After installing the windows, it is necessary to make slopes. Slopes are the section of the wall between the window and the wall, i.e. window hole. Slopes are both external (located outside the window) and internal (located inside the room). This article will focus on interior slopes.

Many people believe that after the window is installed and treated with foam, it has excellent insulation. However, the foam, when it is not protected by anything, absorbs moisture and collapses at temperature extremes. Slopes not only hide traces of rough assembly work, but also protect assembly seams, improve heat and sound insulation, and prevent windows from fogging up. However, slopes will be able to perform all these functions only if they are correctly and high-quality installation. With an illiterate installation, about 40% of the heat will go through the slopes.

Plaster slopes

Plaster slopes have more disadvantages than advantages. The plaster sooner or later begins to crack, loses its color under the influence of the rays of the salt lick, and in the event of the inevitable subsidence of the new house, it can "move away" from the wall. In addition, plaster slopes are not quite convenient in terms of their production. Slopes should be plastered in several layers, while each layer should stand and dry. Then these slopes are primed and painted. The entire process can take a week or two. In plaster slopes, the required thermal insulation is not provided, which, with the slightest hypothermia, leads to fogging of the windows.

Plasterboard slopes

Compared to plaster, drywall slopes are more durable. If they are still insulated with cotton wool, then the plasterboard slopes will have good thermal insulation properties. However, a significant drawback of drywall is their "fear" of moisture, and therefore, it is impossible to obtain good waterproofing with their help. Such slopes can be installed in those rooms where the humidity level is insignificant and is kept at a constant level. After installing these slopes, they are also primed and painted. The production time is slightly less than that of plaster.

Plastic slopes

This type of slope is the most versatile. They are quick to install, do not fade, are very practical and easy to clean. Plastic is a very durable material - it will last about 20 years without fail. Plastic can be of different colors, and therefore it will go well with any window. Due to the use of mineral wool plastic slopes for installation, such slopes have excellent hydro and thermal insulation properties, which prevents heat loss and condensation on the windows.

The main thing when installing a window is a slope, its precise installation. Window decoration not only changes the appearance of the window opening, but also hides defects after dismantling the wooden frame, and also protects silicone, sealant and foam from destruction.

Slopes can be insulated using a variety of insulation materials that will keep the house warm and prevent windows from freezing.

The work is done quite simply, you need to choose materials and know the rules for finishing window slopes with one or another product.

Types of window slopes and their advantages

How to make slopes on the windows with your own hands depends on the location of such an opening. The slope can be external, internal and external. When installing the inside of the window, there is no functional role from the design, except for the tightness of the system. The cladding serves to hide the joints of windows and walls. The external slope is necessary to absorb extraneous noise from the street, as well as to preserve heat.

The decoration of the slopes of the windows inside can be different, based on the material:

Plastering: The classic way of decorating a window opening with cement or plaster. The installation of a window made of plaster material will take a lot of time, at least a couple of days, due to the duration of the drying of the solution at each stage. Working with putty and plaster is laborious, requires certain skills, but you can seal it up everywhere. The material is the cheapest, after being applied to the walls, it requires smoothing and painting.
Wooden: Wood is more often used if the window is also made of wood. In this case, outwardly there will be an exquisite expensive look. For work, it is better to select only high-quality wood species, well dried and processed. A quality wood will last as long as plastic. The main advantage is environmental friendliness, the disadvantage is cost.
Plasterboard: It is easy to mount a slope for a GKL window, better than using putties. Drywall is used if the damage to the window opening is strong, and it will not work to cover it up. They are used for internal slopes, if you wish, you can carry out insulation by filling the space between the wall and drywall. Any material is suitable as insulation, especially mineral wool. Such a slope must be putty and painted. The disadvantage is that the material will swell over time.
Plastic: Lining is more expensive than drywall, but has many advantages. The plastic slope is easily mounted, in just a day, maintenance does not require rinsing enough. An ideal frame for a plastic window, since the expansion from temperature is the same. They are used inside and outside, on the facade. The width of the window opening must be up to 25 cm, otherwise additional measures must be taken to fix the material.
Sandwich panel: One of the types of plastic slope. Panels differ from plastic in their flakiness, because they have three layers. A couple of layers of plastic and insulation between them. Perfect for installation without the use of additional materials. The most expensive material for window decoration.

There are also other materials for slopes, for example, siding or aluminum profiles, such materials are more often used to decorate the outer part of the window, from the street. The slope turns out to be voluminous and looks beautiful on the house.

The advantages of plastic slopes


The PVC panel slope option is faster and easier than plastering a window. Of course, it will be more expensive to make a window, but more time will be saved. PVC panels are made of the same material as the window, so when the temperature changes, the window and the installed material will expand in the same way.

Coloring of the material is not necessary, there is no need for lengthy preparation. It takes a couple of hours to remove irregularities after dismantling. For a window, it is better to choose a high-quality type of plastic that will not emit harmful substances in the sun and has sufficient rigidity. Materials should be created in accordance with GOST or SNiPu. In some cases, it is better to insulate the window opening and window sill or use sandwich panels, which already have sound insulation and thermal insulation inside. Thus, mold and mildew will not appear, and the windows will not fog up and freeze.

Installation of plastic slopes


The panel needs processing. The step-by-step instruction is as follows:

  1. First, measurements of the window slope are taken and transferred to the material, then, according to the picture, the material must be cut.
  2. Fastening is carried out on a prepared frame made of wooden planks, fixing on top and on the sides of the slope. Plastic fastening is carried out with a stapler on the staples. You can also use glue to glue the material to the wall or a starter profile to start installation.
  3. The finished slope can be revetted with a decorative corner.

During the work, the advice of professionals is used:

  1. Do-it-yourself slopes on windows require adherence to technology. It is better to choose panels according to the color of the window, so as not to paint them in the future.
  2. Before starting work, you need to cut out mounting spikes on the material.
  3. It is better to cut the material with a jigsaw or a special knife.
  4. If you foam the space between the wall and the panel, you will have to redo the slope. The foam will increase in size and the device will be deformed.

This instruction is very simple, but there are other ways how to make slopes on the window with your own hands.

Alternative methods of installing drywall slopes


You can bring the slopes into perfect evenness using drywall. The gypsum plasterboard material is selected to be moisture resistant, since the fogging of the windows, condensation, will destroy the gypsum material quickly. Regular sheets of drywall are used, but then a primer is used, as well as protective agents, paint. In some cases, a window block with profiles on the sides is used, which is the basis of the entire slope.

For installation, a profile is used, which is installed on the window frame, due to which a frame is obtained. The profile must be covered with acrylic sealant, and then the window must be tiled. The space between the wall and the plasterboard is filled with insulating materials. Further, everything is fixed with self-tapping screws. You can also glue drywall with glue. The mixture is applied to drywall, after which it is pressed against the wall and held for several seconds, everything is set according to the level.

Important! It is convenient to use a metal frame if there is a strong deformation during the replacement of windows and the design cannot be corrected in another way. Installation is carried out with self-tapping screws directly to the profile, the cracks must be sealed with polyurethane sealant.

Next, a primer is applied, plaster and putty are applied, in 2-3 layers. After drying, everything should be painted with colored or white paint. It is recommended to close the corner of the slopes using a decorating corner.

The surface can be designed as you like, for the desired interior. They also make arches on the window or a standard U-shaped window slope.

Plaster slopes for metal-plastic windows

Plastering slopes is inexpensive, the method is old and considered standard. Today there are a lot of putties and any composition can be used. Materials are prepared in water according to the proportions indicated on the package, after which the mixture will be ready. Gypsum mixtures can be replaced with cement-sand mortar.

Before starting work, you need to process the window area, remove dirt and dust, excess concrete and foam. In addition, the seams in the corners are increased so that the putty adheres better to the wall. Initially, you need to plaster the wall, and only then proceed to the slope.

Important! It is imperative to follow the tips below, why? After all, if you do not follow the instructions, then it will not work to properly finish the window, in winter the cold may pass, and the slope itself may fall off after a while or simply give cracks, peeling paint.

Finishing of slopes with plaster with insulation

Window plastering is different, it is possible to use insulation, but you can not use it. Step-by-step window decoration with plaster with insulation is as follows:

  • Insulation is being installed, in this case it is better to use polystyrene or expanded polystyrene. It is glued to an adhesive solution, to a primed wall, which is pre-leveled if there is a large flaw. A good insulation should not exceed 1.5 cm in thickness, you need to look at the store when choosing a material.
  • The fastening of the material is carried out with glue or foam. The solution is applied directly to the insulation.
  • First, the material is glued to the side walls of the window, after which the upper part is sealed. If the work is carried out on the street, then you need to start at low tide. If necessary, the joint of materials is foamed.

  • It is possible to align large window openings according to a similar scheme, but in addition, insulation material is used with a fungus. For such an attachment, you need to punch a hole in the wall, install a dowel through the insulation and into the finished hole.
  • In order for the finishing material to serve for a long time, a mesh for reinforcement is used. The outer corners must be finished with corners that are glued directly onto the putty or other mortar.
  • The mesh is pressed into the putty, the excess material is removed.
  • The mortar is applied using the standard method in several steps, usually 2-3 times is enough to level the window.
  • At the end, a finishing layer is applied and stained.

Such a slope will be washing, since paint is applied over the plaster, which protects the window from water.

Finishing slopes with plaster without insulation

Making a window opening without the use of insulation material is not a modern method, but it is often used. The main reason why such a finish disappears is the wrong execution of work.


The step-by-step process is as follows:

  1. Guides made of metal or wood are placed around the windows.
  2. The lighthouses are level and fixed with dowels in the walls. In fact, the lighthouse shows the percentage by which the thickness of the plaster will be.
  3. The second beacon is placed at the corner of the window opening.
  4. Plaster is thrown onto the wall, uneven walls are leveled using a rule that is drawn from the bottom up along the lighthouses.
  5. By analogy, work is done for the ceiling and drainage.
  6. The main task of the first layer is to fill in the voids and form the corners and the window opening itself.
  7. It is necessary to level the walls when the solution is no longer wet, thus the material is thrown in and the surface is leveled along the beacons. A flat plane should form. Excess material is removed and the window is left to dry the mortar.
  8. The window opening must be primed and a finishing layer of putty up to 1.5 mm thick must be applied.

At the last stage, the opening can be updated with paint or other finishing materials, for example, a paper layer of wallpaper, etc.

Installation of slopes on wooden windows


To work, you need to prepare:

  1. Primer.
  2. Screwdriver.
  3. Self-tapping screws.

The final stage in the installation of modern windows is the finishing of the slopes. A thick profile, multi-chamber double-glazed windows and reliable fittings provide excellent thermal insulation, but the interface between the window frame and the wall of the apartment remains a cold and not beautiful place. Slopes should:

  • Not inferior in terms of the durability of the window structure. Modern double-glazed windows are designed for at least 15–20 years of operation. Slopes must withstand at least a period of time without loss of basic qualities. Few people like to redo them every two or three years.
  • Match the overall style of the window, make up a single whole with it.
  • Maintain or even improve the performance of plastic windows.
  • Withstand mechanical loads and impacts from the sash.
  • If possible, be maintainable.

Slope finishing options

When renovating an apartment in a new building or when replacing windows, you will have to choose how to finish the openings after installing modern structures with double-glazed windows.

You can finish the window slopes using the following materials:

  • plaster;
  • drywall (gypsum plasterboard);
  • gypsum fiber (GVL);
  • plastic panels.

Plaster slopes

Manufacturing technology consists in the installation of beacons, plaster corners and plastering. After drying, the slopes are putty, polished and painted. It is extremely difficult to make high-quality insulation, since the connection of the solution with the wall is lost.

Decorating a window opening with plaster has the following advantages:

  • Versatility. This material is used in rooms with different indicators of humidity and temperature.
  • Affordable price. Plaster is an inexpensive material, moreover, it is possible to save money by doing the work yourself.
  • Strength. Plaster slopes are more resistant to mechanical stress compared to other types of finishes.
  • No seams. Perhaps the main argument of the supporters of such a coating: you do not have to additionally process the joints and mating of the opening planes.
  • Possibility of renovation and repair.

Today it is the "dirtiest" and longest finishing method. In order not to encounter condensation and mold, I recommend choosing this method only in warm rooms, for example, when a window is installed between a heated balcony and a living room, then freezing of the slopes is excluded. And also if there is no room for the installation of sheet material.

Plasterboard slopes

For their manufacture, pieces of gypsum board of the required size are used, which are screwed to the frame from the profile or glued to the sides of the opening. Then the surface of the drywall is primed, putty and painted. In the case of laminated gypsum board, further finishing is not required. The space between the wall and the new slopes is insulated with polyurethane foam and insulation.

Fixing the gypsum board is easier and faster than removing a flat plane with plaster. But do not forget that after installation, a final finish is required, which will take several days. If you use laminated gypsum board, then the installation of slopes is done in one day.

To avoid the stage of finishing, you can take laminated gypsum board instead of the usual one. But in this case, you will have to use special corners to close the ends of the sheets.

Gypsum fiber slopes (GVL)

The technology for installing slopes from gypsum fiber sheets practically does not differ from fastening drywall, the advantages will be the same. At the same time, GVL is devoid of the disadvantages of gypsum board: it is much stronger and tougher, and its moisture-resistant version is not at all afraid of a wet environment.

Mr. Build believes that when properly installed, GVL slopes will outperform other options in terms of performance and appearance.

It is not recommended to use single-sided sandwich panels and decorative wall panels made of thin cellular plastic for finishing a window opening. They do not have the required strength, wear resistance and thermal insulation qualities.

  • Fast installation. Plastic slopes are mounted faster than plasterboard and even more plaster ones.
  • Minimal amount of dirt and dust when lining with plastic.
  • 100% moisture resistance.
  • It is possible to replace part of the slope in case of damage.
  • The frame covering the outer contour reliably protects the junction of the wallpaper and the window opening.
  • Susceptibility to mechanical damage.
  • Impossibility of local repair. In the event of a breakdown, the whole panel will have to be replaced.
  • Poor quality of additional elements such as corners. Often these small parts are made from recycled plastic, which turns yellow over time and stands out ugly against the background of snow-white slopes.
  • Incompatibility with the interior. Glossy plastic will look unnatural in a room decorated in a classic style, as well as in any other design direction that uses natural materials.

The slope is the part of the opening located along the perimeter of the window block. Overheads can be made of plastic plates or wood veneer. The slopes themselves are the final and one of the most important stages of finishing plastic windows. What could be so important at first glance in this decorative element?

Firstly, it is not really a decorative element. In addition to the aesthetic beauty, the slope should perform a number of functions to protect the assembly seam in the places where the window unit joins the frame, and to prevent the penetration of cold air from the street into the room. The functionality of the slope depends on the correct preparation of the window block before installing the slopes and, accordingly, high-quality installation. Separately, it should be noted that mounting foam itself (which is the central layer between the window and the wall) is an excellent insulating material, but provided that the foam must be protected from external atmospheric influences such as moisture, cold and direct sunlight. Without proper protection, the foam will very quickly forget. Based on this requirement, when installing window slopes, we kill two birds with one stone: we protect the assembly seam, keeping warm in the house and organically decorate the window block. In more detail it is worth dwelling on the types of finishes and decoration of the slopes. There are several options for finishing slopes using different methods and materials for work. For example, wooden slopes, which in themselves indicate the exclusivity and prestige of a window opening, since the materials of manufacture are most often natural shields made of wood or even of noble wood species. But to install such slopes requires skill and it will be difficult for an untrained specialist to install and even more correctly decorate such a slope. But first things first, and first we will consider the option of finishing with plaster, this method is also called "Wet finishing of slopes."

Plaster slopes

Plastering of slopes is more suitable for finishing a window block in brick houses and to a lesser extent for wooden houses. But at present, the method of finishing plaster slopes is used less and less (for a number of disadvantages, which we will consider below), and vice versa, slopes from PVC profiles are becoming more common, which, compared to plaster ones, have a number of advantages, such as installation time and that it is important that they have better thermal insulation. But let's look at everything in order. As we have already found out above, in addition to the aesthetic function, the slope plays an important role in sound and thermal insulation and protection of the assembly seam as a whole, creating a so-called barrier to the penetration of cold air from the street, since most often blowing occurs just in the area of ​​the assembly seam. It is here that the weakest spots of the plaster slopes open up, namely, the plaster itself is a poor thermal insulation material with a very high level of probability of hypothermia of the opening during periods of lowering seasonal temperatures, which can lead to cracks and peeling of the plaster and the entire destruction of the slope. There is a misconception that the installation of plaster slopes is cheaper, this is far and not always the case. Consider the installation of plaster slopes with your own hands. To prepare the solution, you need a dry mixture (gypsum or cement) diluted with water. As we have already found out, preparation before installation plays a major role, therefore, the junction points of the window block must be cleaned of dust, dirt and degreased. To improve adhesion (the so-called "setting"), the walls are pre-moistened with a special solution, which also gives the wall strength. Further, the slope is strengthened by mounting a reinforced mesh into the wall. The inconvenience of this type of installation lies in the fact that when applying the cement mixture to the upper part of the slope, it is necessary to apply great efforts when applying the cement mixture to the surface of the walls of the upper slope compared to the side ones. The application takes place by systematically leveling out all the cracks and irregularities, the excess is removed and the angles of adhesion of the slope to the wall are leveled. The main disadvantage of this type of slope is the operating time. Subject to all parameters and application technology, the working time can reach up to a week. This is especially felt when performing a large amount of work (several windows, for example), since plastering requires the application of several layers, each subsequent one is applied only after the previous one has dried. The first application takes place by the so-called "spraying" method, after which it is primed in 1-2 layers only after the previous one has completely dried. The soil is necessary to shape the slopes and level deep potholes. Only after that, by applying a thin layer of putty, small irregularities are hidden. If there is a need for a second layer of putty, then it is applied only after the primer and in the same thin layer and only on a dry surface. Correct preservation of the application technology will shorten the paint coating time and significantly reduce the possibility of coating degradation. Now you can go directly to painting. Most often, plaster slopes are painted with acrylic paint, but sometimes enamels are also used. Just like the primer, painting takes place in two layers, the second layer is applied only after the first one has completely dried. Another drawback, and it is probably the most significant of this type of slope finishing, is the difference in the coefficients of expansion of materials (PVC and plaster) with changes in temperature. That negatively affects the entire slope and will inevitably lead to the formation of cracks or even cracks at the points of contact between the slope and the window block. That essentially boils down to the fact that plaster slopes have more disadvantages than advantages. In addition, with this type of slopes, additional thermal insulation is not provided. Plasterboard slopes

Plasterboard slopes are more popular than plaster ones, and at the same time, special skills are not required to install them. But at the same time, it will be necessary to make no small efforts to create an even coating of abutment to the window block. It is also worth explaining that, in terms of production time, such slopes are comparable to plaster ones. To install plasterboard slopes with our own hands, we need: Plasterboard sheet, insulation, primer, paint and fasteners. Before installing the slopes, the walls adjacent to the window must be prepared in a certain way, namely, the surface must be smooth, dry and free from defects. To install the slope, a base of special profiles is used, on the sides of the window block, which is drilled flush with the edge of the frame. This will be the basis for inserting the cut drywall strips. After the base is installed, all irregularities will be leveled with plaster. After that, a plasterboard sheet is installed, pre-cut into the required dimensions, to do this simply with an assembly knife. After installing the slope, you can additionally insulate with any heat-insulating material, for example, mineral wool. But the plasterboard slope itself has good thermal insulation properties, but at the same time it absorbs moisture, and therefore it is not recommended to install them in rooms with high humidity.

When installing plasterboard slopes, it is necessary to take into account the difference in the degrees of expansion (with seasonal temperature changes) at the points of abutment to the window profile. To avoid cracking in such gaps, it is best to use so-called "soft" paintable transitions, such as silicone sealants. After that, the surface is primed and painted by analogy with plaster slopes. From here comes one very strong advantage of plasterboard slopes - their practicality in operation. This type of slope can be easily repaired in case of minor damage to the upper layer, for this it is enough to re-putty and paint it again.

  • More durable than plaster;
  • They have good thermal insulation properties;
  • Practical, easy to repair;

Cons of plasterboard slopes:

  • Long installation time of slopes compared to PVC;
  • Most plasterboard slopes are not suitable for installation in rooms with high humidity, and even more so for outdoor decoration;

PVC slopes The main advantage of plastic slopes is the simplicity and speed of installation, as well as ease of care for PVC slopes, since the plastic from which the slopes are made is easy to clean and do not fade in the sun, which makes it possible to install both internal and external slopes. Installation takes place within a couple of hours. Plus, the plastic of the slope goes well with the PVC window itself. Durability also plays an important role - a good plastic slope will last at least 15 years without losing its properties. There are a large number of PVC finishing systems from different manufacturers and panels, but the most common version of the PVC slope composition is the initial profile that is attached to the frame, the final profile, which is the casing and the third element is the panel itself (Sandwich panel or hollow panel), which is located between start and end profile. Let's take a look at each element separately. To begin with, let's understand what the slope panel itself is. There are two types of panels:

Panelite or hollow plastic panel, has stiffening ribs and a total thickness of 8-10 mm. - A sandwich panel, which is either free-foam or extruded (more dense), is essentially a seal closed on both sides with plastic. The most popular product for finishing slopes as it is the warmest. These slopes provide the best protection for the assembly seam. It surpasses hollow panelite in sound, hydro and thermal insulation properties, since expanded polystyrene is used as insulation.

They can be both matte and glossy, as well as with imitation of wood coating, in addition to this, there is a choice of any color coating. Sandwich panels for slopes are used with a thickness of 10 mm.

Both options are distinguished by practical versatility, quick installation, easy to clean, but the main positive difference from plaster and drywall slopes is aesthetics, since they completely coincide in composition, texture and color with the window block, which means the same expansion coefficients with seasonal temperature changes. Let us examine what the so-called starting profile is or it can also be called the initial L-profile.

The initial profile is most often of two types: - L-profile, it is a PVC profile in the shape of the letter "L", hence the name. It is used as the initial element of the slope, the panel itself is installed in it. Fastened with screws, sometimes with glue, but less often.

Clip-on profile, It is used in the same way as the L-profile, for fastening the panel to the window frame. It differs only by fastening: snapping into the groove of the window support profile. Unlike the L-profile, the clip is profile-independent.

End or Finishing profile, as the name implies, is used to complete the transition from panel to wall. And just like the initial profile, there are two types: - F-profile. As the name implies, it is shaped like the letter "F". It is fastened by "gripping" the slope panel, while holding it rigidly. Sometimes attached with glue. - The platband is universal. Fastened with screws and closed with a lid, which is very convenient in installation and looks aesthetically pleasing as the end of the slope. In the trade program of the TBM company there is another interesting option - a Slope with a casing, which is a hollow panel that is structurally connected to the casing. It is mounted in the same way as the Universal Platband. Also, when installing PVC slopes, hollow or versatile corners are used. The corners come in different thicknesses and designs depending on their application. Let's go directly to the installation of PVC slopes. As in the case of the plaster and plasterboard slopes described above, a lot depends on the preparatory work. Before installing the slopes, the surface of the walls of the junction of the window block should be cleaned of dust, degreased and preferably moistened with water, it is better to use a water spray to improve the adhesion of the foam as the foam expands due to water absorption. After preparing the opening, it is necessary to measure the height (H), width (W) and depth (D) of the window block. Next, based on the dimensions obtained, we cut the panels. For cutting, you can use any tool, a jigsaw, a circular saw, an assembly knife or a hacksaw, the main thing is that the tool has a fine tooth. Cutting takes place according to the following dimensions: (H) x (D) - 2 pcs. - These are our side slopes; (W) x (D) - 1 pc. - The upper part of the slope; Also, by analogy with the dimensions, we cut additional elements of the future slope: Starting profile (L) for side slopes, length is 2 x (D); Finishing profile (F) for side and top slopes, in the amount of 2 x (H) + (W) + 80 - 100 mm, with a margin cut at 45 degrees at the joints. Next, we install the L-profile, already cut to size, along the perimeter of the window block using self-tapping screws, with a distance between each other of 15 cm.With the installation option without using the L-profile, the slope panel is installed in the depth of the opening beyond the edge of the frame by 3-5 cm. If the panel is closed with an F-profile, it is important to take into account the size of the inner strip of the finishing profile and leave this place free from polyurethane foam or glue. Next, we install the upper and then the side panels of the slopes in the initial profile (L), align and press the panel against the opening, taking into account that a gap of 20-25 mm is obtained between the plastic and the base of the opening for subsequent filling with foam. After that, it is necessary to fill the installation opening between the panel and the slope with foam or mineral wool. After that, along the entire perimeter of the window block, we close the slope panels with an F-profile (having previously attached the panel to the self-tapping screws) or use a universal platband fixing it to the self-tapping screws and closing it with a lid, or we use a hard corner for mounting glue. We apply PVC glue or silicone sealant in the corners and joints of the panels. After the glue has dried, remove the protective films from the panels.

Separately, it is necessary to highlight the advantages in the subsequent operation of PVC slopes. To remove dirt, it is enough to wipe with a damp cloth. To remove stubborn dirt, special cleaners of PVC surfaces are used.

Advantages of PVC slopes:

  • Does not require preliminary processing and subsequent painting;

  • More durable than plaster and plasterboard slopes

MDF slopes

Less often in the installation of slopes, such a type as fiberboard is used. Manufactured by pressing sawdust with the addition of various combined resins. This negatively affects the moisture-resistant characteristics, and which in turn limits the options for placing such slopes in rooms with high humidity. A variety of PVC films are used as the "front surface", or natural wood veneer is used.
