Donuts with cheese in a frying pan on water. How to make crumpets at home step by step recipe

It’s too lazy to run to the store for bread after a hard day at work, especially if the weather is completely bad. In such cases, I remember soda puffs, which are made very quickly and turn out incredibly tasty. They can be cooked in a frying pan or in the oven, but the first option is preferable for me, since I spend no more than 10-15 minutes on it.

Fried donuts with soda are perfect for tea, as well as first courses, if the recipe does not include sugar. The dough turns out airy, soft and instantly “flies away” with sour cream, jam and even condensed milk.

Surely your mothers and grandmothers prepared this version of rich, unleavened or puff pastry products and they are very familiar to you. In case you forgot the recipe, I suggest you familiarize yourself with my favorite ways to make such a dish.

Donuts with water and soda

If you want something homemade and simple, without unnecessary sophistication, then soda donuts with water will be the ideal choice for cooking. For the dough you will need to prepare the following ingredients:

  • wheat flour - 0.5 kg;
  • purified water - 500 ml;
  • salt - 0.5 tsp;
  • sugar - 2 tsp;
  • sodium bicarbonate - 0.5 tsp;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Donuts made with kefir and soda

Another cooking recipe that allows you to get fluffier and softer cakes. I cook products using water when I don’t have kefir or milk on hand. If these products are available, then it is better to use them. Donuts made with kefir and soda are prepared according to the following recipe:

  • flour - 3 cups;
  • sugar - 4 tbsp. (sweet option);
  • vegetable oil for frying;
  • sodium bicarbonate - 0.5 tsp;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • kefir (you can take yogurt, milk, etc.) - 200 ml.

Such simple recipes should be “in stock” for every housewife, because very often there are situations when you need to serve something very quickly to the table. Tasty, soft and satisfying crumpets will be an excellent dish that melts on the tongue.

Donuts on water recipe

Such donuts on the water are an ideal option not only for food during Lent, but also for any family tea party they are perfect. Moreover, even the next day this homemade treat does not lose its freshness and attractiveness.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml warm water
  • 2.5 cups wheat flour
  • 75 – 200 g granulated sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 65 ml vegetable oil + for frying
  • 1 dessert spoon 9% or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 heaped teaspoon baking soda or baking powder

Cooking method

  1. First, mix all the bulk products: flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Separately, in a deep bowl, combine water with vegetable oil and vinegar.
  2. Then add the dry mixture into the liquid mixture in parts and knead the dough for the crumpets. There is no need to knead it for a long time; as soon as it becomes smooth and uniform, it’s ready. Roll into a bun, wrap in film and let rest for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Next, divide the dough into 2 or 3 parts and roll it into a thin flat cake. You can form donuts using shaped cookie cutters or with a regular glass or shot glass of a suitable size.
  4. Fry the donuts in very hot oil (they should float in it) for several minutes on both sides. To get rid of excess fat, place the finished baked goods on a paper towel, let cool slightly, and sprinkle with powder. Bon appetit.

Quick fried crumpets

Our ancestors also prepared quick fried donuts. For the classic recipe, only a minimum set of products is used.

Ingredients

  • flour;
  • water;
  • sunflower oil;
  • salt;
  • baking soda.

They can be cooked in the oven, on a gas stove or primus stove. Even in the field, you can put a frying pan on a fire and cook this dish. In some regions, people replaced bread with such baked goods.

Preparation

  1. Take one teaspoon each of salt and baking soda, pour about a glass of water into a container. Stir, add flour, knead into a soft dough.
  2. The dough needs to stand for five minutes so that it has time to ripen. Afterwards you can start cooking.
  3. Place a frying pan on the fire and pour a good portion of sunflower oil into it. We take small portions, roll them into balls and form flat circles no more than one centimeter high. They can be rolled out with a rolling pin, or simply pressed with your hand.
  4. Fry on the first side until they puff up. On the second side, you can choose the degree of doneness at your discretion.
  • three hundred grams of wheat flour;
  • two hundred grams of milk;
  • twenty-five grams of fresh yeast;
  • three chicken eggs;
  • thirty grams of butter;
  • one and a half tablespoons of sugar;
  • a pinch of salt.
  • Cooking process:

    1. Warm up the milk a little, and then add the yeast to it. Wait until they dissolve.

    2.Then add one and a half tablespoons of sugar to the milk and stir the liquid. Leave everything for about twenty minutes at room temperature so that everything ferments a little.

    3.While the yeast is rising, melt the butter until liquid and cool it to room temperature. In eggs, separate the whites from the yolks, add the latter to the oil. We don't need whites in this recipe.

    4. Meanwhile, the yeast has risen. Add them to the egg-butter mixture. Stir everything.

    5.Now mix the flour with a pinch of salt and pour it into a deep bowl. Make a small depression in the flour and slowly pour the liquid mixture into it.

    6.Knead the dough. It should turn out soft and elastic. Place it in a plate, cover it with a towel, let the dough sit for about an hour and rise.

    7. Sprinkle the work surface of the table with flour. Take the dough, place it on the table and also sprinkle with flour. Using a rolling pin, roll it out into a layer no thicker than one centimeter. You can also do this with your hands by simply stretching the dough.

    8.Now prepare two round molds of different diameters. Using the larger mold, press out large circles and make holes in the center with the smaller shape. Do this with the entire dough.

    9. Cover the finished “bagels” with a towel and let them stand for fifteen to twenty minutes.

    10.Place a frying pan on the stove, pour vegetable oil into it and heat it up. Fry the crumpets on both sides until golden brown. It is advisable to then place them on a paper towel to absorb excess fat.

    The finished donuts should be sprinkled with powdered sugar. Serve them with tea or coffee. Bon appetit!

    Fried crumpets with water and soda

    Ingredients:

    Today there are a huge number of recipes for preparing a wide variety of homemade baked goods and desserts for every taste. They are full of originality, abundance of ingredients and richness of taste and aroma. But sometimes you really want simple homemade crumpets that our grandmothers and mothers fried. They are great with sour cream, honey or just tea or milk. And unsweetened donuts are quite suitable instead of bread for any dishes.

    Fried crumpets with water and soda

    Ingredients:

    • wheat flour - approximately 480-500 g;
    • filtered water – 550 ml;
    • salt – 15 g;
    • granulated sugar – 25 g;
    • baking soda – 12 g;
    • vegetable oil for frying.

    Preparation

    Pour salt and half a teaspoon of baking soda into filtered water, stir until the crystals dissolve and add the sifted flour and mix again. The initial consistency of the dough should be like pancakes. Now crush another half teaspoon of soda over the surface of the dough and mix it well. This simple nuance will give the finished crumpets some airiness. Next, add more flour and knead into a soft pliable dough. We make cakes out of it, which we roll out with a rolling pin or knead with our hands to a thickness of about ten to fifteen millimeters. We make several cuts along the surface on top.

    Fry the crumpets in heated vegetable oil over low heat and serve.

    Ingredients:

    • wheat flour – 500-520 g;
    • filtered water – 310 ml;
    • salt – 10 g;
    • granulated sugar – 70 g;
    • – 110 g;
    • dry yeast – 15-20 g;
    • vegetable oil for frying.

    Preparation

    Dissolve granulated sugar, salt and yeast in water heated to a pleasant warmth and let it stand for fifteen minutes in a warm place. During this time, the yeast will begin its work and the mass will foam.

    Then add a glass of sifted flour, mix and add melted butter. Add the rest of the flour in small portions and make a soft dough. Knead it for ten minutes, cover with a towel and place in a warm place.

    When the volume of the dough has doubled or tripled, we begin baking the donuts.

    To do this, pinch off a small amount of it, form a flat cake and roll it out with a rolling pin or your hands. Fry in a heated frying pan with vegetable oil on both sides over moderate heat. Let the rosy donuts cool slightly and serve.
