Plastic box for pipes in the bathroom. We make a box for pipes in the bathroom: step-by-step installation instructions

In this material, we will talk about this method of hiding pipes in the bathroom, such as installing a plasterboard or plastic box, and also consider the main points for its installation.

As a rule, pipes for cold and hot water laid in plain sight in the bathroom look at least unattractive. Naturally, the owners of the apartments make every effort to hide them. Currently, several simple ways of solving this problem are practiced, the most common of which is the installation of a duct for pipes in the bathroom.

Before making a pipe box, you need to organize the ability to access the laid pipes after installing the finished structure. This will make it possible to greatly simplify the implementation of possible future work for preventive or repair purposes.

Manufacturing the frame of the box

There can be several designs of boxes for plumbing pipes, but the stages of their installation will in any case be the same.

First you need to decide on the material for the frame and cladding. The frame can be made from an aluminum profile or a wooden lath. Next, the dimensions of the space occupied by the pipes are measured, after which they proceed to the assembly of the frame from sections. The structure is attached to the wall and floor with self-tapping screws.

It is worth noting that in order to facilitate the work, wooden blocks can be installed in advance at the attachment points of the frame.

After collecting and positioning the frame, proceed to facing operations.

Varieties of boxes

Plasterboard box

Most often, the box for closing pipes in the bathroom is made of drywall.

This method consists in performing the following work:

  • First of all, reference lines are drawn on the wall, retreating from the pipes by 3-5 cm on both sides. To keep the lines straight, you can use the building level.
  • Next, a profile of a certain size is set along the drawn lines, and a cut piece of drywall with a thickness of 9.5 mm is fixed to it.
  • Now another piece of the profile is cut off and attached to the outer ends of the blanks. The front part is mounted on the base, which is fastened with self-tapping screws every 25 cm.
  • The docking places are well putty, and then the surface is either painted or revetted with any material that the owner liked the most.

It is worth noting that the place where the drywall adheres to the wall can be hidden by installing a decorative plinth, for example, a corner intended for a bathroom.

Using polystyrene panels as a box

Also, polystyrene panels are quite popular material for finishing bathrooms and toilets. It can be installed without constructing a frame. That is, a plastic polystyrene pipe box is also perfect for solving our problem. These panels have special legs that can be adjusted in height, which is also a big plus when used in rooms with a slightly curved floor. The legs will make it possible to take into account all irregularities, up to 10 cm.

Installation of a plastic pipe box is carried out in the following sequence:

  • An end support is attached to the wall.
  • The edges of the panels, located on the sides and top, are greased with glue, then they are installed and adjusted.
  • Use a wrench to adjust the legs of the panels to obtain the desired height. After that, we can assume that the installation of the box is over.

The finished box made of plastic material is very high quality and durable.

Tiling the box

Ceramic tiles are suitable for cladding a box made of fiberboard, moisture-repellent plywood or drywall. The tiles are most suitable for use in the bathroom, because they are very durable and not afraid of moisture.

In addition, it comes in many shades and textures. The cladding, as a rule, starts from the front side, and only after that they move on to the sidewalls.

Please note that the tiles are attached using special glue.

Marking, creation of a work plan, installation

The box for pipes in the room can be mounted in any place where it is required. The main thing is to make the entire list of calculations in time, even before installation, so that, thanks to a correctly selected place for placing the box, you can use the available space as efficiently as possible.

Even before purchasing all the materials, you need to draw up an estimate and make a markup. To make the calculations as accurate as possible, you need to take into account not only the dimensions of the box, but also the furniture and plumbing that will be installed in the bathroom.

There is nothing difficult in the installation of the box, since this structure is nothing more than a typical frame assembled from profiles for arches, partitions and other similar structures. It is noteworthy that it is even easier to use it in the bathroom, because there is no need to give the frame a complex shape - you only need to make an even rectangle.

In addition, the frame is most often installed in the corner, which makes its installation even easier and slightly cheaper. To mount the box in the corner, you need to buy only three profiles in height from floor to ceiling, and a fourth profile for cutting jumpers. To install the box, you need to fix the profile to the walls, ceiling and floor, and then fasten it together with jumpers to get a strong structure.

It is important to know that, in order to make the fastening of finishing materials easier after installing the box, you can install pieces of wood in the middle of the box.

The last stage: sheathing and cladding of the box

The final stage, which consists in sheathing the box, also cannot be called difficult, because all the markings have already been made, you just need to precisely cut the material and start sheathing the frame with it.

The cladding material must have moisture-repellent qualities, since the bathroom belongs to rooms with excessive humidity. In such conditions, the service life of a large amount of materials is greatly reduced.

It is worth noting that the box must be additionally insulated and sealed so that condensation does not collect on the pipes inside. To do this, you can use polyurethane foam, sealants and other heat-insulating materials.

In the article above, we looked at how to make a pipe box in a bath. We can conclude that it is quite simple to complete all the work, the main thing is to acquire high-quality and correct materials, and to make accurate markings.

When repairing plumbing fixtures, it is often necessary to close cast-iron sewer pipes, which, to put it mildly, do not look the best. One of the most acceptable options is the installation of a box made of metal profiles.
The assembled frame can be sheathed with plasterboard, plastic panels or gypsum fiber sheets. The choice of cladding option depends on the finish of the plumbing room.
If there is a decision to use plastic panels, then the frame is sewn with them immediately, directly onto the metal profile. But as practice suggests, it is better to close the box with moisture resistant plasterboard or gypsum fiber sheet.
The advantages of gypsum materials are obvious. You can glue wallpaper on them, lay tiles or mosaics. And you can finish it with decorative plaster or just paint it. It all depends on the thickness of the wallet and the owner's imagination.
This article will focus on the installation of a box for ceramic tiles. During installation, a moisture resistant gypsum fiber sheet (GVLV) was used. Moreover, it was mounted in two layers to increase rigidity.
Tools required for installation:

  • Rotary hammer and drill with a diameter of 6 mm.
  • Metal scissors.
  • Drill.
  • Drill with a diameter of 4 mm.
  • Countersink with built-in 2.8 or 3 mm drill bit.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Building level or plumb line.
  • Roulette.
  • Blind rivet for aluminum blind rivets.
  • Marker or pencil.
  • Square.
Materials:
  • Guide profile PN 27x28 - 3 pcs.
  • Ceiling profile PP 60x27 - 2 pcs.
  • Aluminum rivets with a diameter of 4 mm - 20 pcs.
  • Dowels with a diameter of 6x40 mm or dowel-nails 6x40 mm - 20 pcs.
  • Self-tapping screws 3.5x25 mm - 100 pcs.
  • Self-tapping screws 3.5x35 mm - 100 pcs.
  • Moisture resistant gypsum fiber sheet - 1 pc.
Operating procedure
First, we find the most protruding sections of the pipes. This is done using a square and a building level. It is necessary to check the vertical inclination of the pipes with a level. Then, attaching the square to the wall, and moving it to the pipe, we mark the points that go beyond the dimensions. This must be done on both sides of the riser.

We retreat three centimeters from the marks made earlier and draw two vertical lines with the help of the level. We measure the distance from floor to ceiling and with metal scissors cut off pieces of the guide profile of the appropriate length.
According to the previously drawn lines, we fix the guide profiles to the wall using dowels with a diameter of 6 mm and self-tapping screws 3.5x35 mm in size. You can also use dowel-nails of the same parameters. It is better to drill holes in concrete walls with a hammer drill, and an impact drill can also be used for brick buildings.

In some bathrooms, the partitions between the bathroom and toilet are made of lightweight concrete. They are thin, only about 60 mm thick. It is necessary to drill the holes very carefully, especially if the tiles are already laid on the other side.
In order not to break through such a wall, you must:
Turn off the hammer mode at the hammer drill and work without it, in the drilling mode.
At the end of the drill, make a stop equal to the length of the self-tapping screw by winding some insulating tape or putting on a drilled wine cork.
Next, you need to draw the dimensions of the box on the ceiling. Applying a square to the walls, draw perpendicular lines along the ceiling with a pencil. The point of intersection of these lines will be the corner of the structure. We measure both distances from the walls using a tape measure.

First, we cut the guide profile to the overall size. Then we cut it at the inflection point and fold it at an angle of 90 degrees, as shown in the figure.

Then we fix it to the ceiling with dowels and self-tapping screws. You can do it easier and mount the corner of the box from two segments.
Now we need to find the bottom corner point of our structure. Cut off the ceiling profile from floor to ceiling. We insert it into the upper corner profile and set it up with a level so that it stands strictly vertically in both planes.

The outer corner of the profile will also be the bottom corner point.

We make the lower corner in the same way as the upper corner profile. It will be shorter due to the presence of horizontal drainage. We fix it to the floor, as well as the upper structure.

Install the cut ceiling profile first in the lower corner and then in the upper one. Then, with a drill with an installed drill with a diameter of 4 mm, we make holes in both profiles. We fix the entire structure with aluminum rivets.

Next, add some stiffening ribs to enhance the bearing capacity of the metal frame. It is necessary to ensure that the profiles are not pulled to the side when drilling holes. It is advisable to mount the stiffening ribs at the joints of the gypsum sheets.

It was the turn of the cladding. We remove the dimensions and cut the gypsum fiber sheet. The box can also be sewn up from pieces. The main thing to remember when installing the second layer of GVLV is that the joints of the first sheet should not coincide with the second.
Cutting a gypsum fiber sheet is a little more difficult than cutting a gypsum board. First, we cut through the GVLV with a knife along the marked line. Then we put a profile or a block under the cut and break the sheet. Gypsum fiber sheet is a rather fragile material and requires careful handling.

We fasten the cut pieces to the profile with self-tapping screws 3.5x25 mm in size. Self-tapping screws for GVLV can be used. But it is better to pre-drill the profile, as it deforms less. You can use a special countersink with a built-in 2.8 or 3 mm drill bit. Then the GVLV and the profile are pierced, and a sweat is additionally formed in the sheet under the head of the self-tapping screw.

The second layer is mounted with longer screws 3.5x35 mm. The step with which the screws are screwed is approximately 150 mm. After installing the GVLV, it is primed for better adhesion of the topcoat with gypsum. If painting or wallpapering is meant, then the gypsum fiber sheet is also putty.

Very often, repair work in the bathroom and toilet is carried out in order to make the image of the room more attractive. The presence of communications sometimes spoils even the most fashionable and stylish renovation. Hide unsightly communications will wash a box made of drywall. A box in a bathroom made of plasterboard with and without doors can be made with your own hands. To do this, you must first study the instructions, after which you can start repair work. For the manufacture of the box, moisture-resistant drywall is best suited.

A plasterboard box will help not only hide communications, but also provide them with reliable protection from unforeseen mechanical rooms. This material allows you to make a convenient structure that will provide free access to the pipes at the right time. In order for the repair work to be successful, you need to carefully prepare for them.

Correctly selected tools are the key to successful repair work. For work you will need: a hammer, tape measure, pencil, level, plumb line, knife.

First of all, the master should draw a markup that will allow him to determine the size of the frame. It is important to note that the profile must not be in contact with the pipes. Allowances should be made for patching drywall sheets.

How to make markup:

  • Determine the top point of the markup, taking into account the floor drawing.
  • Follow a straight line from the top mark to the very bottom.

The success of the entire construction depends on the correctness of the markup. In order to carry out the marking clearly and evenly, it is necessary to use a plumb line and a level. After completing the preparatory work, you can start assembling and installing the frame.

How to make drywall boxes in the bathroom: frame installation

Before assembling the frame, you must select the material for the profile. It is best to use aluminum. This material is ideally combined with drywall, and also has anti-corrosion qualities.

The use of wooden beams when installing the frame will make the work silent and allow you to create additional fasteners.

It is important to use a sufficient number of beams, which is determined depending on the height of the profiles. The bars prevent deformation of the profile under the weight of the drywall sheets. It is important to pay special attention to the process of cutting drywall sheets.

Stages of work:

  • Cut out two sides.
  • Install the side panels.
  • Cut out the third panel.
  • Place the last panel on top of the side sheets.

When securing self-tapping screws, it is important to pay attention to the fact that they need to be cut into the profile. In this case, do not touch the end sidewalls. Do not forget that you need to cut holes in the box that will provide access to communications.

Sheathing and how to make drywall boxes in the bathroom:

Elements for frame sheathing must be solid. The edges of the side pieces must match the frame profiles. The last part serves to close the side panels.

When fixing the elements, it is important to correctly measure and take into account the gaps between the screws, which should not exceed 2.5 cm.

Places for monitoring the health of the pipeline are also made of drywall sheets. Special magnets are used to secure them. The box can be made completely collapsible.

Decorative finishing options:

  • Ceramic tile;
  • Dye;
  • Decorative plaster.

After installing the box, the bathroom will look much more attractive. At the same time, the noise level from the pipes will be significantly reduced. It is important to ensure that the box does not interfere with pipe maintenance.

Technological holes: how to close pipes in the bathroom with drywall:

When forming the box, it is important to leave available meters, valves, valves, reducers and expansion joints. Holes in the material must be cut out large from the size of the doors themselves. The door is fixed after installing the frame.

In order to monitor the drain, the hole must be located in the front of the box.

The door can be placed on the side if it will serve to regulate the state of valves and pipes. The openings for pipes in the box should be made slightly larger. The space between them is filled with foamed polyethylene or tow.

Door components:

  • Frame;
  • GKLV;
  • Push lock;
  • Sealant;
  • Door.

For the manufacture of doors and the box itself, moisture-resistant drywall is used. It is treated with a special impregnation resistant to humid air. GKLV prevents the appearance of fungus and mold. After installation, the box is best tiled with ceramic tiles. Then the bathroom will look stylish, the pipes will be protected from mechanical stress, and the box will be protected from moisture. The bathroom needs a special finish that will not deteriorate from moisture and temperature changes.

We make a box in the bathroom from drywall (video)

The bathroom is filled with pipes that negatively affect the appearance of the room. That is why we close them with a box. It can be made from various types of materials. One of these materials is drywall. It is better if it is moisture resistant. You can make a box yourself, having previously studied the instructions and made the markup. It is important not to forget to leave the inspection doors in the box, so that there is a possibility of constant access to communications in the event of a breakdown.

Pipes left in plain sight are not the best addition to a bathroom interior. In order for the room to have a neat and complete look, communications must be hidden. Moreover, it is advisable to do this in such a way as to have access to the pipe connections, valves, meters and filters. The optimal solution to this problem will be the manufacture of a box. Consider how to make a pipe box in a bathroom from plastic panels.

Advantages of a plastic box

The structure for masking pipes can be made of plastic or. Each of these options is good in its own way, but from the point of view of practicality, the plastic box is in the lead. It has many undeniable advantages:

  • Possibility of quick disassembly without damaging the material. This property of a plastic structure is especially important for pipes docked using fittings and threaded connections, which are not insured against leaks. After the elimination of the breakdown or scheduled maintenance of the pipes, the box can be easily assembled back.
  • No need for further finishing. Plastic panels themselves are already a finishing decorative material, in contrast to drywall, which requires final processing.
  • Resistance to deformation and ease of repair. The plastic used to make the panels is strong and flexible, so it is less likely to be damaged than tiles that can be accidentally broken. Even if one panel is damaged, it is easy to replace it with a new one without damaging the entire structure.
  • Moisture resistance. PVC is not afraid of water, does not rot, nothing will happen to the box, even if it is installed close to the bathtub or gets wet due to condensation formed on the pipes.
  • Easy to install. The installation of the box will take only a few hours and does not require the use of expensive or specific tools.
  • Affordable price. Plastic panels for bathrooms are one of the most inexpensive finishing materials.
  • Spaciousness and compactness. Due to the small thickness of the panels, the plastic structure is very spacious and does not take up much extra space in the bathroom, which is especially important for a small room.

The plastic box is very practical: it can be disassembled and reassembled as many times as necessary.

Preparatory work

Before proceeding with the assembly of the box, you need to carry out several preliminary measures.

  • Examine all pipes that will be hidden. Eliminate defects while communications are in plain sight. If a new pipeline is being installed along the way, try to keep the number of connections to a minimum.
  • Decide what kind of tub will look like in the bathroom. It can hide only a small area where pipes pass, or take up a fairly large area. The advantage of the first option is in saving material and not having to sacrifice free space. When choosing a more voluminous modification, the additional space inside the structure can be adapted for storing things.
  • silicone sealant;
  • PVC skirting boards for masking joints;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • sharp construction knife.

We make the frame of the box

When installing the structure frame, follow the instructions below.

  • On the walls adjacent to the corner, install guides (UD profiles) that will define the dimensions of the box. Don't forget to use the level. To fasten the bearing profiles to the wall, use euro screws and dowels. If the surface is tiled, you can take self-tapping screws for metal 2.5 centimeters long and 3.5 millimeters in diameter. They are twisted into the seams between the tiles.

Tip: To save space in the bathroom, install the profiles closer to the pipes. The minimum distance is 3 centimeters.

  • If the pipes run horizontally, place the profile parallel to the floor and fix it to it.
  • Start shaping the outside corner. Twist the corner post from the two UD profiles. Direct their shelves in different directions at right angles and connect with small screws - "flea".
  • Cut the CD support profile into pieces, the length of which will correspond to the dimensions of the structure. Attach the corner stiffener to the wall. Insert the finished pieces of the profile with one end into the guide installed at the first stage, with the other into the stiffener. Thus, both parts of the corner are connected to the profile.
  • Every 50 centimeters, add the jumpers, which are necessary for the subsequent fastening of the PVC panels.
  • The second corner profile is attached in the same way to another wall.

We sheathe the frame with PVC panels

After the supporting structure is ready, you can start in its sheathing. This must be done in the following sequence:

  • Install the start profile. Carefully, avoiding deformation, secure it with the help of "flea beetles" on the installed rail.
  • Measure a strip of plastic panel to the desired length, cut it off with a sharp knife.
  • Fix one panel in the starting profile, attach the other to the corner profile and install it to the other plane of the box. To connect, use all the same "fleas", or "bugs".
  • Assemble the second side of the box in the same way. Fix the starting profile on the last plastic panel, then fasten it. If you do this with silicone, you can ensure that you can easily dismantle it in the future in the event of an emergency.
  • Cut inspection holes in those places where you need unhindered access to important elements of the pipeline: taps, meters and joints. Using silicone sealant, fix the special hatches in the holes.

When decorating the interior of the bathroom, it is necessary to choose the right finishing materials for the walls and floor, to choose the necessary plumbing fixtures. The design of the premises is often spoiled by various engineering communications, water supply and sewerage. A pipe box in the bathroom will help to hide the elements from prying eyes.

Materials for creating a structure

When arranging a box, there is no need to resort to the help of a specialist, you can do it yourself. At the initial stage of work, a frame is made, which will serve as the basis for fixing the finishing material. The element is made of a galvanized metal profile. The guides are placed vertically or horizontally, then fastened with jumpers.

A wide variety of materials can be used as decoration. They must have the following properties:

  • high levels of moisture resistance (in the bathroom the air humidity is constantly changing, which can lead to the formation of fungus and mold on surfaces);
  • minimal finishing weight and small thickness (thanks to such qualities, the installation of structural elements is simplified);
  • environmental safety of the products used;
  • attractive appearance of the finish.

Several materials meet these requirements.

Pvc

The panels made of polyvinyl chloride have an attractive appearance. Products are present on the construction market in a wide range. A person can choose the finish according to personal preferences, in any case, the panels must fit into the existing interior of the room.

The box in the toilet made of PVC panels has the following advantages:

  • excellent indicators of moisture resistance;
  • strength and durability;
  • minimum panel weight;
  • ease of installation without the presence of special construction tools;
  • ease of care, just wipe the surface with a damp cloth;
  • low material cost;
  • the possibility of repair work: damaged panels are removed from the frame and replaced with new elements;
  • compactness.

A plastic tubing box in the bathroom is ideal for small rooms, because the panels are thin. An alternative to this material is drywall panels.

Moisture resistant drywall

In stores, you can find several options for products. Standard drywall is used in ordinary living spaces, but it is not suitable for a bathroom where high humidity is constantly present. The way out of the situation will be the use of sheets of moisture-resistant drywall. The products are suitable for the device of standard rectangular structures or parts with convex surfaces, but this will require special skills in working with the material.

Moisture resistant sheets can be identified by their green surface. Plates are treated with antiseptic solutions, which prevent the appearance of mold and mildew. Installation of a plasterboard box in bathrooms has the following features:

  • the installation of the elements is much more difficult than fixing the plastic panels;
  • it will not be possible to obtain a collapsible structure, therefore, a small door or hatch must be provided in the box, which will provide unhindered access to the shut-off valves;
  • drywall boards are considered the basis; ceramic tiles or moisture-resistant paint can be used as a finishing material.

Important! To increase the performance characteristics, the surface of the drywall is covered with special impregnations, which additionally protect the material from the harmful effects of moisture.

Waterproof plywood

Products differ from ordinary plywood sheets in a special composition. Natural wood veneer is reliably glued to each other using a special glue, which increases the strength and moisture resistance of the material. A person can choose the required sheet thickness, this parameter ranges from 6 to 40 mm. The main disadvantage of finishing is considered to be the high cost; its surface must be additionally coated with waterproof compounds.

MDF and HDV

Some craftsmen recommend assembling a box from MDF panels. In fact, it is impractical to use this material in the bathroom, because fiberboards absorb moisture well, which will lead to their destruction in the future.

You can close the pipes with HDV plates. Products differ from the previous version in increased density, they better resist moisture. HDV will serve in the bathroom for at least 10 years without losing the initial technical characteristics.

OSB

Oriented strand sandwich boards (OSB) will be an ideal option for finishing the box. They contain synthetic resins and other components that prevent wood from rotting. Several types of slabs can be found on the construction market, but panels with additional impregnation, marking OSB-3 or OSB-4, are best suited for the bathroom.

Choice of design

Utilities can be disguised in several different ways. The most popular box designs:

  • the cabinet is installed above vertical pipes, it can be equipped with shelves for various small utensils and household items;
  • a partition-box is a fairly large structure that is installed along the entire length or height of the room. This option well hides all engineering systems, including sewer pipes, and is ideal for large premises. The box can be used when installing various plumbing elements, it well hides the installation of the toilet or the supply pipes from the sink coming from the mixer. Shelves for storing household chemicals are mounted behind the partition;
  • compact horizontal or vertical ducts are used in small bathrooms. Structures take up a minimum amount of usable space.

Important! Before choosing a specific option, it is necessary to determine the dimensions of the structure, make the appropriate marks on the wall.

Required tools

To make a removable pipe box in the toilet, you will need:

  • galvanized metal profile for the frame;
  • dowel-nails for fixing the guides on the surface of the walls;
  • a laser or ordinary building level is used for marking work;
  • serpyanka or reinforcing tape is used to securely connect drywall sheets;
  • stationery knife;
  • screwdriver and screws or self-tapping screws for fixing finishing materials on the frame;
  • puncher;
  • putty and putty knife;
  • electric jigsaw;
  • metal shears or a grinder with an abrasive disc are used to cut the guides.

You will need a putty and putty knife, a primer for treating drywall surfaces before finishing.

In addition to the specified tool, other devices can also be used, it depends on the specific finishing material.

Creating a drywall box

To create a decorative box from sheets of moisture-resistant drywall, you must adhere to the following step-by-step instructions:

  1. At the preparatory stage of the work, measurements are made on the walls at the locations of the pipes, the distances are transferred to paper, and a detailed plan of the structure is drawn up (opposite the meters and valves, a hole is provided for a hatch).
  2. Marking lines are applied in the bathroom on the surface of the walls and ceiling, if necessary (the minimum distance between the extreme part of the utilities and the inner surface of the box is 3 cm).
  3. They turn to the device of a frame made of a galvanized profile (to fix the guides, dowel-nails are used, for fastening to wooden structures - screws or self-tapping screws).
  4. In the case of a box for masking vertical pipes of engineering systems, first of all, a metal profile is installed along the walls, then on the ceiling. To ensure the rigidity of the structure, jumpers are installed. The box should have a minimum number of bends, this will greatly simplify the installation work.
  5. Sheets of moisture-resistant drywall are cut in such a way that the minimum number of joints is obtained.
  6. Fix the sheets of material with self-tapping screws to the previously installed frame.
  7. A serpyanka (reinforcing mesh) is laid and putty is applied at the corners of the structure and at the joints of the sheets.
  8. Doors or inspection hatch are inserted.

At the final stage of work, they cover the box with a primer and begin finishing work. The structure can be painted or tiled to match the color of the walls in the bathroom.

Collapsible design

If necessary, you can make a collapsible box, which will simplify the repair of engineering communications. In this case, the drywall sheets are fixed with screws at the edge of the frame. The finishing material in the end part is not putty, in the future it will be covered with a metal corner. To disassemble the structure, it is enough to remove the corners and unscrew the screws.

Tiling

To mask utilities, ceramic tiles must be selected according to the color and pattern of the existing finishing material. At the initial stage of work, drywall is covered with a primer, which will contribute to better adhesion of the base surface. They make a preliminary layout of the tile and determine the most advantageous placement of the elements.

Now you need to prepare the glue. The solution is mixed with water according to the manufacturer's instructions. The mixture is applied to the surface with a notched trowel, after which the tiles are laid. To maintain the same gaps between adjacent elements, plastic crosses are used. The position of the ceramic tiles is adjusted with a rubber hammer and a building level.

To trim the tile, a tile cutter or grinder with an abrasive disc is used. During the work, it is necessary to take into account the size of the gap between the tiles. When the glue is dry, the joints are filled with the grout of the chosen color using a rubber trowel and the surface is cleaned from dirt.

Creating a box from plastic panels

The construction of a box made of plastic panels is carried out using the same technology. First, marking lines are applied on the walls of the room. After that, proceed to the installation of the U-shaped and angular profile. When the frame is installed, measurements are taken and the plastic is cut, the panels are inserted into the frame. Plastic products do not need additional processing, they perfectly resist moisture.

Access to communications

For unhindered access to utilities, a water meter and shut-off valves, a door or inspection hatch is provided. Products are made of the same material as the box finish. For ease of use, a furniture handle is attached to the doors. To prevent spontaneous opening, the product is equipped with magnets.

  • when installing a vertical structure, marking lines are applied in the direction from the floor to the ceiling;
  • it is imperative to treat the inner surface of the finishing material with an antifungal agent, antiseptic;
  • it is important to provide for inspection holes in the design for using shut-off valves or monitoring the amount of water used;
  • it is necessary to use a metal profile for arranging a frame for drywall;
  • it is better to fix the sheets with self-tapping screws every 30 cm.

And the last, but very important requirement: with the close proximity of the pipes, it is worth placing them in one box. The minimum distance from the inner surface of the structure to utilities is 3 cm.
