Before starting work on installing a folding door, it is necessary to check the presence of all components of the kit, their quality (the elements may have a factory defect or damage due to improper transportation). You can start installing the door only after you have made sure that the necessary components are available. After unpacking, before proceeding with the assembly and installation of the folding interior door, it is necessary to check that all components and parts are present.

Considering the dimensions of the door and the thickness of the extensions, we can easily calculate the dimensions of the opening we need: 83 + 2 + 2 \u003d 87 cm, where 83 is the width of the accordion door, 2 is the thickness of 2 extensions for interior doors, and the 2-centimeter distance between the extensions and a wall on each side for foaming. After we have figured out the dimensions, we proceed to the preparation of the opening. On the one hand, we need to remove all the remaining plaster,
if there are any left after dismantling the old door, then measure 87 cm from the resulting edge of the opening,
necessary for the installation of a folding interior door, and draw a line along the level along the entire height.
Next, you need to expand the doorway according to the resulting size. This can be done in various ways: how to cut off a part of the wall with a grinder, or expand with a punch. Using the example, the last method was chosen, so that there was as little dust as possible in the process of work, since the apartment in which the installation was taking place was already residential. With this option, along the line that we drew, it is necessary to make through holes with a puncher using a drill
and beat off the brick from these holes with a spatula.
The opening for refining is ready.
We start assembling the structure from additional strips. Before installing the extension, you need to trim the uneven edges of each plank.
We need the top plank 85 cm long.
The size of the side extensions for interior doors can be found as follows: measure the height of the opening (in our case it is 207 cm)
and subtract 2 cm: 1 cm for the thickness of the addition and 1 cm for foaming. After all the cuts, we assemble the structure itself. To do this, we measure 0.5 cm from each edge of the upper extrusion
and at this distance we drill 2 holes with a diameter of 3 mm at an arbitrary distance from each other.
After that, we lean the side extensions against the top so that the edge of the side goes along the cut of the top.
You should get a U-shaped structure, ready for installation.
We try it on in the opening and if everything is done correctly, it fits easily.
After that we make holes in the side plates.
First, they need to be drilled at the same distance from each other along the entire length and exactly in the middle along the width.
In our case, the extensions are 15 cm, which means the middle is 7.5, the length is 205 cm: we retreat from the bottom 10 cm and divide into 5 parts, it turns out that the holes will be every 39 cm.The holes themselves may be different, it depends on what you are use fasteners. For example, you can make a hole of 3 mm, sweep 8.5 mm and fix it with a hedgehog dowel and a self-tapping screw for wood
or just use a nail dowel.
In the latter case it is necessary to make a 6 mm hole and a 10 mm sweep.
When attaching the additional strip to the wall, do not forget that everything needs to be done exclusively by level
and remember to check it even after you've already pinned it to make sure nothing has moved. When leveling, it is imperative to leave a space for foaming between the extension and the wall. To do this, you can use wooden blocks as a spacer.
After we have exposed the structure in the opening,
you can start foaming. Foaming occurs from bottom to top on both sides.
While the foam hardens, proceed to assembling the door.
First of all, we saw off the desired length of the side guide profile and the horizontal rail, which, in principle, is the same, the only difference is in the use of the sides.
The length of our horizontal rail is 83 cm,
and the length of the guide profile together with the rail connected to it is 205 cm.
All this, of course, needs to be cut.
After that we put together the panels. The sequence is as follows: we attach a narrow panel to the finish panel,
followed by the hinge profile
and continues to alternate with wide panels,
which is already completed by the start panel
with a guide docking profile.
Now you need to fasten all this together. For this purpose, we put a plug on the hinge profile and screw it to the door with a short screw from the kit.
This procedure must be repeated with each such profile, both from the bottom and from the top edge of the resulting canvas.
After that, we proceed to the installation of the door in the opening.
First, we will prepare a horizontal rail. You need to make 4 holes in it by 3 mm
and through them, leaning the rail against the intended attachment point, drill an additional bar.
After that, folding the door into an accordion, we put it on this rail
and, without removing, we fasten to the upper opening of the opening using self-tapping screws for wood, measuring 3 × 25 mm into the prepared holes.
We pass to the guide profiles. They also need to be drilled in 4 places of 3 mm with equal pitch
and in the same way, having made holes in the extensions,
After that, we connect the canvas to the guide profile using a docking profile, simply snapping them together.
For a complete picture, you need to install the handles.
They are installed in the holes already prepared by the factory and fastened to each other through the panel with ties.
It is screwed in with the same long screws from the kit.
After that, you need to close the door and put marks from the latch on the guide profile.

After the work done, the last thing left to do is cash out. But before that, you still have to cut off the frozen foam.
A mark for cutting the platband must be placed along the edge of the additional strip,
leaning it against the attachment point. You can saw off both with a miter saw, and with a hacksaw with a miter box.
and nail them to the additional strips. It is more convenient to first attach the side trims,
and then the top one.
After we repeat this procedure on the reverse side, the installation of the accordion door, as well as the accompanying lining of the opening, is completed at this.
