Corrugated corrugated pipes for heating and other corrugations used in heating systems. Corrugated pipe for heating Convection heating from corrugated stainless pipe

Below are the characteristics of steel heating pipes, the needs of state parameters, as well as ways to connect them. Additionally, you will be able to get acquainted with the types of fittings and how to install them on the contour.

Metal at work: sides, both strengths and weaknesses

Stainless steel pipes for heating

Steel is deservedly considered the highest quality material for equipping heating systems. Until recently, the appearance of analogs made of plastic, a steel pipe for heating was used very often. Strong sides:

You can press on the contour with your hand and even stand on it, and he will very easily hold it. Such products hold water shocks better than any others;

  • excellent resistance to the heating process.

For plastic circuits, the maximum possible heating level of the heat carrier is 95 degrees, then there is a risk of depressurization. The metal melts at a temperature of 1500 degrees, this does not happen in heating systems. The highest temperature in steam heating is not more than 200 degrees, which is negligible when compared with the strength reserve of stainless steel pipes for heating;

  • low rate of thermal expansion.

Heat supply from steel pipes in a private house is allowed to be done secretly, bricking them into the wall without additional materials compensating for linear and volumetric temperature expansion.

Most plumbers are afraid of steel heating pipes, because they simply do not know how to work with them. Good old-school masters are becoming less and less common.

For open-type heating systems, these are those in which the heat carrier moves independently without the help of electric pumps, products with a large diameter are used. Plastic is not used for this. At the same time, in open circuits, the main enemy of steel is air, with which the heat carrier is saturated in excess in the expansion tank.

In addition to the installation process of the circuit, metal is used to equip chimneys. The boiler pipe made of stainless steel, which leads the combustion products to the outside, must be thermally insulated. To do this, heat-resistant materials are used.

Corrosion of the profile pipe

How air destroys metal:

  • the water is saturated with air in the expansion tank and draws it into circulation;
  • when the heat carrier is heated, air bubbles begin to actively separate from water molecules;
  • metal, when interacting with water and air, begins to oxidize, corrosion occurs. If there is no air, corrosion does not appear.

For closed-type (sealed) systems, the problem of corrosion is not so acute, although air also penetrates into the sealed circuit simultaneously with the heat carrier. To reduce this process, air separators are installed at the entrance, which, while mixing the flow, emphasize oxygen bubbles from it and bring it out in automatic mode. Another scourge of metal systems is the difficulty of installation, which is associated with both the heavy weight of the structure and the necessary professional skills of the installer.

The working life of steel heating pipes made of ferrous metal is about thirty years. Stainless pipes for heating are virtually eternal.

Characteristics according to GOST

Production is carried out in 2 ways:

Seamless steel pipe

If we proceed from this, emphasize welded and seamless stainless steel pipes for heating. The largest diameter of welded products is much higher than that of seamless ones and can reach 2.5 meters. They are welded by oven or electric welding. The latter can also be forgiven in a gas chamber.

Gosstandart No. 3262-75 determines that steel pipes of a house heating system should be produced in sizes from four to twelve meters. In addition to the measured one, they can be manufactured according to a specialized order of unmeasured length, in parts from one and a half to four meters. The cross-section of the inner products can vary from 6 to one hundred and fifty millimeters, and the outer diameter is, based on this, from 102 to 165 millimeters. Depending on the wall thickness, the steel pipes of the heating system are divided into:

The mass of products also depends on this characteristic, which is calculated in kilograms per 1 meter of the product. The calculation is carried out taking into account the density of the material, which is 7.85 g / cm3. For finished products, the standard allows a maximum deviation:

  • the outer diameter of steel heating pipes is no more than 0.4 mm for products with an internal section of up to 4 cm. For products with a relative passage of more than 4 cm, the deviation is noted in percent and is 0.8;
  • mass - no more than eight percent;
  • geometry - on one meter, the curvature should be in the aisles of one and a half percent for products with a diameter of up to 2 cm inside. And for pipes, the symbolic passage of which is more than 2 cm, the deviation is no more than 2 percent.

Galvanized profile pipes for heating according to GOST 3262-75 are 3% heavier than ordinary ones. The zinc coating must be uniform and at least 30 µm thick. On the ends and threads, its presence is optional.

Also, the ends of the products stand out, which can be smooth, threaded, or with a coupling. The thread is long and short. It can be applied to one or both sides of the product. In addition, chamfers can be made at the request of the customer. In this case, the metal should not exfoliate at the ends. On the surface from the outside, insignificant scratches and other imperfections are allowed, which are not at all reflected in the characteristics of the products.

Much attention is paid to the protective zinc coating, if such is calculated in the production process. The layer of protection of a stainless steel pipe for heating must be smooth, without bubbles and flaking. Threads can only be cut after the protective layer has been applied.

In the final step, the zinc steel pipes of the heating system are pressure tested. For this, hydraulic tests are being carried out, according to the results of which ordinary pipes must hold a load of at least 25 atmospheres, and reinforced ones - at least 32 atmospheres. At the request of the customer, this figure can be increased to 50 atmospheres.

Fittings, methods of docking

For pipe connections, two ways are emphasized:

Threaded fittings for steel pipes

butt-joint welding;

Fittings include fittings for steel heating pipes and flanges. Let's consider any product separately. Fittings come in different shapes (straight, 90 degree angles, crosses, etc.). The main thing is the way to connect them to the contour:

Fastening connection in the form of a thread is considered to be detachable. Welded fittings are therefore an integral type of connection. They do not have a thread, and a heating system made of steel pipes is combined using electric or gas welding. Clamping fittings practically do not stand out from substitutes for plastic systems, except for some additional parts, for example:

  • clamping ring - not to be confused with clamping (collet);
  • plastic seal ring.

Clamp fitting design

Clamp fittings do not give a good connection and are used as a short-term measure. Such a joint is mechanically very sensitive to stress and can leak. In this case, all the advantages of steel simply come to naught.

Flanges are a 2-ring joint. They are bolted together, and are attached to the contour either by thread or by welding. There are also differences in their surface, it can:

Steel pipe flanges

  • be flat;
  • have a groove or spike;
  • have a groove for the seal ring.
  • This type of connection is considered collapsible and is used for products, their diameter exceeds 5 cm.

    All about the installation process

    The main points of the installation process:

    • the very first thing you need to do is cut the pipes into the desired lengths.

    To do this, use a pipe cutter or a reciprocating saw. Pipe cutters divide the product into sections using cutting discs, which need to be changed from time to time. For stainless steel, there are special discs that are sharpened in a special way, which makes it possible for them to work with more viscous materials. Using a hand tool is not always possible, for example, when it is necessary to cut off a part of an already supplied contour. Thanks to this, a reciprocating saw is used for this. It is attached to the contour so that an even cut comes out;

    Do not use an angle grinder to cut off part of an already supplied contour. In addition to sparks, there is a risk of COP or electric shock if water from the system enters the instrument. Use a reciprocating saw.

    Flax thread sealing of the fastening connection

    There are several types of threads: tapered and cylindrical. To cut the threads, you will need a die cutter, which is likely to be manual or electric. To reduce friction and heating of the metal during operation, oil is applied to the metal surface. When installing, the fastening connection in the form of a thread is sealed with flax;

    To do this, you need a pipe bender. Some craftsmen can do without it, they just heat the place of the bend red-hot and bend the product with their hands. Only in this variant will the symbolic passage become narrower with almost 100% probability.

    In addition, registers are made of pipes made of metal. A heat supply register made of a smooth steel pipe is like a battery consisting of several parallel pipes, which are interconnected so that the heat carrier can freely circulate through it. Heat supply registers made of steel pipes are used in premises not for living, in production, in a farm, in schools and kindergartens, etc. Also, you can install a Mayevsky crane in them, thanks to it you can bleed off the air jams that have appeared.

    The fastening of steel heating pipes is carried out according to the following tips:

    • for products with a diameter of up to 2 cm - every 2.5 m;
    • for products with a diameter of up to 4 cm - every 3 m;
    • more than 4 cm - every 4 m.

    As soon as the system is ready for operational commissioning, it is necessary to carry out a check, which is called pressure testing. This is testing the circuit for strength and tightness under pressure exceeding the working one.

    How to use stainless steel pipes of the heating system correctly?

    If you look at a lot of publications and other information that concerns stainless steel pipes, then first of all you will see: the authors describe the properties of these pipes exclusively in superlatives, while noting only one drawback - their high price. They are actually not cheap, but if you use stainless heating pipes correctly, the benefits (also economical) of such use will more than offset your high costs.

    Greedy pays more

    It is necessary to start with the fact that saving is absolutely not the same as saving wherever there is an opportunity. Stainless steel pipes are offered by suppliers as seam and seamless. Suture - much cheaper. However, if you, guided solely by economic considerations, use seam (welded) stainless pipes of the heating system, get ready for the fact that after a while, albeit a long one, in your heating system, first of all, there will be leaks.

    The system will need to be changed, welding or caulking of stainless steel pipes is a very difficult and large and expensive process. This will happen much later than when using ordinary, "black" seam pipes, stainless steel pipes have high anti-corrosion characteristics, but it will happen first. Stainless pipes of the heating system should be used exclusively seamless.

    More about saving, and not only….

    If you seriously “saved” and used “black” pipes in the heating system, it may happen that your financial blunder will be invisible for a long time. More precisely, its cause will become invisible. You will sometimes acquire and change taps, valves, connecting elements with threads on both sides and other shut-off valves, scolding "dishonest" manufacturers, and the reason is the very "economy".

    The reason is in the "black" pipes. They have the property of oxidizing, and the oxidation product - corrosion - clogs and destroys the shut-off valves. When used for heating stainless steel pipes, this cannot be simply by definition - stainless steel pipes are never covered with rust.

    We have not touched upon here an individual big topic - the use of elastic stainless steel pipes for heating. The range of their use is quite wide - these are "underfloor heating", and "warm walls", and boiler piping, and much more, which will inevitably lead you to cost savings, although the initial costs can be significant. But the main positive qualities of stainless steel pipes - strength and anti-corrosion resistance - with a certain period will first of all give a natural, and not an imaginary financial effect.

    Which pipes of the heating system are better: steel, plastic, copper, metal-plastic, stainless steel, characteristics, photos and videos

    In today's world, there are very, very many pipes that are designed for heating, and any of these types are great when in their own place. So it is best to immediately figure out where and which pipes of the heating system are better.

    Types of heating pipes

    Types of pipes for heating systems:

    • copper;
    • made of stainless steel;
    • plastic;
    • steel;
    • from metal-plastic.

    It is worthwhile to figure out with great attention what exactly will be most suitable in your case.

    Profile pipes

    Profile pipes have been on the guard of heat supply for more than a decade. They are reliable, have good performance characteristics and have been tested over time. Metal pipes are also dear to professionals due to the fact that they have a rather long service life. For steel pipes, temperature differences and even very large heating and pressure coefficients in heat supply do not matter.

    But if it seems to you that this option is considered ideal, do not forget that this is not the most affordable pleasure of all. Moreover, the heating system of a house made of pipes made of metal is quite good.

    Metal pipes are the most difficult to hide from prying eyes, and only an experienced welder should deal with the installation of a heating system. Likewise, the use of such heating pipes is reasonable where the greatest strength is needed, some very large diameters are used or you need to get rid of outdated iron pipes.

    Plastic pipes

    Plastic pipes for heating recommend such advantages as a sufficiently long service life, wear resistance, low weight, ease of installation and a good low cost. You can also select among the required number of solutions of designers. However, different plastic pipes have different compositions, which require their own installation conditions.

    Plastic pipes and accessories

    Before making the final choice, you should seek detailed advice from a professional who will recommend which pipes for the heating system of a personal house are more convenient to buy.

    An interesting property of plastic pipes is their ability to lengthen or bend at the moment a very hot heat carrier is fed into the heating system of the room. This must be taken into account if it is supposed to close the plastic pipes into the wall or close them with decor components, otherwise the rickety pipeline will be able to squeeze out even a whole piece of plaster from the wall.

    Moreover, pipes made of plastic for heating systems cannot be bent, so for those places where bending is needed, you will have to purchase a corner. And if you need a lot of such elements, then you can forget about the aesthetic component. Plastic pipes are also incredibly difficult to install and have impressive dimensions. Experience is required to install plastic pipes. If the installer overheats the pipe, then during installation the bore will either narrow down impermissibly or completely block the passage.

    By their own nature, pipes made of metal-plastic for heating are aluminum products with walls no more than one tenth of a millimeter thick, inside and outside covered with a specialized film based on polyethylene. Pipes made of metal-plastic have very high-quality connections to each other and are able to keep the given shape for a long time, even if they have to be bent.

    If you go through the comparative properties, then, unlike other pipes, metal-plastic has only one big drawback - the metal fittings they need is very expensive. Pipes and fittings for them should be bought exclusively in special stores. Despite the high price, you will get confidence in the quality of the products. At the same time, offering inexpensive pipes of a similar type most quickly means that they are trying to implement a fake for you.

    Copper pipes

    In the course of thinking about the choice of heating pipes, heating networks do not need to neglect information about copper pipes. Copper pipes are well appreciated by professionals for large areas of use, because copper pipes can be used not only for the installation of heating systems, but also for gas mains, water supply, since the high content of chlorine does not have a detrimental effect on the metal.

    Copper piping

    Plastic pipes can literally die when they encounter some kind of chemical element. However, copper pipes in heat supply, on the contrary, in many cases will increase their own strength, as a result of the formation of a small plaque on the metal surface. The working life of copper pipes can be 50 or even 100 years.

    They are not devoid of a copper pipe and certain disadvantages. For example, they are very difficult to cook, so this should be done by a professional with experience, equipped with specialized equipment. Connections Locked with specialized press connectors, in the middle of which there is a rubber ring. Over time, it dries out, and depressurization occurs.

    Moreover, copper pipes for heating systems are too expensive and cannot be combined with products made of any other materials. They are afraid of electrochemical corrosion.

    Stainless steel pipes

    A heating system assembled from pipes made of stainless steel is actually considered the standard of reliability and strength. Stainless steel pipes for the heating system are able to withstand a fairly high operating pressure without loss, they have a wonderful and very modern design, they do not change the composition of the heat carrier and are not afraid of any corrosion.

    Practical heat supply made of stainless steel

    Stainless pipes can be easily assembled both from the outside of the pipe and in the middle. But in order to please yourself with such an acquisition, you will need to pay a very large amount.

    In fact, it is up to you to decide which pipes of the heating system are best for you. However, it would be nice to approve your own desires and turn your own questions to a professional who will help you not to make a mistake with your choice.

    Galvanized heating pipes, flexible pipes and corrugated stainless steel pipes

    Keeping pace with the times, all much improved products are being developed, as well as various pipe options, for example, flexible stainless steel galvanized pipes for the heating system. There is a wide selection of materials from which such pipes are made, we will consider in detail.

    Galvanized heating pipes

    1. Cast iron pipes. These include the ribbed galvanized pipes of the heating system, they are heavy pieces of hollow cast iron. They are used not only as radiators, but also as heat exchangers, which take away excess heat from furnace gases.
    2. Black steel. In this case, the transverse plates are pressed onto the finished pipe in order to make more heat transfer.
    3. Stainless steel. These include corrugated stainless steel pipes for heating. Due to the small wall thickness, the pipe is flexible, and since stainless steel is very strong, such pipes have a wide range of operating temperatures, as well as pressures.
    4. Plastic. Since plastic does not have great strength to mechanical action, it is used exclusively for external protection of polymer and metal-polymer pipes.

    Installation option for corrugated stainless steel pipes

    This is a fairly new material for pipes, thanks to which it is a curiosity for most to do their installation. From the design side, there is nothing original here, but from the side of the pipe connections there are certain subtleties. To connect them, fittings without a union are used, the corrugated pipe for heating is crimped from the outside with a gasket made of high-temperature silicone.

    Corrugated stainless steel pipes for heating

    • Strength and resistance to pressure surges. This makes it possible to use it in centralized heating systems simultaneously with bimetal radiators.
    • Chemical stability of stainless steel.
    • Ease of installation. The tools are very simple, and it takes less than a minute to assemble one joint.
    • Long service life that does not get shorter even when the media temperature is exceeded.
    • Such pipes are not afraid of defrosting, since they are very resistant to frost, thanks to this they can be used as pipes for the heating system, as well as for the "underfloor heating" system.
    • Corrugated stainless steel pipe for heating does not corrode, and sediments do not appear in it.
    • Its texture is plastic, and it also contains an unusual design.
    • Can be safely used in damp and basement rooms.

    Underfloor heating made of stainless steel corrugated pipe

    When compared with the positive qualities and good qualities of using stainless steel, there are quite a few disadvantages:

    • Appearance.
    • Price. Even nowadays, such stainless steel heating pipes are quite expensive.
    • If stainless steel is regularly deformed, it will eventually deteriorate. Due to this, such pipes do not need to be installed where there is a very high probability of damage from mechanical factors of the pipe or the influence of an aggressive environment.

    The pipe should not be often bent and unbend in one place, it is also undesirable to twist it. Flexible stainless pipes of the heating system can be stored for a long time in a dry room, it is only necessary that they are protected from a variety of damage from mechanical factors and not come into contact with various metal materials.

    Having appeared in our market, a stainless steel pipe for heating quickly found its own niche and became very popular due to its own merits, and even more so - durability. But taking into account not the lowest price, not everyone who wants to be able to establish for themselves such a pleasure as a flexible heating liner. Although, if we take into account their strength and long-term use, when implementing all the operating rules, and also taking into account the technical properties, such a cost is not considered high, but quite optimal.

    Heating Corrugated Stainless Pipe

    Stainless steel pipes used for the installation of water supply and heating systems have a number of advantages when compared to products made from conventional carbon steels. These advantages include durability (which can be up to 400 years), as well as the hygiene of the material.

    In addition, the inner diameter of pipes made of stainless steel does not decrease over time due to the accumulation of oxidation products on their inner walls (and, naturally, such products do not enter the water supplied through the pipes, which is especially important for domestic water supply). That is why stainless steel pipes are increasingly being replaced by products made of ordinary carbon steels, which, due to active oxidation, can last no more than 10-15 years.

    Benefits of stainless steel

    The advantages that stainless steel pipes have for heating and organizing water supply are primarily due to the properties of the material from which they are made. These include steels, the chemical composition of which contains at least 13% chromium. With a minimum chromium content in products from it, they can be successfully operated in an environment characterized by low aggressiveness. If the quantitative content of this element is brought to 17%, then the stainless steel already successfully resists the effects of even a 50% solution of nitric acid. That is why stainless steel alloy pipes are the ideal material for the arrangement of water supply and heating systems.

    The surface of stainless steel pipes does not oxidize under the influence of acidic and alkaline solutions, and ensures high hygienic characteristics of the water transported through them. These qualities, along with exceptional durability, make these products the best choice for equipping food and pharmaceutical industries.

    When choosing stainless steel pipes for arranging a water supply or heating system, one should take into account their high cost and more significant installation costs. Meanwhile, such pipes will not have to be replaced in 10-15 years and they will not have to be regularly maintained, which means that the costs will fully pay off. It should also be borne in mind that when using the crimping technology, the installation of stainless steel pipes takes a minimum amount of time.

    In what cases can stainless steel pipes oxidize?

    In some cases, even stainless steel pipes can corrode. Rust pockets on the inner walls of such pipes appear if water is transported along them, containing a significant amount of chlorine in its chemical composition. If the composition of the water is normalized, the rusting process of the pipes will slow down and they will retain their anti-corrosion properties.

    Concentrated chlorine solution, which is used to disinfect plumbing and other systems, can also cause corrosion of stainless steel pipes. In such cases, in order to eliminate the cause of the corrosion, the pipes must be thoroughly flushed after the end of the procedure.

    Stainless steel in the "warm floor" system

    Flexible stainless steel pipes

    In the modern market, in addition to conventional stainless steel pipes, types are widely represented. Due to the advantages of such pipes, which were invented at the end of the last century, they are increasingly being used to solve a variety of problems, both industrial and domestic.

    So, pipes of this type are successfully used today for:

    • installation of water supply networks through which both cold and hot liquids are transported;
    • arrangement of such a heating system as "warm floor";
    • laying of gas communications;
    • creation of fire extinguishing systems that use water.

    From stainless steel they differ in a number of advantages, among which the following are worth highlighting.

    • Such products can be successfully operated in conditions that differ even in very low temperatures.
    • Flexible stainless steel pipes are able to withstand even significant water hammer in water supply and heating networks.
    • The high flexibility of such pipes, as well as their ability to accept any configuration, makes it possible to use them for the installation of communications in hard-to-reach places and in rather cramped conditions.
    • With the help of special fittings, characterized by high strength and corrosion resistance, it is possible to install corrugated pipes made of stainless steel rather quickly. At the same time, labor savings when establishing gas or water supply can reach 80%. It is also important that for the laying of communications from such pipes, special training of personnel is not required.
    • The service life of a communication consisting of stainless pipes is measured for more than one hundred years, and the fittings with which they are connected can last at least 30 years (this is especially important when organizing urban water supply and heating).
    • Corrugated pipes made of stainless steel are lightweight and compact (when assembled), which significantly reduces transportation costs.
    Based on the listed advantages, it can be concluded that flexible stainless steel pipes are an innovative solution that allows not only to perform high-quality installation of gas and water supply systems, but also to significantly save money on such a procedure.

    Installation methods

    When laying a water supply system or other communications using stainless steel pipes, several types of connections are possible, namely:

    • welded;
    • the use of flange-type connecting elements;
    • crimping.

    To connect with the help for arranging water supply and heating networks, you will need not only special equipment, but also a qualified specialist. This process, as a rule, is carried out, and the welding itself is performed in an inert gas environment. The most modern method that allows high-quality connection of stainless pipes is plasma welding, which also requires the use of special and expensive equipment.

    In domestic conditions, it is not always possible to use welding, since for this it is necessary not only to have at our disposal special equipment, but also to attract a qualified specialist to manage it. In this regard, in such cases, threadless flanged or threaded fitting connections are used.

    Flanges are, in fact, two ring elements that are connected to each other using pins or bolts. To achieve tightness when using flanges, a special sealing element made of rubber or other soft polymer material is used. Parts such as flanges, which are quite large in size, are used mainly when pipeline elements need to be periodically dismantled and serviced, spending a minimum of time. The disadvantages of this type of connection is that they react poorly enough to temperature drops and pressure surges in the pipeline.

    Corrugated pipes for heating are a novelty on the market. They were invented in Japan, then they moved to Europe, and now they are conquering our market: the combination of the properties of stainless steel and the flexibility of the corrugation turned out to be very successful, and even the installation is very easy. Moreover, they can be used completely for wiring the system and only build in small sections: the piping to the boiler, radiators and other elements of the system (replace a leaky piece, for example).

    Advantages and disadvantages

    This kind of materials is becoming more and more popular. And all because many problems are solved at once:

    There are many advantages. And they are all weighty. Now let's move on to the disadvantages:

    As you can see, there are drawbacks, but they have ways of eliminating or leveling, and they don't look so scary.

    How to make a stainless steel corrugated pipe

    The raw material is SUS (AISI) 304 stainless steel metal strip. This strip is fed into the forming machines from which the cylindrical workpiece emerges. Further, it is welded automatically in an environment of special gases, which prevent the burning out of alloying metals (it is they who give the "stainless" properties of steel, and when welding in an oxygen-containing environment, they evaporate, which is why the seams collapse in several years, and maybe months, depending on the conditions operation and transported environment).

    The resulting pipe can be operated and is called unannealed because the next stage is annealing. In this case, the corrugation is heated to high temperatures and then cooled. It turns out an annealed corrugated stainless steel pipe. It has the best strength characteristics (it holds its shape better, the metal becomes more plastic, bends / unbends a large number of times without deformation and destruction), but it also costs more. Outwardly, there are no differences, but when unannealed products are bent, distortions may appear, but this does not happen with annealed products. It is impossible to distinguish them in appearance, but the lack of marking on the pipes is also upsetting, and how, in fact, you can put inscriptions on a "wavy" surface. Covers for coils are marked, but they are easy to replace, and the difference in price is quite decent. So, in this case, you can only hope for the decency of the seller (well, try to bend it several times and see what will come of it and, on this basis, determine the type of product).

    In this video, a section of a corrugated pipe is pressure tested. Impressive.

    Manufacturers and what to look for when buying

    There are most of all Korean companies in our market:

    • KOFULSO ("Kofulso") - according to the opinions of specialists of the best quality, since the first appeared on the market and has a fairly large production experience. Its thickness of the sealing rings in the fittings is two times greater, the weight of fittings and coils of pipes of the same name is greater. So the increased cost (compared to Hydrosta and Lavita) is justified.
    • Lavita ("Lavita") - shows itself quite well, but there may be problems in the fittings - sometimes when tightening the metal ring cuts through the wall (may be due to an error during installation - tightening the pressure ring), which causes leaks (per 100 fittings 1-2) - is cheaper than Cofulso.
    • Hydrosta ("Gidrosta" or "Khidrosta") - in the same price category as Lavita, but there are complaints about leakage of fittings: for 100 installed 5-7 pcs.
    • Neptun ("Neptune") - characteristics and reviews could not be found;
    • Meibes (Meibas) - there are no complaints about the quality, but for the price there is - very expensive with approximately equal parameters with those given above in the list.

    Reliability data was taken from the installer's message on the forum, this is the result of several years of use: first we worked with Cofulso, then switched to cheaper Lavita and Hirostat, after replacing fittings and, accordingly, customer complaints, weighed, looked, and returned to KOFULSO.

    What pleases the stainless corrugated pipe is that there are no fakes yet. Maybe because a lot of equipment is required, and the technology is quite complex. Or maybe because the market is just developing, and there is still no great demand for such products.

    The video shows the production process of corrugated stainless steel pipe.

    To calculate the volume of the heating system, you may need information on the amount of water contained in a running meter of a corrugated pipe:

    • 15 mm - 0.219 l;
    • 20 mm - 0.447 l;
    • 25 mm - 71 l;
    • 32 mm - 0.982 HP

    And about the area of a running meter of the corrugation of the corresponding diameter:

    • 15 mm - 0.064652 m 2;
    • 20 mm - 0.095004 m 2;
    • 25 mm - 0.121394 m 2;
    • 32 mm - 0.15218 m 2.

    What to look for when buying: first - the step of the corrugation should be the same, the seam should be even and intact, there should be no chips, cracks or other damage. You can bend / unbend several times - there should be no deformations or other consequences. When buying fittings, pay attention also to the appearance and completeness, pay special attention to the condition and quality of the seal rings. The range of fittings is almost standard: all conceivable options exist in nature, but whether they will be at each specific outlet is a question.

    Installation of stainless corrugated pipes for heating

    In addition to very good performance characteristics, this material is attracted by the quick and easy assembly of pipelines. You only need fittings and a wrench. All heating devices are connected with their help. Choose the required type (corner, tee, cross, etc.) and proceed to the connection:

    Similarly, there is a transition from a regular pipe to a corrugation: first, attach the corresponding fitting to the riser or branch, and then insert a corrugated stainless steel into its other end and tighten the ring. And no special adapters are needed.

    The only thing to consider when installing corrugated stainless steel is that it is still flexible. Therefore, install fasteners more often than when laying the usual shape of pipes. This will have little effect on the cost - one retainer costs ten or two rubles, depending on the company, and even if you install them twice as often, the maximum that threatens you is an overrun of 200-300 rubles with an average length of the heating line.

    Corrugated stainless steel appeared only a few years ago. Therefore, the entire operating experience is calculated over several years. The maximum that was found on the forums is 7 years. Typically, there are no negative reviews - there are no reviews of those who have installed such pipes. There is a lot of negativity from specialists who put on other products from other materials, but they are all theoretical and speculative. Some are more like the truth, others less. The most plausible drawback is greater resistance to water flow than smooth-walled ones. Although none of those who installed flexible stainless steel pipes for heating, did not note the need for more powerful circulation pumps. For many, such a system works with wall-mounted gas boilers. Moreover, underfloor heating and conventional wiring are used.

    There is a message from the owner of an apartment in Moscow: he shares his impressions of the installation - just a year and a half ago he changed the wiring: the flight is normal, there are no problems. He also cites the words of installers, whom he defined as competent specialists (according to the criteria: speed of work + skills). So, they said that they have been assembling corrugated stainless steel hoses for 8 years (the message is 1.5 years), there were no problems / calls for repairs. When choosing between Kofulso and Lavita, they recommend Cofulso - the quality is better.

    There are some recommendations (experience of use) for "high-temperature" use at an environment above 110 o C. It is advised periodically, about once a year, to check the condition of the gaskets. After a specified period of time, they "become stiff". In order to avoid leaks, it is recommended to change (they cost a few rubles), the replacement itself for a couple of minutes - to unwind, assess the condition and, if necessary, put another one - tighten it. They only recommend not to overdo it when tightening - if you use a key, then completely without fanaticism - high-quality fittings hold well and twisted by hand, but with pinched gaskets they lose elasticity much faster.

    There is an experience of using such a stainless corrugation in a floor screed in a bath: two contours (30 m and 15 m). One of the braided pipe (recommended to eliminate problems with the reaction of metal to concrete) and one without - in its pure form. There are no problems - they are 5 years old. If we take into account the conditions in the bath: very high humidity and high temperature, periodic freezing / thawing, then corrugated pipes for laying floor heating in an ordinary apartment / house can definitely be used, because the conditions are much better than in a bath.

    Another owner of a warm floor made of a stainless corrugated pipe advises to do it according to the principle - one coil - one circuit and not to close the fittings tightly, but to put combs. He used an unannealed pipe, which he tied to the grate (photo).

    There is another warm floor of 20 mm corrugation with a pitch of 20 cm. It is also operated without problems.

    The situation is similar with the piping from the Kofulso pipe and Lavita fittings in the boiler room - there were no accidents or leaks for two years of operation (the fittings were taken from another company due to the fact that they contain metal gaskets, which seemed to the owner to be more reliable than polymer ones).

    Some of them even make radiators. This is how it looks (see photo). They say that it heats well, because the heat transfer area is large. But it will be problematic to wash such a radiator, but as a way out - the device of a protective decorative screen.

    Outcomes

    Judging by the reviews, the picture is even too rosy: no one complains. This is even a little alarming. But maybe just not so much time has passed: they began to actively install a corrugated stainless steel pipe for heating only a few years ago and the "sides" have not yet come out. Although, if there were serious problems, they would have already manifested themselves, and negative messages would definitely appear: a person is more inclined to describe what he does not like the product than to write about trouble-free operation.

    Everyone decides for himself whether or not to install a stainless steel corrugation for heating, but everything looks quite attractive: both prices, characteristics and ease of installation. Even the reviews are encouraging.

    Due to the fact that pipes are made of SUS304 stainless steel (Russian analogue 08X18H10), the product has a number of unique characteristics that allow it to be used in domestic and industrial heating systems:

    • corrugated stainless steel pipe bends easily without kinking and cracking. In this case, the product retains its original bore diameter;
    • high strength characteristics;
    • stainless steel pipes are resistant to corrosion, and the smooth inner surface prevents the formation of deposits;
    • resistance to water hammer, temperature extremes, defrosting;
    • simple installation with a minimum number of connections. Corrugated pipes are used to create warm floors. In addition, it is allowed to lay communications in the walls. For a reliable connection of products, no special equipment is required (wrenches are quite suitable);
    • steel pipes are resistant to rodents, mold and mildew;
    • long service life.

    You can always buy a corrugated pipe for heating at a bargain price in Moscow from the MetaFlex company!

    In the cold season, a continuous process of centralized heating of residential buildings, office and industrial buildings is launched. Despite the simplicity of the heating mechanism, high quality stainless pipes are required to ensure efficiency. Thanks to the use of a grade of steel that does not lend itself to corrosion, these products are durable and reliable.

    Types of stainless pipes for heating

    According to the manufacturing method, this type of rolled metal is:

    • welded,
    • seamless,
    • thin-walled,
    • thick-walled.

    All stainless steel pipes are manufactured in accordance with the existing quality standards, undergo control and inspection. Heating with seamless products is the smartest option. After all, the process of trouble-free operation increases many times compared to the service life of a stainless pipe with a seam. A thin-walled version of the product is perfect for a heating system. Moreover, this is the most profitable solution.

    Features of the use of stainless pipes for heating

    When thinking about buying this product, do not forget about its relatively high cost. After all, a stainless pipe is made from expensive steel grades. Also in the production process, additional surface treatment is used. Therefore, using a stainless pipe for heating is not always the most economical option. Its most important advantage is its long service life. Also, stainless steel pipe is widely used in drinking water supply systems. The corrosion-resistant alloy is harmless to humans.

    The company "Verna-SK" is engaged in the sale of pipes of the highest quality, both for industrial enterprises and for private clients. Optimal pricing conditions and a high level of service are what distinguishes us from our competitors.

    The corrugated type of pipes for heating is very popular today. Made of corrosion-resistant steel grades, they differ not only in quality, but also in ease of installation. To connect pipes of this type, you do not need a welding machine and complex tools. Their advantages when installing heating systems are obvious. The corrugated pipe is flexible and strong, durable and reliable.

    With the help of this type of rolled metal, not only the main network is mounted, but also its other sections:

    • radiator connections,
    • risers,
    • intersection and routing nodes.

    A large number of pipes are used for the manufacture of compact heating batteries. After all, steel products are supplied with different parameters: diameter, wall thickness, length. Welded and seamless pipes are manufactured according to the following standards:

    • longitudinal seam water and gas pipe - GOST 3262-75,
    • seamless - GOST 8731-78 and GOST 8732-78.

    The stainless pipe has a number of indisputable advantages over similar products made of conventional steel. For all questions about ordering products, you can contact the specialists of the company "Verna-SK". Our prices for pipes are constantly updated with new items.
