Introduction
On January 23, 1959, a group of tourists in the number of 10 people under the leadership of Igor Dyatlov went to the mountains of the Northern Urals. This campaign was organized with the support of the Tourism Section of the Ural Polytechnic Institute and was dedicated to the XXI CPSU Congress. Before the group stood a difficult task. Trying to understand the series of events that have become fatal for tourists, the author gradually formed his own vision of the development of the tragic situation on Mount Holychachl. This was facilitated by the study of the materials of the criminal case, materials of the search and research works of Askinepi, Buyanov, Ivlev, Koskin, Rakitin, Slobtsov and many other researchers, as well as the study of a large amount of materials presented on the Internet on sites and forums on this topic.
The storyline of the narration, in general, does not pretend to novelty. The main aspect of the study of the tragic events is the reconstruction of the most likely actions of the group members in the key points of development of this human drama. In addition, the author tentatively determined the time of the incident of two catastrophic events that eventually destroy the entire group of tourists.
In the afterword, the results of the analysis of some mysterious facts associated with the campaign and with members of the Dyatlov group are given, and also considered, briefly, the inconsistency of some versions of the group's death for other reasons.

Two days before the catastrophe
