Smartphone types. Choosing a smartphone, tips for "dummies"

Such a dialogue can be heard in one of the countless cell phone stores. The thing is that each manufacturer of mobile phones creates its own classification system for these devices. As a result, an inexperienced buyer is faced with a real avalanche of colors, shapes, sizes, types of cases, functionality. In order to make the right choice - after all, in fact, we go to mobile stores for this - it would be useful to find out the features of the classification of cellular phones, understand exactly how certain models are positioned, and choose your next mobile phone, knowing exactly what to expect from one or another class of devices.

Any classification in the field of mobile phones is to a certain extent subjective. The thing is that such a classification is based on the principle "from the particular to the general" or - "from practice to theory". After all, there is no single classification adopted by cell phone manufacturers. This is both good and bad at the same time. Bad - because it is often not entirely clear what kind of phone is in front of you, what to expect from it, whether its purchase is justified. Good - because when you go to a cellular novelty salon or a “mobile” resource, you can easily request a device from the desired class (after all, the buyer of a budget model knows that he is looking for an inexpensive device, etc.)

Budget models are phones whose main purpose is to provide communication services. A modern budget phone can cost from fifty dollars to about a hundred. Some of them, usually the cheapest ones, have monochrome displays, little to no personalization options, but the communication function usually works well. However, there are budget models that have very advanced features.

A typical budget phone, I would even say “extra budget” is the Motorola C115. The 2004 model was immediately recognized as a "classic budget model" upon release. Until now, this device can be found on sale for about $40. This is an example of absolute minimalism - a monochrome screen, small dimensions of the device, a monophonic ringer. Although, despite the simplicity and cheapness, C115 looks quite unusual and therefore well remembered.

However, Nokia 3310, perhaps the most popular model in the entire history of the Finnish manufacturer, should be called the personification of the budget segment. True, at the time of its appearance (about eight years ago) it belonged to a higher class, but after the price reduction and the general development of technologies, we got a device that supported Nokia's sales in the budget segment for another five years.

The Nokia 1208, which costs about $50, has a color display, flashlight, talk time counter, and supports polyphonic calls. But his twin brother, similar both in appearance and in basic functionality, cannot boast of a color monitor. In general, this is a frequent case, especially in the model range of manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola and the “French” Alcatel and Sagem, that two “state employees” differ from each other only in the presence / absence of a color screen. Here the buyer faces a difficult choice: to be content with monochrome or pay 100-150 rubles extra for as many as 65 thousand flowers! However, there is no sense in these thousands when using passive cSTN technology and a resolution of 96 x 64 pixels ...

The traditional form factor of a budget phone is, of course, a monoblock. But even here there are exceptions. For example, Samsung B520 is an elegant and compact slider. Think about it: a couple of years ago, a device in a sliding case was considered a particularly status and prestigious thing, but now we can find a model for 2400 rubles (the very ceiling of the budget segment, but still less than a hundred dollars), where, in addition to it, there is also an MP3 player with support for microSD memory cards, and FM radio, and Bluetooth. Compared to the above described Nokia 1208 - heaven and earth - and the difference in price is only a thousand rubles.

In addition, Samsung is strong in the production of inexpensive clamshells. The Samsung X480 model once became a bestseller: a compact and stylish “book”, not burdened with unnecessary functions, was bought by girls, older women, men, students, and schoolchildren. Now there is no such bestseller in the model range of the Korean vendor, but the number of available clamshells pleases the eye.

In the class of budget phones, you can find a huge number of models. I think you were able to appreciate its boundaries and the capabilities of the devices that it includes. Now, on to the next class.

The buyer of models of this class usually wants to get a modern and rather “fancy” device for the minimum amount. As a matter of fact, this amount is usually $100-200. A modern middle-class model usually has a good color display, a GPRS module, sometimes a Bluetooth interface, a media player, a slot for connecting flash cards, and a built-in camera. As a rule, the efficiency of the device is expressed in such details as the small resolution of the built-in camera, not the highest quality screen matrix. However, in the middle segment you can find many interesting models that are not much inferior to more expensive devices.
For example Philips Xenium [email protected] for about $ 120, the main feature of which is the declared battery life on a single charge in standby mode - about 1 month.

In the same class you can find a lot of other interesting offers. For example, LG KG280 with touch controls, ageless Motorola V3, Nokia 5000, Samsung SGH-J700, Samsung SGH-X650.

In the middle class, you can find many interesting offers. As a rule, if a phone costs more than $200, then it is no longer just a phone, but a device belonging to one of the classes that we will discuss below.

Image phone, as the name suggests, should work for the image of its owner. As a rule, these are models that are bright in every sense, which stand out for their unusual design, catchy or, conversely, emphasized restrained colors and body material. As a rule, fashion phones are a little more expensive than their counterparts of similar capabilities.

If the Armani model (P520) from Samsung should have been classified as a premium segment, then Samsung Emporio Armani does not claim to this niche. On the other hand, this is a device with a simply extraordinary concentration of image charge. The device is very nice - for example, the appearance of modern mobile phones often evokes neutral emotions for me, but the design of Samsung Emporio Armani is not one of those. A worthy fashion solution aimed at young people, attractive due to its interesting appearance, luminous sidewalls, sufficient functionality, affordable price and ideal positioning.

A typical mid-priced fashion device (about $500) is the Nokia 7900 Crystal Prism. The device was developed with the participation of designer and artist Frédéric Daubal and has a newfangled "faceted" design.

Among the fashion phones, the so-called women's phones stand out quite clearly. Typically, such a device resembles a powder box or lipstick, often its body is decorated with rhinestones or ornate painting. A typical female phone is the Nokia 7380. It is made in the form factor of a stick - using the device, of course, is inconvenient, but all the friends are jealous! Large manufacturers have entire lines of ladies' mobile phones - for example, La Fleur from Samsung or L'Amour from Nokia.

Recently, manufacturers have learned how to build good cameras into cell phones and equip them with a good audio part. This led to the formation of two classes of devices - camera phones and music phones.

The first mobile phones equipped with a camera were mostly proud of the fact that they had this camera. The quality and resolution of the images was not high, but it turned out that the cameras have become the most popular “add-on” to the functionality of a mobile phone. As a result, today it is quite difficult to find a GSM-phone without the possibility of taking pictures. But in some models, the camera is just a tribute to fashion, and in some it is a serious device that can compete in terms of image quality with inexpensive digital cameras. It was the phones focused on photo and video shooting that were called camera phones. In general, this is an ordinary phone, but, as a rule, it has a good built-in camera, flash, sometimes autofocus illumination, dedicated buttons that increase the convenience of shooting. In the second half of 2008, the procession of 8-megapixel cameras began, respectively, today they can be called full-fledged camera phones.

No one could have thought that the Korean vendor would overtake Nokia in its own field and be the first to introduce an 8-megapixel camera, and in addition, based on the S60 platform. Yes, why trifle - Samsung i8510 is definitely the most powerful, most functional device on the market. For its time, it is, perhaps, the same as the Nokia N95 for its time - a solution that everyone will look up to.

By the way, for a long time the above-named Nokia N95 was considered the device with the best 5-megapixel camera. But quite recently, the Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5 (by the way, the first camera phone of an American company) appeared on sale, and all the laurels passed to it. Yes, you won't surprise anyone with a 5-megapixel camera today, but the MOTOZINE ZN5 has perhaps the best sensor in existence.

Now let's look at music phones.

In music phones, everything is aimed at making listening to music on the phone as convenient as using an audio player. As a rule, such phones have separate buttons to control the playback process, built-in speakers to improve the quality of music playback. A headset is usually supplied with the phone.

A typical music phone is the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. This is perhaps the most popular music phone of the last two years - at least, young people use it indiscriminately. Excellent device with good value for money.

Personally, I really like the musical model Samsung M3510 - a worthy youth solution with a boring appearance, and everything else from the Beat music line (note: not Beatz, which has already sunk into oblivion, but Beat). The novelty looks fresh, catches the eye and is able to compete with solutions from Nokia. In terms of functionality, the Samsung M3510 is a typical mid-ranger, which, nevertheless, will cope with the musical demands of the consumer with a bang.

Other music phones include Motorola ROKR E8, Samsung SGH-F210.

Now let's look at another type of phone - business class.

A typical business-class phone is a discreet, well-equipped device. Most of these phones are equipped with all the relevant interfaces for communicating with other devices - usually Bluetooth and, more often, Wi-Fi. Such a phone usually has one of the form factors that have become classic - a monoblock, a book or a slider. Users who need a phone for work value comfort, so these phones usually have fairly comfortable, conservative controls. The design of a business phone has calm tones, it usually comes with some set of useful programs - such as an email client, office software, etc. A business phone can cost $200 or more. A typical business phone (to be more precise, a smartphone) is the Nokia E66, which managed to combine a business focus and a charismatic design.

Smartphones differ from communicators in a very thin detail. Namely, it is customary to call a smartphone a “smart” phone that has the functions of a pocket computer, but looks like a regular phone. A communicator is a pocket computer, supplemented by the functionality of a cell phone. As a rule, communicators are very similar to PDAs - at least they very often have a touch screen. Among communicators you can find various non-standard form factors and other interesting technologies. For example, QWERTY keyboards, GPS navigators, television receivers (for the time being, unfortunately, such devices are useless in Russia).

There are relatively few smartphones that are positioned only as smartphones. As a rule, in the environment of phones costing more than $300, smartphones act as fashion models, as business phones, as camera phones, and as player phones. Communicators, as a rule, are positioned precisely as universal devices that can handle many tasks.

A typical smartphone is the Nokia N79, which incorporates all the best that has been created in the N-series of Nokia in recent years.

Popular communicators include the following: E-Ten Glofiish X800 for about $700, HTC P3400 for $400, Nokia E71, Samsung i780, E-Ten Glofiish M750.

Navigators are usually called devices that have a built-in GPS receiver and are oriented to work as a GPS navigator. As a rule, the title of navigator is mainly given to PDAs equipped with GPS modules, but a GPS communicator can also be called that, especially if it comes with a car mount and charger. After all, navigators are, first of all, drivers' companions. By the way, many phones support the connection of external GPS-navigators, for example, via the Bluetooth protocol, thus turning into navigation devices.

Among the phones with built-in GPS transmitters are HTC TyTN II, HTC Advantage X7510, HTC Touch Cruise, E-Ten Glofiish M810.

Phones for extreme conditions can be divided into a separate class. They are not available in the arsenal of all manufacturers, at least, only a few models are available for general sale. The main distinguishing feature of such phones is a protected rubberized case, which gives them a very distinctive look. However, not all secure phones are the same. For example, Samsung SGH-M110 is protected at a basic level and has low functionality. Sony Ericsson C702 is a rugged camera phone, while Nokia 5500 Sport is a rugged smartphone.

Interestingly, if earlier Samsung was completely absent in this class, now, in fact, only it represents dust and moisture-proof novelties. For example, the Samsung B2700 model, which, among other things, has good functionality.

Tachphones - (from "touch" - touch) - this is a relatively new type of phone, which is controlled using touch displays. The most famous touch phone at the moment is the Apple iPhone. To all appearances, the success of this phone is reminiscent of the success of the first "thin" device Motorola RAZR V3, which gave birth to a whole trend of thin clamshells. There are many touch screen devices on the market today. For example, Samsung SGH-F490, LG KE990 Viewty. Samsung PIXON, LG Renoir and, of course, “our everything” Nokia 5800 XPressMusic are on the way.

In fact, "renoir" is a continuation of the ideology laid down by the Viewty model. Compared to its predecessor, there are many developments - in addition to an 8-megapixel camera, this is a completely redesigned interface, an improved player, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi, GPS support. In my opinion, with a price reduction to 15-16 thousand, Renoir will become one of the best deals on the market in the high-tech segment (and another worthy rival for the iPhone)

Premium-class models, as a rule, do not shine with high functionality (their customers do not need this), but they please the eye with expensive, sometimes exclusive finishing materials (metal, sapphire glass, gold, diamonds) and status design. If the device costs less than 50 thousand rubles, then it is unlikely that it can be fully classified as a premium segment. For example, Vertu produces very expensive phones in a unique design. Devices Vertu Ascent and Vertu Constellation belong to the lower price range of the brand - their cost starts around $8000.

Models of the Vertu Signature Diamonds series are phones made of gold or platinum and decorated (and sometimes even studded) with precious stones. Imagine how much this phone costs! During the financial crisis, such figures are even sad to pronounce ...

Prices for Mobiado devices (for example, Luminoso models) fluctuate around $3,000. These phones are, of course, more modest than Vertu, but also not too simple. Another thing is that in our homeland the majority buys such devices not for self-satisfaction, but to flaunt the contents of the wallet. Here, the “mobiado” devices, even if made of mahogany, do not work: your circle of friends knows what a “vertu” is, but does not know what a “mobiado” is - accordingly, they will not understand how much you paid for it.

Models of the 8th Nokia series, on the one hand, should be classified as a fashion segment, on the other hand, as a premium one. We are closer to the second, considering that every year the 8800 models are getting closer and closer (in terms of materials, finish, interface) to Vertu. Model 8800 Arte already now you can find it for less than 30 thousand rubles - not so bad if you take into account its initial cost of sixty thousand.

We have considered various classes of cell phones and their representatives. Do not forget that one phone can belong to several segments at once - for example, it can be both a touch phone and a camera phone at the same time. However, this is probably a good thing.

» we talked about the shortcomings of this manufacturer's mobile devices, forcing users to choose other brands.

Today Lifehacker will reveal another big problem with Xiaomi smartphones, because of which I had to write an entire guide. We are talking about the model range and naming.

It is easy for apple growers to live. If they want to upgrade their mobile, they choose between three iPhones: a regular one, a large Plus, and a compact SE. At Xiaomi, we counted about 30 more or less current smartphone models. This is without taking into account versions with different amounts of RAM and storage.

And now another person who has read about the benefits of Xiaomi enters some online store, sees dozens of different, but at the same time very similar smartphones in front of him, and immediately falls into a deep stupor. Familiar? That is why Lifehacker created this guide.

Now we will quickly make you a real connoisseur of the Xiaomi smartphone range. Go!

Xiaomi classification

Despite the apparent diversity, Xiaomi has only two lines of smartphones:

  1. Xiaomi Mi are mostly flagship smartphones. As a rule, more expensive, powerful, high-quality, with excellent cameras and excellent build quality. The latest Xiaomi Mi compete with the top models of the world's A-brands.
  2. Xiaomi Redmi is mainly budget smartphones, mid-range ones, some of which, however, claim flagship status. Redmi is able to meet the needs of the vast majority of users and is much more affordable.

What are Xiaomi Mi

Xiaomi Mi is divided into four series: simply Mi, Mi Note, Mi Max and Mi Mix.

Mi

Classic top smartphones with a standard screen size of 5.15 inches. The best stuffing, the best displays, the best cameras, discreet conservative design and construction without any obvious features. The Mi series can be considered the standard, foundation and face of the older Xiaomi smartphone range.

The most recent at the time of writing is a smartphone.

  • Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor.
  • 6 GB of RAM.
  • 5.15" Full HD IPS display covering 71.4% of the front panel.
  • 64 or 128 GB storage.
  • A version with a ceramic body is available.

The previous generation of Mi at number 5 is still relevant and will be in great demand for a long time to come. This is because the flagships get the best stuffing with a huge margin for the future.

The Mi5 generation is represented by five models:

  • - base model based on Snapdragon 820 with Full HD screen. The body is made of glass and metal.
  • Mi5 Pro is an older version of the classic Mi5 with more memory. The model is available in an incredibly beautiful and stylish ceramic case.
  • Mi5S is an updated version of Mi5 based on Snapdragon 821 in a metal case.
  • is a version of Mi5S with a 5.7-inch screen and a dual main camera. Due to the increased display size, it can be considered as an alternative to the Mi Note series, which will be discussed below.
  • Mi5c is not a very successful attempt by the company to release a smartphone with a processor of its own production.

Mi note

Mi Note is a series of Xiaomi flagship phablets with a screen size of 5.7 inches.

A phablet is a smartphone with a large display, i.e. a hybrid of a smartphone and a tablet.

Obviously, due to the increased dimensions, such devices are not suitable for everyone, as they often simply do not fit in a pocket.

The strength of phablets is the large screen, which is more convenient to surf, watch videos and play games.

The most recent at the time of writing is the phablet.

  • Quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor.
  • 4 or 6 GB of RAM.
  • 5.7" Full HD AMOLED display.
  • 64 or 128 GB storage.

The first generation of phablets, represented by the standard Mi Note model and the advanced version of Mi Note Pro with increased memory and a higher resolution screen, cannot boast of the most up-to-date stuffing, but it costs significantly less than Mi Note 2.

Please note: in addition to the Mi Note series, the Mi5S Plus, equipped with a 5.7-inch screen, can rightly be attributed to the Xiaomi phablet line.

Mi Max

If you think that the 5.7-inch screens of Mi Note phablets are already too much, then just take a look at the Mi Max series with a 6.44-inch display! It is obvious that it is more reasonable to consider such large devices primarily as a tablet with a dialer, rather than as a smartphone.

The most recent at the time of writing is the Mi Max 2 phablet.

  • Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor.
  • 4 GB of RAM.
  • 6.44 inch Full HD IPS display.
  • Battery 5 300 mAh.
  • Camera like Mi6.

Please note: it is equipped with a Snapdragon 650 processor, which is slightly inferior to the 625th in overall performance, but wins in graphics.

Mi Mix

This is innovation in its purest form. Bezel-less design, giant screen, good hardware, clever sound transmission technology, ceramic body and a price to match.

  • Snapdragon 821 octa-core processor.
  • 4 or 6 GB of RAM.
  • 6.4-inch 2K IPS display covering 91.3% of the front panel.
  • Storage 128 or 256 GB.

What are Xiaomi Redmi

Xiaomi Redmi is divided into three series: simply Redmi, Redmi Note and Redmi Pro.

Redmi

Classic smartphones with a standard screen size of 5 inches. Unlike the flagship Mi, the Redmi lineup is more diverse. Here you will find both frankly cheap devices made of plastic and with an entry-level processor, as well as very productive mid-rangers with claims for flagship status.

At the moment, the fourth generation of Redmi is relevant, represented by four models:

  • Redmi 4 is the base model based on Snapdragon 430 with HD screen. The body is made of metal.
  • Redmi 4 Pro is an older version of Redmi 4 with a more powerful Snapdragon 625 processor, a Full HD screen and more memory.
  • Redmi 4X is an intermediate option between the base and older models based on Snapdragon 435. The processor is slightly better than that of Redmi 4, the screen is the same. Versions are available with a memory capacity identical to both the base and older Redmi 4 models.
  • Redmi 4A is an ultra-budget phone based on Snapdragon 425 in a polycarbonate case. The perfect entry-level smartphone.

Redmi note

Redmi Note is a series of 5.5-inch (Full HD, IPS) Xiaomi smartphones. is a series of 5.5-inch (Full HD, AMOLED) Xiaomi smartphones based on MediaTek Helio X20 and X25 with a front-facing fingerprint sensor and a dual main camera.

Did this classification help you? Have you got a clear understanding of the Xiaomi smartphone range in your head? If not, then no big deal. There are really so many Xiaomi smartphones that it is already impossible to organize them.

We are by no means suggesting that all manufacturers should follow Apple's example, that is, release one or two smartphones, telling everyone that this is how it should be. Freedom of choice is important, but everything is good in moderation.

We hope that in the near future Xiaomi will put things in order and make everything clear to everyone.

And here you will find a detailed guide to Meizu smartphones.

The Chinese brand Xiaomi, which produces powerful smartphones at quite attractive prices, is gaining more and more popularity every year. The classification of Xiaomi smartphones is also expanding. If you are thinking about purchasing a modern Xiaomi device, the classification of models will come in handy. Each phone will differ in its technical characteristics. Xiaomi classification will help you choose a smartphone for work, entertainment or communication with friends.

Main model lines

The brand first released a phone in 2011. Immediately after going on sale, the Mi 1 model gained unexpected popularity. Manufacturers continued to delight fans of the brand and almost immediately released a more budget Redmi phone. Since then, the number of different models has only increased (now their number reaches 30), but the main lines remain 2:

  • the flagship Xiaomi Mi, which has collected all the latest technologies;
  • budget Xiaomi Redmi, designed for a less demanding user.

Despite the apparent diversity, Xiaomi has only two lines of smartphones

Xiaomi Mi is the time-tested flagship

The first smartphone of the line - Mi 1 - captivated users with good technical characteristics and a stylish body. All this combined with a fairly reasonable price.

note

Even then, the budget smartphone of this brand was equipped with a camera with an 8 megapixel module.

Over time, the line has expanded. But as before, in the classification of Xiaomi smartphones, it is Mi that is considered the benchmark of the Xiaomi brand. Today there are several series:

  • Mi Mix.

All smartphones of the Mi series (and there are currently 6 of them) differ in standard screen size, top-end stuffing and excellent camera. For example, the latest model is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor based on 8 cores. A large amount of RAM allows you to install all the necessary programs. The internal memory for storing media files also did not let us down - 64 or 128 GB are available.

The owner of this smartphone can show his individuality by choosing a device with an unusual body color (by the way, even ceramic panels are presented here) or by experimenting with the design of the shell.

The history of Xiaomi as a smartphone manufacturer began with the release of Mi-One

Do not forget about previous models. Older ones and still remain relevant, because the manufacturer created the content of the smartphone with a reserve for the future.

In an effort to cover the largest possible market, the company released several Mi5 smartphones at once:

  • A basic smartphone with a glass and metal body. As a hardware filling, a new (at the time of release) Snapdragon 820 processor is used. The screen is made as Full HD.
  • "Big brother", Mi5 Pro. Its main difference is the increased amount of memory. The use of ceramics in the manufacture of the case was also tested here. The result exceeded all expectations and it was this version of the smartphone that became the most popular.
  • Mi5S was released a little later, so it used a different processor, Snapdragon 821. It also uses a more classic metal body.
  • Some users were dissatisfied with not the largest screen size, so the company released Mi5S. The smartphone received a 5.7-inch display and a dual camera, firmly occupying the niche of tablets.
  • Mi5c, in which Xiaomi used its own processor for the first time.

The second series - Mi Note - occupies a special place in the classification of Xiaomi smartphones and represents the mixture of smartphone and tablet that is popular today. So far, only 4 devices have been presented to the attention of users.

Will be useful

The classic first-generation smartphone is equipped with a 5.7-inch 1080p screen and a modern processor.

In order to expand the range in January 2015, Mi Note and Mi Note Pro were announced.

The second generation smartphone () is also presented in the same series, Note 3 is being prepared for release, and there is also an improved version of Note Pro. The latter boasts an increased display diagonal and internal memory, but otherwise its capabilities are inferior to the classic Note. However, the price for the Pro version also remains an order of magnitude lower.

The third series was named Mi Max due to its incredibly large display. Here its diagonal is a record 6.44 inches. At the moment, there are two smartphones on sale. Their names, respectively, differ in the numbers 1 and 2.

The newer second generation phone is equipped, in addition to a large screen, a powerful Snapdragon 625 processor, a 5300 mAh battery and ample RAM.

If you think that the 5.7-inch screens of Mi Note phablets are already too much, then just take a look at the Mi Max series with a 6.44-inch display

The Xiaomi brand has something to offer even lovers of innovation. Powerful hardware combined with all the latest technology has given birth to the Mi Mix series. It is here that you can find a screen with a diagonal of 6.4 inches and a high 2K resolution. Other advantages of the series include 8 processor cores, audio playback technology and a large allowable amount of internal memory (up to 256 GB). However, the price of smartphones in this series will be much higher.

In general, all four series differ from each other, focusing on a different user. However, there are also brand similarities that favorably distinguish smartphones from the Mi line among their counterparts:

  • the build quality of the case and the use of durable parts;
  • corporate design;
  • good cameras with a module from 8 megapixels in the first models and from 13 megapixels in more modern phones;
  • the use of Qualcomm processors, which are characterized by high performance;
  • timely firmware update.

Budget Xiaomi Redmi

After the success of the first flagships, Xiaomi began to explore the market for more budget models. It was decided to call the new line Redmi. Today the line is divided into three popular series:

  • classic Redmi;

The Redmi series is designed for undemanding users

The classification of Xiaomi models should start with the classic Redmi budget line. At the moment, 4 devices have been released in this series (Redmi 1/2/3/4 respectively). Modifications are quite different. There are devices with a metal case, claiming to be similar to the flagship, there are simpler options with a plastic back panel. The "stuffing" is also quite motley - different modifications can boast of different amounts of memory or processor performance.

Today, the latest novelty from the series is relevant - the fourth generation. Similar to Mi5, which was detailed above, The smartphone is available in several models:

  • Classic base model. It is made in a stylish metal case. Inside - the Snapdragon processor The screen has a diagonal of 5 inches and a high HD resolution.
  • The "big brother" of the classics is Redmi Pro. It is equipped with a more powerful processor, more memory and a Full HD screen.
  • Redmi 4X - the model is based on the Snapdragon 435 processor. The display diagonal remains classic, 5-inch.
  • Redmi 4A is a real gift for lovers of budget models with a basic set of features. The case is made of practical polycarbonate.

The second series - Redmi Note - received an enlarged display. Now its dimensions are 5.5 inches.

Will be useful

The case design has also changed. In the previous budget smartphones of the brand, the main emphasis was on practical polycarbonate, and with the release of the new series, smartphones began to acquire elegance and high cost.

As you might guess from the name, Redmi Note is the same affordable smartphones, but with larger screens.

Today the Note series includes the following models:

  • Redmi Note 3 Pro;

The series received several flagship features, such as a fingerprint sensor.

The release of the third line of Redmi Pro marked the use of a dual front camera. Otherwise, the functionality and capabilities remain the same: there is a fingerprint sensor, a powerful and fast MediaTek Helio X20 processor is built in.

Redmi Pro is a series of 5.5-inch Xiaomi smartphones with a front-facing fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras.

In general, all Redmi smartphones have a certain similarity:

  • Although they have good powerful processors built into them (in most models this is MediaTek), the devices are still designed for unpretentious users, which means that powerful games are best left to other devices.
  • The design of all smartphones is quite minimalistic. Indeed, the case began to be made of aluminum, but the quality of the materials still cannot be compared with the brand's top phones.
  • The line remains budget due to the reduction of functionality. However, those technical capabilities that were left by the developers were carried out in accordance with the latest technologies and developments.

Xiaomi tablets

Xiaomi's classification would be incomplete without mentioning the tablet line. Already during the launch of the first smartphones and their success with users, it became clear that the launch of other gadgets is only a matter of time. Indeed, very soon (in 2014) the company presented its fans with the first tablet of its own production.

A series of tablets called MiPad. Today, the line of tablets includes three generations of one device. The first generation MiPad combined good technical specifications and a budget plastic case. Among the main competitors of the model, the iPad Mini can be noted - the new product from Xiaomi received a similar screen size (7.9 inches).

  • RAM - 3 GB, and user internal memory - 64 GB;
  • two cameras with 5 and 13 MP modules;
  • the volume of the lithium-ion battery is 6600 mAh.
  • Today, Xiaomi is able to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding consumer. In its classification of models, Xiaomi has placed both trendy smartphones with a full range of the latest features and budget phones - simple workhorses. Most likely, the work of the company will continue and there are many more surprises ahead of the fans of the brand.

    Good day, friends!

    Today, you will not surprise anyone with a mobile phone that can take pictures, access the Internet, shoot high-quality videos, work with documents, etc. Moreover, progress does not stand still, and most of these functions are already able to do even wristwatches, for example - iWatch (Apple). But how can everyone figure it out if you previously had an ordinary mobile phone without all this, which could just call and send/receive SMS? This is what will be discussed in today's article - about smartphones.

    So, what is a smartphone, what functions does it have, and what you need to pay attention to in order to choose the “right” smartphone and be satisfied with your gadget.

    Smartphone(eng. Smartphone, “smart phone”) - supplemented with the functionality of a pocket personal computer (PDA).

    Smartphone features

    The main functions of the smartphone are:

    - Internet access;
    — functions of photo/video filming, as well as a voice recorder;
    - audio / video playback of records;
    - reading e-books, various documents;
    - work with e-mail;
    — GPS navigator;
    - All kinds of records: memos, contact information, lists, databases.
    — Typing, programming.
    - All kinds of games;
    - Work with office applications;
    - Control various electronic devices: projector, DVD player, and more.
    - Of course, making calls, SMS, MMS have not gone away;
    - Stopping other programs, thanks to which the smartphone actually turns into a mini-computer.

    Smartphone Disadvantages

    - Sometimes sizes. For example, it is not very convenient to use a smartphone with a screen of 5 inches or more with one hand;

    Most smartphones drain very quickly. Some of them need to be charged literally once a day, or even more often.

    “You need to be careful when using smartphones. Large screens very often stop working when dropped. Their control is touch-sensitive, then even making a call will not work. I remember the Nokia 3310, in terms of indestructibility - no comparison. 🙂

    — Smartphones are more sensitive to the environment in which they operate. For example, if the temperature is below zero, then the screens literally freeze, and the phone literally refuses to work. If the humidity is high, condensation may form under the glass.

    — Application developers want to know almost everything about you. When you install any program, it asks you to allow access to everything that is possible, starting from your contacts in the phone book, SMS, the duration of calls to your place of residence. I suspect that the developers of both smartphones and applications for them officially do not even open everything to the average user.

    - I don’t know if you paid attention or not, but when you enter the subway car you can see that just a huge number of people are constantly on their phones, and if you look at some statistics, you can conclude that modern gadgets develop addiction in people. I will say that sometimes it is useful to take a walk in nature without electronics.

    - For people who are far from technology, it will be more difficult to understand the menu. After all, even to just call, you no longer need to press 1-2 buttons, but go here and there.

    Of course, each person chooses for himself what is an advantage for him and what is a disadvantage in a smartphone, so you will continue the rest of the list yourself, for example, in the comments to the article. 😉

    Smartphone Features

    After the first acquaintance with smartphones, let's move on to studying their characteristics and figure out how to choose a smartphone?.

    1. Manufacturer. Oddly enough, but unlike most other technology, choosing a smartphone is better to start with choosing a manufacturer. This is, firstly, a guarantee of the quality and durability of the device. Secondly, the performance of the gadget. After all, as you know, with the same technical characteristics, devices can radically differ in speed.

    Smartphone leaders are: Apple, Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, Nokia, Sony, LG.

    2. Number of SIM cards. With today's variety of mobile operators, as well as their conditions, many users have 2-3 or more SIM cards. Previously, we just opened the back cover of the phone and changed them. Now you can purchase a phone into which you can insert 2 SIM cards at once, and make/receive a call with the most beneficial one for us.

    Conclusion: If you are economical, it is better to take a phone with 2 SIM cards.

    3. Display. The smartphone screen has several characteristics:

    - Screen diagonal. Buy a smartphone with a display that fits comfortably in your hand. I have a 5-inch smartphone, but my hand is also big. It is already extremely inconvenient for my wife to use my phone.

    — Matrix type. The most popular are AMOLED, super AMOLED and IPS. Moreover, some people like one option, others another. Personally, I prefer IPS.

    - Screen resolution. The higher the screen resolution, the better. Firstly, watching high-resolution videos is much more pleasant, and secondly, the quality and clarity of displaying documents, photos, websites, games and other applications will be much higher.

    - Protection of the display from ingress of dust and moisture;

    - Special glass that protects the screen from scratches

    Conclusion: It is better to buy a smartphone with a diagonal of 4-5 inches, IPS, with a resolution of 960 * 540 (the optimal average is 1280 * 720), and a protected surface from moisture and scratches.

    4. Processor (CPU). All modern smartphones, like computers, have their own “brain”, which is technically called a “processor”. There are 1, 2, 4, 8 processors and I think in the future there will be 16 or more core ones. The more cores, the faster and more stable the smartphone will perform several tasks at the same time.

    Also, processors have a clock speed. The higher it is, the faster the phone thinks.

    Conclusion: It is better to purchase a phone if possible, with a processor of 4 cores from 1.2-1.5 GHz.

    5. Random access memory (RAM). RAM affects the speed of all applications, especially dynamic ones, such as games or watching high-definition movies. Most mid-range smartphones have 1GB of RAM, but I'm not mistaken if I say that for heavy smartphone users this is the minimum figure.

    Conclusion: It is best to purchase a smartphone with RAM 1.5-2 GB and above.

    6. Permanent (built-in) memory. This is actually an indicator of how much information you can store on your smartphone. The more, the better, of course, because. year after year, and sometimes more often, programs, videos and other applications take up more and more space. If the memory is low, before writing something, you will need to delete something.

    Conclusion: It is better to buy a smartphone with an internal memory of at least 8-16 GB

    7. Internet connection. The smartphone can be connected to the Internet using 3G / 4G modules, standard means of mobile operators or using a Wi-Fi module.

    The cheapest way to Wi-Fi (wireless networks). Places with free access to the Internet using Wi-Fi are only growing from year to year, these are airports, McDonald's, parks, hotels, etc. Where I live, there is free Internet even on the Dnieper embankment, although there are no establishments relatively close by. Excellent technology. All smartphones have a Wi-Fi module, but pay attention to what type of connection it has. Standards are: a, b, c, g, n, ac. “a” is the slowest Internet and the shortest range of the wireless network, “ac” is the largest. The more connection types, the more versatile the smartphone, i.e. it can be connected to almost any Wi-Fi network.

    3g. If you use the Internet through a 3G module, the connection speed is higher, and the price for the service is less than the means of connecting to the network with the standard functions of mobile operators.

    4G. The Internet is much faster than the 3G standard, but also more expensive.

    Conclusion: Choose a smartphone with Wi-Fi a/b/c/g/n/ac, 3G/4G.

    8. Camera. Today, there are smartphones with 1 or 2 cameras (one front, the second back). If you often communicate with someone via Skype, then not only will you be able to see your interlocutor, but he will also see you.

    A photo. In addition, cameras are characterized by shooting resolution, which is measured in pixels. The more mega-pixels, the bigger and better the photos will be. Of course, there are exceptions, if, for example, cheap Chinese or "basement" optics are worth it.

    As for the front camera, ie. the one that is located on the front side of the phone, then it does not have to have a very high resolution, because. High-resolution video is difficult to transmit over the Internet, and most likely, if the Internet is not of very high quality, your interlocutor will not see you.

    Video. The quality of the video is also affected by the resolution of the camera, the quality of the optics as well as the hardware features. Please note that the smartphone can record video with a resolution, preferably FullHD (1920 * 1080). This is due to the fact that most modern TVs and monitors show an image with exactly this resolution. Then your video will be clear and play beautifully on modern devices displaying information.

    By the way, I want to note that premium phones already know how to shoot video with a resolution of 4K (4096 × 3112). True, TVs with this resolution are sold far beyond 100,000 UAH (from 11,000 USD)

    Conclusion: The optimal resolution of the main camera is 8 megapixels, front 2.

    9. Battery. Battery capacity is measured in mAh. The higher this indicator, the longer the period of time you will not need to charge the device. Most smartphones have a battery capacity of 1800 to 3500 mAh.

    10. GPS. The presence of a GPS navigation system in devices (satellite navigation system) is now difficult to underestimate. You can go anywhere in the world, and if you have maps installed on your smartphone, a GPS navigator will help you find your way out.

    There is also A-GPS technology, which allows you to determine your location more quickly and accurately. The disadvantage is that A-GPS for geopositioning additionally uses an Internet connection, which actually makes this service "paid".

    Glonass- Soviet / Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. In practice, Glonass is an analogue of GPS, the only thing is that communication with satellites is more stable.

    In addition, a compass can be installed on most smartphones.

    Nevertheless, it is desirable to be able to navigate the terrain even without electronics. After all, the ability to recharge the phone in extreme conditions is not always possible.

    Conclusion: It is better to purchase a smartphone with GPS, Glonass functions.

    11. Operating system (OS). Early mobile phones had standard firmware with the standard features needed for a regular mobile phone: call, SMS, MMS, phone book, calendar, alarm clock, a couple of "light" games and a few more functions. But, keeping up with the times, manufacturers decided to expand the functionality of phones, and operating systems for smartphones were born.

    The most popular operating systems for smartphones today are iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. It's all about the taste of everyone. I will only note that iOS is used only in Apple products.

    Conclusion: Pay attention to the OS version. If the version is outdated, then this may indicate that this smartphone model is outdated.

    12. Ability to expand the internal memory. This can be done with an additional flash drive. When choosing a flash drive, pay attention to its class. The higher it is, the faster information is read / written on it, the faster the flash drive will work.

    Conclusion: Get a flash drive with at least 32 GB of at least class 10.

    13. Design. Choose only a design that you really like. Fortunately, the variety is great, and if not, then “dress” your phone in some interesting case.

    Additional smartphone features

    Depending on the manufacturer, smartphones have many additional features, such as:
    - FM receiver;
    - Ability to connect additional devices (Gear watch, which measures the heart rate monitor, accelerometer, call / receive calls and much more);
    - activation by fingerprint;
    - LED flash;
    - video editor;
    — standard sets of calendar, alarm clock, weather, and much more.

    Which smartphone to choose?

    Based on the foregoing, a smartphone with the following characteristics will be excellent:

    4.5-5 inch IPS (1920*1080)/ RAM 1.5-2Gb/16-32Gb internal storage/Wi-Fi a, b, c, g, n, ac/Bluetooth 4.

    Everything else is up to you.

    How much does a smartphone cost?

    • A smartphone with minimal features can be purchased for about 100-120 USD.
    • Intermediate level - 200-250 USD
    • High-end smartphones start at $500.

    On this note, perhaps, everything. Didn't forget anything? If so, let me know in the comments.

    I wish you success, dear readers, in buying the best smartphone that will always delight you!

    The computer has long been a reliable companion of man. With its help, an ordinary person can get access to a huge database of information and media files, simplify work, and professionals, scientists can quickly and efficiently carry out calculations and simulations. Ten years ago, compact computers - smartphones - came to the masses. By the end of 2017, they appeared in almost every pocket. And it just so happened that the average life of a modern phone is a year and a half, after which the once ideal device goes to a distant box.

    But many people do not intend to change devices so often. In addition, the performance of smartphones is enough for a couple of years. The only problem is the quality of the devices - after a few months of use, many models begin to "crumble": the screen turns yellow, the battery capacity is lost, the case is scratched. But there are also real centenarians who will delight the user for several years.

    In this review, you will find, in our opinion, some of the best phones in terms of quality and reliability. For us, such indicators of a mobile phone (smartphone) as:

    1. Affordable price. The phone should not cost too much, because a high price is not always an indicator of quality. And the fact that the device should be affordable is extremely important.
    2. The absence of a large number of negative reviews on the reliability of work, warranty claims, poor assembly.
    3. Specifications. The rating includes phones that can compete in terms of their technical characteristics with other models in the same price segment.

    The highest quality inexpensive phones: budget up to 10,000 rubles

    3 Nokia 5.1 16GB

    Rugged body and screen
    Country: Finland
    Average price: 8880 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.6

    A neat monoblock from the legendary Nokia, which is famous for its high-quality and reliable phones. This is an inexpensive model with screen protection from scratches and the presence of NFC - a module for contactless payment. Inside there is a simple processor from Mediatek, 2 GB of RAM and 16 constant. There are no serious complaints about this Nokia in the reviews - everyone is satisfied with the high-quality assembly, the inexpensive price, and its trouble-free operation.

    One of the users notes that with a significant load, the case heats up noticeably - this is a consequence of using the Mediatek chip. Otherwise, this is a cheap unit for daily use. Specifications are selected with care for the user, so the phone turned out to be very ergonomic. And compactness with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and the absence of "bangs" the manufacturer has achieved an aspect ratio of 18 to 9.

    2 Samsung Galaxy J1

    Basic functionality at an affordable price
    Country: Korea
    Average price: 6270 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.8

    The second place in the ranking is given to such a popular manufacturer from Korea. An excellent choice for those who are ready to spend from 6,000 to 7,000 rubles on a phone. Samsung is already one hundred percent build quality. Diagonal size of 4.5 inches - for those who do not like a huge phone. Beautiful design. Remarkable battery capacity of 2050 mAh. for a not very large display, it will give more time for use without recharging, according to reviews, the battery lasts more than two days.

    The Amoled screen is unconditional image quality and energy saving. Very fast internet with 4G LTE support. This is facilitated by the technical filling of the device: a total memory of 8 and 1 GB is operational, a quad-core processor with an outdated but stable version of Android 5.1 makes the smartphone trouble-free. A high-quality 5 MP camera, a 2 MP front camera and the ability to record videos provide a full-fledged opportunity to communicate in social networks and in life. It's hard to find something better for this budget price. According to consumer reviews - one of the best models for 2016.

    User Reviews

    Pros: Acceptable price. Screen. Build quality and specifications. Nimble and reliable. The presence of GLONASS in combination with GPS gives an accurate geolocation. Camera with video function. Processor with 4 cores. Excellent sound when talking and as speakers. Design.

    Cons: The camera shoots decently only in good lighting. Poor equipment: no USB cable. No oleophobic coating

    1 Xiaomi Redmi 5 3/32GB

    Work without freezes
    Country: China
    Average price: 10439 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 5.0

    Inexpensive, but at the same time a high-quality smartphone with thin bezels and a simple, uncomplicated design. The model comes on Android 8, decorated with the MIUI shell. The software pleases with the absence of freezes, lags and brakes. The Snapdragon 450 processor is powerful enough for daily and light gaming tasks, and at the same time it has a modest power consumption. Therefore, in combination with a 3.3 Ah battery and an economical HD + screen resolution, the battery life can exceed three days.

    The model is already more than a year old, and during this time of testing, it has shown itself to be one of the best quality phones in the budget up to 10,000 rubles. The case is made of plastic and metal, and it is durable enough to withstand household drops. The screen is not covered with an anti-scratch coating, so for safety, it is better to stick a protective glass on it.

    The highest quality phones: budget up to 20,000 rubles

    3 Apple iPhone 6S 32GB

    Reliable operation of the operating system
    Country: USA
    Average price: 21900 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.7

    This is the most budget smartphone on iOS, which has not lost its relevance in 2019. The model is definitely not suitable for gamers and those who are demanding on hardware, but it will appeal to those who use a smartphone for such daily tasks: surfing the net, making calls, chatting in instant messengers, light gaming, watching videos.

    The model boasts a smooth interface, well-optimized software, no freezes and lags. And it's also compact. This is the best smartphone for users who are not ready to put up with the fashion for elongated 6-inch shovels. NFC is in place, the matrix is chic, the case is durable - made of aluminum, there is a fingerprint scanner. A serious drawback that cannot be leveled is the short battery life. In the best scenario, the battery generates daylight hours. We recommend buying a power bank with an iPhone right away.

    2 Sony Xperia L3

    Physical Reliability and NFC
    Country: Japan
    Average price: 14990 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.8

    Budget smartphone made in Japan. The novelty runs on stable Android 8.0. Inside is a no less stable processor from Mediatek Helio P22. This is an octa-core system, which, in conjunction with 3 GB of RAM, shows praiseworthy performance results.

    The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, so you don't have to worry about the reliability of the display cover. Autonomy will please those users who are used to blaming Sony for their small batteries in reviews. A 3300 mAh battery is also installed here, which should last for two days with moderate use of the gadget. This one of the highest quality phones has other advantages, for example, a USB Type-C port, fast charging and NFC.

    1 HUAWEI P Smart (2019) 3/32GB

    Rugged one-piece body
    Country: China
    Average price: 13600 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.9

    A reliable novelty from Huawei, a company that pays great attention to the quality of its smartphones. The model runs on Android 9 and a proprietary shell from the manufacturer. The shell from Huawei works perfectly - it is reliable, does not slow down, does not freeze. In the reviews, users describe rare bugs in the latest version of Android, and this is normal, since the version is new. Updates arrive regularly - the software is on its way to perfection.

    The smartphone is ideal for those who do not like unibrow and thick bezels above the screen. Here, the front camera is hidden in a miniature drop. There is NFC and a dual camera of 13 + 2 MP. RAM 3 GB, flash - 32. Huawei put inside the processor of their own design Kirin 710, which is designed to perform average user tasks. This is one of the best inexpensive and high quality smartphones.

    The highest quality phones: budget up to 50,000 rubles

    3 Apple iPhone 8 64GB

    The best software optimization. durable glass
    Country: USA
    Average price: 40590 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.7

    One of the most popular smartphones from Apple, which can not be called inexpensive. At one time, the G8 took first place in performance tests, and in 2019 it is just a great powerful gadget with fast response and trouble-free operation.

    In the reviews, individual users admit that after several falls, including the screen down, the iPhone still works just fine, and not a single crack appeared on the case and display. iOS - the operating system of "apple" phones - is famous for its security and reliability. Also, the manufacturer always supports its information product, regularly releases updates with performance improvements. The smartphone is protected from viruses that often infect Android devices. Optimization of work at height - despite the fact that the installed processor is not the most powerful, it demonstrates top performance and pulls even heavy games and programs. iPhone 8 is one of the most reliable and secure phones around.

    2 OnePlus 6T 8/128GB

    The best in speed and stability
    Country: China
    Average price: 33999 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.7

    This is the creation of a company that releases flagships close to the ideal twice a year. 6T is no exception - it has not only powerful and balanced hardware, but also a well-thought-out shell. In the reviews, experienced users pay attention to the reliable case and durable screen glass.

    The uninterrupted operation of the software deserves attention - bugs and “brakes” happen so rarely that OnePlus products are compared with famous iPhones in terms of stability and performance. All this thanks to a powerful processor, a harmoniously matched working bundle, frequent updates to the Oxygen OS shell software and prompt resolution of all emerging problems. A nice bonus for geeks is that the shell, after performing certain actions, gives you access to the widest settings. This is one of the highest quality and most reliable phones.

    1 Samsung Galaxy S10e 6/128GB

    Dust and moisture protection according to IP68 standard
    Country: South Korea
    Average price: 50900 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 5.0

    A relatively inexpensive modification of the 2019 flagship from Samsung. The model has an almost borderless screen - the bezels are barely visible, a dual camera, a metal and glass body and protection against dust and water in accordance with the IP68 standard. This means that you can take your smartphone in the shower and swim with it in the pool - it will endure everything.

    Despite the fact that the novelty has only recently appeared on sale, users have already written their first impressions of use in the reviews. Someone complains about slight software glitches, but this is the fault of the new Android 9. Otherwise, sheer delight and emphasis on its quality and reliability. Information for left-handers - the fingerprint scanner is located on the right side and is designed for the user to hold the device in his right hand.

    Top quality premium smartphones

    Which phone will stay relevant the most time? Of course, top devices. Their filling allows you not to think about slowdowns for at least 2 years, and a comfortable speed will be provided even longer. In this category, we tried to select the highest quality premium smartphones for you, so that the reason for changing it was the user's own desire, and not technical problems.

    3 Samsung Galaxy S8

    The most proven premium smartphone
    Country: South Korea
    Average price: 34900 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.8

    The third place in the ranking of the highest quality premium smartphones is occupied by the Galaxy S8. The model was introduced at the beginning of 2017. During the time it was on the counter, all possible shortcomings were identified, the firmware was updated several times, and now we have a very high-quality phone with a minimum percentage of defects and high reliability. And yes, you can rest easy - Samsung batteries don't explode anymore!

    In terms of filling, we have a typical flagship of 2017. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is installed inside, paired with 4 GB of RAM - the figures are not record-breaking, but for the vast majority of users this bundle will last for several years of trouble-free operation. In addition to the filling, attention is drawn to the chic frameless 5.8-inch display. The diagonal is large, but due to the minimal horizontal and completely absent vertical frames (the display goes to the side edges), the dimensions of the device remain relatively compact. It is also worth praising the Galaxy S8 for one of the best cameras on the market, the presence of dust and moisture protection and fast wireless charging. The only complaint about the phone is that the fingerprint scanner is not very well located, which is why many users turn it off.

    2 Apple iPhone Xs Max 256GB

    Most Thoughtful Software
    Country: USA
    Average price: 87490 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.8

    Smartphone on the latest iOS 12, filled with innovative technologies and software buns for convenience. The model pleases with a huge 6.5-inch display and its high resolution - 2688x1242. In the reviews, it is difficult for users to find objective shortcomings of the model - this is one of the highest quality, reliable and powerful smartphones in 2019.

    The main caveat is that not all developers have adapted their applications to the increased screen resolution. This is a matter of time, and this fact does not affect the functionality, but only the aesthetics - the program interface has become a little larger. The battery lasts a full day - for iPhones, this is really a lot. The operating system is as convenient as possible: swipes speed up the process and increase ease of operation with one hand, presentation modes in the photo album allow you to create photo masterpieces and well-designed collections in a couple of clicks. Easy NFC payment, wireless charging support and amazing speed are all included in the price of the Xs Max.

    1 Apple iPhone 8 Plus 256GB

    Largest built-in storage capacity (256GB)
    The country: USA (made in China)
    Average price: 59689 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.7

    The rating opens with the iPhone 8 presented in the fall of 2017. The smartphone has received a large number of innovations, among which the most noticeable was the change in the case material - from now on it is glass. But do not think that the smartphone has become more fragile. On the contrary, judging by the many "crash tests", resistance to drops and scratches has increased significantly. When falling from a height of human height, the smartphone can get off with only a couple of scratches on the metal frame. This solution also made it possible to install a wireless charging module.

    The filling has also changed. Inside, the once brand new Apple A11 Bionic is installed, the performance of which is not even worth talking about - enough for years to come. The latest communication modules are Bluetooth 5.0, which supports connection with several devices at once, LTE-A and other delights of the modern world. Dust and moisture protection, which first appeared in the iPhone 7, has remained in place - you can not worry even while swimming with a smartphone. Otherwise, we have before us the already familiar "seven", all the problems of which have long been studied and corrected.

    The most reliable smartphones, time-tested

    3 ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M2) ZB631KL 4/64GB

    Best price
    Country: Taiwan
    Average price: 16910 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.6

    Beautiful, fast and harmonious smartphone. Inexpensive and very interesting. The model did not gain much popularity, and this is strange: the software is optimized, there are no bugs, the filling is chic, photo skills are not bad, the screen is excellent, autonomy is at a sufficient level (5000 mAh battery). NFC and other wireless interfaces in place. The manufacturer does not forget about his offspring - he regularly updates the software.

    The case is durable, but not able to resist scratches - without a case, you will quickly "update" the delicate coating of the back panel. The peculiarity of the model is that it is on pure Android. This means that you will not find alien programs in the menu, and atypical sliders and checkboxes in the settings. For lovers of minimalism and those who are looking for something of high quality and reliability for reasonable money, this is the best option. You will only have to put up with the micro-USB port and the case's tendency to scratches.

    2 Samsung Galaxy S9 64GB

    The best ratio of price and quality
    Country: South Korea
    Average price: 44300 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.7

    An excellent flagship of 2018, which, after more than a year of operation, did not reveal its hidden flaws. One of the most optimized, it shows top results in synthetic tests and is not prone to slowdowns and bugs. Reviews are full of praise for the chic screen, speed, photo capabilities, sound, water protection.

    There are a small number of owners who complain about the loss of communication. A pattern was revealed - all users used both SIM-cards with a checkmark in front of the line “Two SIMs in active mode”. The problem manifested itself on a few models, so even taking into account this significant drawback, the phone deserves the title of one of the highest quality. Another point - do not expect amazing autonomy from the S9. The battery is the weak point of the model. With moderately active use, the battery will last a day, and if you do not let go of the gadget, make sure that there is a charged power bank or socket nearby.

    1 OnePlus 5T 128GB

    Proven reliability
    Country: China
    Average price: 29900 rubles.
    Rating (2019): 4.8

    A smartphone that is very loved by users from all over the world. The reason for the general adoration lies not only in the inexpensive price with powerful characteristics, but also in the detailed study of the software, and work without glitches and slowdowns. The model runs on Android 7.1, which is improved with a proprietary shell from 1+. The phone looks great even by the standards of 2019 – thin bezels, lack of monobrows, a large diagonal of 6 inches, a dual main camera and stylish colors. A 3.5 mm minijack is present.

    In the reviews, the owners of 5T reveal their cards: for a long time of operation, they did not reveal any problems with the software. The device does not lag, does not slow down. The only thing they complain about is the slippery case and the lack of moisture protection. But here there is a beautiful AMOLED display, good autonomy and a rich delivery package - the box contains a case, a power adapter with support for fast charging, and a factory film on the screen. This is the best of the highest quality phones that have stood the test of time and are still relevant.
