Assembly and installation instructions for roller blinds. Installing roller blinds yourself is easy

Recently, apartment residents and owners of office premises are increasingly choosing roller blinds as light protection structures. In this regard, more and more often the question arises of how to hang blinds with your own hands.

Unlike classic curtains or curtains, roller designs require a special approach during installation. The peculiarities of the work will depend on the way in which you are going to install the structure on the window. In order to properly install the roller blind, you should carefully familiarize yourself with their design features and the types of fasteners used.

The choice of roller blinds for windows

The roller blind mechanism has a lot in common with the blinds.

Structurally, the roller blind is one of the types of blinds. The only difference is that to darken the room, not transverse slats, assembled into a single structure, are used here, but a fabric curtain wound on a shaft.

When the curtain rises, it opens access to the room for natural light, while lowering it creates in the room, depending on its density, either a slight translucent twilight, or almost complete darkness.

On the modern market, there is a wide range of fabric roller shutters that differ in color, material texture, design features and their cost. Therefore, before choosing roller blinds, you should decide which option is most suitable for your room.

The dimensions of roller blinds depend on the place of their attachment: on the window frame, window opening or separately on the window sash

With the help of roller shutters, you can give the interior almost any design, decorating it either in a strictly business style, or creating home comfort in it.

Before you go to choose roller blinds, you should first take measurements from window openings or sashes. It all depends on where you are going to attach the structure.

Structurally, fabric roller shutters can be open or closed. The first option provides for the installation of the shaft directly on the fasteners, and in the second, the shaft is installed in a protective box, which, in turn, is already mounted on the fasteners.

Installation methods for roller blinds can be very different:

  • on the window opening;
  • on the wall or ceiling above the window opening;
  • on the sash of the window.

Each of these options has its own pros and cons. Let's take a closer look at how to install roller shutters using each of these methods. First of all, you need to assemble roller blinds from components into a single mechanism, and only after that attach them to the window. Before assembling the structure, read the instructions and drawings attached to it.

It should be remembered that if, due to improper or careless assembly, the mechanism is disabled, the manufacturer's warranty for it will be void.

Installation of roller blinds on a wall or ceiling

To install roller shutters over a window opening, you will need a building level, a tape measure, a puncher, a screwdriver and a pencil. All work is done in several stages:

  1. We determine the place where the base of the device will be mounted - a roll shaft or a protective box.
  2. Using the level, mark the strip along which our structure will be attached.
  3. We apply a roller blind to the strip and align it to the center of the window opening. In the right places, mark the marks for the holes in the wall.
  4. With a puncher, we drill holes in the wall for dowel-nails and use them to fix the base of the roller blind on the wall.

To adjust the length of the fabric part of the curtain, we release it so that it is 10-15 cm below the window sill.

In this place, on the regulating chain, we install a stopper that will prevent us from lowering the curtain to the floor. For information on how to hang roller blinds on the window, see this useful video:

Installation of roller blinds on a window frame

This method has several advantages:

  1. Even with the curtain down, there is free access to the window sill.
  2. In order to open the window, it is not necessary to remove the curtain fabric onto the shaft.
  3. You can close only one window sash with a curtain, thereby adjusting the level of illumination of the room.

You can fasten the structure to the frame using all the same self-tapping screws. As in the first case, we mark with a level and a pencil the place where the brackets will be installed. For a lesson on installing a roller blind on a window frame, see this video: We apply the roller shutter to the frame, leveling it in such a way that the canvas completely covers the glazed part of the window. Then we fix the base of the blinds to the frame using self-tapping screws.

Methods for fixing roller shutters without damaging the frames

Roller shutters can be attached to the window with double-sided tape

However, often the residents of apartments have a question: "How can you hang blinds on plastic windows without damaging the frames?" In this case, you can use double-sided tape to install the blinds on the plastic window.

We also mark the window opening, mark the approximate horizontal line. Then we glue double-sided tape on the back of the roller shutter base. We release a fabric curtain over the entire length of the window sash, tear off the protective film layer from the second side of the tape and, trying on the curtain to the window, attach the roller shutter base to the frame. As a result, we get a sufficiently strong connection that can reliably hold the blinds on the window frame.

For a stronger connection, before using the tape, you should clean the frame from various contaminants: dust, grease stains, etc.

Also, instead of adhesive tape, it is possible to use assembly glue ("liquid nails") or special spring brackets. In this case, all the nuances of this mounting method should be taken into account: liquid nails provide an excessively strong adhesion between the base of the blinds and the frame, so it will be difficult to dismantle the roller shutter without the risk of damaging it or the window.

Spring brackets are intended for mounting the roll system only on the opening sash of the window. Installing them on blind doors will not work because of their design features. How to install roller blinds without drilling, see this video:

Based on the foregoing, any home craftsman can install blinds on the windows of his house. To do this, you do not need to have any transcendental abilities - it will be quite enough to be able to handle simple construction tools, and the desire to do this work with your own hands.

  • pencil;
  • roulette;
  • scissors;
  • a screwdriver and a drill with a Ø 2 mm drill (you do not need a drill and a drill for installation on double-sided tape).

Open the package and take out the MINI roller blind. Do not use a knife or razor blade to cut the packaging, so as not to damage the product!

Option number 1 - how to fix roller blinds WITHOUT drilling - on double-sided tape

Place the roller blind on the window, use a pencil to mark it up for gluing. In order to avoid uneven winding of the fabric on the shaft, due to non-horizontal installation of the product, we recommend using a building level. Degrease the bonding areas with any means available to you - apply alcohol, gasoline for lighters or nail polish remover (containing solvent) to a cotton swab and wipe well. Remove the protective film from the tape from the upper eaves of the roller blind. Pressing firmly, glue the entire structure to the window leaf. Please note that mounting on double-sided tape will work with standard sized items, but not recommended for larger items (due to weight).

Option number 2 - how are MINI roller blinds attached to self-tapping screws

Place the roller blind on the window, mark in the attachment points with a pencil. In order to avoid uneven winding of the fabric on the shaft, due to non-horizontal installation of the product, we recommend using a building level. Screw the upper brackets to the frame of the plastic window using self-tapping screws. Snap the upper eaves of the roller blind into the brackets until it clicks into place.

Option number 3 - how to install MINI roller blinds on hinged brackets

Insert the plastic hinge brackets into the grooves of the upper cornice. Remove the protective tape from the hanging brackets. Degrease the bonding areas using any available means and remove the protective layer from the tape from the hinged brackets. Put the whole structure on top of the window sash according to the markings and press firmly at the attachment points.

Fabric roller shutters enjoy well-deserved popularity among consumers due to their practicality and attractive appearance. Although the correct installation of roller blinds is somewhat more difficult than hanging traditional curtains. Nevertheless, any home craftsman who has performed accurate measurements and the following instructions will cope with it.

Types of roller blinds

Fabric roller shutters are a straightened fabric fabric wound on a shaft placed above the window. The bottom of the canvas rises and falls depending on the need for shading. There are several types of fabric roller shutters on sale, differing in size, attachment point and installation principle.

Classic open

The classic open curtain system is best suited for wide openings, panoramic windows and bay windows

They are mounted on the wall, ceiling, in the opening. Moves with a chain or spring mechanism.

Advantages:

  • cheap, the cost depends on the area of \ u200b \ u200bthe canvas;
  • immediately close a large area of glazing;
  • take away a minimum of space from the room.

Disadvantages:

  • when lowered, they interfere with the opening of the window;
  • get dirty faster with dust;
  • require drilling into walls or ceilings.

Shaft with fabric roller shutter in a plastic box matching the color of the window frame

The shaft with the wound canvas is hidden in a plastic box, the color of the window frame, to which it is attached. The blade adjustment is controlled by a spring or chain mechanism.

Advantages:

  • the box and guides merge with the contour of the window frame; when rolled up, the curtains are invisible;
  • guides are installed on a glazing bead, the canvas is almost adjacent to the glass;
  • does not interfere with the opening of the window;
  • do not take away the area of the windowsill;
  • can be used on roof windows;
  • you can install two boxes at the same time in the upper and lower position.

Disadvantages:

  • the most expensive fabric roller shutter design

MINI blinds open

MINI open blinds are mounted on a window frame or sash

They are mounted on a window frame or sash. Regulated by a chain mechanism.

Advantages:

  • fastened without drilling a window profile;
  • a stretched invisible line serves as guides;
  • do not interfere with the opening of the window;
  • do not occupy the area of the windowsill.

Disadvantages:

  • require careful handling;
  • glue in the heat can "float"

An interesting kind of mini-roller blinds are double day-night roller blinds. This is a canvas of alternating dense and transparent strips of the same width, unwound in two layers. Shading is done by combining stripes in layers. The main advantage of the model is the smooth regulation of natural light.

Day-night roller blinds smoothly adjust the level of natural light

When deciding which type of roller blind to choose for a particular room, one should take into account the interior design, the size and position of the windows.

  • The space of deep window openings and window sills is commonly used for decorative and functional purposes. It is recommended to install cassette blinds in them, which take up a minimum of space and do not distract attention.
  • Shallow openings without a window sill and narrow windows are best decorated with curtains over the opening. A long cornice and a wide canvas to match the color of the walls will visually increase the size of the window.

For all types of roller blinds, it is possible to integrate an electric drive to automatically regulate the position of the curtain.

Mounting methods, selection of the type of fixation

Classic roller blinds are mounted on plastic brackets with dowels driven into the base. Depending on the design, the base can be a horizontal surface of a ceiling or opening, a vertical surface of a wall or opening.

Classic roller blinds are mounted in the opening, behind the opening to the wall or ceiling

Cassette and mini-rolls are fixed on the window profile with self-tapping screws. But models with fastening without drilling are more often used. The shaft, guides and clamps are glued to the profile with double-sided foam tape, and on the opening sashes, the shaft is additionally secured with a clamp.

The position of the curtains with a spring mechanism is fixed by the spring itself. When the blade is pulled down, the spring does not hold it. As soon as the tension has ceased, the mechanism clamps the shaft in a predetermined position. To raise the curtain, pull it slightly, releasing the clamp, and then release it, allowing it to rise to the desired level.

The position of the blade in the chain mechanism is held by a pair of clips, put on the chain. So that the chain on the opening window does not hang down, a latch is attached at the bottom of the profile, into which it is tucked.

Preparing for installation

Before buying a blind, it is necessary to determine the dimensions of the product for each glass unit. The fabric should cover the glass well, but not extend beyond the frame.

  • The mini-roll should be 3 cm wider than the glass. On the sash, from the handle side, the overlap is 1 cm, and from the hinge side - 2 cm.
  • The size of the curtain in the system with U-guides mounted on the glazing bead exactly matches the size of the glass. If the glazing bead is oblique or rounded, the guides are glued to the frame. In this case, the size of the fabric is equal to the outer perimeter of the glazing beads.
  • The canvas mounted in the opening should be 4 cm narrower than it. Measurements are taken at the window frame.
  • The size of the curtain mounted on the wall or ceiling is determined depending on the design solution. It should be 10 centimeters or more wider than the opening, and its edge can go down to the windowsill or to the floor.

All roller blinds are manufactured as a designer kit with all the necessary components. You don't have to buy additional materials.

1 - Control mechanism for lifting and lowering the curtain. 2 - Brackets. 3 - Line guide. 4 - Chain stops in the extreme positions of the web. 5 - Bracket pad with adhesive tape. 6 - Magnetic clips of the lower bar

  14. Stretch the canvas to the bottom. Use double-sided tape to glue the guide line fasteners to the bottom profile. Insert the free ends of the line, tighten them with the adjusting screw
  15. Attach the guides to the chain in the extreme open and full closed position of the blade.
  16. For curtains on a sash with a chain mechanism, glue the chain retainer to the profile at a height of 10 cm from the window sill.

On windows of small height, you can do without a guide line. And so that the closed curtain does not move away from the window in the ventilation position, magnetic clips should be used. They are attached to the lower frame profile and to the plumb line.

To open such a curtain, remember to first disconnect the magnets and then pull on the chain.

If you want to remove roller blinds from the PVC profile, you will face the problem of cleaning the plastic from the glue. Take a household hair dryer and a rag soaked in solvent. Heat small areas of glue with a hair dryer at maximum temperature and then wipe them off with a rag.

Operating procedure

  1. Remove the curtain and accessories from the packaging.
  2. Degrease the glazing bead and profile with the included alcohol wipes or a cloth moistened with alcohol.
  3. Remove the protective film from the U-shaped profile and, pressing firmly, glue it to the vertical glazing beads.
  4. Free the back of the box from the protective film.
  5. Release 10-15 cm of fabric from the basket.
  6. Bring the box to the upper frame profile, thread the ends of the plumb line into the guides.
  7. Glue the box to the frame.
  8. Remove the box from the glued mounting angles. Press the corners firmly against the profile for a secure fit.
  9. Replace the box.
  10. Attach restraints to the chain to fully open and close the shade.
  11. Hang a decorative weight on the lower loop of the chain.

It is not so difficult to install roller blinds yourself at home or in the office. It will be much more difficult to choose from a huge variety of fabrics suitable for the interior.

Installing a roller blind on a plastic window is a great alternative to standard curtains and blinds. Such products do not look more accurate, but in terms of functionality, if they are inferior to prefabricated structures made of aluminum strips, then not much.

Today this type of curtain is gradually gaining popularity, and over the past three years I have had to install roller blinds more than a dozen times. In this article I will share my observations and recommendations for choosing such products.

What are these curtains?

Main elements

A roller blind is a fairly simple design, which is most often mounted either on the window itself (in the upper part of the frame / sash), or on the wall or ceiling above the window opening. The mechanism used in such products allows you to quickly raise and lower the canvas, controlling the premises.

  1. The product is based on the horizontal axis (shaft), which is made either from a metal or plastic pipe. The axis is designed for winding the canvas, and therefore make it perfectly round and smooth.
  2. Brackets are installed on the sides of the axis for fixing the product on the wall. The brackets are usually combined with a control mechanism - a special device that drives the curtain.
  3. The mechanism for raising and lowering the curtain can be either open or closed. In the second case, the brackets, the axle and the assembled part of the canvas are located in a special box. The boxes are made of lightweight and durable plastic: white, painted or laminated with a polymer film to imitate natural wood.

  1. A chain of metal or (more often) plastic links is attached to the mechanism, which drives the control unit. This element is usually made closed: so we just need to pull either one or the other hanging edge, and the curtain will begin to move.
  2. The main detail of this whole system is, of course, the canvas itself. It is attached to the axle and rolled up into a roll. In the lower part of the canvas, a sheer bar is fixed, which plays the role of a load. When the trigger is turned, the roll is untwisted and, under the action of a plumb line, the fabric is unwound from the axis or pulled out of the box.

It should be borne in mind that a variety of modifications of such curtains are presented on the market, suggesting both different fastening methods and a different type of drive mechanism. However, the general scheme of the device remains unchanged, therefore I declare with confidence: if you deal with one model, then with others the likelihood of difficulties will be reduced to almost zero.

Dignity

Before you hang the curtain on the window, it will not be superfluous to deal with its pros and cons. There are objectively more advantages of roll structures:

  1. First and foremost, there is almost limitless design potential. The canvas can be made from cotton, linen, silk, polyester, as well as from synthetic materials - vinyl, fiberglass, non-woven, etc. Naturally, the list of shades, textures and patterns will also be the most extensive.

  1. Along with the attractiveness, it is worth noting the possibility of choosing the degree of shading: you do not want to lose light - choose translucent curtains, if you want to completely block the flow of sunlight - buy a dense canvas and provide not even twilight, but almost absolute darkness.

  1. Some manufacturers have in their product lines multi-layer models with the ability to adjust the intensity of shading, anti-reflective properties, and increased thermal insulation characteristics. There are also curtains for rooms with computers: inside a layer of fabric, outside - a reflective screen.
  2. Practicality is another plus. Most manufacturers process cloth for canvases with special compounds, so dust does not settle on the curtains, and dirt can be removed simply by wiping the surface with a damp sponge.

This does not apply to old stains, so try not to start the situation: a full-fledged wet cleaning of the canvas is possible, but in order to iron it without folds and marks, you will have to tinker. And it's not a fact that it will work out.

  1. A key advantage, I would also call a compact size - curtains do not take up much space and do not interfere with installation on a window sill and other large objects. Mini-curtains can be hung directly on the window sash - they will not interfere with its opening, neither in pivot or tilt modes.

  1. Finally, I would attribute durability to the advantages: with proper care, the curtains will serve you exactly until you want to change something in the design of the room. And then they can be taken to the country!

disadvantages

Such products also have disadvantages. I would not call them in any way significant, but it is necessary to mention them. So:

  1. If you have not previously encountered such structures, then you will have to spend time and figure out how to assemble the product, how to fix it and how to use it. It takes a little time, but you still have to get used to it.
  2. The brackets and lifting mechanism for most models are made of plastic, and quite fragile. That is why you need to use the curtain very carefully, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the gears, and you will have to manually lift the curtain.
  3. Before fixing such a product in the kitchen, carefully consider what material you need to take for the canvas. Fabric options tend to accumulate unpleasant odors, so you will have to change them regularly.
  4. It is strongly not recommended to wash the curtain in water. Yes, dirt is removed quite effectively this way, but along with dust and fat deposits, the protective impregnation is also removed. In addition, after washing, ironing the fabric in such a way that it takes on its original appearance is unrealistic!

In general, there are disadvantages, but it is difficult to call them significant. Yes, some aspects need to be borne in mind, but because of them, you shouldn't give up buying a really cool thing.

Well, one last thing. Speaking about the advantages and disadvantages, one cannot ignore such a parameter as the price. . Here I am inclined to attribute the curtains to the budget segment: the cost of one curtain 80 cm wide and up to 170 cm long is about 1000 rubles.

The simplest horizontal blinds for the same window opening will cost about 650 - 750 rubles, so the savings are negligible.

If you want more - there is more, and much more!

Regular curtains can be found cheaper, but do not forget that curtains and tulle will also need a ceiling / wall mount, which will “eat up” all the savings.

Installation technologies

Step 1. Fitting curtains to size

In this section I will show you how to install roller blinds on plastic windows. The products are mounted quite simply, so you can do it yourself.

As a rule, in retail chains, roller blinds are presented in a wide range, and the dimensional grid allows you to choose a model that fits the width of the window. However, this is not always the case: either the width or the color / pattern of the canvas does not fit, and we have to buy a product with dimensions larger than we need.

If you are faced with such a situation, then feel free to take a wider curtain. If necessary, it can be easily shortened to the desired size. I proceed like this:

  1. First, I determine the dimensions by measuring the light opening. I take the outer edges of the glazing beads as the extreme points - this way less light will penetrate along the sides.
  2. I disassemble the structure, removing the canvas from the axis and dismantling the brackets with the drive mechanisms.
  3. Using a hacksaw, I carefully shorten the shaft. You will need to leave either a fragment equal to the required width of the canvas, or a little more: it all depends on how exactly the brackets are attached to the axial tube.
  4. I saw off the lower plumb rail in accordance with the required width of the web.
  5. I spread the canvas on a flat surface, apply the markings and cut off the excess with a sharp knife or high-quality tailor's scissors.

  1. I fix the canvas on the axial cylinder, if necessary, leaving protrusions at the edges for the installation of the brackets. I use adhesive tape to fix it.
  2. I fix the plumb line cut to size from below.
  3. I install the brackets with the drive mechanism on the edges and check if they work correctly.

This simple instruction allows you to quickly and almost effortlessly adjust the roller blind to the width of the window opening. Of course, it's easier to immediately buy what you need - but this opportunity is not always provided.

Operation 2. Fixation on self-tapping screws

So, we have the curtain, it is adjusted to the size of the window - now let's figure out how such products are attached. It seems that no special difficulties are foreseen, but beginners miss some nuances.

We act like this:

  1. We take the assembled product and attach it to the frame or sash in such a way that the lower edge of the roll with the folded canvas is opposite the lower edge of the upper glazing bead.
  2. We carefully align the structure in width and vertical, using a tape measure and a level.
  3. Opposite the brackets on the window profile, we make marks.
  4. We remove the curtain from the window, after which we dismantle the brackets with the drive mechanism. This usually requires little effort — the fastener simply exits the inner groove of the axle bar.

  1. We individually apply the brackets to the marks and make marks opposite the mounting holes. We drill holes according to the marks so that a 4 mm thick drill will pass both through the plastic and through the reinforcing metal contour.

Before attaching the curtain to a window made of timber, you should stock up on wood screws (black, with a phosphated coating). They fit well into the wood and stay in it without pre-drilling.

  1. Using self-tapping screws, we install both corners. We attach a lifting mechanism equipped with a drive chain to one of them. We put limiters on the chain, allowing you to fix the minimum and maximum height of the edge of the blinder.

  1. On the brackets we install the axle with the wound curtain cloth. We check the operation of the mechanism by raising and lowering the curtain several times.
  2. If a box is included in the structure, we put it on over the installed system, carefully closing all moving parts. In this case, the holes in the box must be located so as not to interfere with the free movement of the chain and the web.

I draw your attention to the fact that this algorithm is just one of the possible stories about how to hang a roller blind on a plastic window. For example, some models, in addition to the described parts, also have side tensioners with fishing line fastening - they must be installed separately, making sure that they are located strictly vertically.

The presence of such elements does not greatly affect the functionality of the curtain, but on the other hand, the canvas is warped less often this way, since the suspension turns out to be well fixed at the bottom point.

Step 3. Using the spring bracket

Describing the process of installing structures, it is worth talking about how to install roll-type curtains without violating the integrity of the profile. This technique is in great demand, since not everyone wants to use curtains all the time.

If curtains are needed only in the summer, and in winter you do not plan to look at holes in the frame or sash, then you should use a special device:

  1. For hanging on the sash, we use a plastic or aluminum bracket. This device is a Z-shaped strip, on one side of which there is a hook, and on the other there are latches for the fastening part of the curtain.
  2. It is very important that the bracket is compatible with the purchased curtain model - then the fixing of the lifting mechanism will be as reliable as possible.
  3. During installation, we put two spring brackets on the overlap of the sash so that the latches are on the front side.
  4. We install the curtain holders on the latches, which we attach to the axial shaft with the wound web.

  1. Since the clamps-tensioners are not used here to secure the plumb line, it can be fixed in the lower position using two pairs of small magnets.

Conclusion

It is not difficult to understand how to attach roller blinds to plastic windows. Implementing this process in practice is already more difficult (trust experience), but ordinary skill is enough to achieve success.

And if, before starting work, you also watch the video in this article, and voice all the questions that have arisen in the comments or on the forum, then the result is almost guaranteed to you!

When the renovation has just been completed in the house, the question arises about the design of window openings. One of the most popular modern ways of decorating a window is roller blinds (roller blinds, fabric roller blinds). If you want to save a little on the services of specialists, it is quite possible to hang them yourself. Installation of roller blinds is possible with your own hands, even not the most skillful home craftsman. Their installation does not require complex tools or special skills. There are several options for attaching such curtains, depending on the size and shape of the window, as well as the wishes of the owners of the house for the design of window openings. The method of fastening must be determined at the time of ordering, since the dimensions of future roller blinds depend on it.

Depending on the type, size of the window, as well as the design solution of the interior of the room, the blinds are attached:

  • to the wall above the window;
  • to the ceiling;
  • to the window opening;
  • to the frame;
  • to the shutters.

The first mounting method is suitable for a small window without a sill. It will allow you to choose a long cornice that will visually expand the opening. Installing curtains over the window is also good for a small room, especially if you choose roller blinds of the same color with the walls. In this case, the space will visually increase.

For a wide and deep window opening, fastening to the frame is more suitable. Due to this, the window sill remains freely accessible, and the large curtain will not focus on itself.

Types of roller blinds designs

Distinguish between open and closed roller blinds. The latter are distinguished by the fact that the roll of fabric is located inside a special box, which performs protective and decorative functions. It is especially recommended to hang these curtains on wooden windows. For them, you can choose an option with a box made of a material that repeats the color and texture of the wood from which the window frames are made.

When installing closed blinds, vertical plastic guides are often additionally installed, which ensure reliable fixation of the canvas and complete artificial darkness in the closed position. Thanks to them, the roller blind hangs parallel to the glass, no matter how lowered it is. You can fix the guides with double-sided tape.

How to fix roller blinds

To properly hang the blinds with your own hands, you will need the following tools:

  • level;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver.

In addition, you need to prepare a pencil, self-tapping screws or dowels (if the roller blind will be attached to the wall), perhaps double-sided tape will come in handy.

Open type on self-tapping screws

Such an installation is the most reliable, but you need to remember that it will require drilling in a window profile or wall. If later you need to replace the blinds with ordinary ones, holes will remain.

Closed type on self-tapping screws

Do-it-yourself fastening of a closed-type roller blind has a number of features. In addition to the brackets, you will need to fix the box and guides. To do this, you need double-sided tape.

Installation instructions for closed roller blinds:

  1. Installation of curtains should be started by removing the packaging and checking the package contents.
  2. Thoroughly degrease the installation site of the roller shutter with white spirit, paying particular attention to the fastening points of the guides.
  3. Define right and left guides. Attach one of them to the glazing bead to make sure that the guide fits snugly against the line of connection of the lower glazing bead with the window frame, if the design solution for the window decoration does not provide for another option. If necessary, you can shorten the guides using the mock knife at the top to preserve the factory cut.
  4. With a pencil, mark the top points of the location of the guides.
  5. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive base of the protective box mounting pads and its side covers.
  6. Attach to the guide marks, align the box with them. Secure it lightly with an adhesive layer on the mounting pads. Unwind the fabric to a length corresponding to the height of the glass to make sure that the fabric falls freely parallel to the glazing beads.
  7. Use a pencil and a spirit level to mark and drill for the fasteners.
  8. Fasten one side of the box with a self-tapping screw and unwind the fabric again. If the canvas is lowered strictly parallel to the glazing beads, fix the box with two self-tapping screws on each side. Put on the side covers.

  9. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive layer on the guides and glue them according to the marks made.
  10. Perform the actions specified in paragraphs. 8, 9 and 10 instructions for installing open roller blinds.

With spring brackets

Fastening roller shutters to spring brackets is possible only for the design of opening sashes. Such an installation is good in that it preserves the integrity of the profile, since it does not require drilling.

Instructions for installing roller blinds with your own hands using spring brackets:

  1. Remove the packaging, check the package contents, assemble the curtain. Attach it to the sash and outline the location of the fasteners.
  2. Hang the spring brackets onto the sash at the marked points.
  3. Put the side covers on the brackets.
  4. Insert the shaft with the curtain into the mountings, unfold and roll the canvas several times to make sure that it is installed level and moves freely up and down.
  5. Install the down stop on the chain and the clips (magnets or Velcro) for the weight.

On double-sided tape

Such an installation is suitable for the design of small sashes, both deaf and opening. Thanks to him, the surface of the window profile is also not disturbed. Fastening is carried out using mounting elements with a sticky layer on the back.

Fastening roller blinds to tape is carried out in the same order as when installing roller shutters on a spring bracket. The only difference is that the reliability of the fastening will need to first degrease the surface in the places where the fasteners are glued. This installation method is not recommended for large roller blinds, as it does not provide sufficient fastening reliability.
