Meat under bananas. Meat "banana coat"

Dear friends! A new section has appeared on my delicious blog: cuisine of the world. In it I will share with you all kinds of national delicacies. I decided to start with African cuisine...

Basically, African dishes are prepared from lamb, veal, beef, various seafood, as well as cereals, nuts and fruits. There are also more exotic recipes, for example dishes made from camel, turtle or pigeon meat. I promise we won’t cook them.

The fruit is an integral part of African cuisine and is added to soups and porridges. They prepare salads, bake and fry.

Fish dishes are in great demand. The fish is stuffed, stewed, marinated, fried with an egg, sprinkled with coconut milk, or baked whole.

As a side dish, sweet fruits, often bananas, or rice with a lot of curry are served.

Today I suggest you take note of the recipe for meat with bananas. Just imagine, a juicy, roasted piece of meat, with the slight sweetness of banana and the sourness of tomato. All this is wrapped in a delicate cheese and mayonnaise cloud. Are your mouth watering? Then you shouldn’t put off cooking for a long time. Surprise your family!

You will need:

  • 800-900 gr. beef
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 200-230 gr. hard cheese
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 onion
  • 200-250 gr. mayonnaise
  • salt, seasonings to taste

Cut the beef pulp into portions, 2-2.5 centimeters thick. We beat each piece, then rub it with salt and your favorite seasonings. Leave to marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Peel the bananas and cut into slices. For tomatoes, it is better to use firm varieties so that they do not go sour. We cut them into circles, the onion into half rings.

Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil. Place pieces of meat on it, bananas and tomatoes on top. Then onions. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese. Lubricate with mayonnaise. Bake in the oven at 40 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve the finished meat with rice and vegetables. Bon appetit!

Joke of the day:

I bought two bananas at the store. Some very suspicious-looking ones. Sluggish, green, pale. The cashier immediately hurried to reassure:

- No doubt about it. Bananas are great! They just don’t tolerate sea motion well, that’s why they look a little tired...

Shouldn't we make some banana stew?

Just don't spit! I know that some people don’t like bananas, and if they combine this fruit with pork or beef, they may even get into a precipitate. But, I want to say, I myself thought for a long time whether I should cook such a dish or not, curiosity got the better of me. The stew, which turned out to be a very simple recipe, turned out soft, with gravy and, yes, with a hint of banana. I think chicken would also do well in this dish.

The main steps involve frying the meat, which subsequently makes it juicy, and then stewing.

Stew: recipe with bananas and vegetables

Ingredients:

  • pork (that’s what I cooked) – 700 g
  • fruits, but not overripe - 2 pcs.
  • dry white wine – 2 tbsp. spoons
  • large onion
  • large carrots
  • vegetable oil
  • dried basil

Preparation:

1. Divide the meat into small portions, place in hot oil, fry until golden brown.

2. While it is cooking, cut the fruit into cubes and carrots into thin slices. Chop the onion.

3. Add carrots and onions to the meat pieces, mix and fry for no more than three to four minutes. Add bananas and wine, cook for another minute.

4. Pour water over the food in the frying pan (saucepan), close the lid, and cook for about 40 minutes.

5. A couple of minutes before the end of cooking, add salt to taste and sprinkle with basil.

Larochka, again a new addition to our ranks. We haven't had stew with bananas in our diet yet. This is a must try.

Yeah, it didn’t happen with bananas) so try it

I stewed duck with bananas, I didn’t try pork, the duck was delicious. Thanks for the idea…

As far as I know, there is even pizza with chicken and pineapple. I think with proper preparation, banana stew will be just as good, and maybe even tastier.

Pizza with chicken and pineapples is definitely a classic) Perhaps meat with bananas will be the same

I love incompatible combinations! That’s why my favorite restaurant is Japanese cuisine.

Everything with you is still very nice and modest with exclusives - only a banana for meat. I liked it because it was fast, without any hassles. And the taste is definitely good - I’ll add a little canned pineapple at the end, but without stewing it.

I’ll write back later... Oh, what an excellent dish this will turn out to be! :yahoo:

Well why? If you dig around, you can still find something unusual, because I myself love incompatible products in dishes

Perhaps my comment will be banal, but I will still express my opinion on this dish.

I have always loved meat, especially in my youth, especially after exhausting training, and especially on difficult winter hikes.

Bananas - previously could not tolerate them. Now I have become less categorical (age, you see;)). I chew bananas. Meat - in small doses, not fatty or fried, but only boiled or stewed. So you should like the soup. I’ll instruct the girls to cook so as not to spoil the dish myself.

Yes, I can’t resist telling you a story about product compatibility.

It was back in 1972, on a ski trip of the highest category of difficulty along the route Amderma - Ust-Kara - Vorkuta. 350 km in 18 days.

The first part of the route along the Kara Sea to Ust-Kara passed in severe frosts (up to -35...40 degrees). True, the weather was sunny and the driftwood on the banks was excellent fuel for our portable, collapsible stainless steel stove. Just before approaching Ust-Kara, snowstorms began, which turned into a “black” blizzard after leaving Ust-Kara. They walked for a day, they stood for a day. And so on for ten days in a row.

At one of the sites, a hurricane rocked our tent, which stood behind walls built from snow bricks, so much that the next man on duty, Nikolai Ivakhnenko, while preparing milk buckwheat porridge on the stove, hastily, instead of buckwheat, threw freeze-dried meat with buckwheat into the pot and poured diluted condensed milk over this product , well sweetened.

Having started to eat, we began to be indignant, then we forgave the chef for this mistake, and then everyone, without exception, asked Kolya for more...

Years later, I doubted that Nikolai had made a mistake in the gradients. I think he deliberately mixed freeze-dried meat and sweet milk so that we would get more calories

Hmm, interesting mistake, maybe I should try to reproduce the dish?)))

Adding bananas to pork and potato stew in milk or cream makes the dish very interesting in taste. Spices - curry and masala - also play an important role in the taste.

Meat with bananas may be a theme on the New Year's table in the year of the monkey, but just take note of this recipe for culinary experiments in search of a new taste.

Spices for this dish should be hot and spicy, which is why I offer ready-made curry or masala sets (meat mixtures or vegetable mixtures). You can also choose the composition of spices to suit your taste. Meat and bananas can be stewed in a slow cooker or in a deep frying pan.

Prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Chop the onion and crush the garlic cloves with the wide side of the knife.

Simmer them for a few minutes in vegetable oil, then add pieces of pork, a little salt and all the spices.

When the pieces of meat are “sealed”, i.e. there will be no damp spots left on the outside, pour in milk or cream.

After the milk boils, add the diced potatoes and simmer until the pork and potatoes are cooked.

Add banana pieces to the almost finished dish, stir and simmer for another five minutes all together.

The meat with bananas and potatoes is ready. Hearty, aromatic and interesting in taste...

Bon appetit!

Good afternoon.
I cooked beef according to this recipe for the first time. I was very interested in the combination of meat and bananas, I wanted to try it right away. Moreover, all the products are available, and it’s very easy to prepare. And I didn’t regret it, the dish turned out to be really interesting.

The first step is to prepare the banana cheese filling. For this we need cheese. Let's cut it into cubes.

Next, prepare the bananas. It is better to take unripe bananas so that they are not too sweet. I had 2 large ones, which was a bit much. It is better to take either one large one or 2 small ones. Peel the bananas and cut them into 3-4 pieces.

You will also need lemon juice and milk. The original recipe called for 15% cream, but I didn't have any. And I replaced them with homemade milk.

We take salt and pepper to taste. I took a teaspoon of salt and a little less than half a teaspoon of black pepper.

The next step is to put all the prepared ingredients into the blender bowl.

And beat until smooth.

Now let's prepare the meat.
Wash the beef pulp, remove the membranes and cut into slices about 2 cm thick.

Beat each slice well on each side.

Sprinkle a baking dish with vegetable oil and place the prepared beef slices in it tightly next to each other.

Spread the banana-cheese filling over the meat.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the form with meat in it. Bake until the beef is done. Baking time is about an hour.

When the dish is ready, remove it from the oven. And immediately serve hot to the table. The side dish can be anything.

The beef turned out to be very juicy and soft, literally melted in your mouth.

I really liked the combination of meat and banana. The only thing is to serve this dish only hot and it is better not to leave it on the second day. The next day, the banana sauce doesn't taste the same at all.
I will cook this dish again, it will be nice to surprise my guests with it.

Bon appetit!
