What plant scares off wasps. How to deal with wasps in the country

For owners of summer cottages, it is important to know how to get rid of wasps in the country. The bites of these insects can be not only unpleasant, but also dangerous, especially for people prone to allergies.

When to get rid of wasps

Sometimes you can peacefully coexist with wasps, especially since they destroy pests: various beetles, caterpillars and larvae, including the Colorado potato beetle. But in some cases, the wasps need to be destroyed. These are the cases when they settled:

  • under the roof slope
  • on the balcony
  • in the attic

Anywhere close to a person or paths of movement around the site.

Defending the nest, wasps can attack a person, even if he did not touch the hive, but only came close to it.

Why wasps are dangerous

For allergy sufferers, children, animals, bites can be deadly, especially if they are applied to the head and neck area.

Wasps often feed on landfills, compost heaps, therefore, sitting on food, they can carry bacteria. Wasps attack honey bees, damage fruits (apples, pears, grapes), gnawing holes in them.

How to scare off wasps

If there are not very many insects, you can scare them away. To do this, at the dacha, where nests are most likely to appear, they hang their dummies - the wasps will not settle where there are already competitors. You can buy ready-made, or you can simply fill a paper bag with cellophane bags. Lemon and cloves are also used to scare away. The lemon is cut in half and the clove buds are stuck into it.

How to effectively destroy wasps

To cope with these insects in the country, you need to find out where their nest is. Sometimes it hangs in plain sight, but often it is hidden in inconspicuous places. So wasps hide their hives in nature: in the thick of branches, in the hollows of trees. At the dacha, a hornet's nest can be found:

  • in utility rooms (in attics, in sheds, in a toilet),
  • in hedges,
  • in niches under the slate,
  • behind the facade cladding,
  • in heaps of trash,
  • in the drainpipes.

How to get rid of wasps at the dacha is the safest way? You can use the services of specialists in pest control. However, such a procedure costs a lot and it is not always possible to resort to it.

If finding a hive is not possible, traps can be used. Any sweet liquids, preferably odorous ones, are suitable as baits: a solution of honey, jam, syrup, fermented juice, beer. Liquids must be poured into containers from which insects cannot get out, for example, into bottles.

Good traps come from plastic bottles that have holes 1 cm in diameter through which the wasps can climb in but can't get out.

You can also cut off the top of the bottle, turn it over, and insert it into the bottom to create a funnel. Parts of the bottle are glued together with tape, a sweet liquid is poured inside and hung in places where wasps accumulate in the country. Flies also fall into such traps. The construction looks like this:

You can add an insecticide of gastrointestinal action to the water, such are used against Colorado beetles. You can take melon or watermelon peels and moisten them with an odorless insecticide such as Intavir, Sherpa. The same means can be used to process the compost heap on which the wasps feed.

By making the bait, you can also track the paths of the insects and find the nest.

How to remove the socket

In winter or early spring, it is not difficult to remove the hive, but there are no insects in the nests at this time, and in summer they can return to their old place.

It's another matter if you need to get rid of it in the summer. It is best to do this at night when the insects are not active.

In the spring, when the hives are still small, but there are already wasps in them, it is easier to destroy them.

You can lower the nest into a container of water, that is, bring it to the bottom of the nest and put it on it. After a while (7-10 minutes), the nest will dissolve and the insects will drown. However, holding a bucket or pot of water during this time is difficult.

Another way is to put a thick plastic bag on the nest, squeezing it well at the leg of the hive. After unhooking it from the support, seal the entrance to the bag tightly with tape. Then you can use an aerosol insecticide - for this, cut a small hole in the corner, insert the tube of the cylinder into it and sprinkle the poison inside, then seal the hole and leave the nest for 30 minutes. You can simply leave the sealed bag in a sealed container for a few days. After this, the hive is burned.

You can burn the hive immediately after removal, but this must be done over high heat so that the wasps flying out will immediately burn out, or in a closed barrel.

Attention! Before you deal with wasps in the country, you need to take precautions. Wear thick leather gloves, thick thick clothing that the wasps cannot sting through. Be sure to protect your face and eyes. A beekeeper protective suit is ideal.

After removing the socket, clean the place where it was hanging. For this, the place of attachment is wiped with a solution of potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, used engine oil, kerosene, insecticides. If you do not allow insects to build a nest in the old place, after a while they will fly away and never return.

Wasp insecticides

To destroy or scare away wasps in the country, you can use various chemicals.

The nests are treated with the preparations Moskitol - protection against wasps, Troapsil, Prima, Dichlorvos. Processing is carried out early in the morning or at night. After two days, the insects die or fly away. For aerosol treatment, a rag is wound around the tube to block the entrance to the nest. Then the tube is inserted into the nest, the rag is pressed against the entrance so that the insects do not scatter, the drug is injected. After about 10 minutes, the wasps will die. After that, the nest is removed, the room is ventilated. You can also spray the nest with a strong spray. The video shows the use of the drug "Moskitol - protection against wasps".

There are also preparations with chlorpyrifos microcapsules. Such insecticides are used to treat places where wasps accumulate or make baits using them. The capsules stick to the legs and abdomen of the insect, and it carries them into the nest. These drugs include "Get insect killer", "Empire20", "Smelnet", "Ksulat-C25".

You can spray the nests with insecticides used against pests of the garden and vegetable garden: "Sipaz", "Tsimbush", "Actellik", "Karbofos".

The nest is treated with insecticidal dust such as "Sevin 5 Garden Dust". Crawling along the hive, insects will carry poison inside and die.

If the nest is in an inaccessible place, for example, in a pipe or under a slate, then all the holes through which the wasps fly in and out must be treated with an insecticidal aerosol, and then plugged with rags soaked in Fufanol or Sipaz preparations. On top of the hole you need to plaster. You should not use polyurethane foam - wasps gnaw through it. You can add "Karbofos" to the plaster.

Folk remedies

Repeated treatment with kerosene drives the wasps out of the nest. An empty nest is easy to remove and destroy. For processing, kerosene is poured into a syringe and the hive is watered, being as far away from it as possible.

Fumigation. You can fumigate the nest with coniferous smoke by burning fresh needles. You can add plastic to the needles. The main thing is to direct the stream of smoke towards the hive. Fumigation must also be carried out several times.

At the end of summer, many summer residents and owners of private houses begin to wonder how to scare off wasps? Very often, these insects begin to attack for no apparent reason. Their bites can be quite painful. Getting rid of them is difficult, but there are still effective ways to do this.

Popular scare methods

Before starting the procedure, you should put on tight clothing that would cover all parts of the body. Gloves must be worn on hands. It is good if they are saturated with a smell that repels wasps. It is recommended to protect your face with a mosquito net.

Before you start scaring off wasps, make sure that there are no children or animals nearby. It is best to start as early as possible, before the swarm has reached a huge size. Then it will be more difficult to do it.

You can scare off pests in different ways. One option is to pour boiling water over their nest. You can pour diesel fuel, kerosene or gasoline into the spray bottle and spray the nest with these means. In the fight, household chemicals are also widely used, including Domestos, Dichlorvos and other means.

Folk ways

If you are allergic to chemicals or simply do not want to use them, then you can use natural remedies. For example, it is enough to plant a bitter wormwood on a personal plot. With this plant, you no longer have to think about how to scare the wasps away from the house.

Mint has excellent deterrent qualities. Spread the dried plant bunches in the corners of the house and around the perimeter. Geranium will not only decorate the room, but also scare away insects. Lemon balm has the same properties.

Many summer residents are sure that dummies of a wasp nest are an excellent option for fighting. Insects prefer not to settle next to other houses in order to avoid war between families.

The smell of gasoline, engine oil, and acetic acid is also excellent at repelling pests. So outbuildings in which nests have appeared can be treated with acetic acid.

It is better to start destruction in the evening after darkness falls. This is due to the fact that insects are in search of food during the day, which means that it will be impossible to find them at home. In the evening, the whole swarm is in the nest. In addition, wasps can be quite aggressive during the day. So the measures for their destruction can be dangerous.

It is better to prepare a cloth bag and a bucket of boiling water in advance. If the nest is at a height, then they climb up to it on a stepladder. First, it is placed in a bag, and then this bag is dipped into a bucket of boiling water. As a result, all the wasps in it die.

You can hang bunches of red pepper near the nest. The smell of this plant is believed to repel insects. They may even leave their own home.

Another way is to pour kerosene on the nest and burn it. The method takes a minimum amount of time, but it is worth remembering that this is quite dangerous.

Folk methods have shown themselves quite well in pest control. But still, many people believe that it is impossible to prevent their appearance without special means. If the swarm is still small, then folk remedies will be very good. But if it has reached a significant size, it is no longer possible to do without the purchase of special drugs.

How to scare away insects from the resting place?

It's no secret that wasps are attracted to sugary drinks, fruits, and berries. They can even fly for cookies and sandwiches.

If you are on a picnic, it is a good idea to set up a small trap. It can be located 10-15 meters from the picnic area. To do this, a plastic bottle must be tied to a tree, one-third filled with sweet water. The bottle cap must be tightened very tightly. A little above the water level in the bottle, several holes should be made, half a centimeter in diameter.

Insects will fly to sweet water, but they will not be able to fly out. It is not recommended to use this method on the balcony, because the bottle can attract too many wasps.

In conclusion, I would like to note that if you notice insects that have settled nearby, then you should not hesitate to destroy them. In addition, you should always have anti-allergy products on hand, even if no one in the family has allergies, and ice.

So, it seems, you can't call wasps pests, but they can annoy them just as well. For the time being, they are invisible, but in August they are irresistibly drawn to human habitation - I suspect that to the mouth-watering smells of jam and compotes. And here already one desire remains - to get rid of this misfortune, and, moreover, as quickly and reliably as possible.

My wasps made several small nests under the roof of the house and one huge one in the dressing room. Moreover, the "bath" nest grew literally before our eyes, until it reached a completely frightening size. But while its inhabitants behaved peacefully and quietly, we happily coexisted with them. According to the principle “you don’t touch us - we don’t touch you”. And so it began ...

At first, these insects almost deprived us of our traditional Saturday bath: a couple of weeks ago, they suddenly became aggressive. Then they began to prevail already in the house: it is not pleasant when a dozen wasps are constantly circling around you. The victims also appeared: Alenka stepped on the wasp with her bare foot and was stung; Murzik also "tasted" a wasp sting while trying to catch an insect. It became impossible to postpone the search for methods of struggle further ...

To begin with, I looked into the discussion of this burning issue on our website:

Traps and baits

In practice, I have experienced the simplest traps: containers with any sweet liquid. The conclusions are as follows:
  1. It works - the wasps flock to the bait. But in this way it will hardly be possible to completely eliminate them - only to reduce the "livestock". Well, and, possibly, distract from other "objects".
  2. The container must have a narrow neck, preferably one arranged according to the funnel principle. Insects are taken into jars, bottles, and a bowl of jam, but it is important that it is as difficult for them to get out of there as possible.
  3. The odorless liquid in the trap is preferable to ordinary sweet water - jam, honey, fermented liquids attract insects more.
  4. A thick, viscous bait "catches" wasps better than a liquid one. For example, old jam is suitable (if it is sugar-coated, very thick, dilute it a little with water).
I also found advice from an experienced winegrower: add an ampoule of any gastrointestinal insecticide to this liquid (remedies for the Colorado potato beetle, for example, are suitable). He says that they don't fly far from such a treat.

On sale there is wasp traps factory production, but they act, in general, on the same principle as ordinary home-made ones, so if you have 5-10 minutes of free time, an unnecessary plastic bottle and "very skillful pens", then go for such purchases there will be no need.

But what I plan to look for in stores is a special poison for wasps. Having eaten such a bait, the insect dies after a while. Moreover, having taken a "treat" for its relatives, the wasp brings death to other inhabitants of its nest.

According to summer residents, watermelon (option - melon) peels, poured without a pronounced odor (for example, Intavir), also help well. Such a bait can be left in any suitable place - having eaten a poisonous treat, the wasps die.

In our catalog, which includes offers from many major online stores, you can choose from various wasp control products. .

If the socket is not available ...

... then we have a problem with you. Because without destroying the wasp dwelling, we will not get rid of them completely. And they find a place to live everywhere: in the cracks under the floor, in metal pipes, under the cladding of the walls - in any secluded corner.

If turning your own dwelling to get to the wasp is not part of your plans, try using the "advice of the experienced": those who have come across this situation recommend first lime insects with the help of chemistry (the same dichlorvos is quite suitable, and specialized means - all the more so), and then tightly seal up all the inputs and outputs leading to the nest. Note: polyurethane foam is not good - wasps gnaw it (according to eyewitnesses).

You can remove the wasps from the shelter using a conventional vacuum cleaner, as the author of the following video does:

But this operation, as we can see, is rather unsafe, long and laborious, and the effect of it, according to the "inventor" himself, is very short-lived.

Safety engineering

Going to battle with wasps, it is very important to remember about self-defense. The bites of these insects pose a real threat not only to health, but in some cases to life: if there is a predisposition to allergic reactions (which you may not even guess about for the time being), even one or two “injections” that are harmless for an absolutely healthy person are enough for severe swelling, suffocation and other "pleasures" that send the victim straight to intensive care.

When planning to destroy an inhabited wasp nest, be sure to take care of appropriate equipment: thick cloth clothing (and preferably with a hood), gloves (thick rubber or leather), mosquito net or other face protection device.

If wasps live in the country, be sure to keep suprastin, adrenaline and prednisolone in the first aid kit. Even if you personally and your family members have not been allergic to bites, these precautions may not be superfluous. Ice and tourniquets should also be on hand in case of a bite. Why this is important, and how to use it all, - in the next video. Retelling the recommendations of a professional is a thankless task, so it's better to spend a few minutes watching, this is really important

Do you have wasps in your dacha? What are you doing to get rid of them? What methods of struggle do you consider to be the most reliable and effective?

Wasps are predatory insects that prey on arthropods that can pose a threat to humans. But the neighborhood is also a big danger. Its inhabitants are quite aggressive and often attack humans or domestic animals at the slightest threat to their home. Their bite is very painful and can cause an allergic reaction.

A remedy for wasps should be effective enough and completely solve the problem of eliminating them. Usually, insecticidal preparations are used for these purposes, which can be used to combat other insects.

Buying effective drugs for wasps and hornets is not a problem, in any hardware store there is wide choose a variety of insecticidal agents. But many of them have a strong unpleasant odor, rather low efficiency and pose a danger to humans.

Types of anti-wasp drugs

According to the method of application, preparations against wasps are divided into two types. The first group combines the means that are intended for the manufacture of poisonous traps and baits. They should not have a strong odor, should be highly toxic to insects and do not pose a danger for humans and animals.

The second group of drugs allows you to quickly securely and safely destroy in the nest of all insects. They must meet the following requirements:

  • ease of use (spray or aerosol);
  • high speed of action on insects;
  • low toxicity to humans.

Insecticidal drugs, depending on the form of release, are different. Concentrates to be diluted and subsequently used as a spray. Some are pretty efficient and economical... Concentrates are usually used to prepare poisoned baits, and they are also used to treat wasp nests.

Aerosol products, which are sold ready-made in cylinders with sprayers. They are used to treat hornets' nests.

Insecticidal preparations in the form of a powder, which should be dissolved in water or poured into a bait to obtain a poisonous treat. These can be tools such as borax.

Special gels with insecticides, originally created as good insect baits. It is also worth noting the adhesives to which hornets and wasps simply stick. So, how to scare wasps away from home and what means are considered effective and safe for this? Let's consider the most popular ones.

Geth drug

Such a drug is known as an effective repeller of cockroaches and bedbugs, but it is also used to kill wasps. Geth is practically not dangerous to humans and has almost no smell. It is used both to destroy the wasp nest itself, and as a poisonous substance that is part of the bait.

To eliminate the nest, Geth diluted in water adding 100 ml of the drug to 2 liters of liquid. The resulting product is poured into a large plastic bag and thrown over the wasp's dwelling at night.

If the nest hangs on a tree branch, then the neck of the bag is tightly wrapped with tape, and when it is suspended from the ceiling of a private house, the neck is glued to a flat surface. The bag must be removed after two days, when all adult wasps are dead.

If the nest is located in a hollow of a tree or in the ground, then it is simply fill with solution Geth drug, and the outlet is clogged with a cloth, which is also impregnated with this solution.

To prepare poisoned bait, into kvass, fermented jam or beer add geth in a ratio of 1:10, mix and such a bait with poison is poured into plastic bottles. You can process a piece of meat with an aqueous emulsion of the drug and put it next to the hornet's nest.

Since the Geth remedy does not have a smell, the wasps quite calmly eat the bait based on it. The main disadvantage of such a poison is the rather high price.

Boric acid

Such a remedy is widely used for wasps. It is also used in various baits as a poison against ants and cockroaches. The main advantages of boric acid are:

Most often boric acid added to beer or fermented jam, after which such a poisonous bait is poured into a suitable container. With the help of a suspension of boric acid, you can process pieces of raw meat and put them near the horns' nests.

Dichlorvos remedy

Dichlorvos from wasps began to be used a very long time ago, when there were no other effective remedies. They use it at the present time, treating wasp nests with it. But it will take more than once to spray the insect home.

In one treatment, a large number of wasps die, and in a few days you can destroy the entire aspen family. When using Dichlorvos, you need take security measures.

It is recommended to destroy the nest only at night, wearing thick clothes with long sleeves, a beekeeper's mask and thick gloves. Such a tool is sold in any hardware store. It is inexpensive and usually one cylinder is enough to eliminate a small wasp nest.

Delta Zone... Such a concentrate is an effective drug that has been successfully used against hornets and wasps. A characteristic feature of this drug is the presence of a very faint odor, therefore it is suitable for the preparation of poisonous baits.

Application of Karbofos

Karbofos is very effective against insects and is very inexpensive. It is produced in the form of a powder, as well as in the form of a concentrate, which is used to prepare an aqueous emulsion.

Karbofos is famous for its very pungent and unpleasant odor, therefore, it cannot be used in the composition of poisoned baits, because the smell will simply scare away all insects.

The agent is used in two ways:

  1. 100 ml of the concentrated solution is diluted in a liter of water, the liquid is poured into a large plastic bag, and then pulled from below onto the nest at night.
  2. The wasp nest is sprayed with the resulting emulsion.

Wasp traps and gels

Traps are widely used in the fight against wasps. They are made from ordinary plastic bottles: the upper part is cut off and inserted into the lower half with the neck down. Beer, jam, kvass or mash are poured into the made trap.

To improve efficiency, into the bait add boric acid, Geth, Chlorophos and other odorless insecticidal preparations.

The trap can be used even without the upper part, since the wasps that flew out of it will still die. If a standard design is used, then the presence of an insecticide leads to the death of all insects and it is easy to shake them out of the bottle.

You can get rid of hornets and wasps in a summer cottage or in a house using cockroach gels... Their peculiarity lies in the fact that they are both poison and bait. Gels are very convenient to apply to any surface.

When it comes to wasps, the gel is best. apply to different places near their home, which allows insects to quickly find a poisonous agent. You can use any cockroach gels, for example, Global, Absolute or Fas, which must be spread directly on a sheet of paper and put next to the nest.

Folk remedies

What smell scares wasps away? The most effective aroma is considered to be mint. A strong broth is prepared from it and rubbed with it on the bare parts of the body. But since such a remedy quickly disappears, this procedure is periodically repeated.

A more persistent repeller is mint alcohol based lotion, to which a decoction of mint is added. If you are planning a picnic in nature, then you should stock up on pine or spruce cones, which burn well, emitting smoke, pleasant for humans and not tolerated by bees.

How to scare wasps away from home? Can be next to the site plant special plants, which are considered to repel these insects. This can be, for example, mint, and any of its types, except marsh.

It should not be grown at home as it is capable of releasing toxic compounds. And also well scares off sharp wasps, with lemon "splashes" geranium aroma... Lemon balm has the same qualities. It can be planted in flower pots or in front of the veranda.

Thus, if the wasps are not particularly harmful to humans, then they do not need to be destroyed. They can be beneficial when feeding on pests. But if wasps and hornets behave too aggressively, then they must be destroyed, since their bites are capable cause great harm to a person.

Not every person will like the neighborhood with wasps. The nests of these buzzing insects can be both in a residential building and in an outbuilding. Also, wasps often choose the roofs of balconies and gazebos as a place to build their dwelling, they can live on a loggia or in a closet. Fighting these creatures is not an easy task, since the temperament of the wasps is vindictive, they can attack a person and leave bites on the body.

It is worth noting that the bites of these insects can cause a strong allergic reaction, which can only be eliminated with the help of an immediate visit to the doctor. People who have found a hornet's nest at home should be sure to familiarize themselves with the fact that wasps do not like, as well as methods that will not cause aggression in insects, but will help get rid of them once and for all.

What wasps are afraid of: methods of exposure to insects

An insect such as a wasp can harm not only people, but also the fruits that grow in their backyards, which cause a significant loss of yield. Many people wonder how to get rid of such an unpleasant and unwanted "neighbor"?

It should be said right away that wasps are sensitive to various odors, with the help of which you can both scare away and attract an insect, even if it is in a remote area. It is for this reason that it is highly discouraged in places where there is a danger of colliding with wasps, walking in bright clothes and using perfume. It is also highly undesirable to quench your thirst with sweet soda and feast on fruits.

Places where wasps previously lived must be destroyed without leaving absolutely no traces. If even a small part of the wasp nest remains, the insects will return and settle again in the same place.

Note! Killing the wasps one by one will not do any good, so the main task is to find and completely destroy the nest. A way out of this situation may be to contact the insect control service. If this is not possible, you need to act on your own.

What scares off wasps on the street

Some people believe that liquid smoke is harmful to wasps, and in fact it is. But it is worth knowing that liquid smoke can cause an aggressive reaction in insects, which is why they can bite a person quite hard.

Eliminating the hornets' nest in the summer is not the best option. It is most effective to carry out this procedure in the first half of spring, when the number of individuals in the nest is not yet so high, or with the onset of winter. After the nest has been successfully removed, it must be buried or burned.

The place where the hornet "house" was attached should be cleaned and treated with a solution of manganese or chlorhexidine. In order to prevent the wasps from returning to their previous place of residence, it is recommended to use some deterrent scents, namely:

  • soap - next to the nest, you need to hang a piece of tar or laundry soap, which will give the wasps discomfort and the desire to leave their home;

Important! It is best to use an insecticidal agent in the summer at night to reduce the risk of a possible attack of a frightened wasp on a person. The procedure must be carried out in a tight protective suit, glasses tightly fitting to the face, a respirator and gloves.

  • certain odorous plants - it will not be superfluous to plant wormwood, basil, mint and geranium, the aroma of which insects really do not like;
  • aerosols with pesticides, with which you can destroy an entire hornet's nest in one fell swoop, and the surviving wasps will not come back.

Lemon balm and mint seeds can be planted throughout the garden plot, as well as use concentrated decoctions from these plants. With such a tool, you need to lubricate the skin before going on a country walk or in the garden. But it is worth remembering that the procedure must be done regularly, because the weathering of the mint aroma occurs quickly.

What to do if a hornet's nest is found

On a note! If a hornet's nest is found in the root of a fruit tree, in a garden bed or in a shed, you can get rid of it with the help of smoke. The effectiveness of this method can be greatly increased by setting certain “components” on fire.

  • When the rubber is ignited, the unpleasant odor will be emitted for a long time. In just one night, you can get rid of the aspen family forever. But in order to consolidate the result, it is recommended to repeat the procedure the next day.
  • Throughout the territory of the yard, vegetable garden and garden, fires should be made with the help of pine firewood. For humans, the pine scent is neutral, but insects do not tolerate it. You can calmly continue to do garden work while the fire smokes the pests from the nest.
  • To scare away wasps from tables in gazebos or during a picnic in nature, it is necessary to set fire to spruce, pine shoots, or wormwood twigs.

Note! Occasionally, wasps can settle near pools and artificially created ponds on the site. In order to get rid of them, you must also use insecticides and repellents, as well as flood the nests with hot water.

How to scare the wasps off the table: fighting folk remedies

How to scare wasps off the table

Using table vinegar, you can ward off the wasps by wiping the window frames with it. You need to take 1 teaspoon of vinegar and dilute it in a glass of cold water. In order to achieve a rich aroma, cotton wool must be soaked in concentrated vinegar or pour the product into a saucer.

You can get rid of and drive away the hornet's nest forever with the help of essential oils. The agent must be applied by a dotted method on window frames or left in the openings between the glasses with impregnated cotton wool. Also, the solution should be sprayed on the outer sides of the walls and the area around the wasp nest. The smell of essential oil is pleasant for a person, so you can spray it all over the living room. The aroma of lavender, basil, geranium, mint and lemon balm is very unpleasant for wasps.

Note! The main disadvantage of this method of dealing with wasps is that the smell of ammonia is unpleasant for humans. If a person inhales concentrated vapors, he will start to feel pain and dizzy, and may feel a little nauseous.

The smell of ammonia (ammonia) also effectively repels wasps. This substance has a rather persistent aroma, which insects feel even at a distance of several meters, which does not allow them to approach the living quarters. In order to prepare the solution, you need 1 tbsp. dilute a spoonful of alcohol in 1 liter of water. If you need to get rid of a wasp swarm that is trying to get into your home, you should soak cotton wool with alcohol and leave it on the windowsill.

What the wasp flies to, what smells attract

Interesting! In most cases, in order to get rid of the wasp hive, it is necessary to get rid of the odors that attract the given insect. In the living room, in the open access, there should be no dishes that the wasps can eat, namely apricots, watermelon, melon, apples and grapes.

As for the list of products that attract wasps and are a traditional bait for them, it looks like this:

  • honey and jam;
  • juice and beer;
  • sugar, yeast leaven, syrup;
  • juice and kvass.

Fermented and decaying foods have a strong odor. It is for this reason that they should be disposed of in advance so that their aroma does not attract the wasp family. As for protein food, wasps feed their larvae with it, therefore, in addition to sweets, they are very often attracted to meat products.

On a note! If using all of the above methods and means did not manage to scare off the wasps, you can build a trap from improvised materials, namely from a plastic bottle. The neck of the bottle must be carefully cut off, then turned inward, making a kind of watering can, and fixed with staples. Be sure to put a small amount of bait inside the trap.

In one day, up to 20 individuals can gather in such a watering can, which easily fly there, but can no longer get out. But it is worth remembering that it is necessary to fight insects only if they pose a danger to human health.

Before you start destroying the nest, you need to familiarize yourself with what wasps and bees are afraid of. Fighting wasps with repelling odors is far from the only way to eliminate insects. You can also use electronic layouts of hives, inside which a wasp and bee repeller is built in, which will scare and prevent insects from reappearing near the house.
