What are the technical characteristics of Uniflot Knauf putty that distinguish it from other analogues? Choosing a putty: what makes Knauf Uniflot mixtures good

The quality of the mortar for sealing joints in the gypsum board is quite great importance... Knauf special putty is perfect solution to carry out such work. This material is widely known among professional plasterers. What is Uniflot Knauf putty intended for, what are its technical characteristics and scope?

Uniflot Knauf scope

This putty is versatile. It is not subdivided into different categories and varieties. The solution is equally well suited for both conventional and moisture resistant drywall sheets. This material can be used for sealing joints in indoor areas with any humidity.

Uniflot putty can be used:

  • in kitchens in apartments, cafes and restaurants;
  • in bathrooms;
  • in showers;
  • in indoor private and public pools;
  • in laundries.

This mixture can be used in all places where moisture resistant drywall is used. However, it is best not to use Uniflot Knauf to create a solid layer.

As a building mixture, this material is close to ideal. Created on the basis of natural gypsum, the putty has a lot of positive qualities.

Uniflot Knauf - moisture resistant putty

Its advantages include such outstanding specifications:

  1. High strength. This figure can be compared with cement grade M50. Even an ordinary one cannot withstand a load of 50 kg / cm². starting putty cement-based.
  2. Ease. Due to this indicator, drywall walls do not experience additional loadwhich can lead to deformation.
  3. Excellent adhesion. Knauf putty is close to synthetic adhesives in this property. It can withstand a pullout force of 7 kg / cm². This allows you to close the seams between the gypsum board without using a mounting mesh, which significantly speeds up construction and reduces costs.
  4. Water resistance. After complete drying and gaining strength, the putty acquires hydrophobic properties, does not absorb and does not let water through.
  5. Plastic. This quality allows the seam, without cracking, to deform under the influence of loads. This prevents expensive and rather messy repairs associated with building settlement.
  6. Zero shrinkage. There is no sediment in crevices up to 2 mm. For wider seams, reapplication is required.
  7. Convenience of packaging. The mixture is dispensed in paper bags. The weight of one package is 5 kg and 25 kg. Once unpacked, the contents of the package can be used for 9 months.

The only drawback of this putty: it cannot be used in external work.

The procedure for applying putty

The ready-made solution can be used at temperatures from + 10 ° С to + 35 ° С. When low temperatures it loses its plasticity. Intense heat leads to increased fluidity of the material and its hardening too quickly.

Uniflot Knauf gypsum putty is a fine powder with a different shade. The color of the material can be white, gray, pinkish or yellow. The shade of the powder depends on the location where the gypsum is mined. On qualitative indicators it has no effect.

The solution is prepared immediately before application to the work surface. Its volume should be expected to work within 25-30 minutes. After that, Uniflot freezes and becomes unusable.

The solution is prepared as follows:

  • 1 liter of water is poured into a clean container;
  • 2 kg of the mixture is poured into it;
  • the solution is mixed with a spatula or perforator at low speeds;
  • immediately after reaching the desired consistency, you can start working.

Prepare the joints before applying Uniflot Knauf. They must be free of dust and dirt. Crumbled material must be removed, surfaces must be cleaned and primed.

For grouting, a steel trowel with a blade width of 20 cm is used. Seams are filled with force, excess material is removed and used further. After 30 minutes, the treatment area is smoothed with a spatula. Apply a second coat if necessary. The remains of the set solution are disposed of. It is not recommended to use it for work, as it is fraught with the formation of cracks. The time of the guaranteed set of hardness by the putty is 7 days.

Do not apply the solution with a margin, counting on its shrinkage. The remaining protrusions will be very difficult to grind off due to the high strength of the putty. Immediately after finishing work, the tool and container must be thoroughly washed. If this is not done, then it will be impossible to get rid of the frozen fragments.

Solution consumption directly depends on the characteristics of the treated surface.

With standard laying of gypsum plasterboards, the consumption of dry mix per 1 m² is:

  • for the ceiling - 300 g;
  • for wall partitions - 500 g.

With an increase in the number of joints, the consumption of the solution will increase. Seam sealing, made in 2 layers, leads to an increase in material consumption by another half. Based on this, it is not difficult to calculate the need for material for conducting finishing works.

Conclusion on the topic

Uniflot Knauf gypsum putty is excellent building materialspecialized for sealing joints.

However, even its incredible strength and ductility will not save the day with poorly executed frame installation. If it has not been installed cross bridges, poor-quality fasteners are used or the guides are not securely fixed, then cracks cannot be avoided. Therefore, special attention must be paid to preliminary work.

Do not be afraid of the rather high cost of Uniflot Knauf gypsum putty. Considering that it is used exclusively for sealing joints, very little is required to decorate even a large room. But the quality and convenience of working with the material are worth it.

Knauf Uniflot putty mixture 25 kg is made on the basis of high-strength gypsum and modified with polymer additives. The material can be white and gray to pink, depending on the type of impurity. Color does not affect performance.

Properties

Uniflot dry putty forms an elastic mixture with water. The solution is spread over the surface in a layer of up to 1 mm, dries quickly, does not shrink, does not crack. The material is environmentally friendly.

Appointment

High strength plaster putty Knauf Uniflot 25 kg is used for sealing joints of the following materials:

  • plasterboard Knauf sheets with a semicircular thinned edge without reinforcing tape;
  • GKL with other types of edges using a reinforcing tape;
  • floor slabs from GVLV;
  • Knauf-superlists with reinforcing tape;
  • non-combustible Fireboard plates;
  • sheets Knauf-Acoustics with edges of any kind.

Mode of application

Before filling, the sheets must be firmly fixed on supporting frame... Cut edges with beveled pre-primed and dried for 3 hours. Edges with unedged edges are dust-free without moisture.

To prepare the putty, the dry mixture is poured into water and mixed. The temperature of the solution should not be higher than +30 ° C to maintain the water-holding capacity of the coating. The pot life of the mixture is 45 minutes. Do not add water to the thickened putty, as this will not restore its working properties. Sanding is started after the surface is completely dry.

Storage and transportation

Putty is stored on pallets in factory bags in dry rooms. It is necessary to exclude wetting of the material, contact of the package with the ground. The shelf life of the mixture is 9 months.

Hello dear readers! Once again, I suggest you take a closer look at the product knauf firm... This time it will be a special mixture specially created for sealing the joints of drywall sheets. This is Uniflott putty.

It seems that, unlike others gypsum mixes, it is produced only in Germany, which should speak about its high quality... The Germans do not trust us to do it) Perhaps I'm wrong, I just have never seen this Russian-made putty.

The bag comes with this brochure in 28 languages:

In principle, everything is written in it as on the manufacturer's website.

Properties

The manufacturer claims that Uniflot is superior in many respects similar materials, for example, the same Fugenfüller. It consists of high-strength gypsum binder and polymer additives. Indeed, I can assure you that after complete drying, this piece adheres very powerfully to any surface, although it is polished quite well. It is intended only for sealing joints of gypsum board, gypsum plasterboard and other similar sheet materials... If only because it is very costly to putty with it in a solid and, in general, pointless.

Uniflot is packed in 5 and 25 kg bags. If you see bags somewhere, for example, 10 kg each - this is most likely pale, do not buy. The shelf life of the dry mixture is six months. A small bag costs about 240 rubles. This is two and a half times more expensive than Fugen. But the strength, according to my observations, is much higher. I close up the joints of the sheets only with them. Tried with Fugen - cracked.

A mixture diluted with water has beige color and a specific (quite pleasant, in my opinion) smell. Mixing, of course, is done by the "mix in water" method, and the water should only be cold. Warmth can cause mortar shrinkage and cracks.

The mixing ratio is about a liter of water per 2 kilograms of putty. It is not necessary to leave the mixture in water for swelling, unlike Fugen. Mixing is only allowed by hand with a spatula, and this is another exclusive feature of Uniflot. The fact is that the solution lives much longer this way. By the way, you should not knead it in large portions, our hero is cunning.

At first it seems that it thickens very slowly. You work with him for half an hour and everything is in order, the mixture is vigorous. But there comes a moment when he begins to grasp sharply, and it becomes impossible to work. This phase lasts literally 5 minutes, if not less. So I advise you to try to work out the batch as quickly as possible.

Uniflot is greatly influenced by the cleanliness of the dishes and tools used. If your spatula is new and clean, like the bucket, you can count on 30-40 minutes of work with one batch. If you, like me, are too lazy to wash your tools every time, then your time is 15-20 minutes. Like this.

In addition, dirty dishes can cause nasty lumps to form in the mixture, so dramatically spoiling the appearance of your perfectly flat partition or ceiling ... So, if you make repairs for yourself, wash your tools and containers after each batch, and you will be happy.

You should not add any left-handed stuff like PVA to the finished solution. You've probably read somewhere that it will be stronger this way, but it's all nonsense. Uniflot with PVA is just snotty than without it. And it is also polished without difficulty, which means that PVA does not give any advantages. Yes, yes, I checked. Adding water to the finished solution is also not allowed.

Application

For Uniflot, the surface is prepared in the same way as for any other - it is simply primed. Of course, you need to wait until the soil is completely dry before starting to seal the joints of the gypsum board and the holes from the screws. The manufacturer claims that the new fashionable longitudinal edges of the sheets (PLUK) do not require a primer, as well as the use of reinforcing tape. I am somehow inclined not to trust this and am reinsured.

The composition is applied in two stages. On the first one, all the seams are simply filled with it, after which a reinforcing tape is placed in them, without folds and bubbles, and "pressed" into the solution with a spatula. The usual serpyanka is already outdated, now paper tape is used everywhere.

Approximately an hour after application, it is recommended to adjust the first layer: cut off possible thickenings, sagging, smooth it down while the putty is still quite soft. And only after the first layer of putty has dried (not setting, namely complete drying), a second leveling layer is applied using a wide spatula.

Fortunately, Uniflot dries quite quickly, usually about 2 days for the entire seam depth. The holes from the self-tapping screws are also putty in two passes. The following can be said about the mixture consumption. On the ceiling in a room of 15-17 sq.m. it will take just one five-kilogram bag.

Dry putty mixture based on high-strength gypsum with polymer additives.

Dry gypsum mixes can be different colors, from white to gray and even pink. This is due to the presence of natural impurities in the gypsum stone.

The color of the mixture does not affect its characteristics in any way.

Application
