Ventilation grilles for doors. Bathroom door with integrated ventilation Ventilation rings in the bathroom door

Fresh indoor air is a guarantee not only of people's health, but also of the safety of many finishing materials. In most rooms, the problem of oxygen inflow is solved simply - by ventilation. The bathroom has no windows, so it requires high-quality ventilation - both forced and natural.

To create the first, fans are used, and with the second, doors with ventilation can help. To improve an already installed solid door, wooden and metal door ventilation grilles, which can be easily installed with your own hands, will help. There are several options for door ventilation - which one is better to choose?

Materials for making doors

Before installing the first door in the bathroom, you need to understand whether it is suitable for organizing ventilation - whether it lets air through on its own, and, if not, whether a grill or ventilation rings can be mounted. Find out also about the optimal door sizes for your bathroom.

There are the following options for materials for the manufacture of bathroom doors:

  • Glass... Frosted glass doors are great for wet rooms - they are resistant to moisture and high temperatures, and they look good. They can also easily withstand the large number of heating and cooling cycles, which is very typical for a bathtub that is constantly filled with hot steam. If ventilation holes are not made in such a door in advance, it will not let air through.
  • Plastic... The cheapest option, inferior to analogs in aesthetic characteristics. It withstands all aggressive influences as well as glass. If you have certain skills, you can equip such a door with a ventilation grill.
  • Solid wood... Poorly withstands moisture and temperature changes, but is best suited for organizing door ventilation.
  • Woodworking products- laminate, chipboard, MDF - after treatment with special impregnations they withstand moisture well, and it is easiest to install ventilation in them. Like the plastic models, this option is quite cheap.

Thus, despite the worst resistance to moisture, wood options are better for organizing a constant air flow - then you can even cut the ventilation grilles for the bathroom door with your own hands.

Ventilation organization methods

According to the norms for the bathroom, natural ventilation is provided - for this there must be a gap in the floor. In practice, however, this gap is usually closed with sills or a sealant to avoid leaks during a flood. Therefore, bathroom doors with built-in ventilation have spread. There are two options for organizing it. You can also use a silent fan with a non-return valve - see the link for more details on the benefits.

Ventilation grates

This option is a window cut out at the bottom of the door, closed with a plastic, wooden or metal grill.

Ventilation rings and grilles in doors

From below, it is done because cool fresh air sinks to the floor due to convection.

Such grilles have a number of advantages:

  • variety of designs;
  • opacity;
  • curtains create an obstacle to the continuous flow of air - there will be no draft in the room... but oxygen will still continuously flow into the bathroom.

The grilles can have a variety of sizes, be installed in different quantities: one, over the entire width of the door, or several in a row - it all depends on the designer's imagination.

Ventilation grill in the door

When installing with your own hands, it is important to take into account such a moment: the overhead ventilation grill must necessarily stand level, at right angles to the floor.

Ventilation rings

The location of such ventilation holes is similar to the grilles - they are located at the bottom of the door, at a short distance from the floor. In fact, these are simple holes in the door.... inside which plastic or metal rings are inserted that perform two functions:

  • improve aesthetics;
  • protect the cut from moisture and temperature.

The design of such fixtures is simple and less varied than that of gratings, but there are options here too.

Air vents in the door

So, you can find not simple rings, but closed with a protective or noise-absorbing mesh, which not only prevents you from looking inside the room, but also creates a barrier for insects.

How to choose ventilation for your bathroom door

The easiest way is to select a door that is equipped with vents at the factory. There is also a problem with this option: it can be difficult to find a model that fits the existing interior. But you can not think about the material and choose any door you like.

The second way is to make holes with your own hands. In this case, you will have to look in the direction of wooden models, since it is difficult to cut glass at home, moreover, you need a special tool for this.

Round vents in the door

Cutting plastic is simply dangerous - it is very easy to ruin such a door without the skills and experience of such work.

There is also a third option. If you can't find a ready-made door with ventilation for the bathroom, and you don't have the time and desire to tinker with work with your own hands, you can use the simplest way to organize the flow of fresh air. Namely - to grind the door from below, making a gap between it and the floor. With due care, this will not spoil its aesthetics in any way, ventilation will be no worse than with special holes in the array .

DIY ventilation

Having decided on the option for organizing ventilation, you can start working - making holes in wood or plastic will not take much time and effort, and only the most basic tool will be required for this.

You will need the following equipment and materials:

  • Ruler and pencil;
  • level;
  • drill, jigsaw or glass cutter;
  • grille or ventilation rings for the door;
  • mounting glue or self-tapping screws, depending on the ventilation model.

Installation is carried out in the following order:

  1. Lattice or rings are measured if dimensions are not specified in their documentation.
  2. Marking is applied to the door leaf. Of course, you can simply attach a grate or ring and trace with a pencil, but accuracy in this case may suffer. Please note that a couple of millimeters should be added to the size of the ventilation on each side.
  3. Using the appropriate tool, holes are drilled or sawed in the blade.
  4. Sections are carefully sanded with sandpaper and then varnished. This will further protect the material and improve the appearance of the door.
  5. The rings are lubricated with glue and inserted into the holes; the grilles are screwed on with self-tapping screws on both sides. It is worth checking the evenness of the installation using a water level.

When working, it is imperative to observe safety measures - use gloves and goggles.

If you are not sure if you can do it right, it is better to entrust the work to a professional.

Thus, ventilation in the bathroom door is not a whim, but a necessity. Without it, the comfort from using the bathroom will be incomplete and even more - it will be simply dangerous. It makes no sense to avoid organizing a constant flow of fresh air into this room - it is very simple to choose the right option, and installing the grill or rings with your own hands takes no more than half an hour, even for a person without experience.

Ventilation grilles for doors to the bathroom, room, room

The lack of fresh air in the house can cause the tenants to feel unwell, since carbon dioxide accumulates in a room that is not ventilated for a long time, and a sufficient amount of oxygen is required for a person's normal well-being. In addition, household chemicals and finishing materials release toxins into the air, which, accumulating, can also be harmful to health.

If we talk about ventilation in the bathroom, then the situation is even more serious. In the absence of air movement in a humid environment, molds are formed, the surfaces of walls, doors, furniture accumulate moisture and become unusable.

The problem of ventilation in bathrooms has become especially relevant over the past few years in connection with the appearance on the market of new noise, hydro and thermal insulation materials. Finishing with such materials makes the bathroom more comfortable and beautiful, but many of them do not let fresh air into the room. When installing a fan in a bathroom, effective ventilation of the room will occur only when the door is open, since a draft is needed for the fan to work well. According to the rules, there should be a small gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, but most people find this approach inconvenient and unaesthetic and install doors that close very tightly, leaving no gaps.

All these problems can be solved by a ventilation grill installed on the door. Today on sale you can find doors with an already built-in grille or with special ventilation holes-rings. But if the door has already been installed and there is a problem with air circulation, then you just need to purchase and install the grill.

Types of ventilation grilles

Today, on the market for construction products, you can find many different variations of ventilation grilles. All these designs have differences in shape, purpose, design and color materials, sizes, prices.

The primary classification feature that determines the types of grilles is the method and place of their installation. On this basis, they are divided into:

For installation on the door, supply grilles are used. They are made from the following materials:

Ventilation grilles made of plastic have high corrosion resistance and reasonable price. But when direct sunlight hits them, the plastic loses its attractive appearance, and over time it can begin to deteriorate. Therefore, plastic grilles are best used for interior doors inside the house.

Aluminum gratings are quite durable, lightweight, not afraid of sunlight, but they are somewhat more expensive than plastic ones.

Wooden grilles are designed for indoor installation. Their advantages: environmental safety, external presentability, which allows them to harmoniously fit into the interior of the room. However, it should be borne in mind that natural wood requires special regular maintenance, in the absence of which the product may lose its appearance and deteriorate. The cost of wooden ventilation grilles is high in comparison with other analogues.

Steel gratings are heavy and expensive, but at the same time are considered the most durable and durable. Such structures are most often installed on front doors, since they are too heavy for interior doors.

When installing a grill on the front door, you must choose a model with a protective mosquito net so that mosquitoes and flies do not enter the house.

Ventilation grilles let in very little light and practically exclude the possibility of viewing, it is impossible to see the person behind the door through such a structure. In shape, these products can be round, square or rectangular, but the latter option is the most common.

Design features

The main part of the structure is equipped with V-shaped lamellas, fixed on a frame made of plastic or metal, and the counterpart is already without lamellae. Despite the fact that this design is quite simple, such products effectively perform their function, maintaining an optimal microclimate in the rooms. Installation of the grille will prevent the appearance of mold, mildew and high humidity.

Rectangular door grilles

Bathroom door grill

Rectangular grilles are installed on kitchen doors, bathrooms and toilets. This allows the air flow to circulate properly inside the rooms. In addition, such products are also used for installation in window sills, so that warm air masses emanating from heating radiators are evenly distributed throughout the room.

These structures are made of high quality and durable plastic. Some models are equipped with insect screens or a movable airflow damper. Also, if desired, you can install a grill with a built-in fan - in this case, the ventilation effect will be the best. Today, there are various color and design options on sale, so for each door you can choose a grille that matches the color and style.

Round grates

Round grilles for doors

The design of round grilles is practically no different from rectangular ones. Such products are also equipped with a mosquito net, can have movable dampers or a built-in fan. The size of round structures, as a rule, does not exceed 15-20 cm in diameter, and for their installation, round holes are made in the door in size. Products up to 10 cm in diameter are installed at the bottom of the door several pieces in a row. Larger grilles can be placed on the sides of the bottom or top of the door. In the presence of moisture and mold inside furniture cabinets, such grilles are installed on the cabinet doors. In this case, glue and mounting ribs are used for installation.

If there is no proper air circulation in the office production room, as well as in a private bathroom, kitchen or bathroom, ventilation grilles must be installed on the door. You can do this yourself or ask for help from specialists who will perform the following steps:

  1. The building code will determine the optimal size of the grille required for your door. The size depends on the internal dimensions of the room and its purpose.
  2. They will make a hole in the door of the required size and install the grill.

For self-installation, you will need the following tools:

  • Ruler and pencil;
  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver or glue.

Work order:

  1. First, using a ruler, you need to take the dimensions of the purchased grilles (as a rule, there are always two of them in the kit).
  2. Next, on the door, you need to mark the places where the grilles will be located. In this case, the holes should be approximately 1-2 mm larger than the length and width.
  3. Then four round holes are made at the corners of the marking with a large drill.
  4. Insert the jigsaw blade into one of the holes and carefully cut out a rectangle of the appropriate size along the marking. You need to cut carefully so that the material does not break off. Most room doors are filled with paper honeycomb inside. It should be borne in mind that the jigsaw is suitable for doors made of wood or wood processing materials. For other materials, appropriate tools are used.
  5. Now attach the grates to the two sides of the hole made. If they enter too tight, then enlarge the hole by sharpening with a file or a rasp.
  6. If the instructions for use of the product indicate that the grille is attached with glue, then they will be attached using construction glue. Before glue is applied to the surface of the door, it must be treated with a cleaning agent to remove dirt and grease. Otherwise, the grill may come off after a while. Most models for doors are fixed with self-tapping screws.

Ventilation grilles not only restore the correct air circulation in the premises, but also perform a decorative function. These structures are quite attractive, giving the home a modern touch.

Ventilation grilles for doors to the bathroom, room, room

There are many different ventilation grilles on the market. All these designs have differences in shape, purpose, materials, size, price.

In this article, we will offer eleven ideas for arranging a comfortable, functional bathroom, we will tell you how to rationally use the space in this traditionally small room and deal with dampness.

Renovation in the bathroom is done for more than one year, it is expensive, so every mistake can cost homeowners a substantial amount and lead to the need for rework or other problems. We hope that the ideas we have proposed will help you avoid mistakes and turn your bathroom into a functional and attractive space.

In such a large combined bathroom, there was no need to allocate additional storage space, but the designer effectively used a niche above the bathroom, creating a shelf for towels and small things with original lighting

1. Shelves and built-in wardrobes above the sanitary ware

In a small bathroom, where every centimeter counts, it is a crime not to use the space that remains above the washing machine, toilet bowl and even the door anyway. In a room where the entire "lower tier" is occupied by various plumbing fixtures, one has to use the "upper floor", that is, the space above the installed objects. Only then will it be possible to organize enough storage space in the bathroom.

It will be convenient to store household chemicals on the shelves above the washing machine, towels, air freshener, etc. above the toilet, and toothbrushes and toothpaste in a small mirrored cabinet above the sink.

Shelves and cabinets can be built into any niche in the room. By the way, niches in the bathroom are not uncommon, since the owners have to beat the common house risers located here.

2. Inertial clothesline

It is necessary to dry clothes somewhere in the apartment and it is most convenient to do this where the washing machine is located. However, the constantly stretched clothesline will definitely not add attractiveness to the interior, and most likely there will not be enough space for a folding metal dryer. Inertial clotheslines can come to the rescue, which appear only as needed and allow you to adjust the degree of tension.

Inertial dryers look very modern and will definitely not spoil the bathroom interior. Such dryers allow you to adjust the degree of rope tension, and cost about 700 rubles

A multilevel system for drying clothes made of metal tubes will be a good alternative, of course, if you are not embarrassed by its constant presence.

3. Large mirror or framed mirror to expand the space

Designers advise installing mirrors in a wide frame or large enough mirror surfaces in small bathrooms to expand the space. A great option is to use a mirror to occupy the entire part of the wall above the sink.

A huge mirror that takes up all the space above the sink will make a small bathroom visually spacious

Of course, mirrors literally all over the bathroom are not an option for everyone. But on the other hand, such a room will seem large and very bright.

4. Exhaust fan

Fighting dampness in the bathroom is a very important and responsible task. Without an effective ventilation system, it will be almost impossible to cope with it - you will have to constantly keep the door open. The best solution would be to install a fan. It can turn on simultaneously with the lighting, but experts advise you to install a separate switch - if you just decide to take a shower, you don't need additional ventilation.

Small modern fans will not spoil the interior, but, depending on the model, cost from 300 to 6 thousand rubles

5. Vents or valves in the door

If one fan was not enough to combat dampness in the bathroom, or you simply did not install it for some reason, you can use another option. Installing a door with special vents or valves will allow for constant ventilation. True, in this case, unpleasant odors from the combined bathroom will spread throughout the apartment.

Usually the vents are located at the bottom of the door so as not to be too conspicuous

Instead of holes in the door, such a plastic ventilation grill can be located, the color of which is matched to the tone of the canvas

6. Diverse lighting

Bathroom features, of course, exclude the use of massive chandeliers or pendant lights. But the choice that exists today allows you to create a very convenient and effective lighting system, and in every corner of the bath: spotlights built into the plastic-faced ceiling, LED strip between the tiles or around the mirror, and even a glowing shower.

Shower with LED lights, costs about $ 50. There is a possibility to change colors

A real waterfall around the bathtub, created with the appropriate lighting

7. Electric heated towel rail

One of the main sources of dampness in the bathroom is damp towels. In the case of ineffective ventilation, they can hang in this state for days. One of the options for solving this problem is electric heated towel rails, which will not take up much space and will perfectly fit into any interior.

Modern towel dryers can look very original, which allows them to be used in any interior style.

The sizes of a heated towel rail can also vary greatly, so you are sure to find an option even for a tiny bathroom. The average price varies from 1 to 9 thousand rubles

8. Warm floor

Another, and very effective option for dealing with dampness in the bathroom. Underfloor heating is, of course, more expensive than a fan or a door with holes. But believe me, it's worth it. You can get rid of always wet rugs, walk barefoot in the bathroom and forget what dampness is.

Under-tile underfloor heating system allows barefoot walking around the bathroom

Modern floor heating systems with automatic temperature control are very economical

9. Two in one - bath and shower

Installing both a bathtub and a shower cabin in the bathroom is a pleasure that is not available to everyone. And the size of our bathrooms does not allow, and the price of modern shower cabins "bites". However, it is quite possible to replace a full-fledged shower stall with a mixer with an appropriate nozzle, while protecting the rest of the room with curtains.

The usual shower curtains made of water-repellent fabric are gradually being replaced by sliding or retractable structures made of transparent or matte plastic. They look more modern, reliably protect the floor from splashes, but they are, of course, more expensive.

Such a cute curtain has become not just a barrier to splashes, but also an element of decor.

The cost of transparent or matte plastic curtains for the bathroom depends on the manufacturer, fittings and the number of sections, ranging from 6 to 10 thousand rubles

10. Invisible cabinets

Storage places, and even more so access to water metering devices and communications, is far from always appropriate to show off. In this case, it is more advisable to install hidden systems with facades in the color of the tiles or simply tiled with it. And we have already written about the mirror cabinets, which are also almost invisible in the interior.

There is a lot of space under the bathroom, moreover, it is necessary to leave access to the drain. These comfortable tiled hatches will be the perfect way out.

It is convenient to hide access to communications behind secret hatches

11. Plants as bathroom decor

So far, we have talked mainly about ideas regarding the functional features of the bathroom, aimed at ensuring the convenience and comfort of the owners. Now let's pay attention to beauty. How do you like the idea of decorating your bathroom with live plants? Believe me, the interior of this usually rather restrained room, shining only with chrome taps and faience of sanitary ware, will change dramatically thanks to the green decor.

Of course, if the bathroom has a window, turning it into a winter garden is much easier. But even in an ordinary small room, shade and moisture-loving plants will feel great

A moisture-loving orchid in the bathroom is the place! However, you will have to take care of the fluorescent lamp, which will need to be left on for at least 8-10 hours a day so that the flower does not wither

And finally, bad ideas, which are likely to cause disappointment in the near future:

  1. A glossy bathroom floor that will always have drip marks and slip easily.
  2. Shelf or cabinet made of chipboard or MDF. Such materials in the humid atmosphere of the bathroom tend to swell and lose their appearance, so it is better to choose glass or mirror options.
  3. Also, avoid using white grout between floor tiles, even if the flooring is very light. Over time, it will turn yellow and look untidy.
  4. Despite the desire to hide everything that is unnecessary, it is a very bad idea to close the water heating tank with a drywall box without access. If it breaks (and sooner or later it breaks, believe me), you will have to disassemble the wall, most likely tiled. The same applies to the riser and drains - it is necessary to leave the possibility of access, for example, to cover it with a special viewing window.

A shiny bathroom floor is beautiful, of course, but only when thoroughly wiped down. Such flooring will constantly contain splashes and stains, and it is very easy to slip.

All the ideas we have collected have been tested by time and the experience of many homeowners. Adopt the advice of more experienced owners to avoid mistakes and frustrations, and not to do remodeling soon after the completion of the bathroom renovation.

Anna Sedykh, rmnt.ru

High humidity, and even steam, are becoming a problem not only for surfaces and bathroom furnishings. Not every person feels comfortable in such conditions, and for some it is even so unbearable that they have to swim with the door ajar. And then it needs to be kept open for several hours in order to allow the room to ventilate - after all, in apartment bathrooms, unlike many private houses, there are definitely no windows.

The best way out in this situation can be considered as ventilation grilles for doors. What they are, and how to make installation with your own hands - we will talk about this in this article.

The problem described above is often aggravated by the fact that the bathroom door is installed without a gap between the canvas and the threshold, which in this case should be. Although, we agree that this is not very aesthetically pleasing.

But today this issue is solved very simply - you need to either install a door with an already built-in ventilation grill, or cut it in yourself. And believe me: doors with a ventilation grill do not spoil the interior at all - on the contrary, they decorate.

Grill options for doors

So, in order to solve the issue of good air circulation, you need a ventilation grill for the door.

Consider what options are there:

  1. Recessed rectangular grille;

  1. A whole series of small round holes;

  1. Forged metal grilles on the doors. But this, of course, is not an option for the bathroom. In private houses, they are placed on the front door, as shown in the photo, and in high-rise buildings they can often be seen in the vestibule in front of apartment doors.

Only built-in options are installed inside the apartment, which became the topic of our publication:

  • There are very, very many models of ventilation grilles on the market - different versions, configurations and prices allow you to choose what you need for anyone.
  • They are made from aluminum, steel, plastic, wood and its derivatives.
  • The cheapest, of course, are plastic - they are usually placed on the doors to bathrooms, since this material is not afraid of water and steam.
  • Metallic ones are ideal for, but for this they must be equipped with a built-in mosquito net. Moreover, the mesh is usually also made of metal so that rodents cannot damage it.
  • Alternatively, a fine plastic mesh with a metal mesh is combined with larger cells.
  • It is better to put wooden lattices in the interior doors, which will only give them a certain charm.

Note: If this is not forging - the grilles on the door, the dimensions of which correspond to the dimensions of the opening, and small ventilation holes or windows at the bottom of the canvas, then they do not make it possible to see the person in the room.

They also practically do not transmit light, so the installation of ventilation grilles does not bring any inconvenience. They can be round or square in shape, but the most common options are rectangular products. The color can be very different, which we see in the picture below.

What are their design features, we will tell further with the help of the video in this article.

How to install the product

The installation instructions for a rectangular grille are pretty straightforward.

The product consists of two parts:

  1. The main one, along the perimeter of the ends of which there are Y-shaped lamellas, due to which it is held in the window;
  2. Mating, with smooth ends, which snaps into the main frame.

Round grilles have the same structure as rectangular ones, but they can be very small in size, and therefore they are built in a row of several pieces. If their diameter exceeds 10 cm, then the products can be mounted not in the middle, but on the sides of the canvas - and not necessarily from below, but also from above.

Note: By the way, the same grilles can be built into the doors of linen closets to ensure that their contents can be ventilated.

Inserting a frame into the canvas

Apart from a pencil and a ruler, the process of cutting out a window under the lattice in the canvas requires only one tool - a jigsaw.

  • It's good when there is an electric option, but, as a last resort, you can get by with the usual one. Anyone who has such a tool knows very well how to use it.
  • You may also need a drill with a drill or crown that you can use to make small round holes.

  • Before starting work, it is necessary to measure the dimensions of the main frame as accurately as possible, and transfer them to the canvas with an allowance of a couple of millimeters.
  • If it is a rectangle, then holes are made at its corners with a drill, into which a jigsaw blade is inserted to start sawing.
  • When the hole is ready, the main part of the grille must be tried on, and if it fits tightly, then adjust it with a file. Insert the frame into the finished window, after which you can install the counterpart of the grill.

Conclusion

Perhaps the fastening of the elements is carried out with glue - this is already regulated by the manufacturer. Then, before placing the grill on the door, both of its parts must be degreased. Then glue should be applied, and, after waiting for the allotted time, put the counterpart in its place.

Many models provide mechanical fastening rather than adhesive. In this case, to fix the grill, all that remains is to screw in four self-tapping screws in the corners.

  • supply air;
  • internal;
  • outdoor.

For installation on the door, supply grilles are used. They are made from the following materials:

  • aluminum;
  • plastic;
  • wood;
  • steel and others.

Mounting

If there is no proper air circulation in the office production room, as well as in a private bathroom, kitchen or bathroom, ventilation grilles must be installed on the door. You can do this yourself or ask for help from specialists who will perform the following steps:

  1. The building code will determine the optimal size of the grille required for your door. The size depends on the internal dimensions of the room and its purpose.
  2. They will make a hole in the door of the required size and install the grill.

For self-installation, you will need the following tools:

  • Ruler and pencil;
  • jigsaw;

Many people think that the bathroom is the cleanest and safest in an apartment or house. But this is not the case. During operation, a lot of moisture is formed in it. Over time, it, finding no way out, settles on the surrounding walls, ceiling, towels and causes mold or mildew. To prevent this from happening, you need to correctly install the ventilation system in the bathroom in advance.

Thanks to modern technology, you can find different options for exhaust devices. They can be both complex, multicomponent, and ordinary: ventilation grilles on a wooden door to the bathroom.

Exhaust ventilation installation

When the bathroom has an area of 15 square meters and more, then it is advisable to install exhaust ventilation. The main work in this system will be performed by a centrifugal fan. It is installed in the ventilation shaft. Installation does not require skills, and you can install it yourself without any problems after reading the instructions.

Exhaust system

Before starting installation work, you need to check the ventilation shaft for traction. The centrifugal fan is installed exclusively in a vertical position and is inserted deep into the hole. It is fixed to the wall by means of self-tapping screws. When the installation is complete, power is applied to the exhaust system. To do this, lead the power cable and install a switch in a suitable place. It is recommended to connect the wires to the general network in a de-energized state.

Another condition for the installation of exhaust ventilation will be the installation of a glass door in the bathroom. On the one hand, it perfectly withstands temperature changes, it is not affected by hot steam and humid air. On the other hand, due to its tightness, the natural exit of moist air does not occur through such a door, which can lead to its accumulation in the room. Therefore, an exhaust ventilation must be installed in a bathroom with a glass door.

Installing the overhead fan

In small bathrooms, you can ensure the removal of humid air by installing an overhead fan. The main point here is the exact choice of the power of the device, otherwise there will be no sense from it. To determine the power, you need to use the calculations of specialists. For a family of three, the bathroom area must be multiplied by six. The resulting number is the required fan power. When more than three people live in an apartment, the area is multiplied by eight.

Attachable fan

Fan installation begins with box assembly. Power is connected to it through a small cross-section cable using contact terminals. The next step is to fix the box of the device. For this, no accessories are required, since the base is equipped with special latches. When the installation work is completed, check the operation of the unit. Overhead fans have different designs and will fit into the bathroom interior.

The fan can be installed both vertically and horizontally. It can be safely mounted on a suspended ceiling.

Creation of ventilation holes

Ventilation in the door installed in the bathroom is one of the elements of the ventilation system. It may look like a small hole, thanks to which humid air is removed from the room. In some apartments and houses, such holes are the only solution to the problem.

Air vents in the door

Ventilation holes are often made in the lower part of the door leaf and represent a through window in the form of a circle or oval. To decorate such windows, you can use a special decor in the form of rings. Decoration elements can be made of various materials (metal, plastic, wood), depending on the type of door. Work on the creation of ventilation holes is carried out in the following order:

  • to begin with, the markup is done. The decorative ring is applied at the bottom of the door and outlined with a pencil. For high-quality ventilation in the bathroom, at least three holes must be installed in the door leaf;
  • the next step is to drill the holes. This is done with a drill with a crown;
  • at the end of the drilling work, rough areas should be carefully sanded with sandpaper. When the surface is well cleaned, it can be varnished. Thanks to him, the door will not deform and swell from moisture;
  • the final stage is the installation of decorative rings.

The decorative rings for the ventilation openings come in a variety of variations. Nowadays, in addition to simple and aesthetic rings, you can find components with a mesh, covered with soundproofing material or soundproofing.

A variety of decorative rings

Round holes in the door are not the only solution to ventilation in the bathroom. In everyday use, you can find a kind of lattice. Unlike rings, this system has tilted blinds, which prevents drafts from entering through it.

Ventilation grill at the bottom of the door

The grille is an order of magnitude larger than the ventilation rings. On the one hand, this provides better ventilation in the bathroom, and on the other, it is very conspicuous. To smooth out this drawback, you should choose a lattice exclusively in the color of the door leaf.

Installation of the ventilation grill is carried out in the same way as for the holes. Only it should be located exclusively in an upright position .——-

Bathroom door material

Due to the huge choice of materials for the manufacture of interior doors, one can single out those that are particularly suitable for bathrooms.

Natural wood doors. One of the most suitable options, since the ventilation of the room in this case is much better. To prevent the door leaf from being damaged by humid air and steam, it is necessary to treat the surface with several layers of varnish.

Glass canvases perfectly tolerate hot steam, moisture, but seal the room hermetically. In this case, it makes no sense to talk about natural ventilation. It is necessary to install a forced one.

Plastic doors, like glass doors, are not afraid of moisture and retain internal heat well. In the price category, they are cheaper than their predecessors, but they do not have an aesthetic appearance.

Budget doors made of chipboard, MDF are perfect for any interior designs. Since their surface is coated with special solutions, they can easily tolerate exposure to humid air.

Ventilation is a prerequisite for creating a normal bathroom environment. Absolutely everyone can build the necessary device. The above options are perfect for household rooms. Provided that all installation work was carried out in compliance with all norms and rules, the removal of moist air will be carried out efficiently and smoothly. Therefore, if there is no particular confidence in one's abilities, then it is necessary to attract specialists to carry out such work.
