A unique role-playing game with a huge world and many interesting and unpredictable quests has already managed to win the hearts of many gamers around the world. During the gameplay, the player will be able not only to complete many interesting tasks, but also to develop many useful skills in the character. In Skyrim, there is an opportunity even at the initial level to learn professions that he will certainly need to further progress through the game, as well as to prepare for the battle with especially strong opponents.
One of the most needed professions is alchemy - the ancient craft of making various potions and poisons.
Components for creating "magic solutions" can be found throughout the game world. In order to brew a magical potion or poison, the character needs to get into the alchemy laboratory and simply mix the ingredients together. After you have brewed the necessary elixir, you need to drink it.
Almost all potions in the game have useful properties, both the weakest and the most potent. The effects that can be obtained when using potions will significantly improve the characteristics of your character. The game features many recipes for elixirs and poisons that help replenish your character's strength, magical abilities and, of course, the health of your character.
Skyrim enchantment potion where to find
Players can use alchemy in the game only in specially designed laboratories. To create magical potions, the character will need to combine several components that have the same magical effect. Any of the components of the potions has several useful effects (usually no more than four). You will be able to conduct experiments with different types of elixirs, if all the rules were observed in the process of their creation.
The character will be able to prepare different types of potions according to special recipes that he will find during the game. These drugs are brewed from plants and herbs that can be found while traveling through the vast game universe. Sometimes, for a potion, you can even catch insects that eat the nectar of flowers. To make it easier for the player to distribute the necessary components, the game has hints that will help to understand whether these ingredients are combined or not.
The higher the price of the potion made by the player, the more experience points he will receive after making it. The most popular potions are used to increase the skill level in a particular profession. In Skyrim, an enchantment potion is used to upgrade a hero's armor items.
When using this magical elixir, all items of the character's equipment that he was able to enchant will have more powerful armor. But unfortunately, this magical effect does not last long (no more than one minute). The more the level of alchemy is pumped, the stronger the characteristics of the brewed potion will be.
To brew this potion, the player will need to find or purchase the following ingredients from vendors:
- Claw of the witch.
- Blue butterfly wings.
- Snow berries.
- Spriggan gum.
In Skyrim, without alchemy, it would be sad and empty. Well, what magical world can exist without wizards and what wizards can be without various potions and herbs? The creators of Skyrim tried to make this item in the game extensive. Alchemy recipes in the game are available for both beginners and more advanced players, and you can find the table below, but for now we'll talk about alchemy in TES5 and discuss why you won't find a complete list of all crafts.
How many recipes for alchemical potions are there in Skyrim?
To date, developers have published 119 alchemy crafting recipes available in the Skyrim universe. But they themselves speak of this discipline as something that cannot be fully comprehended. called alchemy - the science of experimentation. For example, when you are engaged in blacksmithing or when you enchant items - you know the result in advance, what it will be. About alchemy, the creators of the game say this:
Often you don't know what you're doing, and as a result of experimenting with the ingredients, you discover a powerful new potion or effect as a result of the random combination of various components.
Preparation of alchemical potions
1. Becoming at the alchemy table, you get the opportunity to take two different ingredients or three. At the same time, during the selection of the first two, you cannot mix the same ones. If the effect that the potion will cause is not known in advance, then it will be marked as "Potion with unknown effect".
2. If the effects (there may be several) of the components do not match, then you will receive a small increase in alchemy skills, but you will lose the ingredients. The laboratory itself will also help you here - the fact that the components did not bring the effect will be remembered and their mixing in the future will be highlighted in gray, hinting at the futility.
3. If the effect or effects of the components are the same, then you will get a potion. It will greatly enhance all the effects that were present in the components. If the effect of the result is positive, then it will be classified as a potion, if harmful, then as a poison.
Example: Making a potion Health Boost to Skyrim.
Blue Ermine(Among the effects: Health Recovery, Skill Up: Conjuring, Health Up, Magicka Regeneration Damage), and Glowing Mushroom(Stamina Damage, Health Boost, Carry Weight Increase, Stamina Regeneration Damage), you can combine them to create Health Boost Potion.
The higher your alchemy skills, the more powerful and long-lasting actions you can create. For example, if the potion in the standard set gives the possibility of restoring health in 50 points, then with high alchemy skills, the amount of health restored in points will be higher. The same goes for the duration of the potion.
Your character's alchemy skills increase when:
- research a new ingredient effect,
- produce a potion,
- you make a potion, but it doesn't work for you (the skill increases quite a bit).

Alchemy
Alchemy(orig. - "Alchemy") - a skill from the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, belonging to the category of thieves.
Alchemy is the art of making potions and poisons. Unlike previous games, alchemy can be practiced at alchemy tables and labs, in various locations that you encounter throughout the game.
The following races have a bonus to the Alchemy skill:
+5 bonus: Bosmer, Breton, Dunmer, Khajiit
Alchemy shops in Skyrim, located in all cities, offer a rich supply of potions, poisons, ingredients, and tincture recipes. Note that some bottles can only be bought or found on your travels, you cannot make them yourself. These include, for example, potions that completely restore health, magic and stamina, and an antidote. Ready-made tinctures are divided into useful (which you can consume yourself) and poisons (which you can lubricate weapons). All tinctures have several gradations in terms of strength and duration of action (from instantaneous to long duration of action).
To create potions, you need an alchemy laboratory. You will find it in alchemists' shops, jarl's court magicians' offices, the College of Winterhold, you can install it in your own house when you buy it, and various other places. To create a potion, two ingredients with the same properties are required.
You can diversify the recipe by adding a third ingredient.
After creating a potion, you get either a useful tincture, or poison, or a potion with positive and negative effects. Choosing the appropriate perks will help both the poisoner and the healer.
Ingredients
Alchemy ingredients can be found everywhere in Skyrim. Each ingredient has 4 properties. After eating an ingredient, you can recognize only one of its properties, having some effect on the character himself. By increasing the skill and choosing the necessary abilities from the constellation of alchemy, you will be able to recognize all the properties of the ingredient. But you can do it differently: experiment. If the experiment is successful, and you have created a tincture, you will understand that the ingredients used have the desired property and will see this property in the list of known effects.

Effects of Alchemical Ingredients
List of all alchemy ingredients sorted by their effects. It will help you create the right potions without having to know all the recipes in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim itself. However, it is still recommended to find out all the effects of the ingredients yourself - this is much more interesting. This list of effects can also be called a list of recipes for potions and poisons. In order to make a potion corresponding to the effect, it is enough to mix any two ingredients from the list. Adding a third can give additional effects to the resulting potion, up to six, so the field for experimentation is quite extensive.
