General Notes on Worshipfrom Fomina Week to Passover (from the liturgical instructions)

1) From the Week of St. Thomas to the passing of Easter, all church services and requirements are preceded by three times singing or reading the troparion "Christ is Risen from the Dead ..." (see also p. 5).

2) At the all-night vigil, "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (three times) is sung, according to tradition, instead of "Come, let us worship ..." and after "The blessing of the Lord on you ...", before the beginning of the six psalms (cf. p. 5).

3) At the Sunday all-night vigil, at the end of the stichera of Easter at the verse of Vespers, the troparion "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (once) is sung: it enters the last stichera, being its conclusion.

4) At the Liturgy "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (three times) is sung after "Blessed is the Kingdom ...".

  • Note. Usually, at the beginning of the All-Night Vigil and the Liturgy, the clergymen sing the troparion 2 times in full, and the third time - ending with the words: "... trampling death with death," and the singers end: "And giving those who are in the tombs a belly." In some churches the troparion "Christ is Risen ..." (once) is sung by the clergy, and then (once) both choirs repeat it. Before the six psalms, “Christ is Risen…” is usually sung by the choir all three times.

5) "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (three times) is read at the beginning of the hours, Vespers, Compline, Midnight Office and Matins: at the 3rd, 9th hours, Compline and Midnight Office - instead of "Heavenly King ...", and at 1- m, 6 o'clock and Vespers (if immediately before its beginning the 9th hour is read), according to tradition, instead of "Come, let us worship ...".

6) At the Liturgy, "Christ is risen from the dead ..." is sung (once) instead of "Videch, the True Light ...". Input: “Come, let us worship… risen from the dead…”.

7) At the end of the Liturgy, on the exclamation: "Glory to Thee, Christ God, our Hope, glory to Thee," the singers sing: "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (three times). At all other services, after the exclamation: "Glory to Thee, Christ God, our Hope, glory to Thee," the end is according to custom. The dismissal at all services begins with the words: "Risen from the dead ...".

8) On Sunday, after the dismissal of the Liturgy, according to the ancient custom, the priest overshadows the people with the Cross three times and proclaims: “Christ is Risen!”, As in the days of Bright Week. The singers sing the concluding "Christ is risen from the dead ..." (three times), "And we are given an eternal life, we worship His three-day Resurrection" (once). There is no overshadowing of the Holy Cross on weekdays.

9) Troparion "Christ is risen from the dead ..." is also sung at the beginning of prayers, requiems, baptism, funeral service and other services.

10) "To the Heavenly King ..." is not read or sung until the day of the Holy Trinity.

11) The services of the happened saints on all Sundays of Holy Pentecost (except the Great Martyr George, Apostle John the Theologian, St. Nicholas, Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Constantine and Helena, temple and polyeleos feasts) are not combined with the Sunday service, but are performed at Compline together with canon of the Theotokos from Octoichus and the triodes of the Color Triodi (included in the appendix of the Triodi).

12) "Having seen the Resurrection of Christ ..." is sung three times at Sunday matins, and on other days at matins, before the 50th psalm, once.

13) The canon of Easter is sung on Sunday morning in the Week of Myrrh-Bearing Women, the paralytic, about the Samaritans and about the blind, with all the troparions and the Theotokos, without the final "Christ is risen from the dead ..." for each song and without refrains on the 9th canon. On weekdays (at everyday services), the canon of Easter is not supposed to be sung. On the Week of Antipaskhi and on holidays, with great praise, it is supposed to sing on the katavasia of the irmos of Easter (except for Prepolovenie and its giving).

14) In all Weeks (ie, Sundays) before Easter is passed, the "Most Honest" is not sung on Sunday Matins. The censing of the temple on the 9th canon is performed.

15) Exapostilarius "Sleeping flesh ..." is sung on Sunday morning in the Week, when the canon of Easter is due.

16) At the 1st hour, on all days from Fomina's Week to Ascension, it is customary to sing the Easter kontakion instead of the "Climbed Voevoda ...", the 8th voice: "Ashe and into the grave ...".

17) At the Liturgy, on all days before the Ascension, except for the Feast of Prepolovedeniye and its giving, the recipient is sung: "The angel is crying ..." and "Shining, shining ..."

18) Communion of Easter "Receive the Body of Christ ..." is sung all the days before Passover, except for the week of St. Thomas and Prepolove with afterfeast.

19) Bows to the ground until the day of the Holy Trinity are canceled by the Rite.

In the follow-up to Monday of the 2nd week, the beginning of Matins is shown as follows: "Glory to the Saints, and Consubstantial ...", "Christ is Risen ..." (three times). And "abiye" (immediately) according to "Christ is risen ..." - "Glory to God in the highest" and the usual six psalms. At the same time, it was noted that such a beginning of Matins should be "even before Ascension."

See: V. Rozanov, Liturgical Charter of the Orthodox Church. P. 676. There is an opinion that "Christ is Risen ..." at the beginning of the 1st hour is read only if the morning was dismissal; after the daily Matins, the 1st hour, according to this point of view, as an attached service, begins immediately with "Come, let us bow ..." (see: Michael, Hierom. Liturgy: Course of Lectures. M., 2001. S. 196).

Easter Hours - part of the Easter Day Divine Service (including Matins, Easter Hours, Liturgy and Vespers).
Read on Easter week (until Saturday morning inclusive) instead of morning and evening prayers (prayer rule).

Troparion:
Christ is risen from the dead, having trampled death upon death, and to those who live in the tombs He has given a gift. (Three times)

Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus, the One Sinless One. We worship Thy Cross, Christ, and Thy holy Resurrection we sing and praise. Thou art our God, don’t we know otherwise, we call your name. Come in all faith, let us worship the holy Christ Resurrection: behold, joy to the whole world comes through the Cross. Always blessing the Lord, let us accept His Resurrection: having endured the crucifixion, destroy death by death. (three times)

Ipakoi:
Before the morning, even about Mary, and the founding stone was rolled away from the grave, I hear from the Angel: in the light of the everlasting Susha, with the dead, why are you looking for a man? You see the grave shroud, preach and preach to the world, as the Lord has risen, who has killed death, as the Son of God who saves the human race.

Kontakion:
Even if thou hast descended into the grave, Bezsmertne, but thou hast destroyed the power of hell, and thou art raised as the Conqueror, Christ God, to the myrrh-bearing wives: Rejoice!

In the grave you are flat, in hell with a soul like God, in paradise with a robber, and on the Throne you were, Christ, with the Father and the Spirit, do everything, undescribed.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit:
Like the Life-bearer, like the most reddened paradise, verily and the devil of every king's most radiant, Christ, Thy tomb, the source of our Resurrection.

And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen:
Highly illuminated Divine village, rejoice: Thou hast given joy to the Mother of God, calling: blessed are You in your wives, the All-Immaculate Lady.

Lord have mercy. (forty times)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen:

The most honest Cherubim and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, we magnify Thee.

Christ is resurrected from the dead, trampling upon death by death, and to those who live in the graves he has given life. (three times)

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Amen.

Easter clock in modern Russian

Christ rose from the dead, trampling death upon death, and giving life to those in the tombs. (3)

Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the Holy Lord Jesus, the only sinless one. We worship Thy Cross, Christ, and we sing and praise Thy Holy Resurrection, for Thou art our God, we do not know otherwise, we call on Thy name. Come, all faithful, let us worship Christ's holy resurrection, for behold, joy has come through the Cross to the whole world. Always blessing the Lord, we sing of His resurrection, for He endured crucifixion and crushed death with death. (3)

The wives who came with Mary before dawn and found the stone rolled away from the tomb heard from the Angel: "In the eternal light of the One who abides, what do you seek among the dead as a man? Look at the burial shroud, run and proclaim to the world that the Lord has risen, having killed death, for He - Son of God saving the human race! "

Although Thou didst descend into the grave, Immortal One, you destroyed the power of hell and rose again as a conqueror, Christ God, exclaiming to the women-bearers: "Rejoice!" and giving peace to your apostles, you who give resurrection to the fallen.

In the grave with flesh, and in hell with a soul like God, in paradise with the robber and on the throne you were, Christ, with the Father and the Spirit, filling everything, infinite.

Glory: Your tomb, Christ, the source of our resurrection, was the bearer of life, truly the most beautiful paradise, and of every royal palace.

And now, the Theotokos: Divine consecrated Tabernacle of the Most High, rejoice! For through Thee, Mother of God, joy is given to those who cry: "Blessed are you among women, all-blameless Lady!"

Lord have mercy (40),

Glory, and now: With the highest honor of the Cherubim and the incomparably most glorious of the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word, the true Mother of God - we magnify Thee.

Christ rose from the dead, trampling death upon death, and giving life to those in the tombs. (3)

The temple is already ukrushen and ready for service, but everyone needs to get out of it. And the doors must be closed... Now in our minds the temple is the Life-Giving Tomb of the Savior. And we ourselves go to him, as once the myrrh-bearing wives.

The world is based on the week. The number six indicates the created world, and the number seven reminds that the created is covered with blessing. Here is the key to understanding the Sabbath celebration. On the seventh day, i.e. on Saturday, God blessed what He had created, and, resting on Saturday from daily affairs, a person had to reflect on the works of the Creator, praise Him for arranging everything wonderfully. On Saturday, a person was not supposed to show power

Without faith in the Risen Christ, there is no Christianity. That is why all opponents of our faith are persistently trying to shake the truth of the Resurrection.

The first objection: Christ did not die on the cross: He only fell into a deep swoon, from which he later woke up in a cave, got up from His bed, rolled a huge stone from the door of the tomb and left the cave ... To this ...

From the day of Holy Easter to the Feast of the Ascension (40th day), the Orthodox greet each other with the words: "Christ is Risen!" and answer "Truly He is Risen!"

EASTER HOURS

ABOUT PARTICIPATION

BRIGHT WEEK

All Bright Week are the brightest days of the church year, when the Divine Liturgy is served every day with the Royal Doors open. And only in this week (week), after each after each Divine Liturgy, a procession with the cross with an icon, Banners, Artos is performed.

One-day fasts are canceled on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The tradition of celebrating Easter for forty days was established in memory of the stay of Jesus Christ on earth after his Resurrection . The time from the bright Day of Christ to the Ascension, which completes the earthly incarnation of the Savior, is a very special period in the liturgical cycle of the Orthodox Church and in the everyday life of Christians. Rituals, images, symbolic rites of the temple service are filled with new content, revealing to the laity the endless distances of spiritual perfection. On these bright days, instead of a prayer for the forgiveness of sins, words are heard about the triumph of the Savior over death.

The entire period from the Resurrection of Christ to the Ascension of the divine services are held according to special rules specified in the Triodi - the church book of three-song canons. The list of certain texts included in the prayer book, or prayer rule, in Easter week prescribes to read the hours of Easter instead of morning, evening prayers, Compline and Midnight Office.

Other features of prayer and services for the first Easter week.

  1. Those preparing for communion instead of the canons of repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Theotokos, read the canon of Easter, Follow-up to Holy Communion.
  2. Three times reading of the troparion of Easter precedes all prayers, including thanksgiving for communion, while the psalter is not read.
  3. One should not bow down to the ground either in the church, or during home prayer (this rule persists until the Trinity).

The reading resumes on Monday of the second week:

  • regular morning and evening prayers;
  • canons to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, Guardian Angel;
  • followings to holy communion.

Until the Ascension, they continue to read the Easter troparion three times instead of praying to the Holy Spirit, the refrain and irmos of the ninth canon of the Easter canon ("The angel cries out") - instead of "It is worthy." According to the recollections, all weeks before the onset of the Ascension refer to the glorification of the risen Christ, who sent down the Holy Spirit to the apostles and followers.

Morning prayer rule

The advent of the bright Day of Christ, changing the way of life of the Orthodox layperson, makes differences in the usual daily private, or home, worship. Ordinary prayers, containing praise, thanksgiving, repentance and petition, are modified to express the deepest reverence for the holy feast and your understanding of the biblical events that followed the Resurrection of Christ.

In Orthodoxy, the prayer basis of the hours (a short divine service established by church canons) is made up of psalms, as well as the troparia and kontakia (hymns that reveal the meaning of the holiday) corresponding to the current day.

When the hours are traditionally performed

The Easter morning rule (the hours separating Easter Matins from the Liturgy) is not read as usual, but sung. In this case, not psalms are taken as a basis, but festive chants: three times they sing "Christ is Risen," "Christ is Risen".

The morning rule from Easter to Ascension has distinctive features only during the light week. With the beginning of the second week after the Resurrection of Christ, the Orthodox return to fulfilling the usual morning prayer rule, which includes three texts: they read Our Father three times and the Virgin Mary, Rejoice, once - the Symbol of Faith.

Evening prayer rule

According to the Orthodox tradition, one should pray in private in the evening every day. The Holy Church recommends reading the most necessary doxologies for the coming night: "Our Father", kontakion to the Mother of God, prayers to the Guardian Angel, St. Macarius the Great to God the Father, St. Ioannikia.

The Easter evening prayer rule has its own characteristics: it is replaced by the hours of Easter to mark and highlight this most important period for believers. At the same time, the text and the sequence of reading are completely identical to the Easter morning rule. After the light week, the usual prayers are resumed at the end of the day.

However, one should pay attention to the following peculiarity: the evening rule from Easter to Ascension includes an appeal to the Holy Spirit, while the "Heavenly King" is replaced by the troparion "Christ is Risen", despite the fact that both prayers are addressed to the same hypostasis God. This is explained by the fact that any prayer rule is built on the experience of the church, which must be listened to: the holy fathers believe that prayer to the Holy Spirit as a free conversion of a person's soul to God has a more personal character, and the "King of Heaven" has always been the beginning of a general worship.

The celebration of the Bright Resurrection of the Lord continues, albeit with less solemnity, until the end of Easter - the divine service on the eve of the Ascension. On this day, Vespers and Matins are served in churches in full light, liturgy is held at the open royal gates, stichera, praise and greetings for the Easter rite sound, as well as hymns dedicated to the pre-celebration of the Ascension.

Traditionally, on the eve of Ascension, the last Easter procession in the cycle is held. This is how the forty-day period of the great holiday ends, in order to reveal to the world the symbol of eternal life again in a year.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfill everything, Treasure of the good and life to the Giver, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save our souls, Beloved.

From Easter to Ascension, instead of this prayer, the troparion is read:

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and giving life to those in the grave . (Three times)

From the Ascension to the Trinity, we begin the prayers with "Holy God ...", omitting all previous ones.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Three times)

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquity; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your name's sake.

Lord have mercy. (Three times)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Our Father, Who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also leave our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Tropari

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us; every answer is bewildering, this Ti prayer like the Lord of sin we bring: have mercy on us.

Lord, have mercy on us, in You with hope; Do not be angry with us, remember our iniquities below, but look after and now, as if he is gracious, and deliver us from our enemies; Thou art our God, and we are Thy people, all works Thy hand, and we call on Thy name.

And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Open the doors of mercy to us, blessed Mother of God, hoping in Thee, may we not perish, but may we get rid of Thy troubles: Thou art the salvation of the Christian race.

Lord have mercy. (12 times)

Prayer 1, Saint Macarius the Great, to God the Father

Eternal God and the King of every creature, vouching for me even at this hour of arrival, forgive my sins, I have also done this day in deed, word and thought, and cleanse, Lord, my humble soul from all defilement of flesh and spirit. And grant me, O Lord, in the night of this dream to pass in peace, so that I stand up from the humble bed, delight in Your holy name, all the days of my life, and I will overcome the fleshly and incorporeal enemies fighting me. And deliver me, O Lord, from vain thoughts that defile me, and the desires of the wicked. Thine is the kingdom, and the power and glory, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 2, Saint Antiochus, to our Lord Jesus Christ

To the Almighty, the Word of the Father, this Himself is perfect, Jesus Christ, many for the sake of Thy mercy, never absent from me, Thy servant, but always rest in me. Jesus, good Shepherd of Your sheep, do not betray me to sedition to the serpent, and do not leave the desire of Satan to me, for there is a seed of aphid in me. Thou, O Lord God worshiped, the Holy King, Jesus Christ, while sleeping, save me with an unflickering light, Thy Holy Spirit, Thou hast sanctified Thy disciples. May, O Lord, also grant me, an unworthy servant of Thy, Thy salvation on my bed: enlighten my mind with the light of the mind of Thy holy Gospel, my soul with the love of Thy Cross, my heart with Thy word's purity, my body with Thy passionless passion, save my thought with Thy humility, and raise up me at the time is like your praise. Like you were glorified with Thy beginningless Father and with the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

Prayer 3, to the Holy Spirit

Lord, Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, have mercy and have mercy on me, Thy sinful servant, and let me go to the unworthy, and forgive all, the tree of Ti who have sinned today like a man, even more and not like a man, but rather than cattle, my free sins and involuntary, knowledgeable and unknown: even from youth and science are evil, and even the essence of arrogance and despondency. If I swear by Thy name, or swindled in my thought; or someone reproached; or slander someone with my anger, or grieved, or about anything you were angry; or a lie, or useless spah, or a beggar came to me, and despise him; either they grieved my brother, or weddings, or whom they condemned; either puffed up, or puffed up, or got angry; or I stand in prayer, my mind has moved about the wickedness of this world, or the corruption of thoughts; or overeat, or overeat, or laughing madly; or evil thoughts, or seeing alien kindness, and with that he was wounded by his heart; or not like verbs, or laughing at my brother's sin, but my essence is countless sins; either they are not happy about prayer, or otherwise what evil things, I don’t remember, that’s all and great about these things. Have mercy on me, my Creator, Master, your despondent and unworthy servant, and leave me, and let me go, and forgive me, as it is Good and Humanitarian, so I will lie down in peace, sleep and rest, prodigal, sinful and accursed I, and worship and sing , and I will glorify Thy honorable name, with the Father, and His Only Begotten Son, now and forever and forever. Amen.

Prayer 4, Saint Macarius the Great

What will Ti bring, or what will Ti reward, great-endowed Immortal King, more generous and benevolent God, as if he is lazy to me for your pleasing, and having done nothing good, did you bring to the end of this past day, the conversion and salvation of my soul's order? Mercifully wake me to the sinner and naked of every good deed, raise up my fallen soul, defiled in immeasurable sins, and remove from me all the evil thought of this visible life. Forgive my sins, one Sinless, even worse than those who have sinned in this day, knowledge and ignorance, word and deed, and thought, and all my senses. You Yourself, covering, save me from any opposing situation with Your Divine power, and ineffable love of mankind, and strength. Cleanse, God, cleanse the multitude of my sins. Grace, Lord, to deliver me from the network of the evil one, and save my passionate soul, and overshadow me with the light of Thy face, when you come in glory, and now do not condemn to sleep in sleep, and without dreaming, and undisturbed the thought of Thy servant, observe, and all Satan's work take me away from me, and enlighten my reasonable eyes of the heart, so that I will not sleep into death. And send me an angel of peace, the guardian and instructor of my soul and my body, that he may deliver me from my enemies; Yes, leaving my bed, I will bring Ti thanksgiving prayers. To her, Lord, hear me as a sinful and wretched servant of Yours, with delight and conscience; Grant me to learn with Thy word, and the despondency of the demons, far from me, is driven away from being Thy Angels; may I bless Your holy name, and glorify, and glorify the Most Pure Theotokos Mary, You gave us sinful intercession, and accept this one who is praying for us; vem bo, as if it imitates Your philanthropy, and praying does not stop. With your intercession, and the Honorable Cross with a sign, and for all Your saints for the sake of, observe my wretched soul, Jesus Christ our God, like you are Holy, and glorified forever. Amen.

Prayer 5

O Lord our God, those who have sinned in the days of this word, deed and thought, forgive me as good and lover of mankind. Peaceful sleep and serene grant me. Send your guardian angel, covering and keeping me from all evil, as you are the keeper of our souls and our bodies, and we glorify Thee, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and forever. Amen.

Prayer 6

O Lord our God, in Worthless faith, and His name more than any name we call, grant to us, departing to sleep, weakened soul and body, and keep us from all dreams, and besides dark sweets; abate the striving of passions, quench the incitement of the uprising of the bodily. May we live chastely in deeds and words; Yes, a virtuous life is receptive, the promised will not fall away from Your good, for you are blessed forever. Amen.

Prayer 8, to our Lord Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for the sake of thy most honest Mother, and Thy incorporeal Angel, the Prophet and Forerunner and Thy Baptist, the God-speaking apostle, the bright and good-victorious martyr, the reverend and God-bearing father, and all the saints by prayers, save me the demon of the real thing. To her, my Lord and Creator, not even though the death of a sinner, but as if to turn and live to be him, give me a conversion to the accursed and unworthy; Take me out of the mouth of the pernicious serpent, which is gaping to devour me and bring me to hell alive. To her, my Lord, my consolation, For the sake of the accursed one, she was clothed in corruptible flesh, pull me out of accursedness, and give me comfort with accursed flesh. Put in my heart to do Your commands, and abandon the crafty deeds, and receive Your blessedness: in You, Lord, hope, save me.

Prayer 9, to the Most Holy Theotokos, Peter of Studios

To Thee of the Most Holy Mother of God, I accursed accusations, I pray: weigh, Tsarina, as if I sin without ceasing and anger Thy Son and my God, and if I repent many times, I find myself lying before God, and I repent trembling: will the Lord really smite me, and by the hour I pack melt ; Lead this, my Lady the Lady of the Theotokos, I pray, have mercy, and strengthen, and do good, and grant me. Vesi bo, my Lady Theotokos, as by no means an imam in my evil deeds in hatred, and with all my thoughts I love the law of my God; But we do not know, the Most Pure Lady, where I hate, I love that, but I transgress good. Do not allow, Most Pure, my will to be done, it is not pleasing to eat, but let the will of Thy Son and my God be done: may it save me, and give me understanding, and give the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that from now on the foul act would cease, and so on would have lived in command Thy Son, all glory, honor and power befitting Him, with His Beginning Father, and His Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 10, to the Most Holy Theotokos

Prayer 11, to the Holy Guardian Angel

To the Angel of Christ, my saint guardian and protector of my soul and body, all forgive me, the tree of those who have sinned in this day, and save me from all cunning of the enemy, so that I will anger my God in no way; but pray for me a sinful and unworthy servant, as if you are worthy of me showing the goodness and mercy of the All-Holy Trinity and the Mother of my Lord Jesus Christ and all the saints. Amen.

Prayer of Saint John

My hope is the Father, my refuge Son, my cover is the Holy Spirit: Holy Trinity, glory to Thee.

It is worthy to eat as truly blessed Thee, Mother of God, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. The most honest Cherubim and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, we magnify the Mother of God.

From Easter to Ascension, instead of this prayer, the chorus and irmos of the 9th canon of the Easter canon are read:

An angel cries out more gracefully: Pure Virgin, rejoice! And pack the river: rejoice! Thy Son is risen three days from the grave and raised up dead; people, have fun! Shine, shine, the new Jerusalem, the glory of the Lord ascends upon you. Rejoice now and be merry, Zion. You, Pure, flaunt, Mother of God, about the rise of Your Christmas .

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Lord have mercy. (Three times)

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Thy Most Pure Mother, venerable and God-bearing father of ours and all saints, have mercy on us. Amen.

Prayer of Saint John Damascene

Vladyka Human-loving, will this coffin be a bed for me, or will you enlighten my cursed soul in the afternoon? Seven coffin lies ahead, seven death lies ahead. I am afraid of Thy judgment, Lord, and endless torment, but I do not cease doing evil: I always anger the Lord my God, and Thy Most Pure Mother, and all Heavenly powers, and my holy Guardian Angel. We, O Lord, as I am not worthy of Thy humanity, but I am worthy of all condemnation and torment. But, Lord, either I want, or I don’t want, save me. If you save the righteous, nothing great; and if you have mercy purely, it is nothing wondrous: deserve the essence of your mercy. But amaze Thy mercy on me as a sinner: about this, reveal Thy love of mankind, may my malice not prevail over Thy ineffable goodness and mercy: and as you like, arrange a thing about me.

Enlighten my eyes, Christ God, but not when I fall asleep into death, and not when my enemy says: Strengthen yourself against him.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Wake up the protector of my soul, O God, as in the midst of many nets I walk; deliver me from them and save me, Blazhe, like a Humanitarian.

And now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

The Most Glorious Mother of God, and the Most Holy Angel of the saints, let us sing with our hearts and lips, confessing this Mother of God, as if she truly gave birth to God for us incarnate, and praying incessantly for our souls.

Sign yourself with the sign of the cross.

Prayer to the Honest Cross

May God rise again, and scatter him, and let those who hate him flee from his presence. Yako smoke disappears, yes disappear; as if wax melts from the face of fire, so let demons perish from the face of those who love God and who are marked by the sign of the cross, and in joy say: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, drive away demons by the power of the prophesied Lord Jesus Christ on you, who descended into hell and corrected the power to the devil, and who gave us to you His Honest Cross to drive out every adversary. Oh, Most Honorable and Life-giving Cross of the Lord! Help me with the Holy Lady the Virgin Mary and with all the saints forever. Amen.

Or briefly:

Protect me, Lord, by the power of the Honest and Life-giving Your Cross, and save me from all evil.

Prayer

Weaken, leave, forgive, God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word and in deed, even in knowledge and not in knowledge, even in days and nights, even in mind and in thought: forgive us all, as it is Good and Humanitarian.

Prayer

Forgive those who hate and offend us, Lord, Human-loving. Beneficent to do good. Grant to our brethren and relatives also petitions and eternal life for salvation. Visit the weak in existence and grant healing. Along the way, manage it. Travel travelers. Help Orthodox Christians. Grant forgiveness to those who serve and have mercy on us. Those who have commanded us unworthy to pray for them have mercy according to your great mercy. Remember, O Lord, the father and our brethren before the departed, and rest them, where the light of Thy face is present. Remember, Lord, our captive brethren and spare me from every situation. Remember, O Lord, those who bear fruit and do good in Your holy churches, and give them petition and eternal life for salvation. Remember, Lord, and us, the humble and sinful and unworthy of Thy servant, and enlighten our mind with the light of Thy mind, and guide us on the path of Thy commandments, with the prayers of our Most Pure Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and all Thy saints: as you are blessed forever and ever ... Amen.

Confession of sins everyday

I confess to Thee to the Lord my God and Creator, in the One Holy Trinity, glorified and worshiped, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, all my sins, the same in all the days of my life, and for every hour, both now and in the days gone by and nights, deed, word, thought, gluttony, drunkenness, secret eating, idle talk, despondency, laziness, disobedience, disobedience, slander, condemnation, negligence, pride, many acquisitions, embezzlement, untruthfulness, profanity, jealousy, jealousy , hatred, covetousness and all my feelings: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and other my sins, both soulful and bodily, the image of my God and Creator to anger, and my neighbor's unjust: regretting about these, I am guilty of myself to my God I imagine, and I have the will to repent: to that, O Lord my God, help me, with tears I humbly pray to Thee: whoever passed away my sins with Thy mercy, forgive me, and permit me from all these, even the words before You, as Good and Humanitarian.

When you go to sleep, say:

In Thy hand, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, I commit my spirit: You bless me, You have mercy on me and give me an eternal belly. Amen.
