What to make glowing water from. How to make a glowing liquid from available tools: recipes with photos and videos

Some time ago, a video appeared on the Internet that described how to create glowing water. In the comments, they heatedly argued: some argued that it was possible, others categorically denied everything that was happening on the screen. After long watching videos illustrating such experiments, many had a desire to dispel all the myths.

First myth. The glowing liquid is still drinking water. It is a pity for those people who are misled into ensuring that this liquid cannot harm the body. You should not believe this, even if someone proves it on their own experience. Indeed, at that moment there was no one next to them, and you can say anything you want. During the reaction, chemical compounds can be formed in the vessels, which will adversely affect your health!

The second myth is associated with the statement that a glowing liquid can be made with your own hands using only hydrogen peroxide, soda and vinegar. Each of us went to school, and if we did not skip chemistry lessons, then we can clearly answer that nothing like this can happen. The baking soda will react with acetic acid, resulting in salt and water.

Glowing water is also obtained using a specific lemonade. For those looking to give it a try, here's a recipe from the author of the very first video. We need:

  • Mountain Dew food drink, widespread in Russia;
  • baking soda, which can be found at any grocery store;
  • hydrogen peroxide, which can be purchased at every pharmacy without a prescription.

So, you need to leave part of the drink in the bottle. Then soda is added to the lemonade at the tip of a teaspoon and 3 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide are poured into this solution. Close the bottle and shake well. Of course, there is no guarantee or certainty that the desired reaction will occur.

There are real recipes for making glowing liquid for those who still want to achieve results. In this case, the chances of achieving the desired effect are much greater. But if the liquid after the experiment does not glow in the dark, then the wrong components were probably taken.

This recipe includes substances used in chemistry. All information below is for informational purposes only! The recipe is based on the substance luminol, the distinctive property of which is that it gives a blue glow in aggressive environments.

Diy recipe for glowing liquid

To make a glowing liquid with your own hands, you will need:

  • 2-3 g of luminol;
  • 80 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide;
  • 100 ml of water;
  • 3 g of copper sulfate (ferric chloride or red blood salt);
  • 10 ml of caustic soda;
  • fluorescent dye.

To obtain a luminous substance, it is necessary to pour a luminophore into the vessel and add water to dissolve it. Then pour hydrogen peroxide into the solution and add copper sulfate. To start the reaction, it remains to add the last component - caustic soda. After that, the liquid will begin to emit a blue glow. You can use fluorescent dyes to achieve a variety of color shades.

Finally, we want to wish you success in your experiments and remind you of safety measures. All substances that are used in the experiment are chemical, which means that they can cause poisoning or even lead to tragedy! Therefore, do not use dishes that are intended for food in the experiment. If such dishes have been used, then they must be thoroughly washed, and it is better to throw them out altogether. Do not neglect your health and the health of your loved ones!

Sometimes it is not necessary to spend money on expensive fixtures to create an unusual atmosphere at home. Glowing water will help you to surprise and delight your pets, which is easy to make with your own hands and simply pour into a jar or bottle, thus obtaining a suitable "candlestick". It turns out that the evening atmosphere in the house becomes truly interesting and even magical, it is enough just to have at hand some container and ordinary water, which we can easily turn into fluorescent - this is the name of a liquid with a light-accumulating effect. There are many recipes for making colored glowing water at home, making this substance available even for people without access to expensive chemicals. In this article, we will consider several options for creating a fluorescent liquid - sometimes it is called neon, because neon tends to glow - which will make it possible to make it from a variety of materials.

Before making luminol at home, it is important to read the rules that will help maximally secure the production process, and prepare the necessary things in advance. We'll have to remember the safety instructions from chemistry lessons, because when creating glowing water, you will need to contact with various chemicals.

First of all, you will need to protect yourself with special clothing. This will help avoid direct contact with reagents and reduce the risk of injury while handling them. Purchase special gloves and glasses, and wear only cotton clothing when making fluorescent water. Some chemicals can be aggressive if they accidentally come into contact with clothing and synthetic fibers.

Prepare special dishes, in which all chemical processes will be carried out. As soon as the experiment is over, these dishes will have to be disposed of, since the smallest particles of the used reagent may remain on it, and the next experiment carried out in the same containers may result in adverse consequences. Remember that it is dangerous to let young children near reagents, so try to keep them away from the experience or make sure the children are sufficiently knowledgeable about safety issues.

Making luminol

As noted earlier, there are several methods that you can follow to make a glowing liquid. The choice of the recipe depends on the substances that make up the luminol. There are options for making an original fluorescent liquid using chemical reagents, and those that tell you how to make a luminous liquid from available tools.

Glowing water without luminol

Luminol is the main element for creating a glowing liquid. A substance, getting into a neutral or acidified environment, activates its properties and begins to glow with a light blue color. It is thanks to this substance that the focus with fluorescent water works. True, luminol is an expensive and hard-to-find component that can only be found in specialized stores, so not every person decides to purchase it just for the sake of experimenting with luminous water. But if there is no opportunity to buy a chemical, but you want to conduct an experiment, you can use the following instructions, which will tell you how to make glowing water without luminol.

Getting liquid is easy enough. To do this, you need to stock up on water, hydrogen peroxide, salt, vinegar and do not forget about precautions. While the components may seem harmless, it's best not to take risks and ensure you are as safe as possible. The water used in the experiment should be carbonated.

  1. Take a container with pre-poured soda (preferably a container with a lid), and then add salt to it in the amount of no more than a teaspoon.
  2. The next item is vinegar. Add no more than three caps to the liquid.
  3. Pour the final component, hydrogen peroxide, into the container. The volume of the substance should not exceed three teaspoons.
  4. Pay attention to the condition of the resulting fluid. If the ingredients have been added in the correct sequence and in the correct amount, it should start to fizz.
  5. Close the container well with a lid and, holding it in your hands, stir. This must be done with great care, so the step can take up to fifteen minutes.
  6. From a container, pour the resulting liquid into a glass or jar to see its glow.

Liquid using luminol

The original recipe for fluorescent water is to add a special chemical component to the liquid - luminol. If you want to use chemical reagents in the process of the experiment, remember about safety measures and warn yourself against all adverse consequences that may occur. To achieve the desired effect, follow the directions below.

Glowing water based on vitamin B

This is the most harmless fluorescent liquid recipe and is more useful for filling large containers. For example, you can fill a bath with such water and, turning off the light, arrange for yourself or your children a session of enjoying water procedures with backlighting. Below is the instruction on how how to make glowing liquid at home using vitamin B.

  1. Fill the bath, but keep in mind that the amount of water collected should not exceed fifteen liters.
  2. Dilute water with B vitamins purchased from a pharmacy. For the powder version of the component, use 15 cans, and for the liquid version - 15 ampoules.
  3. Illuminate the bathroom with a fluorescent lamp to show the properties of the vitamin.

Bathing in such a bathroom, you need to observe one important precaution and in no case drink the resulting liquid. When you feel that drops of luminous water have got into your mouth, immediately rinse it well with ordinary water.

Backlit clothing

On the basis of a fluorescent liquid, you can make your clothes glow in the dark... Below is a scheme for obtaining glowing laces, but you can dye any other piece of clothing in the same way. The recipe for making such things is simple, does not require special costs and purchases of chemicals.

Glowing water- an excellent material for home decoration. Having made several multi-colored options for such a liquid, you can pour them into jars and arrange them around the room. Luminol will be the most suitable option for romantic dates and simple room decor. How to do it - watch the video.

In this article, you are the best options with which you can easily and quickly (and most importantly - safely for yourself and others!) You can make a phosphor with your own hands.

First, we will tell you how to make a luminescent liquid at home from improvised means that you can easily find at home or purchase at a nearby outlet.

So, let's start with the easiest way:

Recipe 1

Today, fluorescent markers or felt-tip pens can be easily purchased. To make sure that the marker is luminous, draw some bold lines on the piece of paper that will glow in a shaded area. It remains to pull the rod with fiber out of the marker body and rinse it thoroughly in water.

Recipe 2

how to make glowing paint without using luminol? Everything is very simple!

Simple improvised means - boric acid and coniferous concentrate. If these funds are not at hand, then at the nearest pharmacy you will definitely buy them for ridiculous money;

Now pour 50 ml of pure water into an aluminum container (for example, into a ladle or scoop) and dissolve 3 g in it. pine needles concentrate. Add a pinch of boric acid to another small container and add the solution of coniferous concentrate little by little;

Gently mix everything and continue to add the solution drop by drop. We hold the container over the fire and bring the mixture to a boil;

After boiling, we wait until the mixture cools down, add another solution of pine needles concentrate with water. Boil the mixture again until a yellowish liquid is formed - a phosphor. This handmade phosphor will glow beautifully in the dark and can be used as a paint for decorating various interior objects.

HOW TO MAKE LUMINOUS LACE IN HOME CONDITIONS?

Method 1:

What we need: a tall glass or flask, 300 ml of water, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 3% hydrogen peroxide (2 teaspoons), thick cotton laces.

First you need to pour soda into a glass of water, close the lid and mix well. Then open the lid and pour in the peroxide. Close the lid tightly again and mix everything thoroughly. Then you need to put laces in a glass with a mixture and hold them there for 10 minutes.

Method 2:

What we need:

150 ml of pure water;

5 gr. luminol (sold in specialized stores with chemicals) or 200 gr. phosphor (this ingredient easily converts energy into glow);

90 ml hydrogen peroxide 3% (usually sold in any pharmacy);

15 ml of sodium hydroxide solution;

3 g of copper sulfate;

Ruben or any other fluorescent dye.

Pour the prepared luminol into a tall glass flask with water (yellow powder, glowing with a bluish color in neutral or acidic solutions). Mix thoroughly.

Now slowly pour in the peroxide and mix the solution again;

Add caustic soda solution and mix everything;

It remains to add copper sulfate and a fluorescent dye to the mixture;

Mix everything thoroughly and dip the laces in the liquid. After 15 minutes you can take them out. They will glow in the dark.

Method 3:

The surest way to make yourself not just slightly luminescent laces, but laces that glow in the dark. A great feature for lovers of dancing in nightclubs!

But this method will appeal not to amateur chemists, but to lovers of electric lotions and all sorts of fashionable devices. The construction for making luminous laces is as follows - we make a miniature electronic unit with a thin LED. This LED will run along the center of the light-transmitting silicone string. The unit will be recharged from the battery. But the lacing should be loose - if you pull the laces too tight on your shoes, you will damage the LEDs.
