Do it yourself from plastic bottles palm tree. How to make a palm tree with your own hands

Paper palm trees are great for budget decorating terraces, porches, gazebos and patios, all kinds of parties, as well as school and kindergarten holidays. These palm trees are easy to make, which even a child can handle. But even better is that for all their cheapness and elementary nature, these palm trees look really very realistic.

To you will be required:
- Long cardboard rolls from paper towels or decorative wrapping paper (for a palm tree trunk, which can be made from a wooden, metal or plastic pole / stick, and from other analogues);
- Brown paper, a lot - can be wrinkled, can be used paper bags, in which at least 1 side is monophonic - in general, everything that fits the definition;
- Dense green colored paper(you can glue the usual color in 2 layers for greater rigidity);
- Brown thin rubber bands or thin brown twine / rope;
- stapler;
- Scissors;
- Duct tape;
- A stable decorative container in which you will "plant" your palm tree;
- Decorative pebbles or small shells;
- Sand.

1. If you use cardboard rolls as a palm trunk, you will have to glue several pieces in length to get a palm of the required height. Glue as securely as possible so that the palm tree does not suddenly bend at an inopportune moment. You can even fill the rolls inside with something hard and long at the junction. If you already have a long barrel base, skip this step.

2. With your hands, tear the brown paper into pieces with deliberately jagged edges, but wide enough and long enough to be wrapped around the base of the palm trunk in a spiral with a good overlap. Before wrapping the trunk, rub the paper with your hands for a more realistic look of the palm tree in the end.

3. Secure the wrapped paper to the trunk with rubber bands or a thin brown rope. Put the rope and rubber bands with large distances between the turns so that the paper holds firmly, but its uneven edges can be bent to the sides. They wrapped the entire trunk - bend the horizontal edges of the paper away from the trunk - it will look more like palm bark.

4. Cut large leaves of the most common, slightly elongated and pointed shape from thick double-sided green paper - 8 pcs. Do not try to make them now look like long rectangles with rounded corners, like living palm trees - this is not necessary. When you attach the finished leaves to the palm tree, they will look as they should. Fold the cut leaves in half lengthwise.

6. Take 4 of the 8 finished leaves, fold them together (in a stack) with the lower tips, but direct the sheets themselves in different directions - unevenly, naturally. Fasten the folded tips 2-3 times with a stapler. Repeat with the remaining 4 sheets.

7. Crumple up a good ball of brown paper if you made the base of the palm trunk from cardboard rolls. Insert the fastened bottom ends of two “bundles” of palm leaves quite deep inside the upper stem roll opposite each other, pre-gluing both the tips and the inside of the roll with glue. Insert a ball of paper from above tightly so that the leaves do not fall out, and also to close the hole in the trunk from above. Spread the leaves and, if necessary, correct their position a little.

If the trunk doesn't have a hole, simply use glue on the top and bottom of the pinned leaf tips, then tie them tightly with thin brown string to the top of the palm trunk. Under the rope, it is also worth dropping glue everywhere.

Add-ons:

Try to put 2-3 palm trees in one large - wide and deep - container different heights and leaf size

To make this project even more sustainable, glue newspaper leaves and tempera green, then cut out palm leaves.

Any garden will seem unusual and original if you plant a palm tree there. However, in our climate, this idea is impossible - winter tropical plant obviously won't survive. An alternative would be a plastic palm tree. The product is not afraid of frost and does not need to be watered.

DIY materials

There are several ways to make a palm tree from plastic bottles and each uses the same components:

  • Plastic bottles are brown and green. Better two or one and a half liter.
  • Scissors.
  • Tape or glue.
  • A long, straight stick that will be the base - iron, plastic or wood.
  • Small wires or twigs for palm leaves.

Stages of product creation:

  • Wash and clean bottle labels.
  • Make leaves.
  • Make a tree trunk.
  • Fasten the leaves to the trunk and set in the yard.

This is short description upcoming actions. Below are some instructions for beginners. Everyone will be able to choose which palm tree will look best in the yard.

First way

Making leaves

Green bottles are cut in half. You only need the part with the neck. A narrow section of it remains intact, and the rest is cut into many small strips. When a lot of blanks are made, they are all strung on a cable.

It is advisable to fasten them with glue or tape so that they are firmly attached to each other. Leaves need to be made at least 5-6. If you get more, the tree will look even more attractive.

palm tree trunk

The barrel needs brown bottles. cut off Bottom part bottom and the rest of the bottle is used. The process of creating a blank is identical to the first point - longitudinal strips attached to the neck are cut.

However, if in the first case the more stripes, the better, then there should be six of them. The edges are neat, slightly pointed and curl inwards. A lot of preparations are needed. The more details, the longer the palm will be.

It is advisable to select the length of the rod on which they will be strung, but it is important to consider that part of it is dug into the ground.

Foundation preparation

As already mentioned in paragraph two - the rod must be dug in. It should be deep enough in the ground so that the structure does not fall from the wind. Brown details are strung on it. The neck of the first workpiece is slightly buried along with the rod.

We fasten the leaves to the palm tree

The blanks from point one should have wires sticking out of the necks of the bottles. With the help of wires, the crown is tied to the top of the tree.

Second way

The actions are approximately similar to option 1. Only the type of cutting of parts changes, and this also changes the appearance of the product.

In this case, brown bottles are not used completely, but only 1/3 of the bottle (which is near the narrow part). Instead of 6 long strips, 8 short pointed petals are cut out.

To make the palm tree wide and voluminous, the petals should stick out. Due to the lack of materials, the bottom of the bottle can be used in a similar way, but then a hole must be punched in the bottom.

The leaves of this palm tree seem more real. For realism appearance, in addition to green bottles, you can use yellow ones. You can also experiment with leaf sizes. For huge sheets, you can take six-liter bottles, and for small ones, one and a half liter ones.

The bottom of the containers is cut off, and the rest is cut into 3 sheets attached to the neck. The leaves have a longitudinal stem (about 1.5 cm) and the rest is cut into many thin transverse strips on both sides of the leaf stem.

In order to present visually - the leaves will resemble, familiar to many, fern leaves. To make the tree lush, the fringe needs to be fluffed - the strips are bent alternately up or down.

You need to fasten the parts to each other, as well as in the first method.

Third way

The leaves are made from the bottoms of one and a half liter bottles. They are cut, holes are made in the middle and strung on a cable. Such a sheet, on the contrary, ends with a thin part of the bottle.

In this embodiment, a thin base will not work. For the base you need to use a long log. The bottoms are cut off from brown bottles and nailed to the log until they cover it completely.

Description of these 3 ways can give creative people inspiration to create new unusual options. A little tip: leaf and stem ideas can be combined to suit the taste of the garden owner.

In the photo, especially skillfully made palm trees from plastic bottles are surprisingly similar to real ones. The yard in which such beauty “grows” will look like exotic tropics, even in a snowy winter.

Photo of palm trees from plastic bottles

Many owners of summer cottages seek to decorate their backyard territory. Gypsum figurines are often used for this. However, in recent times handicrafts from improvised ones are becoming increasingly popular, often waste materials. Products made from plastic bottles have won special love among craftsmen. Craftsmen create a wide variety of compositions from them with their own hands, including exotic trees.

Bottle crafts: a variety of options

Decorate your household plot You can use various crafts made on the basis of plastic bottles. This solution simultaneously solves 2 problems - waste disposal and decoration of the territory.

With the help of this improvised material, you can arrange flower beds. Craftsmen also create from it:

  • stuffed;
  • curly flowers;
  • sparrows;
  • trees.

Waste raw materials are used to produce original voluminous flower arrangements, decor for decorating mirror frames, unusual pots, plants, cats. Through such garbage, you can make cute and funny cats that will become the hallmark of the garden.

Recently, however, unusual plastic palm trees have gained particular popularity. There are several technologies for the manufacture of tropical wood. In any case, the composition is extraordinary and catchy.

Palm tree from plastic bottles: step-by-step instructions with a photo for creating the base of the trunk

Based on the photo and step-by-step instructions, it will not be difficult to create a palm tree with your own hands. You can involve children and all household members in the process, as it is truly exciting and interesting.

For work you will need to prepare:

  • at least 100 pieces of plastic bottles of brown and green color;
  • a candle;
  • wire;
  • iron pin or fittings;
  • scissors.

On a note! To create an extravagant tree, you can use material in other shades. If there is no raw material of the required color, it is worth using transparent bottles, which are then easy to paint.

It is optimal to use containers with a volume of 1.5-2 liters. From them, the design of the most natural appearance is obtained.

Step 1 - First prepare the trunk of the palm tree. Brown containers are used for this. With a knife they are cut in the middle. The bottom fragment is recommended to be made a little larger. You don't need to throw anything away. Everything will be used in the work.

Step 2 - The half with the neck is cut. This must be done in eight places. The incisions are made to the area of narrowing of the container.

Step 3 - A petal is formed from each received fragment. It is optimal to give each part the shape of a triangle. At the same time, a fold must be made at the base, after which peculiar flowers should be opened from them.

Step 4 - Fragments with a bottom will need to be cut in the same way. In the middle of each part, it is still necessary to make a hole with a diameter equal to the size of the neck.

On a note! To make it easier to work with plastic, it is recommended to use a hot knife.

Do-it-yourself palm tree from bottles: we make foliage

After the base is ready, you can proceed to the creation of foliage. Based on the master class, the work will not seem difficult. For this you need to use green bottles.

Step 1 - Cut off the bottom of the bottles and the neck.

Step 2 - Moving from below, it is necessary to cut the workpiece into equal parts with scissors. Should get at least 3-4 fragments. In this case, you do not need to reach the very edge. It is optimal to leave an edge 2-3 cm wide. The fragments should have a base.

Step 3 - Shaping the sheets. The lower parts of the cuts will need to be slightly twisted to make them round. In the neck area, it is recommended to narrow the fragments, after which flat surface they need to be straightened out.

Step 4 - Everything big details still need to cut on each side. 2 cm should remain in the center. Scissors must be placed along an oblique path. The cuts should go to a narrower center from the sides that have been rounded.

Note! To make the composition lush and voluminous, each strip must be unbent through one up and down.

How to make a palm tree from plastic bottles: assembly video

When all the fragments for the palm tree are prepared, you can start assembling the composition with your own hands.

On a note! Iron pin or polypropylene pipe perfect for stock. The main thing is that the diameter is small, since all workpieces will need to be attached to this material.

After selecting the stem and forming the elements of the plastic exotic tree you can assemble the composition. It is recommended to alternately thread fragments onto the barrel. Parts are fixed upside down. Larger parts come first, and then smaller ones.

When most of the trunk is ready, you can move on to the foliage. At a height between the brown elements, petals must be inserted. It is recommended to work in a checkerboard pattern. The first piece of green color should be fixed on the pipe with tape. Then the leaves also need to be fastened alternately so that the gaps are securely hidden.

You can decorate the finished palm tree with balls resembling coconuts, or make bananas from improvised materials.

Together with my son, we agreed to make a palm tree out of plastic bottles for the garden. It turned out that there are a considerable number of ways to implement the idea. Wanting to get the best copy, we tried several assembly schemes exotic plant, about which we will tell.

Starting the installation of a palm tree from plastic bottles, we fully felt the main problem: a huge amount of packaging is needed! It should be borne in mind that all this bottled abundance must be washed, cut and collected with your own hands. My son got blisters from scissors. In the process of work, three ways of solving the problem were found:

  • make a small tree
  • use technology with less material;
  • paint transparent bottles.

This has all gone through our hands several times.

As a result, we decided to make a medium-sized tree. Painted only three bottles. We achieved the use of containers almost without scraps, that is, by 90%. For the whole product, 35 brown and the same number of green plastic bottles were spent. We give a description of the creation of what you see in the photo, as well as do-it-yourself assembly schemes for a small and large tree. We made a little man under a tree from plastic bottles earlier.

Man-made palm tree and "local resident", created earlier

Assembling the trunk for a medium-sized palm tree

Let's start assembling the tree from the trunk. It will require a metal tube, which in diameter easily passes into the neck of the bottle. The tube should be 50 cm longer than the palm tree: this part will be in the ground.

We used the entire 150cm tube to assemble the barrel. For installation on the ground, reinforcement 1 m long was hammered into the ground by 50 cm, on which they put a tube load-bearing structure palm trees. The following is a step-by-step instruction and a scheme for assembling crafts for a garden. The step numbers here and below correspond to the numbers in the pictures:

The result is a palm tree trunk. The diameter of the tree is not the same due to the use different bottles but that is what happens in nature.

small palm tree trunk

We know that there are uneven protrusions of the remnants of branches on the surface of the palm tree. At a short distance they are clearly visible, so for small tree better fit stem of a different design.

A small palm tree may have a different trunk design.

A small palm tree can be installed in the country house right next to the wall of the house. In this case, you need to perform the following steps step by step:

Technology for manufacturing a trunk for a large palm tree

There is a third way to make a palm tree trunk. If we want to make a big tree for a country house close in size to natural, the examples already considered will not work because of the disproportionately small diameter of the trunk and the fragility of the structure. In this case, you will have to cut off the lowest parts of the plastic bottles, and then drill them and fasten them with screws or nails to the log. Of course, you will need a lot of containers.

The option of manufacturing a barrel of natural sizes

Master class for making a crown for a medium-sized palm tree

Now let's deal with the crown of an exotic tree. For its assembly, we also chose a design with full use of plastic bottles. The bottles are different, and we have previously divided them into five groups for the five branches of the tree, trying to ensure that all sets are approximately the same. To assemble the crown, you need to follow these steps step by step:

Like the trunk, the crown of a palm tree can be made different ways. It is very convenient to choose the desired option, based on the size of the tree. Returning to a medium-sized sample, you can make a more fluffy crown. However, in this case, you will have to cut the bottles in increments of 5 mm, that is, do it yourself three times as much work. In addition, in this case only the top third of the bottle is used, which will require three times the amount of starting material.

We make a crown for a small tree

Now we give a master class for making a crown for a palm tree small size. This craft is good for beginners. In this case, it takes noticeably more time to work with each detail, but noticeably fewer bottles are required, and the crown of the tree will have a more natural look with a short distance to a small tree.

Such a crown will require only a few bottles. Step-by-step instruction will be as follows:

Other options for making an artificial tree crown

Variants of palm tree crowns with various leaves

Note that palm leaves can be cut using a different pattern. If you wake up your imagination, you can come up with something new and make your own palm tree from plastic containers.

The desire of a person to decorate his home is not limited to the area of \u200b\u200ban apartment or house. Going out into the street, it is embodied in flower beds and front gardens, in garden bushes and trees. But seasonal changes in nature constantly make adjustments to the beauty we have created.

But how to create such a picture from improvised means that can please the eye for many years? We will tell in this article.

artificial palm material

The raw material for the manufacture of man-made palm trees will be plastic bottles. This is one of the most common containers on the planet for various drinks.

To create a palm tree you will need a large number of of the same type of plastic bottles in two colors:

  • brown: from kvass or beer - for a tree trunk,
  • green: from under the sprite, tarragon or the same beer - for its leaves.

There may be several forms, in which case you will have to alternate them during assembly, but it is better to have the same ones that match both in color and shape.

Procurement of material and will be the most hard work in the process of "growing" palm trees from plastic bottles with their own hands. But, if you have children and they have friends, then all work can turn into an exciting cultural and educational event with a small palm grove in the end.

Or not end with some palm trees.

Before use, the bottles should be washed so that the remnants of the drinks in them do not become an adhesive base for dust, and the labels and residues of the glue with which they were stuck should be removed.

Assembling a palm tree from plastic bottles - step by step for beginners

Manufacturing options plastic palm- a lot, consider the most common.

1. Barrel.

It can be based on:

  • metal rod or fittings;
  • wooden pole;
  • dried tree.

Consider options for manufacturing a palm tree trunk. Various technologies have been applied to make the trunks of these palm trees.

AT first case the top of the bottles was simply cut off, and they were strung on a rod, inserted into each other. This only vaguely resembles the trunk of a palm tree, but it is done simply and does not require as many bottles as other methods.

Second option resembles the first, but in it the tops of the bottles are carved with a crown, the teeth of which are slightly turned outwards.

The third- requires a fairly large number of bottles, but in this way you can decorate very thick bases, imitating real views palm trees with thick trunks, or turn into them the trunks of dried trees, freed from excess branches.

Sometimes, in order not to look for such huge amount bottles of the same type Brown, collect white ones of the same shape, and after screwing their bottoms with self-tapping screws to wooden base trunk, painted with it in one brown color.

You can make it resistant to fading acrylic paints or automotive enamels, although some use cheaper nitro paints from aerosol cans. Sometimes with a brush, after the first layer has dried, the recesses are painted in more dark color, is more realistic. It is better to cover everything with a colorless frost-resistant varnish after painting.

On the formation of the texture of the trunk fourth way a fairly large number of bottles also go away, but such an imitation looks even more believable and beautiful. Such scales are obtained using the curvature of the legs of the bottles.

Unlike the previous options, formed from below, such a “bark” is assembled from the upper part of the “trunk”, when the fasteners of the upper layers (self-tapping screws, nails, staples) are covered by the lower ones, and the very bottom is dug into the ground or sprinkled with it.

Similar to the same method fifth option, only it imitates the appearance of palm trees, the bark of which is formed by leaves that have died off during the growth of the tree, leaving behind protruding thick parts of the cuttings. We will not describe the method of its formation, it is clear from the photo.

Let's illustrate step by step photos the simplest of textured ways, only unlike the photos that show it, and where only the bottom halves of the bottles are used, we will use the entire material. We took a white bottle so that the markings were more noticeable.

The upper part of the bottle, after cutting and bending the tips, is unfolded and inserted into the lower one. Both are mounted on a metal rod that forms the barrel and bends to your liking. To do this, holes of the desired diameter are drilled in the bottoms of the bottles, as in the photo.

It is not that big: for a 3-meter barrel you will need 19 - 20 two-liter bottles.

For massiveness and resistance to crushing of plastic in the future, during the typing, the insides of the bottles can be covered with sand.

2. Leaves.

Some of them only in a very large distance resemble palm trees, but they are easy to manufacture.

It is more difficult when you have to work extra with scissors.

To enlarge an image, click on it.

Above the edges of the leaves, you can slightly conjure open fire, as in last photo this selection, and they will take on a more natural look, because in nature there are no leaves with rectangular ends.

Reliable fastening will be if a washer with tubes is welded to the metal rod of the trunk, into which metal rods of palm branches are inserted. Such a washer can be screwed to a wooden trunk or simply drilled into it and inserted scraps of metal tubes.

You can collect branches using the corks of the bottles themselves.

And you can, cutting off the threaded necks, use a stapler. Or, inserting bottle leaves one by one, fix only the last one on the rod.

We described the method of making the leaves of one of these homemade palm trees, and a video instruction for making such a composition can help you in making it:

It is also interesting in one of the methods for making a trunk, which can also be used in the production of a larger palm tree for placement in the yard, and also a method heat treatment plastic we mentioned earlier.

Artificial coconuts, bananas and other fruits of palm trees can be made from Styrofoam, covered with paper and painted. If you paint them several coats with outdoor acrylic paints, they can last quite a while outside.
