Bath bombs with lavender

Baths with these bombs are good for relaxing and calming the nervous system. Ideal to fall asleep well and quickly.

Composition:

• 1 cup plain baking soda
• 0.5 cups dry citric acid
• 0.5 cups quality cornstarch

• 3 tbsp Epsom salts (for reference, this salt is used to soften the skin and general relaxation. It contains useful mineral salts and is often called English)
• 1 tbsp water
• 15 drops of essential essential
• Several sprigs of dry lavender
• Bomb molds or suitable plastic molds that do not contain toxic substances. Food grade plastic is a good option.

To prepare bath bombs, you need to mix: soda, acid, salt, starch and dried lavender (pre-crushed). Water, almond and essential oils are also mixed separately. Only then can all these components be combined and mixed to a uniform consistency. If the mixture does not mix very well, you can spray a little water on it with an aerosol.

In this case, a very important condition is the need to ensure that there is not enough water, otherwise the future bomb will not freeze as it should and even begin to hiss ahead of time. Next, the resulting mass must be placed in a mold until it hardens completely (at least two hours). Then they can be removed from the containers and spread on a soft towel until completely dry.

We introduce essential oils (you can smell one, or you can experiment). The main thing in this matter is not to overdo it, because you then take a bath in these smells.

Add almond oil. We mix everything very well.

Using a spray bottle, spray the mixture with water until the mass is perfectly molded in your hands. But we also make sure that there is not too much water. We add it gradually, in several steps.

Fill the shapes with the resulting mixture, experimenting with colors and pressing the mass tightly.
Let it dry for an hour and remove it from the container, spreading it on a soft towel. In this form, the bombs should dry for about four hours.

Bath bombs are simple. DIY cosmetics

Bath Bomb Recipe - From Easy to Complex. Please your loved ones with a pleasant trifle.

Few women refuse to soak in the bathroom. The process is actually very pleasant, but, unfortunately, not always useful. For example, bubble baths often make bathing harmful to the skin. But the number of people who want to take a bubble bath does not decrease. We offer you a more gentle, but no less pleasant remedy - geyser bombs. Or rather, recipes for bath bombs. Do you know that this exclusive remedy can be easily prepared at home? Let's find out exactly how to do this, and at the same time get acquainted with some recipes for bombs.

Basic (basic) recipe

Whatever bomb you want to make, it will always be based on a basic recipe with some constant and some fickle ingredients. Any bomb includes:

• Citric acid (powder or granules);
• Drinking soda;
• Salt (sea or table salt);
• Dyes;
• Fillers.

The main and unchanged components are citric acid and baking (baking) soda. In any recipe, their ratio should be 1: 2. That is, two parts of baking soda, you take one part of citric acid. It is these ingredients that make the bombs sizzle and bubble like geysers. All other components are taken in any quantity. Salt makes up the bulk of the bomb, essential oils or perfumery fragrances are added for flavor, dyes, of course, for color, and fillers for decoration (to a greater extent). How to make such a bomb?

We measure the required number of components using a measuring cup, a tablespoon or an electronic scale. Pour soda and citric acid into an absolutely dry dish or blender bowl and grind it almost into powder. By the way, an ordinary coffee grinder or a traditional mortar and pestle is also suitable for this purpose. The finer these ingredients are, the more effective and longer the bomb will sizzle as it dissolves in the bath. Important! Be sure not to wet the mixture at this stage. Otherwise, the reaction will start much earlier than you make the bomb.

Grind all other ingredients in the same way, except for the filler and liquid colors. Now carefully combine both mixtures and mix them well. Important! If your hands have wounds or cracks, then you should use rubber gloves. Now add a few drops of essential oil or perfume and dyes to your convenience food and mix again.

The most crucial stage follows. You need to slightly moisten the resulting mixture, bringing it to the consistency of wet sand. Then you can form bombs from the mixture. Take a teaspoon and pour about a third of the water in it into a bowl and quickly stir the mixture. We collect a little mass in the palm and squeeze. If it, like wet sand, gathers into a lump and keeps its shape, we proceed to the formation of bombs. By the way, fillers can be put directly into the mixture, or you can place them on the bottom of the molds.

It is best, of course, to use special molds, which can be purchased at handicraft stores. Molds for making handmade soap are also suitable. However, ordinary ice cube trays, as well as children's sand cakes, and even small cupcake makers are also quite suitable. The bomb will regularly hiss and foam in the bathroom, regardless of its shape.

So, we take the mold, grease it with oil, fill it with a moistened mixture and tamp it. If we use special forms, then we fill both halves, attach them to each other, hold them pressed for ten seconds and fasten them. By the way, in this case, we do not fill the second half very tightly. We leave to dry for about six hours near the battery (in winter) or in the sun (in summer). The dried bombs are carefully removed from the mold and stored in an airtight container.

• To get multi-colored bombs, you need to prepare mixtures of different colors and put them in portions into molds.
• Use food coloring to make bombs - they are harmless to the skin.
• If you overdid it and overmoisten the mass for the bomb, then just dry it by the battery. Or add dry ingredients (in proportions).
• If you have few molds, and you want to make a lot of bombs, then just pack the mixture into a mold, tamp it, squeeze it tightly and take it out (we are talking about special round forms). And then leave the bomb to dry without a shape.
• If the mass does not want to mold in any way or crumbles after drying, then you have not moistened it enough.
• If you are afraid to make a mistake with the amount of water, then use a spray bottle.
• If you use solid oil for bombs, then first dissolve it in a water bath.
• Do not use peach or apricot kernel oil to make bombs. The mass to which it is added does not hold its shape well.
• Store bombs only in a dry place, or better yet, in an airtight container.

Greetings, dear friends!
Today we will talk about maintaining personal hygiene and how to make an everyday activity an especially enjoyable and interesting procedure. Most children enjoy bathing as it is relaxing and stress relieving. Sleep well after this procedure. You can also turn washing from a hygiene procedure into an exciting game. And baby bath bombs will help us with this.

Of course, every child receives the first ablution immediately after birth. And in the future, taking a bath becomes a regular daily ritual. Hot water, soap and a washcloth already perfectly cleanse the skin. So what are bombs and why are they needed in the bath? The fragrant balls received such a formidable name because of their shape and ability to "explode" - dissolve with a hiss and gurgles.

It is a welcome addition that makes bathing a fun and rewarding experience. Of course, children love to watch how, after dropping the ball into hot water, it begins to geyser, foam and hiss. If the effervescent contains dyes, the foam will turn into a delicate color, and essential oils and fragrances will give a delicious smell.

Bombs or geysers can be roughly divided into two groups.

By the effect on the central nervous system

• soothing;
• stimulating.

While soothing fizzes are recommended for excitable, anxious and emotionally unstable children who are prone to irritability. They will also help babies with sleep disorders. In contrast, stimulating, invigorating ones are good for slow, inactive children. Suitable for those who find it difficult to concentrate.

By production method

• industrial, which can be bought in the store;
• handmade - made by craftswomen, taking into account all your wishes;
• home - made by hand.

Let's talk about why bath bombs are useful or harmful. If you buy balls in a store, you may be faced with the fact that the composition will contain various chemical additives: surfactants, dyes, flavors, preservatives. Surfactants (surfactants) are added to make the geyser foam more intensively, dyes give the bath bomb a pleasant color, fragrances give a tasty smell, and preservatives help keep it for a long time.

If natural paints were used in the manufacture, for example, saffron, then such a tool will not bring any harm. But more often in the industry they use chemical compounds, and this is not too good for the delicate skin of the baby. However, artificial flavors and fragrances can cause allergic reactions. Therefore, carefully study the composition when choosing a bathing product.

A bathroom bomb is more useful if it was made at home, because you completely select its composition from natural and useful ingredients, taking into account the needs of your child. Undoubtedly, the process of making bombs with your own hands together with children will become not only entertaining, but also a developing pastime.

Composition

The main ingredients of any fizzy drink are regular baking soda and citric acid. Of course, any housewife has these components in the kitchen, since they are often used in cooking. Almost always cheap and affordable. The action of the geyser is based on the fact that a dry mixture of sodium bicarbonate and acid, when it enters the water, gives a reaction and begins to spin, boil and hiss. In this case, water softens. "Lemon" is a good natural antioxidant, and the properties of soda to relieve itching and inflammation have long been known. In addition to the main components, you can add:

• powdered milk or cream
• sea salt
• flower petals or ground dried flowers
• emollients and essential oils
• spice
• cosmetic clay
• vitamins

How to do it yourself

Of course, the manufacturing process is simple and accessible even to an older child. There is only one component that needs to be prepared without the presence of children, citric acid. To do this, grind its crystals into a homogeneous powder with a coffee grinder. Of course, it is better to do this with a mask or respirator, because the smallest particles can irritate the respiratory tract. So, everything is ready, you can start. There are three manufacturing methods: with the addition of water, with the addition of alcohol and using a spray bottle. The basic ratio of acid and soda is 1: 2, i.e. for 1 tablespoon of lemon you need to take 2 tbsp. sodium bicarbonate.

Basic Rules

• mixing utensils must be well wiped;
• it is better to work with gloves, because high humidity of the hands can cause a reaction of the main ingredients with each other;
• you can take any mold - a yogurt cup, silicone baking dish, a form from a children's sand set;
• mix thoroughly the dry parts first, then add the liquid parts, rubbing well;
• tamp the mixture very tightly;
• remove from the molds after at least 4 hours;
• do not store for a long time, it is better to use immediately, storage in a dry place well wrapped in film is allowed;

Attention!
The properties of bathroom bombs depend on the additional components included. Add essential oils and herbs based on your child's preference, desired effect and potential allergic reactions. If your baby has diathesis or bronchial asthma, it is better to refuse to use ethers altogether.

Recipes

As an illustration, we will give several recipes for children's bath bombs, many of which you can easily make from scrap materials.

Mint

Promotes relaxation and soothes due to menthol, which is part of mint. Undoubtedly, it gives peace and improves sleep. First, mix all the dry ingredients, add the base oil to them and grind the mixture well. If it remains crumbly, add a few drops of water, rubbing thoroughly and quickly to avoid a reaction. At the end, add a drop of peppermint essential oil. Then tamp tightly into the mold and let dry.

• 1 tablespoon sea salt
• 1 tbsp. l. citric acid;
• 2 tbsp. l. sodium bicarbonate;
• 1/3 teaspoon of base oil (olive, grape, castor);
• ground dry mint;
• a few drops of green food coloring;
• 2-3 drops of peppermint ether.

Chocolate

Good because it softens and nourishes the skin. The principle of its manufacture is the same as in the previous case.
Take citric acid and soda in a ratio of 1 to 2, add one tablespoon to them. powdered milk or cream and one tbsp. cocoa. After that, stir well, add the base oil and a few drops of vitamin E.

Invigorating

Certainly, it stimulates activity, gives a joyful mood. Add 1 tbsp to the main mixture. cornstarch, and then 1/3 tsp. base and a few drops of essential oils of orange and sweet mandarin. Saffron will give a bright orange pleasant color if you take it as a natural dye. Drop 2-3 drops if desired. cinnamon ether. The combination of cinnamon and citrus fruits gives a warm, sweet, bright aroma.

Soothing

Promotes relaxation and rest, and relieves anxiety and normalizes sleep.
Mix baking soda and lemon as in the first recipe, then add a tablespoon of sea salt, tsp. milk powder, half a tsp. castor oil, a few drops of lavender ether, 1-2 K. blue food or cosmetic dye.

Attention!
In order to make multi-colored geysers, you need to prepare a mixture of several colors and pour them into the mold in layers or in random order. Use crushed dried flowers, cocoa or coffee, rose petals, saffron in the composition if you want to get variegation. Do not add coloring components if your plans include a dye-free bomb. As a result, it will be dazzling white!

Secrets

It sometimes happens that during the cooking process, when water is added, the mixture immediately starts to sizzle. Then add the liquid drop by drop, trying to rub thoroughly. For this purpose, you can moisten the mixture from a spray bottle. However, you should not get carried away, otherwise the soda will react with acid. And unfortunately, all the work will be in vain. Be careful, because the humidity should be such that the gruel is easily compacted and does not crumble.

Be absolutely sure your little one will love helping you make the fizz. Moreover, swimming with them will become his favorite pastime. However, we must not forget that although sea salt, oils and soda are good for the skin, it is not recommended to use such products on a daily basis. Enough once every 2 weeks. A ball or figure should be thrown into hot water, only then will it work and fully reveal its properties. Keep in mind that you need to take such a bath at the end of washing. After all the hygiene procedures with soap are finished.

It's time to try to create such bombs yourself.

What are bath bombs and what they are for, I wrote before. Now I propose to make them ourselves.

I managed to make a bomb the first time. Despite the fact that on various forums devoted to making bombs, there are many beginners with bad experience. The main thing is not to get upset. If the bomb did not work out, fell apart or crawled when drying, you do not need to throw it away. Can be crushed and used as an effervescent bath mixture. Not so original, but just as effective.

Classic composition for 1 bomb:

* 4 tbsp soda,
* 2 tbsp. l. citric acid,
* 2 tbsp base oil (olive, sea buckthorn, castor, almond, etc.),
* 2 tbsp filler (milk powder, sea salt, zest, cornstarch, clay, herbs, etc.). Remember, the filler should be 2 tablespoons, no more, no less. For example, 1 tbsp. powdered milk 1 tbsp. sea salt, or 2 tbsp. salt, or 2 tbsp. milk powder, or in other combinations. Reduced one dry component, which means the amount of the second increased by the same amount. It is important.
* 7-8 drops of essential oils,
* molds. I have baby sandbox molds. You can use different cream caps (great for foot bath bombs) and so on.

Do not mix the mixture on several bombs at once, it hardens quickly.

A few words about the base oil. I do not recommend taking sunflower oil, it goes rancid quickly. Linseed oil will also quickly turn bitter, but if the bombs will not be stored for a long time, then you can use it. From sea buckthorn oil, the bathtub turns into a light orange color, but if you wash it immediately, then everything goes away without problems. The best is grape seed oil or olive oil. Almond is also often used. Castor oil is considered heavy, producing a very dense film on the surface. But if you take it not 2 tablespoons, but only 1 teaspoon, then the unpleasant oil film becomes quite bearable.

I even recommend 1 teaspoon of base oil instead of 2 tablespoons. So it is more pleasant for the person taking a bath and the effect of softening the skin is also obtained. In order to get a mass, like wet sand, you can sprinkle the mixture with alcohol or vodka from a spray bottle (no more than 4-5 zips!). Better to pshik once, stir the mixture and add more if necessary. Over time, you will determine your number of zips.

Now about the filler. I strongly advise against taking clay. In dry form, it has a rather beautiful color, but in water, and even with oil, it turns out just gray oily water. Brrr! Potato starch is also blacklisted. Cornstarch, like powdered milk, also makes the water cloudy, but they have more benefits, the skin becomes tender and soft. You can use ground oatmeal, sugar, and more. The scope for a flight of imagination is simply huge.

We start mixing the components. We take soda, citric acid (it would be better to grind it in a coffee grinder), oil, essential oils and filler - sea salt and tangerine peel. You need to be very careful with lemon, because it irritates the mucous membranes and can cause an allergic reaction, so make sure that there are no children or pets nearby and take care of an airway dressing.

I sift through a sieve so that there are no lumps.

Knead and knead well like dough.

Then I make 2-3 zips with vodka and mix again. You need to act quickly, because the mass quickly solidifies. The mass should turn out like wet sand. We determine the readiness of the mixture as follows - squeeze it in hand. It should form a tight lump that easily disintegrates when pressed with your finger. If it didn't work out, stir the mixture further and add zilch.

Check if the mass is ready.

The mass is ready.

We tamp the mass tightly into molds. To decorate, I poured unmilled sea salt on the bottom of the mold.

If there is a mixture left, fill in the appropriate form.

If the bomb is round and consists of 2 parts, then fill in 2 halves of the molds with a slide (fill the sides of the mold well). We press the halves firmly to each other. After 2-3 seconds, carefully open the halves (carefully, it may crumble!) And put the bomb to dry. The room in which the bomb is drying should not have high humidity, otherwise the bomb will be saturated and float (reaction will go).

If, despite all your efforts, the bomb floated, i.e. began to sizzle actively, quickly crumble it, add 1 tsp. dry component, knead again and fill the mold tightly. You can put it in the freezer for a couple of minutes. Sometimes it helps. But I hope this just doesn't happen.

The bomb is ready. You can leave the bomb in the mold for literally one minute. She jumped out of this form herself.

If you add various flowers to it as a decoration for a bomb, then it is recommended to soak them in oil before using them for better adhesion of the components - otherwise it will simply crumble when it dries.

To get colored bombs, the mixture must be divided into two parts. Add a dye to one of them - it can be both food and natural ingredients. For example, cinnamon. You need to be very careful and careful with it, because it irritates the skin, you can simply get a burn. The safest way is to use colored sea salt.

There is one more component that may be present in the bombs. This is magnesia - Epsom salt - magnesium sulfate. It is added to further boil the bomb - from 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. Although I can do fine without her. But, as they say, there is no limit to perfection.

Using different fillers and oils, bombs can be created that have different properties: relaxing, anti-cold, soothing, toning, etc.

Try it and you won't be able to stop! It is very exciting!

Connoisseurs of the SPA atmosphere at home often use bath bombs or a geyser. This cosmetic product has relaxing and tonic properties, and has a beneficial effect on the skin. A large assortment of ready-made products is presented on the shelves. However, it is possible to make it yourself using recipes detailing how to make a bath bomb at home.

3. Then gradually stir in 1/2 part of the base oil (olive, almond, etc.).
4. Then add the same amount of essential or aromatic oil. You should not mix them, you should choose one of them. Stir quickly if hissing occurs.
5. To make the bombs multi-colored, the mass must be divided into several parts, and a few drops of food or cosmetic dye must be added to each. In this case, the composition should be quickly mixed until it acquires a uniform shade. Particular care when stirring requires a powder dye, you need to add it a little and rub the mixture with your fingers to give the desired color.
6. To adhere the mass, spray a small amount of water with a spray bottle (2-3 times). It is recommended to start with a small amount, the composition should remain crumbly, but stick together when compressed. It is necessary to actively and continuously stir the mass so that it does not bubble. If the room is humid, use a little less water.
7. After that, the bombs need to be given an attractive look. To do this, you can use special molds or standard forms for cookies, ice or children. Fill them with the ready-made compound, then carefully remove it and leave for some time in a dry, warm room until it hardens.
8. To make a round bomb, you should take 2 halves of the sphere and fasten them after filling, pressing them firmly together. After drying, the bombs should be removed and can be used.
