DIY sandblasting chamber drawings. How to assemble a sandblaster at home

Very often there are calls from Clients asking how to make a sandblasting chamber by yourself.

It all starts with the fact that there is an order for large products that either do not fit into a manual sandblasting chamber, or there are a lot of them and it is necessary to save on material.

Another one of important factors- ecology. If you work under a canopy, then the dust cloud will inevitably fly in the direction of the wind to neighboring areas. In such devices, this can be avoided by using a ventilation system.

1. Do-it-yourself manufacturing should be started with a sandblaster. Here it is worth paying attention to the modernization.

In most cases, the equipment sold on the market is equipped with an abrasive shutter designed to work with light abrasives (sand, copper slag, nickel slag, etc.). If the shutter is not intended for use with shot, then it is necessary to purchase it separately and attach it to the sandblasting unit.

6. The floor inside the sandblasting chamber must be barred. When working as an abrasive, in most cases, metal beads are used. If the floor is flat, the operator will slip on the abrasive and cause an accident. It is also inconvenient to make the bottom grooved. It is best to cover the floor with lifting grates, under which there will be a depression for collecting waste material.

7. The ventilation inside the product is done for two purposes. The first is creating a vacuum inside the sandblasting chamber in order to compressed air entering the nozzle did not break out. The second is to provide visibility to the worker during production.

I would also like to talk a little about the location of the supply air diffusers. exhaust ventilation... The inflow is made by gravity, located either above the loading gate, or directly into them from above. Exhaust is done on the opposite side of the inflow, from below, as a rule, across the entire width of the equipment.

The semi-automatic process is that only part of it is automated. In most cases, after hitting the surface to be cleaned, the material falls to the floor and sifted through the grating, into the pits. There it is collected and periodically retrieved manually. It is either raked by hand scrapers into the central pit, or collected by pneumatic transport. It is a device that creates a vacuum and sucks the shot through the sleeves into the separator. The operator periodically has to stop the cleaning process and collect material from the pits. The cost of such a system will cost from 250 to 500 thousand rubles, depending on performance.

9. Shot-blasting equipment should be located in a room with a positive temperature, because condensation forms inside. It is not recommended to create a shot blasting machine inside the sandblasting chamber itself, because it can fail.

The exhaust ventilation cyclone can be made outdoors, outside the premises. If a filter ventilation machine is used, then it must be placed indoors. Moreover, it allows you to save on heating in winter period since the cleaned air is fed back to the industrial premises.

10. Among other things, the operator must wear protective equipment. The use of gas masks or "petal" respirators is contraindicated. They will not protect the worker from being hit by a ricochet shot. What you should pay attention to? First, the sandblaster's helmet must have a compressed air supply for the operator to breathe. You must have a stock of replacement glasses. The jumpsuit must be sufficiently tight. The air supplied under the helmet must be cleaned through a special filter. Among other things, the employee must have gloves and industrial shoes with metal tips.

  1. Select the correct blasting machine. It must be equipped with a metal shot shutter and pneumatic valve. remote control.
  2. The body must be optimal sizes allowing you to freely produce cleaning works around the part.
  3. The sandblasting chamber must be lined from the inside.
  4. In addition to the loading gate, an emergency exit must also be provided.
  5. It is better to place the lighting inside the equipment outside by cutting holes in the housing for the fixtures. You also need to take care of local lighting.
  6. The floor inside should be covered with gratings.
  7. There must be an exhaust ventilation in the chamber.
  8. It is necessary to be equipped with a shot separation system.
  9. Do not forget about the means of protection of the sandblaster.

The need for effective surface cleaning various products before painting them, suggests the idea of purchasing or making a sandblasting chamber with your own hands. These devices, different in size and purpose, will be quite appropriate both in car service stations and in household.

Camera types

The sandblasting chamber can be local or volumetric (habitable). Local cameras are designed for processing small items. Habitable chambers have a large internal volume, where you can place, for example, the body of a car. When working, the operator is inside such a chamber, so he will need a set of certain protective accessories - a helmet, goggles, gloves for sandblasting, etc. However, it is also possible to remotely control the process of such cleaning (more on this later).

In local chambers, sandblasting is carried out by creating a reduced air pressure inside the working space. Under conditions of such artificial rarefaction, due to the pressure difference, a sand jet is ejected from the nozzle with the required speed and pressure. By moving the nozzle tip along a certain trajectory, the operator performs the surface treatment of the workpiece. Naturally, in such ejection chambers it is easy to clean small items.

Benefits of local cameras:

  1. Compactness.
  2. Small financial and material costs for self-production.
  3. Increased worker safety, and environment.
  4. Reduced energy costs as low suction compressor power is required.
  5. Convenience and ease of reclaiming sand for reuse.

Habitable cameras solve larger problems. Their volume must be very accurately calculated in order not only to freely position the object to be cleaned inside, and to provide places for the worker to move, but also to ensure the necessary air exchange. Inhabited sandblasting chambers operate on the injection principle working mixture, and therefore are called pressure. Their performance is several times higher than the same parameter for ejector-type chambers. Accordingly, energy costs also increase (a much more powerful compressor is required), and the consumption of sand and its losses increase. The problem is also the disposal of sand contaminated with cleaning products, which, in turn, requires the availability of effective filter systems.

Buy or make a homemade sandblasting chamber?

For a habitable sandblasting chamber, the answer is no: too much has to be taken into account in the design and manufacture of the installation. Moreover, the profile sector of the market abounds in various proposals adapted to the desired performance and the final energy consumption. For example, the price of an inhabited pressure-type sandblasting chamber, coordinated with the individual requirements of the customer, starts from 1.8 ... 2.0 million rubles.

The set of such equipment includes:

  1. Body (it can be made of profiled steel or sandwich panels).
  2. A sluice equipped with swing double-leaf gates (in passage-type chambers, there is a similar unit on the opposite side).
  3. Lattice flooring, at the bottom of which there are systems for collecting waste sand based on pneumatic suction.
  4. Ventilation system, calculated for a certain air exchange.
  5. Control and lighting systems for the work area.
  6. One or more blast cleaning stations.
  7. Protective equipment for workers.

Usually, the standard equipment also includes systems for mechanized opening of the sluice and gates, additional side doors in the walls of the hull, rail tracks with a trolley (for objects that cannot move independently), etc.

Wiring diagram for remote control of a pressure-type sandblasting chamber

Manufacturers rarely provide such an option, considering that it is rarely used in habitable cameras. Meanwhile, in a service station, where several similar works can be performed simultaneously, an operator is required for each camera. Performance sandblasting objects of the same type can be significantly increased by providing a remote shutdown system for volumetric cameras power plants- compressor, fans, waste collection conveyor, etc.

A set of such a remote control takes into account all the typical operations that are required for the normal functioning of pressure-type sandblasting plants. It consists of the following elements:

  • inlet valve;
  • exhaust valve;
  • an electronic control unit providing some protection functions for the treatment area;
  • battery(Battery) from any car.

The remote control circuit is mounted on the basis of a pneumatic drive. To trigger this circuit, the worker presses the remote control button, whereupon the airflow from the compressor opens the inlet valve while simultaneously closing the outlet valve. As a result, inside the pressure chamber, overpressure sufficient for sandblasting. The control relay has one normally closed and one normally open contact, which ensures fast (no more than 1 ... 1.5 s) actuation of the electrical circuit elements for the sandblasting chamber.

When the pressure is released, the relay switches off the control drive of the sandblasting stations. Further, if desired, the circuit can be connected to the controls for opening the gates and gateways of the camera.

DIY sandblasting chamber

The complexity of work on the manufacture of an ejector-type sandblasting chamber is significantly less. Initially developed technical task(what, in what volume, and by what technology will be cleaned). Further, the installation drawings, which can be used to judge functionality cameras. The dimensions indicated on the drawing must correspond to the free space in the workshop where the sandblasting chamber will be installed.

Given the power of the available compressor (and it usually does not exceed 6 ... 8 kW), the volume interior space cameras should not exceed (width × depth × height) 800 × 500 × 500 mm, while the front panel is usually provided with a bevel at an angle of 45 °, for ease of operation. The front panel (made of transparent impact-resistant plastic) should have one or two holes for handling the sandblasting gun. The body is sheathed from the inside with technical rubber, and a lattice floor or a sliding tray with a branch pipe for collecting the spent mixture is arranged in its bottom part.

  1. Obligation of the waste separation system (it is present in pressure-type chambers with an air exchange of more than 8000 ... 9000 m3 / h).
  2. Power ventilation units(calculated on the basis that the performance of sandblasting should be 4 ... 4.5 times less than the performance of the fans).
  3. The presence of a cyclone for collecting particularly fine fractions of abrasive or sand.
  4. Is there a unit for automatic cleaning of pipelines in the design (by the way, they should not be made of plastic: this material can change its characteristics depending on temperature, which negatively affects the values of pneumatic resistances and the actual performance of the installation).
  5. Materials adopted for wall cladding (the higher their elastic characteristics, the more efficient cleaning is carried out).
  6. Availability of useful additional options (trolley, rail track, etc.).

The price of the basic set of a pressure-type sandblasting chamber should also take into account the availability of several sets of gloves for the sandblasting chamber, protective masks, helmets, overalls and footwear for operators.

Processing with pressure directed sand or other free-flowing abrasive materials allows you to clean metal surfaces from rust and paint traces, remove roughness, and give a matte finish to glass or transparent plastic. It is carried out in a sandblasting chamber. All of their varieties can be divided into two broad categories: inhabited and uninhabited.

Habitable camera and its features

The inhabited sandblasting chamber is used in industry for processing large parts, for cleaning the car body from corrosion, for preparing for painting and for solving other large-scale tasks.

It is called inhabited because the operator controls the entire sanding process. The object to be processed is placed in the chamber. The sandblaster itself is usually located outside of it. Only its nozzle is located in the chamber, through which the abrasive is supplied, directed by the operator.

The sand is directed under high pressure, and particles of the grinded material are also scattered in the air. Therefore, ventilation is an indispensable condition for an inhabited cell. Also, to keep the operator safe, the following protection kit is required:

  • protective overalls;
  • mask;
  • gloves;
  • closed shoes.

Only trained specialists who know all the features are allowed to work, as well as those who have been instructed in safety precautions. Compliance with the latter while working with a sandblasting machine is an essential condition, because otherwise you can get serious injuries.

The dimensions of the inhabited chamber vary from dimensions small garage to the middle hangar. How larger area premises, the more products can be processed at a time. Large chambers can accommodate multiple operators at the same time, increasing productivity.

Advantages and disadvantages of a habitable sandblasting chamber

Inhabited camera - great option for enterprises. Here are the benefits it has:

  • the ability to process products of any size;
  • the ability to process several products at the same time;
  • work under the strict control of a person;
  • joint work of several operators, if necessary.

In the automotive industry, for example, such equipment is irreplaceable. However, habitable cameras are only suitable for businesses. No one will equip an entire room at home for sanding. Small businesses are also more likely to opt for compact uninhabited cameras. In addition, an inhabited cell is much more traumatic than an uninhabited one. Both are her shortcomings.

Uninhabited camera and its features

The uninhabited sandblasting chamber is a compact box with legs. It has openings for hands and the introduction of the nozzle of the apparatus, as well as a viewing window for monitoring the work.

Uninhabited cameras can be divided into the following categories:

  • ejector;
  • pressure head;
  • automatic.

In addition, the devices differ in the configuration. For example, the Nordberg camera is distributed in different configurations.

Ejector chambers: device, advantages and disadvantages

Ejector-type sandblasting chambers have low power. They are used for small, simple work on compact parts. With their help, you can give a matte finish to glass and plastic, remove a layer of paint from a small area, make an engraving, remove shallow foci of corrosion from metal or roughness.

Suitable for use in small businesses or for private use. It has the following advantages:

  • compactness;
  • low price;
  • safety for the operator;
  • consumption of less power.

The installation used in such a chamber requires a 7.5-15 kW compressor, and compressed air will consume up to 1500 l / min.

The disadvantage of the ejector installation will be the impossibility of carrying out large-scale work. Small size and power make it practically inapplicable in large industry.

KSO ejector chambers are popular with private individuals.

Pressure chambers: device, advantages and disadvantages

A pressurized sandblasting chamber is much more powerful and efficient (on average - 10 times) than an ejector one, therefore it has found its application in industry for solving larger-scale problems. Pressure equipment consumes up to 5000 l / min of compressed air, therefore it requires a more powerful compressor - up to 37 kW.

Such a sandblasting chamber is most often used for metal, in the field of metalworking for post-welding cleaning, removing corrosion, imparting varying degrees roughness.

The advantages of this setup:

  • the ability to solve problems of medium scale;
  • high power and performance;
  • safety for the operator.

However, this is practically not suitable for small, "jewelry" work. This variety includes, for example, the Forsage camera.

Automatic cameras: device, advantages and disadvantages

Automatic sandblasting chamber is most often used for processing glass and mirror surfaces for the purpose of matting them or creating drawings.

The essence of the installation is that the operator controls all work remotely through the panel. Inside the chamber, movable carriages are installed, on which a pistol (or several) is fixed, through which a jet of abrasive is supplied. By changing the step of movement, air pressure, abrasive fraction, you can create various patterns and textures.

Advantages of an automatic camera:

  • the possibility of remote control;
  • absolute safety for the operator;
  • carrying out especially delicate works.

For more rough and large-scale work, such cameras are practically not used.

How to choose a sandblasting chamber?

How to make right choice and which sandblasting chamber to buy - such a question arises when opening a business related to the processing of metals, glass and other surfaces.

First you need to decide what kind of work the camera will be used for. Its type depends on it - inhabited or uninhabited, size, type, compressor power. The latter is especially important, because the cost of the entire installation largely depends on this indicator.

Also, the cost is influenced by the ability (or lack thereof) to use other abrasive materials in addition to sand and the availability of a set of replaceable nozzles. Shot, fused alumina, copper slag, silicon carbide, organic and plastic materials are used.

It is important to take into account when choosing a complete set - this also adds up to the price of a sandblasting chamber.

  1. The simplest is ejector or pressure without a ventilation system and abrasive recovery - that is, cleaning it from small particles of metal, glass, etc., to be reused for sandblasting. It can be used only if there is powerful factory ventilation throughout the room, and even then infrequently. In this case, the spent abrasive, together with the removed particles of material, is poured into a special tray, which is manually cleaned.
  2. A sandblasting chamber with a fan and a filter, without abrasive recovery is used for small volumes of work and in the absence of factory ventilation. It is used, in principle, for the same as the simplest one.
  3. The complete set includes everything you need to work. There is no need for an additional hood or anything else, because all this is already there. All that remains is to connect compressed air and electricity and get to work.
  4. Chamber with abrasive recovery system. This is a rather expensive piece of equipment, but it allows you to reuse the used abrasive repeatedly, cleaning it. Ultimately, this reduces the additional costs of purchasing the abrasive and brings benefits.

In addition, additional options and equipment can be used: a rotary table for all-round grinding of parts, additional side openings for long parts, rubber sheets for interior decoration cameras and noise isolation and the like.

The device is fully equipped and with additional options will cost much more than the simplest camera, however, and headaches during its use will be much less. A well-equipped used sandblasting chamber will help save money. And if it is difficult to make a choice for the first time, you should consult with an experienced specialist.

Sandblasting chamber: do it yourself

So how to make a sandblasting chamber with your own hands for experienced master- not a problem, this is a great way not only to save money, but also to get equipment that is optimal in all respects to its owner.

Such a "home" camera is a small box, upholstered from the inside with metal plates, which can be placed in a workshop, garage, etc. utility room... Its dimensions depend on the area of the room and the size of those parts that are planned to be processed on it. Do not make it too big. This will help to avoid wide spread and ricochet of sand from the walls.

In addition to the box itself, you will need:

  • a tray for sand, from where it will go to the processing area;
  • compressor;
  • nozzle through which the abrasive is supplied;
  • nozzle control gun;
  • faucet to regulate the flow of sand;
  • fastening and sealing elements.

Work gloves are also required, hermetically attached to the openings inside the box, and a glass viewing window. It is worth choosing glass for a sandblasting camera that is resistant to scratches and damage, otherwise it will quickly deteriorate.

An essential condition is a ventilation system. Often, when equipping it with your own hands, a Cyclone is used for a sandblasting chamber. In no case should you use the camera without a hood and ventilation at home. It is also necessary to use protective clothing and a mask - just as in the workplace.

In order for a homemade camera to turn out as it should, it is worth calculating and compiling everything in advance detailed drawing taking into account even small details.

The sandblasting chamber is an integral part of many types of production, including home production. From huge industrial hangars that handle cars to small tabletop models, this setup can be tailored for any situation. Whatever it is, in any case, it will greatly facilitate work and make work faster, more comfortable and more productive.

Making a camera for blasting small parts do it yourself.

Often during the manufacturing process, the next homemade brain-constructor it is necessary to clean the parts of complex shape from rust, make the glass frosted, prepare the surfaces of the parts for welding. All these tasks are excellently performed sandblasting machine, but its use requires a special premises, protective suit and powerful compressor.

Technology is devoid of all these shortcomings. blasting... It does not carry out surface treatment sand and special abrasives based corundum with a smaller particle diameter and at a lower pressure.

To use this technology in an ordinary room, you need special cameras, one of the options is cameras of things bought in the usual hardware store we do it.

Step 1: materials and tools

We will need:

Transparent storage container with a volume of 3 0 liters, with a tight-fitting lid;
- piece plexiglass 3 mm thick to fit the lid of our container;
- thick rubber gloves elbow-long;
cuffs diameter 150 mm;
- plastic plumbing fitting with a diameter of 100 mm;
- air filter- can be used liner from an industrial respirator;
- spiral hose high pressure from the compressor;
- sandblasting tip;
- phytin d with a ball valve for use in pneumatic systems;
- silicone, liquid nails, seals, hardware, etc.
- electric jigsaw, drill, drill bits for wood and metal.

Step 2: assembling the camera

We fasten gloves

We mark on the side surface of the container hand holes... To do this, put plastic rings on it and circle them with a marker. contours... We cut out with a jigsaw inner holes and carefully remove the arisen burrs... We drill holes for screws fastening gloves. If necessary trim rings to give them round shape... Wrapping a bell gloves the ring we fix it in the hole with bolts and nuts... Sealing the resulting connection silicone.

We install the air supply and removal system

We mark and drill holes for pneumofitting and air removal. We screw in the fitting. Superglue a piece of plastic plumbing into the exhaust hole. fitting... From the inside of the container we install on it air filter we fix it with a clerical elastic band.

Making a viewing window

Cut a hole in the container lid and glue it into it plexiglass.

After testing, it turned out that for the convenience of using this homemade some improvements are needed:

- capacity for the manufacture of the camera should be as much as possible deep;
- diameter hand holes should be larger than the volume forearms;
- length gloves should be such that it does not occur on them harmonic;
-pneumatic hose should be as short as possible and as long as possible flexible;
- at the bottom of the container you need a small plastic ladder- particles of abrasive will accumulate under it and will not interfere with the work;
- plexiglass viewing window from the inside you need to paste over protective film- the abrasive spoils it.

ATTENTION! Always use a respirator only!

Seal all connections carefully.

Remember, particles of abrasive penetrating into the lungs cause incurable silicosis!

Step 4: things before and after blasting

Sandblasting allows you to quickly and efficiently clean surfaces from dirt, matte glass. The first type of operations is in great demand in small car repair shops and even private garages. The problem is that the kits on the market are expensive. In this case, for example, in the presence of home master there is a sufficiently efficient compressor. In this case, you can assemble a sandblaster with your own hands, using, literally, discarded items and parts that can be bought at any household goods store.

Do-it-yourself sandblasting can be assembled on the basis of two structural schemes that differ in the physics of feeding the abrasive material into the output path. However, they will have almost the same list of significant nodes.

  1. The compressor is the main air injection device.
  2. A receiver that can be made from a gas cylinder.
  3. A container for abrasive material of a sufficiently small volume, which is made of freon bottle or a fire extinguisher.
  4. A pistol, the main tool of the plant operator.
  5. Connecting hoses.

Important! To ensure long-term operation and stable parameters of the abrasive mixture, the device of the sandblaster must necessarily include a moisture separator. If a reciprocating compressor is used, it is recommended to install an oil filtration system in the air inlet path.

Any self-made sandblasting should form a flow of an air-abrasive mixture at the outlet. Wherein pressure circuit uses a pressure feed of abrasive into the outlet where it mixes with the air stream from the compressor. Household sandblasting machine ejector type uses the Bernoulli effect to create a vacuum in the abrasive intake path. The latter enters the mixing zone under the influence of the atmosphere.

Drawings and a diagram of a homemade sandblasting, according to which you can assemble the device at home, are of a huge variety. The reason is that artisans use whatever is at hand for their products. Therefore, it is reasonable to consider general principles, on which homemade sandblasting equipment is built.

What can you collect sandblasting from?

To understand how easy it is to make sandblasting with your own hands, it is enough to dwell on the features of the operation of each unit of the structure. In this case, the selection of available parts or finished products becomes apparent.

Important! The connection diagram of the moisture separating and oil catching devices depends on the specific product purchased for this purpose. However, most of the models on the market will only require a branch from a plumbing tee, on which the hose fittings are mounted.

Algorithm for making sandblasting from a gas cylinder or fire extinguisher

Most simple construction sandblasting, which you can do yourself, is a pressure-type installation. For its manufacture, you will need (the principles of selection and the purpose of the components are described above):

  • ball valves, 2 pcs;
  • freon cylinder, gas or fire extinguisher;
  • a piece of pipe to create a funnel for filling the abrasive into the chamber;
  • tees, 2 pcs;
  • hoses with inner diameters 10 and 14 mm for abrasive release and air supply from the compressor, respectively;
  • fittings and clamps for fastening hoses;
  • plumbing fum tape for connecting structural elements.

Sandblasting is taking place according to the following algorithm.

The assembly of the main structure is completed by welding on wheels or carrying handles. Will not interfere and support legs so that the sandblasting is not only mobile, but also sustainable.

  • on the cylinder valve, lower tee - fittings are installed;
  • a 14 mm air supply hose is located between the tee of the valve and the corresponding mixing unit at the bottom of the cylinder;
  • a compressor is connected to the remaining inlet of the valve tee with a fitting;
  • a hose for supplying the working mixture is fixed to the free outlet of the lower tee.

Advice! To ensure tightness, it is recommended to select a screw cap on the abrasive sand filling tube.

What to make a nozzle and a gun

A homemade sandblasting gun is also not difficult. It can be crafted using ball valve attachment installed at the end of the air-abrasive mixture supply hose. This outlet is a clamping nut that secures the abrasive ejection nozzle.

The last structural element - the nozzle - can be made of metal by turning the part on lathe... However, it is more reasonable make a nozzle from a spark plug... To do this, the old part is cut with a grinder, separating the durable ceramic post from metal elements designs and forming a suitable length.

Important! The process of separating the desired part of the candle is an inevitable formation huge amount dust and bad smell... Therefore, if you do not have the skills to work with a grinder and a workshop, it is recommended to buy a ceramic nozzle in a store.

It is worth highlighting: homemade constructions often perform better than the off-the-shelf sandblast pistol, available in many retail models. Therefore, it is wise to spend time creating your own solution, which does not require significant financial investments.

Alternative manufacturing methods

Lots of options homemade sandblasting driven by the needs of the owners and different available materials... You can make your own efficient installation using products designed for other jobs. For example, a high-pressure washer unit will help you to assemble a dust-free sandblaster with your own hands. Below are a few working and effective options homemade installations.

From a pressure washer

You can collect sandblasting from Karcher. This car wash creates high water pressure at low water consumption. To get an efficient, dust-free installation, all you need to do is assemble a special nozzle on the outlet tube... Would need:

  • Your own ceramic nozzle or a store-bought ceramic nozzle
  • reinforced hose;
  • mixing block, a tee with a suitable fit diameter will do;
  • feed adjustment unit, dispenser with cylindrical type;
  • a tube for abrasive intake, equipped with an air supply path to a closed container with sand or other material.
works on an ejector circuit... Water under high pressure, passing through the mixing block at high speed, creates a vacuum in the abrasive feed path. Sand comes in and out with high pressure fluid.

The water sandblasting of this design has some features.

  1. High flow rate with low water flow... This allows the installation to be used for glass, frosting or other processing.
  2. For stable feed an abrasive of even dispersion and a small fraction should be used. V living conditions small will do sifted river sand.

From a blow gun

Small and efficient - that's how you describe sandblasting with a blower gun. This device will allow with sufficient high efficiency carry out, for example, body work. However, performance depends entirely on the compressor used. To assemble the device you will need:

  • ready-made pneumatic blow gun;
  • plumbing tee;
  • ball valve for adjusting the supply of abrasive;
  • outlet nozzle with compression nut.

The design is not complicated. How to assemble it can be seen in the next photo.

As a container for abrasive it can be used as a light cylinder from powder fire extinguisher and plastic bottle.

Using a spray gun

You can create a homemade sandblast from a spray gun. For this you will need:

  • a mixing valve from a conventional spray gun;
  • a handle with a spray gun air supply mechanism;
  • bottle for abrasive mixture:
  • tee;
  • ball valve regulator.

Scheme of work finished device as follows:

To assemble the structure you will need:

  • pierce the gun of the spray gun to use the nozzle of the required dimensions;
  • attach a mixing tee to the gun;
  • install and secure the supply and circulation hoses.

Important! The start of the supply of sand or other abrasive from the container is carried out by simply pressing the trigger. The volume of the bottle is enough for processing small parts or surfaces for 20-30 minutes.

As a conclusion

So that homemade sandblasting does not become a problem and does not ruin the owner's health, do not neglect the simple safety rules... It is recommended to immediately remove dust from the processing area. A device for solving such a problem can be made from a vacuum cleaner. However, to achieve the maximum level of protection, it is imperative to work in a respirator, use for cleaning, grinding small parts an uninhabited sealed chamber.
