Another free apartment planner with a simple interface and tutorials for beginners. You can learn right away by drawing a floor plan. Use the tooltips as you work. When installing windows and doors, a drop-down menu appears in which you need to enter your dimensions. An additional plus is the furniture catalog. Google Sketchup 2017

This program is more complicated, but more convenient to use. It is simple with intuitive functionality and is quite suitable for beginners. PRO100
The Russian version of PRO100 is not as simple as its name. In order to get started, you first need to download it.
OS requirements are standard:
- processor not lower than 1500MHz;
- RAM 1024 MB
On the hard disk, you will have to allocate at least 2 gigabytes for libraries. The functionality is simple and intuitive. The work of this program is somewhat similar to Photoshop. In order to popularize its products, Astron has created a 3D program for potential buyers of cabinet furniture. The program is paid for professionals. There are no obvious drawbacks.

To do this, there are a million and one interior design software. They can be conditionally divided into professional and amateur. We'll start by looking at amateur programs, and at the end I'll tell you about the features of professional programs.
Amateur are those that:
- easy to learn (i.e. amateur, although the designers themselves do not neglect them);
- distributed free of charge;
- most popular.
I will also give examples of the end result of using a particular program and talk about the advantages and disadvantages.
So let's go!
Features of using programs for interior design
Work in all interior design programs is based on general principles. What opportunities does the program provide? How to work with her? 
- Draw a plan of the apartment (specifying the parameters of the plan in numbers). It is much more convenient and faster than freehand drawing.
- Choose materials, their color and texture.
- Arrange interior items (appliances, furniture, lamps), changing their shape and size.
- Make a rendering (i.e. visualization of what is drawn in 3D volume) and look at the fruits of your creativity in the finished version.
- Calculate the approximate cost of materials (estimate). This feature is not available in all programs.
To understand what will be discussed below, familiarize yourself with some specific terms. Believe me, they will come in handy.
Interface- this is the appearance and menu of the program.
Library - it is a base of interior elements (furniture, lamps, etc.) that you can add to the interior while modeling your apartment.

Rendering Is a function that renders what is drawn in a 3D volume (usually with shadows, close to realism).
Interior design software: an overview of the best

Pros.
In my opinion, this is the best software available for free and easy to learn. Moreover, some professionals also use it. Of the pros:

- To work, you need a network connection (Internet) and, if you have it slow, then everything will freeze at best, and at worst - your project simply will not be saved. Need to try:-)
- The first 3 layouts are free. Subsequent - 10 rubles. The first 3 renders are free, the next - 10 rubles. In general, everything together will not cost more than 150-400 rubles, and this is all a plus.
Sweet Home 3D. 
Pros: many parameters and settings.
Minuses: you need to spend time studying the not so convenient and cluttered menu.
PRO100. 
It is a furniture design program, but you can also do interior modeling with it.
Pros.
- Convenient interface that allows you to master the program in 1-2 days and create your own interior in 2 hours.
- The ability to create your own furniture libraries (a definite plus for more professional use)
- Simple computer requirements: Pentium 1500MHz processor or higher
512MB RAM
Minuses.
- The main disadvantage is the poor realism of the picture.
- The program is paid, but it is quite possible to download a torrent or install a licensed demo version.
SketchUp
This is a program from Google. It is also used by amateurs and designers. Although designers use other programs for photorealistic images.
Pros.
- Intuitive interface
- Built-in integration with other google services to calculate room lighting based on your location.
- The possibilities of the program are wide: it is possible to design not only interior design, but also landscape design
Minuses.
- I would not call this program very convenient, since it has no help. But on YouTube you can find many video tutorials on this topic.
- If you master it at the proper level, then it is not fast.
- No "chips" like in Sweet Home
- It takes a bunch of plugins to get the job done.
Other amateur interior design software
There are also very simple online programs. They are completely for a beginner: Autodesk HomeStyler (interface in English) and its counterpart Planner 5D. There is also IKEA Home Planner (as you understand, the library of this program includes only IKEA furniture). Try them if you are too lazy to understand the programs :-) 
Professional programs for interior design
Here the choice is not so great. I will tell you which ones I personally used, and which ones I still use. So let's go:
AutoCAD
This is a program for drawing, development of technical documentation. Manufacturer: Autodesk. The interface is very light and convenient. Rumor has it that you can do 3D in it, but the quality is not the best, and the work is very, very time consuming. That is, the ratio of the effort expended and the result will clearly not satisfy a professional designer.
I myself worked with this program, but especially for the development of documentation (drawings) for builders. I can say that for some reason I liked Archikad more :)
ArchiCAD
ArchiCAD is also a professional design program, but from another manufacturer (Graphisoft). The advantages of this program are that, for example, when drawing walls in 2D, you can easily press a button and see the same walls in 3D. One click! This is very convenient, especially if you do not have a spatial imagination (well, or you do, but you want to make sure that your and denia). Time spent drawing walls, windows, etc. more than in AutoCAD, but the result is worth it: a 3D picture in one click, wall sweeps in 2 clicks (while in AutoCAD you need to draw all this yourself). Well, there are many other useful things that will come in handy in interior design.
Now I work (create drawings) in this program, and the result is more than satisfactory to me. It takes much more time to master this program than to AutoCAD, especially if you want to make more or less realistic visualizations, and not just see the geometry of an object in 3D.
3dsMax
Probably everyone has heard about this program, because exactly how designers call it in the first place. Apparently, this is due to the fact that not some boring drawings are made in it, but photorealistic pictures that customers like so much. The manufacturer is the same as that of AutoCAD - Autodesk.
Unlike Archikad, images created in Max can reach such a degree of realism that not even every professional can distinguish this picture from a photo. That is, the possibilities are so high that it is already possible not to compare with the Archikad. However, the drawings are not made in it, only the visualization of the interior.
It takes a lot of time to master this program. Personally, I find it the hardest to learn, but the result is worth it :)
Other professional interior design software
In general, a designer needs one drawing program and one rendering program. I have already listed the most-most. But there is still a very needed program, and one replacement program:
- Photoshop- is necessary for the designer to create collages. It can be replaced by other programs, but read about them in the article "".
- SketchUp- I already wrote about it above. I will only add that there are designers who use this particular program. In addition, it is free and now there are many add-ons to it on the Internet (for example, furniture libraries are growing rapidly).
Outcomes
Summing up, the best program for interior design for a beginner (that is, for those who make repairs for themselves and do not want to bother too much), I would call the very first option - Planoplan.
And for those who are mastering the profession of a designer - Archikad. In the first couples, he will help and make drawings and good visualization.

User Generated Content

Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Planner 5D and each of its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, agents, contractors, partners and employees, harmless from and against any loss, liability, claim, demand, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney "s fees and costs, arising from or in connection with (i) your use of and access to the Services with violations of any of these Terms; (ii) your infringement of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property or privacy right; (iii) any UGC you communicate through the Service.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
The applicable law of the Agreement and the relations arising out of the Agreement between the Parties, including the issues of conclusion, validity, invalidity and termination of the Agreement, is the law of the Republic of Lithuania without regard to principles of conflict of laws.
In an effort to accelerate resolution and reduce the cost of any dispute, controversy or claim related to, or arising out of, these Terms or any policy, document or agreement incorporated herein (hereinafter, the “Dispute”), you and Planner 5D agree to first attempt to negotiate any dispute, controversy, or claim, whether based on contract, tort, fraudulent misrepresentation, statute, regulation, constitution, common law, equity, or any other legal basis, that arises out of or relates to the Dispute informally for at least thirty (30) calendar days before initiating any arbitration, online dispute resolution or court proceeding.
Negotiations will begin upon receipt of written notice sent by the party bringing the dispute. Planner 5D will send its notice to your billing address (if any) and / or forward a copy to the email address you have provided to us. You may send your notice to Planner 5D at “Planner 5D” UAB, Antakalnio st. 17, LT-10312 Vilnius, Lithuania, Attn: Legal Department and / or by email to:.
If a Dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations, you agree that any and all Disputes arising out of or in any way related to the Services shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the appropriate court situated in Vilnius, Lithuania. Each of the parties hereto waives any objection to jurisdiction and venue in such court. However, Planner 5D reserves the right to seek injunction relief in any jurisdiction when it deems it necessary.
You and Planner 5D agree that if any portion of this “Governing Law and Dispute Resolution” is found illegal or unenforceable, such portions shall be severed and the remainder of this Section “Governing Law and Dispute Resolution” shall be given full force and effect. Any Dispute subject to any such portion of this Section “Governing Law and Dispute Resolution” shall be decided by the court.
Modification
Planner 5D reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement at any time in our sole discretion and without liability to users by posting changes at site. A continued use by you of any part of the Services following the posting of such changes or modifications will constitute the acceptance of such changes or modifications. Your use of modified Services is subject to those modified terms and conditions, which are incorporated into this Agreement by this reference. Your prior written approval of changes and modifications of the terms and conditions should be received if changes are related to the processing of your personal data. Therefore, you should frequently review these Terms or guidelines on the Planner5D project in order to understand the terms and conditions applicable to your use of the Services. If you do not agree to any changes or modifications to these Terms, your sole recourse is to stop using the Services.
Effectiveness and Termination
This Agreement becomes effective from the moment you start using our Services and runs for an indefinite term until terminated by you or by us in accordance with these Terms.
You may terminate this Agreement without cause at any time in out-of-court procedure by giving 14-days prior notice (this requires written or electronic mail communication).
You may also terminate this Agreement with us with immediate effect by ceasing using the Services and deleting Planner 5D application / account from your device.
Should you terminate the Agreement, Planner 5D shall be entitled to charge the payments (if any) accrued prior to termination of the Agreement from you. You acknowledge and agree that by terminating your relationship with Planner 5D in the way stipulated in this section you will lose all access to your Planner 5D projects / account and it will no longer be available to you. We will not be responsible and will not have any obligation to restore and / or reinstate your Planner5D projects / account or any data lost.
Planner 5D reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue offering the Services (or any part thereof) at any time and Planner 5D will not be liable to user or any third party should it exercises such rights. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services at any time, your sole and exclusive remedy is to cease using our Services.
Without limiting other remedies, Planner5D may immediately suspend or terminate this Agreement with you, or may terminate or suspend your use of the Services at any time in out-of-court procedure without giving a notice if:
1) Planner 5D has strong grounds to believe that:
◦ you are in default of these Terms or any part thereof;
◦ you are engaged in illegal actions, or infringe proprietary rights, rights of privacy, or intellectual property rights of any person, or any third-party rights, or otherwise create risk or possible legal exposure for us;
2) it is required by applicable laws / regulations and within the time limits as required by such laws / regulations;
Upon termination of this Agreement all licenses and rights to use the Services shall immediately terminate and you will immediately cease any and all use of the Services. Any suspension or termination of this Agreement will not affect your obligations to Planner 5D under these Terms (including, without limitation, proprietary rights and ownership, indemnification and limitation of liability, confidentiality), which reasonably are intended to survive such suspension or termination.
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Planner 5D with respect to your use of the Services, superseding any prior agreements between you and Planner 5D with respect to the Services.
Waiver and Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. Planner 5D’s failure to exercise, or delay in exercising, a legal right or remedy provided by these Terms, or by applicable law, shall not constitute a waiver of Planner 5D’s right or remedy.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms, or any rights or obligations contained herein. Planner 5D may, without prior notice, assign these Terms or any rights or obligations contained herein to any third party.
Survival
The terms and conditions contained in these Terms that by their sense and context are intended to survive the performance hereof by the Parties hereunder, including but not limited to the provisions relating to Indemnity, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability and Dispute Resolution, shall so survive the completion of the performance, cancellation or termination of these Terms.
YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS AND UNDERSTAND ALL RIGHTS, OBLIGATIONS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH HEREIN. BY CONTINUING TO USE THE SERVICES YOU EXPRESSLY CONSENT TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND YOU GRANT TO PLANNER 5D THE RIGHTS SET FORTH HEREIN.

The era of drawing an interior sketch on a Whatman paper is over. And it was replaced by computer programs. The benefits are obvious to both the certified designers themselves and to their clients.
The former can “draw” and change the interior without traces of a pencil wiped out with an eraser, while the latter helps to imagine how the interior will look like.
Designers who received this specialty in universities (we hope it was useful) need the help of computer programs. But how to figure out what programs are needed for an interior designer?
There are many of them. Some are paid, others are shareware, in others, you can work without paying the developer. There are those that show the project on a plane, and many programs are able to present a sketch in 3D, remaining on the printout.
Consider the best programs for interior designers. Do you have a favorite program? Which? And is it easy for you to work in it?
3. IKEA Home Planner
A program from a well-known company that offers everything for the home. To get even closer to customers, IKEA has created it.
Even beginners can handle the program. There is a room, there is furniture, decor items (though from IKEA). So gradually, step by step, you can plan any room in the house: kitchen, living quarters, hallway, bathroom, regardless of their size.
The program is free.
Advantages: you can not only arrange everything as "live", but also calculate the approximate cost of the furnishings.
disadvantages: no freedom of choice. Everything that stands in a potential room can only be selected from the company's products.
4. Interior design 3D
A program for apartment design and renovation planning with a wide range of functions. In the catalog of objects there are more than 50 pieces of furniture, over 120 options for wall and floor finishes, a choice of colors, apartment layouts.
Intuitive interface in Russian. You can install and remove partitions, move furniture.
After reviewing the demo version, you will need to buy the licensed version if you like the program.
Advantages: you can choose the size of furniture, room. Expand, rotate the resulting sketch, print. Easy to use. Standard layouts are available. There is an option "virtual visit", when you can "walk" around the apartment or house. One of the few free programs for interior design in Russian, albeit conditionally.
disadvantages: Only elements that have already been programmed can be used. And, as often happens, you want more, better and, of course, free.
5. ArchiCAD
The program is suitable for professional designers and architects, as it has a whole range of all kinds of options - from a floor plan to construction documentation and specifications.
Shareware... The trial period is one month. Then you need to purchase a license to operate all the functionality. The software is currently owned by Grasshopper.
Advantages: all parts of the project are not isolated, but interconnected. If you make changes to one of them, it will immediately be displayed in the general plan, in section, in the views where this part is involved.
disadvantages: no multi-move. That is, the created project cannot be created in several variants at once. Complex geometry is also "too tough" for the program. You can use the help of other software - is it necessary?

6. Google Sketchup
The program is intended for aspiring interior designers. There are two versions - paid (Google Sketchup Pro) and free. The first has more options, wider functionality.
But even in the free version, you can create a high-quality interior design in 3D format, changing the layout, color, arranging furniture, varying the size.
There is a free and paid version of the program... Designers, those who use it, how do you like the free version?
Advantages: You can add markings and dimensions to already made objects. In the program, you can design not only a living space, but also a car, furniture, landscape design, an airplane, a street - everything that exists in space in three dimensions. The created project can be sent to the Internet.
disadvantages: there are few objects in the free version. However, they can be downloaded from the world wide web. Simple lines and shapes are available, but flat shapes easily turn into three-dimensional ones.
7. FloorPlan 3D
Professional interior design software - suitable for planning any interior with the ability to virtually move through rooms, offices. Possibility to rotate for a better view of the project. You can choose finishing materials for walls, floors, stairs, ceilings, doors, windows.
The new version adds interesting options: broken lines, terraces, gates, attics, paths, fences, fences, balconies, etc. You can do landscape design.
The program is shareware. A little time is given for acquaintance, then it is offered to buy a license key.
Advantages: incredible realism of the sketch, ease of use, wide possibilities. Don't have time to develop a plan? The library has ready-made layouts and typical interiors. They can be taken as a basis and brought to a presentable look.
disadvantages: takes up a lot of space in the computer, the latter must have good RAM. A program for beginners. Professionals are unlikely to learn new things for themselves.
8. Astron Design
The program for planning from Astron allows you to set the parameters of rooms, choose the color of decoration for walls, ceilings, floors, select and place furniture, decor items, indicate the location of windows and doors.
However, Astron Design can hardly be called a full-fledged interior design program. It is more of a planner for arranging furniture in a room with specified parameters.
The program is free.
Advantages: ample opportunities, realistic picture. Updated catalog of items and furniture in a new version.
disadvantages: poor colors. The project is shown in 2D format, that is, flat, like a regular drawing.

9. PRO100
Software from Russian developers. In it, you can not only create design projects for a house or apartment, but also design an interior and furniture. The service is easy to understand and can be used by both beginners.

The Home Plan Pro program for interior design allows you to quickly create a plan of a house, office or apartment, operating with modifications of doors, windows, furniture, decorative objects. I am glad that there are a lot of these objects, so you can create an attractive interior design.
The program is simple, and just this simplicity makes it unattractive for professional designers.
The program is shareware. You have to pay for the license.
Advantages: the finished project can be sent by e-mail or fax directly from the program, printed.
disadvantages: English interface. According to professionals, it is not worth its money - it is too simple.
11. Apartama
This is not a program, but an online service for creating interior design in 3D modeling. It also contains ready-made projects so that you can get an idea, and a decent amount of all kinds of objects, finishing materials.
You can create a project specification, print it, send it to an email address. After finishing work on the design, you can take a virtual walk around the object.
Advantages: furniture, finishing materials, decor items are taken from online stores, so they are always relevant and the choice is constantly expanding. Here, you can immediately calculate the cost of redevelopment with the furnishings, and change something if necessary.
disadvantages: This is an online service and requires an Internet connection. Therefore, sitting in the country, in the forest and engaging in creativity without a network will not work.
12. Planoplan
Another online service for interior design. The catalog contains real furniture, not created by programmers. You can create a drawing of an apartment as a background and drag and drop images onto it. The layout can be your own or typical.
In objects, you can change the texture, color, add dullness or gloss, change the scale, some spatial parameters. There is a PRO account, the possibilities of which are wider.

Advantages: The program is full of real objects, and the picture quality is pleasing. And its demo version can be downloaded for free.

13.KitchenDraw
This is a narrow-profile service. However, the user-friendliness deserves to be mentioned. From the name it is clear that only kitchen design is possible. But her options are not limited to this.
In the program, you can make a 3D kitchen, as well as prepare estimates, reports, calculate the cost including VAT, discounts, currency fluctuations.
14. AutoCad
This program is for those who like to draw in the old fashioned way - on a Whatman paper, using a ruler, pencil and compasses. This is now possible in AutoCad.
Create vector plans, images using simple lines: arcs, straight lines, curves, hatching, etc.
15. 3D Max
This is a program for professional designers. The picture is clear and realistic. Therefore, the customer will be able to see how his home will look in the end. The designer is given complete freedom of action.
But it should be borne in mind that the sketch takes a long time, so you need to be patient. If the result is worth the wait, you can be patient, don't you agree?
Advice to designers: It would be nice to accompany the picture with drawings, an estimate or just a description of the sketch on paper. This will be useful for both the customer and the one who will supervise the repair.
