High quality self-leveling floors Yunis Horizon. Recommendations for the use of a self-leveling mixture for unis horizon floor Fast-hardening self-leveling floor horizon

When carrying out work, as well as during the drying period of the solution, the air temperature in the room should be observed in the range from +5 to + 30 ° C and the air humidity level is not more than 75%.

Substrate preparation:

The base must be strong, dry and load-bearing. It is necessary to remove from the surface crumbling elements, paint coatings, oil, bitumen stains and other contaminants that impede the adhesion of the material to the surface.

Treat the surface of the base with "UNIS" primer in 1-2 layers. Dust should not be allowed on primed surfaces.

Before applying the solution around the perimeter of the vertical surfaces of the room, it is necessary to lay an edge tape for self-leveling floors. The width of the tape is selected depending on the intended thickness of the leveling layer.

Before applying the mortar mixture, install the beacons on the base and adjust them to the required layer thickness using a level.

Solution preparation:

To prepare the solution, pour the dry mixture into a container with clean water in a proportion of 0.17-0.22 liters per 1 kg of dry mixture and mix for 3-5 minutes using a professional mixer at low speeds. Let the solution stand for 1-2 minutes and stir again. Manual mixing is allowed when the mass of the mixed mixture is not more than 1 kg. Add water or dry mixture if necessary. For large areas, it is recommended to mix and apply using a mixing-blower. The prepared portion of the solution should be consumed within 30 minutes.

Attention! When preparing the solution, it is necessary to observe the ratio "dry mixture - water".

It is not allowed to add components other than water to the dry mixture. Adding any components to the ready-made solution, including water, leads to a change in the material properties declared by the manufacturer. To prepare the solution, use only clean containers and tools.

Material application:

Pour the prepared mortar onto the prepared base and level to a uniform layer using a needle roller. Pour the next portion of the solution onto the surface no later than 40 minutes after mixing the first portion. The distance between the poured portions should be sufficient for their spontaneous merging.

For machine application, set the initial water consumption to about 5.5-5.75 liters. for 1 bag of mixture (25 kg), then adjust the consistency of the mortar mixture, changing the amount of water to 0.17-0.22 liters per 1 kg of the mixture. Apply the solution evenly to the base until the specified level is reached, additionally distributing it with a rule or a strip. The pouring area is selected based on the fact that the use time of the prepared mortar mixture is 30-35 minutes, and the mortar mixture applied to the surface should be processed immediately after pouring the mortar.

For machine application, hoses and mechanisms must be rinsed with water no later than 20 minutes after stopping the machine.

Pouring of large areas when it is impossible to comply with the technology of continuous pouring.

The area of the room is divided into several sections using metal profiled beacons. On the previously prepared base, taking into account the expected leveling layer in the places where the beacons are installed, the "Universal Horizon" solution is applied. Without waiting for the mixture to dry, the beacons are pressed into the solution applied to the surface. Metal corners or tubes can serve as beacons. The correctness of the installation of the beacons is checked by the level. Further work is carried out after the solution has hardened under the beacons.

Pouring the floor surface is carried out alternating the filled areas with empty ones according to the general technology of applying the solution. After the poured areas have hardened (4 hours after pouring the floor), you can start pouring the untreated areas.

Drying time for the floor and laying the flooring:

10 mm tile - 3 days, 50 mm - 7 days

Parquet, laminate, linoleum, carpet, etc. 10 mm - 7 days, 50 mm - 21 days

The drying time of the floor is indicated under the condition of a base and ambient temperature of 20 ° C, air humidity not more than 65% in a ventilated room. It is allowed to lay the coating on the floor when the residual moisture is reached.

The floor in the house can be anything, but self-leveling is the most optimal option. This type is a finishing coat without seams. Its other name is liquid linoleum.

One of the most popular samples is the Horizont self-leveling floor from the Unis trademark. He, like any other product, has its own advantages and disadvantages. But everything is worth talking about in order.

Peculiarities

Unis products include a complete set of materials to ensure your home comfort:

  • waterproofing composition;
  • elements that can be used to level and prime the coating;
  • plasters, putties;
  • grout and tile adhesive.

The Horizont self-leveling floor contains the following ingredients:

  • fractional sand;
  • mineral components;
  • polymers;
  • additives to improve the reliability of the floor.

Floor "Horizon" is presented in several forms:

  1. Self-leveling floor "Horizon"- used for covering for installation of decorative elements or topcoats. It is most often used in the "Warm House" system and is produced in 20 kg bags.
  2. "Horizon 2"- used as a finishing coat. It can also be used before installing parquet, tile or decorative laminate. Available in 25 kg bags.
  3. "Horizon universal"- Provides an ideal surface that can be used as a self-leveling coating. Available in packs of 20 and 25 kg.
  4. "Horizon Ultra"- eliminates differences from 5 to 60 mm, recommended for subsequent laying of floor coverings. It is used for the systems "Floating floor" and "Warm floor". Effective in heated rooms with medium to high humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms and toilets. Available in packs of 20 or 23 kg.

Dignity

Horizont, being a product of a domestic manufacturer, is in no way inferior to foreign samples in a number of indicators:

  • It is worth noting the aesthetic aspect of the Unis floor: it creates a perfectly flat surface with a soft, pleasant shine. One of the advantages of Horizont is that this floor is self-leveling. The most optimal surface for it is dense gypsum, cement with sand or concrete. The chances of surface shrinkage occurring are minimal. Horizon eliminates bends, cracks and dents in the surface screed.

Not the least role is played by a needle spatula, with which the unique solution is best leveled. It is recommended to dilute the mixture with the maximum recommended amount of water so that the floor spreads better.

  • Durability is another key characteristic of Unis products. This floor is durable. Upon purchase, a 15-year warranty is given.
  • Unis flooring is fast curing, which means that it does not take much time to install. It dries up in 2-3 hours, after which the owner can walk around the room without risk. But to lay out the finishing material, you will need to wait about half a day. Optimum strength is ensured by a consumption of 13 kg of mix per square meter of surface. It is desirable that the layer for work is no more than 10 mm thick.
  • This floor has a good screed quality. An important nuance: the floor screed retains heat more efficiently if you use a damper tape. In addition, it also protects the screed from vibrations and other physical influences. For a room with standard dimensions, you need a tape 10 meters long. Otherwise, the floor will be covered with cracks in less than six months. You need to install this building material before pouring.

  • "Universal Horizon" is environmentally friendly and safe for health, it can be installed in schools, kindergartens and clinics.
  • The “universal horizon” can be used to lay the screed not only indoors, but also outdoors. Moreover, the self-leveling floor is adapted to any place, regardless of the level of humidity and frost.

If the owner of the house is interested in interior decoration of the space, it is recommended to use "Horizon Eco-Pol". But it will be most effective in a room with heating and low humidity. This material is used as the finishing touch for decorative coatings. It is great for tiles and parquet boards. It contains natural gypsum.

  • Saving money is also characteristic of Horizon Eco-Pol, since this mixture requires very little consumption.

Flaws

With all the above advantages, Unis products are not without disadvantages, so they need to be given no less attention:

  • High quality products require great skill and professionalism in use.
  • Before laying the self-leveling floor, the owner of the house must carefully check the base. If there are various greasy spots or dust on it, the mixture will not adhere to the coating.
  • The slope of the working surface should be minimal, no more than 4 mm. Otherwise, the mixture will not be able to spread evenly.

  • Since “Horizon” is a sensitive material, air conditioners or heating devices should not operate in the room during installation.
  • The instructions for use indicate that for 25 kg of the mixture, no more than 5.5 liters of water is required. However, in this situation, the mixture may be too thick. It can be used to fill pits with a diameter of 100-200 mm and a depth of 2-5 mm. But in wider and deeper pits, the mixture is evened out by half, because it only repeats the relief. The optimal water consumption is from 6 to 6.3 liters, but not more.
  • Since the floor dries quickly, the owner needs an assistant. Otherwise, he may not have time to level the floor, especially in a large room.

  • "Horizon" can be used even on not dry floors, but not too wet. An excessively liquid mixture cannot provide the floor with the required evenness and reliability. The working surface should be at least slightly dry.
  • Some Unis buyers note the high cost of the brand's products. However, the previously mentioned advantages of the product can more than recoup the cash costs.

Instructions for use

To avoid overlaps, the owner of the house must strictly follow the action plan during the work on the creation of the new floor:

  • First you need to carefully prepare the surface. It is necessary to dismantle the skirting board, remove old paint, glue, varnish. To do this, you need to use a spatula, wire brush or sander.
  • It is required to check that the moisture content of the wood is not more than 10% and only then sand open cracks with sandpaper.
  • It is necessary to remove the debris with an industrial vacuum cleaner and treat the floor with a degreasing mixture.

  • It is necessary to fill the cracks with a special resinous mixture.
  • Prepare the concrete mix for the screed. The moisture content of the concrete base should not exceed 4%, the compressive strength of the coating should not be less than 20 MPa, and the tear-off strength should be 1.5 MPa.
  • The concrete screed is leveled with a putty based on a binder component.

  • Then the surface is primed with a brush or roller. Each layer is applied after the previous one is completely dry.
  • A day after the priming, you can prepare the material for pouring: the mixture in the container is diluted with water and mixed with an electric drill several times with a break of 1-2 minutes; the mixture should not have lumps or bubbles.
  • It is recommended to start laying the self-leveling floor away from the entrance. It is necessary to fill the composition constantly in order to avoid altitude differences. Moreover, it is necessary to pour in strips, parallel to the wall on the screed. It is advisable to apply a needle roller to eliminate air bubbles.

  • The next portion of the mixture is put in the same way. The intervals between styling should not exceed 10 minutes.
  • At the end of the casting, it is recommended to cover the floor with foil or foil to protect it from dust. This will help the mixture harden evenly.

The room temperature should be no less than 15 and no more than 25 degrees. The maximum allowable humidity is 80%.
