Historians believe that the first people appeared in Peru around the 15th century BC. It is generally accepted that the first people in Peru were nomadic hunter-gatherers who lived in caves. Where they came from in these places is unknown. However, the land of Peru was inhabited by peoples who created powerful civilizations, built architectural monuments that have survived to this day.

According to archaeologists, historians and other researchers of the history of civilizations of Peru, the most developed cultures on the territory of present-day Peru were:

Northwest of the city center of Cusco, at an altitude of 3500 m above sea level, there is a monumental complex of structures Sacsayhuaman, which in Quechua means "Grey stone-colored bird of prey." It was the military and religious center of the Inca Empire.

The center of the structure is the so-called "Throne of the Inca". It is surrounded by 21 bastions with powerful towers, each of which was able to shelter up to a thousand soldiers. And now, after this historical event, as many as 500 years have passed on Earth. During this time, the Spaniards, the Portuguese, the British brought cattle, horses, chickens to the northern and southern parts of America. They built settlements, forcibly converting enslaved peoples to Christianity, and those who resisted this process were completely destroyed. So, only in South America, during this period, more than 10 million Indians were exterminated by the Spaniards and the Portuguese, their cities and temples were destroyed. But the world of Indians and people of proto-civilization who lived here in the pre-Columbian period has remained a mystery to this day.

On the convex surface of these balls there were some signs and stripes, while they were wide and clearly visible, because they were illuminated from the inside. This spectacle shocked me not only with its beauty, but also with a special energy. And at this time, suddenly, one of the balls, flying over me, fell right on my knees, because I was sitting half-leaning on an emerald hill. With bated breath, I watched this ball slowly fall on my knees, and with great joy I hugged and began to kiss him with the words: “God, what grace, God, what grace…”

And one more circumstance: the ball that knelt down on my knees, when it was still floating above me, for some reason looked more like a UFO, and when it knelt down on my knees, it immediately increased several times in volume, and became less transparent, and on its sides I saw some convex embossed marks. At the same time, the ball vibrated and buzzed. Then, after a while, another ball fell towards me, but not on my knees, but at my feet, but it was larger and slightly elongated, in the form of a barrel, and also with signs all over its surface. These were signs, but at the same time, and mysterious writing. In 1533, Spain occupied Peru, and the supreme Inca Atahualpa was executed, despite the fabulous gold ransom received from the Indians for saving the life of their king. And after this murder, the Spanish conquistadors under the command of Francisco Pizarro, for several years of the war of conquest, brutally cracked down on the local Indians, killing more than 10 million people. It was truly a terrible, unjustified murder, because the Spaniards and the Portuguese, who landed on the soil of South America, killed the local Indians, as was said above, without even counting them as people.

Why did our path lie precisely in Peru and Bolivia?For there, according to the program of the subtle plan, there were five energy centers of Protocivilization: one planetary matrix, three clichés and one repeater of cosmic radiations and, what is very important, it is at the Ascension stage that these centers located in Peru and Bolivia create an active resonant field today for the Ascension of planet Earth. Having flown by plane from Moscow to Lima, with an intermediate landing in Amsterdam, 12 thousand kilometers and having been in the air for 14 hours, we, 10 Russians, arrived in Peru on the evening of June 29, 2009. The capital of Peru, Lima, is located on the Pacific Ocean, but our path lay in the ancient capital of the Inca state - the city of Cusco, because there was the first hidden place of our expedition - Sacsayhuaman. And so, after spending the night in a hotel, on the second day early in the morning, at 5 o'clock, already on June 30, we flew by plane from Lima airport to Cusco.

June and July are the winter months in the Southern Hemisphere and if there was warm temperature+20º, then at Cusco airport, which is located at an altitude of 3,400 meters, we were met by cold weather from -1º to +2º. So, having taken off from Lima in light attire, upon arrival in Cusco, we took out our winter sweaters and jackets. But at the airport of the ancient capital of Peru, we were greeted not only by cold weather, but also by the warm southern temperamental welcome of the ensemble of folk Indian instruments, which greeted us right at the gangway with their incendiary melodies. And we immediately felt like people of another planet - the planet of the ancient Incas.

But our very rich program did not imply a measured life. Having settled in a hotel located on the street of the Sun (this was already significant) and having tasted the invariable drink of Peruvians and Bolivians - coca tea in a cafe, we took a bus, led by a Russian-speaking guide Nina Carinyo, went on a tour of the ancient capital of the Incas - the city of Cusco. The ancient capital of Peru was built in the 10th century AD at an altitude of 3400 meters above sea level on a narrow plateau between the majestic Andes and the Cordillera mountain range. There was a new building on the streets, the city in its architecture was no different from provincial Spanish cities, since the ancient and rich city of Cusco was plundered and destroyed by the Spaniards in ancient times. They moved the capital of the conquered Peru to the Pacific coast, and here they built their city in the Spanish manner. Now 275 thousand people live in the city: representatives of the peoples of Quechua, Aymara and Spaniards. And, of course, in this new building, we first of all paid attention to the largest catholic church St. Francis, built by the Spaniards in the Baroque style in 1560-1564.

This place in the excursion program attracted us for two historical reasons. Firstly, this is the fact that the city's Catholic temple was built on the sacred site of the Inca temple - Caricancha. The fact is that gold among the Indians of Peru and Bolivia did not have a commodity value. According to their belief, when Viracocha, a white man with a beard, created the Earth and the Sun, in the place where the first rays of the Sun fell, ingots of gold were formed. And for this reason, they did not trade in gold, but trimmed the walls and columns of their temples with it, which were dedicated to the Sun. It was believed that gold is the concentration of heavenly light, so the Incas considered gold to be a luminiferous divine metal. And when the Spaniards, not recognizing the divine laws of the Incas, began to barbarously destroy the temples, stripping them of gold, the Incas realized that the aliens were not angels or messengers of their god Viracocha. Secondly, when the Spaniards built their 40-meter-high cathedral on the site of the destroyed Inca temple, they placed a gilded three-meter cross on the central altar, which had previously accompanied them in all campaigns in Peru and Bolivia during robberies and murders. For they, committing their savage acts, covered themselves with the laws of God and the holy crucifixion of Jesus Christ. And for this reason, they erected this victory cross in the cathedral.

At night, before visiting the Catholic Cathedral, an angel of heaven told me that it was necessary to pray for this desecrated cross, stained with the blood of millions of mortified people, so that the planetary symbol of Christianity would be freed from these negative energies and no longer hinder the Ascension process on Earth. For the negative energies of the suffering of millions of those who were killed and the crying of their fellow tribesmen, as well as the black energies of fanatics and executioners who performed their terrible deed in Peru and Bolivia, as well as on the lands North America, until now, like weights, hang on the body of the lands of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres and on the planet Earth as a whole, not allowing the Spirit of the planet to lead people to Transformation and Ascension.

Sacsayhuaman - a giant space relay

Having completed a further inspection of the city of Cusco according to the excursion program of the townsfolk, naturally, we significantly reduced it (We only had warm impressions of kind smiles and colorful, not at all masquerade, but everyday costumes of the inhabitants of Peru. I took Sacsayhuaman as a laboratory of space technologies for the people of the Protocivilization. (By the way, about the people of Protocivilization. So, we arrived in Sacsayhuaman, which lay on a high hill, hanging over the city of Cusco, seven kilometers from it. And what did we see? An amazing, grandiose building mystery: twenty, forty and hundred-ton blocks, as if poured, imprinted, lay on top of each other, representing the seven rings of the rainbow of heaven. We stood for a long time in a huge space, partitioned off by these great stepped walls, and were silent, because the thought was pressing on our consciousness that it was impossible for a person to create such a thing, not only today, but also in ancient times ...

And yet, the guide Nina began to introduce us (she is supposed to do this out of duty) into the understanding that the entire surveyed megalithic structure was created by the Incas in XV century AD during the time of the supreme Inca Pachacut. The Spaniards were of the same opinion. They, seeing this grandiose structure, mistook it for the deeds of the hands of the Incas. Without even thinking about the fact that the millionth army of Atahualpa bowed their heads before them, before 180 conquistadors. But these same Incas, at the same time, were able to build such a structure, the greatness of which did not fit in the minds of people. Yes, what are the Spaniards, sample 16th century, people of the 20th and 21st centuries, and they have not matured to a true understanding of the technologies that created this stone miracle only because the gene of admonition in their DNA has not yet been unlocked.

It was a sunny day and we lay down on the green-withered winter grass, surrounding our guide like chickens and listening to her... elementary particles of matter (similar to how they are going to do it now scientists of the world in France and Switzerland, where they are unsuccessfully trying to launch a hadron collider), but this was done on planet Earth already 20-40 thousand years ago by people of another civilization.

Sacsayhuaman is a generator of field energies. It dispersed the elementary particles of matter, radiated wave streams obtained here on the stone terraces of the earth's man-made rainbow, connecting them with the resonant fields of the Great Cosmos, and this was already a ray interplanetary road of the Universe. According to it, the people of the Protocivilization could freely communicate with any intergalactic objects of the Cosmos.

And this sacred secret was revealed to me at the moment when our guide Nina Corinho, pointing to a cloud that was floating above a stone colossus, suddenly said: “Look, a white man with a beard appeared on the cloud - Viracocha, and he, surprisingly, looks like Eugene Efimovich Berezikov. And after these words, I felt the hand of the deity depicted on the cloud fall on my head. And this luminous hand embraced me and blessed me. And the voice of the Angel of Heaven said, “In you, truly, hitherto unseen new galactic energy enters.” A member of our group, Roman, who photographed me at that moment with a digital camera, immediately showed everyone an amazing picture, in which a luminous beam descended from my head and a white-pearl stream, like a scarf, wrapping around my neck, calmly lay on my shoulders. At that time, from this touch of the luminous Viracocha on my shoulders, I experienced exactly the same sensation of a flow of unusual energies, as happened when a cosmic ball landed on my chest during a vision in Moscow.

We left the space fortress of Sacsayhuaman under the red-golden rays of the setting Sun and, standing on the high walls of the “hadron collider” of prehistoric times, we felt like happy children not only of the Earth, but also of the Cosmos.

Machu Picchu - the earth's capital of the Sun

Returning to the hotel in the evening from a trip around Cusco - to a stone miracle (which, by the way, the people of Protocivilization could well build by changing the structure of the material) and tasted in the restaurant, to the accompaniment of folk songs and dances, various, seasoned with spices and sea ​​salads Peruvian national food, we went to bed early, as we again had to go on a long journey at 4 o’clock in the morning, to the most mysterious and ancient city world - the sacred Machu Picchu, considered the Solar Capital of the Earth. And the very first thing that stands in the front row: an amazing impression of traveling through the high plateaus and canyons of the majestic Andes, a mountain range stretching ten thousand kilometers across the South American continent. So, at one of the moments of moving along a rocky road, we asked the driver to stop the bus, because we were shocked by the miraculous sunrise we saw. It, here in the mountains, like an orange giant disk shimmering with gold, slowly rose above almost seven kilometers in height. snow-capped peaks Andes. And all around, as far as the eyes could see, the entire expanse of the rocky plateau was filled with low clouds, creeping right under our feet, like a fiery river, saturated with the golden rays of the Sun. And there was a ringing silence, which was broken only by our faltering breathing. It was beautiful in the mountains, but there was not enough air. And yet, taking full lungs, as far as possible, mountain air, we continued on our way. Then the road, after several tens of kilometers of steep passes, led us to a high rocky cliff, where we again dismounted and saw the Urubamba River running along the bottom of a mountain canyon, which, after a few hundred kilometers, flows into the great Amazon. But now, behind the next turn and descent from the mountain plateau, we drove by bus to the tiny Oletentambo railway station. From this station, which lies 180 kilometers from Cuzco, a forty-kilometer narrow-gauge railway stretched to Machu Picchu, along the Urubamba River through the gorge, along which three small, like toy, trailers went. The track was difficult, and the wagons drove along it like a fabulous push-and-pull, climbing one level, then descending to another, and this forty-kilometer track was overcome in an hour and a half, which became a demonstration of a fantastic film for the passengers of the wagons: rocks flashed, jungle lianas and fall...

And then there was the final stop - the tiny railway station Machu Picchu, from which it was still necessary to travel about 30 kilometers on the mountain roads by bus, and only then it was possible to reach the foot of the mountain, where on a high rocky platform was the mysterious Machu Picchu, nicknamed the earthly capital of the Sun. Machu Picchu is a world sacred miracle, a mystery that has been troubling the minds of mankind for a whole century: who built it, when was it done and why? This mysterious city with its temples and more than two hundred buildings lies at an altitude of 2400 meters among four-kilometer peak-like mountain peaks rising in a circle, and the ninth peak was once cut by unknown technology and at a height of one and a half kilometers formed a platform on which stands the temple of the Sun and the solar hitching post - a processed stone finger, for which the Sun is tied. Therefore, Machu Picchu is considered the world capital of the Sun.

If humanity did not know about the existence of the Western Hemisphere, as they said, until 1492, until Columbus discovered America, or rather, the Lord God deigned to initiate people into the true structure of our globe, then the very existence of Machu Picchu on planet Earth was from humanity hidden for another 500 years. And only in June 1911, the American archaeologist Hiram Bengham, who reached these places along the gorge of the Urubamba River with a ten-year-old shepherd boy, was shown the ancient, spiritual capital of the Protocivilization people. And nature, its Spirit, as if knowing that we, Russians - prayer books, ascend to the center of its cosmic vibrations, greeted us, or, more precisely, gave us its symbolic sign - Blessing.

At the very foot of the cliff, when we, with our heads thrown back, admired its sheer wall and assessed how we were going to climb to its top, Pavel from Chelyabinsk, a member of our group, cried out: “Look! This is a sign of the sacred mountains for us! ”And we saw how in the blue of the sky, in the very place where the half-kilometer cut rock top was supposed to end, two graceful condors soared with their wings spread. The condor is a sacred bird of the entire Latin American continent: two meters in wingspan and a regal smooth flight - soaring. Seeing this scene, our guide Nina Corinho said: “I see such symbolism shown by the mountains to people for 13 years of excursions in these places only for the third time. You are lucky!"

Such a symbolic vision inspired us and, despite the steepness of the stone terrace, we successfully overcame this barrier in 40-50 minutes, and when we climbed the rocky platform, we were shocked by the panorama that opened up. Against the backdrop of the snowy Andes, which, like guardians, stood with their peaks over Machu Picchu and formed a giant bowl, in the center of it, like lotus petals, there are eight pyramidal rocks overgrown with vines and forests. The spectacle fascinated, the spirit was intercepted by such a never-before-seen creation of nature. And this amazing picture was completed by the man-made miracle of these ancient buildings: like an open sea shell with a pearl, stood, gleaming in the Sun, polished by mountain winds, a tall oval Temple of the Sun, the walls of which were lined with exactly the same monolithic stone blocks that we surveyed in Sacsayhuaman . And in this ancient temple The sun was visible to the obvious relationship of historical builders. They left here not only the temple, but also about two hundred structures, however, in these structures the hand of the builders was already clearly visible - the Incas, who inherited this religious complex ten centuries ago, but then, centuries later, unexpectedly left this sacred place. The Spaniards who captured Peru never found this sacred city. The American Hiram Bengham counted more than a hundred temporary annual rings on the saw cuts of tree trunks that formed thickets above the buildings.

This means that this was the order of conduct, for this miracle of nature was created by it not for mockery and destruction by animal-like people, but as a shrine of everything earthly and cosmic for an enlightened person. We immediately felt it, as soon as our foot took its first step on this sacred rocky platform. Energy of unprecedented strength immediately poured into our souls, and one of our participants, Aislu, the one who represented Bashkortostan in the group, said aloud: “I seemed to have lived in this sacred place for a thousand years.” And we, from overflowing feelings, did not restrain ourselves, and immediately standing on the ledge of a high rock, raising our hands to the golden Sun, we began to read a prayer: “King of heaven, Comforter, ascend in the energy of the capital of the Sun. Lead these energies into the expanses of the Cosmos. Raise these energies over all of humanity so that today becomes an energy lever of transition - the transfer of our civilization to a new space and time, to a new cosmic consciousness. Only an enlightened person will have access to this program for the transition to a new state of consciousness and to new worlds. Amen!" I, standing in the center of our people, clearly proclaimed these words entering me from the Upper Limit, and everyone else repeated them loudly and with inspiration. And we immediately felt how the words of prayer became the basis of such vibrations that connected the energy of people with the energy of the Cosmos. And at that moment, the face of the Lord God Himself appeared on the Sun, and the Angel of heaven said: “The cliché of an altered state enters you. Amen". And Sergei, who was filming this sacred action with a digital camera, saw an oval blue sphere with a mother-of-pearl glow high above him, and we ascended into its limits with thin ethereal bodies and prayed there. And he saw that it was in this luminous mother-of-pearl sphere that suddenly flashed and spun, as if fireball, the energy cliché of the Universal information field and the Cosmos above this Universal capital of the Sun has become open to all mankind.

Delighted and inspired by what we saw, we walked for another two hours along the rocky platform among the ancient buildings: we also climbed the rock, where in the center of the site was the mysterious stone Inti - Uatana (translated by Inti - the Sun, Uatana - hitching post of the Sun). The Indians believed that God is on Earth, it is in this place that he ties the Sun so that it does not roll away. But what meaning the people of Protocivilization laid in this mysterious place has not yet been shown to us.

The time has come for us to leave this sanctuary, but it did not just let us go. As soon as we went down, to where, at the beginning of the journey, they surveyed the miracle - birds - condors, a local Indian suddenly came out to meet me with clear, clear eyes, and on the rope that he held in his hands, a lama was tied, a local species of the camel family. This unexpected meeting took me by surprise. And the Indian, having stopped the lama and carefully looking at me, suddenly extended his hand in my direction, on which a large, two or three kilograms of mountain quartz gleamed with a bright glow, which was exactly the copy of the Machu Picchu rock, and said: “This is to you people from the Guardian of Machu Picchu. Take it. An altered state of people's consciousness is based in this crystal. The words of this mysterious Inca were translated for me by Nina Corinho, who came up to us. I tried to give him money, but the Indian did not take it, and as unexpectedly disappeared into the thickets of lianas, as he had appeared. Apparently, it was no coincidence that there were an Indian and a lama. I saw such a scene back in 1991, 18 years ago, and at the same time I painted the picture “Llamas Bringing Good”.

I realized that the program of climbing Machu Picchu was closed by the will of the Creator God. But that was not all. When late in the evening we, having beaten the wheels of trailers on a narrow gauge railway, arrived at the Oletentambo station, the lights suddenly went out there. It became dark, dark both in the carriages and on the platform. I immediately realized that this was a destructuring of those energies of society that we brought here, to the spurs of the Andes, but after prayer we returned, by the will of the Lord, renewed from there. And here, at the first station of society, these former energies burned out, turning off the electricity. This is the universal law of the Cosmos, it is according to this law that tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, epidemics and fires occur ...

But what we saw on the dark platform of the station inspired us. A professor from Kazan, Shamil Manasypov, (and among the ascetics there were several scientists with degrees in different sciences), looking at the dark sky, exclaimed: “Evgeny Efimovich, but the Southern Cross hovered in the sky above us!” Truly, this blackout, here in the mountains, allowed us to see the symbol of the Cosmos of the Southern Hemisphere, which gave us confidence in the intelligent forces of the Boundless Divine Cosmos, which is the never-ending cradle of people!!!

For this reason, we, ten prayer books, arrived here, 18 thousand kilometers away, from Russia, in order to connect the energies of the Cosmos with the energies of the Earth. And when, by midnight, we returned to the hotel on Sun Street (and such a street name was also symbolic) and installed an altar for prayer in the room, then after Sergey and I, overshadowing ourselves sign of the cross, lit a candle, the Angel of Heaven said: “Inside you, through the golden symbol of the Sun, a fiery world is created - the matrix of Heaven of the new Transformed Time for the ascended humanity. Amen!" And at that time, everything around me spun in a whirlwind, a fiery mother-of-pearl flow, and I entered a new altered state of consciousness and felt myself in the center of a giant fiery plasma funnel. And, at that time, the whole universe was in me, and I in it. Vivat! And after that, the icon of the Holy Family, which has been moving with us all over the world from sacrament to sacrament for 15 years now, suddenly lit up, and I, looking at this miraculous work, loudly said: “What the Creator commanded us has come to pass!”

The largest state of the New World - the state of the Incas - lasted a little over three hundred years. And the imperial period, when the Incas subjugated almost the entire western part of the South American continent, lasted even less - about 80 years.

But in such a short period of time, the Incas and their subordinate peoples created a huge amount of wealth. Most of them were destroyed by the Spaniards. But the monuments of monumental architecture could not be completely destroyed. - And the samples of ancient architecture that have survived to this day not only arouse admiration, but also pose a number of practically insoluble questions for researchers.

Multi-ton puzzles

The capital of the Inca Empire - the city of Cusco is located in a picturesque valley in the heart of the Andes. During the heyday of the empire, it was a carefully planned city, first divided into two sectors - Upper and Lower, and later divided into four districts. The main ritual and administrative buildings of the Inca state were concentrated here: the palaces of the supreme Incas, the main temples of the empire, such as Coricancha - the temple of the Sun.

But the vast majority of buildings in the first decades after the capture of the city by the conquistadors were dismantled. Carefully processed building blocks of the Inca buildings went to the construction of the buildings of the victorious Spaniards. Much of the center of colonial Cusco was built from building material Incas. But even that insignificant part of the ancient buildings that have survived to this day invariably amazes with the construction genius of the ancient masters. In the very center of Cusco is the palace of the Inca Roca, the sixth ruler of the Incas.

The remains of its cyclopean walls are more reminiscent of not a palace, but an impregnable fortress. They are made of giant andesite blocks weighing several tons each. Andesite is a volcanic rock, close in hardness to granites and basalts, it is extremely difficult to process. But the ancient Peruvian builders treated her like an artist with clay. The walls of the palace, like many other monumental buildings, are built using the technique of the so-called polygonal masonry.

In this construction technique, processed blocks of different sizes and shapes were used, the corners of some blocks had figured cutouts corresponding to the cutouts of neighboring blocks. Usually monoliths have two or three such angles, but some have up to 10 or even 12! Due to this technique, maximum adhesion between the blocks was achieved, which was of vital importance for such an earthquake-prone area as Cusco.

But how were monoliths weighing several tons (and sometimes more than ten tons) stacked so that skillfully carved corners and grooves fit into each other like puzzle pieces? At the same time, the ancient builders did not use any mortar, that is, they laid the blocks - on dry *.

Researcher of Peruvian architecture Jean-Pierre Protzen from the University of California (Berkeley) conducted a whole series of experiments in the early 90s of the last century to restore the stone processing technology used by the ancient builders of Peru.

For processing andesite blocks, he used stone chippers of various sizes, discovered in the ancient Inca quarry of Huakkoto, located 19 km from Cusco. It was from here that the stone for buildings in the capital was taken. Protzen clearly proved in practice that with the help of a set of pebbles of different weights, it is possible to turn a piece of andesitic rock into a rectangular block in a few hours. The film shot during the experiments demonstrates that the researcher performed all types of work without much difficulty. To fit polygonal blocks, he put markers several times and, applying one block to another, revealed irregularities, which he removed, thus obtaining perfectly matching surfaces.

It would seem that this is the solution to the riddle of ancient building technology! However, for the experiment, Protzen used blocks weighing no more than 10 kg. Therefore, without special efforts could twist them, turn them over, try them on each other.

But in the buildings of the ancient Peruvians, there are very few such small blocks. They were used, as a rule, for inserts between large blocks, the average weight of which was 200-300 kg. And large blocks in the same buildings weighed from 2 to 10 tons. How could they be twirled and tried on several times using the Protzen method to achieve perfect mating of the surfaces of adjacent blocks It is believed that the Inca building tools were extremely simple.

Through archaeological research, it is known that measuring tools the Incas had the simplest plumb line and level, which was a flat-bottomed vessel filled with water. And how did the ancient builders manage to lift multi-ton blocks to a considerable height and build an ideal masonry from them? Where today the masonry has been preserved without damage, the joints between the polygonal blocks do not include not only the blade of a knife, it is impossible to put the corner of a banknote between them!

Jean-Pierre Protzen, in his work on the results of experiments, wrote that he was able to demonstrate how the Incas mined and processed stone and how they customized ready blocks. But he honestly admitted that he had no idea how the ancient builders loaded, transported and lifted these huge monoliths.

40 km northwest of Cusco is Olyantay-tambo - another extremely remarkable monument of Indian architecture. The city is located in the upper reaches of the Urubamba River at the beginning of the so-called Sacred Valley of the Incas, which led to Machu Picchu. Until now, the monument has been very well preserved. The modern settlement was built on the foundations of Inca houses and retained the pre-Hispanic street layout. But this is not the main attraction of Ollantaytambo. Near the settlement, on a high rocky ledge of the nearest mountain, there is a temple complex.

It rises above the valley to a height of about 60 m. A single narrow stone staircase leads to the top, on the side of which there is a cascade of 17 agricultural terraces.

At the top of the rock lie the remains of a cyclopean structure, which, without any reason, is called the temple of the Sun. This building is destroyed, only the front wall, built of six huge monoliths of pink porphyry, is well preserved.

Monoliths have a height of up to 4 meters. The whole of each of them reaches 20-25 tons. Moreover, these blocks are not just docked with each other, narrow inserts made of the same material, 25 cm wide, are squeezed between the blocks.

It is believed that the Incas began to build the temple complex of Ollantaytambo just before the invasion of the Spaniards, and the conquest prevented the construction from being completed. Evidence of this - several dozen granite blocks weighing 10 tons or more, scattered on the top of the hill, at its foot and on the road leading to the quarries.

These monoliths are called "tired stones". The granite quarries where the blocks were cut are located on the other side of the valley, at a distance of 4 kilometers, if you count in a straight line. The quarries lie on a steep, about 40″, mountainside at an altitude of about 900 m above the valley. A number of logical questions arise: how could the Indians lower multi-ton blocks down such a slope, then transport them across the stormy mountain river Urubamba (its width here is about 50 m), drag several kilometers along the valley and lift them along the same steep slope to a height of 60 m ? It is generally accepted that the Indians used wooden rollers and ropes for such work.

But common sense casts doubt on the possibility of carrying out such work.

In Ollantaytambo, "tired stones" lie not only on the road leading to the quarries, but also around the ruins of the temple of the Sun, and below, on the territory of the village, in the opposite direction from the quarries. And this indicates that they were not thrown along the way, but, most likely, are the result of the destruction of the ancient temple complex. The Incas, who came here last, were not even able to move the monoliths weighing 15-20 tons and therefore left them where they lay.

Dancing with the rocks

Well known is another architectural masterpiece of ancient Peru - Machu Picchu, which is also called the "City in the Sky". It is located on the slope of a mountain rising above the valley of the Urubamba River at an altitude of 2,400 m. A narrow one-lane road rises to it in a steep serpentine, along which tourists get to this ancient city today.

The Machu Picchu complex demonstrates almost the entire set of building techniques known in Inca times. Most of the buildings are made of roughly cut stones. irregular shape. More significant buildings were erected from the same type of rectangular blocks from the same andesite. Polygonal masonry is found, but rarely. And it is not as refined as in Cusco.

In the center of the complex are the main ritual buildings, the so-called Main Temple and the Temple of the Three Windows. Their walls are made of rectangular blocks weighing 100-200 kg. But they rest on huge processed monoliths, whose weight reaches 15-20 tons. By the way, here, in the center, there are several of the same monoliths that are not laid in masonry. Based on this fact, scientists conclude that the city was abandoned before construction was completed.

In the center of the ritual part of the complex there is an unusual structure, which today is called Intihuatana (“the leash of the Sun”).

This is a natural rock ledge, carefully processed to give the rock a certain geometric shape.
In the center of the structure rise the remains of a vertical pillar. Scientists believe that Intihuatana played a role sundial, by which Inca astronomers determined the change of seasons.

But it is surprising that in Machu Picchu there are about ten such rocks, carefully crafted, sometimes having edges, recesses, steps polished over the entire length of the protrusion. Presumably, the ancient Peruvians used such semi-finished rocks as altars.

Mysteries of ancient masons

The unprecedentedness and variety of construction and architectural techniques used by the ancient Peruvians is striking. Many researchers believe that the Cyclopean walls were built by unknown masters long before the Incas. The Incas, who came to these places last, adopted some of the ancient building skills. Modern engineers and builders who are interested in the Peruvian art of building cannot understand and even more so explain the very technical possibility of such techniques.

How to descend and climb a steep slope monolithic block weighing 15-20 tons? On wooden skating rinks with ropes? How to load such a block onto a wooden raft swaying on the waves of a mountain river? How to erect a building with polygonal masonry walls using the most primitive tools without special lifting equipment? And this is not all the questions that arise when you get to know the architectural heritage of the ancient masons of Peru. Perhaps they owned fundamentally different building technologies, which we don’t even have an idea about today?

The citadel consists of two sectors: agricultural and urban (where the main squares, temples, palaces, warehouses, workshops, stairs and fountains are located), their area is 20 and 10 hectares, respectively.
