Differential air pressure sensor

The differential air pressure sensor is a safety device, it allows the burner to ignite only after checking the operation of the fan.

If the difference between the pressure of the outgoing combustion products and the incoming air is not equal to the minimum calibration value of the sensor, the sensor contacts will remain open and the gas valve will not open.

In addition, the electrical circuit of the boiler is designed in such a way that if the pressure sensor contacts remain closed when the fan stops, the burner will not start.

The principle of operation of the gas boiler Ferroli Domina F24

Ferroli Domina boiler is suitable for operation on combustible gas of two types: methane or propane (liquefied gas).

The gas mode for operation is selected when ordering or changed at the installation site. The boiler works with advanced systems: electronic regulating, safety and control equipment.

When the room thermostat requests heat, the pump and the burner are switched on. By means of an electronic flame modulation system, the boiler output is gradually changed until the set flow temperature is reached.

If the power required in the heating system is below the minimum boiler power, when the flow temperature exceeds the set value, the burner is switched off and the electronic system allows it to be switched on only after 2 minutes.

When the temperature set on the room thermostat is reached, the burner turns off and the circulation pump continues to run for another 5 minutes to ensure better heat distribution in the system.

If, during the heating phase, hot water is drawn for the water supply system, the heating circuit is automatically switched off and the hot water circuit switched on.

Throughout this stage, the circulation pump of the heating system is at a standstill, and the Ferroli Domina boiler supplies water at a predetermined temperature value.

The device maintains the water temperature of the water supply system constant, even when taking different quantities, by modulating the torch.

Every time after the end of the hot water production of the water supply system, the heating system pump is started for one second in order to prevent it from blocking, especially in summer.

Regulation of boilers Ferroli Domina

Main burner pressure and flow control

The wall-mounted gas boiler Ferroli Domina works on the principle of flame modulation. The system has two fixed pressure values, minimum and maximum, which must be the same as indicated for each type of gas.

The minimum pressure must be adjusted first to ensure correct ignition of the burner. The maximum pressure is then adjusted. Any changes to the minimum pressure will affect the maximum pressure.

Adjusting the minimum and maximum pressure using a Honeywell V K4105G gas valve:

Connect a suitable pressure gauge to the pressure take-off point downstream of the gas valve.

Disconnect pressure compensator.

Remove the protective cap.

Set potentiometer (on main panel) to minimum value (counterclockwise).

Operate the Ferroli Domina boiler in heating mode.

Adjust the minimum pressure by turning the screw clockwise until the desired value is obtained.

Adjust the potentiometer (on the main panel) to the maximum value (clockwise).

Adjust the maximum pressure by turning the screw counterclockwise until the desired value is obtained.

Connect the pressure compensator.

Replace the protective cap.
