A homemade airbrush from a syringe is an excellent household helper. This invention makes painting an easy process. You can make a homemade airbrush at home, because not everyone has the opportunity to purchase it in a store, especially since the cost of an airbrush is quite high. will be no worse than the purchased one. In order to make it, you do not need any special skills or abilities, and the parts that make up the airbrush can be found in any home. There are two ways to make a spray gun from a syringe: without a spray gun (this method is very simple) and with a spray gun (more complicated).

What is an airbrush?

An airbrush is the same spray gun (pneumatic tool) that is designed to spray a colorant. It is used in many areas of life, but due to its high cost craftsmen have already learned how to make an airbrush with their own hands.

Method one (airbrush without a spray gun)

First of all, you need to collect everything the right tools... To make this type of airbrush you will need:

  • a disposable syringe and a needle from it (its volume depends only on the desire of the master);
  • clip;
  • a thread;
  • retainer - scotch tape or electrical tape;
  • small container for paint.

The needle must be removed and heated over a fire so that it can be separated from the plastic base. You need to remove the plunger from the syringe, first make the paper clip even, and then bend it at an angle of 90 °. Thread one side of the paperclip and the needle tightly. Then, using tape or electrical tape, fix the other side of the paper clip and the case. Moreover, it is necessary to fix the structure near the hole on which the needle was put on. Set the tip of the needle so that it is in the center of the syringe nozzle.

After that, the paint should be diluted so that it is liquid in a small container. Take the airbrush in your hand, lower the needle into a container with dye and blow hard into a wide nozzle.

Such airbrushes are called in the common people "rotoduvami". In order to make such a device, it will take 9-11 minutes and a minimum of devices.

Method two (airbrush without paint spray)

This method is identical to the method described above, it differs in only a few details.

For manufacturing you will need:

Spray gun position: a - walls, b - ceiling.

  • a rod from a gel pen;
  • disposable syringe + needle;
  • bar segment ballpoint pen;
  • glass or plastic bottle, container for coloring emulsion;
  • hot melt glue.

The whole process of collecting an airbrush takes place in several stages:

  • cut off the writing part of the pen with a cone;
  • cut off the sharp part of the medical needle;
  • Immerse the needle in hot melt glue and insert it into the cut rod so that its tip is visible from the metal part of the rod;
  • top part the syringe is attached to the bottle (a rod with a needle must be inserted into the body);
  • make 3-4 holes in the lid for air access;
  • the distance between the tip of the needle and the pen can be determined experimentally.

One of the advantages of this airbrush is the easy replacement of the reservoir.

Airbrush with paint sprayer

In order to make a more convenient homemade airbrush, you will need the following details:

  • pens (3 ballpoint automatic, 2 gel);
  • pencil;
  • metal empty bottle (you can take a bottle of cosmetics);
  • syringes (2-3);
  • solid wire;
  • bolts 2 pcs. 3 mm each;
  • nipple;
  • small needle - 2 pcs.;
  • glue.

First of all, you need to assemble the cartridge and the needle retainer. You need to make it from a syringe, a gel pen rod, a fountain pen spring and a bolt. Remove the piston from the body, lower the spring inward (it should be next to the thin nozzle), make a hole in the rod and insert the bolt, and they should be perpendicular to each other. This design is then inserted into the housing.

In the body of a ballpoint pen, you need to make holes on both sides with a hot knife: one is smaller and more round (about 0.5 cm), the second is larger and longer (about 2 cm). Next, a piece of wire must be bent into the trigger stop. Heat a needle suitable for the diameter of the wire and make two holes in the body for the bent wire, insert it into the body.

The next step is to prepare 4 pieces of wire 6 cm each and bend them at right angles. These segments should be used to secure the air body, or rather its valve (made from a piece of ballpoint pen body).

Then you need to insert the body that holds the needle directly into the spray gun. It should be inserted without special efforts... The length of the gel pen rod is selected so that the rod rests against the bent wire and the spring is compressed. To connect all parts, you can use epoxy resin, hot melt glue or regular super glue.

Next you need to do air valve airbrush, it will consist of a syringe without a piston, a needle, a spring, a piece of tube from a cylinder (air freshener), a nipple. All parts must be connected, pre-treated with glue.

For the trigger, you need an antenna, a piston head. It is necessary to connect two sections of the antenna with the cap, and insert a match inside with glue already applied to it. All parts also need to be coated with glue so that the structure is strong.

In order to make a paint sprayer for an airbrush, you need one syringe, an iron part of a medical needle, a part of a rod with an iron tip, and an air supply hose.

The tank for the coloring emulsion will be a deodorant can, or rather its upper part, which must be cut off with a knife.

When all the parts are connected to each other, the spray gun can be considered ready. It is not difficult to make it and it will not take long, the main thing is to have a desire. But if you don't want to mess around with a complex airbrush designer, you can completely use the first and second methods. So much time is not spent on them, and parts for their manufacture can be found in any apartment or house.

There is another way to make an airbrush with a spray gun from a can of deodorant. Moreover, an empty canister will act as a spray bottle for soft dispersion of paint or any finely dispersed chemical... For manufacturing you need:

  • empty spray can;
  • a syringe with a large capacity;
  • a vinyl tube with a diameter that will fit the small nozzle;
  • a compressor for creating pressure in the cylinder;
  • gloves.

Remove the deodorant from the can plastic valve... Put the vinyl tube on the syringe, as close as possible to the base, and cut it so that it can be further put on the syringe nozzle, but so that there is room for pressing the cartridge valve (that is, the length of the vinyl tube should be about 0 , 5 cm). Dial liquid paint and connect a piece of vinyl tubing to the can. In this method, the syringe acts as an element for filling the spray can with paint. In order for the paint to get inside the can from under the deodorant, you must press the nozzle of the can and then the plunger of the syringe. It is not difficult to calculate the volume of the refilled paint; it is enough to look at the volume of the spray can and the capacity of the syringe. For example, the volume of the can is 150 ml, the syringe is 10 cubes, which means that you need to pour 5 volumes of paint into the can. It is very important between refueling not to forget to first squeeze the cylinder valve, that is, close it, and only then remove the syringe.

An adapter must be made from the plastic sheath of the medical needle, which will connect the balloon and the compressor. It is necessary to make a small hole in the sealed part of the cover, and insert the open part into the compressor tube. Then turn on the compressor, put the adapter on the can, press on its nozzle and fill with air (for a 150 ml bottle - about 2 kg of air). Before painting, put on a plastic spray bottle and shake it.


I took the same sleeve as a basis. I wound three types of thread on it so that everything would freely enter the syringe. Then I cut out from some garbage, such as foam rubber, an insert into the sleeve. He stuck three different-sized needles in there and pushed it inside the sleeve. Not in the photo, but a couple of pins still fit in there.
At the syringe, I shortened the nozzle by half. He melted it with a lighter and flattened it against the blade of a knife. From the other end of the syringe I cut off the extra "ears" and also neatly trimmed with a lighter. The piston is shortened. He melted a hole in it with a wire and pulled a nylon thread through it. It turned out to be a cork on a string. So that she would not get lost, I tied the thread with tape to the syringe. I wound a nylon thread on the syringe itself so that it was. At the bottom of the syringe I put three small buttons, then a sleeve with threads and needles and plugged the whole thing with a cork. The beauty!

Now I don’t remember exactly how many meters of thread I wound. Thin about 20 meters, nylon 6-10 meters. In any case, enough for the eyes, and there is almost no weight.
In my opinion, it turned out not bad. Everything is quite compact and hermetically sealed. Since the small scissors are in the first-aid kit, I also added this sewing kit there.

Syringes are different sizes(even 150 ml.), and you can easily choose a container to suit your needs. It is possible to fold all kinds of NAZs and fish hooks and spices, but you never know what else? I think this is a little more convenient than pouring sugar and coffee into a cocktail tube. The containers are light, sealed, compact, reusable, cheap and do not take long.
As an example, a couple of my containers.


Salt was poured into a small (10 ml) syringe. I don’t need much with me yet, but just in case it’s enough.
A twenty cube syringe contained 7 hunting matches and a teal glued to a piece of a wooden ruler.


When I buy a 50 ml syringe. I will make a container for sugar. My wife and I just have enough tea and a little left. It will be easier than carrying a full jar with you and freeing up space in the pot.

The pneumatics are ready. It can be used in two ways: either glue the tube and shoot the balls, or do without the tube and shoot cartridges made from needles.

With the first option, everything is clear, so let's move on to making cartridges from needles. This is done very simply. We take a needle and put it on any syringe.


We put the nozzle of the needle into the turned on and hot glue gun and pull the piston, thereby sucking in some glue.


After a while, the glue will harden and cover the hole in the needle, preventing air from escaping from it.




To shoot from homemade pneumatics, you need to put a sealed needle on the syringe nose and pull out the plunger of the second syringe. Next, push the plunger of the first syringe so that it closes the hole behind the needle and press on the second plunger. Thus, pressure is created. To fire a shot, you just need to release the piston that closes the hole.


This is a very interesting and simple toy rocket launcher. Any teenager will absolutely love playing with her. Personally, I am quite an adult, and I am happy to launch rockets from this amazing structure.
The rocket launcher is fueled by ethyl alcohol vapor. Rockets soar into the air with a perky pop, which looks very impressive.

It will be needed to make a rocket launcher

I will make a rocket launcher from four missiles, so it is fashionable to multiply the following items by four times. You can make one rocket.
  • Disposable syringe. I took 60 ml.
  • Used lighter with piezoelectric element.
  • Two-core wire 1-2 meters long.
  • Small planks for the stand.
  • Hot glue gun.
  • Soldering iron, stationery knife, ruler and other available tools.

Making a toy rocket launcher

We take a lighter and disassemble it in order to pull out a piezoelectric element that generates a spark - a discharge of igniting gas.


We take out the piezoelectric element. This is the high-voltage generator itself. The wiring is one pin, and the other is the shiny cap on the bottom.


We take a two-core wire. It is advisable to choose with thicker insulation.


We connect to the piezoelectric element.



Then we insulate everything with electrical tape or, better, like me, with heat shrinkage.
We take two needles from the syringes. Here I want to warn you and suggest either to grind off the tip of the needles with a file or just bite off half a centimeter with pliers. This must be done without fail, as you can get injured during the game.
We connect the wires to the needles. These will be the electrodes that will be inside the rocket launcher.


We solder for reliability. But this is optional.


We take the syringe and take out the plunger.


Remove the rubber seal from the piston.


We make holes in the piston with a soldering iron.


We insert our needles-electrodes into these holes.


Fill with hot glue for sealing.


We take the rubber seal.


Cut off the top with a clerical knife.


We put on the modified piston with electrodes.


Fill the cylinder bore with hot glue. We won't need it anymore.


Cut off the skirt of the syringe barrel.



We take hard cardboard or plastic. And we cut out such rocket flight stabilizers from it.


We bend back a little.


You need four pieces for one rocket.


We glue it to the cylinder.


We collect the rocket launcher.


I made four of these rocket launchers.


To do a stand for the whole thing. I took a rectangular plank and drilled two small holes in the middle of the second half. You will understand why a little later.


Next, we take the second board, but already smaller. We drill a hole in the center for the wires. We glue it obliquely with hot glue. See the photo.


We glue all the rocket launchers.




At the back we fasten the wires with a nylon tie, all four wires.


The remote control is also a plate with piezoelectric elements glued to it on hot glue.
