Turpentine baths at home, they are taken to improve health, remove toxins from the body. The result will be an increase in overall defensive forces organism.

Turpentine baths were first used in his medical practice by the famous doctor Abram Solomonovich Zalmanov, the founder of the doctrine of balneology.

Turpentine baths are taken for weight loss. Turpentine accelerates the breakdown of fats, stimulates carbohydrate-fat metabolism, removes cholesterol.

Turpentine baths help in the treatment of many diseases. But before taking them, you should definitely consult a doctor, because the human body can react to turpentine baths in different ways.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN FROM THIS ARTICLE:

What is turpentine. Medicinal properties.

Turpentine is obtained from resin, a thick resinous mass, which is found in abundance in junipers, spruces and pines. Everyone who has been in a pine forest has seen this cured resin. The pleasant smell of pine trees is precisely due to the essential oils of resin.

Resin is a medicine for the tree itself. It protects the wood from all sorts of bugs, fungi, heals wounds on the plant. It is important for you and me that gum turpentine is, in fact, essential oil which is obtained from coniferous plants. Everyone is well aware that any have excellent antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

A.S. Zalmanov suggested using turpentine baths for spa treatment. In his opinion, their therapeutic effect is explained by an increase in microcirculation in the capillary network of absolutely all organs and systems of our body.

What is a capillary network? That's what it is! You look at yourself in the mirror and see your reflection. The skin is pale. But as soon as you mentally remember some episode from your life, when you were extremely ashamed! Well, just terribly ashamed! And you will blush with SHAME! At the level of physiology, this means that a lot of capillaries in the face area have reflexively opened. Powerful blood flow, you are already sweating! It's all vegetative, nerves! This is how shame is reflected on the face.

But back to the topic. Taking turpentine baths, you will have a widespread expansion of the capillary network. Increased blood flow to all organs. The main thing is to the diseased organ! As a result, the affected organ will receive better nutrition, oxygen, vitamins, useful biologically active substances. Get ready for self-healing.

The metabolism and removal of waste products will increase, not needed by the body slag! By the way, this is the most powerful tool in the fight against excess weight! Take note, dear women. And after the New Year - all together we will go to the pharmacy for turpentine bath emulsion.

How to take turpentine baths

Pharmacies sell white, yellow and mixed turpentine emulsions:

white mortar

Consists of gum turpentine, as well as baby soap and salicylic acid. This emulsion has an irritating effect on the skin and you will feel a slight tingling sensation when taking a bath. The action of white turpentine is mainly antibacterial and wound healing. The skin after such a bath becomes velvety, soft. Salicylic acid helps better penetration turpentine into the deeper layers of the skin and organ tissue. And then healing happens. internal organs, joints, bones.

The only unpleasant moment is the increase in blood pressure when taking such baths. Therefore, they are contraindicated for hypertensive patients.

yellow solution

Contains gum turpentine, as well as castor oil and oleic acid. These baths have almost no irritating effect, but their effect is hyperthermic action. They cause profuse sweating, you lose a lot of fluid, with which toxins leave the body. You can lose weight immediately by 2 - 3 kg from such a bath.

Baths with yellow turpentine, on the contrary, lower the pressure. They are not contraindicated for hypertensive patients, but it is better for hypotensive patients to take baths with white turpentine.

Mixed baths

They work softer than taken separately.

Fill the tub halfway with water at 36 degrees. Prepare the turpentine emulsion in advance, as directed in the instructions. Mix it with some hot water and pour it into the bath. Mix well.

Lie on your back in the bath, do not lower your head into the water. Turn on hot water and lowering the thermometer into the water, bring the temperature of the water to 40 degrees. If someone gets too hot, set the temperature to what you feel comfortable with.

The yellow emulsion may cause perspiration on the face. This is normal. Do not stop the procedure. But if you don't feel well, then you should stop.

Usually baths are very well tolerated. But, perhaps, you have any contraindications for baths, which we will discuss below, but you did not take this into account. As a rule, people with vegetative-vascular dystonia can feel unwell. It is they who often do not tolerate stuffy rooms, saunas and Russian baths.

Take a bath for about 15 minutes. Then, without rinsing, get out, blot your body with a towel and lie down in bed under the covers.

If you took a bath with yellow turpentine and began to sweat a lot, add tea with raspberry jam to this process or brew raspberry leaves, tea with linden honey. You will lose a lot of fluid. Lie down for an hour or more and take a shower. But no soap and shampoo. Let a turpentine film remain on the skin.

Here is another note: spend the first baths with the minimum amount emulsions - 20 ml, which are diluted in 500 ml of hot water and evenly distributed along the entire length of the bath. For the first time, bring the initial bath temperature of 36 degrees to 38 and no more. Further, be guided by your own feelings, but remember - during the course of baths you should always have a comfortable feeling.

Slowly increase the amount of emulsion, which can be brought up to 120 ml, and increase the temperature to 40 degrees.

IN young age and good health take baths every day for a week. Then another one - two weeks every other day. Then stop at the baths 2 times a week. Next, make turpentine baths as needed.

Since 1904, and it was then that Dr. Alexander Zalmanov developed the rules for taking baths, scientists have not been able to find a worthy alternative to a safe and pleasant treatment that has a rather modest list of contraindications.

White and yellow turpentine baths

In the epidermis - the surface layer of the skin - there are many small vessels called capillaries. Their total area is about 6 thousand m 2 . Each of the vessels plays a significant role in the metabolism in the body, which means that pathological changes in them can cause a deterioration in a person's well-being.

Zalmanov's turpentine baths affect the conductivity of capillaries, contribute to the saturation of tissues with oxygen and nutrients help to eliminate toxins in a timely manner. As it was found in the course of research, the positive effect of turpentine on the body is through the expansion or contraction of the walls of blood vessels.

Dr. Zalmanov developed 3 types therapeutic baths based on turpentine: white, yellow and mixed. For whites turpentine baths the indications are as follows:

  • consequences of cerebral palsy and poliomyelitis, accompanied by a decrease in pressure and tachycardia;
  • arthritis (especially deforming) against the background of hypotension;
  • ankylosing spondylitis;
  • angina pectoris;
  • neuritis and sciatica;
  • post-traumatic ankylosis and soft tissue wounds.

The composition of the emulsion for the preparation of white baths includes: 45% gum turpentine, 50% water, salicylic acid, camphor alcohol, willow bark extracts, baby soap. The therapeutic mixture contributes to the active expansion of capillaries, causing an increase in blood pressure. Therefore, baths based on a white emulsion are recommended for hypotension and conditions where the pressure does not exceed 150 mm Hg. Art.

Yellow turpentine baths include: 50% basic substance, 20% castor oil, 15% oleic acid, more than 13% water and sodium hydroxide. Due to the good salt-dissolving properties of the components, the procedures have the following effects:

  • help lower blood pressure;
  • increase the functionality of the respiratory system;
  • lead to the dissolution of deposits in the joints, ligaments, on the stacks of blood vessels and in the lenses of the eyes;
  • increase body temperature and sweating, due to which excess sodium chloride and urea are excreted from the body.
  • local and general diseases of the cardiovascular system (thrombophlebitis, endarteritis, angina pectoris, etc.);
  • polyneuritis and neuritis;
  • sciatica;
  • radiculitis;
  • deforming arthrosis, osteochondrosis, etc. against the background of high blood pressure;
  • hypertension.

Mixed baths with turpentine

The composition of the emulsions includes components of both white and yellow baths. That is, they are able to regulate the pressure of a person depending on his condition. Using this species procedures, the patient can increase or decrease the performance to the most favorable level.

Despite the fact that mixed baths have an effect inherent in both yellow and white emulsions, they are characterized by the presence of additional properties, which are as follows:

  • increased blood flow, as a result of which enters the capillaries large quantity amino acids;
  • an increase in histamine in the blood;
  • strong bactericidal and analgesic effect;
  • normalization of the function of the immune system.

This resin is colloquially respectfully called resin, since this natural resinous product has been used by traditional healers for the treatment of many diseases since ancient times. The resin is called the sap of the tree, its blood.

Depending on the type of tree, the medicinal properties of resin differ, but all resins have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities. Gum was used to treat diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and was used to accelerate the healing of open wounds. The light fraction is turpentine, the heavy fraction is rosin.

Turpentine is used in industry as a solvent, and in medicine as medicine. This colorless, burning, transparent liquid has a characteristic odor and retains all the beneficial properties of resin.

It is gum turpentine, extracted by steam distillation, that is used for baths: it does not contain dirty impurities, but there are a lot of useful substances.

Zalmanov believed that any rash on the skin, or, as we say today, a manifestation of an allergy, indicates that the body seeks by any means to get rid of poisons that destroy and gradually kill it. He considered clogged capillaries to be the cause of most diseases: blood circulation slows down because of this, metabolic processes are disturbed, toxins cannot leave the body and accumulate in cells - a person begins to get sick, and then prematurely ages and dies.

Zalmanov called his method capillary therapy, and soon turpentine baths became very popular as a means of treating many chronic diseases.

Gum turpentine should not be confused with technical turpentine, which is obtained using gasoline and is used in the paint and varnish industry.

What to remember when taking turpentine baths

Those who decide to try the healing power of turpentine baths should remember:

  • 2 times a week you need to follow a fruit and vegetable diet (on days that do not follow one after another); treatment leads to the dissolution and removal of metabolic waste, and the diet stimulates the functions of the excretory organs;
  • baths are best taken in the evening, before going to bed, at least 1.5 hours after eating; if, nevertheless, baths are taken during the day, then you need to be in bed for at least 2 hours after taking white baths, and about 3 hours after yellow ones;
  • 30 minutes before the procedure, you need to drink 20-25 drops of valerian tincture (or validol, if necessary);
  • do not raise the temperature of the water above 39 ° C in the treatment of white baths;
  • when treating with yellow baths, increase the water temperature slowly, from 36–37 ° C to 39–41 ° C and even up to 42–43 ° C; time spent in the yellow bath at most - 5 minutes (weak and elderly - 4 minutes);
  • if after bathing the burning sensation continues for more than 45 minutes, the dose should not be exceeded until the skin gets used;
  • when taking yellow baths, measure body temperature before and 5 minutes after the procedure; the greater the difference in temperature, the better the body reacts, the sooner the improvement will come;
  • during the course of treatment, it is very good to apply a hot heating pad to the liver area, at least once a day for 1 hour after eating;
  • monitor the daily amount of urine (for men 1500 ml, for women - 1200 ml);
  • in the process of taking baths, you can drink a diuretic, for example, bearberry, Essentuki No. 17, soda enemas are also useful (1.5 teaspoons of drinking soda per 1–1.5 liters of water at a temperature of 40 ° C, try to keep 10–15 minutes );
  • if the amount of urine decreases at a bath temperature of 42 °C, it is necessary to lower the temperature to 40 °C;
  • turpentine baths can be taken only when all skin diseases have been eliminated.

Younger and stronger ones can take baths for the first 4-5 days daily, the next 100 baths every other day, then 2 times a week.

Be sure to consult with your doctor and, if you have such an opportunity, contact a specialist who conducts naturotherapy according to Zalmanov (in many cities there are already special naturotherapy clinics).

And now for the baths themselves. For bathing, from 20 to 120 ml of solution is added to 170–200 liters of water. Quantity turpentine solution, depending on the disease, I will specify later.

Based on serious scientific research, it is safe to say that the unexplored powers of turpentine baths are a powerful preventive and therapeutic tool that has a truly healing effect on the human body.

As a spa treatment, such baths have long been used as an addition to the popular hot baths, complex water procedures stimulated blood flow and had a beneficial effect on capillaries. Skin nutrition was enhanced, and therefore a good rejuvenating effect was observed with a natural restoration of skin color and elasticity.

Turpentine oil actively acts on the nerve endings due to the substance pinene, which quickly penetrates the epidermis and causes a reflex reaction. In the thickness of the skin, the formation of carbon dioxide and histamine is observed, which opens the capillaries.

Over time, white turpentine was replaced by yellow, rich in caustic soda, oleic acid. Olein is an unsaturated acid, it softens the drying effect of turpentine, and sodium interacts with proteins and delivers nutrients to the deep layers of the skin, which are inaccessible to the active substances of creams or ointments.

High water temperature noticeably speeds up the process, so the effect of these cosmetic baths noticeable after two treatments.
