Winter magic. Snow jar

New Year snowball do it yourself from a can

You can very easily make a New Year's snow globe with your own hands from scrap materials. It is one of the most popular Christmas gifts in the world. To decorate a souvenir, you can mold some kind of figurine, for example, like here, a snowman. You can sculpt from any mass for sculpting, except for salt dough, which dissolves in water

For work we need:

glass jar with a tightly screwed lid,
boiled or distilled water,
glycerin solution;
waterproof glue(two-part transparent waterproof epoxy adhesive, florist clay, aquarium sealant, silicone stick gun glue)
snow substitute ( artificial snow, body glitter, shredded foam, broken eggshell, coconut flakes, white beads);
various figures from chocolate eggs
toys from polymer clay,
various little things- to decorate a souvenir, you can use anything you like, except for salt dough, which dissolves in water.

The inner surface of the jar must be washed and dried. Glue the prepared figures on the inside of the lid.

If we need to use any metal parts, then they must first be covered with colorless nail varnish - otherwise they risk corroding and ruining the craft.

Now we pour boiled water mixed with glycerin in a 1: 1 ratio into the jar, but you can add more antifreeze - then the snow inside the dome will be very slow and "lazy".

We pour "snowflakes" from the selected material into this liquid, and if they fall too quickly, add more glycerin.

After the snow testing is completed, the last step remains for us: screw the lid tightly, treat the joint with glue. When the craft is dry, you can turn it upside down and admire the result!

Unlimited imagination for the embodiment of creative ideas and creating a unique New Year's interior... In the list original crafts and an unusual jar with snow - it's not difficult to make it with your own hands. A ball of snow, in which, when shaken, snowflakes whirl and fancy New Year's figures float, for almost everyone it is a distant childhood memory.

Master class for creating with your own hands a winter-plot phantasmagoria in an ordinary glass jar is incredibly simple. Let's try?

Decor materials

To create a New Year's jar with snow, we need a tall and straight glass container with a twisting iron lid of about 1 liter, loose foam or artificial snow, minifigures that will live in a jar with snow. Our decor features a green herringbone and a funny snowman with a sled.

To create a unique New Year's decor, the choice of miniature toys is wide enough. The main thing is to fit in the jar. Santa Claus and reindeer, Christmas tree, Snow Maiden, gnomes, forest animals in the snow, in a word, everything that is somehow connected with the New Year and Christmas holidays.

It is worth thinking about a platform-stand for figurines in a can of snow. This can be a do-it-yourself pedestal made of a piece of wood, foam or cardboard. White cotton balls or wool balls will come in handy small size... You can make them yourself or buy them at a craft store. You will also need a needle, line, and glue / tape.

Step-by-step work algorithm

A stylized New Year's bank in a festive interior will be an excellent decoration for any room: living room, kitchen, nursery. Considering that you will make this miracle with your own hands, a festive atmosphere will appear in the house already during the creative process.

  1. We thread the fishing line through the needle and string cotton or woolen balls onto the fishing line. To fix them, use a glue drop or a drop of nail polish (colorless) on one side of the middle of the ball.
  2. At the bottom of the can we attach a platform for a mini-toy. This will help glue and double-sided tape.
  3. We install miniature figures on the bottom of the can, while still without snow, and attach them so that they do not dangle when the can moves.
  4. Sprinkle the glass bottom of the jar with artificial snow or loose foam so as to completely cover the "podium". By the way, it is quite easy to make artificial snow for a bank with your own hands. There are many original recipes its manufacture.
  5. The crucial moment is "snow" in the bank. We attach an impromptu garland with hot glue or tape to the screw cap. Eight to ten "cotton-snow" threads of different lengths - the best option for the New Year's decor of our magic jar.
  6. The final touch - we close the container with a lid with fixed garlands and twist it. The can of snow is ready!

Fantasy will tell you the decor for winter, Easter, autumn jars, in which you can use natural materials and a creative set of handmade figurines, toys, accessories.

The shape of the can itself may be interesting. The more unusual the glass container, the more intricate the picture inside can be. And a reason to create with your own hands and use a "can" decor can arise at any time.

Christmas tree in the bank. You've probably seen such New Year's toys: glass bowl filled with liquid, and inside there is some kind of snow-covered panorama, a house or a tree, and there is an imitation of snowfall. You can do something similar with your own hands.
Let's call the project “a tree in a bank”, well, I’ll just have a tree in my bank, and you may have something else.

For the project we need:
1. Jar with a lid.
2. Distilled water.
3. Glycerin (sold at any pharmacy).
4. Ceramic or plastic animal figurines, trees and human figurines.
5. Artificial crumbly snow or sparkles.
6. Epoxy resin and hardener (in the store you can buy a kit).
7. Sandpaper.

First of all, you need to make sure that the jar is clean, you can, if you have, take a lot of a rounded jar now different forms, I will have a tapered jar. Next, you need to glue the figures, in my case the tree to the bottom of the lid. We clean the bottom sandpaper for better grip and glue epoxy resin herringbone. The resin is resistant to water and will last a long time, although the smell from it is specific, but nothing will fade away.

We fill the jar itself with distilled water (do not fill the jar to the top). We add a little glycerin to the water, just a little bit (although I don't know what kind of glycerin you will have, add a little, if necessary, then add more). Glycerin changes the viscosity and density of water, it will suspend our sparkles, our artificial snow, prevent them from falling to the bottom and guarantee our toy the effect of snowfall. Now add our sparkles, or artificial snow to the jar (very fine, you don't need a good effect from large sparkles).

Then we screw in the lid with our tree, turn the jar over and shake well. That's it, the tree is in the bank - it's snowing.
You can give the toy an additional decoration, install it on a pedestal, for example, a plank in the form of a saw cut. Add a couple of animal figures to that, or fairytale characters... The lid can also be decorated, painted or pasted over with something, it is desirable that there was an opportunity to open it, suddenly you decide to modify the toy, and that's basically it.

For work we need:

a glass jar with a tightly screwed lid, boiled or distilled water, glycerin solution; waterproof glue (two-component transparent waterproof epoxy glue, florist clay, aquarium sealant, gun glue in the form of silicone sticks), snow substitute (artificial snow, body glitter, crushed foam, broken eggshells, coconut chips, white beads); various figurines made of chocolate eggs, DIY toys made of polymer clay, various little things - you can use anything to decorate a souvenir except salt dough, which dissolves in water.

The inner surface of the jar must be washed and dried. Glue the prepared figures on the inside of the lid. If we need to use some metal parts, then they must first be covered with colorless nail polish - otherwise they risk corroding and ruining the craft.

The whole family can make crafts on the theme of the New Year and winter. This activity is exciting and will bring the household together very much. Outside the window, frost and wind swaying trees, cold and dark, and you all gathered together at one table to create a small family masterpiece: magic jar of snow... In the warmth and comfort, there is always something to talk about both small and large. And you are also engaged in a useful business, the result of your efforts will only be a small miracle. You can even feel like a wizard. The New Year's product will decorate the apartment and always remind you that you should gather like this more often. And, of course, all relatives will appreciate the family gift, because in the things made by hand, there is a particle of the soul.

What you need to work:

Small jar with a screw cap.
A decorative plastic element such as a Christmas tree, a snowman or any other product with a suitable theme.
Glycerol.
Sequins.
Tinsel.
Scissors.
Hot glue gun.

  • First of all, we clean the jar of stickers and fill it exactly halfway with water.
  • Fill the remaining space of the jar with glycerin. We pour, so to speak, with a slide.
  • We glue the product of your choice to the lid of the jar, for example, we will focus on the Christmas tree. The surfaces to be glued are best degreased and notched for better adhesion. In the work, you can use other waterproof glue.

  • Add sparkles and small tinsel to the water with glycerin. Close the jar tightly. If there are air bubbles, add water or glycerin. The lid must fit tightly to the jar. To be sure, it can be salted with glue.

Now it remains to try. Flip and shake your can of snow and enjoy your hand-made Winter Magic.
