of good sunlight;
  • plant a tree in a draft-free area;
  • nectarine has a highly developed rhizome, so they choose desired area in the country, where there is no high occurrence groundwater.

Landing in summer

To plant a stone in the summer, long stratification in a pot is not required. Before planting, the seed is treated in a solution of potassium permanganate for 3 days, which will avoid the formation of fungal infections.

The bone should be split and a seed should be taken out inside it, which is planted in a specially dug trench 20 cm deep. Beforehand, a plot with fertilizer should be dug up in a couple of days. Sow seeds in a trench at a distance of 5 cm from each other and cover with soil, make a mound of earth along the edges of the hole to make it easier to bring water.

Planting in autumn

You can grow a nectarine from a seed in the fall. To do this, you will need to select planting material and sow it in the selected area. It is necessary to plant the seeds in the middle or late autumn: remember that they are not soaked before planting in the fall. During winter period seeds will undergo natural hardening and natural selection will occur.

In November, a trench with planted bones should be covered with sawdust or fallen leaves so that during the period severe frosts they didn't die out. With the advent of spring, the covering layer should be removed to allow the seeds to sprout.

Planting in the spring

Cultivation in the spring is carried out after home stratification of seeds and, accordingly, already germinated material is planted in the soil. For planting sprouts, huge pots are specially prepared, which are filled with a special mixture of soil and fertilizer. Soil may include:

  • peat;
  • sand;
  • humus.

To plant a future tree, we make a recess in the form of a hole in a prepared pot. Carefully place the sprout and cover it with earth to the top of the container. Pack tightly and water.

Fruiting nectarine from the stone

It should be understood that if the planting material is not properly selected, then the tree may bear fruit poorly or not produce a crop at all, so it is important to think in advance what kind of nectarine you want and plant a stone of this variety.

It is best to choose late-ripening, large-fruited varieties. If the seeds have given good sprouts and they will take root in open field, then the culture will begin to bear fruit already in the 3rd year of growth.

Yield and taste qualities fruits will depend not only on the variety, but also on which place for planting is chosen. A prerequisite for growing nectarines is a sufficient amount of light and moisture, otherwise the fruits will be sour and small.

Care

Care should be taken of the culture regularly, especially during the period of intensive growth and development. The most important is timely watering, which is carried out as the soil dries out or daily during the dry season. In winter, no moisture is required, abundant watering in late autumn and mulching of the soil is sufficient, which will help retain moisture longer than usual and provide the plant with it all winter.

If the nectarine is grown at home in a pot, then it will need sufficient lighting, which can be arranged by placing the tree on the windowsill on the south side. Pruning a plant that grows indoors, as well as in open ground conditions, should be carried out regularly. All vigorous shoots are pruned.

Every month, the tree requires organic top dressing. A special approach and certain knowledge of breeding requires the cultivation of fruit crops in a summer cottage.

Disease control

Most often, a nectarine tree is affected by fungal infections that can occur if the soil is not properly maintained or contaminated with fungal spores. Wrong care- this is waterlogging of the soil, improper fertilizing.

A common disease arising from fungal spores on nectarines is clasterosporiasis. The disease appears as brown spots on leaves and shoots. Over time, the spots dry out and turn into holes, which leads to their gradual death. Fruits on the affected branches are not tied.

The fight against clasterosporiosis includes a number of preventive actions:

  • getting rid of the affected areas;
  • do not allow dead leaves and fallen fruits to lie on the soil for a long time, otherwise the infection will spread in the upper soil layer;
  • the soil around the trunk should be constantly loosened to prevent the spread of fungal spores and moisture stagnation;
  • treat the leaves with a 1% solution of copper sulfate in a proportion of 10 g per 1 liter of water;
  • the damage caused by the infection is cleaned and rubbed with fresh sorrel.

Conclusion

Growing nectarines at home from seed should be carried out according to the rules so that the tree can better take root at home in a pot or in open ground. To begin with, suitable planting material is selected, which must undergo processing and the hardening process, and then the germinated sprouts are planted in the soil. Make a small trench in the ground and sprout the seeds in the open field. This can be done in summer or autumn.
