Important: when warming up a house from low or negative temperatures, it is worth adhering to the recommended heating rate - if the temperature changes too much, the wood may crack. Therefore, the wooden house warms up smoothly, without turning on the equipment at full power.

Heating devices


The list of heating devices for a private house is much more diverse than residents of city apartments are used to using:

  1. Radiators. Classic heating option, suitable for heating all standard rooms. Models are made in the form of sectional, flat and tubular structures;
  2. Warm skirting board. Compact radiator with plinth-style housing. Installed around the perimeter, creates a stream of warm air. The model is suitable for rooms with panoramic glazing. For example, in the specification of the F-274 project, it is a warm skirting board that is proposed for heating glass walls. In some cases, a warm skirting board is combined with standard radiators or underfloor heating;
  3. Thermal curtains. The devices are built into the floor, mounted above a window or doorway. The technique creates a directed flow, cuts off atmospheric air, reduces heating costs with frequent opening, is mounted in wide openings (double entrance doors, garage doors), panoramic glazing. The equipment works constantly or reacts to sensors;
  4. Warm floor. Piping (when connecting hot water heating) or heating cable (electric heating) in the bathrooms, on the ground floor, in the pool. Underfloor heating is used specifically for heating the floor surface. Depending on the heat calculation, the warm floor is used independently or in combination with other heat sources;
  5. Convectors. Radiators built into the floor are usually equipped with a fan for more efficient heat dissipation. They are used under panoramic windows or balcony doors.

The devices can belong to a single heating system or operate from different sources. For example, radiators and underfloor heating are usually connected to the main (water) mains, curtains and heat guns use electricity directly. In addition, a fireplace can be installed in private houses - a live flame also becomes an additional source of heat.


Design and installation of heating of a country house


The design begins with the determination of the required boiler output. For this, the heat loss of the house is calculated, which takes into account the heat loss through all the enclosing structures (walls, floors, roof, windows), the location of the premises relative to the cardinal points, the ventilation systems used, the climatic zone of construction. On average, to calculate the required heating power, they are guided by 1.2 kW of energy for every 10 m² of heated area, but for each object, the calculations are carried out individually.

The main steps in the selection of equipment and design:

  1. We draw a detailed plan. The diagram shows the location of windows, doors, balconies, toilets, bathrooms;
  2. We clarify the available coolants and the needs of the owners. Each boiler can play the role of the main, additional and backup heating source, be used for hot water supply, operate on one or several circuits;
  3. We develop manifolds for dividing the flow for underfloor heating, supplying coolant to radiators, maintaining the desired temperature in the greenhouse, swimming pool, sauna;
  4. We select radiators by power and appearance, boiler model, pipeline material;
  5. If necessary, we install additional equipment - a boiler for hot water supply, a second boiler for cascade connection, automatic control systems.


Weather-compensated automation: intelligent heating control system

The equipment can be operated manually, but in most turnkey projects weather-dependent automation is installed. The sensors take into account the temperature in the rooms, but react to changes outside, that is, they adjust the parameters of the boiler operation even before the temperature in the rooms changes.

The smart system can be configured to any modes:

  • taking into account working hours (when no one is at home, the temperature drops);
  • divided into night and day hours;
  • for different temperatures for underfloor heating circuits, saunas, swimming pools, living quarters;
  • make an automatic account of the heat capacity of the walls;
  • install a GSM module, monitor and control heating remotely.

The equipment quickly and accurately reacts to changes, maintains the same temperature in automatic mode.

Heating price for wooden houses

Heating costs are divided into 2 parts:

  1. Connection costs, purchase of equipment and installation;
  2. Monthly fee.

Typically, with large one-time network launch costs, the monthly payments are reduced. For example, paying duties, connecting to the gas main and installing a boiler are more expensive than buying an electric heater, but the monthly heating fee is several times less.

If a chimney is not provided, then you need to opt for a boiler with a closed combustion chamber. And to remove air in such a boiler, you can use a coaxial pipe. This will save money on the installation of the pipe.

Wall-mounted boilers already have full automation, but with a water volume of more than 100 liters, install an additional expansion tank, even if there is a built-in one. It will make it possible to compensate for the expansion of the water during heating. Otherwise, the pressure in the boiler will greatly increase with increasing temperature, and the automation will often turn off.

If the choice fell on an electric boiler, then it is best to choose a full automatic machine, with a built-in pump and an expansion tank. This option will be more convenient in installation and will avoid many mistakes.

Be sure to use a special apparatus for stabilizing electricity for such a boiler.

If the fuel is of a tough nature, then such a boiler can be installed by yourself, only knowing how to weld. And they are able to weld heating pipes with their own hands. The outlet temperature of this type of boiler can reach 100 degrees and it will be difficult to install any pipes other than iron pipes without the use of professionals.

It is also possible to use plastic pipes in a system with a boiler running on hard fuel, but a special decoupling is required. It can only be performed by highly professional heating technicians.

When the boiler is selected, you need to choose the right pipes and radiators. The material used for pipes today is different. But when installing with your own hands, it is best to use plastic. It is easy to assemble. The quality of metal pipes has deteriorated significantly today. So from the proposed option, choose metal-plastic or polypropylene.

For a wooden house, radiators with a bottom entry are usually taken. This is due to the fact that it is difficult to hide pipes in the wall of such a house. They are hidden under floors between floors.

Installation of heating in a wooden house

Gas heating is the most affordable for 80% of private households today. Gas is cheaper in Russia than in the rest of the world. And this makes it possible for the Russians to use such heating even with a large living area. Gas equipment is quite simple to install, but it requires a specialist approach.

The first thing to do is to draw up a scheme according to which the amount of material will be calculated and the entire system will be mounted. It is very important to draw up a project for the heating system of the entire building in general. The project will include a heating scheme for a specific house, installation of the system, a list of required materials, cost calculation and budgeting.

Heating schemes

The most popular scheme is the heating scheme by means of water. Water heating is based on the circulation of water in the system from pipes. The water is heated in the boiler and enters the pipes, from which it enters the radiators or other types of heating devices. Heat transfer takes place there. Then the water is returned to the boiler again.

The type of the chosen scheme will depend on how the water moves through the pipes naturally or artificially. The scheme can be drawn up on the basis of the number of heating circuits, two-pipe or one-pipe.

If the circulation process occurs naturally, that is, the water moves under the influence of its chemical functions (expansion during heating), then the circuit will be one-pipe.

If water moves in the system under the influence of a pump (artificially), then the system may already have a two-pipe scheme.

When using a one-pipe system, it is difficult to regulate the temperature throughout the house. It will be different. The further the radiator is from the source, the lower the temperature in it. The two-pipe system makes it possible to avoid this.

For example, imagine two schemes for installing a one-pipe heating system for two-story wooden houses. Using them, you can simply mount such a system with your own hands.

The disadvantage of installing such a system is that the lower radiators will heat up a little less. And a wooden house on different floors will have different temperatures. But on the other hand, subject to the exact scheme, it is easy to assemble it with your own hands. And another advantage of such an installation is the small amount of materials involved in the design. And in order to equalize the temperature, you just need to increase the number of sections on the radiators installed at the end of the system. For faster circulation, a circulation pump can be installed at the cold water inlet.

It is worth noting that schemes with natural circulation are possible if it is possible to install the boiler below the installation level of the radiators. Otherwise, water simply will not circulate in the pipes. During installation, it is necessary to observe the natural angle of inclination from hot water towards the radiators and vice versa, from cooled radiators to the boiler. The expansion tank must be installed in such a scheme. When installing a pump in such a system, its efficiency increases significantly and will make it possible to install the boiler at any level. If the boiler already has a pump in its configuration, then the issue of installing separate equipment is no longer raised.

The system shown in Figure 2 (horizontal arrangement of pairs of radiators) implies the use of such a pump. To maintain an even temperature throughout the system.

The difference between the two schemes lies in the junction with a shut-off valve.

Figures 3 and 4 show diagrams of two-pipe heating systems. Figure 3 shows a diagram with natural water circulation in the upper circuit. Radiators in this case have the same heating temperature. But the cost of material for such a system is higher than one-pipe. For each radiator in such a system, shut-off valves are used, which will allow you to control the temperature in each of them separately.

In Figure 4 we see exactly the same system as in Figure 3. But with lower wiring.

This is a good option for those planning to install a boiler in the basement and pipes are an additional source of heat. This scheme is more popular for gas heating of two-story wooden houses with your own hands. Wooden houses are distinguished by the fact that radiators can be attached to the walls directly at once or by first nipping two bars.

These schemes are also suitable for boilers with hard fuels. The only thing that needs to be changed is the pipe material.

Electric heating

If gas is not available, electricity can be used. There are many options for a wooden house. This is a "warm floor" system, which is sold ready-made or made independently.

It is not very convenient for houses with wooden floors (see) because its installation requires a concrete screed. But if you make a warm floor from a water electric boiler, then this is a very real project.

This system has its advantages. This is a silent operation, the accuracy of the temperature regime in the room.

Metal-plastic pipes with a diameter of 16 - 20 cm are taken. They are laid on a heat-insulating layer. The stacking pattern is usually spiral, as shown in the diagram, or combined. From the base of the collector pipe, which is connected to the boiler, see 10 cm from the walls. The second circuit has a distance of 40 cm from the first. This is done in order to then put the pipe back here. So the laying step will be 20 cm.

It is necessary to fasten the pipes to each other in a straight section after 1 m, more often at the bends.

After fastening, the reliability of the system is checked. Simply put, they fill the pipes with water and see if there is a leak. Then a second wooden formwork is made in the wooden house and the floor is laid on top.

The peculiarity of such a system in a wooden house is that the pipes are obtained as between two formwork, lower and upper. Thermal insulation does not allow the heat to escape downward and, as it rises upward, it heats the floor and the room.

Such a system can be used in homes where there is access to electricity or no gas. Solid fuel boilers still exist today. Their installation is difficult, and requires the skill of not only a heating engineer, but also a welder. The design of such systems, in principle, is not much different from a single-line heating scheme of natural circulation. Only the pipes will come from either the stove or the hard fuel boiler.

If the boiler has a more modern configuration, then the installation of such a system is the same as in Figures 1 and 2
