But about half of the country's territory is still covered with virgin forests, and the incredible variety of flora and fauna is pleasantly amazing. Vacationers especially like delicious fruits, often completely unfamiliar.

The long coastline has prepared for tourists an incredible number of beautiful beaches, mostly deserted. Marine nature will bring pleasure to divers and divers with its beauty and diversity.

Prices for holidays in Langkawi. July 2018.

tour cost

A visa is not required for Russian citizens.

We ordered tickets in March, flew through Kuala Lampur on Qatar Airways with a transit through Doha - the cost of a ticket per person turned out to be around 31,000. Tickets to Langkawi by local airlines turned out to be about 3,500 per person there and back.

Hotel prices on the island are not cheap. A double room (children are free) at the boarding house (3 meals a day) cost about 120,000 for 10 days.

Food and groceries

Food prices are average, about the same as in Moscow - a modest dinner (1-2 dishes per person + dessert for children) for 2 adults and 2 children cost about 3,500 rubles with drinks. We ate in hotel restaurants, in city prices are more affordable, there are fast foods with more budget prices, about the same as in Moscow.

Souvenirs and other goods

There are many DUTY FREE shops on the island, the range of which coincides with the duty-free shops at the airports. The prices seemed to us even a little more expensive than at the airport. Most of all, we were surprised by the prices for fruits, mango for 300 rubles / kg, passionfruit - 350 rubles / kg - very expensive, while the quality leaves much to be desired, the assortment is practically absent.

What to take with you on vacation?

Socket adapter. There are so-called British sockets in the country, which differ from ours by three holes and distance. Some hotels provide on request. But it is better to insure in advance, at the airport they are very expensive.

Where is the best place to stay?

The best hotel is to choose in the tourist area Bukit Bintang, close to shops and good transport links. From there you can conveniently and quickly get to all the attractions. I took a small hotel with the most positive reviews about the cleanliness and freshness of the interior. As a rule, the first category of rooms is without windows and is minimal in size, literally there is only room for a bed. This is really enough, given that you are practically not in the hotel. And when you sleep, the absence of a window is very useful: you can sleep in silence and darkness until the morning. The cost for hotels 3 stars, on average $ 50. Most budget hotels are self-catering. They basically do not have a restaurant or cafe in the building itself. But there are no problems with food, there are mini-markets and cafes within walking distance, so there is where to eat. The room has a kettle.

How to entertain yourself at the resort?

Sky BAR is a very cool lounge bar with a direct view of the Petronas Towers. Here you can relax, drink cocktails, make new acquaintances and do very cool photos... Luxurious atmosphere. Mostly European audience. Quality music. Everyone is open to communication. They get to know each other right there. It is best to come to sunset to catch the city in the light of the sun and at night.

KLCC Park is a park in the city center. Free admission. You can just walk and enjoy nature. On the bridge, you get some cool pictures of a handicap of towers. In the middle of the park there is a public swimming pool where anyone can swim. Large playground. The park is so conveniently located that a walk can be combined with a visit to the aquarium and a shopping center.

Suria KLCC - shopping center, many interesting brands which I have not seen in other Asian countries. Here I recommend visiting Petrosains, The Discovery Center on the 4th floor. Some will say that this is only for children. But believe me, it's so interesting there. Interactive with advanced technology Museum. You can find out and bring into action the technologies of modern civilization yourself. I personally made many discoveries for myself. At 20:00, next to the building of the shopping center, a light and music show of fountains takes place.

Batu Caves are the second visiting card of Kuala Lumpur and the country as a whole. A grandiose statue and a tall staircase. It will take a lot of strength to get to the top. But it's worth it. I really liked the atmosphere and energy of the temples located inside the caves. Need to be careful on the stairs besides a large number pilgrims and tourists are many wild monkeys.

Putrajaya is the new administrative center of Malaysia. I would call it "perfect city", tk. whole city was built at the end of the 20th century in accordance with modern requirements and a specific plan. He is really perfect and as if not real. It feels like we were the only creatures in this city. We walked along the embankment and had lunch. I recommend visiting the Putra Mosque.

Islands of Malaysia: where best rest and beaches?

Evergreen forests, sandy beaches, blue waters, coral reefs ... Heaven on earth. This is Malaysia - one of the Asian countries in which traces of three civilizations are found: Indian, Chinese, Malay.

The country has long and firmly entered the lists of the most interesting, but not very cheap holiday destinations. Kuala Lumpur is also called the green capital of Asia. And this is no coincidence: the city seems to be buried in greenery, where for the time being the Lake Garden, and the landscaped Temp Park, and the Orchid Garden, and the zoo remain hidden from the eyes of tourists.

No less interesting is the survey of the environs of the capital of Malaysia. Lovers of ethnology traditionally go here, to Malay villages. Here you can visit rare in other places, and therefore especially popular among tourists, farms of butterflies and scorpions, the Botanical Garden, pewter factories and batik factories.

In a word, you need to come to the country, and what to see - there is. And not only for adults, but also for children. Malaysia belongs to one of the many countries in which all tourists, including small ones, are welcome.

Langkawi island

With children, it is better to go to resorts where absolute peace reigns, excellent service awaits tourists in hotels, special dishes are prepared for children in hotel restaurants. The hotel rooms are equipped with cots, playgrounds and children's clubs are located on the territory of the hotels, where lemurs walk freely, which delights little guests.

Young people, too, may at first be confused by the abundance of everything that Malaysia has to offer them to satisfy their desires and needs. This is usually leisure and entertainment.

Redang Island

Some of the best resorts in the country are located on the island of Redang. People go here for sights and entertainment. Here are preserved corners of unique nature: the jungle covering the mountains; clean sea with warm sand; squirrels, martens and monkeys, quietly moving around the territory of hotels. Here, jet skis, scooters, parachutes are at the service of the suffering. When it comes to entertainment, Malaysians know how to have fun. Both Christian and Hindu and local holidays are celebrated here in the same way: New Year according to different calendars, Lantern Festival, Flower Festival. The food is also varied.

The islands of Malaysia have their own culinary traditions... As a rule, the basis of all dishes is rice cooked different ways and combined with various spices. Greens, vegetables, coconut milk, fruits are widely used. National dishes are considered vegetable salads, but meat is used in small quantities.

It is impossible to say unequivocally which of the Malaysian islands is the best for a beach holiday, everyone should choose depending on their needs. But, no matter what resort tourists go to, they need to remember that they are going to a country where official religion after all, Islam is. So, you need to follow certain rules: before visiting temples and houses, take off your shoes, put on modest clothes, pass food only right hand... And then nothing will spoil the enjoyment of your vacation.
