Decorate the heating battery with paintings. How to make the decor of the heating battery with their own hands using decorative panels

Starting repairs in his apartment or in the house, at a certain stage there is a question of how to hide the batteries. In fact, it can be done with your own hands, and not spend extra funds for builders.

What needs to be taken into account when disguised the battery

Before proceeding with the disguise, you need to know several important nuances:

  • First of all, it is necessary to understand that with any method there will be a loss of heat.
  • Convection flows of air should not be protected by anything, it will only be possible to save the uniform heating of the room, and the windows will not fiery.
  • For various emergency, it is worth considering the free access to the threaded connections and the radiator in advance - it can be a window or a removable design, for example, a door with hinges.
  • For repair in good accessibility, a crane, a thermal head and other elements of the heating system should remain.

Best ways to beautifully hide radiators

There are several ways to hide the batteries, in this section consider the most popular and efficient.

It is today the most practical and demanded method, most often such a design is created from the metal and has its advantages:

  • simple installation;
  • thermal exchange remains the same;
  • can be made with rounded corners, which reduces the risks of injury.

Screens from glass

The screen made of glass will become an interesting and stylish solution, especially for those who choose minimalism or a modern style in the interior design. Photo printing or various patterns can be applied to the glass, but this method is not a budget option. Installation is made on the screw holder, but the walls will have to drill holes. However, the heating radiator will be stylishly protected. This option will fit into any interior.

Screens-boxes

Box screens are a great option for decorating radiators.

  • Assist to fully hide the battery.
  • The box can be the subject of the interior.
  • Erena is easy to mount, just care for them.
  • Protect from getting burns or other injuries.

Do not forget about the most popular way to hide the batteries - just drove them by opaque or translucent curtains. By using this method over time, you will even forget that the curtains are pipes and radiator. The main thing is to choose the curtains that will harmoniously look and show all their views that there is something for them.

Painting in the color of the walls

How to hide the heating battery on the wall, if other designs are "prohibited." One way, paint it with the same color as the wall.

Frame from a tree

The tree will create comfort and heat in the apartment, and the masking of the battery will be elegant and beautiful. This option is for those who draw their own home in Eco-style using natural materials. Such ways to hide the batteries can be used as a stand for home decor.

Built in furniture

Another common way than to close the heating battery is considered to be furnished, custom-made, or built-in furniture (shelves, cabinets, folding tables, seating sites).

Hide the radiator with furniture

Arrange the furniture, for example, a chair or a written table, so that it closes the battery. The cast-iron battery is not attractive for many, but furniture items can hide it.

Replace the designer model

For those who do not want to invent anything, unique design ways have been developed to hide batteries that have already originally possess beautiful appearance and simply do not want to hide them.

Original ideas

There are many creative ideas that can turn the batteries into a decorative element:

  • Forged products

  • Painting and Decoupage Batteries

In the photo using a beautiful painting the battery merged with the wall.

Hide with drywall

Separately, I would like to talk about how you can hide the batteries using drywall. Immediately it is worth noting that the material has its own minuses, however, the drywall design still becomes very popular when repairing.

  • The material is environmentally friendly, while it is not susceptible to burning.
  • On the market you can find several varieties of this material.
  • This disguise option is budget, and the installation can be carried out in different ways, as it is convenient for you.
  • Also, the plasterboard will allow the owner of the apartment to invent any design, which will help not only close the pipes and the battery, but also make additional decor elements.

The minus is that the plasterboard is afraid of external influence, with non-accurate actions, it is easy enough to break through or pierce. And if there is a breakdown or leakage, it will have to change the entire finish again, but this material is cheap.

Installation of plasterboard box with your own hands

In order to close the battery, it is necessary to measure it, and after buy metal profiles and other additional products.

  • What materials are needed: Plasterboard sheet 12 millimeters, metal profiles 27x28 and 60x27, tapping screws on plasterboard and metal, dowel-nails size 6x40, construction serpentine, perforated corners.
  • Tools: screwdriver, perforator, metal scissors, stationery knife, construction stapler, pencil, roulette, construction level.

ATTENTION, for the construction of a plasterboard box, there is an important requirement: it is necessary that the windowsill comes out for the radiator not less than 3 centimeters.

Order of work:

Disguise pipes heating

It does not matter, the apartment is either a house, a bedroom or kitchen, everywhere I would like to have a good repair. Immediately questions arise: how beautiful to hide the heating pipes and how can it be done with minimal cost and maximum efficiency? In this case, the disguise method should be really invisible and imperceptible, fit into the room.

The pipe can be hidden inside the wall, and you can also close it in the floor. Remember that the old heating system should not be hidden in this way, this option is possible after fully updating all the elements.

Box on the carcass

It is best to perform it from wood, plastic or drywall. Do not place the heating pipes close, between the box and the pipe must be at least three centimeters.

Hide behind the decor

The decoration of the pipes in various options, for example, wrap the jute rope. But remember that the heat transfer decreases thus. Many owners decorate pipes with flowers, it can be done using a bamboo with leaves. Here only fantasy should work, even the old tube can look completely different.

Staining under the color of the walls

The easiest and most practical method is to paint the batteries or risers in the color of the walls, while the heat release will not decrease.

In the photo in the interior of the kitchen tubes painted in the color of blue walls.

Hide under outdoor plinth

A good invention was the floor plinth, in which, without difficulty, you can hide the batteries located horizontally and low to the floor.

Kitchen

The kitchen is an ideal room in which all ways to hide the batteries will be practical and comfortable. If the room is small, then you can hide the battery using a beautiful countertop or make a folding table, which, at a convenient case, will be folded.

Plants of metal-plastic designs offer a large selection of beautiful windowsides of large sizes that mimic stone, wood and other materials. The modern window sill is not broken under the weight, is not afraid of external factors, it is easy for it, wipe, he is not afraid of scratches and so on. You can hide any type of battery, including cast iron.

Living room

If the radiator is in a niche, then the wide window sill will help create a working area.

On the designed wooden box, you can put souvenirs, vases or flowers in pots. Also close unsightly batteries in the living room can be dense curtains.

Bedroom and children

In the interior of the bedroom and children's, battery you can use as another place to relax, the worktop for the decorative elements or the workplace.

Bathroom

You can hide pipes in the bathroom using a lolan door, plastic lattices or a locker with opening doors.

Parishion

For radiators in the hallway, glass screens or wooden box are suitable. In a small room, it is necessary to close the battery only in terms of practicality. This may be a locker for storing shoes, or the battery will become a small coffee table, where the keys and other necessary elements will be folded.

The battery decor is an interesting option for those whose radiators or batteries have an unprepacent appearance or simply do not combine with the interior, too highlighting and porting a general view.

Beautiful batteries in the house attract attention and make the interior more colorful.

Many at home have old Soviet batteries, and replace them with new, it is simply no possibility, for this we recommend that you reagree them in various ways.

Battery decor

To make batteries and radiators less noticeable, you can buy paint, which will be combined with the color of the walls.

So, if your walls are painted in one color or are placed in monophonic wallpaper, you can easily pick up the appropriate color by visiting a specialized store of paints.

Today there is a great diversity of shades, among which everyone can choose the appropriate option.

It is worth remembering that radiators need to paint specially intended, besides, it will look more even and neat on their surface.

If the walls in your room are not monophonic, the color of the paint is selected, pushing out the prevailing colors in the wallpaper patterns.

If the surface of the heating device is not too presentable, uneven or buggy, the additional decor of the battery pipes will help distract attention from flaws.

If you are beautifully drawn, you can draw a pre-painted battery with different patterns and colors.

The excellent idea of \u200b\u200bthe battery decor is a purchase or self-sewing case.

Of course, it will be difficult to find on sale, but it is very easy to do it yourself.

It is enough to choose the color of the appropriate material, calculate the size of the battery and make the workpiece. In order for the battery of heated in the same mode, as before, and the case did not interfere with the spread of heat, it is possible to make it the front part of it.

To do this, either buy a thin tissue in the form of a large grid, or scratch yourself framing in the form of squares bonded with each other.

This option of the battery decor may be more time-consuming, but you will have the opportunity to arrange with bows, artificial colors, beads and other elements.

In the children's room will ideally watch the covers in the form of animals.

Decoupage Battery.

For the decoupling of the battery in the decoupage technique, materials are needed as:

  • drawing for a battery decor in a decoupage technique;
  • acrylic paints;
  • pVA glue;
  • white enamel;
  • brushes;
  • sandpaper;
  • heat-resistant varnish.

In order to make a decoupage of the battery you need to prepare it. To prepare, it is necessary to clean the battery, walk by sandpaper and remove excess old paint and create a flat smooth surface.

After squeaking, wash the heating radiator and wait for complete drying. Only then proceed to painting.

For painting the battery it is better to use white enamel, but not nitro.

Through the knocks, when the battery is driving, take the drawing or napkin for the technique of decoupage of the battery and measure the width of the outer surface.

It all depends on the drawing you chose. We glue your drawing in the center of the battery rib.

To glue the drawing Take PVA glue and dilute with water in proportions 1: 1, in such a state it will be better to go on paper.

By gluing, thus, the entire picture you need to add a part of the battery with acrylic paints without a napkin. If you draw well, you can add decoupage of the battery with brushes.

When the decoupage on the battery dries off, cover it with heat-resistant varnish.

You can also make a battery decor with other pictures. Usually use various flowers and patterns.

DECOR PUP

Pipes, like batteries, can be original. There are several options for the decor of the pipes with their own hands:

  • wrapping pipes with thick threads or ropes;
  • tie for pipes cover to be applied to the pipe;
  • paint the pipe into original colors, for example, in multicolored stripes.

The last option that involves painting may require the presence of different colors of paint, but it is perfect for a children's room.

How to make a decor pipe with a hook and thread

It is enough to simply link some long knitted strip, the width of which will correspond to the size of the trough of the pipe. The strip may not be ring, but does not necessarily make a cover from it.

For the decor of the pipe, only loops placed in a certain sequence will be needed, but you can do them in the process of knitting according to the selected scheme.

In these loops, a rope will be done, similar to a lace, which is either below, or at the top, or in several places will be tied to a beautiful bow.

Pipe decor rope

Another version of the decorative design of non-patious pipes is the use of a beautiful structural rope.

It needs simply tightly wind pipes with a vertical location of the bands. To secure the rope in the process of refueling it, it is necessary to use glue.

Decoupage pipe

Decor pipes can with decoupage technique. To do this, you will need a special film for decoupage, which is sold in the needlework store, or ordinary napkins with a suitable pattern.

As a rule, the decoupage of Shebbi Shik provides for the use of light, warm and gentle colors. To decorate the pipe, you need to perform such a sequence of actions:

  • pre-clean the surface for the decor of the pipe;
  • apply glue to the pipe;
  • cover the surface with a napkin;
  • out with glue again so that the whole napkin is soaked through for a more successful clutch;
  • covered with varnish.

The drawing on the napkin can be cut if the pattern specifically suits you is depicted. As a background, you can use another napkin with unreasary colors, which in no case should be cut.

The perfect solution for the decoupling decor in the technique of decoupage is to tear, so the boundaries of the background will be smooth.

Pipe decor can be the most different. For example, you can paint the pipe in the form of a birch tree trunk, and to the walls to attach the sheets cut out of paper, which will create an original tree image or replace sheets to artificial.

Decorative grille for radiator

The grille for the radiator is an excellent decoration and disguise method. The easiest option of creating such a lattice is a design of bamboo rods. The rods must be thick, while they will easily cut, configuring the size of the grille under the size of the radiator.

Ponds can be fixed with wire or glue, but glue, of course, will be less noticeable.

The radiator can be masked under the fireplace, making a wooden grid for it, decorated with different patterns. Such a fireplace fits perfectly in almost any type of interior, if you put it to the wall.

Like the decor of the door, the decor of pipes, batteries and radiators may require painstaking works, manifestations of fantasy and a lot of time, but with the help of the decor you can hide what spoils the appearance of the design of your dwelling.

Heating batteries are far from can always serve as an interior decoration. Therefore, they have to hide them, decorate with all possible ways. Let's try to figure out how to do it beautiful and right.

Features and requirements

Decorating heating radiators is not such a simple task as it may seem at first glance. It is necessary not only to hide the unsightly radiator, but also to maintain a comfortable room temperature. It is obvious that closed batteries give several heat, and access to them becomes difficult.

To properly close the batteries and do not reduce heat exchange (or at least to reduce slightly), it is necessary to understand how radiators heat the room, which principle they work. And choose the decor so that it is minimal interference when performing batteries of its functions.

For this, removable or submissive screens do not have solid fasteners.It is necessary that access to the radiator can be provided at any time. Such a need may occur unexpectedly, and if the battery is mounted in a wall, a plasterboard box or closed by the screen, "tightly" attached to the wall, the design will have to break. Disassemble it without prejudice will not work.

Another important criterion when choosing a decor is how much it will affect the heat transfer. The heating of the room occurs due to the release of infrared radiation (it heats the items) and convection (heats the air directly).

Solid screens, devoid of gaps from below and on top, will become a serious obstacle for the first, and for the second. The optimal option will be perforated, carved or lamella screens that do not cover the battery nor below. Or closing slightly.

In order for the air to straighten evenly, it should be able to freely go from the bottom of the battery, passing through it and go on top is warm. The radiator does not give a tightly "baked" the radiator, therefore the temperature is reduced. As for IR radiation - it simply cannot pass through a solid, impermeable screen, which provides practically one hundred percent thermal insulation of the battery.

Recently, you can see that the batteries are often closed with glass screens with photo printing.Of course, such a solution has high decorative properties, however, the temperature in the room equipped with such a decor is significantly addressed.

The optimal solution for any interior will be a wooden perforated or carved screen. The main thing is that it is as small as possible solid surface as possible and as many holes as possible, allowing air to circulate freely. In addition to the fact that the tree harmoniously fits in almost any style of the interior, it is necessary to highlight its property as environmental friendliness. When heated, it will not distinguish any harmful substances. Even on the contrary - under the influence of heat, wood is distinguished by essential oils, which have a positive effect on human health (of course, we are talking about natural trees).

Economical methods

To hide old heating batteries, it is not necessary to use expensive materials and structures. There are a lot of budget ways to close unsightly radiators, while retaining high heat exchange rates and easy access to the system.

To such ways can be attributed to:

  1. Staining.Even old, Soviet battery samples can be turned into a stylish interior element, painting them into tone walls or, on the contradiction, the contrast color. The costs are minimal, and the benefits are obvious: the possibility of rapid access to the radiator is preserved, the convection is not difficult to be disappeared, a comfortable temperature is saved in the room. Such radiators will fit into any interior, from the modern loft to the classics, the main thing is to choose the right color.
  2. Textile. The simplest thing is to close the batteries with curtains, which descend to the floor. The main thing is to ensure that the fabric is not possible from too hot batteries. Or - if the option with the curtains is not quite acceptable - you can pull onto a wooden frame fabric that harmonizes color with all other textiles in the room, and this screen is closed with radiators. Through the fabric air easily passes, it does not represent any obstacle, which means that the heat transfer will not decrease.
  3. Inexpensive, the use of materials such as plastic, MDF panels, plasterboard will be held. However, they have a significant disadvantage - a decrease in the heat in the room. And from the point of view of environmental friendliness, these materials leave much to be desired. The same plastic, for example, is better to use in the bathroom to close the crane, in the kitchen, that is, in rooms with high humidity, where the same tree, the same metal will quickly come into disrepair due to external factors. Boxes of MDF panels or drywall possess good thermal insulation properties that in this case it is absolutely no need. Yes, and getting to the system will be difficult.

Of course, low cost is a significant advantage of the material, and for many it is decisive. However, one should not forget that its main function is to provide not only the aesthetic attractiveness of the heating system, but also heat in the apartment. Therefore, it is not necessary to focus exclusively on the price.

A good combination of accessibility, aesthetic, environmental friendliness and ability to skip warmly have wooden structures. A simple grill of narrow slats, which are sold in any construction store, is able to effectively hide radiators and will not interfere with their normal operation. In addition, such a solution will be organically looked at any interior. No wonder the treated tree was used in house design. Its peculiar natural aesthetics, warmth, comfort, which it brings to the house, is valued and claimed so far.

If, as a background for a carved wooden panel, choose a metal sheet - copper or aluminum - such a solution will bring dual benefits. The tree will take on a decorative function, and thanks to the metal, the temperature in the room is not only not dropped due to the closed battery, but may even increase.

Popular Solutions

Currently, there are many ways to hide old cast iron batteries under the window. Screens from a wide variety of materials, niches, painting, mounted in the wall - options for every taste. But if you decorate heating radiators in the living room, bedroom or nursery is quite simple - it is enough to choose a solution that will be harmonized with the common style of the interior - in rooms with characteristic conditions (for example, in the kitchen, bathroom) is more difficult to do it.

For these rooms, it is necessary to choose such a material that will withstand and high humidity., and temperature drops, and the possible effects of steam, chemicals. And with all this will not be toxic. The optimal option will be the painting of radiators to the walls or the color contrasting with it. This way to decorate pipes is the most common in the bathrooms.

As for other premises of the house, everything depends here exclusively from the fantasy and budget of the owners. But the basic requirements for screens for radiators must be respected anyway. After all, their main task is to hide unsightly elements of heating without damage to heat transfer. Therefore, any screen should provide free air circulation and IR radiation. At least create minor obstacles.

Popular now glass screens, of course, has high decorativeness, I look great in the interior, but they significantly reduce the heat transfer, and therefore contribute to the decrease in the room temperature. Such a decor can be used if heating is carried out in any way, for example, with the help of warm floors.

Quite often, it is possible to meet such a solution - the radiators are mounted inside the wall, and a small window (or two) closed with a grid is left for heat. Not only in this case, the room temperature drops significantly, it becomes almost impossible to access the system - for this you will have to break the wall in the literal sense of the word.

The same applies to ducts of plasterboard, plywood, MDF, chipboard and other similar materials. Reducing heat transfer, difficult access to the system against decorativeness. Everyone does the choice for himself.

Screens from metal - copper or aluminum are gaining popularity.Such models will not only be reduced, but can also increase the temperature in the room. Heating from the radiator, such screens themselves perform the role of the battery, and additionally heated the room.

If the room is saved by wallpaper - elements of heating can be decorated using residues. Cutting them with stripes and gluing on radiators (of course, heat-resistant glue), you can get an excellent element of the decor with minimal costs, which will harmoniously fit into the interior.

In the children's room, at all you can give the will of fantasy, and you can attract the process and inhabitants of the room. Children will gladly take for the decoration of their own dwellings and tell themselves how they would like to decorate the batteries. Favorite cartoons, fairy tales, your own imagination, in which the room is not a room at all, but a ship, tank or racing car. All this can be used in the decoration of radiators.

To decorately make up old heating radiators, it is not necessary to spend a large amount of money, forces and time. They can just paint. Fresh-colored batteries will look good in modern interior, such as, for example, Loft, and in classic, and in a gentle-pastel room. The main thing is to choose the color.

The same loft is an industrial style, and the color gamut is appropriate.The most commonly applied black or white color. One of them can be applied for dyeing batteries. Especially impressive will look elements painted in a contrasting color - black on white or white on a black background.

For more prose, calm interiors, this is hardly suitable - after all, he still emphasizes the heating system, it highlights it, and does not hide. In the industrial loft, this is what you need. But, for example, in the classic interior it will be inappropriate. It is better to paint the batteries to the walls so that they merge with the background.

Heating radiators can be decorated with painting. Such elements will look good in the nursery, emphasize the dynamic, active, unusual atmosphere inherent in this room.

In the bathroom you can remove the pipes in the plastic box.In this room, the wood or metal will be irrational - the materials will quickly come into disrepair, and the design will have to be changed. And plastic can safely endure the increased humidity of this room. However, the plastic is not suitable for the kitchen, it is better to give preference to traditional materials.

The decor of the heating system implies not only the disguise of its elements, but also the possibility of easy and quick access to any of its nodes. This is one of the most important criteria for choosing to be guided by choosing radiators.

Another important factor is the heat transfer. But here you can resort to small tricks. Fungalized foamed thermal insulator hanging on the wall behind the battery will reduce heat loss of twenty times.

But it must be attached to the wall, and not just put the battery. At the same time, a distance of at least two or three centimeters should remain between it and the piece of the insulator.

It is not desirable to close the elements of the heating system with boxes, hide them in a niche or mount into the walls. If another option is not possible - it is necessary to supply the door to the door to provide the most fast and easy access to the system at any time.

The modern industry produces heating radiators that differ significantly from Soviet models that everyone is so strive to hide or change. This is not only strictly geometric white radiators. These can be models of almost any shapes and sizes. Such batteries do not have to hide or close, on the contrary, they are accepted to exhibit on the universal review, hang in the center of the wall and demonstrate to guests as a bright unusual accent.

Modern radiators are a spectacular decor element, attractive by itself. Even simple white models have their aesthetics. They are not at all hidden. They will greatly cope with the role of nonsense, but stylish decor elements that still perform practical function - heated the room.

Examples in the interior

Beautifully arrange or hide the radiators in the room so that they were not a "spoon of tar in a barrel of honey" and did not spoil the entire appearance of the room, not such a difficult task. Modern materials allow you to solve this issue with minimal costs.

Vertical, horizontal, sectional, copper, cast-iron - the modern market offers a wide variety of radiators for every taste.

The children's room will look good in the bright, cheerful color, for example, yellow - it is positively affected by the nervous system and the emotional state of the person.

New models, unusual for eyes - vertical radiators. They are located on the wall vertically, can occupy all height from the floor to the ceiling. It looks like this element is quite stylish and perfectly copes with its task - to maintain a comfortable temperature in the room.

Heating radiators are made of various metals and alloys (read also an article - a thermostat for heating radiator). The forms and size of the batteries are also not different than monotony. However, not all elements of the heating system of the house are harmonized with the interior, often tightening all the costs of repair and environment.

Especially annoying looks for cast iron "accordions", resembling about the times of the Soviet Union. Old batteries warmly warm, but do not differ due aesthetics. There are many ways to disguise the speakers from the wall radiators, most of which are quite economical and original.

  1. Fabric case for radiator. Having traced a bit and spending an enno amount of dense tissue, pieces of fur, leather, accessories, you can sew an interesting case, which will hide a radiator and serve as an additional protection for small fidgets.

    Fabric Case for Radiator

  2. Such products of various shapes and colors in a wide range of stores, but if you tend to this option, learning that even through thick matte glass will be viewed in a battery, and wooden lining on radiators and will become similar to "patch". The metal screens are more aesthetic, but it is worth taking care of the combination of the wall of the wall behind the radiator with the color of the metal, in order not to attract attention contrasting surfaces.

  3. False walls and niches from Glk. Designs made of drywall are not difficult. Accordingly, hide behind a neat false wall, heating pipelines can be carried out. However, it is not necessary to completely close the entire battery panels, because it will lead to heat loss and a decrease in the useful area of \u200b\u200bthe room.
  4. This method is creative and does not require large financial costs. Apply a beautiful pattern, turning the radiator into the decor element, is very simple. But it will take preparation and a responsible approach to the quality of materials for work.

Decoupage is an imitation of painting. And for any painting requires a smooth base. New radiators are produced with smooth-beamed sections, so the pattern will be perfect. But above the old cast-iron rarities will have to work to maximize the surface and remove the layers of old paint, drums and rust stains.

Old batteries require preparation for decoupage

Step one. Removal of old paint

Old paint remove not easy.

You can try to use the solvent, applying it to the surface of the radiator and considers the softening enamel with a metal spatula. But if the layers of paint are too much, the option is too tedious. Plus, caustic smells of solvents are destructive affect health.

Another method is mechanical. Entroduce paper with different grains and a corner machine with abrasive nozzles will go into business.

Many masters advise work on cleaning the surface of the batteries using a drill and a nozzle - a brush (wire or polymer-abrasive). Old paint will fly away into two accounts, but it is worth agreed with the neighbors noisy work.

Repair and auto repair shops are often offered sandblasting services. This method is highly efficient, but will require dismantling and transporting a heavy radiator.

And one more option is thermal. Old paint can be removed, heating the surface of the radiator with a construction hairdryer, and then considering the spatula peeling enamel. If there is an opportunity and the desire to dismantle the radiator and take it out of the room, the burner is applicable for cleaning. It will remain only slightly walking the sandpaper on the cast-iron surface.

Note! If the old paint could not be removed for any reason, then the surface is aligned with putty and pollands finely sandpaper. It is not recommended to apply a thick layer of putty, as this will reduce the heat transfer of the radiator.

After removing the old paint, the radiator should be deguted to the "White Spirit", and then coat with a layer of anti-corrosion primer on an alkyd basis to improve the clutch of the paint layer with the metal. Time to dry out putty - from 20 minutes to several hours.

Step second. Coloring radiator

First of all, you should choose the paint that will meet the following requirements:

  • wear and heat resistance;
  • non-toxicity;
  • the lack of a change in the shade of the coating over time.

In addition, it is recommended to choose the paint into the tone of the wall located behind the radiator. Plus, the paint is desirable to acquire matte water-dispersion (with the labeling "for painting radiators"), it will look more spectacular on it, and in the process of coloring, unpleasant chemical smells will not be annoyed.

Apply the paint more conveniently with a fur bilateral mitten. A rubber glove dresses on the hand, and from above - a mitten of fur. Thus, it is very convenient to crose hard-to-reach areas. Do not forget to put the radiator or newspaper under the radiator so as not to blur the floor.

Note! Staining and decoupage are made strictly after the radiator is disconnected from heating. Discharge the valve and wait for the battery cool down. Otherwise, paint will fall unevenly.

Step Three. Preparation of materials

For a start, we take a napkin with the desired pattern and separate the layer with the pattern. We measure the battery sections (length and width) to cut the napkin in size. We cut the napkins, pushing out the measurements obtained.

If there are no finished napkins, you can make them with your own hands. To do this, we find the desired drawing on the Internet. We take a two-layer white paper napkin, apply over the printed pattern and fix the painting tape from one side. Surplus napkins cut off. Now print the picture you like on the sheet of paper with the attached napkin. Split tape, the napkin is ready.

For the living room, it is best to select images of nature and abstractions, the heroes of cartoons are relevant in the nursery, and floral motifs and still lifes will look at the kitchen.

This preparation is completed. We proceed to creative design.

Step fourth. Decoupage of the battery of heating do it yourself

We take the strip of the napkin and the inside side glit to the melting glue of the radiator section. We smooth the napkin with a hand or a wide brush with a mild pile. If some parts of the strips are not glued, we rinse these sections with glue right over the napkins. Watch that bubbles and irregularities are not formed in the process.

Work should be taken carefully, since in case of an error, it will not be possible to remove the spoiled strip without damage.

We wash the brush from glue and open the acrylic varnish for the decoupage, which is glossy, matte or with various holographic effects. Easy clear movements cover lacquer battery. Varnish will fix the drawing and give the work a finished look.

Optionally, you can apply any lines acrylic paint, additional drawings over the napkins so that the work becomes a truly exclusive.

We wait until the lacquer dry and turn the heating. The work is completed.

Video - Decoupage of heating batteries with their own hands

Cast iron batteries are the eternal enemy of the aesthetic type of residential rooms. They can be hidden in the summer period for furniture and tight curtains, but in winter they have to open them. How do you give batteries with your own hands using decoupage with napkins, it will be interesting to know each needlewoman.

Color and drawing

Apply a decor on the heating batteries with your own hands in different ways, but the most simple and does not require serious costs and special skills is a decoupage with napkins. Time to perform such equipment requires a little, and the result will definitely please. The main thing is to choose the right drawing and the color solution, as well as perform the work gently, and it will be quite unnoticed that the battery is decorated with simple napkins.

Ordinary multi-layer cutlery napkins are on sale in a huge assortment, so choose the appropriate color and the picture will not be difficult. When choosing a napkin, you should consider the color gamut and the overall style of the room where decoupage is planned. It is also necessary to determine the purpose of decoupage: to disguise the batteries and make them imperceptible or on the contrary, focus on them.

You can choose napkins with an ornament that will be combined with the drawing of the main wallpaper. This option will help to make a single whole with a shared decor. It is recommended to perform in small places with low ceilings.

If the room is quite spacious, then with the help of decoupage you can select them by emphasizing as a separate subject of the interior. To do this, you can use napkins with landscape or bright pattern.

It is advisable to pre-prepare a sketch, sketching the desired composition on paper, which will greatly facilitate the order of work in the process of applying decoupage.

An example of a decoration of the battery is presented in the photo:

Materials and tools

To enjoy a continuous creative process and not to be distracted looking for the necessary materials, it is better to prepare for work in advance. To decorate radiators, napkins will need the following:

  • pVA glue;
  • multilayer napkins;
  • degreasing;
  • Despite the fact that the decoration of the wipes of heating batteries is not difficult process, to obtain the desired result, it is necessary to adhere to a certain procedure for performing work.

    Preparation of the surface of radiators

    First of all, it is necessary to thoroughly wash the battery with the use of detergents. It should be noted that there are many hard-to-reach places, so it is recommended to use a brush with a long handle or a rash to remove all pollution. Then give the surface to dry or wipe dry with a rag.

    Next, you should give the surface perfect smoothness. To do this, you need to take emotional paper and clean it all bulges and irregularities, as well as remove pieces of loud paint. It is better to use sandpaper with large grains to eliminate deep irregularities, and then treat the surface with a sheet of sandpaper with small granules. After that, rinse the battery again.

    The final stage of surface preparation is caused by heat-resistant white or light enamel tones. The paint must dry completely, for this it must be left for a day.

    Important! It is impossible to use nitrocracy, because when heated it will sweep.

    Application decouphage

    After the surface of the battery is ready, you must prepare the fragments of the drawing for the decoupage. There are several methods of drawing. For example, you can cut the strips of napkins with drawings. To do this, it is pre-measured the width of the radiator rib and raise the napkin on the strips of the appropriate size, then cut.

    It can be done differently: take a cloth with a pattern and cut the edges so that only a fragment of the pattern remains. This method will allow to disguise the edges of the transition when composing the composition, as well as provide a more reliable grip of fragments among themselves.

    Currently, there is a huge range of adhesive compositions for decoupage of various surfaces, but in order to save items, it is better to use PVC glue, especially since its properties are not inferior to other means. PVC glue should be diluted with water in proportions 1: 1.

    Fragment of the picture is attached to the battery and, starting from the middle, apply glue, evenly distributing it in the direction from the center to the edges. Movements must be smooth, so as not to damage the napkin. If there are gaps between the drawings, they can be painted with light enamel. To make decoupage of strength after the glue is completely dry, it is necessary to apply heat-resistant varnish in two layers.

    If some fragments turned out not as I would like, then you should not be upset. Unsuccessfully glued napkin can be painted with white enamel, wait until it dry, and try again.
