The official botanical name in Latin is Crassula. The plant got the popular nickname because of the leaves, shaped like coins. It is also called a fat woman, a fat tree, a tree of happiness, a tree of love, a tree of luck, a monkey tree, a coin tree, a jade plant, a jade tree. The plant has even more species than names. More than three hundred species, mostly common in the Southern Hemisphere, are ranked in the family of the jersey. They have a variety of colors and leaf shapes: silvery and spotted, pink and with a reddish border, matte and glossy in all shades of green.

Only a few species have taken root in indoor floriculture. The most popular is Crassula Ovata (Crassula egg-shaped) and its two varieties Hobbit with large and Crosby's Compact with small leaves. With proper and easy care, the money tree grows beautifully on windowsills. But whether this unpretentious plant will bloom is a big question, and depends on set of conditions.
