How to make a palm tree from bottles. How to make a palm tree from plastic bottles with your own hands in stages: step by step instructions

Paper palm trees are great for budget decorating terraces, porches, gazebos and patios, all kinds of parties, as well as school and kindergarten holidays. These palm trees are easy to make, which even a child can handle. But even better is that for all their cheapness and elementary nature, these palm trees look really very realistic.

To you will be required:
- Long cardboard rolls from paper towels or decorative wrapping paper (for a palm tree trunk, which can be made from a wooden, metal or plastic pole / stick, and from other analogues);
- Brown paper, a lot - can be wrinkled, can be used paper bags, in which at least 1 side is monophonic - in general, everything that fits the definition;
- Dense green colored paper(you can glue the usual color in 2 layers for greater rigidity);
- Brown thin rubber bands or thin brown twine / rope;
- stapler;
- Scissors;
- Duct tape;
- A stable decorative container in which you will "plant" your palm tree;
- Decorative pebbles or small shells;
- Sand.

1. If you use cardboard rolls as a palm trunk, you will have to glue several pieces in length to get a palm of the required height. Glue as securely as possible so that the palm tree does not suddenly bend at an inopportune moment. You can even fill the rolls inside with something hard and long at the junction. If you already have a long barrel base, skip this step.

2. With your hands, tear the brown paper into pieces with deliberately jagged edges, but wide enough and long enough to be wrapped around the base of the palm trunk in a spiral with a good overlap. Before wrapping the trunk, rub the paper with your hands for a more realistic look of the palm tree in the end.

3. Secure the wrapped paper to the trunk with rubber bands or a thin brown rope. Put the rope and elastic bands with large distances between the turns so that the paper holds firmly, but its uneven edges can be bent to the sides. They wrapped the entire trunk - bend the horizontal edges of the paper away from the trunk - it will look more like palm bark.

4. Cut large leaves of the most common, slightly elongated and pointed shape from thick double-sided green paper - 8 pcs. Do not try to make them now look like long rectangles with rounded corners, like living palm trees - this is not necessary. When you attach the finished leaves to the palm tree, they will look as they should. Fold the cut leaves in half lengthwise.

6. Take 4 of the 8 finished leaves, fold them together (in a stack) with the lower tips, but direct the sheets themselves in different directions - unevenly, naturally. Fasten the folded tips 2-3 times with a stapler. Repeat with the remaining 4 sheets.

7. Crumple up a good ball of brown paper if you made the base of the palm trunk from cardboard rolls. Insert the fastened bottom ends of two “bundles” of palm leaves quite deep inside the upper stem roll opposite each other, pre-gluing both the tips and the inside of the roll with glue. Insert a ball of paper from above tightly so that the leaves do not fall out, and also to close the hole in the trunk from above. Spread the leaves and, if necessary, correct their position a little.

If the trunk doesn't have a hole, simply use glue on the top and bottom of the pinned leaf tips, then tie them tightly with thin brown string to the top of the palm trunk. Under the rope, it is also worth dropping glue everywhere.

Add-ons:

Try to put 2-3 palm trees in one large - wide and deep - container different heights and leaf size

To make this project even more sustainable, glue newspaper leaves and tempera green, then cut out palm leaves.

Do you want to decorate your personal plot with an interesting hand-made craft? Create a work of art on your own from improvised materials? Palm from plastic bottles- what you need, it will turn the territory into an amazing exotic garden and will delight the eye for many years. Our master class is dedicated to how to make a palm tree from plastic bottles with your own hands in stages from used PET containers.

If you have a desire and a creative impulse, let's get to work.

Materials and tools

First of all, we will determine the quantity and quality of materials. What container is suitable for our crafts? Of course, every home has used plastic bottles, but are all of them suitable for our work? Of course not. We strictly choose only brown and green bottles for the trunk and crown. For a larger plastic beauty, a 2-liter container is best suited; for a smaller tree, a one and a half liter container will do.

We will need:

  • 15-20 brown barrel bottles big tree and 15-10 for a small one;
  • 6-8 bottles of green to create 1 palm leaf;
  • stationery knife or scissors;
  • metal rod or wooden handle for attaching the trunk;
  • wire and rope;
  • scotch.

Below is detailed instructions for the manufacture of palm trees with diagrams and photos.

Getting Started

Action algorithm:

  1. We create a crown for trees;
  2. We make the trunk;
  3. We combine structural elements;

Let's start creating the leaves. To do this, take a green bottle and, using a clerical knife or scissors, cut off the bottom, as shown in the photo.

Then, on the resulting workpiece, stepping back from the throat 3-4 cm, we make frequent longitudinal strips.

Note! The more often the stripes go, the more fluffy our leaves turn out.

In the same way, we prepare 5 more blanks. We insert the resulting blanks on top of each other. In order to fasten them together, we use a wire or rope: we pass it through the neck and fix it. The first sheet is ready.

We bring to your attention the second method of making palm branches. To do this, take a green bottle, use a clerical knife to remove the bottom. Visually divide the bottle into four parts, cut. It turns out the workpiece, as shown in the photo below:

Then we decorate the resulting sheets, for this we make sharp teeth along the perimeter of the leaves, unbend the resulting fluffy leaves outward, and fix it.

Repeating steps 1-3, prepare the remaining parts of the crown. We remind you that at least 6-7 leaves are required for one palm tree.

The procedure for creating leaves can be represented schematically:

We proceed to the manufacture of the trunk. As we know, in nature, the trunk of a palm tree is covered with scales. In order for our exotic plastic beauty to be as similar as possible to its natural counterpart, we will try to recreate the natural relief of its base. This will require almost the entire bottle. Brown.

Carefully cut off the bottom.

Cut the bottle into 6 equal scales. It turns out such a wonderful "chamomile".

We create similar daisies for two trunks of palm trees. We collect them together and fasten them in the same way as the leaves. The trunks are ready.

The number of blanks depends on how tall the trees you are going to make.

The resulting bases should hold the crown tightly, for this it is necessary to strengthen them with reinforcement or a wooden handle as shown in the diagram.

Quick assembly

Now that all the structural elements are ready, let's start assembling. There are several layout options for prefabricated elements. Let's take a simpler one. We prepare the crown of the trunk, cut off the throat from the brown bottle. Almost at the very bottom we make several cruciform cuts. Here we will insert our crown. The assembly process is more clearly presented in the diagrams below.

Important! For the resulting masterpieces, it is necessary to make a foundation so that they hold well in the ground and do not sway.

If you have the opportunity, you can prepare a welded structure for its subsequent concreting.

What wonderful and unique trees we got, in this way, you can create a whole exotic evergreen alley in your garden to the envy of your neighbors. Imagine and create interesting crafts for your site, involve children in the work.

Turn on your imagination and decorate your tropical beauties with smaller multi-colored bottles: add bananas and coconuts to palm trees.

Pay attention to the creations of your colleagues, take note and use your favorite techniques and elements in your work. Some of the options for work are shown in the photo below:

How is this possible? It is very simple, if you carefully study the instructions for making palm trees from bottles, prepare everything necessary tools, expendable materials, and be sure to stock up on a good mood.

Bottle palm tree: possible benefits and methods of application

As you know, the plastic used for the production of food packaging does not decompose for hundreds of years when it enters the soil. Centralized removal of this kind of garbage is not established everywhere, and no one wants to litter nearby territories with plastic waste. What should a summer resident do in such a situation? Is it really necessary to carry used plastic bottles to the city?

Don't rush! If you carefully collect bottles of brown and green plastic, in the off-season, the whole family can turn this container into an unusual evergreen tree in an evening.

A palm tree from bottles will perfectly decorate:

  • house territory;
  • unsightly corner of the garden;
  • plot next to outbuildings;
  • playground;
  • a border of land near an open .

A palm tree made from plastic bottles according to the instructions below can be a spectacular decoration at any party, wedding, theme party or children's party.

Making an original decor item will not cause difficulties even for people who are far from this kind of creativity. The main thing is to prepare everything you need before making a palm tree out of plastic bottles.

What is required for a palm tree from plastic bottles?

What should be stocked up before starting work? Primarily, home master you will need plastic bottles of green and brown. Green ones are blanks for the foliage of a tree, and brown ones are the future trunks of an evergreen beauty. At the same time, the height of the plant and the splendor of the crown directly depend on the amount of collected containers.

Scroll necessary materials and tools for creating a palm tree from bottles includes:

  • plastic container;
  • sharp clerical knife and scissors;
  • strong tape;
  • metal bar or plastic tube for the barrel;
  • thick rope or braided wire for the base of the leaves.

When choosing plastic bottles for palm trees, you need to take into account that trunks and leaves made from containers of the same diameter look better. If there are smaller green bottles in stock, they can be used for leaves in the middle of the crown, but brown small vessels will have to be used for tree trunks of a different type or size. Different shades of plastic are not a hindrance. They will only give the man-made plant liveliness and brightness.

Bottle palm tree: instructions for making

A step-by-step description of all the subtleties of creation plastic tree will help quickly, literally in the evening, gradually a palm tree from plastic bottles of the intended height.

The process consists of three steps:

  • leaf assembly;
  • creating a trunk of a plastic plant;
  • connection of all parts and installation of the finished tree.

Before making a palm tree out of plastic bottles, the container must be washed and all paper and film labels removed from it.

Although there are a lot of options for creating a plastic tree, the most lush long leaves with any chosen method, they are obtained from large, for example, two-liter bottles.

Making a palm tree crown from bottles

For prepared green bottles, the bottom part is cut off with a clerical knife or scissors. It is no longer needed, and the upper half will become a blank for the sheet.

It is carefully cut into thin longitudinal strips towards the neck. The larger the diameter of the plastic bottle, the thicker and more magnificent the green palm leaves will turn out.

These are not the only option for creating leaves. If a upper part cut a plastic bottle, as in the photo, into four “petals”, and then cut each of them several times, you will get beautiful feathery foliage.

The resulting leaf fragments are sequentially strung on a strong rope or strong electrical cable. A lid is necessarily screwed onto the first blank in order to fasten the “petiole” of the sheet at the top with a knot. The last part of the bottle is twisted in the same way.

A palm tree made of plastic bottles can have a top of any size, but trees with a crown of at least 5-7 leaves look better.

At the base of the finished palm leaves there should be a long stalk in order to assemble and securely fix the entire structure later.

Assembling a palm tree trunk from bottles

To get a tree trunk that looks like a natural tree, you will need almost the entire bottle, except for the bottom itself.

From the bottom, almost to the very neck, longitudinal cuts are made on brown bottles, dividing the container into equal petals.

Only a small fragment of the bottom goes to waste

This is how the finished part of the future palm trunk from bottles looks like.

The assembly is carried out in the same way as the green leaves of the tree were collected. To secure a palm tree in an upright position, its trunk will need a strong, rigid core. It can be made from a metal bar of suitable length and diameter or a tube.

Assembling a palm tree from plastic bottles

Finished palm leaves are attached with glue or adhesive tape to the top of the tree so that they form a uniform, diverging crown on all sides.

This is what the top of the tree looks like.

The structure is quite heavy. Therefore, it is desirable to fix it with such a heavy base. If it is not possible to make a welded platform or suitable material, hard plastic or metal base stems are buried at least half a meter. Such a kind of "root" in the pit is strengthened brick chips and compacted after filling with soil. Large trees are better to be concreted.

One of the options for making palm trees from bottles - video

A palm tree is considered a symbol of summer and relaxation. But most people do not have enough to visit near a living palm tree. Money. Therefore, you can combine business with pleasure and make such a decoration for your garden as a palm tree from plastic bottles with your own hands.

Original decor

For this we need:

  • Plastic bottles 15 pieces of brown color, with a capacity of 2.5 liters - for the barrel;
  • Plastic bottles of 10 pieces of green color, with a capacity of 2 liters - for leaves;
  • Any wires with a diameter of 12 mm for fastening;
  • Metal sheet 0.5 cm thick;
  • Two iron rods 25 cm long;
  • Metal tubes 20 mm thick.

How to make a palm tree from plastic bottles, we will tell you step by step in an easy master class.

Cut leaves for palm trees. We take a plastic green bottle and cut it into two equal parts. We need the top one.

We cut the upper part of the bottle lengthwise into strips 3 mm thick.

Please note that the shape of the bottle itself is not so important when making a palm tree.

Thus, we make all the green bottles that are available. We fix the prepared parts on the wire and connect them together. Such a preparation should not be alone.

We proceed to the manufacture of the trunk. For this we take brown bottles. We make cuts along the bottles. Most importantly, they must be wide. And cut out the bottom, as shown in the photo.

Next, we carry out welding work. For this we take a metal sheet and weld two iron rods to it as follows: the first rod at an angle of ninety degrees, and the second rod at about an angle of 60-70 degrees.

It is necessary to put metal tubes on the welded rods. The height that you want to make a palm tree.

We weld metal bushings at the end of the rod. They are necessary in order to fix the leaves made there.

We attach the leaves to the metal pipe. It is better to bend them so that it looks more like a palm tree.

The leaves have been collected, now we move on to the trunk itself.

The main points in the manufacture of leaves for palm trees:

  • If you want your palm tree to have wide leaves, then for this you must first cut off the bottoms of the bottle. Next, we cut it into three parts. Can also be used yellow bottles, or both colors. So the palm tree will be more expressive and bright. The most important thing is to cut almost to the end of the bottle, you can literally leave half a centimeter;
  • Using scissors, round the leaves to the base;
  • Next, we make a fringe on the cut strips. Thus, we do on both sides of the sheet. The middle of the sheet should be about one and a half centimeters. To make your palm tree more magnificent, you need to bend the fringe with scissors in the following order: one cut up and the second down.

The main points in the manufacture of a palm tree trunk:

  • Cut off the bottom of the bottles;
  • We retreat half a centimeter from the lid and cut out eight petals;
  • We turn each of them in the opposite direction;
  • To save material, you can use the cut off part. Only in order to fix it, you have to make a hole in it.

Key points to consider when assembling a palm tree:

As a barrel, it is best to use a metal-plastic pipe. And the most the best choice diameter is 20 mm. You choose the height you want.

It is best to collect the palm tree itself from below. The higher the palm, the less detail the trunk should be, that is, for the bottom it is best to use the largest blanks. The method is the simplest and not complicated - a glass in a glass. It would be better if their arrangement is staggered.

The bottom itself is best fixed on glue "Moment" , so it will be most reliable. Approximately 30 cm before the top of the stem, it is necessary to complete the assembly of the stem and continue to fix the leaves. It is also recommended to use a checkerboard pattern.

Once you have collected all the palm, it is necessary to bury the welded reinforcement in the ground to a depth of thirty centimeters. Then we put the finished palm tree on the armature.

table palm

For its manufacture we need:

  • Bottles with a capacity of 1.0 liters of brown color - 3 pieces;
  • A bottle with a capacity of 0.6 liters of green color - 1 piece;
  • Stationery scissors;
  • Glue "Moment".

Let's get started, here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. We cut each of the brown bottles into four parts, it is desirable that they be the same. In each of the parts we make cuts in the form of triangles. The size of which will be approximately one centimeter;
  2. Carefully bend the resulting triangles;
  3. We take a green bottle and divide it into three parts. We cut each part in the form of triangles. The part with the neck will be the largest of all;
  4. We assemble palm trees. We assemble the trunk: first the bottom itself, then all the other parts. When assembling, all parts must be glued. We make the leaves as follows, first insert the most most of with a throat, then the middle part, and attach the bottom to the very top.

Palm is ready!

A simple and inexpensive way to update the area near the house or on the playground can be making crafts from ordinary plastic bottles. It will take a little time and imagination, and you can create from this universal material all that is enough imagination. You can, for example, make a banana tree. And to make it clear to you how to do this, we created a master class on a palm tree from plastic bottles that are unnecessary in the household quickly and simply with our own hands, it contains a detailed step by step instructions and photo and video lessons.

Such a tree will serve wonderful decoration holiday for children or a theme party. The more plastic bottles you take to create one palm tree, the taller and more magnificent it will turn out.

We make a palm tree from plastic bottles with our own hands in stages

To create a palm tree we need the following materials:

  1. Plastic bottles different sizes and flowers
  2. Scissors
  3. Scotch
  4. The basis for the future palm tree. Usually take a metal rod.
  5. Frame for the future palm thick wire or metal pipe.
  6. Styrofoam or artificial bananas
  7. yellow paint
  8. Wire
Making a palm tree trunk:

1) In order to make a palm tree trunk, you need to take brown bottles of 1.5 liters 2 and 2.5. First you need to cut the bottle from the side of the neck by about a third. You will need the upper part, but do not rush to throw away the lower part - you can also make a trunk out of it by analogy.

2) Cut the bottom of each bottle with a heated knife. We will attach the frame of our palm tree to this cut.

it is necessary to cut into 8 equal parts that part of the bottle that has a neck. It is necessary to cut from the wide edge to the narrow one.

Now we need to make these parts of a pointed shape so that it looks like a petal.

3) We bend the resulting petals on outside- it will look like a blossoming flower.

palm leaves:

1) To have our banana tree leaves appeared, you need to take bottles of green color (preferably different shades), white and yellow. The more colors you use, the brighter the palm tree will look.

2) Cut off the edge of the neck and the base of the bottle. We cut the resulting blank from the bottom of the bottle towards the narrow part into 3 approximately equal parts, but not completely. Approximately 3 cm should remain until the end of the bottle. We give the edges of each part the shape of a narrowed semicircular petal. we begin to gently bend these petals outward in the same way as we did the trunk of a palm tree. Get something remotely resembling a three-blade fan. Now we cut each resulting sheet from the edge to the middle. In the middle, you need to leave a little uncut space - about 2 cm. It turns out like a fringe. The narrower the strips in width you make, the more magnificent the fringe will turn out, and hence the foliage of our palm tree.

3) Now the fringe strips need to be bent in different directions. 1-bend up, 2- leave as is, 3 - down. So the sheet becomes voluminous.

4) There are 2 ways to decorate the leaves. In the first case, we leave our blanks as they are, and in the second, the blanks need to be strung on a flexible wire to make long voluminous branches. In the second case, more bottles will be needed, but the palm tree will also acquire a luxurious crown.

Palm top.

We take a bottle of dark brown color and cut it like a blank into leaves - from top to bottom into thin strips. We collect the segments and wrap them inside.

Palm tree decoration.

We cut blanks for bananas from foam plastic and paint them with yellow paint and carefully pass a thin wire through the upper part.

We collect palm trees:

1) We take a palm tree frame prepared in advance. It can be a thick wire or a metal pipe. And we begin to put the finished blanks of the barrel on the frame with the neck down. We are the first to put on larger blanks and begin to compose the details as a designer. We make up until about 30 cm is left to the edge. Try to arrange the petals of each part in a checkerboard pattern. We fix the parts at the base with glue or tape.

2) Depending on which leaves you prefer to make, there are 2 ways of attaching 1-On the remaining empty upper part of the trunk, we begin to attach palm branches. This is done in the same way as the trunk was assembled. Don't forget to use details different colors and arrange the leaves in a checkerboard pattern. 2 - we attach the cable with the leaves strung on it to the frame of the palm tree to the very top and fix each sheet with tape.

3) Install the crown - glue the workpiece to the edge of the frame with the neck down.

4) We tie artificial bananas to palm branches

To fix our palm tree, we stick a metal pin about 30 cm deeper into the ground for stability (if desired, you can fill it with concrete), but so that at least 40 cm sticks out of the ground - to string the trunk and put our palm tree on top.

Now our plastic bottle palm tree is ready.
