Platoons. Starting with Update 9.18, artillery could not be taken to a platoon. This limitation was temporary, we introduced it in order to better understand the global changes in the SPG class: to study the impact of the updated artillery on battles and collect your feedback. There were a lot of comments - we analyzed them and the collected statistics and returned the ability to play in a platoon for the SPG, limiting the number of artillery to one vehicle per platoon.

Balance within one level in the team roster. Prior to 9.18, players often complained about the balancer collecting teams with significant differences. We decided to deal with this problem step by step, because it cannot be solved at once. In version 9.18, the number of poorly balanced teams became much smaller, due to the fact that tank destroyers were taken into account when collecting teams. Most players commented positively on the maximum difference between teams in one vehicle for SPGs, light tanks and tank destroyers.

However, this was not enough to finally resolve the issue with the balancer. For example, a Tier X LT in one team was balanced by a Tier VIII light tank in another, and the teams found themselves in unequal conditions.

In Update 9.19.1, this problem will be resolved: we have added new logic for balancing the composition of teams by vehicle type and platoon type within each vehicle tier. Each time, creating a battle, the balancer will strive for the same number of tank destroyers, light tanks, self-propelled guns and platoons for each level. For example, if one of the teams at the top of the list has one tank destroyer, in the middle of the list there are two light tanks, and at the bottom of the list there is one self-propelled gun, then the enemy's team should be divided into vehicle classes in the same way. However, if this vehicle selection takes too long, the restrictions will be relaxed to send players into battle faster.

Sorting equipment in the "team ears"A "cosmetic" change that will not affect the gameplay, but which will make it easier for you to navigate the battle and plan your own actions before it starts. You will be able to quickly analyze the composition of your own and the enemy team and plan actions at the beginning of the battle. The list starts with heavy tanks. "Training ground"

In the next versions, new training functionality will be added, which we will introduce in several stages, starting with update 9.19.1. In this version, the "Training Ground" will be available. We plan to introduce other additional teaching elements later.

The first stage of the tutorial introduces beginners to the basic mechanics of playing in a series of four tutorials. They explain the basics of the game and tactics for different maps and situations in battle in the form of hints. To make the process go smoothly, the "Training Ground" gradually acquaints players with the hangar interface.

At the same time, the player is shown a clear sequence of actions when preparing the vehicle for battle. First, he learns the basics: studying and buying vehicle modules, controlling vehicles, shooting, types of ammunition, inflicting critical damage, training the crew, operating equipment and consumables. Throughout the entire learning process, the user receives detailed information about the elements that are most relevant at the current stage.

The tutorial ends with the final task - a full-scale 15v15 battle, in which the player, together with 14 bots, confronts an enemy team of 15 bots. These are not ordinary bots - we have worked much deeper into their logic.

Combat Training isn't just about training, players will also receive credits, experience, equipment, gear, and Premium Account days. Upon completion of the training, new users will receive 500 - this is enough, for example, for multiple dismantling of equipment.

Changes to the conditions of the LBZ

In Update 9.19.1, the conditions of some personal combat missions will change. After the improved balancer was introduced, it became much more difficult to implement them. We took your feedback into account and changed the terms to reflect the current reality of the game. Thank you for your help!

Finally, update 9.19.1 will add 13 new models, redesigned in HD quality:

Platoons: 9.18 stopped SPGs from forming and joining Platoons. This limitation was a temporary measure designed to help us better measure the impact of comprehensive SPG changes. In the weeks since the launch of 9.18, we "ve heard a tremendous amount of feedback on this particular change. Having analyzed the data, we are returning SPGs to Platoons with a maximum limit of one per Platoon.

Vehicle types: Teams that were vastly different in vehicle composition used to be among the matchmaker’s most critical issues, which couldn’t all be resolved at once. We're fixing this in steps. Update 9.18 significantly lowered the number of poorly balanced teams by adding tank destroyers to the list of factors the system considers when assembling two teams. Most feedback said it worked just fine, with the difference in the number of artillery, light tanks and tank destroyers going down to one vehicle at most.

However, it wasn’t enough to resolve the issue altogether. For example, a team with a scout at Tier X would be matched against one with a scout at Tier VIII, which could hardly be considered a fair situation. 9.19.1 ends this by introducing another new bit of logic that balances team makeups by vehicles types and Platoons within a tier. Every time the matchmaker creates a battle it’ll ensure both sides have a similar number of TDs, LTs, and arty on each battle tier. Let’s say, there’s a team with a TD at the top, two scouts in the middle, and an arty at the bottom. The matchmaker tries to mirror these when assembling an opposing team. Like always, if finding an exact match could leave you waiting, it loosens the rules to get you into a battle quickly.

Team lists are being restructured to help you get a better read of the battle, analyze the opposition and plan your tactics. Vehicles are listed beginning with heavy tanks. Right below them you’ll see medium tanks, followed by tank destroyers, light tanks, all the way down to arty. Vehicles belonging to the same class are sorted by name. Those that begin with numbers come first, followed by the Latin alphabet, and then finally vehicles named in Cyrillic at the bottom.

Boot Camp

The upcoming updates will mark the introduction of a new onboarding experience, which will deploy in several stages, beginning with 9.19.1. In it, we give you Boot Camp. Down the road, we're planning to continue evolving the experience with more new training elements.

This first stage of onboarding invites newcomers to explore the game’s core mechanics by playing a series of four battles, complete with tips that explain gameplay basics and tactics using different maps and scenarios. To create a smooth learning curve, Boot Camp introduces the complex Garage interface step by step.

The course guides you through the Garage one function at a time, establishing a clear path first-time tankers should follow to get battle-ready. First, you explore the absolute essentials: purchasing and upgrading a vehicle, driving, shooting, armor types, dealing with critical hits, Crew training, vehicle upgrades, and consumables. Throughout the process, you get detailed information on the elements most relevant to your current stage.

The training ends in a final challenge: a full-scale 15v15 battle where you, alongside 14 bots, fight a team of 15 AI units. And these aren’t your regular World of Tanks bots. We developed a much more advanced AI for Boot Camp.

The onboarding experience is not just learning: you’re earning Credits, XP, equipment, consumables, and Premium Account time along the way. This will help you hit the ground running and get your hands on your first ever Tier X vehicle, fully equipped and with the skillset necessary to succeed.

Boot Camp is available to new and experienced tankers alike. However, only newcomers get to keep resources they earned while learning.

Changes to Personal Missions

Update 9.19.1 rolls out a set of revised Personal Missions. Their difficulty level went up after the introduction of the improved matchmaker. The team went over your feedback and adjusted mission conditions to better reflect the current state of the game. Thanks for bringing the issue up and helping us fix it!

  • First Periphery: 12:00 UTC + 8 (04:00 UTC) daily. Average Duration: ~ 25 minutes

  • Central Database: 17:00 UTC + 8 (09:00 UTC) daily. Average duration: ~ 2 minutes

The test server in World of Tanks 1.6.1 is a regular server where new maps, features, tanks and other game innovations are tested. It is impossible to get to the WOT test server when the player wants it - it opens only at a certain time, when the game developers need it.

What is a test server and why is it needed?

Test server - this is the repository where the copy is stored and reproduced, but with some changes. Of course, before you make any changes to the game, you first need to test them.
The first to see the changes are the WOT development staff, after which they give access to super-testers. If there are flaws, then they are corrected and the version of the new client is tested already under load. They upload a test version of the client to the backup server and open access to everyone. Once again, the development staff is looking for bugs and shortcomings. After that, they fix and "roll out" a new version of the client.

How to get to the WOT test server

To get to the test server, you need to download a special installer 1.6.1 or install Wargaming Game Center. Then run it. He will offer to download a test client - download it and install it. Next, a folder will be created World_of_Tanks_CT (in the directory where the player specified during installation).

Everything is ready to go! We click on the shortcut of the test client and get to the login and login page. We go under our nickname and password, and choose one of the two test servers.

Multinationality


The picture above shows the first multinational T-34-85 Rudy tank, which will be added to all testers in the hangar.
