First, resin or bituminous mastic is applied inside the hole. Then a piece of roofing material is laid, and another layer of bitumen is placed on top. You do not need to wait for drying, but you must immediately return the bent triangles to their place. Now it remains only to patch the resulting incisions with another patch. The main thing is that the size of the piece should be several centimeters larger than the damaged area. Apply an additional layer of mastic on top of the patch - this way you will achieve the desired result with a greater probability.

The next step (if, of course, you decide to completely cover the roof) is the complete waterproofing of the roof with roofing material. The panels are laid on a layer of tar, which must be applied in parts as the work progresses. Roofing material strips are overlapped by 10-15 centimeters. If bubbles appear during laying, they are cut with a knife, and the places of the cuts are pressed tightly against the roof surface and additionally smeared with tar.

Pay special attention to where your garage roof connects to adjacent roofs. As a rule, cracks and delaminations of old materials form at these joints.

With the help of roofing felt, a single, almost integral, canvas is created that prevents the penetration of moisture into the room.
