The names of styles in the interior of apartments with examples. What are the styles of interior design (photo examples)

Design: Barlow & Barlow Design

Wall decoration must first of all be neat. It can be smooth wallpaper, and coverings with laconic patterns: stripes, monograms and other decorations. The ceiling, as a rule, is decorated, but if you do not like to weigh it down or in your house very much, it is worth treating the stucco molding and decor carefully, it is better to leave it smooth. The floor is usually wooden. Of course, natural parquet looks better, but if you want to save money, you can find a worthy replacement among budget laminate manufacturers.

Choose pastel colors to make the room look majestic; beige, ivory and white will do just fine. The latter is often used as the main one, for example, in the color of the walls, and details are also distinguished with its help: furniture, textiles, decor. Bright shades will help to complete the interior: you can use red, cyan, blue, purple and other "rich" colors.

Furniture should be massive, with textile or leather upholstery. It is desirable from wood, but this will require a large budget, you can choose something more affordable from artificial material.

The "scandi" style, as its fans call it, came into fashion quite recently, but, it seems, for a long time. always minimalistic and budgetary, but at the same time homely and warm. The style is quite versatile, there are no specific details, but there are many elements that will create comfort and coziness: light walls, minimalistic upholstered furniture, green plants, textiles and useful but beautiful decor.

Design: Ahre Fastighetsbyrå

It is functionality that is reflected in the Scandinavian style. Suffice it to recall the words of the Finnish designer Alvaro Aalto that the architect should make life more convenient - this is the definition applied to the scandi interior.

Another distinguishing feature of this trend is naturalness. Best of all, if the room has furniture made of real wood, textiles are made of linen, cotton or silk. Replace lifeless plastic chairs with wooden ones, even if you own one: rough, rough wood can be an interesting part of your scandi room.

Despite the minimalism, each interior should be individual, family photographs, hand-made accessories, posters on the walls bring this property. It is important that it is not "decor for the sake of decor", but a useful thing that reflects the character of the owners.

Despite the fact that light colors should prevail in the Scandinavian style - white, light gray and pale blue - can add life to the interior.

3 Loft

It is distinguished by extraordinary personalities, somewhat ascetics, lovers of freedom and space. It is in this direction that the individual traits of the owner can be emphasized, since the characteristic negligence of the style makes it possible to roam fantasy.

Despite the fact that usually a loft requires space, today it is created in city apartments as well. It is desirable that the room is not the smallest and with a sufficiently high ceiling. Often, duplex apartments in new buildings are decorated in the loft style.

Design: AMR Design

For a loft, the less finishing the better. Ceilings and walls can be simply plastered to match ordinary gray concrete. Also, this style loves brick - use a decorative material, but it is better for one of the walls. Often the walls in such rooms are decorated with road signs or a basketball hoop - this is done to create the feeling of an external wall, raw and careless. Ventilation and pipes are also not hidden, but put on display, turning them into decorative elements.

In such interiors, you do not need a lot of furniture, because the main decoration is free space. Often furniture is also a subject for zoning. For example, a bookcase can be used as a partition between a bedroom and a kitchen, and a bar counter can be used as a partition between a kitchen and a living room.

4 Contemporary style

Contemporary is simplicity, restraint and functionality. Due to the fact that artificial materials and simple shapes are used in the interiors of such rooms, it can be created with a small budget.

Correct placement of furniture and the absence of unnecessary details distinguish this style, for example, from country or grandiose classics.

Design: Elizabeth Krueger Design

Contemporary style "loves" restrained colors (light beige, milky, gray and white) and modern materials. The floor can be finished with laminate or plain carpet.

Furniture - only functional and simple forms. It should be comfortable and fit into the space, not create a feeling of clutter and not look too massive.

Don't forget about accessories, as they add life to the interior. You can use contrasting shades, but in moderation. Choose beautiful flower vases, hang a few pictures - you can limit yourself to this.

5

Choose one different piece that will be in a different style: for example, chairs for a dining group or a chandelier.

Combine objects in shape. This will make it easier to combine different styles with each other.

12

It seems to many to be ascetic, but this does not negate its comfort and originality.

One of the criteria for the success of the Mediterranean style is the right finish. The simpler the better, this rule dictates the style. And it is advisable to choose natural materials. Perhaps the most typical wall solution would be light colored decorative plaster. Wood or tiles are usually placed on the floor (if it is a kitchen or hallway). Carpets will not fit into such an interior, unless they are small mats.

The choice of color in a Mediterranean-style room must be taken seriously. Pastel shades and pure white are desirable. Designers distinguish several approaches: Greek and Italian. In the first case, they often play on contrasts, diluting white with bright accessories. Complementary colors should be natural: green, brown, blue or light blue, lavender and the like. The Italian approach is characterized by smoothness and monochrome, often using brown in the base and complementing it with olive, gray or pale yellow.

Wood is one of the main materials of the Mediterranean style. Stylish furniture of regular shapes without pretentious carving is very suitable for such an interior.

Textiles will help to add luxury to an ascetic room, especially a bedroom: pillows, sheets, bedspreads, embroidered with shiny threads or beads. The room will look charming and stylish.

What exactly do we call "contemporary style" in interior design? Straight lines, clear shapes, a minimum of accessories and decor that is different from the classic ideas of comfort.

As the name suggests, "modern" means "today", the interior is "here and now". In a broader sense, modern style is, first of all, the direct opposite of traditional style.

Homogeneous surfaces instead of reliefs, fabrics with a neutral pattern or none at all instead of patterned prints, a minimum of accessories instead of shelves and art galleries cluttered with trifles. If a modern style does not have the coziness of a classic interior, this does not mean at all that it is unsuitable for life.

Style axioms

Important!
Often non-specialists confuse the concepts of modern and modern style. But these are completely different things. Experts understand modernity as a powerful trend in decorative and applied art of the early 20th century. It has been studied in detail and has well-recognizable features. Modern decor is free from strict rules and regulations. It also has basic features, but in general it is a very flexible system.

Why does it work: A strong emphasis on lines and shapes (two components of a brilliant design) defines the energy of the style. This is the interior of open spaces, saturated with natural light and air. He does not tolerate confusion and chaos, each element is significant.

You will love this destination if ... In art galleries, you are drawn to the halls of abstract painting. You have several books at home whose title contains the word "minimum". Heavy curtains cause claustrophobia. During your high school years, you were especially good at geometry. Sometimes you want to hide things in tightly closed cabinets and completely paint the rooms white.

What is modern style in the interior?

Design trends, not limited to a rigid set of expressive means, are a kind of antipode to the classics. The style denies her striving for decorativeness, strict adherence to the canons.

It is dominated by the concept of a comfortable and functional habitat, where every detail is logically integrated into the context. The flow is characterized by minimalism. It is realized in focused attention on volumes, pronounced linearity, textures, which creates fertile ground for design experiments.

Beautiful interiors in a modern style are comfortable for life, practicality in operation and aesthetics based on design trends.

Specific traits

1. At the forefront - simplicity and clarity. The main principle is that the form does not overshadow the content. Hence the rejection of catchy decor, straightforward furniture design.
2. Maximum simplicity equals comfort. A neat finish in a neutral color scheme creates a backdrop where you can equally focus on leisure, socializing or work.
3. The layout strives to create an open space, without complex structural elements, often with panoramic glazing. A common solution is a studio-type interior.
4. The discreet setting is the perfect setting for original accessories, art objects, conceptual art.
5. Artificial and natural materials are equally appropriate here.
6. Modern style is abhorrent to mannerism and intricacy, which can be found, for example, in retro and ethnicity. And when the environment is minimalistic, it is also beneficial from a practical point of view (in terms of time and financial costs for cleaning, furniture maintenance, etc.).
7. The design is readily modified into styles that are similar in concept. Make the upholstery of the sofa look like a zebra skin, dilute the monotonous interior with paintings in silver frames, a couple of abstract sculptures - and you get art deco. Arrange lamps with metal fittings, vases, flasks, decorate furniture facades with shiny inserts, and the wall with an urban photo - and you're ready to techno.

Straightness law

A strict orientation along the coordinate axes and a three-dimensional structure of space, expressed through lines, angles, planes, is the fundamental design principle in contemporary design, from architecture to interior items.

But here, too, there is a place for freedom and creativity: you can diversify the composition by including several smooth lines. Just let it be simple geometric shapes: a circle, a sphere, a cylinder. More intricate designs are the lot of traditional design.

In the interior design of a townhouse, chairs in the dining area play the role of such corrective elements.

Open space as a zoning principle

The layout of modern apartments and houses embodies the idea of open space. This means a minimum of partitions and the ability to use one room at the same time for different tasks: this is how a kitchen-dining room, a living-kitchen, a living-study, a bedroom-living room appear.

The organization of space by means of zoning will not give rise to a feeling of emptiness. Such means are:

  • grouping of furniture;
  • podiums;
  • sliding transparent partitions;
  • wall decoration;
  • multilevel lamps.

The beautiful interiors of a private house in the Millennium Park settlement are built on a combination of open space and techniques from traditional and modern styles.

Floor, ceiling and walls

A description of the modern style in the interior would be incomplete without a story about decoration.

Wish for the floor covering - to be smooth and monochromatic. For these purposes, laminate, tiles, natural stone, self-leveling floors are suitable. Natural shades are preferred: coffee, nutty, milky, cognac. If it is wood, then light ash, maple, dark wenge are good.

You can refuse a carpet altogether or choose a product with an unusual texture (for example, a worn effect), a geometric pattern.

The task of wall decoration is to create a background on which furniture and accessories will look beneficial. Therefore, the surfaces should be smooth, not distracting with patterns and texture.

Suitable finishing materials: decorative plaster, paint, liquid or vinyl wallpaper. If you make one wall brighter, highlight it with plaster bas-relief, 3D wallpaper, then the room will not look boring and monotonous.

The standard ceiling solution is a smooth white surface. If space permits, they make suspended two-level structures with built-in lamps. The design of the chandeliers and lamps matches the style: made of glass and metal, without decorations.

In an open-plan apartment, the glossy ceiling supports the zoning of the kitchen and recreation areas. The plaster bas-relief highlights the wall.

Furniture with perfect shapes

Modern styles in the interior prefer clean furniture.

  • The priority is a clear design and lines, the sofa supports are exposed for everyone to see, and not hidden behind the drapery.
  • Upholstered furniture is distinguished by symmetrical proportions, it is convenient and practical to use. Upholstery - woven or leather (made of artificial or natural materials), smooth, monochromatic. Textiles can introduce a couple of bright spots into the design, breaking the monotony of the situation.
  • To save space, furniture is made to order from MDF or chipboard. Most often these are transformers: wardrobes, sofa beds, folding tables.
  • The minimum set of furniture for the living room is a sofa, armchairs, a coffee table, a wardrobe or a modular system to the width of the wall.
  • You can compensate for the excessive straightness of furniture forms with a round table on a disc base, a low sofa.

In a renovated duplex apartment, both seating areas are furnished with sofas with simple design. The carpet in the center of the room maintains the style.

Neutral colors

The main palette of modern design is white, beige, gray, black. It is not necessary to use banal, straightforward colors; you can turn to complex compound shades.
In monochrome, halftones are responsible for expressiveness, as well as textures and volumes that come to the fore. In a contrasting version, the background is painted in white, light brown, light gray, and the furniture is selected dark.

Light interior in modern style - typical format. Especially popular is white, which expands the space and makes it easy to perceive. Additional paints and bright objects will help to avoid the effect of facelessness.

Neutral shades of the warm spectrum (eg brown) will logically pick up the motif of natural materials.

When several colors are combined, one should dominate, be as calm as possible in terms of emotional coloring. Especially in the bedroom. And if you want a splash of color, you need a focal point - an accented wall, a colorful accessory, a piece of furniture.

An example of a modern interior style in light colors is the white finish of a country house. Together with panoramic glazing, color helps to embody the idea of an open, clean space.

Decor features

What will fit: posters, large paintings without frames, abstractions, sculptures with streamlined silhouettes, graphics, living plants.

What will not work: eclectic collections of trinkets, floral patterns, textiles with lush draperies.

A few words about the design of window openings. If the window is on the whole wall, it can be left completely open. If you want to hang curtains, the fabric should be evenly colored, without plant motifs, a geometric pattern, a combination of shiny and matte threads is allowed. The classic way of fastening is suitable - on the eyelets, so the folds are even and uniform. Roman shades, Japanese shades will do. But heavy curtains with lambrequins and tassels, of course, not.

Living room interior in modern style

In terms of planning and decorating solutions, the style is versatile, therefore it is suitable for decorating a living room of any area. Even a compact space can be made comfortable and functional thanks to clear lines, accurate work with composition and shades.

Materials (edit)

Fashionable combination - natural wood plus glass and metal. Volumetric panels as a good way to accentuate surfaces. The design of the ceiling is simple, on the floor - parquet or laminate in a calm shade, with a single-color carpet in the center.

Furniture

Furniture silhouettes are straightforward, designs are transformed. In the center of the seating area there is a sofa of a strict design, a small coffee table with a glossy top. Among the attributes - a huge flat-screen TV, an electric fireplace, an aquarium with a beautiful backlight.

Colour

The interior design of the living room in a modern style implies a monochromatic palette (beige, white, gray, brown), which gives the impression of a cozy, restrained atmosphere. The contrast of a light background and dark planes is appropriate.
The inclusion of bright colors (orange, turquoise, blue, yellow) is possible in detail.

Lighting

Hidden lighting dramatically shapes the ceiling levels, and adjustable spotlights direct attention to the desired areas. Hanging lamps and floor lamps take on the task of decorating and zoning.
There may be no central chandelier. In the most minimalistic version, you can get by with built-in spotlights.

Accessories and decor

Textiles are as natural as possible, monochromatic, without layering textures and massive window cornices. The decor is realized in the form of one or two paintings (abstractions, graphics), a series of black and white photographs.
Planters with live plants (sometimes very large) and vases with artificial flower branches are a good way to dilute the dominant moderation.

The elegant interiors of the living room in a modern style represents the project of a house in the Crimea. The contrast to the light atmosphere is set by the black frames of the window and arched openings. The fireplace area is highlighted with light yellow onyx, a little further in the kitchen area, a new color accent - chairs with mustard upholstery.

In the project of the interior of a townhouse in the Zapadnaya Dolina residential complex, the living room is solved in a palette of light marble, the cold shine of glossy surfaces is balanced by the rounded outlines of a sofa with armchairs and green plants.

The living room in the stylish white interior of the apartment with bright accents received a pleasant contrast with the graphite color and expressive yellow-green backlit inserts.

Kitchen interior in modern style

The design of the kitchen is characterized by external laconicism, the work areas are comfortable and spacious, every square centimeter is functional. The dining area is also arranged as ergonomically as possible.

Materials (edit)

Polished wood, high-quality plastic, tempered glass, artificial stone, chrome-plated metal, laminated MDF panels are used.

Furniture

Glossy, glass surfaces dominate. The fronts, completely smooth on the outside (push-to-open opening mechanism), hide spacious storage systems, exit panels, pull-out baskets, and carousel shelves inside.
Bulky corner sofas are not for this design. Rational plastic chairs or armchairs with simple plain upholstery (often leather) are more suitable here.

Technique

The interior design of the kitchen in a modern style prefers practicality and convenience in everyday life: the necessary equipment is built into the modules (when they are not used, it simply cannot be seen), the devices are controlled by sensory or voice commands, which speeds up the cooking process.

Colour

For the kitchen area in the current design, both light colors (white, beige, gray, blue, etc.) and dark tones (brown, graphite) are appropriate. Often the main technique is the contrast of two primary colors with the inclusion of a bright accent in the form of chairs, wall decoration, a catchy apron, dishes, and textile elements.

Lighting

In a spacious kitchen, several types of lighting are organized: ceiling lamps built-in around the perimeter (in the working area are mandatory) are responsible for the general light, a large pendant chandelier is located above the dining table, the bar is highlighted with its own light (as a rule, three or four pendant lamps). Lighting design is always original, non-standard.

Accessories and decor

Live plants in pots, flowers in vases, fresh fruits in the role of color accents look good here. In general, there are few details on display.

The interior of the kitchen-living room, made in a modern style, meets one of the main principles of the direction - to keep the space open. Thanks to the same techniques in the design of the floor, ceiling, walls, the effect of the visual integrity of both zones is enhanced. The semantic border is the bar counter, dining table, sofa, decorative partition.

The decoration of the modern kitchen from the eco-home project combines rich gray, metallic shades and white gloss of hanging cabinets.

In the project of a cozy interior of an apartment with three rooms, the living room and children's bedrooms are designed in a traditional style, but it was decided to decorate the kitchen with fashionable gloss, original chairs and furniture set without handles.

After renovation, a large country house received a combined kitchen-living room space. The staircase to the second floor serves as a border and graphic accent.

Modern hallway design

The neatness, semantic and color clarity of the interior of the hallway from the first minutes creates a pleasant impression of the apartment as a whole. Decorations, furnishings, door designs combined with warm lighting are easily perceived as a single composition.

Materials (edit)

Glossy surfaces, chrome elements, practical floor coverings (laminate, porcelain stoneware) are appropriate. Walls can be painted in one tone, pasted over with wallpaper in one color or with a simple pattern. Wood panels will look good in conjunction with cabinets.

Furniture

Design - simple geometric shapes. The constructions are transformable. Sliding wardrobes can be combined with a bench, open shelves and hangers. With external rationality, it is not at all necessary to abandon original finds: unusual ottomans, tables, mirrors, reinforced with color schemes.

Colors

The interior of the hallway in a modern style accepts three solutions:

  • neutral light shades;
  • saturated dark;
  • contrast of light and dark.

Monochromatic surfaces visually expand the area of the hallway and make it possible to focus on bright color spots in the form of a carpet, a banquet, an armchair.

Lighting

Spotlights with directional light output are a practical solution for a small hallway. With their help, they accentuate the design elements, the mirror area, the storage area. Additional sources - sconces, built-in lighting - are involved in creating a decorative image.

Accessories and decor

Modern design style is original simplicity. Complex, colorful details are not required here. The desired atmosphere will be set by black and white prints, photo wallpaper, a shiny silver mirror frame, a poster in a bright red frame, a minimalistic vase, a decorative wall panel.

In the design of a small private house, the entrance hall is designed in light gray tones. The marble and wall finishes contrast beautifully with the tinted dark brown wardrobe doors. The poster above the table adds color.

In the design of the townhouse, the decoration of the hallway is as simple as possible and is also decided in contrast.

After renovation, the design of the apartment received a bright entrance hall with a dressing room and shoe cabinets.

Bedroom interior in modern style

Decorating a bedroom in a contemporary design is a balance of practical content and external aesthetics, traditional comfort and minimalistic embodiment.

Materials (edit)

The coatings must be environmentally friendly. Focus on texture: clear wood grain, decorative plaster texture, matte and glossy surfaces.
Typical materials for the floor are parquet, laminate. For walls - wallpaper, painting, wood panels, concrete, brickwork. The ceiling is the most minimalist: a smooth white plane with suspended fixtures for the fixtures.
A frequent reception in the design of a bedroom is a combination of coatings.

Furniture

The bed is of a simple design, all attention is paid to beautiful bed textiles.
A spacious bedroom will accommodate a banquet at the foot of the bed, an armchair or a sofa for relaxation by the window, a wall dressing table, a cabinet in the media area. Often, a workplace is arranged in a room.
There are no impressive dressers, but there are built-in wardrobes, whose monophonic facades visually expand the room. A fashionable addition is the floor rack for clothes.

Colors

Modern style in the design of the bedroom is a natural, eye-pleasing palette, on which richer fragments work expressively.
A common solution is an interior in white tones, where white can dominate or act as a backdrop for colorful details. Other popular options are gray, beige, dark brown bedrooms. If you want to accurately introduce yellow, orange, red, colorful wall landscapes will help out.

Lighting

Spotlights are evenly integrated into the ceiling, the main focus is on the design of local lighting: pendant lamps above the bedside tables, table lamps.

Accessories and decor

Techniques for decorating the headboard area - relief panels, leather quilted panel, illuminated niche with blinds. Floor mirrors attached to the wall add volume to the room.

In the project of a three-bedroom apartment, the interiors of a room in a modern style are presented: each has its own design and mood. The general approach was the use of mirrors and shiny surfaces.

Bathroom interior in modern style

The layout saves a maximum of free space (especially if it is a combined bathroom), even transparent shower partitions work to create an open, clean space. Discreet finishes are the perfect backdrop for high-tech plumbing.

Materials (edit)

The cladding materials must meet practical considerations. Popular finishes are ceramic tiles imitating wood, concrete, metal, marble. With the difference in textures and colors, you can achieve an emphasis on the desired areas. The ceilings are decorated with suspended structures with an even smooth texture, light points are embedded inside.

Furniture and plumbing

Are used: hanging cabinets and cabinets, sinks in the form of round, oval, rectangular bowls, single-lever mixers, built-in and hanging models of toilet bowls. In a large room, both a font and a shower corner are placed at the same time.

Colors

The interior design of the bathroom in a modern style is performed in a light or dark version. The dominant color is white, gray, brown, black.

Lighting

The more matte surfaces in the bathroom, the richer the light should be.
Organization options: general lighting with built-in "points", sconces in the washing area, lighting around the perimeter of the mirror.

Accessories and decor

Simple ways to freshen up a design are hanging shelves, unusual-looking coasters, colorful towels and rugs, and mirrors of different shapes.

Beautiful bathroom interiors, decorated in a modern style and in other directions, are presented in our gallery. For example, the design of a room in a private house on the seaside. The room has panoramic glazing; inside, mirrored panels are combined with light gray tiles and wood.

Another bathroom, visualized in the cottage design project, is designed in gray tones. Warm hues are brought into the ambience by the brown wood of the grilles and the yellow lighting under the sink.

The stylish white interior of the apartment in Yalta is softened by the bathroom trim in beige and wood shades, as well as living plants on the shelves.

Children's interior in a modern style

The design of a children's room in a modern design is suitable for a child of any age, because the focus here is not on the decoration with lace and flowers (in the case of a girl's bedroom) and not on the colorful decor on the theme of cartoons (for boys), but on the comfort of the young owner.

The modern nursery has a neutral background and a pretty color combination. There is no need to be afraid that such a design will seem boring: in a small child's room, the situation can always be revived with numerous toys, and a teenager will most likely want to independently transform the interior to suit his own needs and interests.

Materials (edit)

The requirements for the floor covering are flat, resilient, non-slip and environmentally friendly. Sweat these characteristics are suitable for parquet, marmoleum (in the composition - cork, jute and vegetable resin), hypoallergenic carpet.
The optimal solution for walls is wallpaper (from traditional paper products to eco-friendly products). Stretch or plasterboard structures are acceptable on the ceiling.

Furniture

Upper sleeping and lower work kits are a good way to properly zone the area. Shelves with things and other necessary items should be available so that the young owner gets used to independence. If two children live in a room, it is better for each to allocate its own territory, delimiting the zones with a half-open partition or curtain.

Colors

The white palette is a universal background, because combines well with any shades. A bright room looks spacious and clean, soothing. Practical and easy to clean, these coatings allow you to detect and remove dirt on white surfaces in time.

Lighting

Necessarily multi-level lighting: during the active time of the day, any area of the room (work, playroom) will be available, before going to bed you will need a soft relaxing light. The central chandelier, point sources around the perimeter, table lamps, sconces in the bed area will cope with the task.

Accessories and decor

The role of decorations will be taken over by textiles - curtains, bedspreads, pillows of various colors and prints. On the walls, you can hang posters, photographs, geographical maps, educational drawings. It is important to abandon too banal "children's" interior items and develop aesthetic taste in a child from a young age.

An example of design can be found in the project of a 5-room apartment, where two children are organized.

The first is designed for a teenage boy, it uses a loft theme, a bright print on the wall dilutes the brown-beige palette.

The second one, also for a young man, is made in gray-brown tones with warm sandy shades of the wall panel and yellow lighting of the shelves.

And here is a room for a teenage girl from the project.

Various styles are currently used in the interior. Their description consists in the main features and characteristic features. For example, let's look at a design trend that is in line with current trends - modern. What points should you pay attention to when decorating a room in this style?

Modern is a godsend for owners of both large apartments and houses, and small ones. It looks equally amazing in different squares. What are the characteristic features of it?

It is necessary for the harmonious combination of all available colors. For the background, gray, beige, white colors are most often selected. As for the ornaments, the preference is given to plant motifs, for example, weaving lianas. They have smooth, winding lines, which favorably emphasize the peculiarity of modernity. You can repeat this pattern not only in the decoration of the main surfaces, but also on furniture, paintings, forged products.

The most preferred material is wood. There should be plenty of it. It is also recommended to use curbs, stucco or ceiling frieze. Currently, modern materials allow you to create various ornaments without using the complex plaster technique. It was replaced by polymer structures.

There is a wide choice for wall or ceiling decoration. It can be wallpaper depicting nature, paint, brickwork, ceramic tiles. If possible, it is better to abandon the corners, rounding the room as much as possible.

In furniture, it is also recommended to choose designs with smooth lines. For example, a round table, armchairs with winding legs, poufs. Leather is the best option for upholstery. Do not give up cabinet furniture. With its help, you can create beautiful walls that will delight the owners not only with modern design, but also with spaciousness. For lighting, original chandeliers, sconces and floor lamps are selected. Instances with simple lampshades look great, but with long curved legs in the shape of a semicircle. On the ceiling, you can hang several chandeliers in one row or create an unusual composition. For draping windows, it is recommended to completely abandon heavy ones.A light transparent tulle will be an ideal option. If necessary, you can use thick curtains, but of a simple style.

How to decorate a room in the classicism style?

Which design trend never goes out of style? Classicism! It harmoniously combines splendor, sophistication, restraint and monumentality. This style can be fully recreated only in large rooms. Huge areas, high ceilings, double-leaf doorways, fireplaces, marble staircases - these are exactly the requirements for this direction. As a rule, only partial decoration is used in a standard apartment, but such splendor can be allowed in a private house.

The finishing of the main surfaces should be rich. Even the use of animal skins, tapestries is allowed. If possible, you can build a ceiling in the form of vaults. Coffered options and wooden beams are also suitable. The interior is dominated only by natural unsaturated tones, such as beige, brown, emerald.

The furniture is characterized by massive table tops and legs, carved backs. A sideboard, a secretaire, a sideboard made of natural wood will look great in the room. The drapery of the windows is a work of art. Massive lambrequins trimmed with gilded fringe, tassels, twisted cords.

A large crystal chandelier should flaunt on the ceiling. Candelabra made of iron can be installed in the room. The walls are decorated with paintings on canvas, portraits in massive gilded frames. Bronze figurines will complement the interior. If possible, columns and arches are also installed.

The main features of classicism

When composing a description of the interior of a house in the style of classicism, several important points can be highlighted. Let's take a look at them.

  • Straightness.
  • A combination of luxury and restraint. Items and elements should be rich, but not flashy.
  • Naturalness of colors.

Classic Styles

The classics are chosen by conservative people who value solutions proven by generations. The main focus is on luxurious fabrics and materials. The decor in the design does not attract attention, but plays only a secondary role. The following areas are referred to the classic style:

Like the culture of the peoples, the style of that era has been mixed more than once. For example, there are notes of the Moorish style. But even the mixed design looks pretty impressive nowadays. The main emphasis in the design is made by small details. To make the ethno-style look natural, you need to familiarize yourself a little with the peculiarities and traditions of the country.

Mixed styles

All directions that were not included in the first three types of styling should be combined into a mixed design. From the name it becomes clear that there is a mixing of different directions within the same room or space. These include:

  • kitsch;
  • fusion;
  • eclecticism.
