Ease of installation is also an obvious advantage. Even a beginner can cope with this task, thanks to the simplicity of the design.

As for the disadvantages, there is only one - the surface is inhomogeneous and has a lattice structure.

Ceiling device "Armstrong"

Suspended ceiling "Armstrong" is a lattice-shaped frame suspended from the supporting base and square-shaped cassettes stacked in it. To appreciate the attractiveness and functionality of these structures, you need to have an idea of what they are made of. In addition, knowledge of the parameters of the product will help in making the choice of material and in carrying out calculations.

Their device is quite simple:

  1. Cassettes or plates. This part of the structure is used to create the front surface. They are square in shape. They are made of plasterboard, mineral wool, glass, aluminum and plastic. They have various colors and textures. The standard side size of a square is 595 mm.
  2. Carrying profile. In cross-section, it resembles an inverted letter "T", on the shelves of which cassettes are stacked. It is produced in the form of steel strips with a length of 370 cm.
  3. Cross profile. These parts have a cross-section, like the bearing profile. Available in lengths of 60 cm.
  4. Corner profile that is attached to the walls.
  5. Awnings. Products intended for fastening the frame to the base plate. Height adjustable.
  6. Raster lights. Identical in shape to cassettes. Equipped with fluorescent or LED lamps.

During the installation process, plastic dowels and anchor hardware with hooks are used.

How to install a false ceiling?

Surely, many owners of houses and apartments thought about independent repairs in their homes. Before the advent of tiled suspension systems, this was quite problematic, as it required serious construction skills and the help of one or two people.

On a note: The video on how to install an Armstrong suspended ceiling shows that even very large areas can be finished alone. This will provide tangible financial savings.

Tools and equipment

In an apartment or a private house, finishing the ceiling with stretch canvases will be a good solution. This will help hide the unevenness of the base, hide various unseemly communications under the material (electric wires, hood, etc.). Stretch ceilings have many advantages. There are a huge number of their colors and textures. This finish will harmoniously fit into almost any type of interior.

Installation organizations carry out the installation of canvases is quite expensive. If you want to save money on the family budget, if you have enough free time, you can do all the actions yourself. How are stretch ceilings installed? will be discussed in detail in the article.

Material selection

There are two main varieties stretch ceilings. How to install presented designs, directly depends on their features and characteristics. Distinguish between fabric ceilings and PVC film finishes. The choice depends on the type of premises, as well as on the preferences of the owners of the house.

Fabric ceilings are made of polyester material. It is impregnated with polyurethane to impart the required durability and wear resistance. Almost any pattern can be applied to the surface of the canvas. It can be one color, a drawing, or even a picture. Due to the features of the operational characteristics, fabric ceilings are installed in the living room, bedroom, children's room or office.

The PVC film has a glossy surface. It gives the room a solemnity and beauty. Such a canvas does not allow moisture to pass through, it is not afraid of splashes. The film can be installed in bathrooms, kitchens and other areas. Cheap varieties of material can give off an unpleasant chemical odor. This is harmful to health. Installing such canvases in the bedroom or nursery is highly discouraged.

Interested in is it possible to install stretch ceilings, you should consider the technology of this process. Film and fabric mounting has a number of differences. Before starting work, you need to know about this in detail.

Installation methods

Studying how install a stretch ceiling in the bathroom, in the kitchen, bedroom or living room, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the existing techniques for carrying out this process.

The PVC film is mounted on the base using glazing beads or special wedges. The harpoon method can also be used in this case. It is considered to be a rather complicated but reliable way. The fact is that there are no canvases with welded harpoons on sale. They will need to be attached to the film using special equipment. This procedure is carried out by specialized organizations. The processing cost is quite high. This is due to the use of sophisticated high-tech equipment.

Most often, for self-assembly, glazing beads or wedges are used. When installing around the perimeter of the room, a special rigid baguette is installed. It has a certain kind of profile. Shtapik assumes the use of special additional fasteners. The fabric is wound into a baguette. It is fixed with a bead inside the structure.

There are also clip-on clamps. First, the film is wound inside the profile. Then it is closed. The baguette holds the material securely inside. There are many different ways to fix a stretch ceiling in a profile.

It is easier to assemble fabric ceilings yourself. In this case, the frame is also mounted around the perimeter of the base. The canvas is clamped in it. The difference lies in the method of stretching the material.

Preparatory stage

Studying the technology of how to install a stretch ceiling with your own hands, it is necessary to consider the detailed instructions for this process. First, you will need to carry out a number of preparatory work.

All furniture is taken out of the room. If necessary, the walls are plastered, finishing works are carried out. It is also necessary to prepare the base of the ceiling itself. There should be no old whitewash or paint on it. If the material begins to crumble, it will ruin the appearance of the stretched fabric.

The seams between the plates should also be coated with putty. The walls should be flat. This will greatly facilitate the process of installing profiles. You should also pre-mount all communications, bring wires for the chandelier or spotlights. You can hide the ventilation box under the canvas. How to install a spotlight in a stretch ceiling? WITH there is a specific instruction.

If you plan to install a chandelier in the room, you need to prepare a base for it. It is possible to lengthen an existing hook by reinforcing it with an additional metal chain. You can also build a special base. It should not reach the surface of the canvas by a few centimeters.

Required tools

To install a stretch ceiling in the room, bathroom or kitchen, you should prepare all the necessary equipment. Every home master has some at hand. Some of the equipment will most likely need to be purchased.

First of all, for installation, it is necessary to prepare a screwdriver and a hammer drill. You will also need a tape measure, a building level. It is necessary to install the canvas in profile using special blades. You will need to purchase a set of them. You will need straight and angled blades.

You should also choose a certain type of canvas for a stretch ceiling. In this case, the operating conditions of the finish are taken into account. After that, profiles are selected. They can be plastic or aluminum.

Various optional accessories can be selected. They are presented in the form of multi-colored inserts. Also, if necessary, purchase clamps, accessories for the installation of lighting devices (glue, plastic rings).

If the PVC film is stretched, you should purchase a special heat gun or a hair dryer. This equipment will allow you to properly mount the canvas.

Profile installation

By choosing which stretch ceiling to install indoors, having selected all the necessary materials and tools, you should consider the procedure and stages of the installation itself. First you need to make the correct wall markings. For this, the height of the walls is measured in all four corners of the room.

After measurements, appropriate marks are applied to the surface. The difference in height can be about 5 cm or even more in some apartments. Having determined the smallest distance from the floor to the ceiling, it is necessary to subtract from the result obtained the space that will be allocated for the ceiling communications. If a chandelier will be installed in the room, you need to take into account the height of the platform for its fastening.

After the calculations are made using a laser level, a line is drawn on the walls in the room. The profile will be installed on it. This mark should be perfectly level.

After that, you need to familiarize yourself with the technology of how to install a curtain rod on a stretch ceiling. A profile is installed along the marked line using dowels or self-tapping screws. The step between the fasteners should be 7 cm. To simplify installation, you can first glue the profile to the wall. This way it will not move.

Installation of a film ceiling

Many aspiring installers ask how many stretch ceilings are installed. It should be noted that the duration of this process depends on many factors. Professionals do all the work in one day. A beginner master will take more time.

The installation starts from the base angle. Clips should be installed. They are fixed in the corners of the room. First, one edge of the canvas is attached. Next, the opposite corner is fixed with a clothespin. Then all the edges of the canvas should be secured with clothespins.

After that, you need to direct a stream of hot air (at least 70 ºС) onto the canvas. Then, in turn, the corners of the web in the profile are fixed using a spatula. The clothespins are removable. All edges of the film are fixed in the profile.

The procedure ends with the installation of a plastic molding around the perimeter of the room. This decorative element can be selected in specialized hardware stores.

Chandelier for plastic canvas

It is important to consider how to install a chandelier on a stretch ceiling. There are several options for carrying out this process. Even before installing the canvas in the baguettes, it is necessary to prepare a platform for the lighting fixture.

If a chandelier hook is already provided in the ceiling, it will need to be lengthened. In this case, the distance from the canvas to the base of the ceiling is taken into account. The hook will need to be reinforced. For this, steel chains are used.

If there is no hook at the base of the ceiling, a special platform should be prepared. This takes into account the weight of the lighting fixture. If it is a small, lightweight chandelier, you can make two glazing beads on which the platform will be attached. A lighting device will be mounted to it.

It may be necessary to consider the technology of how to install a chandelier on a stretch ceiling that weighs a lot. In this case, the platform should be installed not on two, but on four supports. The platform should not reach a few centimeters for the surface of the canvas.

Chandelier installation

To install a chandelier on a plastic stretch ceiling, you need to perform a number of manipulations. It should be noted that the film can deform and break under the weight of the lighting fixture. To prevent this from happening, when installing a PVC sheet, you will need to perform a few simple steps.

You need to purchase special protective plastic rings. They will prevent the destruction of the material at the installation site of the chandelier. How to install luminaires in a stretch ceiling? WITH there is a certain technique.

The retaining ring must be glued to the film in the place where the mounting platform or hook is installed under the canvas. You need to wait. When the glue is dry, a round hole is cut in the center of the ring using a clerical knife. An electrical wire is pulled through it.

The chandelier is connected to the mains. Then it is attached to the prepared platform or hung on a hook. The installation site is covered with a decorative cap. If desired, you can create a system of spotlights. In this case, protective rings are also used.

Safety regulations

To install a stretch ceiling in the kitchen, in the bathroom or other rooms, you will need to use special equipment. When carrying out such work, all safety rules must be observed.

A heat gun heats air using gas. This is explosive equipment. The cylinder must be serviceable. If its service life has expired, the cannon cannot be used.

If you need to fill the cylinder, you should contact a special organization. You cannot perform such actions at a gas station.

Before starting work, it is necessary to check whether the hose is intact, whether there is any visible damage to the equipment. If a gas leak is detected, the unit will need to be returned for repair.

The heat gun creates high heat. It is strictly forbidden to direct the flow of hot air to the cylinder. Strict observance of the rules for the operation of gas equipment guarantees the safety of the master. If you ignore the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer, you can cause significant damage to the property, health of the master.

Fabric ceiling

Having studied the technology of mounting vinyl canvases, you should pay attention to the technology of the fabric. Such products have no seams. Their width can be up to 5 m. This makes it possible to mount seamless canvases in almost any room.

Fabric stretch ceilings are easier to install with your own hands. In this case, you do not need to use a heating gun. The room should be at normal temperature. This type of installation also presupposes the pre-installation of the profiles. Strong structures must be preferred.

The installation of profiles is carried out using the same technology as in the case of a PVC-film ceiling. First, the marking is done, and then using dowels or self-tapping screws, the guides are tightly attached to the wall.

You should start pulling the canvas from the fabric not from the corners, but from the middle of the wall. First, a kind of cross is formed from the material. The rest of the pieces are pulled from the center to the corners of the room. In this case, special blades are also used. Excess material is cut off with a sharp knife. The installation should be carried out so that no wrinkles form on the canvas.

Having considered, how stretch ceilings are installed different types, you can complete the whole process yourself. Following the recommendations of experts, you can achieve a high quality finish. When working, be sure to follow the existing safety rules. Installation of cloth for beginners is easier than PVC films.

Armstrong ceilings belong to a class of suspended ceilings that have become very popular. They are most often found in various office spaces. It is not recommended to install ceilings of this type when decorating apartments, since the slabs contain asbestos.

In the article we will tell you about the installation of the Armstrong suspended ceiling with your own hands, we will give step-by-step instructions, as well as photo materials.

Requirements for work

  • Plates should be installed only after the completion of installation and construction work in the room, including "wet" finishing work, laying the floor, installing doors and windows.
  • It is recommended to carry out work on installation of a suspended ceiling at a temperature of 15 to 30 ° C.
  • The recommended air humidity in the rooms is no more than 70%.

It is necessary to mount massive lamps and air conditioners only on self-contained supporting structures.

  • If it is required to lay an additional layer of insulating material on top of the plates, or to install built-in lamps, then it is necessary to increase the number of suspensions used.
  • To prevent overloading of the profile, the extreme suspension must be placed at a distance of no more than 0.60 m from the walls (for slab weight ≤ 4 kg / m²) and 0.45 m (for slab weight ≥ 4 kg / m²).
  • A distance of at least 120 mm must be maintained between the frame and the base. This contributes to obtaining in the future the possibility of dismantling the plates during the operation of the Armstrong ceiling.
  • The fixing step should be no more than 1200 mm.

Stages of installation work

Installation should begin after placing all communications behind the false ceiling, since their laying at the end of installation will be extremely inconvenient.

When choosing a suspension system, pay attention to the weight of the equipment and communications planned for placement in the false ceiling. The Armstrong ceiling is designed for a load of approximately 6.5 kg / m².

We proceed to consider the stages of the installation work.

  • First, mark the horizontal surface of the future ceiling: put the first mark on any of the walls of the room at a distance from the floor or the existing ceiling so that the system you are installing can close the communications laid on top or existing protrusions. The markings should be carried out taking into account the height of the built-in accessories.
  • After making your first mark, project the rest of the necessary marks on all walls of the room in the same way so that you can easily connect them with an even straight line. The projection of the marks should be carried out using a special water level. You can also use a more modern laser level.
  • After drawing a straight, even line on the walls that sets the level of the surface of the future ceiling, you can proceed with the installation of the ceiling system.
  • Attach the L-profile, which is usually included in the kit, to the walls along the drawn line. You can divide the profile into the required dimensions with a hacksaw for metal. Use a miter box or protractor to cut corner joints. The profile must be fastened with the painted side down and in such a way that it forms a shelf.

  • Next, you should mount the guide profiles, which look like the letter T, only inverted. Their length is different. At the two ends of the short profile there are small projections, and in the long one there are slots into which the short profile is inserted during installation. As a result, you should have a lattice of profiles, consisting of cells with a size of 600x600 mm.
  • Fill the resulting lattice with Armstrong cassettes, and at the same time with the accessories with which you decided to decorate the new ceiling. It is best to start laying in the middle of the room. By gradually securing the remaining slabs away from the center, you can evenly trim the outermost slabs to ensure that the ceiling looks neat.

  • The guide profiles are hung on an ordinary wire with a diameter of ≤ 2 mm, or using hanging elements (2 thin metal rods threaded through holes in a curved plate, the so-called "petal"). If you decide to use the wire, then you need to first straighten it using any mechanical tool at hand, and then form at least three loops at the points where it is attached to the profile system and ceiling fasteners.
  • Choose dowels for screws based on the quality of the ceiling material.
  • Hook or ring screws are used as fasteners.
  • Using a spirit level, align the grating horizontally. Repeat the alignment of the Armstrong ceiling in a couple of days - by this time your new ceiling has already had time to receive full load.

A well-executed false ceiling installation will help to decorate any office space.

Installation of a mirrored ceiling like Armstrong. The main focus is on marking the ceiling, aligning the structure and cutting the mirror cassettes:

Assembly of Armstrong suspended ceilings:

In addition to the decorative function, suspended ceilings also have practical benefits - they completely hide the ceiling, all its shortcomings, wiring and irregularities. Installing a suspended ceiling does not take much effort, you can install it yourself.

The ability to hide the ceiling

The most important thing is why they pay attention to suspended structures. The surface does not need to be leveled, there is no need to make separate niches for wires, everything can be hidden.
But what is a plus and at the same time a disadvantage.
A suspended ceiling takes up space, due to which your room will be at least 5 cm lower. Installation in small rooms is associated with an even greater reduction. You can cope with this with the help of mirror or glossy surfaces. This will help to visually expand the space.

Suspended frame structure

Its installation is not difficult. Anyone can handle this. Rails, cassettes or sheets of plasterboard are attached to the frame. There shouldn't be any special problems with this either. You don't need a specific tool or knowledge.

Care

Wipe down periodically is sufficient. But plasterboard ceilings will require updating. They need to be painted over time.

Strength

Depends on the selected material. If we talk about metal slats, then they are not afraid of much. But plastic and drywall are afraid of strong blows.

All materials are fireproof and non-combustible. In addition, the price of any suspended structure is lower than other expensive finishes.

What are false ceilings made of?

The types of suspended ceilings differ in the materials used, the fasteners for the false ceiling are the same - the frame.

One of the most common types of suspended ceilings is plasterboard ceilings. Drywall is not afraid of heat, such as plastic. It does not deform from closely spaced luminaires, so their choice is much wider.

In appearance, plasterboard structures are in no way inferior to stretch ceilings. You can create designs from one or more levels. With or without a picture, in any color.
However, drywall does not tolerate moisture. They prefer not to install it in the kitchen or bathroom. If you do install it, then you need to treat the surface with a moisture-repellent compound. The surface of the drywall needs to be painted periodically.

Rack or panel ceilings. Slats can be made of three materials: wood, plastic and metal.
Plastic slats are one of the most budgetary types of finishes. But they are not used very often. It's all about their appearance: they look simple enough. Plastic will not last long, over time it will start to turn yellow. It is worth choosing not the cheapest panels, and then your ceiling will look better, but then PVC panels will not belong to the budget types of finishes. Plastic is not afraid of wet rooms, but it is better to protect it from direct contact with water.

Metal slats. They are made of steel or aluminum. The second option is more common. Aluminum is indifferent to water, corrosion, temperature extremes, high and low temperatures. This is a good option for a bathroom, hallway or kitchen. The surface of the slats is matte, glossy or mirrored. Such ceilings may take centimeters from the ceiling, but they visually increase the space due to their texture.
Wooden slats can hit your wallet really hard.
Wood remains one of the most expensive materials. Its appearance does not differ in variety, but it is completely environmentally friendly and safe. You can actually install it anywhere, it all depends on the type of wood and the amount that you are willing to pay.
Cassette ceilings go along with the slats. In principle, they do not differ in the type of materials, only in appearance.

Preliminary surface preparation

Do-it-yourself false ceiling installation is simple and does not require many costs. But, despite the fact that the design of the suspended ceiling hides the ceiling completely, preliminary work is indispensable. The amount of work depends on your desire. You can make major repairs or simply prime the surface.

The first stage of work is the removal of all fixtures. Remember to turn off the electricity before starting work. Remove all lighting fixtures. Fix the wires with electrical tape at the place of the future location of the devices. Ceiling work involves dirt and dust, so cover all furniture and floors with plastic.

Surface preparation is essential. If you don’t do this, debris will subsequently spill onto the new materials, and mold and mildew can spill over onto the clean sheet.

To prepare you need:

  • Remove old coating. This is optional, but the longer you have old paint and wallpaper, the more difficult it will be to remove;
  • Wipe off old stains. It is also not necessary, but the same principle works: the longer, the more difficult;
  • Fill cracks and holes;
  • Ceiling primer. It is imperative to prime the ceiling, regardless of your coverage. The primer will keep mold and mildew free.

You can remove old wallpaper or whitewash with warm soapy water. Simply dampen the entire surface with water and remove the coating with a rag. If a rag doesn't work, use a putty knife. If this does not help, then use chemicals.

You can remove old paint with a special solution, which can be bought at any hardware store. There is a more budgetary option - to beat it off with a hammer.
Stains can be removed with alcohol or gasoline, depending on their origin. Mold and mildew is removed with baking soda or vinegar. If folk remedies did not help you, then try to buy special substances with a more aggressive composition in the store.

The holes are closed with putty. For larger ones, you can additionally use polyurethane foam. Cracks can be removed with silicone sealant.
After all these works, it is the turn for the primer. The choice of a primer is not fundamental, the main thing is that it is resistant to moisture and contains substances against the formation of mold. Apply the primer in several layers. The finished surface should be smooth.

Required materials and tools

The suspended ceiling frame consists of profiles and suspensions. To calculate the required profile length, you just need to add up the lengths of all four walls.
Take a little more profile just in case. The hangers are fixed to the ceiling at a distance of 100 cm from each other. Calculate by area how many you need them. The material for the frame is calculated according to the area of the room. It must be divided by the area of the material, whatever you choose tiles, strips or cassettes, everything is calculated the same way. Take the material as a reserve, in case something is damaged in the process.

The frame is installed on dowels and screws. They are located at a distance of 40 cm. Do not forget to buy them in the required quantity. If you are installing a ceiling in the bathroom, it is better to buy special screws so that they do not rust later. The installation of rails and cassettes takes place directly into the frame, but the gypsum board sheets are attached with self-tapping screws. Therefore, if you install them, buy more. The slats are attached with tires. In general, when choosing, try to purchase already assembled kits from one manufacturer. So you get rid of the problem that one type of material did not fit the other.

Of the tools, you will need a screwdriver, since you will have to screw a lot of self-tapping screws, it is difficult to do it manually. You will need a punch to make holes for mounting.
In the process, you will need to cut the material. The profile and metal slats can be cut with a grinder, metal scissors or a hacksaw. Plastic can be cut with the same, but it is imperative that the teeth are small. Drywall can be cut with a regular construction knife.

How to install a suspended ceiling

The false ceiling is installed according to the markings. To apply it, you will need a tape measure, a laser or water level, a pencil or rope. When marking, it is better to use a laser level, it will do everything more accurately and quickly. Just place it on a flat surface and adjust the settings as needed. Draw a horizontal line along the lasers.

If there is none, then it's not scary. You can also measure by hand. To do this, measure each corner from floor to ceiling with a tape measure. This is necessary to determine if all your angles are the same. If not, then in the lowest corner at the distance necessary for the structure, set a mark. Then set three more marks in each corner from the floor at the same distance. Connect them together with a rope and draw a line along it with a pencil.
To determine how much to retreat from the main ceiling to the final one, you need to know the length of the lighting fixtures. The width of their body is the required distance.

False ceiling installation

How false ceilings are made. First, install the frame. To do this, you need to fix the guide profile to the wall with self-tapping screws. The carrier is inserted into the guide. Place the holes at a distance of 40 cm. Install hangers and tires. The frame is ready. Further work is already directly with the material. The strips or cassettes are installed in the profile until they click. This fills the entire ceiling. GKL sheets are mounted on self-tapping screws.

In the field of renovation and finishing works, suspended ceilings have reliably taken a high position. This finishing option is durable, practical, has many design solutions in color and shape.

A suspended ceiling is a type of finish that is a structure attached to the main ceiling. It is installed both in public places (airports, train stations, shops, offices, educational institutions, etc.), in enterprises, and in residential premises.

Suspended ceilings are divided into several types, depending on the structure of the frame and the coating material:

  • modular;
    • cassette (tiled, raster);
    • cellular (lattice);
    • rack and pinion;
  • whole;
  • plasterboard;
  • tension.

Cassette type false ceiling

This type of false ceiling consists of a frame and cassettes (tiles). The frame is assembled from an aluminum profile, forming a grid of squares with dimensions of 595x595 mm. Tiles made of aluminum and galvanized are installed on top, their most popular sizes are 600x600 and 600x1200 mm. The surface of the cassettes is matte, glossy or perforated. The most popular colors: shades of gray, white, beige, metallic. To improve thermal insulation, the structure is filled with insulation from the inside.

There are two options for attaching cassettes to the frame: a closed system and an open one. In the first version, the tiles are inserted into the cells thanks to a special fastening that is not visible from the outside. In the second, aluminum guides are visible and frame each tile along the surface.

The number of cassettes, the mounting method and the lighting option are taken into account in advance using the plan.

Installation of the structure

  • tools: assembly knife, tape measure, level, twine, metal scissors, hammer, pliers, pencil, crayon;
  • protective equipment and safety measures;

It is necessary to install the structure in goggles, gloves and overalls, since the ceiling cassettes contain fiberglass, which irritates the skin.

  • elements of the frame system: molding (corner), main and intermediate guides, suspension;
  • mounting. Firstly, it is necessary to install a wall corner, which is fixed to the wall with nails or set on glue at a distance of 400 mm from each other at such a level from the ceiling that there is space for ventilation and lighting. Secondly, they lay an electrical cable and an air outlet. Thirdly, the suspensions are fastened with metal anchors in those places where they intersect with the intermediate guides (see plan). Next, the main guides are mounted, which should abut against the wall corner and connect to each other at a right angle (you can check it using a level). Between the bearing guides, intermediate ones are inserted perpendicularly with a step equal to the width of the ceiling plate. The cassettes are installed from the middle of the ceiling to the wall. At a certain distance from the solid tile (according to the plan), raster or spotlights are mounted.

Cellular type of false ceiling (Grilyato)

This design has found application in the decoration of the ceilings of shopping malls, office and industrial facilities. At the heart of the system is a U-shaped aluminum profile, assembled in the form of cells. The cell size varies from 30x30 to 200x200 mm. The size of one section is standard - 600x600 mm. The system is presented in the most popular colors: white, silver, gilding, chrome and metallics. However, at the request of the client, you can order a different color scheme. There are also several models: "Standard", "Blinds", "Pyramidal".

Having the appearance of a lattice, the Grilyato suspended ceiling still looks like an integral structure and is easy to use: if it is necessary to replace the ventilation or lighting systems located under the suspended ceiling, it is enough to remove the sections in the right place without dismantling the entire structure.

Installation of the structure, its features

At the stage of preparatory work, it is necessary to determine the location of the bearing profile rails, for which the length and width of the ceiling of the building are divided by the length of the rail (1.8 or 2.4 m). Thus, the optimal installation scheme is selected. On the main ceiling, markings are made, marking the attachment points of the rails with suspensions and drilling holes for them. After that, the locations of the lamps are marked out and holes for the suspensions are also made. The final stage of the preparatory work is the installation of the wall corner, which, using self-tapping screws, must be fixed horizontally along the perimeter of the room at the required height from the main ceiling.

The next stage begins with the installation of suspensions, into the loops of which dowels are inserted and fasteners are fixed in the previously made holes in the ceiling with self-tapping screws. After that, the frame is mounted in the form of a lattice of guide rails: from long to short, fastening them with special connecting elements. At the end of the installation of the frame, lighting devices are installed in the right places.

The grill parts are assembled according to the "mom" / "dad" principle and attached to the frame. After checking the accuracy of the installation of the false ceiling with a level, connect the electricity.

Rack type false ceiling

The third version of the modular suspended ceiling, which looks great in offices, showrooms, shops and living spaces (bathrooms, corridors) due to its presentable appearance and variety of installation patterns. In addition to the external beauty, the suspended ceiling has a number of technical advantages: resistance to water, frost and fire; easy DIY installation; installation on curved surfaces.

There are three types of slatted ceilings: open (the presence of 15 mm gaps between the panels in which decorative elements are installed), closed (the presence of 15 mm gaps, designed in the form of a recess and closed with the material of the color of the panels) and gapless (fastening the slats close to each other). The installation is about the same.

Installation of the structure

  1. Tools: puncher, screwdriver, metal scissors, level, tape measure, pencil.
  2. Completing elements and materials: moldings (wall corners), main and intermediate profiles, traverses, tires, fasteners, suspensions, lamps, panels, interpanel inserts (for an open-type system).
  3. Preparatory work. First, an initial marking is made at a minimum height of 35-40 mm from the ceiling along the entire perimeter of the room and the main line is drawn. Then the ceiling itself is marked. The level checks the uniform distance along all planes.
  4. Frame assembly and panel assembly. Initially, a starting profile is installed along the main horizontal line, which must be well fixed with screws inserted into the dowels at a distance of 500 mm from each other. Further, suspensions are mounted on the ceiling and traverses are attached to them. The support rails are installed with a pitch of 1200 mm, and the hangers are fixed in the holes. The required size rail is snapped onto the tire mount, leading the ends into the starting profile. Intermediate profiles are inserted between the main strips. Holes are made in the rails for mounting luminaires and lighting is connected.
