The Komsomol was supposed to direct the energy, the initiative of young men and women to the restoration of the national economy destroyed by the Nazis.
- In those difficult post-war years, happy with the opportunity to show their intelligence and skill in a peaceful field, Komsomol members were literally inexhaustible in enthusiasm and new ideas and proposals.
- In February 1947, the youth teams of a number of Leningrad enterprises came up with a proposal to start a competition under the slogan "Five-year plan - in four years." During this period, a movement arose for extending the overhaul life of equipment, for saving raw materials, excellent product quality, for working on saved materials.
- The Komsomol is the soul of the movement of innovators and inventors. Competition between Komsomol organizations for the best organization of rationalization work, competitions for the best rationalization proposal, raids to check their implementation in production - these are just some of the forms of work aimed at improving and reducing the cost of production, achieving the highest labor productivity at the lowest cost.
