    Bath bombs are easy. DIY cosmetics

    The recipe for bath bombs - from simple to complex. Surprise your loved ones with a little treat.

    Few women refuse to soak in the bath. The process is actually very pleasant, but, unfortunately, not always useful. So, for example, bath foam often makes the bathing procedure harmful to the skin. But those wishing to take a bath with foam from this does not become less. We offer you a more gentle, but no less pleasant remedy - geyser bombs. More specifically, bath bomb recipes. Do you know that this exclusive remedy can easily be prepared at home? Let's find out exactly how to do this, and at the same time get acquainted with some recipes for bombs.

    Basic (basic) recipe

    Whatever bomb you decide to make, it will always be based on a basic recipe with some permanent and some non-permanent ingredients. Each bomb contains:

    • Citric acid (in powder or granules);
    • drinking soda;
    • Salt (sea or table salt);
    • Dyes;
    • Fillers.

    The main and unchanged components are citric acid and drinking (baking) soda. In any recipe, their ratio should be 1:2. That is, two parts of soda you take one part of citric acid. It is these ingredients that make the bombs hiss and bubble like geysers. All other components are taken in an arbitrary amount. Salt makes up the bulk of the bomb, essential oils or perfumes are added for fragrance, dyes, of course, for color, and fillers for decoration (to a greater extent). How to make such a bomb?

    We measure the required amount of components using a measuring cup, a tablespoon or electronic scales. Pour soda and citric acid into a completely dry bowl or blender bowl and grind almost into powder. By the way, an ordinary coffee grinder or a traditional mortar and pestle is also suitable for this purpose. The smaller these ingredients are, the more effective and longer the bomb will sizzle, dissolving in the bath. Important! Never allow the mixture to become wet at this stage. Otherwise, the reaction will start much before you make the bomb.

    Grind all other ingredients in the same way except for the filler and liquid dyes. Now carefully combine both mixtures and mix them well. Important! If there are wounds or cracks on the hands, then you should use rubber gloves. Now add a few drops of essential oil or perfume and dyes to your semi-finished product and mix again.

    Next comes the most important step. You need to slightly moisten the resulting mixture, bringing it to the consistency of wet sand. Then you can form bombs from the mixture. Take a teaspoon and pour about a third of the water in it into a bowl and quickly mix the mixture. We collect a little mass in the palm of our hand and squeeze it. If it, like wet sand, gathers in a lump and holds its shape, we proceed to the formation of bombs. By the way, fillers can be put directly into the mixture, or you can place them at the bottom of the molds.

    It is best, of course, to use special molds that can be purchased at needlework stores. Handmade soap molds are also suitable. However, ordinary ice molds, as well as children's sand molds, and even small cupcakes, will also fit perfectly. The bomb will regularly hiss and foam in the bathroom, regardless of its shape.

    So, we take a mold, grease it with oil, fill it with a moistened mixture and tamp it down. If we use special forms, then we fill both halves, apply them to each other, hold them pressed for ten seconds and fasten them. By the way, in this case, the second half is not filled very tightly. We leave to dry for six hours near the battery (in winter) or in the sun (in summer). Carefully remove the dried bombs from the mold and store in an airtight container.

    For beginner needlewomen, we offer a selection of tips from experienced colleagues in making hand-made bath bombs.

    • To get multi-colored bombs, you need to prepare mixtures of different colors and portion them into molds.
    • Use food coloring to make bombs - they are harmless to the skin.
    • If you overdid it and overmoistened the mass for the bomb, then just dry it by the battery. Or add dry ingredients (observing proportions).
    • If you have few molds, and you want to make a lot of bombs, then just pack the mixture into a mold, tamp it down, squeeze it tightly and take it out (we are talking about special round molds). And then leave the bomb without a form to dry.
    • If the mass does not want to be molded in any way or crumbles after drying, then you have not sufficiently moistened it.
    • If you are afraid to make a mistake with the amount of water, then use a spray bottle.
    • If you use solid oil for bombs, then first dissolve it in a water bath.
    • Do not use peach and apricot kernel oil to make bombs. The mass to which it is added does not hold its shape well.
    • Store bombs only in a dry place, and even better - in sealed packaging.

    It’s easier, of course, to buy a ready-made bubbling ball. But how can you be sure of its quality and safety? Store-bought balloon water bombs may contain ingredients that are unhealthy. And instead of positive impressions, they will bring problems and poor health. And if these are children's bath bombs, then their natural composition is all the more important.

    Children's direction

    It is also easy for children to make bombs with their own hands. Every child will be happy to bathe with a soap miracle. Noisy seething and a colorful cascade of splashes will delight any kid. It is only necessary to approach the creation of home-made water fireworks with enthusiasm and imagination.

    Swimming beads

    A similar soap firework will provide bath beads. This is a set of small beads similar to pearls. They come in different sizes and colors. Consist of the same ingredients as large geysers + contain gelatin. Often included in large balls. They are placed inside the bomb at the stage of creating a soap masterpiece. Beads give the same unforgettable emotions and sensations. You can buy these wonderful beads on the Internet or in departments with bath products.

    Greetings, dear friends!
    Today we will talk about personal hygiene and how to make everyday activities a particularly pleasant and interesting procedure. Most children enjoy bathing as it relaxes and relieves stress. After this procedure, sleep well. And washing can be turned from a hygiene procedure into an exciting game. And baby bath bombs will help us with this.

    Of course, every child receives the first bath immediately after birth. And in the future, taking a bath becomes a regular daily ritual. Hot water, soap and a washcloth already perfectly cleanse the skin. So what are bombs and why are they needed in the bath? Fragrant balls got such a formidable name because of their shape and ability to "explode" - to dissolve with a hiss and gurgle.

    This is a nice addition that makes bathing fun and rewarding. Of course, children love to watch how, after lowering the ball into hot water, it begins to geyser, foam and hiss. If the fizz contains dyes, the foam will turn into a delicate color, and essential oils and flavors will give a delicious smell.

    Bombs or geysers can be roughly divided into two groups.

    On the effect on the CNS

    • soothing;
    • stimulating.

    While soothing pops are recommended for excitable, anxious and emotionally unstable children who are prone to irritability. They will also help kids with sleep disorders. In contrast, stimulating, invigorating ones are good for slow, inactive children. Suitable for those who find it difficult to concentrate.

    By production method

    • industrial, which can be bought at the store;
    • handmade - made by craftswomen taking into account all your wishes;
    • homemade - handmade.

    Let's talk about how bath bombs are useful or harmful. If you buy balls in a store, you may be faced with the fact that the composition will contain various chemical additives: surfactants, dyes, flavors, preservatives. Surfactants are added to make the geyser foam more intensely, dyes give the bath bomb a pleasant color, flavors give a delicious smell, and preservatives help to keep it for a long time.

    If natural paints, such as saffron, were used in the manufacture, then such a tool will not bring any harm. But more often in the industry they use chemical compounds, and this is not too good for the delicate skin of the baby. However, artificial flavors and fragrances can cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, carefully study the composition when choosing a bathing product.

    A bath bomb is more useful if it is made at home, because you select its composition completely from natural and healthy ingredients, taking into account the needs of your child. Undoubtedly, the process of making a bomb with your own hands together with children will become not only entertaining, but also a developing pastime.

    Compound

    The main ingredients of any fizz are ordinary baking soda and citric acid. Of course, any housewife has these components in the kitchen, as they are often used in cooking. Almost always cheap and available. The action of the geyser is based on the fact that a dry mixture of sodium bicarbonate with acid, when it enters the water, gives a reaction and begins to spin, boil and hiss. This results in water softening. Lemonka is a good natural antioxidant, and the properties of soda to relieve itching and inflammation have long been known. In addition to the main components, you can add:

    • dry milk or cream
    • sea salt
    • flower petals or ground dried flowers
    • emollients and essential oils
    • spices
    • cosmetic clay
    • vitamins

    How to do it yourself

    Of course, the manufacturing process is simple and accessible even to an older child. There is only one component that needs to be prepared without the presence of children, citric acid. To do this, grind its crystals with a coffee grinder into a homogeneous powder. Of course, it is better to do this in a mask or respirator, because the smallest particles can irritate the respiratory tract. So, everything is ready, you can start. There are three manufacturing methods: with the addition of water, with the addition of alcohol and with the help of a spray bottle. The basic ratio of acid and soda is 1:2, i.e. for 1 tablespoon of lemon you need to take 2 tbsp. sodium bicarbonate.

    Fundamental rules

    • utensils for mixing should be well wiped;
    • it is better to work with gloves, because. increased humidity of the hands can cause the main ingredients to react with each other;
    • you can take any mold - a cup of yogurt, silicone for baking, a mold from a children's sand set;
    • mix the dry parts thoroughly first, then add the liquid parts, rubbing well;
    • tamp the mixture very tightly;
    • remove from molds after at least 4 hours;
    • do not store for a long time, it is better to use immediately, storage in a dry room well wrapped in foil is allowed;

    Attention!
    The properties of bath bombs depend on the additional components included in the composition. Add essential oils and herbs based on your child's preferences, desired effect, and possible allergic reactions. If your baby has diathesis or bronchial asthma, it is better to refuse the use of ethers altogether.

    Recipes

    As an illustration, here are a few recipes for baby bath bombs, many of which you can easily make from improvised materials.

    mint

    Promotes relaxation and soothes due to the menthol contained in mint. Undoubtedly, gives peace and improves sleep. First, mix all the dry ingredients, add the base oil to them and grind the mixture well. If it remains crumbly, add a few drops of water, rubbing thoroughly and quickly to avoid a reaction. At the end, drip mint essential oil. Then press firmly into the mold and let dry.

    • 1 tablespoon of sea salt;
    • 1 st. l. citric acid;
    • 2 tbsp. l. sodium bicarbonate;
    • 1/3 teaspoon base oil (olive, grape, castor);
    • ground dry mint;
    • a few drops of green food coloring;
    • 2-3 drops of mint essential oil.

    Chocolate

    Good for softening and nourishing the skin. The principle of its manufacture is the same as in the previous case.
    Take citric acid and soda in a ratio of 1 to 2, add one tablespoon to them. powdered milk or cream and one tbsp. cocoa. After that, stir well, add base oil and a few drops of vitamin E.

    invigorating

    Of course, it stimulates activity, gives a joyful mood. Add 1 tbsp to the main mixture. cornstarch, and then 1/3 tsp. base and a few drops of essential oils of orange and sweet tangerine. A bright orange pleasant color will give saffron if you take it as a natural dye. If desired, drop 2-3 drops. cinnamon ether. The combination of cinnamon and citrus gives a warm, sweet, bright aroma.

    soothing

    Promotes relaxation and rest, as well as relieves anxiety and normalizes sleep.
    Mix soda and lemon as in the first recipe, then add a tablespoon of sea salt, tsp. powdered milk, half tsp. castor oil, a few drops of lavender ether, 1-2 k. blue food or cosmetic dye.

    Attention!
    In order to make multi-colored geysers, you need to prepare a mixture of several colors and pour them into a mold in layers or in random order. Use crushed dried flowers, cocoa or coffee, rose petals, saffron if you want to get variegated. Do not add coloring components if your plans are for a dye-free bomb. As a result, it will be dazzlingly white!

    secrets

    Sometimes it happens that during the cooking process, when water is added, the mixture immediately starts to sizzle. Then add the liquid drop by drop, trying to rub thoroughly. For this purpose, you can moisten the mixture from a spray bottle. However, you should not get carried away, otherwise the soda will react with the acid. And unfortunately, all the work will be in vain. Be careful, because the humidity should be such that the gruel is easily compacted and does not crumble.

    Rest assured, your little one will love helping you make pops. Moreover, swimming with them will become his favorite pastime. However, we must not forget that although sea salt, oils and soda are good for the skin, it is not recommended to use such products on a daily basis. Enough 1 time in 2 weeks. Throwing a ball or figurine should be into hot water, only then it will work and reveal its properties completely. Keep in mind that you need to take such a bath at the end of washing. After all hygiene procedures with soap are finished.

    It's time to try to create such bombs yourself.

    What are bath bombs and why do I need them, I wrote earlier. Now I propose to make them yourself.

    I managed to make a bomb on the first try. Despite the fact that on various forums dedicated to making bombs, there are many beginners with bad experience. The main thing is not to get upset. If the bomb did not work out, fell apart or crawled when dried, you do not need to throw it away. Can be crushed and used as an effervescent bath mixture. Not as original, but just as effective.

    Classic composition for 1 bomb:

    * 4 tablespoons soda,
    * 2 tbsp. l. citric acid,
    * 2 tbsp. base oil (olive, sea buckthorn, castor, almond, etc.),
    * 2 tbsp. filler (milk powder, sea salt, zest, corn starch, clay, herbs, etc.). Remember, the filler should be 2 tablespoons, no more, no less. For example, 1 tbsp. powdered milk 1 tbsp. sea salt, or 2 tbsp. salt, or 2 tbsp. powdered milk, or in other combinations. We reduced one dry component, which means the amount of the second increased by the same amount. It is important.
    * 7-8 drops of essential oils,
    * moulds. I have children's sandbox molds. You can use different caps for creams (great for foot bath bombs) and so on.

    Do not knead the mixture at once for several bombs, it quickly hardens.

    A few words about the base oil. I do not recommend taking sunflower oil, it quickly goes rancid. Flaxseed oil also quickly goes bitter, but if the bombs are not stored for a long time, then you can use it. From sea buckthorn oil, the bath is painted in a light orange color, but if you wash it right away, then everything goes away without problems. The best is grape seed oil or olive oil. Often used and almond. Castor oil is considered heavy, creating a very dense film on the surface. But if you take it not 2 tbsp, but only 1 teaspoon, then the unpleasant oil film becomes quite tolerable.

    I even recommend 1 teaspoon of base oil instead of 2 tablespoons. So it is more pleasant for the bather and the effect of softening the skin is also obtained. In order to get a mass, like wet sand, you can sprinkle the mixture with alcohol or vodka from a spray bottle (no more than 4-5 puffs!). It is better to spray once, mix the mixture and add more if necessary. Over time, you will determine your number of puffs.

    Now about the filler. I strongly do not recommend taking clay. In dry form, it has a rather beautiful color, but in water, and even with oil, it turns out just gray oily water. Brrr! Potato starch is also blacklisted. Cornstarch, like milk powder, also makes the water cloudy, but they have more benefits, the skin becomes tender and soft. You can use ground oatmeal, sugar, etc. The scope for flight of fancy is simply huge.

    Let's start mixing the ingredients. We take soda, citric acid (it would be better to grind it in a coffee grinder), oil, essential oils and filler - sea salt and tangerine zest. With lemon you need to be very careful, because. it irritates mucous membranes and can cause an allergic reaction, so make sure there are no children or pets around and take care of an airway bandage.

    I sift through a sieve so that there are no lumps.

    Knead and knead well, like dough.

    Then I make 2-3 puffs of vodka and mix again. You need to act quickly, because. mass solidifies quickly. The mass should turn out like wet sand. We determine the readiness of the mixture as follows - we squeeze it in our hand. It should form a dense lump that easily breaks apart when pressed with a finger. If it doesn't work, stir the mixture further and add the zilch.

    We check if the mass is ready.

    The mass is ready.

    Pack the mass tightly into molds. For decoration, I sprinkled unground sea salt on the bottom of the mold.

    If there is a mixture left, fill out the appropriate form.

    If the bomb is round and consists of 2 parts, then fill in 2 halves of molds with a slide (we fill the sides of the mold well). The halves are firmly pressed against each other. After 2-3 seconds, carefully open the halves (carefully, it can crumble!) And put the bomb to dry. The room in which the bomb dries should not have high humidity, otherwise the bomb will be saturated and float (there will be a reaction).

    If, despite all your efforts, the bomb floated, i.e. began to hiss actively, quickly crumble it, add 1 tsp. dry component, knead again and fill the mold tightly. You can put it in the freezer for a couple of minutes. Sometimes it helps. But I hope this just doesn't happen.

    The bomb is ready. You can leave the bomb in the form for literally one minute. She jumped out of this form on her own.

    If various flowers are added to the bomb as a decoration, then before use it is recommended to soak them in oil for better adhesion of the components - otherwise it will simply crumble when dried.

    To get multi-colored bombs, the mixture must be divided into two parts. Add dye to one of them - it can be both food and natural ingredients. For example, cinnamon. You need to be very careful and careful with it, because. it irritates the skin, you can simply get burned. The safest way is to use colored sea salt.

    There is another component that may be present in the bombs. This is magnesia - Epsom salt - magnesium sulfate. It is added for a long bubbling bomb - from 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. Although I do fine without it. But, as they say, there is no limit to perfection.

    Using various fillers and oils, you can create bombs with various properties: relaxing, anti-cold, soothing, tonic, etc.

    Try it and you won't be able to stop! It is very exciting!

    Spa connoisseurs at home often use bath bombs or a geyser. This cosmetic product has relaxing and tonic properties, has a beneficial effect on the skin. On the shelves there is a large assortment of ready-made products. However, it is possible to make your own using recipes detailing how to make a bath bomb at home.

    It is necessary to make bombs with gloves and a gauze mask in order to avoid getting dust of citric acid on the mucous membranes (when crushing it), as this can cause a burn.

    Basic Recipe

    The easiest way to make a bath bomb is to use the main components, which are soda and citric acid, as well as auxiliary ones - filler and oils (essential, aromatic or ordinary). For the attractiveness of the appearance, you can use food or cosmetic dye.

    Cooking technology

    1. Sift through a sieve soda and ground citric acid in a ratio of 2 to 1, respectively. Mix the ingredients until smooth.
    2. Add filler (1-2 parts). As a filler, you can choose from starch, milk powder or cream, ground oatmeal, sea salt, clay, and more.
    3. Then gradually stir in 1/2 of the base oil (olive, almond, etc.).
    4. After that, add the same amount of essential or aromatic oil. You should not mix them, you should choose one of them. If a hiss occurs, the composition should be stirred quickly.
    5. To make the bombs colorful, the mass must be divided into several parts, and a few drops of food or cosmetic coloring should be added to each. In this case, the composition should be quickly mixed until it acquires a uniform shade. Powder dye requires special care when mixing, it must be added little by little and rub the mixture with your fingers to give the desired color.
    6. For adhesion of the mass, a small amount of water should be sprayed with a spray gun (2-3 times). It is recommended to start with a small amount, the composition should remain crumbly, but stick together when compressed. It is necessary to actively and continuously mix the mass so that it does not bubble. With increased humidity in the room, water should be used a little less.
    7. After that, the bombs need to be given an attractive look. To do this, you can use special molds or standard forms for cookies, ice or children. Fill them with the finished composition, then carefully remove it and leave it for a while in a dry, warm room until it hardens.
    8. To make a round bomb, you should take 2 halves of the sphere and fasten them after filling, pressing them firmly against each other. After drying, the bombs should be removed and can be used.
