How to connect a bosch dishwasher drain. Self-connection and installation of a Bosch dishwasher

In this article we will tell you how to choose the right place to install the dishwasher and in what order to connect it. After the dishwasher is delivered to your home, you can immediately connect and start it yourself, without overpaying for the services of a specialist.

How to install a dishwasher in the kitchen

There are two options for installing the PMM: in a finished kitchen or in a pre-designated place in the kitchen unit. Dishwashers vary in type and size:

  • Compact. Holds from 3 to 5 sets of dishes. Dimensions 50x60x50 cm. Installed on the countertop or under the sink.

  • Narrow. Width 45 cm, capacity from 6 to 10 sets. Can be fully or partially built-in.

  • Full size. Dimensions 65x65x90 cm, holds from 10 to 15 sets of dishes. Can be built-in or free-standing.

Typically, manufacturers provide space for placing equipment in any kitchen set. To do this, take the dimensions of a narrow dishwasher and add 5-10 cm to them on all sides. If your kit does not include a special cabinet, then it is better to choose a freestanding machine. You can install it in any convenient place, even between the cabinets.

When choosing a freestanding PMM, you need to take into account that the appearance of the cabinet is combined with the design of the kitchen.

If you have prepared drawings in advance for placing a Samsung, Miele or other brand dishwasher, there will be no problems with installation. Otherwise, for embedding, select a cabinet close to the sink. Please note that the distance from the PMM body to the rear wall must be at least 5 cm for normal ventilation.

If you have a small family and the kitchen area does not allow you to install a full-size model, choose a tabletop option. You can put it under the sink, and the connection rules do not differ from other models.

  • Before purchasing built-in appliances, measure the dimensions of your kitchen cabinet.
  • The legs of the dishwasher can be adjusted in height. Use a level to position the machine level. Some Hotpoint Ariston and Whirlpool models are very sensitive to a tilt of even 2 degrees. This may affect their future work.
  • Mount the machine near a sink. This will make it easier to connect the drain and water without having to extend the hoses. Experts say that extending the hoses can lead to leakage and will also put more strain on the drain pump.

  • When built into furniture, install a metal plate under the tabletop to protect the wood from steam. In built-in models, the plate is included.

Please refer to the instruction manual. It shows the procedure for installing and installing the dishwasher. The kit includes templates for hanging the door.

  • To connect equipment to the network, a separate moisture-resistant socket is used. Do not connect via extension cords or tees.

Self-connection of the dishwasher

It is recommended to immediately install the machine on site and then proceed with the connection. But in the case of a built-in model, it is more convenient to first connect the hoses, and then mount the machine in a niche or cabinet. How to install a built-in PMM, read our separate article.

What you need to connect

Accessories:

  • Euro socket with moisture-resistant housing and grounding;
  • copper three-core cable (for organizing wiring);
  • stabilizer;
  • brass tee with shut-off valve;
  • coupling;
  • corner valve;
  • extension cord and additional hose;
  • siphon with two terminals (for connecting a dishwasher and washing machine at the same time);
  • Aquastop hose (if not available);
  • fum tape for sealing connections;
  • filter;
  • clamps, gaskets.

Tools:

  • pliers;
  • screwdriver;
  • wrench;
  • level.

Organization of electrical wiring

The dishwasher cord is specially made short. A European-type plug can be connected to a special socket, which is located no higher than 45 cm from the floor.

Replacing the plug on a dishwasher yourself will void the warranty.

How to properly organize the electrical connection:

  1. Drill a channel in the wall and lay a copper wire.
  2. Organize a moisture-resistant outlet with grounding.
  3. Connect the outlet through a 16-amp circuit breaker. For safety, it is recommended to install a voltage stabilizer. How to choose a stabilizer for a dishwasher, read in a separate article.

Plumbing works

You know how to install and connect the electrical parts of a machine. Any model of PMM Korting, Hansa, Gorenje, Beko, Ikea, Ariston is connected to the water supply in the same way. The simplest solution would be to connect through a mixer. But if you install the equipment far from the sink, then the method of tapping into a cold water pipe is suitable.

To connect to a water pipe:

  1. Using a grinder, cut a piece of pipe.
  2. Install the release clutch.
  3. Screw a faucet with a shut-off valve onto the coupling.
  4. Connect the dishwasher hose to the faucet outlet.

Through the mixer:

  1. Disconnect the faucet hose from the pipe outlet.
  2. Install the brass tee.
  3. Connect a mixer to one terminal.
  4. To the other is a coarse filter and the end of the inlet hose.

Now start draining the water.

Drainage works

Where should I connect the drain? There are also two options to choose from:

  • Directly to the sewer.
  • Through a siphon.

To connect to the sewer, just install an adapter on the output, to which you can connect the drain hose of the dishwasher and washing machine. The connections are carefully sealed.

When installing through a siphon:

  • Remove the old one and install a new siphon.
  • Connect the dishwasher drain hose to the outlet.
  • Be sure to secure the connection with a clamp. If the pressure is too strong, the hose may be torn out of place, causing a leak.

Maintain the correct distance and bend of the hose when draining. This will help avoid the siphon effect (see diagram below).

As you can see, you can organize the installation of PMM “Hansa”, “Gorenie” and other brands yourself. When the work is completed, run a test program without utensils to check the strength of the connections and the operation of the components. How to run the dishwasher for the first time, read the article.

The video will help you install the dishwasher yourself:

Dishwashers are installed in the kitchen, not far from the sink. This is no accident. In this case, connecting the dishwasher is the simplest - the sewerage system and water supply are located nearby, and the socket for a permanent connection still needs to be installed separately.

The peculiarity of installing a dishwasher is that it must be positioned perfectly level. The maximum permissible deviation from the horizontal is 2°. If this requirement is not met, the dishes may not be washed well enough. Therefore, the first step after unpacking is to install it in place and level it. For this purpose, the design includes height-adjustable legs. We take a building level, place it on the car, and ensure that it stands level relative to the horizontal. Then we check the verticals, if everything was done correctly, and there should be no deviations here.

Power Requirements

Dishwashers, even economical ones, consume a considerable amount of electricity. For example:

  • for BOSCH SPS 40E12 (class A), maximum power consumption 2.4 kW;
  • CANDY CDCF 6 07 (class A) consumption - 1.3 kW.
  • SIEMENS SR24E205 (class A) requires a maximum of 2.4 kW;
  • ELECTROLUX ESF 9420 LOW - can consume 2.1 kW.
  • WHIRLPOOL ADP 7570 IX - power consumption 2.1 kW.

With high power consumption, one of the conditions for normal operation is a separate power supply line with an installed circuit breaker and RCD. A separate line will also reduce the impact of power surges on the electronics that control the operation of the unit. They are felt whenever the refrigerator, freezer or microwave is turned on/off. The control board reacts very poorly and keeps jumping, and replacing it (almost no one repairs it, they just replace it) costs a lot of money. If you want the equipment to work for a long time and without problems, draw a separate line from the shield.

As you understand, the average power of a dishwasher is 2.1-2.4 kW. First, select the circuit breaker. It must be selected based on current, but the characteristics rarely contain this value, so you have to calculate the current based on power. For example, the power of a dishwasher is 2.4 kW. We find the maximum current: 2400 W / 220 V = 10.9 A.

Circuit breakers come in the following ratings - 6 A, 10 A, 16 A, 20 A (there are also more powerful ones, but they are definitely not needed for this equipment). For this example, a 16 A circuit breaker is required. It is better not to take a 10 A circuit breaker - when turned on at full power it will be knocked out. Therefore, we take the nearest larger value, and this is 16 A.

From the input of the circuit breaker, the phase is supplied to the RCD. It protects against leaks due to insulation breakdown, and will also work if someone touches live parts. It is also selected by current, but it must be a step higher than the automatic one. For this example, this is 25 A (RCDs come in 10 A, 16 A, 25 A, 32 A). The second parameter by which this type of protection is selected is leakage current. For lines to which only one device is connected, the leakage current is 10 mA. Both of these devices are installed in .

The next parameter that you need to decide on is the cross-section of the cable cores. Copper wires have recently been used for wiring, as they are easier to work with. For devices with a power of up to 4.1 kW, a cross-section of 1.5 square meters is sufficient. mm (more is possible, less is not possible).

Now about what kind of sheath the cable should be in. It depends on the material of the walls along which the power supply line will be laid:

One more point: dishwasher sockets must be grounded. This is a mandatory requirement to maintain the warranty. Also, when choosing, pay attention to the voltage for which it is designed. For branded copies this parameter is written on the back side. If there is no such inscription, this is cheap Chinese consumer goods, and it’s better not to take risks.

Where and how to remove the drain

The next step is connecting the dishwasher to the sewer. The drain hose is located on the rear wall of the housing; it is about 1.5-2 meters long. If necessary, it can be extended to a similar one of the same diameter, but the total length cannot be more than 5 meters (see the operating instructions for details). This distance can be pumped by pumps that operate to remove water.

The best option is to have a separate sewer outlet. Then everything is simple, a rubber coupling is inserted into the pipe, ensuring a tight fixation of the corrugation, and the end of the drain hose is tucked into it. If it is closed with a plug, remove it. But this option is rather an exception. More often the dishwasher is connected through the sink siphon or through the outlet into the sink.

If the sewer outlet is cast iron, there are special rubber couplings for a sealed transition to plastic. You will need to know the diameters of your outlet and plastic tee. Accordingly, the adapter is installed in a cast iron pipe. You just need to put it there without any additional funds. Insert a plastic fork into the coupling. A sink is usually connected to the vertically directed outlet, and a dishwasher is connected to the one at an angle.

For special siphons for connecting a dishwasher, the outlet is made so that the drain hose can be pulled over it. For reliability, it can be tightened with a clamp.

The connection of the dishwasher to the sewer should be such as to avoid the formation of loops and creases, even when everything is pushed into place. At the same time, the corrugation should not be allowed to approach from the side - there should be a slight upward bend. This eliminates the possibility of drainage from the siphon or tee getting into the machine.

To fix the corrugated hose in a given position, there are special plastic couplings. They are put on the corrugation from below and hold it securely.

Water connection

The dishwasher is connected to the water supply using a standard hose, which is also located on the back of the housing. It is easy to recognize by its rather large nozzle. This is an overflow blocker. It is needed for correct operation and it is not recommended to remove it.

Now about what kind of water to connect the dishwasher to. You can connect to a hot one only in one case - if your unit supports such a function (indicated in the description) and you do not have a DHW meter. In all other cases, it is better to fill the machine with cold water. The main motive for connecting to a hot water supply is to save electricity. If the water is hot, there is no need to heat it. This is true, but this solution has disadvantages:

You can connect to the water supply at any point where there is a detachable connection. For example, in the place where a flexible hose is connected to a sink. They unscrew it, install a tee, then a ball valve (or a tee with a ball valve at once). On the part that connects the dishwasher to the tap, on the second outlet there is a flexible hose to the sink mixer.

Check before starting

Before pushing the machine into place, check the tightness of the connections. To do this, you need to open the water supply (turn the tap to which the dishwasher inlet hose is connected). If there are no leaks anywhere, you can push it in.

The happy owners of a brand new dishwasher, immediately after delivering their purchase home, are puzzled by the question of how to connect the dishwasher. There are two ways to solve the problem: call a specialist or try to cope on your own. If you decide to take the second, more complicated path, our article will help solve the problem.

Main stages

The main steps for connecting a dishwasher are:

  • installation of a separate outlet and supply of power to it;
  • organization of separate water supply;
  • device for draining water into the sewer;
  • Checking the performance of the dishwasher.

This dishwasher wiring diagram shows mandatory and necessary work that can be carried out in any order convenient for you. Let's look at each stage of the work in more detail.

Connecting to networks

Power supply

The simplest solution for connecting a dishwasher to electricity is to plug it into an outlet specially prepared for this during repairs. If there is no such outlet, you will have to spend some additional effort to provide the new machine with energy.

Connecting a dishwasher with your own hands is possible subject to certain safety requirements listed below:

  • Since the power consumed by the dishwasher is quite high, the use of tees and extension cords for connection can cause damage to the dishwasher and even lead to a fire.
  • The machine must not be connected to an outlet intended for an electric stove.
  • For the device, a wire with a diameter of at least 2 mm should be connected from the electrical panel to the required location of the socket. A 16 A safety switch is installed in the electrical panel, which will automatically turn off the power supply if the maximum permissible network load level is exceeded.

Connecting the wires: connect black to black (“phase”), white to white (“zero”) and green (“ground”) to green.

  • When connecting the dishwasher yourself, you should remember that to ensure the machine is truly grounded, the cable connected to the outlet must be three-wire.

Pro tip: Never “ground” electrical appliances to heating or gas pipes, or to water supply pipes! It is very dangerous!

Water supply

Water is supplied to the dishwasher through a special outlet installed for this purpose.

The connection is made as follows:

  • A filter is installed on the outlet for supplying water to the dishwasher to retain sand and rust.
  • If the machine does not provide protection against accidental leaks, when connecting the dishwasher to water, you should install a shut-off valve directly in front of the filter. It will prevent water from getting into the dishwasher from the water supply, which can lead to flooding not only of your apartment, but also of your neighbors on the lower floors.

Pro tip: In order to save yourself from the need to close the shut-off valve after each dishwashing, you can install additional protection for the machine: Aqua-Control, Aqua Stop or another similar device.

  • If the hoses included with the dishwasher are not long enough to connect to the water supply system, they can be extended.
  • Some dishwasher models provide the ability to connect it to hot water. This allows you to save energy on heating water while the machine is operating.

Pro tip: For Russian conditions, connecting to hot water in multi-storey buildings with a centralized water supply is undesirable, since it contains special additives that prevent the formation of rust in pipes. This may adversely affect the operation of the dishwasher.

Organization of water drainage (connection to sewerage)

Connecting the dishwasher drain to the sewer system is a process that requires no less care than the water supply device. Let's look at it in more detail:

  1. The simplest way is to drain the water through a siphon equipped with an additional outlet and a special valve that prevents water from entering the dishwasher from the sewer or sink.
  2. Additional protection against sewer water entering the dishwasher can be provided by the correct location of the drain hose:
  • the hose leaving the machine should be secured to the wall or kitchen furniture at a height of up to 60 cm above the point where it enters the sewer;
  • then bend the hose so that water from the machine flows by gravity into the siphon.
  1. Before connecting the dishwasher drain, make sure that the standard hose (1.5 m) is long enough. If necessary, the length of the hose can be increased, but not more than twice. A longer water path will affect the operation of the water pump, creating additional stress.

Functionality check

After installing the outlet for connecting the dishwasher and connecting it to the water supply and sewerage system, you need to conduct a dry test of your new item. You should check:

  • the speed of pouring water into the machine;
  • heating the incoming water;
  • operation of the dish drying mode.

The operation of all modes of the machine should be checked without dishes, but using detergent and reducing salt in accordance with its operating instructions. You should also carefully check all connections of pipes and hoses for leaks again.

After you have succeeded in connecting the dishwasher yourself, following all the recommendations in the installation manual, you can install the kitchen furniture that was moved during operation into its place, and attach the closing panel to the new machine.

To connect the dishwasher, it is better to contact a qualified technician.

But if the owner decides to install a Siemens or Bosch unit with his own hands, then he will have to work hard, especially since each manufacturer of kitchen appliances has its own instructions in this regard.

The connection diagram for the dishwasher is, in most cases, the same. However, there are some rules that must be strictly followed.

Each dishwasher model (both Ariston and Siemens) includes instructions. What is stated in it can only be understood by a true specialist.

Therefore, we will consider step by step how to independently connect kitchen appliances of this type:

  • We decide on the place where the dishwasher will be located;
  • Taking into account the power of the device, we solve wiring problems;
  • We stock up on consumables and tools;
  • We install a dishwasher;

Determining the location for installing the washing machine

The best option for installing a washing machine in small kitchens is considered to be under the sink or next to it.

If the kitchen area allows, then the unit can be connected by placing the equipment in a niche or on a table, even three meters from the sink.

The main thing is that the selected location does not become a problem in the process of connecting the device to water supply, power supply and sewerage.

Since, regardless of the fact that the device is equipped with protective thermal insulation, the hot air emanating from the oven will gradually have a destructive effect on the sealing elements of the dishwasher.

Perhaps even on her electronic panel. The optimal distance between these groups of equipment, according to the manufacturer’s advice, should be about 40 cm, but not less than 15 cm.

Also, you should not connect a built-in dishwashing machine by installing it in the outermost floor cabinet.

In this case, the equipment will be fixed only on one side, which will eventually affect its operation.

The device must be well secured, which is possible when installing it between two bedside tables or cabinets. Next, it is necessary to prudently solve the problem of the dishwasher façade.

Dishwasher front

Once the location for the washing machine has been chosen, it is necessary to decide on the installation of the façade.

With the help of a beautiful façade you can hide only part of the dishwasher or completely hide it in a cabinet. The solution to this issue depends on the model of the device.

There are three types of dishwashers:

  • free-standing;
  • partially built-in;
  • fully built-in.

In this case, complete arrangement of the furniture facade will be needed only for the fully built-in model.

In order to maintain the style of the interior, it can be hidden in the kitchen cabinet behind the doors.

The built-in model partially has an open control panel; the rest of the device requires a furniture façade.

Freestanding dishwashers have a stunning design, so when planning to connect a countertop dishwasher, there is no point in hiding the model.

The fully built-in model is installed in a niche prepared for it. By adjusting the base part of the device, adjust its height, which should match the level of the table top.

In washing machines of famous brands Siemens or Bosch, the height is adjusted by screws located on the front.

The kit of fully built-in dishwashers from Siemens and Bosch includes templates for fixing an attractive furniture façade onto the appliance doors with your own hands.

Fasteners are attached to the grooves located on the body of the device.

From the inside of the machine door, unscrew the short screws and screw in the long ones, which will allow you to attach the furniture facade.

Features of electrical connection of the dishwasher

As provided by the manufacturer, installation and connection of the unit to the power supply must be carried out only through a European-type socket with high-quality grounding.

At first glance, installing and connecting the device to the electrical network via a tee is quite simple. But this is only for those people who do not know about the existence of the basic rule, or rather, there are several of them.

The power of the electrical elements of the dishwasher, which includes the water pump and motor, requires a high-quality conductive cable.

It is not recommended to use extension cords, or to connect the unit together with electrical appliances that have high power; for this reason, a tee, wiring, socket or other similar devices may melt.

It is very important that a grounding system is installed to allow safe operation of the electrical appliance.

Consumables and tools

Installing the unit is a process that must be performed following the manufacturer's instructions.

It will only take a couple of hours to connect the dishwasher, if you have a set of consumables and tools on hand.

To install a washing machine yourself, you will need:

  • waste siphon;
  • ball valve;
  • tee (3-4 inches - thread);
  • cleaning filter;
  • metal-plastic pipe hence;
  • screwdriver, pliers, electrical tape;
  • FUM – fumka waterproofing tape.

The faucet must be of good quality, as well as the tee itself for the electrical network. You shouldn’t be fooled by cheapness, so that you don’t have to regret your choice later.

The siphon is responsible for draining used water, so the siphon can be equipped with several fittings for subsequent connection to the sewer drain of other equipment.

It is better to immediately purchase a high-quality plumbing siphon, since a sewer siphon is a barrier to sewer odor.

When buying a siphon, check its contents so that during installation and connection to the sewer system of the unit you do not have to run for the missing gasket.

They said the basics about the sewer siphon, but as for the filter, to clean hot and cold water from rust you need to use the same one that is built into the water meter system.

Dishwasher Installation

Bosch and Siemens dishwashers are connected according to the following scheme: sewerage, water supply, power supply.

Connecting a dishwasher to the sewage system requires the fulfillment of two conditions:

  • Firstly, an upper bend is installed on the siphon with a fitting, which will not allow the drain from the sink to penetrate into the dishwasher;
  • Secondly, the lower drain elbow should have a short bend and good depth.

Its presence in a Siemens, Ariston or Bosch washing machine is very important - if the drain is empty, sewage contaminants will not get into the air, but into the closed space of the equipment.

Water supply from the sewer has its own nuances; experienced craftsmen do not recommend connecting hot water to the water supply for any dishwashers, be it Siemens, Bosch or other brands.

Why is it not advisable to use initially hot water?

First of all, supplying hot water to household appliances will cost more than electricity.

Secondly, note that the quality level of hot water is lower than that of cold water.

This fact is due to the passage of hot liquid through the boiler room, its contact with the metal water heating system and pipeline.

The supply of hot water from the sewer will have a negative effect on the working elements of the dishwasher. For example, a check valve may lose its functionality.

A useful appliance in the kitchen is a dishwasher. It helps to save water, valuable time that can be spent on proper rest, communication with family, and doing household chores. If the family is large and everyone loves delicious home-cooked food, by the end of the day a lot of dishes accumulate, left over from preparing and eating food.

This wonderful device will easily cope with the task of washing dishes; the quality of the wash will surprise the demanding housewife. When the machine is purchased, it needs to be installed and connected. Below is a step-by-step instruction that will tell you how to connect a dishwasher with your own hands to the water supply, cold and hot water, sewerage, electricity, how to choose the right place, how to install the equipment.

Dishwasher in the kitchen

Dishwashers are gaining great popularity and are often found in apartments and houses. Washing dishes in a machine is convenient and comfortable. The device allows you to save water consumption and electricity required to heat water. It is not surprising that a dishwasher is present in many homes or is planned for the nearest purchase. The best time to decide to purchase this device is when renovating a kitchen.

If the place is determined and prepared, you can install the machine at any time. Installation work is not complicated, you can successfully complete it yourself. What is needed to connect a dishwasher?

The dishwasher does not require any special installation. After installing the machine, you will need to connect to the main networks:

  • electricity,
  • water supply,
  • sewerage.

In some cases, you can connect the device to hot water, but not all models allow this method; this should be indicated in the instructions.

Preparing the installation site

First you need to decide on the location of the equipment. It is advisable to foresee the placement location in advance in the kitchen design, but you can easily install it at any time if the necessary networks are nearby: water supply, sewerage, electricity.

The optimal location is near the sink. Before purchasing, it is necessary to evaluate the amount of space available, because the equipment is offered in different sizes. To gain additional space, it is worth giving up one kitchen cabinet.

Freestanding models have standard widths:

  • 60 cm,
  • 45 cm.

The standard depth is 60 cm, height is 85 cm. In most cases, the machines are equipped with legs that allow minor adjustments (raise, lower by 2-4 cm). Some free-standing models allow installation under the kitchen countertop; their top cover can be removed. Built-in machines have similar dimensions.

Installing and connecting a built-in machine will require great accuracy in measuring the installation location. The built-in option must be provided at the stage of ordering kitchen furniture. When the machine is built-in, any intervention is difficult or impossible.

An interesting solution is a compact dishwasher installed on the kitchen table. The compact model resembles a home microwave oven in appearance and does not require much space. Compact appliances will complement a small kitchen where it is impossible to install standard-sized appliances. Compact models are purchased by residents of rented apartments, childless couples, and bachelors.

What kind of water can I connect to?

The machine must be connected to a water supply, usually cold water. Some models can use hot water at 60°C. However, the profitability of this option is noticeable in the following situations:

  1. water is heated through the use of alternative energy sources (solar collectors, heat pumps);
  2. hot water is supplied by a boiler or gas heater, you can save a little, because the energy from burning gas is cheaper than electricity;
  3. The water is heated by a solid fuel boiler or a fireplace with a water jacket.

Using hot water is useful if the heating element burns out; replacing this component is expensive. Unfortunately, in modern technology, spare parts do not last very long; they are sold assembled, as a unit, so replacement is expensive. As the experience of the author of the article shows, this rule applies to little-known and popular brands present on the household appliances market.

Before connecting to the water supply, you need to make sure that the water:

  1. not too hard
  2. does not contain large amounts of iron, manganese.

What hardness is acceptable?

  • if the total hardness is less than 7 on the hardness scale, there is no need to use conditioner - the water is considered soft;
  • If the total hardness exceeds 7, water softening should be used.

When heated, compounds contained in water decompose into insoluble carbonates, forming scale (a phenomenon well known to people who use electric kettles).

Increased water hardness can:

  1. damage the device,
  2. significantly reduce the quality of washing.

To reduce hardness, it is necessary to install appropriate main filters at the entrance of the water supply to the apartment or directly in front of the equipment.

Connection to water supply

You can connect the water to the dishwasher yourself. Each machine is equipped with a water supply hose. Depending on the manufacturer, the lengths of the hoses are:

If the hose in the purchased model is too short, you need to purchase an extended version. It is not recommended to extend water hoses by connecting them to each other, as this may cause water leakage at the joints.

An easy way is to connect the dishwasher to the water - under the sink. Flexible high-pressure hoses that need to be hidden in the sink cabinet are suitable for these connections (the hose is included with the machine).

To connect you need

  1. Turn off the main water supply valve in the apartment.
  2. Unscrew the pipe.
  3. Water is supplied to the sink through 2 pipes (cold and hot). A tee with a faucet for the machine is installed on the cold water pipe. If the dishwasher is connected to hot water, a similar tee is installed on the hot water pipe.
  4. We screw the high pressure hose to the faucet and to the machine.

Checking the tightness of the system

After installing the pipes, it is necessary to check the tightness of the system. The tightness is checked by opening the main tap in the apartment, and then after the first start of the machine.

It is important to check the pressure in the water supply system. To operate the device, it is sufficient to provide a water supply of at least 10-15 l/min; the water pressure must have the value specified by the manufacturer (range: 0.1-1 MPa).

Connecting a dishwasher to the sewer - options

Most dishwashers have their own hoses and tubes for draining used water. They have different lengths, but the outflow pipe, if necessary, must be lengthened while maintaining the necessary tightness.

Attention! To prevent unpleasant odors from appearing in the dishwasher, it is important to ensure that wastewater is removed at the proper slope.

If the sewer system is being built from scratch, it should be remembered that near the location of the device there must be an outlet to the sewer with a diameter of at least 4 cm, preferably with an inlet opening directed upwards, possibly extending horizontally from the wall. The bent end of the flexible drainage hose, which is usually equipped with the machine, must be placed in the drain pipe and secured to the wall with a special handle so that it does not fall out.

Connection to the sewer, photo

You can use a special rubber plug with a hole for the hose or a plastic sewer connection with a 1/2-inch connection to attach the drain hose.

If there is no drain to which the dishwasher can be connected directly, you can use a sink trap. You will need to replace the top fitting of the siphon with a tee for connection with a side connection. The design of some siphons includes a tee fitting for installing a drain pipe, then you do not have to install anything additional. This connection is used to install the drain hose. To increase the tightness of the connections, you must additionally use clamps.

The minimum height of the drain hose is 40 centimeters. The height of the drain hole is usually specified by the manufacturer in the instructions. Compliance with this slope will protect against unwanted odors from sewer pipes.

Scheme. Drain height - installation rules

Electrical connection

All devices available on the market operate at a nominal voltage of 220 V and have an electrical cable with a plug.

Important! The outlet must be grounded.

It is worth noting that for safety reasons this should not be done when connecting to the mains. Dishwashers are equipped with a system that interrupts the water supply when malfunctions or internal leaks occur.

What not to do!

  • An extension cord must not be used. According to safety regulations, the machine should be connected directly to a grounded outlet.
  • Location of sockets. If the appliance is installed next to a sink, there is an electrical outlet nearby and there is a risk of contact with water. You should ensure safety - consider installing a moisture-resistant outlet. This issue is especially important if children live in the house.

Using the above rules, you can easily connect the dishwasher to the networks with your own hands. You will need a little skill, basic tools, a tee, a faucet. Installing a dishwasher is not difficult, it is important to follow the recommendations exactly. If the task is to do the installation professionally, to prevent sudden flooding of the apartment, it is better to entrust the work to a plumber.
