Boy development at 7 to 8 months. A sharp leap in child development: what a baby should be able to do at seven months

Thanks to physical activity, the world for a child has become much wider and more diverse, nevertheless, his development does not stop there and very soon, even parents will not catch up with their curious child.

Developing color perception

If the baby does not crawl, diversify his life in the crib with toys, this can be a carousel over the crib or rattles on a string. In addition, such a toy can be made with your own hands - take thick cardboard and draw or paste bright pictures on it, such a toy will distract the baby for more than 5-10 minutes and will contribute to the perception of shades.

Establishing social contact

Hide your face behind the diaper, if the baby takes it off, cover the diaper again. Do this until the child speaks to you with a voice. The kid will quickly understand the essence of the game, and will deliberately yell at his mother so that she seems to him. The purpose of this game is to help the child to make conscious contact through communication, even if in their own language.

A similar game can be carried out with a toy that the baby is playing with. Take the object from the child and wait for the moment when he asks for her to return. Return the item with words of praise.

Getting to know the forbidden things

Place toys in front of your baby, including scissors, a needle, a button and a package of medicine. When the child reaches for a prohibited object, say with a voice and movement of your head - "no, you can not." When the child reaches for the toy, say yes you can by nodding your head. A head nod should be accompanied by a smile, and a negative response should be accompanied by a stern look. Thus, the child will learn to distinguish and understand the parental "not allowed and allowed" even before meeting with dangerous objects.

Increasing vocabulary

Pay attention to the child's favorite toy and start the exercise with it. Show the baby the toy and say its name, for example, "this is a bear." Repeat the name of the toy several times, then place it in front of the child among other toys and say: "where is the bear?" The kid will pull the handle towards the bear or show you with a glance where the toy is. So, the game can be performed every day with different objects in different rooms of the house. Gradually, the child will pronounce the words learned in this way consciously and more often.

Meet other people

From this age, the child can be left for 5-10 minutes with close relatives whom he has seen before. At the same time, he must understand that the parents are in another room. So that he does not get scared, let him know about your presence by voice. Contact with other people gives a valuable experience of communication and the understanding that people communicate with him in different ways.

How to develop a baby at 7 - 8 months - motor skills

The child learns to evaluate the size and shape of an object, and then adjust the hand grip to pick up the object. This skill develops from the very birth, but now, it is becoming more noticeable. From this age, he learns to catch large objects from a short distance, and then smaller objects. In addition, the children really like to play "Cinderella" - sorting peas and beans with their mother.

Spatial thinking

Offer several types of logic toys, sorter, children's "fishing" and wooden puzzles-inserts. For the development of the eye-hand, drawing with your fingers using paints or on the sand is well suited.

We encourage self-service

The development of a child at 7-8 months should also include self-care skills, encourage the baby's desire to do something on their own. For example, at this age, he can hold a bottle himself and drink from it, hold a spoon, put toys in place.

Develop imagination

To do this, we will go to the bathroom, where we will not just swim, but build whole castles from gentle foam and draw drawings with our finger. Do not forget to prepare bath toys - a duck, a boat, a small bucket.

Physical activity

These games are suitable for children who are crawling. If the child has not yet mastered this skill, do not worry, some babies miss it and immediately stand on their feet.

1. Play catch-up with your child, it is great for raising the mood, developing the muscles of the body and has a positive effect on social development.

2. Use a small board that will be raised at an angle of about 15-20 degrees, and place pillows in front of the "break" of the board to prevent the child from getting hurt. Climbing the board can be compared to conquering a mountain peak, if the kid succeeds.

3. Organize an obstacle course on the way to the desired toy. Place chairs and pillows on the way to the object so that the baby's body and spine will move in different directions, which forms a healthy spinal curve and the ability to manipulate his own body.

How to strengthen the muscles of a child if he is not crawling:

1. Give your child as much free space as possible.

2. Give a massage or ask your doctor to prescribe a course of firming massage.

3. Visit the swimming pool designed for children under one year old.

Child 7 months: features of development, games and exercises

The first direction. The physical development of the child at 7 months.

What a seven-month-old baby can do by the end of this month:

Crawls quickly in all directions. Crawls up the steps to a low children's slide.
Learns to sit down independently.
Can change the position of the body from a sitting position - for example, after sitting, lie on his tummy.
Learns to stand at the support, holding onto the railing of the crib or leaning on the seat of an armchair, chair, sofa. If the child manages to stand at the support, then he can stand there for 1-1.5 minutes. Then he sits down - kneels down, bends the other leg and, leaning on, gets on all fours or sits down.
He learns, holding on to the support, to make a side step (one or two steps).

What physical exercises are good for your baby?

At the age of 7 months, squatting is very beneficial for the development of abdominal muscles and the formation of the ability to sit down.
When the child learns to sit down, he turns his head towards the toy from a lying position on his side, after which he sits down, leaning on his hand.

Sitting down.

Exercise 1. Sitting down. The kid is lying on his back. Take his hands. Slightly pulling up the arms bent at the elbows, encourage the child to sit down. Repeat 2-3 times.
Exercise 2. Sitting down with one hand support. The child lies on his back. Secure his knees with one hand, and with the other hold the handle set aside. Gently pull the child by the hand and say: "Sit down, Sasha!" Repeat 2 times. Once for the right handle, the second for the left handle.
It is good if you interest the kid with the toy in this exercise.
At first, the child will not sit for long, but then he will master this movement, which is new for him.
You cannot force a child to sit down, here you need to "follow him" and act taking into account his capabilities at a given moment in time.

A game for the development of crawling for a child of 7 months.

Place sounding toys in different places in the room, cover them so that they are not visible with napkins. Start sounding with a single toy - for example, swing a bell. But don't show the toy. The kid will become interested, and he will crawl to the toy and look under the napkin. Then let your child play with this toy. Show how you can grip the object with the handle (how you can grip from the top, side, bottom, etc.).
Then repeat the game with another sounding object. At the end of his crawling path, the kid should be waiting for something interesting for him, hidden under a napkin.

Second direction. Social and emotional development of a child at 7 months.

What you need to know about the emotional development of a child at 7 months?

By the end of the month, i.e. by eight months, the child will have emotional attachment to a particular adult. This is usually a mom or other adult who is taking care of the baby. This attachment is very necessary for the child, therefore it is very undesirable to break it, to send the child to a nursery or hand it over to a nanny. Affection means that a toddler can have a favorite adult, and that's okay!

Attachment to the mother will be formed only if the mother acts as an interesting partner in the game for the child, if she supports his initiative.

It is very important that adults, while praising the baby, emphasize what they are praising for, for what specific actions: “This is how well Anya opens her mouth!”, “Clever girl! I put all the balls in the box! " A general positive assessment or affection is no longer enough, the baby is drawn to business communication with an adult. It is important for him that his mother expresses pleasure in his concrete actions, supports his actions in the world around him, and not just caresses him. Although the weasel, of course, is not canceled! But it just becomes too little for the baby! He needs to go further in his development - to business cooperation with his mother in an interesting game for him!

Always praise the kid, tell him that he is “smart”, “beloved”, “well done”, “good”. With these words and your emotional attitude and support, you will create an atmosphere of joyful business cooperation that a child of 7 months and older needs.

What a baby can do at 7 months by the end of this month:

Reacts to the mood of adults, reacts to it. Have fun if they are hilarious.
Interested in other children - watching, laughing or babbling.
He actively plays nursery rhymes: "Ladushki", "Crow", "Hide and Seek", "Ku-ku" and others.
Shows sensitivity to adult praise. Seeks adult attention with a smile or a whimper.
Displays affection for close adults, can distinguish the most beloved among all adults.

Third direction. Cognitive and speech development of a child at 7 months.

1. Sensory development.

At the age of 7 months, business communication with the mother is very important for the child. He no longer just lacks affection and attention, he needs a mother who will be a partner in the study of the world around him, who will show new ways of acting with objects, who will acquaint him with the world around him.

What a child can do:

Recognizes objects from different distances and shown from different angles.
Seeks to examine objects in all ways.
Works with many items, and not with one or two as it was before. Can transfer objects from hand to hand. In games with objects, both hands are involved.
Learns "direct and reverse actions". For example, folds and unfolds, puts rings on a bar and removes them. In these active actions, the child's idea of himself as an active, acting person is formed!
Acts with toys depending on their properties: rolls balls, puts cubes on top of each other or knocks them against each other, puts toys out of a bucket and puts them back, opens the lids of boxes, pushes, squeezes, pushes, shakes, knocks, turns over and so on Further.
He takes objects in different ways: he takes large objects with his whole palm, and small ones with a pinch.
Can work with an interesting toy for 3-6 minutes, and together with an adult for up to 8-10 minutes.

2. Development of speech.

What a seven-month-old baby can do by the end of this month:

At seven months, a child can actively perform movements in various nursery rhymes - magpie-crow, okay, hide and seek, goat. He can perform the necessary learned movements by word. That is, as soon as the child hears the familiar words of the nursery rhyme performed by the mother, he immediately begins to do the action.
The kid knows how to perform actions at the request of an adult: give, drink, etc.

The kid babbles actively, repeating different syllables. She repeats syllables loudly, clearly. Babbling is very active when the child is interested in something.

Plays roll calls with her mother, repeating syllables after her. And mom repeats his syllables after the baby. This is how the speech apparatus develops and trains.

To the question "Where ...?" points with a finger at the desired object. At an earlier age, in response to this question, the baby pointed to an object placed in a permanent place. And now he can point with his finger at an object that has been rearranged to another place.

A child can find an object among other two or three familiar objects - in response to the question "Where ...?" he looks in the right direction. The question "Where ...?" must be asked several times, giving a pause of 5 seconds.

Hearing his name, the child turns to you, crawls towards you.

How to conduct a developmental speech lesson-roll call with a child of 7 months?

In order for roll calls to really develop the baby's speech, you need to know what syllables and sounds your child is already speaking. It is from this "speech base" of the baby that speech lessons begin - roll calls.

During roll calls, the child should see the mother's face, listen to her, and monitor articulation. And for this you need to think over the place of the roll call so that it is convenient for the baby to look at you, so that a harsh light does not hit his eyes.

What should be the structure of a roll call with a child of 7 months

Below I give the structure of the roll call, developed by L. N. Pavlova, Ph.D. in Psychology, the authors of many books and manuals on the development of young children. It is advisable to conduct such mini-classes daily so that the child successfully forms preparatory speech skills.
Introductory part. Lean over your baby to focus on your face. Stroke him, call him by name, holding out the vowels of the baby's name: "AAaaaaanechka!" and pronouncing the name with different intonation: “Aaaanchka? AAaaanechka! " Then pause for 15-20 seconds.

Part 1. "Roll call". You pronounce the sounds and syllables that your baby is already speaking. Then pause for 15-20 seconds. If the baby responded - repeated after you, repeat the sounds again after him.
Part 2. "Sounded Toy". Show a sounding toy, sound it. Let your baby focus on sound. Then pause for 15-20 seconds.
Part 3. Re-display of the toy. Show playful action with a toy, onomatopoeia. Name the toy.
Part 4. Repetition of the first part.
Part 5. In conclusion Sing a song or tell a rhyme about the toy shown.

Is it useful to listen to fairy tales for little ones with a child of 7 months?

With a child of 7 months, you can already listen to audio recordings of fairy tales, but in a special way. If you just put an audio recording for the baby and leave the room, then you will not get any developmental result. Speech just sounding nearby does not affect the development of the child's speech.

But if you sit next to the baby, listen to a fairy tale with enthusiasm, he will begin to watch you. And your passion will be passed on to him. The baby will begin to listen to what the mother is listening to so intently.

You can listen for 5 minutes. And the more times you listen to the same recording, the more joy the child will experience from recognizing sounds familiar to him.

While listening, you can move your lips, persuade-repeat words. This will additionally attract the attention of the baby.
And even greater developmental effect will be if you tell fairy tales yourself, with pleasure, with different expressive intonations! It is to tell, and not to read from a book. It doesn't matter that the child is not speaking yet. He learns to listen to the sounds of speech!

Developmental games and exercises with a child of seven months: the preparatory stage of speech development

Game 1. Display of toys and actions with them.

How to conduct a play-show of a toy with a child at 7 months old?

First part games - activities. First, attract the child to the toy (move the toy, name it: "Here is a bunny. Bunny is jumping: hop-hop-hop!" help him.

The second part of the game-lesson. Let the baby act as a toy himself, examine it from all sides. As soon as interest in the toy falls, and the actions with it become monotonous, proceed to the third part of the play activity with the toy.

The third part of the game is activities. In the third part, show your child different stories with a toy yourself. The toy can hide. You can sing a song or tell a rhyme or nursery rhyme, accompanying it with actions with a toy. You can also "dance" with a toy.

Useful tips for conducting an educational game - showing a toy to a child of 7 months:

Council number 1. Repeat the name of the toy, its signs, actions many times during the show: “Here is a cockerel. The cockerel is beautiful. The cockerel sings: "Kukareku!" Or like this: “Here is the cockerel walking (showing the action). Found the grains! The cockerel pecks the seeds (showing the action) "Or it can be done differently:" The cockerel sings (showing the action). The cockerel hid. Where is the cockerel? Anya found a cockerel and began to dance with him: la-la-la, la-la-la. "

Council number 2. In one such game, 1-2 actions are shown and called. In the next game - the next 1-2 new actions.

Very useful advice number 3 :). For those who have not given up reading this long article, but want to know all the nuances and details! For you, I have prepared the main secret that will ensure the kid's interest in classes and their effectiveness! This is the key to success, and now you will learn how to captivate your baby and how to guarantee yourself 100% success!

The fact is that at the age of 7 months, a child still cannot consciously and voluntarily focus on a toy. Therefore, the so-called "Indicative reactions" That is, a situation is created when the baby will involuntarily look at the toy.

How to create such a situation:

The sudden appearance of a toy (from under a bright scarf, from a bright bag, from a bright box). They take out the toy, name it, show 1-2 actions - and - attention is the main thing! - after that they are put back in a box, under a handkerchief or in a bright bag! It is very important! The toy must be hidden! And then again unexpectedly get it and show a new action. And again, unexpectedly, to remove it - it ran away, the toy hid.
The effect of contrasting actions and unexpected change of action. For example, first a bunny rides a horse, and then suddenly - boo! Fell! Please note that vivid experiences will lead to the fact that at this moment the baby will not repeat the necessary syllables after you, he will be all in emotions. It should be so! Babbling - repeating syllables - the baby will be in between shows (when you hide the toy and sing a song).

Game 2. Actions with toys to imitate.

For example: lay out the balls, roll them and put them in a box. Or open your purse, get your pussy, close your purse.

You show the action, and the baby repeats it or does it in his own way. For example, you put the cubes in a cart and he takes them back out. Or you put the balls into two groups by color (yellow separately, blue separately), and the baby mixes them again. It is at the age of 7 months that the child masters the opposite actions (put on-take off, put on-off), so he will gladly join such a game.

In playing with toys with a child of 7 months, you can and should include materials with different textures. Even the same patchwork balls can be velvet, and chintz, and flannel, or the same ball combines slices of different materials. This develops the baby's tactile sensitivity.

Interesting ball games for children and games and poems were developed by F. Frebel. You can get acquainted with them in the article

How to teach a child new actions?

Usually, such training happens intuitively by itself, because the mother adjusts to the baby. But if we speak "in science" :). then teaching the baby a new action (give ..., show goodbye, etc. is three stages:

First step. The new action is called an adult and is performed by the adult together with the child. The adult makes the necessary movement with the child's hand. This is called the "passive movement method".
Second phase. You act in front of the child's eyes, prompting the toddler to perform a movement (“show method with the word”).
Stage three. The kid does an action at your word without showing ("okay", "goodbye", "give", etc.)

Game 3. Games with pictures.

At seven months, a child can already find a familiar object in the picture, that is, recognize a well-known volumetric object in a plane image.

Game 4. Games for the development of fine motor skills.

Play with toys for the development of fine motor skills and cognitive development of the child. These are games with balls, cubes, cones, rings, which are attached to a ribbon in a garland. Games with educational books and educational rugs. Playing with materials with different textures to develop tactile sensitivity.

Games for the development of fine motor skills can be found in the article
How to make a developmental book for the development of fine motor skills, you will learn from the article

Game 5. Learning to grab objects with two hands.

Give the child holding one toy another toy, and help them pick it up with the other hand.
Next time, help your toddler learn to move the toy from one hand to the other.

You can play the drum with two hands at once. Give your baby two sticks or rattles to tap on the table. The child will be happy to knock with both hands.

Say at this time the words of a rhythmic rhyme or nursery rhyme. For example:

Tilibom, tili-bom,
The cat's house caught fire.

Knock knock, hammer,
We will build a house for the dolls.

Poems for games - shows of toys with a child of 7 months.

You need to say the texts as if singing, stretching out vowel sounds, rhythmically, clearly, clearly, at an average speech rate (not fast)

7 months- a unique period of child development! I wish you and your baby happiness, may he please you! You will learn about the further development of the child from the following articles on the Native Path website. And in this short 2-minute video, at the end of the article, let's recall all the features of the development of a baby at 7 months:

From the 7th month of life, the child begins an intensive psychological development and a very active knowledge of the world. In the first six months, all his energy was spent on mastering physical skills, and now he begins to more actively study the properties of surrounding objects, thereby developing his thinking. It is during this period that the baby begins to understand that others can react to his actions in different ways, therefore, at this age, parents can already gradually introduce various educational techniques into the child's life.

Physical development of the child at 7-9 months

The norms for the weight and height of a child at 7 months are as follows:

  • the weight of girls is from 6.8 to 8.6 kg, the weight of boys is from 7.4 to 9.2 kg;
  • the height of girls is from 65 to 69.6 cm, the height of boys is from 67 to 71.3 cm.

At 8 months, the indicators of the child's weight and height are as follows:

  • the weight of girls is from 7 to 9 kg, the weight of boys is from 7.7 to 9.6 kg;
  • the height of girls is from 66.4 to 71.1 cm, the height of boys is from 68.4 to 72.8 cm.

With the normal development of a child at 9 months, his weight and height correspond to the following indicators:

  • the weight of girls is from 7.3 to 9.3 kg, the weight of boys is from 8 to 9.9 kg;
  • the height of girls is from 67.7 to 72.6 cm, the height of boys is from 69.7 to 74.2 cm.

Baby development at 7 months

The main skill that characterizes the development of a child at 7-8 months is crawling. By the end of 7 months, most babies crawl very quickly and nimbly, which allows them to move freely and explore their surroundings.

Some babies are able to sit well by 7 months, keeping their backs straight and not using their hands for support. Especially active babies can get up on their own, but they are not yet able to get back down or they do it very badly. In addition, many children at 7 months can stand up in the crib on their own, using its sides as a support, and take several steps.

The main instrument for exploring the world around the baby is the sense organs. Everything that only catches his eye is carefully felt, and then sent to his mouth. During this period, many children have their first teeth, so they happily gnaw small objects and toys. Parents should not be discouraged from this, but you need to monitor the cleanliness of the objects that the baby pulls into the mouth.

Communication is an important condition for good speech development in a child at 7 months. You need to talk with the child as much as possible and call him the surrounding objects. Then, towards the end of the 7th month, he will know the names of the things that he sees every day.

By the end of the seventh month, the child may be interested in books. He will look at the pictures with pleasure, and parents should use his interest to form speech skills: read to the baby and tell the name of certain objects in the pictures. This period is very important for the child's speech development: at 7 months he is not yet able to consciously pronounce words, but he can imitate some sounds, and also perfectly perceive speech by ear. If, starting from the age of seven months, parents actively engage with the baby, they will hear the first words from him faster.

One of the important features of the development of a child at 8 months is that it is during this period that many children begin to demonstrate stubbornness and capriciousness, wanting to achieve their goal. It is important for parents not to give in when a child tries to get something with the help of crying and screaming, but at the same time, you should not constantly prohibit something from him. It is better to distract the child from the object that attracted his attention than to use aggressive prohibitions and strict intonations all the time. During this period, you can already use explanations - calmly tell the child why you cannot touch certain objects, etc.

Many children at this age have a very wary attitude towards strangers. Also, an eight-month-old baby is afraid to be alone and constantly requires the attention of his mother. When in a large company of people, he quickly gets tired. All these phenomena are normal and inherent in this age period, so parents should not worry if their baby is very afraid of strangers or cannot remain alone even for a few minutes: this period should be experienced with the child, providing him with support.

The main activity that determines the development of a child at 7-8 months is the manipulation of objects and the study of their properties. Parents need to show the baby what to do with toys, and he will imitate their actions, thereby expanding his knowledge.

It is also important to continue classes aimed at developing the child's speech: read fairy tales to the child, talk a lot with him and stimulate his desire to "talk". At this age, the child already knows how to combine sounds into simple syllables ("ma-ma-ma", "ba-ba-ba"), but he still pronounces them unconsciously. Nevertheless, you need to encourage the baby when he tries to say something, and maintain a dialogue with him by repeating the sounds he utters. This is how the child trains his vocal apparatus, preparing him for meaningful speech.

Baby development at 9 months

The main skill that a nine-month-old child should have is the ability to sit down without the help of an adult. The physical development of the child at 8-9 months already allows him to sit down on his own. Some babies master this skill by the end of the 8th month, but the middle to the end of the 9th month is also considered the norm. If the child has not started to sit down by the end of this period, you need to see a doctor and get tested.

Also, at 9 months, a child can get up with support and take several steps, and some children can do it on their own. This skill is not standard for a nine-month-old baby: many children at this age do not try to get up, but crawl actively.

A nine-month-old child, with whom they have studied quite a lot, already knows his name and the names of many objects around him. Also at this age, children know how to play educational games: the child no longer just shifts toys from place to place, but understands what actions can be performed with certain objects.

For the normal development of a child at 8-9 months, parents are advised to provide him with maximum freedom and safety of movement. You should not put the baby in the playpen for a long time, it is better so that he can move around the apartment and study the surrounding space.

What a child should be able to do at seven months is a question that undoubtedly worries you, my dear reader. At this time, when the development of the baby is accelerating, rapid physical changes, the emergence of a large number of new movements stimulate the emergence of social and emotional skills.

Baby's motor activity

There is a fairly long list of what a baby should do when he is seven months old. By this time, children are already able to:

  • crawl on bellies;
  • make attempts to crawl on all fours;
  • For the first few days while learning to crawl, your toddler may be crawling backwards, and this is completely normal. Soon he will figure out how to control his arms and legs and will move as it should;
  • some kids skip the crawling step and immediately try to walk. This phenomenon is also not considered a pathology.

New steps in the physical development of a child at seven months can be a real challenge for you. At this time, some children begin to stand up at the support. At the same time, many still do not know how to sit and sit, therefore, in order to change position, they simply fall on their backs.

The baby knows how to sit without support for several minutes and tries to sit down. The baby takes the "sitting" position, first getting on all fours and then squatting on one thigh. You can train your child a little and do the following exercise with him:

  1. The child lies on his back, stretch out your fingers to him so that he grabbed them;
  2. Raise the baby to the "sitting" position and lower it back;
  3. Repeat three times. If the crumb grips weakly, hold it by the wrists, tightly grasping the handles.

This exercise is needed to develop sitting skills and strengthens all muscle groups.

The development of a premature baby at seven months in physical terms is almost the same as the development of babies born at term. Parents of "hurried" kids need to pay more attention to fine motor skills, to play with children toys of different shapes, sizes and textures.

Seven months to a child is a time when he actively demonstrates everything that he should be able to; the video will help you remember all the interesting moments of his growing up.

Mental development and new games

Here's what a baby can do by the time he is seven months old:

  • take the toy with right and left handles, transfer from hand to hand;
  • hold an object with both hands, throw, take and give it at the request of an adult;
  • find a toy hidden under a napkin or blanket;
  • knock two rattles against each other;
  • break or disassemble various items;
  • press buttons, bang on the keys of a musical toy;
  • clap;
  • flip through a book with thick pages;
  • point a finger at the thing that he wants to reach;
  • hiding on mom's shoulder.

The development of fine motor skills continues. The kid can take soft balls in the cam and fold them into a round hole. You can take any sort of sorter and give your child fabric pom-poms and pieces of any soft material, or small soft toys. He will gladly push them through the holes of the sorter.

The baby's seventh month of development is the time when he takes an interest in tableware and can imitate you and try to scoop at food with a spoon.

But do not take the spoon away from the baby: a little more time will pass, and the development of the child will lead to the fact that he will learn to eat carefully, even if this happens not at seven months of life, but a little later. In the course "The ABC of Complementary Feeding: Safe Introduction of Complementary Feeding", you will learn how to teach a child to eat carefully, instill in him the correct behavior at the table and teach him to eat with appetite.

Self-directed action is essential for the development of the cerebral cortex.

If the little one started to sit, then he can already swim in the bath while sitting. A special seat can be purchased to insure your baby. Children love bright floating toys; rubber figures in which you can draw water and splash.

At this age, kids love to listen to music. It's good if you have a musical toy that plays different melodies. Just choose a device with a volume control and a pleasant tone, since the baby will play music endlessly.

For the psychomotor development of a child at seven months, it will be useful to learn several light dance movements with him:

  1. clap your hands (if you can't already);
  2. "Flashlights";
  3. head shaking;
  4. turns of the body to the right and left (when the baby is sitting);

Just demonstrate these movements to your baby several times, and he will happily repeat them after you. Seven months to a child - it's time to teach him to dance, this is what both a girl and a boy should be able to do.

Children are very interested in their reflection in the mirror. They smile at him, sometimes even make faces.

It is advisable that the mirror is positioned so that the baby cannot reach it on his own. The kid is already able to hit the glass with a heavy object.

Communication with other people

  • At seven months, the baby is very attached to one of the family members (as a rule, this is the mother). The baby is constantly looking for her and gets upset if she leaves.

For the mental development of a child at seven months, it is necessary that this period pass next to an important person for him. At this age, children develop a basic trust in people, and their mother is the guarantor of the safety of the world around them.

  • At the age of seven months, the baby learns to say hello and goodbye: to wave a pen when meeting and parting. Teach the little one to be polite: always greet the people you meet and say goodbye to them, say "thank you" and "please."

If a baby has an example of polite treatment in front of his eyes from childhood, then you will not need to additionally teach him the rules of behavior in society.

  • During this period, the little man constantly imitates adults. The kid copies their facial expressions, gestures, intonation. You can benefit from this age-specific development of the child: show by your example how to eat with a spoon, drink from a cup, wave "hello" and "goodbye" - all this a baby at 7 months is already able to master.
  • Children relate well to familiar people and are wary of a person whom they see for the first time in their life. To help your little one overcome this fear, show him your affection for the new person. Seeing your good attitude, the crumb will "melt" faster.
  • At seven months old, it is important for a baby not only to be close to loved ones, but also to get their approval. When praising children, be sure to say exactly what they deserve to be encouraged. For the development of purposefulness, the baby needs to know what actions lead to praise.
  • At seven months, the development of the cerebral cortex leads to the fact that the baby understands what adults are talking to him about. Let it be at the level of intonation and individual words for now, but this skill is improving every day. Your baby already perfectly understands what it means "no", and can very violently protest when he hears this word.

Seven months for a child is a time when children of different sexes have approximately the same development, what a boy should be able to do, so a girl can.

Your baby's speech development

The toddler continues to pronounce more and more new syllables. In the seventh month of life, the baby begins to "give out" their combinations: for example, "ma-pa". The baby is delighted that he can pronounce different sounds. At seven months old, your baby already knows how to screech.

Children pronounce syllables now louder, now quieter, with different intonations.

When talking to your baby, show your emotions vividly with your voice and facial expressions. So the little one will quickly learn to express joy or grief.

At seven months, babies are very different. Someone is already standing on their feet and trying to walk, someone is just beginning to crawl on their bellies. Mark the main milestones in the development of your baby, watch him, take more photos. After all, this time will never happen again!

After six months, parents expect new achievements from the child: the first words, active crawling, the first steps. Every month, if not every day, the baby will master and improve these skills. But at the same time, he needs the help of his parents. So how do you develop a baby at 7 months old? What is important to pay attention to?

Age skills

Now the baby is actively studying the world around him, is interested in people - not only relatives, but also everyone who is around. At this age, both the right toys and live communication are important to him.

A 7-month-old baby is becoming more and more like a "real person": his motor skills are becoming more diverse:

  • the child is able to sit without support;
  • he can (or learns) to sit up from a prone position;
  • crawls in all directions on his stomach (and the most active babies are already crawling on all fours, overcoming small steps),
  • stretches for the toy with one handle supported by the other;
  • knows how to transfer objects from hand to hand;
  • leafs through a cardboard book, examining the pictures;
  • plays with a ball;
  • holds the bottle on his own, and if it falls, he can pick it up;
  • can change position: from lying down - to sit down, from seated - to lie down or get on all fours;
  • with the support of the armpit, the baby can step over with its legs;
  • some fidgets have learned to stand up on the support and learn to take steps independently with its help.

Progress is also noticeable in intellectual development.

  • The kid is already able to recognize objects at different distances, even if he is shown them at different angles.
  • He explores a new subject in all the ways available to him now.
  • Can play with a variety of objects using both handles.
  • Learns the direct and reverse order of actions (removes-puts on, closes-opens, pulls out and folds back, throws and picks up).
  • Acts with toys in accordance with their purpose (rolls or throws the ball, puts the cubes one on top of the other or knocks one against the other, opens the boxes, pushes the rolling toys).
  • He captures large toys or objects with the whole hand, small ones - with a pinch.
  • To the question "where?" can point with his finger at the desired object, even if it has been rearranged from place to place. He can choose the desired item among several offered.
  • He can find and show something familiar not in life, but in a picture - in a flat image.

Significant changes have also occurred in the child's psychoemotional sphere by this age:

  • he already understands many words, understands when his name is called;
  • can express their emotions by intonation, gestures, facial expressions;
  • distinguishes between the emotional state of the parents;
  • can contact other people, but not yet on his own initiative;
  • can repeat learned movements accompanying nursery rhymes when mom says them;
  • fulfills simple requests (sit down, give, lift, drink);
  • speech is in the stage of active babbling: the baby babbles for a long time, loudly and clearly, repeating syllables after adults that look like future words (ma, ba, pa).

At this age, it is important for a child to understand why he is being praised, and not just to hear that he is good and well done. Therefore, always explain to him what the praise is for: he found a toy, handed an object to his mother, closed the box, took a small step, etc. This way he will learn to correlate praise with the correct actions, he will begin to see the interlocutor's mother and the employee in his actions, which is extremely important now and at later stages.

What can you teach your child?

First of all, you need to proceed from the skills and needs of each individual child, teaching simple skills appropriate for his age:

  • point at objects not with eyes or with a hand, but with a finger;
  • fulfill simple requests: bring, give, lift, find;
  • wave the handle "goodbye", stretch it out as a sign of greeting;
  • climb the support on the legs;
  • eat from a spoon, drink from a cup from mom's hands;
  • go to bed at a specific time.

But one of the most important activities with a child at 7 months old is teaching crumbs of object-oriented activity. This will help him manage his actions, understand the possibilities of these actions and foresee their consequences.

  • Take 2 toys, tell about each of them - who it is or what, what is it for, what color, size, etc. Then ask the child to give one of the toys. The kid must learn to navigate in your requests.
  • Show what actions can be performed with different toys and objects and what the result will be. For example, how to play with nesting dolls, sorter, pyramid, tumbler, insert toys, cubes.
  • Teach the child to correlate two toys (cubes can be put in a box, the doll can be rolled in a typewriter, knock on objects with a hammer).

When showing your child new toys, after a brief description and demonstration, give him the opportunity to feel and study the new object for himself. As soon as he exhausts the arsenal of cognitive actions, start showing him various simple plots: the bunny can jump, hide, fall, eat, cry, sleep, sing or dance.

In such activities, it is important, first of all, a positive attitude of an adult and a baby. You should also remember about changing types of activities: the game should not last more than 5 minutes. After that, you can do something else. For example, learn to crawl or get up.

Buy or sew a glove doll. She can become a real friend and helper: help feed or bathe a baby, soothe or tell stories before bed, give him a massage or become a character in the first puppet theater. This is a mass of positive emotions that are so important to the baby now.

What to play with your baby?

Educational games for children at the age of 7 months can be organized using improvised materials. Here are some examples.

  • What's in the box?

For this game you will need a casket, basket or container with a hinged lid. You need to put a small object inside, shake it and give it to the child, asking what is it that rattles inside. Let him try to open the container himself and find the object, and then study it.

In addition, it is useful to simply fill such containers with different objects and offer the crumbs to lay them out and collect them back. Such games at this age can keep the child busy for a long time. After all, he will learn to take objects of different shapes, sizes, properties, thereby developing fine motor skills, tactile sensations, and coordination. You can also use household items as "fillers": bottle caps, spoons, plates, champagne corks, a mirror, washed coins, squeaky toys, beans, curly pasta, nuts, etc.

  • "Thimble".

Everyone knows this game. You can play with the baby using 2 cups and, for example, a piece of fruit or vegetable that he has already tried in complementary foods. In front of his eyes, a piece is covered with a glass, the second glass is also turned over and placed next to it. You need to move the glasses a little and invite the child to show where the food is hidden. This game helps to develop logic, attention, intelligence.

  • "Drummer".

Games with the baby for the development of hearing, a sense of rhythm can also be carried out "between times", with those objects that are at hand. Let him drum on different pots, pans, bowls with a wooden spoon (or a plastic rod from a pyramid). You can give two different "drumsticks" at once. While mom is preparing dinner, the child will entertain mom and himself with such a "concert".

Mom can make useful development projects herself, it's not difficult. For example, you can take a small box and stick a bright picture on one of its sides. The child needs to show the picture, and then turn the box over to the other side. If the baby himself does not understand how to look for the picture, the mother shows him, turning the box in different directions. This game also trains attention, logic, coordination.

Traffic green light

The child's motor activity is extremely important for his physical development, in particular for the timely mastering of the walking skill. Therefore, it is imperative to develop a child at 7 months physically.

For example, now it is important to stimulate him to sit down on his own: help from a supine position first turn on his side, and then, with support on one handle, sit down. The exercise "sitting down" is useful for this. First, the child is taught to rise by pulling him by the arms. Then the exercise is made more difficult. With one hand, an adult holds the baby by the legs, and with the other, he pulls and pulls the child's handle aside. The baby will begin to sit down with the free handle. Therefore, it is important to do the exercise with both hands one at a time, stimulating the child with an attractive toy.

The following exercises will help you practice your crawling skill.

  • Find a toy. It is good if the toy is musical at the same time, because, without seeing it, the child will want to find a sounding object. A toy (or several different ones) is hidden under a handkerchief or napkin at a distance from the crumbs. Then it is turned on without opening. The kid will be interested, crawl up and open the toy. Let him play with her.
  • Race. Mom "competes" with the child. You can crawl after the toy (who will get it faster?), Run away from the baby or catch up with him, tickling on the heels. Of course, the winner should be the kid, who during the game will get a lot of pleasure and crawl from the heart.
  • Obstacle race. For this exercise, you will need a special children's massage track (you can buy it or sew it yourself). This is a textile rug, on which elements of various shapes and textures are sewn (bags with different cereals, soft and rough sponges, wooden rings or sticks, buttons, all kinds of cords, plastic lattices, etc.). On the way, the baby will not only overcome these obstacles, but also touch, along the way developing fine motor skills. It is important that at the end of the child's journey the desired reward awaits (a treat, a bright toy or mother's kiss).

We develop speech

This is one of the most important skills that you need to pay attention to at any age. How to stimulate the baby in terms of speech was described in the previous article. Here we will dwell on a few more points.

  • Use onomatopoeia. This is the first step towards speaking real words. Imitate the sounds of animals, nature, household appliances when you see them, look at them in pictures, or just play imitation. Articulate clearly so that the baby can see the movements of the lips (or perhaps he will begin to feel them - this is also useful).
  • Use a mirror. Bring your baby to the mirror so that he can see you and himself, control whether he is repeating after you correctly. Despite all the stereotypes, a mirror in terms of the development of speech is a very useful subject.
  • Positive attitude, jokes, joyful emotions will contribute to the early development of speech. Whereas constant stressful situations can become a real brake on this path.

Positive emotions help develop not only speech, but also all other skills of the baby. By evoking positive emotions in the child, surrounding him with affection and love, parents do much more for his development than when they fall asleep from head to toe with expensive toys.
