a rigid diet - a lack of nutrients that the body experiences with severe restrictions on food, leads, among other things, to hormonal imbalance;

With severe PMS, you need to eliminate the cause, not the consequences.... PMS is not a disease, and the condition does not need to be treated unless it interferes with your life. Depending on the symptoms and possible causes affecting the symptomatology, four types of PMS are distinguished: edematous, neuropsychic, crisis and cephalgic. Mood changes such as irritability, aggressiveness, depression, and loss of energy are characteristic of the neuropsychiatric form. In addition, sometimes women with this form of PMS may experience auditory and olfactory hallucinations, memory problems, fear, suicidal thoughts, she can cry or laugh for no reason. You may also experience headache, bloating, appetite disturbances, and engorgement of the mammary glands.

To confirm the diagnosis of PMS, in addition to the patient's story, a blood test is needed to determine the level of the hormones progesterone, prolactin and estradiol, which is determined at different phases of the cycle. In the neuropsychiatric form, as a rule, the level of prolactin rises. Also, the doctor may recommend a consultation with a psychiatrist and a neurologist.

To correct the neuropsychiatric form of PMS, the doctor may prescribe sedatives (sedatives), as well as hormonal drugs - progesterone analogs.

How to avoid worry?
