Valentina Aleksandrovna Oseeva was born on April 28, 1902 in Kyiv, in the family of a newspaper editor. Since 1919, she studied acting at the Kiev Institute.
In 1923, Valya and her family moved to Moscow, and then to Solnechnogorsk. Valentina had to give up her childhood dream of being on stage.
For 16 years, Valentina Alexandrovna worked as a teacher in government institutions for orphans. During the Second World War, she was evacuated to Bashkiria, where she worked as a teacher in a kindergarten.
Oseeva loved working with children. This was the main reason that the writer completely devoted her work to children's literature. Her first book "Red Cat"
All of Oseeva’s works are instructive in nature. They teach children kindness, courage, a sense of justice, love for the Motherland and respect for family, and show them how to do the right thing.
The main characters of V. Oseeva’s story are three women who met near a well. They began to discuss their sons. One said that her son was dexterous and strong. Another said that her son sings very well. But the third woman remained silent. When asked why she was silent, the woman replied that her son was nothing special.
When the women filled the buckets with water and went to their houses, they were followed by an old man who was resting on a stone not far from the well. He heard the women talking and, apparently, he was interested in how this discussion would end.
The buckets of water were very heavy and it was difficult for the women to carry them. Three boys ran out towards him. One began to show various acrobatic tricks, which the women really liked. Another sang a song so wonderfully that the women listened raptly to his singing. And the third boy simply ran up to his mother, took the buckets of water from her and carried them home.
Then the women asked the old man his opinion about their sons. To this the old man replied that he saw only one son.
This is the summary of the story. The main meaning of the story “Sons” is that the best children are those who are respectful and attentive to their parents.
Oseeva’s story “Sons” teaches us not to boast about our talents and demonstrate them in every possible way to everyone around us, but to be modest and useful to our family.
In the story, I liked the old man, who turned out to be wise and was able to give the correct answer to the women’s question. The woman who said that her son did not stand out in anything special was also right. She raises her son so that he grows up to be a worthy man. From her point of view, helping parents, as well as other family members, is a matter of course for a growing boy. The desire to help elders must be instilled in every child from early childhood.

Conclusion (my opinion)
Every mother wants to be proud of her children, but the main thing is not in their talents and abilities, but in their attitude towards people and, first of all, towards the mother. No personal qualities can replace respectful attitude and attention to loved ones.
