Without such a fixation, the structure will consist, as it were, of two separate parts, without forming a single whole. The reinforcing belt helps the walls resist expansion more effectively.
  • And all these arguments are complemented by the ability to more reliably and simply fix roof structures on the walls.
Most often, a reinforcing belt is made by pouring concrete into a previously constructed formwork. The second option is to lay it out from blocks of different origins. However, it is considered less reliable.


How to do without an armopoyas?

1. Mechanical - using bolts with thread M 12-14 and dowels with special harpoons. After screwing the elements into the base, the dowel parts expand in the cellular blocks of aerated concrete, firmly seizing inside. The negative side of this method is the high cost of hardware.

2. Chemical - special capsules with a polymer resin adhesive are used. This option is more affordable. The essence of the method lies in the fact that the chemical reagent, spreading in the pores of aerated concrete, firmly grabs the metal rod with the wall. A chemical anchor provides a more durable connection than a mechanical one. Such are suitable for use in thin-walled structures, since they do not give expansion. Thus, additional hydro and thermal insulation of aerated concrete is provided. The only drawback is the impossibility of carrying out welding work, if necessary, due to the destruction of the polymer resin under the influence of high temperatures.

The best mounting option without an armored belt and the simplest is steel wire. In this case, the scheme of actions is as follows: 3-4 rows of blocks to the edge of the wall, it folds in half and is threaded under the bricks so that the ends come out freely. The length of the string is calculated with a margin so that it is enough to thread it through the drilled holes in the bar at a distance of 25-30 cm and twist it together as tightly as possible. The number of straps must match the number of rafters.

Anchoring is used in the absence of a reinforcing belt, but is most often used in conjunction with its construction. Then the installation technology will differ by replacing the concreted studs with the installation of anchors with harpoon dowels after the mortar has set or with a tie in a reinforcing cage.

Fastening with studs is performed when the structure and the roof are small and the pressure on the support does not imply large loads. Independently, this process is carried out using bolts or special metal L-shaped or T-shaped rods with a length of at least 1 m and a diameter of 8-24 mm. Such steel elements are embedded in the wall 2-3 rows of masonry to the upper edge.

In other cases, metal studs are rather weak and do not withstand excessive pressure, therefore experts do not advise using them to mount the Mauerlat on the walls of large buildings.

Stages of work:

    To insert studs into aerated concrete, you must drill holes in it with a distance of one to one and a half meters.

    Insert the CPT 12 studs into the aerated concrete.

    Then the hairpin must be filled with a solution.

    At the junction, the Mauerlat is pulled together with staples.

Important: it happens that during the work there are already gables - it is better to remove them. Lay the bars along the edges of the walls, then saw off the rafter legs - in this way, it will be possible to redirect the spacer from the rafter to the bar.

Fastening the Mauerlat with a wire without an armored belt

This method is much simpler than the first two, but less durable and strong - it is well suited where you need to fix the Mauerlat to aerated concrete as quickly as possible. Used in the construction of small, simple buildings. If, in the method with construction studs, an armo-belt is installed if necessary, then everything happens without it in any case. Its advantage is that you only need steel wire for work.

Work process:


    At the stage of erecting walls when laying aerated concrete blocks, you need to push the wire between the joints of the bricks, and wedge it in. This should be done so that its middle is tightly fixed in blocks. It is advisable to start mounting the wire somewhere three to four rows before the completion of the wall.

    The steel wire should be long. Keep in mind that part of it will be under the bricks, and the ends should penetrate into the hole in the beam, braid it, and then they must be tightly tightened and secured. Thus, the Mauerlat will be able to quite confidently hold the entire structure of the rafter system, taking some of the load from the walls onto itself.

    Do not forget that the Mauerlat must be fastened in such a way that there is at least 5 cm free space between the beams and the outer edge of the wall.

    Wooden boards need to be sanded well so that there are no cracks or knots.

    Waterproofing is one of the important points - if it is not laid, then moisture will form between the wood and aerated concrete, and it will ruin the timber very quickly.

    Raw wood is allowed, but must comply with building codes.

As you can see, attaching the Mauerlat to aerated concrete without an armored belt or with it is not so difficult as it might seem at first glance. But in any case, it will be useful to consult with an experienced builder.
